LESSON 227
This Is My Holy Instant Of Release.

Father, it is today that I am free, because my will is Yours. I thought to make another will. Yet nothing that I thought apart from You exists. And I am free because I was mistaken, and did not affect my own reality at all by my illusions. Now I give them up, and lay them down before the feet of truth, to be removed forever from my mind. This is my holy instant of release. Father, I know my will is one with Yours. And so today we find our glad return to Heaven, which we never really left. The Son of God this day lays down his dreams. The Son of God this day comes home again, released from sin and clad in holiness, with his right mind restored to him at last.

Speaker 7 (01:55):

Speaker 6 (01:57):
And the clow.

Speaker 5 (02:28):
Good morning, and thank you so much. And as you
well noted, we opened with the Lord's prayer, and actually
as we do this morning lesson, and I just want
to say welcome and thank you for being here, and

(02:49):
thank everyone who's tuned in for being here as well.
And as you know, we're doing and Jimmy did a
whole thing with doing yesterday, so we won't get into that,
but we are performing in our minds the lesson of
the day, which is not really any different than the

(03:09):
Lord's prayer. That as we practice when we call it practice,
but there is no difference between practicing and performing. If
you're using the idea of an instrument as an illustration,
when you're practicing to learn how to play an instrument,
there's no difference between your practicing and actually playing right.

(03:31):
So this is actually the way it is with the
mind training. There's no separation. There's no distance in sitting
here right now willing to perform the lesson. And when
I say perform, it's not a performance as though as
you're demonstrating it to anybody other than yourself, you really

(03:52):
are in an action in your mind. And what we
have come to learn through this course in Miracles, through
all the instruction that we've received and given us to
the Master teacher as well, is that everything is an
idea that each moment you are demonstrating performing if you will,

(04:17):
for yourself what you believe to be true about yourself.
This is the opening for the Manual for Teachers. Okay,
So now we have been given a mind training, the
workbook of a course in Miracles, and we've been given
the mind training as another way that as you have

(04:44):
rehearsed so much in your idea of yourself, that you
are learning that it is not the way. It is
that truth is true and nothing else is true. And
so we've come to this lesson for today, which UH

(05:07):
is Lesson to twenty seven, and we are UH reviewing
the idea of what is forgiveness, And our lesson today
is this is my holy instant of release, this instant,

(05:29):
this is my holy instant of release. And so that
is why we are here. That is why you are
here in its entirety. And again, if you did not
hear yesterday's broadcast, I strongly recommend that you listen to it.
I know you did. And Jimi talks about purpose because

(05:53):
you're being here has a purpose, not the purpose you
have given yourself, but a true purpose. And so you're
allowing yourself to align with that purpose. And as you
align with that purpose, the purpose is your only purpose

(06:15):
is one of forgiveness. As you align to that purpose,
everything proceeds from that base. That basis. So uh, what
I like to do right now is just take a
moment and play a song and give ourselves an opportunity

(06:40):
to unburden our minds of everything so that we can
approach this lesson anew, we can hear it freshly, and
then we will carry on. So with that, let us
begin with as a s song. Yes, I must swallow

(07:22):
a scot.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
Beggins to fall.

Speaker 4 (07:31):
The road below me.

Speaker 6 (07:35):
He is older than old.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
Must spel something, I must spillow, I must follow something to.

Speaker 6 (07:53):
I must spell. It's everything you can and fine.

Speaker 3 (08:01):
Of the love God.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
Behind owned up and darkness falls. Where take the memories
from your shoes.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
Does them of them, make them, own them up.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
In darkness falls, when them up and loved, When the

(08:49):
space of weary.

Speaker 5 (08:53):
He is made of.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
The world of nothing, mays grow me fain, and I
must fall something I must funnel, I must fall on something.

(09:19):
I must funnels everything you can find on the love
dot you, that we might put it up in dark
mass spots.

Speaker 6 (09:40):
O take the merries from.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
Your shoes, douse them of them, made them, won them
up in darkness, spots them mana.

Speaker 6 (10:06):
So begainst me is older than old.

Speaker 4 (10:22):
And I must have something.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
I must fun.

Speaker 4 (10:31):
I must follow something to.

Speaker 6 (10:36):
I must fuddle.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
I must follow, I must fuddle, I must fall, I
must fund.

Speaker 5 (11:06):
So we are recognizing that we must follow home because
we really don't have a choice in it. We have
become and become aware of the fact that the world
we see holds nothing that we want. We've come to
the point where we admitted there's nothing here for me. Okay,

(11:29):
So as a prelude to our lesson for today, which
we are in the again I'm repeating myself, but we
are in the section of what is forgiveness, and this
is My Holy Instant of Release is our prayer lesson
for today. So as a prelude to that, what I'd
like to do is look at chapter fifteen for a moment,

(11:54):
because it is concerning the Holy Instent and the section
that we're going to look at, and I'm going to
do it in its entirety because it pretty well lays
out everything you could possibly need to know concerning your
practicing this Holy Instant of your release. So I'll give

(12:20):
lordus a moment to turn to it. Chapter fifteen. Oops,
I'm dropping my microphone here. Okay, Now listen to this
opening sentence and this we can each take too heart.
This course is not beyond immediate learning. It's chapter fifteen

(12:46):
and the section is practicing the Holy Instant. I don't
know what number it is, probably like the fourth or
the fifth. This course is not beyond immediate learning unless
you believe that what God wills takes time. And this
means only that you would rather delay the recognition that

(13:10):
His will is so. The Holy Instant is this instant,
and every instant the one you want it to be.
It is the one you would not have it be
is lost to you. You must decide when it is delay.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
It not.

Speaker 5 (13:41):
For beyond the past and the future, where you will
not find it. It stands in shimmering readiness for your acceptance.
Yet you cannot bring it into glad awareness while you
do not want it, for it holds the whole release

(14:01):
from littleness. This is an incredible idea because he says
here and I'm I'm just gonna repeat it. But as
I repeat it, it is incumbent upon me to take
it to heart, because it is so as it is
so for you. So you really are faced, if you will,

(14:25):
with the acceptance of what your choice is, because you
are making a choice every moment. The holy instant is
this moment? Do you want it to be so? Or
do you want it? Or do you not want it?
But you are making that choice every instant. Let's just

(14:46):
do this first sentence once again. This course is not
beyond immediate learning unless you believe that what God wills
takes time. So now I'm gonna carry on to the
second paragraph. Your practice must therefore rest upon your willingness

(15:10):
to let all littleness go. The instant in which magnitude
dawns upon you is but as far asway as your
desire for it as long as you desire it, not
and cherish littleness instead. By so much is it far

(15:33):
from you? By so much as you want it it
will uh, let me do that again. But so much
as you want it, will you bring it near? This
is an idea of this, this idea of laying littleness

(15:54):
aside or letting it go. What you're really saying here
is I cannot be sick, I cannot get old, I
cannot die, I cannot suffer. See, you need the littleness,
You need the idea of limitation to justify your own

(16:20):
attack upon yourself. And so remember, and we've been reading
it now for six days, and we're going to read
it again, what is forgiveness? What you think your brother
did to you has not occurred. So you begin to
see that what you feel has occurred to you is

(16:46):
there by your own desire for littleness. Okay, Now this
does not make you guilty. It makes you mistaken, but
it does not make you guilty. Nothing happened in truth.
And so as you practice, you see that the key

(17:11):
is always in your hand. You know always. And the
great part about this is that you are free to
change your mind each instant you are not bound by

(17:36):
any of it, alright, So I'm going to continue to read. Now,
think not that you can find salvation in your own
way and have it. Give over every plan you have
made for your salvation in exchange for God's His will

(17:58):
content you, and nothing else can bring you peace. For
peace is of God, and no one beside Him, be
humble before Him and yet great in Him, and value

(18:19):
no plan of the ego before the plan of God.
For you to leave empty your play your place in
His plan, which you must feel if you would join
with me by your decision to join in any plan
but his, I call you to fulfill your holy part

(18:48):
in the plan that He has given to the world
for its release from littleness. God would have his host
abide in perfect freedom. Every allegiance to a plan of

(19:10):
salvation apart from Him diminishes the value of His will
for you in your own mind. And yet it is
your mind that is host to him. Would you learn
how perfect and immaculate is the holy altar on which

(19:34):
your father has placed himself. Just consider that for a second.
Would you learn how perfect and immaculate is the holy
altar on which your father has placed himself this you
will recognize in the Holy Instant, in which you willingly

(19:55):
and gladly give over every plan. But it is for
their lies peace, perfectly clear, because you have been willing
to meet its conditions. You can claim the Holy Instant
any time and anywhere you want it. In your practice.

(20:25):
Try to give over every plan you have accepted for
finding magnitude in littleness. It is not there. Use the
Holy Instant only to recognize that you alone cannot know

(20:46):
where it is and can only deceive yourself. Isn't it
interesting that always, when you're preoccupied with your own ideas,
is always for your own safety or what you think
you need or what you think you want and how
you're gonna be happy? And what is this?

Speaker 1 (21:07):
And what is that?

Speaker 5 (21:08):
If you consider it and you think that's normal, that
is the whole human condition. Now this is the undoing.
Remember we just practice twenty lessons. I'm not a body,
I am free. But every idea you hold concerning your
plan for finding magnitude is always about your body. The

(21:37):
idea of you alone, you alone. So it is a
belief that you are alone, that you are a separate self.
So you're going to give it all over this is forgiveness.

(21:59):
Use the Holy Instant. I'm just repeating the least sentence.
Use the Holy Instant only to recognize that you alone
cannot know where it is and can only deceive yourself. Now, listen,
this is Jesus, and you have to allow for the

(22:21):
fact that we are one self. You are oneself united
with your creator. Because you want to make Jesus something else. No,
he is yourself recognized, recognizing himself, knowing himself as God

(22:49):
created him, and you along with him not different. Listen,
this is a very personal statement. I stand within the
Holy Instant as clear as you would have me, and

(23:13):
the extent to which you learn to accept me is
the measure of time in which the Holy Instant will
be yours. I call to you to make the Holy
Instant yours at once, for the release from littleness in

(23:34):
the mind of the Host of God depends on willingness,
not on time. The reason this course is simple is
that truth is simple. Complexity is of the ego, and
is nothing more than the ego's attempt to obscure the

(23:56):
obvious forever in the Holy Instant, beginning now and reaching
to eternity. But for a very simple reason. Do not
obscure the simplicity of this reason, for if you do,
it will be only because you prefer not to recognize

(24:17):
it and not to let it go. The simple reason,
simply stated is this, the Holy Instant is a time
in which you receive and give perfect communication. This means, however,

(24:40):
that it is a time in which your mind is
open both to receive and give. It is the recognition
that all minds are in communication. It therefore seeks to
change nothing, but merely to accept everything. How can you

(25:05):
do this when you would prefer to have private thoughts
and keep them. This reminds me of the Early Lessons,
and one of the reviews of the Early Lessons, he says,
wouldn't you rather join the thinking of the universe rather
than keeping your own pitiful of private thoughts? I don't
remember exactly how he stays it, but it's pretty much

(25:28):
like that. Wouldn't you rather join the thinking of the universe?
The only way you could do that would be to
deny perfect communication. That makes the Holy Instant what it is.
You believe you can harbor thoughts you would not share,

(25:52):
and that salvation lies in keeping thoughts to yourself alone.
What is forgiveness. Forgiveness is letting it all go. It
is not true. Is opening your mind to receive and

(26:14):
to give the whole communication. It is the release, the
letting go of the obstacle to the awareness of Love's presence.
We say it over and over again, many many ways,

(26:39):
because it is our only purpose. You believe you can
harbor thoughts that you would not share, and that salvation
lies in keeping thoughts to yourself alone. For in private
thoughts known only to yourself, you think you find a

(27:01):
way to keep what you would have alone and share
what you would share. And then you wonder why it
is you are not in full communication with those around
you and with God, who surrounds all of you together.
Every thought you would keep hidden shuts communication off because

(27:26):
you would have it. So it is impossible to recognize
perfect communication while breaking communication holds value to you. Ask yourself, honestly,
would I want to have perfect communication? And am I
wholly willing to let everything that interferes with it go forever?

(27:52):
If the answer is no, then the Holy Spirit's readiness
to give it to you is not enough to make
it yours. You are not ready to share it with him,
and it cannot come into a mind that has decided
to oppose it. For the Holy Instant is given and
received with equal willingness, being the acceptance of the single

(28:16):
will that governs all thought. Now listen, The necessary condition
for the Holy Instant does not require that you have
no thoughts that are not pure, but it does require

(28:42):
that you have none that you would keep. Innocence is
not of your makings. It has given you the instant
you would have it. At Onement would not be if
there were no need for it, And you will not

(29:03):
be able to accept perfect communication as long as you
would hide it from yourself. For what you hide is
hidden from you. Consider that for a second, what you
hide is hidden from you in your practice. Then try

(29:28):
only to be vigilant against deception, and seek not to
protect the thoughts you would keep to yourself. Let the
Holy Spirit's purity shine them away and bring all your
awareness to the readiness for purity he offers you. Thus,

(29:48):
will he make you ready to acknowledge that you are
host to God and hostage to no one and to nothing.
All right, I just wanted to play one really quick
song and then we will be about practicing our lesson.

(30:15):
Mm hmmm, what is forgiveness? What is forgiveness? Forgiveness recognizes

(33:29):
what you thought your brother did to you has not occurred.
It does not pardon sins and make them real. It
sees there was no sin, and in that view all
your sins forgiven. What is sin except the false idea

(33:54):
about God's son forgiveness? It really sees its falsity, and
therefore lets it go. What is then free to take
his place is now the will of God. Wow, it

(34:18):
didn't happen. Everything that you thought occurred never happened. It
was only in your own dream of a separate self
that could hold private thoughts. That is simply not true. Yet,

(34:50):
the mind that you are is not capable of sin
or guilt. It's wholly illusory. An unforgiving thought, Now listen
to this as you look about in your own nightmare

(35:14):
and your own dream, and things seem to be going
on and occurring. This is as base as listen. An
unforgiving thought is one which makes a judgment that it
will not raise to doubt although it is not true.

(35:35):
The mind is closed and will not be released. The
thought protects projection. Tightening is changed so that distortions are
more availed. And more obscure, less easily accessible to doubt,
and further kept from reason. What can come between a

(35:58):
fixed prediction and the aim that it has chosen as
its wanted goal. An unforgiving thought does many things in
frantic action. It pursues its goal, twisting and overturning what

(36:20):
it sees as interfering with its chosen path. Distortion is
its purpose and the means by which it would accomplish
it as well. It sets about its furious attempts to
smash reality without concern for anything that would appear to

(36:45):
pose a contradiction to its point of view. Forgiveness, on
the other hand, is still and quiet. Does nothing. It
offends no aspect of reality, nor seeks to twist it

(37:09):
to appear appearances it likes. It merely looks and waits
and judges. Not he who would not forgive must judge,
for he must justify his failure to forgive. But he

(37:31):
who would forgive himself must learn to welcome truth exactly
as it is. Do nothing, then, and let forgiveness show
you what to do. Through him who is your guide,

(37:51):
your savior, and your protector, Strong in hope and certain
of your ultimate success, He has forgiven you already, for
such is his function given him by God. Now must

(38:12):
you share his function and forgive whom he has saved,
whose sinlessness he sees, and whom he honors as the
son of God. Wow. Remember, and I'm just going to
repeat that one sentence that we read from the text.

(38:35):
This course is not beyond immediate learning. Is the holy instant?
This instant, Yes, it is okay, So to our lesson,

(38:56):
This is my holy instant of release. HER's our prayer. Father.
It is today that I am free because my will
is yours. I thought to make another will, Yet nothing

(39:25):
that I thought apart from you exists. And I am
free because I was mistaken and did not affect my
own reality at all by my illusions. Now I give
them up and laid them down before the feet of truth,

(39:49):
to be removed forever from my mind. This is my
holy instant of release. Father. I know my will is
one with your. And so today we find are glad
return to heaven, which we never really left. The Son

(40:13):
of God this day lays down his dreams. The Son
of God this day comes home again, released from sin
and clad in holiness, with his right mind restored to
him at last. So that's just read the prayer one

(40:43):
more time and then I'll put on some music. Father.
It is today that I am free because my will
is yours. I thought to make another will, yet nothing
that I thought, apart from you exists. And I am
free because I was mistaken and did not affect my

(41:06):
own reality at all by my illusions. Now I give
them up and lay them down before the feet of truth,
to be removed forever from my mind. This is my
holy instant of release. Father. I know my will is
one with yours, all.

is tuned in to stay with us as we continue
with our practicing of the Holy Instant. And uh watch

(56:20):
the video of the day. And when we say watching you,
we're not observing it, but rather we are engaged in
the action of Mine that has given us through the
Master Teacher, who is absolutely in full recognition of himself
and you along with him. This is this you know.

(56:43):
Jesus says, I am the Way, the Truth and life.
This is his course in miracles. This his his expression
and yours of the Way, the Truth and the life.
So I wanna thank you once again for being here.
I love you and we will rejoice in the love

(57:05):
of God. So have the most wonderful day.

Speaker 9 (57:15):
You have been listening to voice from heaven live in
the Miracle Sealing Center. Remember that God's voice speaks to
you all through the day. That God goes with you
wherever you go, and that God is the mind with
which you think.

Speaker 5 (57:32):
God bless us everyone,
