Speaker 4 (02:48):
Good morning everyone, and welcome everyone here. We have a
pretty full house today in some new faces, so I'm
just really glad that everyone is here. And uh, as
you well know, this is the daily lessing, the m
of a word book of a course of miracles, and
our lesson for today is Lesson two hundred and seventeen,
(03:12):
which we are in the seventeenth day of our review.
I'm not a body, I am free for I am
still as God created me. And uh I feel it
is uh important that since we do have some new faces,
(03:36):
that we review or at least visit the idea once
again of why we are here. When I say we
are here, I am not speaking of you know, you've
walked into a building, although that is included t to
hear a lesson. Why are you here? Your whole per
(04:00):
purpose for being here, and you are here now, and
since you are here, I mean, life cannot be about, uh,
just fumbling around, bumping into everything like you are a
billiard ball on a table. For Heaven's sake, this is
objective reality. That you have a purpose for being here.
(04:25):
That is true of you, that is true of every
living thing. So your purpose must be given you by
your source of reality, by your creator. And so if
there is, let's say, an acknowledgment by you, that that
(04:51):
is your reason, your for being, all that you're about,
your purpose. Everything that you engage in in your mind,
in your actions, and in your thoughts, words and deeds
is simply for the single purpose. I cannot you know,
(05:21):
everything changes, I cannot speak of that. And so we
get together, we do our lesson. I mean, truthfully, we
could stay at home in our bedrooms and do our lessons.
But the fact is we're gathered here to bring to
mind our purpose for being here, and let's say review
(05:49):
what we are about right now, what we are about today,
what we are here for. Right So today's lesson, of course,
is I'm not a body, and you can say it
to yourself. I'm not a body. I am free for
(06:09):
I am still as God created me. That is the
these twenty lessons, these twenty reviews, is our practice of
that idea, which is not just words that we say,
but it is in fact the truth. You are not
(06:32):
a body, you are free, you are still as God
created you. So let us just begin again with the
introduction to these lessons. I'm just gonna start from the
(06:56):
beginning and read it through. For this review. We take
but one idea each day and practice it as often
as is possible. Is consider that for a second, we're
taking this I we're taking this idea and practicing it
(07:17):
as often as is possible. How often is that every
single moment? It's a mindfulness. Are you willing to be
mindful of facts? It's a fact you're not a body,
you are free. It is a fact. It can be.
(07:40):
But my gratitude I earn that's a fact. Okay, that's
our idea for today. By the way, So are you
willing to practice it. And when we say practice, we're
not talking about you know, well, I'm gonna remember to
do this, say this, and then be about whatever I'm doing. Now,
(08:01):
this is a willingness, And dare I say to embody it?
Because here you are right. I am not a body,
I am not this. You are not that. You are free,
and since you are free, you are also free to
(08:25):
I'm looking for the words here. But you are free
to assume a true purpose. It's not that your purpose
is up to you to decide, but having believed you
can make a purpose for yourself other than what your
true purpose is, you must make the decision to accept
(08:50):
a true purpose. So you know, in this whole mind training,
we're not about it's not about beating yourself up about
what the right way to think or the wrong way
to think, or the correct concept to hold. No, the
fact is all power is given unto you in earth
(09:13):
and heaven. Your mind is all power. Now you have
attempted to deny that power and assume an identity that
you could never have been. But you did not change
the nature of your mind, and so everything you're experiencing
(09:38):
is your own denial of your own reality. I'm sorry,
I'm looking at you. I hope that's okay. You've taken that.
But this is you, and so what could it be
but pain, sickness, suffering, and your death. It's the idea
(10:00):
of a limited self. So we're literally gonna take and
sweep the decks clean. I am not a body. If
I'm not a body, nothing's a body. I'm not a body.
You're not a body. You know why. There's no such
thing as body. Body. This idea of body is only
(10:21):
a temporary, a momentary thought. It's a thought doesn't really
have substance except for that you've given it the meaning
of substance to try to maintain in your mind, this
idea of a separate self. Do it all right? This
(10:44):
is not philosophical. I mean it is philosophical, but it's
not about just the philosophy. This is a Our practice
is concerned with a real experience of yourself. Beyond this,
(11:05):
it is all inclusive, or as jud likes to say,
it is non exclusive. Right, it is whole, It is total.
It is you. So we're not looking at trying to
(11:27):
negate anything. We really see that everything is as God
created You are as God created you, and so is
every living thing. That's the fact, all of the meaning
(11:49):
that you have given everything does not exist. Alright, So
let me just get back to the introduction. I've pologize
for carrying on. All right, So, besides the time you
give morning and evening, which should not be less than
fifteen minutes, and hourly remembrance you make throughout the day,
(12:14):
use the idea as often as you can between them. Listen,
each of these ideas alone would be sufficient for salvation
if it were truly learned. Each would be enough to
give release to you and to the world from every
(12:37):
form of bondage and invite the memory of God to
come again. This is such an incredible idea. Everything is
always just in the moment. Yeah, So this is an
incredible idea. All power is given unto you and Earth
(12:57):
and Heaven right now. If you are willing, and it
is willing you don't make this happen. The idea of
yourself is you have conceived of yourself actually doesn't have
any meaning at all. But as you truly are right now,
(13:17):
which you don't actually have anything to say about, is
all power. So in your willingness to practice the idea,
you are literally consistent. If I say it that you're
willing is in line with the truth of what you are.
(13:41):
It cannot fail. It absolutely cannot fail. You cannot fail it.
Failure is not an option. It's just not. And if
you believe you fail, who is the you that has failed?
Can't be what God created? Who is that? No? Failure
(14:03):
is not an option. This is the relinquishment of an
idea of yourself, as you could never be all right.
Each idea alone would be sufficient for salvation if it
were truly learned. Each would be enough to give release
to you and to the world from every form of
bondage and invite the memory of God to come again.
(14:26):
With this in mind, we start our practicing in which
we carefully review the thoughts the Holy Spirit has bestowed
on us and our last twenty lessons. This is an
interesting idea of carefully reviewing. We're going to be told
how to carefully review. It's nothing more than just being mindful.
(14:50):
But when we say being mindful again, and I will
say it once again, it's not about just a repeating
of a statement and then you just put it to
the side. A careful review would be literally taking the
idea into every thing, every moment, every action, every everything.
(15:19):
You're mindful of the idea, I'm not a body, I
am free, for i am still as God created me.
You are still as God created you. What concern could
you possibly hold? Just consider that for a second right now,
(15:46):
For you are still as God created you. So all
your concerns and your considerations, what about this, what about that?
Are literally you're putting the idea aside and taking another
(16:08):
idea that you believe to be yourself, which is simply
not true. It is not true. You see, you're so
accustomed to believe that your thoughts don't really have power.
So you think that if you render your thoughts in
uh without power, you think they're impotent, that you can
(16:29):
just think whatever you think and you don't experience the
consequences of that. The fact is you're experiencing the consequences
and the results of your thoughts each moment that you
do not have anything to say about. So if you
want to continue to believe that you are that body
limited suffering with a whole set of problems different from
(16:52):
everybody else's problems, so it will be with you. Now
you are being given. Each of us is being given
and I'm not saying this as though I'm instructing you.
This is you know what you should do. No, I'm
speaking for my own realization and my own need for
(17:14):
an answer as many of us here. When I say
here here physically in this room, and also those tuned
in and everywhere, we are speaking of our recognition and
realization of what we have been given and what has
(17:37):
been revealed through our own experiences. So we're not just
saying these things and hope they may be true. No,
we have experienced and there is no limit to that experience.
There is no limit to it. So as we continue
to practice, it's not like, oh now I got it
(17:57):
and I can go back to doing whatever. No, that
has nothing to do with it. I have a purpose.
You have a purpose, and you have nothing to say
about it. Actually, the truth is you have a purpose
and a function. God would have you feel that you
really don't have anything to say about what you believe
(18:19):
you have something to say about? Is that? Is not that?
But the fact is is your being and your purpose
are one, all right, So let's just get back to this, okay.
So with this in mind, we started practicing in which
we carefully review the thoughts the Holy Spirit has bestowed
(18:40):
on us. In our last twenty lessons, each contains the
whole curriculum. Each contains the whole curriculum. If listen, understood, practiced, acceptance,
(19:00):
and applied to all the seeming happenings throughout the day,
that says a lot. So you understand, you practice, accept
and apply to all seeming happenings throughout the day. They
(19:25):
don't seem to be to you, They are to you, right,
so you're really seeing as you understand, practice, except and
apply that they are seeing happenings. Why you are not
a body, You are free for you are still as
God created you. That is not a definition that has
(19:50):
nothing to do with what you believe God is or
what you believe God isn't. It has nothing to do
with what you can conceive of in this little idea
of yourself. One is enough. But from that one there
must be no exceptions made. And so we need to
(20:13):
use them all and let them blend, blend as one
as each contributes to the whole. We learn. Alright, So
were these lessons? These practice sessions, like our last review,
are centered around a central theme which we start and
end each lesson it is this once again, practice it
(20:33):
with me. I am not a body. I am free,
for I am still as God created me. The day
begins and ends with this, and we repeat it every
time the hour strikes, or we remember in between we
(20:54):
have a function that transcends the world we see beyond this,
and a special repetition of the thought we practiced for
the day. No form of exercises urge except a deep
relinquishment of everything that clutters up the mind and makes
(21:17):
it deaf to reason, sanity, and simple truth. There's no sentence.
I have to paraphrase it because I do not remember
it verbatim from the text, and that is you neither
(21:39):
need to be careful nor careless, but cast his cares.
Cast your cares upon him who cares for you. Literally,
you are free. You are free. Do you see that
you that this is a let's say, a replacement for
(22:05):
your premise of yourself. Your premise of yourself, your foundation
is the belief in a separate self identity that is
not true. Everything stems from that basis. And so if
you want to deal with all the branches on your tree,
and I'm using metaphor here, you want to deal with
(22:27):
all the branches on your tree and think there's a
whole bunch of things to deal with. So be it.
Now we are dealing here with the foundation. Everything else
takes care of itself. I'm not a body. I am free,
for I am still as God created me. So you
(22:51):
can let go and relinquish everything that clutters up your
mind all your concerns considerations about this is that in
everything anything, truth literally does correct all errors in your mind. Truth.
(23:13):
And so you're literally investing as you're willing to practice
in truth. You allow, are willing for yourself to be
as you are, not that you ever could have changed it,
(23:35):
but you are ceasing to oppose yourself as you allow
and relinquish all the crap that does clutter up your mind.
All right, So no form of exercise is urged except
(23:57):
a deep relinquishment of every thing that clutters up the
mind and makes it death to reason, sanity, and simple truth.
I just reread the last bit. We will attempt to
get beyond all words and special forms of practicing in
this review, for we attempt this time to reach a
(24:22):
quickened pace along a shorter path to the serenity and
peace of God. We merely close our eyes. Do this
now we merely close our eyes and then forget all
that we fought, we knew and understood. For thus is
(24:48):
freedom given us from all we did not know and
failed to understand. There is but one exception to this
lack of structuring. Permit no idle thought to go unchallenged.
If you notice one, deny as hold, and hasten to
(25:10):
assure your mind that it is not what you would have.
Then gently let the thought which you'd denied be given
up ensure and quick exchange for the idea we practice
for the day. When you are attempted, hasten to proclaim
your freedom from temptation as you say this thought, I
(25:33):
do not want. I choose instead. I am not a body.
I am free, for I am still as God created me.
It can be but my gratitude I earn. It can
(25:57):
be but my attitude I earn. Who should give thanks
for my salvation? But myself? And how but through salvation
can I find the self to whom my thanks are due.
(26:22):
I am not a body. I am free, for I
am still as God created me. All Right, beyond such
special applications of each day's ideas, we add but a
(26:47):
few formal expressions or specific thoughts to aid in practicing. Instead,
we give these times of quiet to the teacher, who
instructs in quiet speaks of peace, and gives our thoughts
whatever meaning they may have. Now this is Jesus speaking
(27:15):
directly to you. To him, I offer this review for you.
I place you in his charge, and let him teach
you what to do and say and think. Each time
you turn to him. He will not fail to be
(27:40):
available to you each time you call to him to
help you. Let us offer him the whole review we
now begin, and let us also not forget to whom
it has been given as we practice day by day,
(28:01):
advancing towards the goal he set for us, allowing him
to teach us how to go, and trusting him completely
for the way each practice period can best become a
loving gift to a loving gift of freedom to the world.
(28:23):
I am not a body. I am free for I
am still as God created me. It can be but
my gratitude I earn who should give things for my
salvation but myself? And how but through salvation can I
(28:46):
find the self to whom my things are due. I
am not a body, I am free for I am
still as God created me.

Speaker 4 (41:14):
So we have a few more minutes, and I thought
what I would do is read a section from the text.
Is a very very beautiful section. It's called the Forgotten Song.
And there's one other comment that I would like to say.
If you can allow for the fact that since the
beginning of time and in all of time, everything has
(41:41):
been telling you of your nature, of your perfection in God,
the only adjustment that ever need be made is the
recognition that you have misperceived. Let it go, forgive, let
it be shown anew. God is in everything I see,
(42:04):
because God is in my mind. It's every single lesson
You are as God created you, and so is every
living thing, regardless of the images you see. That is
a fact. So let us be with that and We're
(42:25):
going to finish up by reading from chapter twenty one,
the Forgotten Song. Never forget. The world the sightless see
must be imagined, for what it really looks like is
unknown to them. They must infer what could never Sorry,
(42:49):
let me start again, They must infer what could be
seen from evidence, Forever indirect and reconstruct their inferences as
they stumble and fall because of what they did not recognize,
or walk unharmed through open doorways that they thought were closed.
(43:11):
And so it is with you. You do not see.
Your cues for inference are wrong, and so you stumble
and fall down upon the stones you did not recognize,
but fail to be aware. You can go through doors
you thought were closed, but which stent open before unseeing
(43:31):
eyes waiting to welcome you. How foolish is it to
attempt to judge what could be seen? Instead, it is
not necessary to imagine what the world must look like.
It must be seen before you recognize it for what
(43:55):
it is. You can be shown which doors are open,
and you can see where safety lies, and which way
leads to darkness, which to light. Judgment will always give
you false direction. Judgment will always give you false direction.
(44:17):
But vision shows you where to go? Why should you
guess there is no need to learn through pain and
gentle lessons are acquired joyously and are remembered gladly. What
gives you happiness you want to learn and not forget.
It is not this you would deny. Your question is
(44:41):
whether the means by which this course is learned will
bring you the joy of promises. If you believed it would,
the learning of it would be no problem. You are
not a happy learner yet, because you still remain uncertain
that vision gives you more than judgment does, and you
have learned that both you cannot have. The blind become
(45:06):
accustomed to the world by their adjustments to it. They
think they know their way about in it. They learned
it not through Joy's lessons, but through the stern necessity
of limits they believed they could not overcome. And still
believing this, they hold those lessons dear and cling to them.
(45:31):
Because they cannot see, they do not understand the lessons
keep them blind. This they do not believe, and so
they keep the world they learned to see in their imagination,
(45:52):
believing that their choice is that or nothing. Consider that
for a second, you cling to what you believe and
think is reality, because you think your choice is that
or nothing. They hate the world they learn through pain,
(46:15):
and everything they think is in it serves to remind
them that they are incomplete and bitterly deprived. Thus they
define their life and where they live, adjusting to it
as they think they must, afraid to lose a little
that they have. And so it is with all who
(46:35):
see the body is all they have, and all their
brothers have. They try to reach each other, and they fail,
and fail again. They adjust to loneliness, believing that to
keep the body is to save the little that they have. Listen, listen,
and try to think if you remember what we will
(46:58):
speak of. Now listen, perhaps you can catch a hint
of an ancient state, not quite forgotten, dim perhaps, and
yet not altogether unfamiliar, Like a song whose name is
(47:21):
long forgotten, and the circumstances in which you heard completely unremembered.
Not the whole song is stayed with you, but just
a little wisp of melody attached not to a person
or a plete, a place, or anything particular. But you remember,
(47:47):
just from just this little part, how lovely was the song,
how wonderful the setting where you heard it? And how
you loved those who were there and listened with you.
The notes are nothing, yet you have kept them with you,
(48:07):
not for themselves, but as a soft reminder of what
would make you weep if you remembered how dear it
was to you you could remember, Yet you are afraid,
believing you would lose the world you learned since then.
(48:27):
And yet you know that nothing in the world you
learned is half so dear as this. See listen, and
see if you remember an ancient song you knew so
long ago and held more dear than any melody you
(48:51):
taught yourself to cherish. Since beyond the body, beyond the
sun and stars, and past everything you see, and yet
somehow familiar is an arc of golden light that stretches
(49:12):
as you look into a great and shining circle, and
all the circle fills with light before your eyes, the
edges of the circle disappear, and what is in it
is no longer contained at all. The light expands and
covers everything, extending to affinity, forever shining, with no break
(49:39):
or limit anywhere within it. Everything is joined in perfect continuity.
Nor is it possible to imagine that anything could be outside,
for there is nowhere that this light is not. This
is the vision of the Sun of God, whom you
(50:00):
know well. Here is the sight of him who knows
his Father. Here is the memory of what You are
a part of this, with all of it within and
joined to all, as surely as all is joined in.
(50:21):
You accept the vision that can show you this and
not the body. You know the ancient song and know
it well. Nothing will ever be as dear to you
as is this ancient hymn of love. The Son of
(50:43):
God sings to his Father still, and now the blind
can see, for that same song they sing in honor
of their creator gives praise to them as well. The
blindness that they made will not withstand the memory of
the song, and they will look upon the vision of
(51:06):
the Son of God, remembering who he is. They sing up.
What is a miracle but this remembering? And who is there?
And whom this memory lies? Not? The light in one
(51:26):
awakens it in all. And when you see it in
your brother, you are remembering for everyone. Wow, thank you
so much. That does conclude our lesson for the day.
And I just must close and saying I love you
(51:52):
with all my heart as we love each other, because
we are that we are that light. We are not this.
This is just a bad idea. Seems serious, but it's
just a bad idea. So I love you and all
of you are here. Please do stay with us for
(52:13):
the video, and all of you who are tuned in,
we encourage you to also stay with us and watch
the video of the day with the Master Teacher. And
right now we are in the musical Mind training. This
is a fun series and we are reviewing. Oh I
say reviewing. We are doing the last twenty lessons these
ten days, and today our focus is on lessons one
(52:39):
eighty seven and one eighty eight. I bless the world
because I bless myself and the peace of God is
shining in me now. And just be with that. All joy,
all happiness, all peace, all love. Everything that you are
is present here and now, and we rejoice in the
(53:00):
fact that we are as God created us. I love you.
Have a most wonderful day. You have been listening to
voice from Heaven live in the Miracle Healing Center. Remember
(53:23):
that God's voice speaks to you all through the day.
Speaker 8 (53:27):
That God goes with you wherever you go, and that
God is the mind with which you think.
Speaker 4 (53:34):
God bless us everyone,
