In their final moments, or should I say tweets, people show
you who they really are. The and you're listening to

(00:53):
episode 242 with the Vigilante 1999 podcast, A father, son best
find dynamic talking all things DC, Marvel box office and more.
We are discussing the completionof the Batman 2 script, the
latest Fantastic Four trailer, why are people turning against
The Dark Knight, what else is new, and our final hopes and
expectations for James Gunn's Superman.

(01:15):
As always, the best way to support the show is to please
leave us a five star rating interview on Apple Podcast.
We will of course read it on here if you do so.
And I am 1/3 of the Coast exonic.
And joining me as always are Nico and Nick Crusoe Junior.
Hi. Hi.
So life first. Yeah, yeah, it's July 1st, I

(01:36):
guess. We have made it to the most
magnificent month of the year because we are going to get
everything within the next few weeks.
It's. Christmas in July, boy.
Yes. It is we, actually.
Have one this. Year we do have a Christmas in
July, but this is the real Christmas.
We're, we're actually, actually when Christmas in July is, we'll

(01:57):
be right around the time we'll have some answers.
We'll have some answers. I also said he was holding up
the five, as you said, the five star and I forgot we weren't
like live. So I'm like, oh, I'm only doing
this for us and said he might think I'm telling him pause, but
he didn't. He kept going.
He's better with the mic than that.

(02:17):
So boys, Yeah, it it doesn't. Feel like hopefully I'm better
at the mic than I am with box office lately so.
No, no, you'll be. Zinger.
I think Jurassic's going to do alot lower than Zinger.
That's OK. That's OK because we like the
Dinos here. And I still see it.
I I still haven't seen it. So you guys?

(02:38):
You guys stop fighting. No, we're not fighters.
Office We weren't it was all fair.
We we just had a spirit. Of the Ultraman right now.
Forget Superman. OK, well, might as well call me
Bizarro. Get out of here.
I I kind of want. To the open optimism, should we?
Start with Superman. Should we just say like, let's

(03:00):
put it right out on Front Street?
So by this time next week, you both will have seen it.
When this, when you guys drop a show, assuming you do it, I
don't know, like Tuesday or Wednesday, you will have seen
the movie. You both will have seen the
movie. I will not be seeing the movie.
I have I said this on the show before.

(03:21):
Yeah. Suzette and my dad will see it
twice before I see it once, and both times are before it
actually hits on Thursday. Maybe three times.
Well, yeah. If it wasn't on Thursday or
Friday, you too. Don't worry about it.
I have to wait till till the weekend I'll be out of I'll be
out of town for the whole week, so I won't be see the review you

(03:42):
hear. That's kind of ironic.
The review you hear will be without me here, but that's
good. And then we'll have another one
where I talk. About it you.
You won't be mad because Sam is taking your place.
Or your sister, my daughter. My sister, yes.
And. She's going to film me and Zeddi
like before the movie. We're going to be dropping some
videos. You don't.
We are, man. We're going to ask.

(04:03):
Some Oh, I know man, I missed it.
We're. Going to ask.
OK, don't worry about it. I'm cissy about it.
Me and miss you're going to takeher infamous selfie with with
Nico cropped out of the out of the side.
I know, I know. Alive, you know.
I'll be. Honest, I'll be on the beach.
We don't have to wait till you go.
I don't know, you know. I know, I know, it's kind of a
bummer, but I think I honest to God I'm at a point.

(04:26):
I heard David and Rachel are going to be in Chicago,
actually, because I hear a. Gun that would be cool.
Someone should be someone shouldalways be in Chicago on one of
those nights where the third largest market, third largest
city. We deserve to have like a little
bit more of an epic screening. I'm just saying with how much
this town cares about cinema, but I guess let's just do like

(04:47):
final hype and I'll kick it off.I'm actually, and I'm coping
hard. I'm taking some copium here.
I'm going to take a nice shot ofcopium.
I'm glad I'm not seeing it till after everybody.
And I mean that because I've I've had a bit of a whiplash

(05:08):
with the lead up to this. And I think it's going to be a
movie where there's a lot of contention right away, A lot of
contention and yes, online just but like that's where we all are
anyway. So like, I'm not fighting with
GA people. I'm fighting with, you know,
people like us. But I think, I think I would

(05:29):
feel very early, like I did veryearly on with the flash, to like
be really sensitive and in the moment and in the voice and to
try to really pick a pick a stance and agree or disagree
with 1. And I feel like being able to
wait, hear both your opinions onit, who I value more than anyone
ever on this stuff. So and then getting the kind of

(05:51):
see it with some of you saw it before.
I think second viewings are good.
And I think maybe I, I need justto be coached through this one a
little bit after I see it. And then I think I'll be able to
be more objective and more honest and hopefully enjoy it
more, getting to potentially re experience it if you guys both

(06:11):
really like it. Wow, Mr. Say.
Yeah. I mean, so does that make that's
what I said, yeah. I don't know.
Yeah. You sound like the kid.
You sound like there's a couple of parties and you didn't get
invited to the first party and you're waiting.
You're waiting to see on me inside.
You think about the first party and that's.

(06:32):
So we're going to do whatever wecan to get you in Nick, but we
can't promise right away. He's waiting to go up to the
girl. I don't like he's in the.
Corner, you know he's got. His I don't like.
Him, let me explain something toyou.
I am not I am not the biggest Superman fan.
He is not somebody that ranks real high in my list of heroes.

(06:53):
I am absolutely loving the promothat they're doing.
Yeah, I am in love with David Corns.
I love this guy, dude. Just remarkable.
He's so damn likable, charming, entertaining, and the stuff that
I've seen, even with James, who I think I could kind of see a

(07:17):
little bit of a temperate excitement, a little bit of
concern. But boy, Nicholas Holt, I know
that we have some reservations of him as Luther, but he has
been nothing but wonderful in these little press junkets with
Rachel. He's so charming.
He's got the blonde hair he's talking about.

(07:38):
The vibes that they're giving meare so positive and make me feel
so good that I really want this movie to do well because I feel
like we're on the precipice hereof getting what we all want as
DC fans. And I, I know this movie has to

(08:03):
do a certain number, but I, I'm now of the belief that maybe it
doesn't have to be this thing that everybody's forcing it to
be, that it's going to come out.I think it's going to be
critically acclaimed. I think enough people are going
to go see it that I, I just feelgood about it now.
I feel like I know the movie, unfortunately, I feel like I've

(08:24):
read the script several times. And I think it's one of those
things where, while it doesn't completely blow me away and I'm
not going to spoil anything for anybody, I think seeing it is
going to be different. And I'm so behind David because
he's put his heart and soul intothis thing.
And I love it when a guy says, if this is his role, so be it,

(08:47):
right? Like even if he gets pigeonholed
into this and it's the only thing he does, I love Aaron
Nichols Holt saying he would like to revisit in the future
with the Joker. OK.
I like hearing David Currents, let's say he would like to
interact with a with a Robin, with a Wonder Woman.
I mean, these are the kind of things that are are really

(09:10):
exciting me. And I'm trying not to watch
everyone because I don't want toknow too much anymore.
But I am all aboard for this thing and I find it again.
We haven't seen the movie, but Iwould be fairly shocked with the
repertoire that James had has that I'm not going to like this

(09:31):
movie. What?
Maybe I'm not going to think it's the greatest movie of all
time, but I'm certainly going tobe a fan rooting for it.
Which Which? Doesn't have to be, I'll be
honest. I mean, I'm all in.
I'm all in right now. I'm more in than I thought I
would be. And I'm also got the cynical
part of me is gone too. I'm not I'm not like I'm not
looking to pick apart stuff because at this point in time,

(09:53):
it's just we're we're go time. We're less than six days away.
We're going to see this movie. I, I feel like this movie can
lead to everything that all of us DC fans want.
I'm not going to say deserve whoknows who deserves what or
whatnot, but this could be really, this could really be the
start of something. Go ahead and see.

(10:14):
No, go ahead, Nico. Did you want to?
Yeah, No, I my last minute hopesand expectations is is ironic
because I texted Nico this the other day because obviously
Superman's my guy. So my buy in already like
couldn't be higher. Like I'm already bought and I
hope this movie is evaning it's the most excited.
I feel like I've been for ADC. Movie.

(10:35):
Wait, you're a Superman fan? The Batman.
Yeah. Why are you tired?
I look. Superman.
Yeah. Just kidding.
Just just just in the last like 10 minutes and 30 seconds, you
know? You've only championed him.
For my entire, I've only championed.
Him since, Yeah, Since it's the day I was born.
Since the day I could talk so like I'm I'm just excited to be

(10:56):
in there in the theater watchingthis movie.
I feel like I've been waiting for a Superman movie forever.
James Gunn. I I never had any doubt.
I've everything mistress you said about the cast pretty much
sums up how I feel. I feel like this cast has just
been so likable, just so enjoyable from the start.
It feels like everybody really enjoyed making the movie, which
I love. I've been loving all their

(11:16):
Instagram posts, all the interviews like that.
It's like all all the stuff thatlike should.
Be said Time Team I I I swear toGod, listen, I've never said
this right. You guys have never heard me say
anything like this on this show.Their TikTok team is, it's
great. Man.
They are nailing every trend. They even did the one about like

(11:39):
the girlfriend whose guy wants to show them something.
So you have to be nice to him and watch it.
Rachel and David, Rachel and Holt doing it for David to
explain the Superman movie like it's clever.
It's they're good. I don't know if that's WB.
I haven't seen them cook like that on TikTok, not even with
Dune. So if that's a gun squad, like

(12:03):
shout out to them because it's wonderful stuff that he keep
going. But no, but I mean like I feel
like the the other key part thatI'm trying to keep in mind and
like we did a great show with with Chris Clow, like.
Yeah, that's a good show. From the comic change I just saw
on whether or not Superman is relevant in this modern pop
culture setting, it's in the archive.

(12:24):
So if you haven't listened to that, let's really get out.
It is phenomenal. And, and I know the one thing
that I said was that it's ironic.
This is the first time I feel like we're seeing a comic book
Superman inserted into the genre, and we've never had that
before. Every other interpretation that
we had in this, in this modern no, no, no, no, I'm going to say

(12:44):
it. Every everything.
We've had is modern. How dare you?
Because I've been this God like Messiah arch type or it's been a
deconstruction of the character,right?
This isn't family. Now I'm into it though.
Now. Now I'm into it though.
Do it. Hell yeah.
So this this is going to be the test like, because I said it
like if you just give the audience Superman, the stripped

(13:07):
down version of the character, the way that he was mostly
written from the gecko, and you just make a light hearted, crowd
pleasing movie. Let's see, let's see where this
goes. Maybe that's been the secret
ingredient this whole time. We're seeing the our Monday
one's a press 1. So July 7th is going to be
mostly press screenings. If you do happen to catch people

(13:28):
seeing it, The one on the 8th, which is the Amazon Prime 1, is
the one that I'm going to keep an eye on because that's the fan
1. So like, I'm almost going to be
serving. Oh yeah, you still have a better
time. Than the second one, but I'm
going to kind of get a like better gauge on on the fan one
than I am probably our press 1. So that's what I'm going to keep
an eye for it. But can't wait to see this movie

(13:48):
and, and I do hope that it it isan all time comic book movie for
me. Better than that.
I feel like what we've gotten recently.
Hell yeah, by the way. Yes, don't say that.
The one Monday Zeddie had interaction with our guy Jake
Hamilton. Man, that was wonderful.
I I always have an action with Jake.
I might be more excited for the one on Monday.
We got Jake over there because Zeddie, you need to introduce me

(14:10):
to him because whenever I'm there with.
Nico, I haven't met him either. Nico's like.
No, dude, I don't know. All I say is I'm not going to
go. I I don't go up to.
Dude, he's like, he's like the chiller.
No, but like I I just need it tobe a little more natural but.
Maybe we. Can oh, I've I've.

(14:32):
Pumped into him at the batch second out of the theater.
If I buy you popcorn, can we maybe get a picture with him?
OK, hold on, hold on, hold on. So I would like to also confirm
I am very and it really picked up, like you said, dad, it's
funny. We we haven't talked about this
yet, but I, I've been in the same thing.
I've seen all these videos, I'vewatched the interviews.

(14:53):
David Cornswood I think is so cool.
Oh my God, he's so cool. I haven't been this like into a
comic book actor playing a role.Pattinson I was, but I but for a
different reason. I knew Pattinson.
Pattinson. No, I was pretty hyped for
Pattinson. OK, since Pattinson before that,

(15:15):
I mean, I can't remember the last like comic book like
actors. I was really that into oh, Ben.
OK, wait a minute. I've had a lot anyway.
David has joined that though. But even and then David's done
that where now I like I am already looking.
Regardless of what I feel about this movie, I already can tell

(15:36):
two things. I already know he's going to be
good in it. I know he's going to be good and
I'm going to like him already that's done.
I feel like that's already solidified in two.
I do want to see him again ASAP.I'm going to want to see.
I know I'm going to want to see him again so soon, and I think
I'm gonna, but I think I, I think I.
Think. I think I'm so that's that's the

(15:59):
best compliment I could give forthis guy and.
Have you have you guys been singing the clips?
Too I they're like, they're going, they're going.
I don't want to watch him. Anymore did I say one more?
Jimmy Olsen is rocks, dude. I, I their kids.
Fantastic. He's cool.
And his TikTok stuff is. Outstanding.
Hysterical. And I don't even mind that

(16:21):
little thing if it's true or chicks dig him and.
Said that's not. Oh, it's true.
Yeah. Oh.
It's true. I, I think he's really, I mean,
you want to talk about a you want to talk about him nailing
the characters, the, the castings here.
I think I think that one might be one of the better, one of the
best ones that. Yeah.

(16:42):
You know out of all of them, to be honest with you.
You know, so I'm, I'm pretty Superman pilled.
I'm very excited. I've been reading more.
I'm taking a hiatus. I'm taking a hiatus from V39 for
like. No, like in my mind, no, I, I
know it's going to work for you.In my mind, I'm like, just like

(17:06):
my scale is, how good do I actually think it'll be?
Yes, I'm the same way. I'm like, what's my good scale?
Because my good scale is like, yeah, decent.
Like I mean, I'm saying better than most of the stuff we've
gotten. But I'm already I'm already
feeling like what's the best comic book movie since what the

(17:27):
bad like Guardians three? Like I'm looking to get close to
that. Yeah.
I'm looking. Oh yeah.
I haven't liked the DC. Yeah, in a while.
Yeah, it's got to be the best. Because Joker two I thought was
sucked and I didn't love Blue Beetle as much as everybody else
and I thought Aquaman 2 was dog shit like more than most I

(17:49):
hated. I was the one who hated Aquaman.
2 dogs I feel like. No, I think we all hated.
Yeah, I think I said it was OK. It was fun, but.
It's so that's that's where I'm at is I'm like, I know it's
going to be good. Just how good I'm hoping.
So here's where I'm at with here's what would really impress
me. I think Guardians 1 is a perfect
movie. I think it's a masterpiece.
I think Guardians 3 is extremelyclose, and I love Guardians 2

(18:13):
immensely. And I really dig the Suicide
Squad. It can't be last.
I don't think it'll be last. It's going to be better than
Suicide Squad, come on. Man, I I'm looking but I don't
know. I'll be really impressed if I
think it touches how I feel about Guardians one and three.
Two, I could see myself being moved around, but.

(18:38):
I was going to say, I feel like if I had it, but I'd say maybe
like Guardians. I'm hoping, I'm hoping if it's
Guardians 2 or higher it's that's best case scenario for
me. But oh, that's just spectacular.
Then, hey, who knows? Maybe, maybe we'll have a new.
Leader. No, I know it could be.
And that would be like the utmost ironing.
Team it would be. I'm very excited for it.
I'm sad. Like I said, I can't see it with

(19:00):
you guys early, but I know it'llbe worth the wait.
I think to to see it with some more people and get to
experience it all together and then talk about it together.
I also found out that that my mywatch only has like an hour 40
minute battery life so unfortunately I could film some
of the movie probably what the fuck, but no.
I'll tell you what my only otherthing though, my only

(19:22):
reservation I have is I am with I just like my dad.
I have seen everything and I think I I think I know the
entire movie. I'm pretty sure I know the
entire movie. I I and I know the movie.
Every leak is crazy. This is the best I and I have to
find out who the original leakerwas because I'm just telling you

(19:43):
guys, in this comic book space, this might be the greatest leak
ever in the sense that it was maybe 100% correct and you do
not. You never see that because
they've confirmed about 50. I'm not kidding.
They're showing too many clips though.
I think they should stop. I told you that's why they've.
Showed about, they've confirmed.I'm not.
Going to. Question, are there clips

(20:06):
because they're worried about the opening numbers a little bit
or am I is that just? The when you release more clips,
it's usually because you're hoping to get you're, you're
feeling like you need to do someselling stuff.
Now can I say this? Generally, I'm sure people will
listen and disagree, but you don't use.

(20:27):
This is a lot of clips they're showing.
It's a lot of. They're showing, but this is not
the flash. Like it.
It's not going to the flash. No, I know.
I think it's going to work is what I'm saying.
But nobody even promoted The Flash.
Interesting. The Flash was only promoted by
the early screenings and some ofthe executives and the paid
influencers they had. This is a little bit different

(20:47):
where you've got the the stars out there promoting the movie.
The Flash was a Frankenstein movie.
This is this is not that. This is, this is the beginning.
No I know this is a complete movie done by a guy that did it
his way. Although I I do believe I do

(21:07):
believe they told him to change some stuff though.
I do. Think.
He, I do know there's a few scenes that got cut that I've
had confirmed not only from Scoopers, but I people I trust.
And they've actually, some of the, some of the people in the
movie have actually said a couple things got cut and some
of them being the title card stuff and oddly enough, Crypto
being punched, which makes perfect sense because you're

(21:30):
just so wise to see that, even though you know, 'cause he did,
he did crazy stuff in the Guardians 3.
And you heard what the girl said, right?
You heard what the actress said.Which part?
Go ahead. That confirms changes.
So like this confirms I I need people to listen now.
A lot of people were mad at someof these Superman reports.

(21:51):
Usually when actors say that, oh, we filmed that, but that got
cut with that got cut, but they never say why, she said because
it didn't do well in the test screening.
Yes. So that was a direct note.
That was a note, you know what Imean?
So it's like, OK, that's, that'salready confirmation that.
And you know which is. OK, it happens to every movie.

(22:14):
Maybe it's up for the butter. It's not every director, and I
know this is because I'm a cinema guy, but it's true.
Not every director. Sometimes the reigning in is
very important and usually on the best movies it happens.
Like if this movie was 100% James Gunn, which it probably

(22:34):
was. That's the problem.
You you. He needs a little walk back.
Feige kept them in line brilliantly then.
Yeah. But I think, yeah.
But I think that happened here. I think you.
Know I'm I'm, I'm saying I'm saying I think there's people
very sensitive to like gun didn't have to compromise his
vision. Like that's not that's not how
it works. It's like, no, no, he's not

(22:55):
compromising his vision. But like you this is commercial
art and it's their biggest moviesince Oppenheimer and Barney
that they needed to be that big.So you're gonna mold it based on
a bunch of different reactions that people are giving you.
So it's OK to acknowledge that and for the movie to still end
up very good, all I'm saying. And I believe the title card

(23:19):
stuff too, because that's kind of unique and different, but I
believe that that didn't play well either.
I also believe no because peopledidn't, I don't think got what
he was trying to do there. What's also fascinating because
he's like the CEO and he made this movie, right So if he like
made his movie carte blanche like and he did listen to those

(23:40):
notes and it does end up benefiting the movie, then
honestly kudos to him right because.
But. For all intents and purposes he
could have just said no screw you.
Like I'm making my movie like I'm the guy in charge here.
Like how I see Superman is how Iwant him to be right?
So if whatever notes he took andends up being better than I'm
going to take it, then that's a responsible filmmaker at the end

(24:00):
of the day. So that's all I'm.
Going to absolutely, absolutely. So I'm really excited.
That brings us to. Don't kill the parents, James.
Oh yeah? Well, I, yeah.
Don't kill the father. No.
No, no, no. James.
James. No.
There doesn't need to be no moretornadoes in cans.
Come on now. It's so.

(24:23):
Hot dogs and apple pies. Let's stay on Superman.
Then we got for all seasons to talk about which I think I
touched on the last show that I read it and then my dad ended up
reading it. So we could kind of just have a
light a little comic discussion here in Superman for all
seasons. Dad, I I, I kind of want you to
go first. What are you thinking about this

(24:45):
this story that you you read today or at at at time of
filming? Yeah, I've never read this
before. And it's by Jeff Loeb and Tim
Sale, right? Yeah.
I got to be honest with you, I, you know, once again, I, I
wasn't, I know we talked about doing it and I, I kind of came
home and I'm like, let me see ifI could cram this thing in
before the show. Not really looking forward to

(25:08):
it, but feeling like maybe it was a homework assignment that I
I needed to do because we promised people were going to do
it. You know, it it it at first
glance, I'm like, oh, it's another like Superman origin
story at Smallville. When I finished it, I thought it
was fantastic. I thought it was an enjoyable
read. I thought the perspective each

(25:30):
issue gives you from, you know, from his dad to Lois to Lex and
then to Lana, who I don't know alot about Lana, but I think I
enjoyed that one the best. It was a that that was a good
one at the end. It was a almost heartbreaking
sort of, you know, love story that that didn't go the way they

(25:52):
both thought. I thought that the perspective
of his father at first was wonderful.
Being a father myself. It was very heartwarming and
daring. I thought that they did.
I thought these first of all, these guys are are, you know,
they're 2 icons, They're 2 legends in the genre, in the
comic world anyway, right? I mean, they've given us the,

(26:13):
the, you know, the Batman stuff on Halloween, all that.
But for a Superman story, for a guy that doesn't like, I've read
a lot of Superman in the past, but haven't read a lot in the
last 25 or 30 years. This was really, really good.
And it, it brought all the core values of the character, the,

(26:33):
how can I put it, the insecurityof the character trying to do
the right thing. And it's just terrific.
Again, I don't, I'm, I'm going to let you guys talk, but I, I'm
glad I read this. It felt good to read this.
It kind of fit into my vibes howI'm so positive with everything
I'm seeing from the cast going into the movie.
So it just added to my Superman eye right now.

(26:57):
I cosign all that and visually Ithink it's incredible.
The arts, the. Visually it's it's like and and
and I've read a lot. Of different styles.
Oh my God. Yeah, I've read and of course
looked at a lot of Sale and Loebstuff in in, you know, my
lifetime, especially in recent memory with all the stuff they
do with Spider Man and DaredevilYellow like those stories too.

(27:19):
And then of course, you know, all their Batman stuff, the when
he flies and it's the red, yellow and the blue streaks.
I mean, that stuff is incredible.
The scene with the fire, emotionally strong, those
different perspectives that likeyou said, are so interesting and
specifically the four charactersthey use.
I'm a sucker for him and his relationship with his mom and

(27:40):
dad in here. I think it's beautiful,
especially his father, which, you know, I do this show with my
father and it seems like we, youknow, not every character has
that dynamic. And it's interesting that I
guess, yeah, we didn't get into Superman more with father son.
It's fascinating. It's very cool to read now and
hit me the way it does now and the way our relationship is now
as I'm older. It's very cool.

(28:01):
I feel like I'm similar to an age he, you know, and maybe you
not as old as the Kents, not notyet, but like you, you're
younger than that. Those Cavs are better than that,
right? Is that a better Cavs than
Superman himself? So I I really love.
This. Damn, maybe you shouldn't have
opened. That door for for that person
the other day. Nico maybe?

(28:22):
Maybe. Maybe.
Maybe you should have let it hitthem.
Maybe you should have just let the door hit them.
Also, the ending of an issue 4 when Lois is like, starting to
think it's Clark and then she said it's the stupidest idea
ever. I was rolling.
That's so funny. Yeah, that's an iconic comic

(28:42):
shot, that Clark and his Superman, Lois Lane, that's the
stupidest idea in the world. With the headline of him flying
in the back right behind her. Just a great there, you know,
RIP 'cause this duo was magic. This duo is magic.
Zeddy, you're, you're, I think you touched on it recently, but

(29:04):
what's, where does this ring foryou?
Is this your favorite Superman story ever?
It's like probably like if I hadlike A1 and A1A, it's probably
like my second favorite Supermanstory, my first being All Star
Superman. But everything you guys said
about in which Nico is oddly enough leading right now
actually. I have it right here on.

(29:25):
I know so good. And and I got I see.
I knew it was a little deliciously.
Beautiful absolute, which was a birthday gift by the two
gentlemen. Of course it's.
Good to see. You're welcome, Sir.
That's. Deliciously.
Beautiful. You have another one coming up
shortly. Oh, look at.
That one coming up shortly. I'll be costing, I got.
The trade? No, it was only dude.

(29:45):
It was 30. I paid 30.
Bucks. Oh, did you buy it, Nick?
You bought it, huh? Yeah, I really like.
The the. Cover of the trade.
Is. That barn cover?
No, no, no, it's a trade. But I I like throwing in some
trades to my collection here anddid.
You get that at the gram. No guess where I got it?

(30:06):
Not Amazon, right? No.
Barnes and Noble. Barnes and Noble.
I hadn't been inside of Barnes and Noble in a while.
I'm eight issues in. I really like it.
I'm curious to see how it finishes, though.
I'll tell you this about All Star.
That middle section of. The It's absolutely bizarre.

(30:27):
Is that the take on this book? That it's bizarre.
'Cause this shit is it's apartment.
It's also freaking weird and I love it.
I told, I told yeah. I didn't know it was this weird.
It's the. Charo part is where it gets a
little. Tone weird, but I feel like it
was already weird. I feel like it was already.
It's like weird. Good and weird.
Weird but like, that's the best compliment.

(30:48):
The book, it's so emotional, like, like there's so many pay
offs in that story. I've gotten a couple things
already, so I'm curious for the last four.
So all Star's your favorite All Star at some point, maybe read
All Star. I could give this to you or
it's. On the Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You know what? Maybe when, not when you guys
come back or something. I'll drop off the tray.
Yeah, for you to read because. I'll tell you what I'd like to

(31:12):
do though. It's got great artwork, so I'll
give you the physical. Don't I would like just to cover
that panic in the sky at some point, but we'll we'll do that
after I'll do. That too.
No, I'm pretty Superman building.
I'm down to read Superman comicsright now.
I know I am. You know, I've done a few now,
so I it's fun. It's fun.
Speaking of things, DCI always talk about actors having aura,

(31:36):
but I didn't know that. A script, a piece of paper, a
collection. Of pages with a.
Bat signal they or the script aura farm itself in the photo.
I've never seen an object or a farm before.
Incredible. So the Batman Part 2 script is
in really hard picture from MattLeach, Matt Reeves and Mattson

(31:58):
Tomlin, who started writing the first one.
Yeah, he, he ended up not being credited in the first one.
So seems like this time he had an increased load and those
notebooks were so cool he was using And I'm back now.
I'm Matt Reeves, The Batman pillagain 'cause that first movie
rips and I wanna see it again. Just those notebooks felt

(32:18):
gritty, you know, So I'm, I'm excited that that's all I'll
say. The The woe is the woe is the
woe is US of the Batman Part 2 script is delivered.
Gun hasn't read it yet though, but Peter Safran has allegedly
Zeddy. Yeah, now I'm I'm really excited

(32:40):
too. Contrary to some people's
beliefs on Twitter, I guess I wasn't looking forward to this
movie or or didn't want it couldn't be farther from the
truth. Sorry that sorry that people
felt that way. No, I'm, I'm, I'm Jazz and I'm
Jones at that. The the script is done and
that's movies going to make because I didn't want a sequel
because I because I love the first movie.
I was a little hesitant because it was taking some long because

(33:01):
it was taking so long. There's all these reports that
some stuff was going on with Matt Reeves.
Maybe that's true, maybe it's not true.
I don't know. Who knows at this point anymore.
I was getting a little flusteredand frustrated because it felt
like we needed to know every little update and thing like,
oh, it's going to be turning into a memorial that actually,
no, turns out it's going to be June 1st.
Actually, no, not June 1st. It's going to be June 2nd by

(33:23):
11:59 PM. I'm like, all right, guys, it's
just a script, right? I mean, like this movie was
either going to get made or it wasn't and I was going to be
fine either way. Have no idea what directly what
this leads to. We'll talk about that when a
time comes. Excited for the casting
announcements that we're going to get 'cause that was arguably
the most fun time was when Matt Reeves was dropping all the

(33:43):
casting chips of all the people that that was in the movie.
Do you think it's a little peculiar that the the script is
being turned in right as Superman's about to come out?
That was interesting. That was might be might be the
perfect time to, oh, I don't know, maybe notes on the script
too. Kind of wink wink.
How that how that's happening, Idon't know.
I just don't want it to be Hush or Mr. Freak listen.

(34:07):
That was the other thing one. That Mister Freeze thing has
been going on too damn long, people.
Yeah, I can't. I love that so many of you want
him and if it is him I will get a Mr. Freeze tattoo.
You're you're, you're. Really not a lot of tattoos
lately. I will if I'm wrong like you're
you're gonna. You're.
Gonna. Superman opens domestically over

(34:29):
200 million. I will get a Superman tattoo.
I don't think I'm getting a tattoo.
So we're good. You're.
Going to end up like Jerry Lettles, Joker if you keep
making these bets, my man. Come on now.
You know I'm saying no, no, all these, all these tattoos.
That's my man. Thank God Dad, your thoughts?

(34:49):
Did you say your? Thoughts.
Yeah, so here's the deal. And I don't want to piss anybody
off and don't get mad at me, butoh, he's.
I am not he's. Poor inside and.
I am not in the, in the, in the,in the, the Reeves mindset just
yet because I've got Superman coming out and I've got, you
know, David Cornswick saying that he would like to interact

(35:11):
with him. I've got Nicholas Holt saying he
writes the World's Finest where Luther and Joker team up.
And I'm just like, I don't know,man.
It's if, if, if that delays thatI, I, I don't know right now.
I'm, it's a script. It's in.
It's going to take a long time. They say they're going to film

(35:32):
it. What the beginning of next year?
Is that what they're saying? Yeah, who knows that can that
can change. And it's coming out one in 2027,
right? Yes, October of 20. 20 is not
what I mean. Look, I'm glad he turned it in
and all that. And, and I, nobody, I, I, I
adored the first movie as much as anybody.
But yeah, right now I'm on a little bit of ADCU connected

(35:55):
universe kick and I just can't really feel the excitement for
the Reeves project right at thistime.
Maybe a month from now, maybe after Superman comes out and
fires on all cylinders, we hear some stuff.
I'm not against it at all either.
I'm, I'm, I'm hoping it does come out, but right now you guys

(36:17):
are asking me, am I happy he turned it in right now?
I don't know. It's kind of a weird time to
turn it in, too. Yeah.
I mean, he couldn't have waited or I mean, till the movie came
out. I mean, what would have been the
difference if he did it two weeks from now or three weeks
from now? It's not going to accelerate the
filming of it or the production of it or anything.

(36:38):
Weird. It's just weird to me.
I'm just being honest with you guys.
It's weird. Just you just like, let us be
excited, man. Just like let us.
Just like let. Us I just I just never seen so
much excitement for to see scraping there, you know?
I just like, just like, take it easy.
Everyone. Everyone was complaining about
how The Avengers movies had no scripts and now everybody wants

(36:59):
Matt. Yeah, the screenplays, guys.
The screenplays, we should be excited.
You know, Dad, you should be excited like Gunn thinks
everyone's at home, and every time a film's announced or they
see a trailer, they go, hey, babe, you want to see that
movie? And she responds, not if it
doesn't have a finished screenplay.
James Gunn thinks, yeah, those conversations are happening.

(37:21):
He thinks the the 14 year old dudes who are getting ready to
see Conjuring 12 defeat my ass edition.
He thinks they're like, hey guys, after after we hit up the
the downtown area where we loiter because that's what 12
year olds do in the real world. Let's go see that scary movie.

(37:46):
Invite those people and none of them are going to go.
My dad says I can't go if the screenplay wasn't finished so
like those conversations aren't happening y'all?
But anyway. I can't see this movie if
there's ADR in the movie. ADR And so I'm drawing a pretty
bad blank here. Oh no, we have not talked about

(38:09):
the final F4. OK, now we got to go to Marvel.
Now we got to go to Marvel. I'm sorry, I'm going to Marvel
unless there's any final thoughts on.
DC we're. We're we're forgetting the, the,
the big DC thing that's hitting the the interwebs all over the
timeline. Come on, guys.
Oh yeah. Let's talk about that real
quick. What do we?
Oh man. I I'll be.

(38:31):
Honest, all of a sudden, it's very cool.
Yeah. By people to kind of pan that
The Dark Knight is not all that.Oh, God.
Oh, I see. No, I was trying to avoid this.
You know what? I was trying to avoid this.
Man, I don't. Want to do OK?
We have to. We have to.
I mean, that's that guy's a Brendan Hodges is a Chicago

(38:56):
film. Music.
I've seen that screen. But like, it's funny, his tweet
I think is what did this. Is it?
His tweet like reignited the conversation around.
Oh, it did. And then everybody started.
Yeah, I feel like he just thought of it out of nowhere or,
or or maybe it was a prominent thing like a couple weeks ago,
but. No, I didn't.
See. Yeah.

(39:18):
Tweet dude. It's like saying every movie
that's older doesn't age well and the younger generation
doesn't like it. I it, it's it's.
Yeah, I disagree. I I did.
This is The Beatles of the Now here let me give you let me
explain you what I'm saying. I am not a Beatles fan, OK, I

(39:41):
but I cannot ignore that they are the most important musical
influence possibly of the last 50 years, OK, whether I like
their music, don't like their music, whatever.
I respect them and understand why they're revered and where
they are. And you could say The Beatles

(40:03):
music is dated too, right? So this Dark Knight take is a
weird thing because it's like you could say like you, anybody
could say they don't like it. But if you're going to say that,
you have to say. But I understand that among
among cinema people, writers, directors, actors, it is hailed

(40:24):
as the greatest comic book movieof all time.
I just don't see it to say that it's aging well when it
continuously pops up on the listof not only the greatest comic
book movies. It's like why Timothy Chalamet
it's. It's, it's just what it's like.
Listen to a lot of people. So you could say like for me, it

(40:47):
doesn't age well or man, there'ssome Gen.
ZS to, but to to kind of try to make like it's a thing.
It's not a thing, dude. It's only a thing because you're
a moron and you want to say something for clicks.
OK. It's like me telling you, you
know, The Beatles. You know what?
I didn't really like their music.
You know? She loves you.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's kind of simple, you know,

(41:08):
not really that big of a thing. What, am I, crazy?
They influenced just about everymusical act of the last 40
years. I wouldn't have got some of my
greatest performers and bands that I like if it wasn't for The
Beatles. So, dude, it just aggravates me.
And then you got a lot of peoplecoming in.
And then to take that The Batmanis better, you could say I like

(41:32):
the Batman better. But to say like, yeah, you know,
the take now is that that it's not dude.
It's not, you know. I had.
Something in the room. Understand what's going on here,
You know, now we could say maybethe greatest pure Batman movie
is Batman Begins. It's true.
Because that's all Batman. You don't have the Joker in

(41:52):
there. You don't have Harvey Dunn, I'll
give you that. But as far as comic book movies
go, it is a masterpiece. And I would argue that Spider
Man 2 is right behind it. And I don't see anybody, I don't
see anybody ripping that one either.
So it just, it just strikes me when I see these things and I
delve into him a little deeper and I'm reading some of the

(42:13):
responses and what he said and it's just it's not very
intelligent. And if you get clicks or you're
picking up fans or followers that way, that's fine.
But it's a ludicrous take, and I'll leave it at that.
I have a take about 'cause I I agree about The Dark Knight
thing. I've said it before and people
get offended. It's like, it's OK, I get it.

(42:34):
I'm not trying to say your opinions wrong.
I'm trying to say like I have always said, like the takes I
see about it always feel like ones that are just happy are
excited that they have that take.
When I see somebody say like I love The Dark Knight, but like
what? What I look for in a Batman film
is closer to Batman begin. I will give you that every day,

(42:57):
every minute, every second of the week.
It's like just like the ignorant, Oh, it's over it like
it's you. Just I, I just think that's a
take people like to have. A lot of people still watch that
movie and think it's incredible, and they think that because the
ones that age the best are the ones that are narratively

(43:19):
compelling. Tell you something about The
Batman? I still think The Batman is
great. I was a top ten film of that
year. For me, it still is.
However, a lot of it is because of its visual aesthetic and the

(43:41):
mood. And I've thought more as the
couple years have went on, I have never had the desire to
watch that movie again at home because I know it's not going to
look and the sound, I'm not going to feel as immersed.
Cause narratively that movie is a lot weaker than people give,
than people want to say. Those 3 monologues that set up

(44:04):
and walk back every bold thing he planned.
And at that three hours, it's it's so that's just why I'm
saying like The Batman is not better.
But like with this, the ones where the narrative is so
strong. And that's why that movie
continues to age well and why a movie like The Batman, I think
isn't aging well for people. I don't think that movie's aged

(44:26):
as well for people as we think. That's fair.
Yeah. So I very rarely talk about it
with people. It's not a movie people bring up
to me. It's that's one that for people
who tried to watch it at home, they all didn't like it.
Everyone I know who didn't see it in theaters doesn't like it.
Everyone, they can't get throughit at home.

(44:46):
How many can't get through it athome?
They're like, yeah, my sister, they give up on it after about
an hour, hour. And a half.
That's a really bold thing they don't have.
Which I. Respect.
And a lot of people say, yeah, Pattinson's really cool stuff.
It's good and all. It opens, it's great.
And then they're like, it's justtoo long.
That's what I hear. It's too long.
That's the biggest gripe I hear about it and no one understands
it either, even though they explain it to you 3 times.

(45:08):
What's going on? Yeah, we still don't completely
get it. They don't like.
That's why on every viewing I kept really liking it, but I
would always be like, wow, I'm just so caught up.
I saw it so many times in the theater, 'cause it is.
Visually and sonically, it really is an immersive movie,
the atmosphere of that movie, but the atmosphere of that movie

(45:28):
is actually unbelievable. And that's Greg Frazier.
And that's because marriage direction and that team.
But yeah, it's it's not. And that's what I've tried to
say on other podcasts. I think I said it once before
with the length. It's I know there's a lot going
on with Matt, but let's just talk about like his writing

(45:48):
process. Let's take it all out.
He, the, the amount of time he takes, the actual screenplay
wasn't, you know, that strong inmy opinion.
So it's like takes a long time. But like, yeah, I, I don't know
if that always means like he's, he's nailing this great thing.
This will be a big test. He's learned from the first one.

(46:10):
He's learned from the first one.If this sequel is better than
the first one, it's utterly impressive in my opinion, from a
filmmaker, from a writing standpoint by him, 'cause that
movie needs to progress to, I think, be good and well
received. Well, we, we said it's got to be
a little more tighter and lighter.
I mean, you know that that's what we said on the last one,

(46:32):
which which is objectively and factually true.
If you want the movie to to makemore than the last, you, you
have to, you have to lighten thescale up a little bit, you know?
Absolutely. Yeah.
So let's bring this thing full circle.
Unless, Dad, you had one more thought on the.
Batman Yeah, the only thing I want to say too, about the
ignorance of The Dark Knight. And I'm not going to get into
the. You just had to be there.

(46:54):
Right. The thing about it is that the
The Dark Knight was even more than Spider Man was the movie
that made it cool for people to get into the genre because it it
wasn't just a it was a global phenomenon, The Dark Knight.

(47:16):
And yes, Heath Ledger's death had a lot to do with it.
I understand that. But it was like the gift to all
comic book fans because all of asudden you had friends,
neighbors, Co workers going. I went to go see this movie and
it's great. In 89 you had the Batman fans,

(47:37):
you had the rabidness of all that, But it wasn't like every
single human being was drawn to it like it was in The Dark
Knight. So to, to not recognize that and
it's still held in the highest of esteem and regards by people
that are not even cinema, you know, in the cinema and all that
kind of stuff. So that's all I just like I

(47:58):
said, I, I, I will never disagree.
If you don't like it, that's fine.
You could say, you know what, for me that aging well, I don't
like it. But to say like, I feel like
that this is what's happening. Not dude, you're on a freaking
island with like 7 other people and that's about it.
I'm taking no. No sorry I just, I just no sorry

(48:21):
I just screenshotted something cool.
No. It's cool.
No 824 wants to share my review for Sorry Baby.
That's really cool. So I Oh yeah, I, I just took a
screenshot of the moment. It was pretty cool.
Sorry Babe comes out this week. See it in theaters.
It's only playing in three theaters, though.

(48:41):
Selfless plug. One of them's Alamo, the other
two, I don't know. I'll say it by the end.
I'll look at the e-mail. Let's move on to one last thing,
because this will be a nice and tight show.
Let's end it lightly. F4 trailer, new final trailer.

(49:02):
That's kind of. We've talked about all three of
these movies. More Superman, of course, but
when Superman ends, F4 is going to have to start ramping up.
The way this one is. It's going to really start
happening right after Superman comes out.
You're going to hopefully, probably see the same sort of
promo, same sort of excitement everywhere.
So hopefully we're walking into two bangers and I think we are.

(49:22):
I'll comment last. I thought this final trailer was
fantastic. I was thinking about not using
the pun, but I will. I thought it was freaking
fantastic. Zeddie, I want you to kick it
off with the F4 trailer. Yeah, I I thought this trailer
was great. I'm digging the the the focus on
the humor and then with the family, them using the powers,

(49:45):
seeing Galactus at the forefrontwas was pretty cool that the
surfer obviously gets gets some gets a better look as well.
Just feels like everything to make a really great Fantastic
Four movie. Is there the ingredients to make
to make a compelling Fantastic Four movie seems to be there in
the MCU genre. You know, however, however you
want to say it, but this movie'sin a weird spot for me because

(50:09):
I'm excited for it. I hope it's great.
I love the Fantastic Four again.I hope we have that one true
great F4 movie, just like I hopeSuperman's that one true great
movie that wins a lot of people, wins the world over.
I just feel like Superman just has all the juice right now.
Like I know, like I'm I'm sure F4 is going to do well.
Nobody like no describe me on anything.

(50:31):
I'm sure the movie's going to dofine.
It's going to perform well, might even do bigger than than
what I think right now. But it just feels like every
single thing that I've seen fromF4, Superman is like right there
to like beat it at something, whether it's marketing or
whatever trailers. It just seems like this movie's
not catching on the way that I feel like Marvel either
anticipated or the way that we're anticipating.

(50:52):
Maybe it's my algorithm online because it's just all Superman
right now, but it just feels like this movie is going to rely
on having enough juice after Superman comes on.
I just don't know. And this is what we've been kind
of getting at between Jurassic, F4 and Superman all coming out,
you know, with within just a fewweeks of each other.
It just might be the one that unfortunately gets bit the

(51:15):
bullet a little bit, which is ironic because you can do so
much with that family and that cast the same way you can do
with Superman. You can put that family
everywhere in terms of marketingand you can really sell the
movie like like on a dime. So I hope the movie is great.
I'm sure it's going to have a lot of ties, you know, moving
forward for the M2, which is exciting.
But it's in that weird spot where, like, I'm just hoping

(51:36):
it's great. And I don't know what exactly
enthusiasm is for this movie because I don't think I really
have a clear gauge for it. I feel like it's all Superman
right now. I don't know if I'm wrong.
What do you think, Mr. C? Dude I can't agree with you
more. I mean everything I, I, I just
don't feel the vibes. So.

(51:57):
Why are you I'm talking? Because you guys are like
leaving something out. I keep seeing this take too that
like F4 is not marketing, it's because like they got to let
Superman come out. Yeah, but don't you think they
should be like, well, no, no, it's.
Like Superman's going crazy because it comes out in in in
seven days, but. It feels like Superman's been
marketing forever, though at this point, this movie's been.

(52:18):
Marketed, it's always had like acouple weeks to a month earlier
because it is coming out earlier.
I know, but like, I've seen Superman since the Super Bowl.
I don't know. Yeah, they.
Just released the trailer right before the Superman movies
coming out and I don't think you'd move the needle at all.
I don't very big numbers. It had very big numbers.
You are wrong. It had very big numbers.

(52:39):
So that's why I'm saying F4's gonna ramp.
They're waiting for Superman to premiere in the theater, and
then you're gonna start seeing them everywhere the big two
weeks before, just like Warner Brothers is doing.
That's all I'm saying. Yeah, that's why you're not
seeing more. I hope they don't suffer because
they're the second one the. First one.
The first one grabbed all the glory and all the and all the

(53:00):
money. We're going to see, we're going.
To see, I don't know. To me, I, I, I think the trailer
looks a lot like every trailer that they showed.
But so did Superman's trailers. I don't feel anywhere near Pedro
Pascual. What I feel for David.
And I. Know and I think that's because
because Pascal's everywhere I I just I, I don't know, man, I, I,

(53:23):
I like it. I don't like it.
I like it. I don't like it it's the same
Vanessa Kirby. We're a family.
We're a family. Yeah, the thing looks cool and I
think Johnny looks cool I think Galactus looks cool.
I don't dig the surfer. I still don't think she looks
good. I don't think it looks good as
the original surfer did 20 something years ago.
So. I.

(53:44):
I'm just. I'm just talking let.
Me talk, I'm telling you. I got better than.
That I got weird feelings about the Fantastic Four.
I I got weird feelings. I got, I got like, like a weird
thing where I just not sure thatbeing the second movie plays

(54:07):
well for it. Now it does have nothing coming
out after it. I get it, but I'm, I got to wait
and see right now. And I'm, and I, and you know, so
we're, we're reviewing the trailer and I can't help but
compare it to Superman because we have these whole things
coming out right. And, and it like, as I judge the

(54:27):
trailer on its own. It's just like I said, I, I
don't, I don't know that you're telling me there's big numbers.
Maybe there's big numbers. We'll see.
I don't hear anybody talking about the Fantastic Four on my
timeline, except for the few guys that we talked to and
stuff. I don't see a whole.
I see a lot of Superman. Well, we all follow more.

(54:50):
DC people, it's just here. Algorithm.
They're going to market it as strong as what they're doing for
Superman, where it's everywhere.I think it will be strong.
I think it will be strong, I think.
It's strong now, though I think it I don't know what they're
waiting for. It's only a few weeks.
You, you, you got to let this movie come out first.
You, you can't be trying to do shit while they're doing that.
You have to wait. No, I think every movie would

(55:12):
wait. I think every movie would wait
because they would look laughable trying to do it right
now. I'm telling you it was a case in
point of you just gotta wait. Well, why drop that trailer now?
Why didn't they wait till the Superman came out and then drop
the trailer? That's like their move was this
trailer, then it's going to be the clips, it's going to be the
talk shows, it's going to be everything else.

(55:32):
Like Superman hasn't had a finaltrailer for like 3 weeks now.
It's been, it's been, it's happened already.
Yeah. That's true.
The trailer was their strike. The trailer was their thing to
keep themselves in the in the mix.
That was the first move. I'm telling you, I think the
trailer looks incredible. I got to disagree with you.
I'm sorry. I can't get by.
I think it's people in denial. The the the surfer looks good.

(55:55):
She looks incredible. She has eyeballs.
It does not look worse than the IT.
It does. The the old one does not look
better than this. This is a silver person that's
not practical, but I don't want them to look practical.
I do want her to look kind of fake and surreal.
It's the silver freaking surfer. It's a pure silver being.
I just think the trailer looks great.
I'm I'm more into Pedro, but it's the other three.

(56:18):
I have been reading a lot of F42Quinn is just like Johnny.
He feels like a great Johnny. Chris Evans was a little too
cocky douchey like this one is just is pure fun.
I'm really excited for Vanessa Kirby, a Sue Storm and cousin
Richie is the thing. I mean, I love the dynamic
Johnny, don't tell me how to howto kill sexy aliens.

(56:39):
That's like such a funny line between them, like arguing the
Galactus in scale. The scale of his ship looks big.
It looks cosmic. It looks just a little bit more
epic, right? Because it's space, timelines,
everything. The baby Franklin Richards, I, I
he's older in the comics, but that's a very cool, powerful

(57:00):
character and I know he's going to be very integral to the plot
and things I know about Galactusand and what version of Galactus
this one might be. I'm really excited for F4I still
think between the two, as much as I just said I'm excited for
Superman. I am as excited for F4 because I
think that this movie could be very cool in a different way,

(57:23):
especially if they tease one thing.
If they tease one thing, we're really off to the races.
They're gonna. They're gonna.
Have to. I do too, and and I think
that'll make me there's there's.No way there's not.
I mean like. So.
It's going to be like a checkmate.
We'll see. It's it's going to be fun.
I think I'm going to have fun with it because I hope I like
Superman and I am down for like a little Marvel versus DC the

(57:47):
next couple years. I really.
Am but but like. Objectively, what you do think
this is going to be the one thatlike gets the Marvel people
back, right? I mean like you look at like
they have been missing, you know, like.
I do, and it's probably way too optimistic.
I just think you're going to seepeople end up checking this one
out and I do think it is becausesome of the.

(58:08):
Movies. Still, yeah, 'cause Materialist
is still making good money. I'm pretty surprised it's still
making some pretty good money. Yeah, with with with the cinema
score being low and the word of mouth not being that strong,
it's it's pretty people are are wanting to see that movie.
And I think he's part of it. I think the GA is still like, I
think he's got one left in him before he's got to go away

(58:31):
because Eddington is probably going to bomb, so that'll be him
going away for a bit. Well then he's got Mando and
Goku. He's not in there.
He'll have one scene with the helmet.
He's got Mando. You just won't have to look at
him, you know what I mean? If you're tired of his face, I
promise you he probably shot a scene with the helmet off in a

(58:53):
in a warehouse in Burbank and itwas a stunt double who's really
been doing the heavy lifting thewhole time.
And it's just he was, he's been recording lines in Malibu for
like. The last week we don't have to
do this. Thing getting paid about dad
getting paid about 12 mil to go.Now you don't commit to favorite

(59:14):
record. I've been, I've been kind of
lukewarm on the Family of Support trailer since it came
out. I'm not saying that just cause
of Superman. I, I, I I'm.
Not saying you are. Yeah, I've not been moved as
much as you have by this, by this, by this trailer.
Well, I'm sorry for you. That's OK 'cause it feels good.
Yeah, good. For you, I don't know, but it'll

(59:38):
be. He's frustrated.
He thought I was insinuating he's a gun cultist.
He he thinks I'm calling him a gun gooner.
He thinks I'm calling him a James Gunn.
Gooner. James Gunn Gooner.
Yeah, well, you know, I'm not dead.
I don't like creature commandos.I I wouldn't.
No, I'm not. I'm telling.
I'm saying I'm not calling you. I mean, I think the Suicide
Squad's good, but I don't think it's great like everybody else

(01:00:00):
does. I think it's OK.
It's decent. It was a fun time though.
You don't. Feel what?
You're sure it was? Yeah.
You know, and I'm not the greatest.
I'm not the world's biggest Peacemaker fan either.
I mean, it's it's OK, so. You don't really want to face
it. This is going to be this is
going to be. This is going to be pretty
interesting. You know, we'll know like within

(01:00:21):
the next 30 days just where thisstuff is all at.
It's going to be pretty wild. Yeah.
Because we're going to see here the strategic positioning of
these movies and then it matter that one came out first.
Is it bet? Is the second one better?
Because it's got nothing coming after it for a long time.
It's going to be pretty wild. What's the MPU really needs the

(01:00:42):
win and D ZS just looking to like get on the right track.
I mean they both need. Wins well with the Fantastic
Four Underperforms. Listen, if either of these
movies underperform, it's not going to be good.
Oh, if they both underperform. It's Joker.
No, it's not. We're getting.
One doom appearance and we're going to get jazz.

(01:01:02):
No. Doom and Spidey will carry.
No, you're still going to get the Doomsday movie and you're
going to get Secret Wars. That ain't going to matter.
I mean. No, I know.
I'm saying, you know. And I still think if Superman
underperforms, they're they're going to do what they did
before. And you know what that is,
right? We know you got Supergirl right?
But I guarantee you if if Superman underperforms, what are

(01:01:24):
they going to do next? Batman.
Well, that movie. They're going to do world's.
Yeah, they're going to. Do World.
'S finest. They're going to do world's
finest. I didn't even think of that.
That's the next comic book movieto come out is.
Super. By the way, I've I, I'm going to
come back to this. Yeah, Dad, Sure.
Yeah, I'm, I'm, I'm with everything you guys said because

(01:01:45):
I have a new thought that is more important than my other
thoughts. So I don't really care about
those now. So this is where we should end
the show. Sure.
Sure. Why not?
The best move? I'm gonna test you both.
They could make an unbelievable splash post Superman.

(01:02:07):
That would be big. What is it?
A wait, a splash. That would be big.
W Superman. W.
Zetti's the halfway there. That's the first part.
Wonder Woman. Yeah.
Oh, what? Now what's the real part?
Adrian, the actual casting what is Adrian Irana is Wonder Woman.

(01:02:28):
Zetti with the Gold Star? Yeah, James Gunn has already
uttered her name. I think that was very strategic.
She's also dating Lobo in real life, just.
Saying that's great, yeah, and that's good for him.
But I'm telling you, her stock is like right there.
It is what? Yeah.
It would push it would become dude, the stock is right there

(01:02:51):
and I think that movie would be huge.
No, I'm I'm telling you that movie would be it absolutely
would that that movie. I would tell you of that year
get it's somewhere between the 809. 100 ever ever since Ando
she's. Like she's like gold.
Biggest actress. She's been slowly getting there,
Yeah. People still don't fully know

(01:03:13):
who she is. She's right there.
And I, I, I know we've been backand forth between her.
There's Barbara. There's other.
People, but no but. I would bet on her own young but
also being, you know, yes, she is with Jason Momoa.
So that could become like. A no, but like the I think you
can see. It that would be a very popular
thing global wonder like that would be a big thing gun re

(01:03:37):
teams. It's he's he's putting it out
there. He's made a movie with her.
It would be big. A lot of people would be into
that. I'm telling you, a lot of
people, if they don't do it, it's a mistake.
Now, I think that's the only person.
I think, yes, there's other people who can and will be big,
but I think Wonder Woman could become bigger than like on the

(01:04:03):
level of Batman and Superman. Like she could become really
that big in the next couple years.
Really that big. Kearns is relevant.
Well, yeah, all of a sudden now.Now they want to do the Wonder
Woman movie, right? All of a sudden I'm.
Telling you dude, it's farther. Away.
I'm I'm betting I'm seeing it. I would bet I'm seeing it.
Oh, that, that movie is easily coming out in the next, like,

(01:04:27):
three to four years, like, give or take.
Like, I do think it's going to be that soon, yeah.
Amen. Yeah. 100% Well, could you
believe that that the dawn before me and Mr. CC.
I know. Wow I mean, some things are just
pure irony in life, man. You know, I just can't like wow.

(01:04:50):
But no, this is this is surreal, man.
So the next time you hear from 2/3 of us, I guess, and
obviously we will wait to see and we can't wait for you.
Will have a spoiler react free reaction.
We will. We will have a spoiler free
reaction on Superman. Wow that that feels unreal to
say but can't wait. So, Mr. Steve, tell everybody
where they can find you. Let's yes, everybody can find me

(01:05:13):
over at the exit. Nick Caruso junior come see me.
And we are also going to be ramping up pretty soon again.
Our Right Between the Ice podcast with drummer Rob 10, Rob
Myers, our great friend, 3 generations of the rock group
KISS fans, me, my son who's right across the screen from me,
again, getting some exciting stuff for KISS, their 50th year

(01:05:33):
anniversary. We got, we know there's going to
be some major announcements coming out within the next
couple months and we're going toget back on that train and we
are going to go full throttle. Turn on the night air, turn on
the night Gale. Go ahead, Nico.

(01:05:54):
By the way, time out for one second.
I just want you guys to understand something, man.
I've been watching the cup game in the background.
I'm monkey the whole time we're doing this show.
I've seen like the 4th Superman commercial, Dairy Queen.
I mean, I don't know that Marvel's going to do this.
This is this marketing that they're doing, Nick.

(01:06:15):
They're going to. This is kind of next level.
They didn't do this for The Batman.
Dude, Little Caesars had the pizza calzone man, come on man.
They were doing this shit dude, they do this has like milk and
cereals and. Shit, now I got a taste for a
calzone Dude dude. For Across the Spider verse they
had a red bun whopper. It was grotesque.

(01:06:38):
It's the most disgusting shit I've ever seen.
People got the red bun, they putthe buns in.
Red. Your teeth turned red.
Your soul, your poo is red. Oh brother in Christ I feel you
because it is a lot. But don't be telling me the
Dairy Queen shit's next level. It's a fucking Blizzard dog.

(01:07:00):
Like it's fine. It's fine.
Oh man, it's so funny. You can find me everywhere.
Nico Caruso, Twitter, Instagram,Letterbox, Nico knows film,
YouTube, TikTok, which the review will be out after
everyone sees it. So what I'll say about that,
though, that's exciting is then I get to do like what I did for
the material is where I review it, but I also get to talk about

(01:07:22):
it more spoilers and things likethat.
And that was honestly the, I think the best video I've ever
done. Yeah.
And so I am, I'm very proud of that.
So I am excited to do that with Superman because I think there's
going to be a lot to talk about, including discourse around
discourse leading up opinions and I have some comic knowledge

(01:07:43):
now to be able to to talk about.I will say this feels like what
Holtz Lex is. I see it in this more than more
than any of them. I see it in more than any of
them. This one, call me crazy from the
stuff I read, but like this one feels like a really young 1.
He feels like I know he's sayinghe's old, but he feels like

(01:08:05):
Nicholas Holtz. That's the vibe I'm getting so.
It's the Lex and All Star. Right.
I guess that's yes. Sorry, I meant Lex and All Star.
Not for all seasons, but he's good.
He's very good in there. And Zeddy.
Yeah, you as my dad. I think the Cubs scored because
now my dad's going great. Oh yeah.
There you go. Nice, nice.
No, no, of course. Well, I'm sure can't wait to see

(01:08:26):
the movie with you brother, and can't wait to review it.
That's going to be really, really fun one both with me and
Mr. C and I've seen when you come hop on with us.
So I cannot wait. Follow some vigilance and
activity. I know of course on Twitter,
leave us a rating and review. As I said off the top, I
continue to support us on Spotify.
We are killing it on there. So thank you so much for the
support on there. And of course, I'm on Twitter

(01:08:48):
letterbox at Nick Zennick. I do have a spoiler free review
audio only for Jurassic World Rebirth.
That's audio only. So go check that out.
Maybe there might be one for theBear Season 4.
We will see. Yeah.
Yeah, but I will also a quick plug as box office beyond.
We'll be back with myself and Carlos.
We're going to we're going to wait till Superman comes out so

(01:09:09):
we have some more like official projections and we'll have a
bigger show to kind of digest and breakdown the summer box
office in full form. And on the comic side, you guys
might, just maybe might hear me talking some Jeff Lemire, Robin
and Batman with a certain gentleman.
Don't want to give that away just yet, but just be on the.
Left is that the Lemire 1? It is the Lemire 1.

(01:09:29):
That's a good story, The three-part 1.
It is so cannot wait to come back.
No, I'm doing it with a good funof the show and I will save
because I don't think he wants to review.
Oh, wait, wait, wait. Yes, I know, I know.
Yeah. Should not.
Spoil his. Show may let.
Let's not spoil that, but it's because I'll be.

(01:09:50):
I will also be on his show. Dad, you got to get your dad and
go big scare. We gotta tell you what this is.
There you go. So it's probably that one very
excited, but that about doing man.
So obviously everyone good firstone.
To do hope. Everyone enjoy Superman and we
will see you all very, very soon.
For Nico Crusoe for his father, Nick Crusoe Junior.

(01:10:11):
My name is Zanigan, as Superman says in the movie.
Hey buddy, eyes up here, Look up.
Superman. Take me, homeboy.

(01:11:03):
The.
