LESSON 226
My Home Awaits Me. I Will Hasten There.

If I so choose, I can depart this world entirely. It is not death which makes this possible, but it is change of mind about the purpose of the world. If I believe it has a value as I see it now, so will it still remain for me. But if I see no value in the world as I behold it, nothing that I want to keep as mine or search for as a goal, it will depart from me. For I have not sought for illusions to replace the truth.Father, my home awaits my glad return. Your Arms are open and I hear Your Voice. What need have I to linger in a place of vain desires and of shattered dreams, when Heaven can so easily be mine?

Speaker 6 (04:46):
Speak good morning and welcome to this morning's episode of

(05:17):
the daily lesson.

Speaker 5 (05:19):
From the work book of a Course in Miracles. And
as you heard in that song, what an amazing lesson
that we have today. You are everything to me. It's me.
I'm coming home too. And of course I mean it's
a giveaway, isn't it in terms of the title of
the lesson. My home awaits me. I will hasten there, wow.

(05:45):
And of course in that lesson I'm plowing right into it. Anyway,
Have I said welcome and thank you and I love you? Okay?
Because welcome, thank you, I love you. You are everything
to me. So let's get run into the lesson. One
of the things that will strike you about today's lesson

(06:08):
is that it addresses the purpose of the world. The
purpose of the world and the idea of the purpose
of the world is something that we know are looked at.

(06:28):
And I'm talking about the real purpose of the world.
Because the purpose that you've given the world obviously is sickness, pain,
old age, and death and separation. And clearly that isn't
really a purpose that can ever be attained. And we
know that the world we see has nothing to do
with reality. It's of our own making and it doesn't exist.

(06:52):
But as we have clung to it, there is another
purpose that we can give at the purpose of freedom,
of purpose of forgiveness, And all it really requires from
us is a change of mind about the purpose of
the world. Okay, So anyway, I thought I would take

(07:14):
a look at the purpose of the world, and of
course we already know what it is. But let's take
a look again at one of the preambles to today's
lesson in the text of A Course in Miracles, in
chapter thirty, towards the end of the text. And it

(07:37):
is actually a section in the text in chapter thirty
called the real Purpose. Okay, and so let's just take
a look at what that says before we go any
further here. And oh, it's not the real purpose, the
only purpose, all right, So chapter thirty the real world

(08:01):
is the state of mind in which the only purpose
of the world is seen to be forgiveness. Wow, fear
is not its goal, for the escape from guilt becomes
its aim. The value of forgiveness is perceived and takes

(08:23):
the place of idols, which are sought no longer for
their gifts quote unquote are not held dear. No rules
are idly set, and no demands are made of anyone
or anything to twist and fit into the dream of fear. Okay,

(08:44):
you really begin to see the release that is offered here,
the release that really you must then, should I say
engage in engage seems like a really strange word for release,
but that's what it is. You have to really let

(09:04):
go of your ideas of what the world is, of
what you are, of any of it, and that action
of release we know, of course to be forgiveness. But
let's continue here for a second. No rules are idly said,
no demands are made of anyone or anything to twist
and fit into the dream of fear. Instead, listen to this.

(09:29):
There is a wish to understand all things created as
they really are, and it is recognized that all things
must be first forgiven and then understood. Wow, all things

(09:50):
must first be forgiven and then understood. So we've come
I mean, it is stated so clearly here that the
purpose of the world is forgiveness, and it has to
be seen to be forgiveness before we really begin to

(10:11):
attain if you like the real world, which is really
a whole different state of mind. So then you ask
me what is forgiveness? And here we go. Forgiveness recognizes

(10:33):
what you thought your brother did to you has not occurred,
has not happened. What you thought your brother did to
you has not occurred. Wow, hasn't happened, Never happened.

Speaker 3 (10:59):
It.

Speaker 5 (10:59):
Do not pardon sins and make them real. It sees
there was no sin, And in that view are all
your sins forgiven. What is sin except a false idea

(11:20):
about God's son. Forgiveness merely sees its falsity, and therefore
lets it go. What then is free to take its
place is now the will of God. So we're really

(11:40):
speaking here, aren't we of a completely different way of being?
A way of being that is literally based on the
recognition that the world you see has nothing to do
with reality. It is of your own making, and it

(12:01):
doesn't exist. What you thought your brother did hasn't happened.
That's an amazing idea when you think about it, because
you do think in terms of doing and achieving results

(12:21):
by doing, you know, making a world in separation. So
so and so has done such and such, and its
effects are somehow real and concrete, so that you're doing

(12:48):
the way that you see it has real effects. Forgiveness
recognizes that you're doing has no effect. The world I
see has nothing to do with reality. It is of
my own making. You even say, it's of my own

(13:10):
doing and does not exist. What you thought your brother
did has not occurred. It's not true. What you've based
all your emotions on, all your reality on, is not

(13:32):
true what you thought. That's an amazing idea. You know
your brother did this, your sister did this, your father
did this, your mother did this, and this all this
all accomplished something real that has effect on you and

(13:57):
is acting on you. That's not true.

Speaker 7 (14:01):
What you thought your brother did has not occurred. That's
an amazing idea. Let your mind go there for a moment,
really begin to see and feel for yourself the implications

(14:22):
of that statement. Wow, everything changes.

Speaker 5 (14:29):
Huh. An unforgiving thought is one which makes a judgment,
as it will not raise to doubt to see what
the what the how your mind has been working up
until now, almost like a is it a snap dragon.
It just it snaps onto things and they become real.

(14:51):
It will snap onto a word, it'll snap onto an idea.
It just snaps onto it. And I always come act
to this, this whole idea of political correctness, and how
certain words have now become so huge and you snap

(15:13):
onto them and they cause you a great deal of distress.
And I always like to use what we call the
N word, the word nigger. I can say nigger because
I'm black, that word nigger, and you kind of snap
onto it. He said, nigger. You must destroy him, you

(15:36):
must destroy his career. This word is unacceptable. Oh he
used a gay slur. He said this word, and now
my life is destroyed. That is amazing. It's snapped onto it. See,

(16:02):
you hold on to that idea that this is a
bad word and it means this, and it reminds me
of that on bame. And you won't raise that to doubt.
You won't even open up to.

Speaker 8 (16:13):
The idea that this is just a word. It has
no effect, it.

Speaker 5 (16:17):
Has no meaning except the meaning that you give it.
Isn't that great? Think about that for a second. You
see what has offered you. Here is your own freedom.
That's an amazing idea. You defend your politics, you defend
you defend your ideas, you defend your judgments, You defend

(16:41):
your opinions, and they become real to you, and you
won't open them up to doubt. You will not open
them up to question. You won't raise them up to
really be looked at in the light of day. You
won't allow the light shine on it and see that
it is nothing. That's extraordinary, isn't it. That's what an

(17:05):
unforgiving mind does. And then you really begin to see
what forgiveness offers. You see that tightly that constriction in
which you held yourself can actually be opened up. It
can now be released. Ah, you can take a breath,

(17:26):
see the light and know the light and go home. Wow,
let's continue. What a great read. This is, what a
great thing. An unforgiving mind, an unforgiving thought is one
which makes a judgment that it will not raise to
doubt although it is not true. The mind is closed

(17:50):
and will not be released. The thought protects projection, tightening
its chains so that distortions are more veiled and more obscure,
less easily accessible to doubt and further kept from reason.
What can come between the fixed projection and the aim
that it has chosen as it's wanted go Absolutely nothing.

(18:13):
You have to release it, You have to let it go.
Nothing can come between you and what you want.

Speaker 8 (18:19):
That's just the fact of the matter.

Speaker 5 (18:20):
What you hold onto. An unforgiving thought does many things
in frantic action. It pursues its goal twisting and overturning
what it sees as interfering with its chosen path. Distortion
is its purpose and the means by which it would

(18:41):
accomplish it. As well. It sets about its furious attempts
to smash reality without concern for anything that would appear
to pose a contradiction to its point of view. That
is why it is so toxic to you if you

(19:02):
like to want to be right, because your point of
view you really believe is right, and you have no
idea the devastation it has rought on your mind and
everything around you. Just look around you, you know, I mean,

(19:27):
what was in the news this morning in London. You
know some guy has just you know, plowed his pickup
truck into a crowd or into pedestrians. Now, whatever reason
he's doing it, It could be a jihadist, it could
be anything. But whatever reason he's doing that he believes

(19:49):
is right. That's his point of view. To smash everything
should protect my points of view. But what you really,
what he doesn't see, is that he's only hurting himself.

(20:13):
That holding on to that idea, that belief in a
separate reality is all the pain. It's all the destruction,
all the sickness, all the death, is that single idea
that you are separate from your creator and from everything,

(20:40):
and that I can do something as a separate entity,
that I can do something, whatever it is. Wow, is
an amazing thing. Forgiveness, on the other hand, is still.
I love how this is written, you see, because you

(21:04):
see the whole thing, your points of view, the constriction,
you feel it all. And then forgiveness You feel the
release immediately, just at the mere mention of the word. Forgiveness,

(21:24):
on the other hand, is still and quietly does nothing.
It offends no aspect of reality, nor seeks to twist
it to appearances. It likes. You feel the relief of

(21:46):
that immediately. It merely looks and waits and judges. Not Wow.
You begin to see that this is a state of
mind This is a state of your mind that releases yours.

(22:09):
He who would not forgive must judge, for he must
justify his failure to forgive. But he who would forgive himself. Ah,
you hear that word. You begin to see that forgiveness

(22:31):
is of yourself. It's not out there. It's that constriction
in your mind that you're releasing. It's that idea of
a separate identity that you're letting go.

Speaker 9 (22:45):
You see.

Speaker 5 (22:47):
That he who would forgive himself must learn to welcome
truth exactly as it is. Ah, do nothing then, and
let forgiveness show you what to do. Through him who

(23:10):
is your guide, your savior, and protector, strong in hope,
and certain of your ultimate success, He has forgiven you already,
for such is his function given him by God. Now

(23:36):
now must you share his function and forgive whom he
has saved, whose sinlessness he sees, and whom he honors
as the son of God. And that's you. Wow, Wow,

(24:00):
what an amazing, amazing idea. So let's take a moment here. Wow,
we'll take a moment and we'll play a song. It's
a very oblivious song. Here we go, m.

Speaker 9 (24:33):
I will be still an instant.

Speaker 10 (24:41):
And go.

Speaker 9 (24:46):
Mm hmm. I will be still an instant m hm,
and go My kingdom is not of this world. This

(25:16):
is not where I belong.

Speaker 11 (25:21):
I will be still an instanment angle m.

Speaker 2 (26:35):
H m hmm.

Speaker 9 (26:43):
I will be still in school.

Speaker 1 (26:50):
And go.

Speaker 2 (26:51):
Hold.

Speaker 9 (26:57):
I will be still an instant.

Speaker 12 (27:03):
Mm hmmm, angle ho, my kingdom is not of this world.

Speaker 9 (27:22):
This is not where I belong. Will be still an instant.

Speaker 13 (27:34):
Angle Well, thank you so much DoD for that beautiful piece.

Speaker 5 (28:06):
As you know that is from less than one eighty two.
I will be still an instant and go home. But
it's not just a recital of a lesson. That's what's
happening here now. This is what we have come together
to do, to be still an instant and go home.

(28:29):
And that's that's that joy and freedom that we are
feeling in the release, in the forgiveness, because it's impossible
to go home without forgiveness. It's literally impossible. You can't,
you can't get out of this idea while you're still

(28:50):
holding on to it, and so you have to be
still an instant and go home. That is the sim
of taneous relinquishment or forgiveness if you like, of yourself. Wow,
and so let's then take a look at today's lesson,

(29:17):
and it's less than two twenty six. And what does
it say? My home awaits me. I will hasten there.
My home awaits me. I will hasten there, my home,

(29:38):
the Kingdom of God, life itself, in.

Speaker 14 (29:42):
Which I am created, the arms of my Father, the
essence of my being, my reality awaits me.

Speaker 5 (30:00):
I will hasten there. I will be still an instant
and go home. I will't delay. I will hasten who
it's all I am about. If I so choose, if
I so choose, Wow, I can depart this world entirely.

(30:32):
That's the truth right here, right now. It's nothing stopping you.
Thank you. Wow, it's nothing stopping you. See, it's really
really important to see that this is this is a

(30:56):
shift in your mind. This is a change of mind.
Be at home, That's an amazing thing. Be at home now.

(31:16):
Let God be now, Let God be here, Let God
be in everything. See what we mean by a change
of mind. So you're not going anywhere, departing the world.

(31:40):
Has a change of mind about yourself. Remember what you
thought your brother did has not occurred. The judgments, the
definitions that you've given everything is not what it is. Remember,
God is in everything. You see, everything without exception. Here

(32:06):
and now the air you breathe, the light, you see. Well,
didn't we just do this in two twenty two? God
is with me.

Speaker 6 (32:16):
I live and move in him.

Speaker 5 (32:18):
That's an amazing idea. That's now, that's here. Let it
be here, Let it be now. Wow. If I so choose,
I can depart this world entirely. It is not death
which makes this possible, but it is change of mind

(32:40):
about the purpose of the world. We saw this already
in less than two one hundred. There is no peace
except the peace of God. I must change my mind
about the purpose of the world. Right here and right now.

(33:03):
I let God be now. I let God be here.
God is with me. I live and move in him.
He is the air, I breathe, the water. He's everything

(33:23):
right here. That is amazing.

Speaker 3 (33:31):
Wow.

Speaker 5 (33:32):
My home awaits me. I will hasten there. If I
believe it has a value as I see it now,
so will it remain me as I see it? See?
It's a change of mind. It's the how. That's an

(33:55):
amazing idea. If I believe it has a value as
I see it now, so will it still remain for me.
But if I see no value in the world as
I behold it, nothing that I want to keep as
mind or search or as a goal, it will depart

(34:18):
from me. For I have not sought for illusions to
replace the truth. And so the key is in as
you behold it, how you see.

Speaker 8 (34:33):
It, And that's where the change occurs. Let it be
godly completely. See nothing as outside of you, See nothing
as outside of creation, See God in everything.

Speaker 5 (35:04):
Your sight becomes holy. It's a new vision. It's a
new way of seeing. It's a whole way of seeing.
It's amazing, isn't it. It's a mindfulness. Wow, here and now,

(35:29):
it's incredible. It's a real experience, isn't it. Let go,
and you let God. You let go of your own picture,
of how you've configured it, of your own definitions, of

(35:53):
your own judgment, and you let God. You're still for
an instant, and go home. Right here, right now, Father,
my home awaits my glad. Return. I love that word. Return,

(36:19):
Return your mind to God. It's a change your mind
about the purpose of the world. Wow, it's completely within you.

(36:40):
That's amazing. Father, My home awaits my glad. Return. Your
arms are open and I hear your voice. That's here,

(37:01):
that's now, that's you in communion with God, with the father,
your father, my father. Wow. What need have I to

(37:23):
linger in a place of vain desires and of shattered dreams?
When heaven can soule easily be mine?

Speaker 2 (37:38):
Wow? Wow?

Speaker 5 (37:43):
Okay, So let's play a song. And I think you
already know the song I'm going to play, but just
in case you don't, here it.

Speaker 15 (37:51):
Is softly enough to back the curtains, open, the windows,

(38:12):
full of the vines, softly enough, fedding the lie in heavenly.

Speaker 2 (38:22):
Every so divine.

Speaker 1 (38:26):

Leading, the lie.

Speaker 15 (42:41):
Heading, the lie.

Speaker 2 (42:46):
Hetting, the lie letting the line.

Speaker 5 (43:22):
Wow, Heaven is indeed calling. My home awaits me. I
will hasten there. Wow, my home awaits me. I will
hasten there. If I so choose, I can depart this
world entirely. It is not death which makes this possible,

(43:45):
but it is change of mind about the purpose of
the world. If I believe it has a value as
I see it now, so will it still remain for me.
But if I see no value in the world, does
I behold it nothing that I want to keep as
mine or search for as a goal. It will depart

(44:07):
from me, For I have not sought for illusions to
replace the truth. Father, my home awaits my glad return.
Your arms are open, and I hear your voice. What

(44:29):
need have I to linger in a place of vain
desires and of shattered dreams when Heaven can so easily
be mine. Wow, I have no reason whatsoever to linger
longer in a place where I do not belong. Heaven

(44:54):
is mine. It is given me by my Father, and
I will return to Him right here and right now
with you as one holy blessed son of God. I
love you with all my heart. I thank you from

(45:18):
the bottom of my heart for joining me in this endeavor,
in this moment. I love you always, and I will
see you everywhere as we go our way, rejoicing in
the endless love of God, hastening, not delaying one instant,

(45:41):
hastening to our home forever and forever. I love you,
and so we're going to tune in now to the
Master Teacher right here on acimi dot com and on
the Master Teacher dot TV. We leave home with him forever.

(46:06):

you all through the day. That God goes with you

which you think.
