Speaker 2 (02:10):
The suspect, who has caught.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
A short time later, is a sixteen year old who
was arrested for burglary and underage possession of a gun.

hear from quarterback Marcel Reed coming up in sports.
Speaker 11 (03:55):
All right, there we go.
Speaker 8 (03:56):
It's just it's just like gets almost moments away.
Speaker 11 (03:59):
We're also excredat it is.
Speaker 10 (04:00):
Yeah, I think the second it's what tomorrow's August August first,
Then that's when it gets real.
Speaker 11 (04:04):
It's like, hey, this is this month. That's right, it's happening.
Speaker 8 (04:07):
Yeah, we play in August this year, right last year too,
Maybe I don't know they did.
Speaker 11 (04:12):
Yeah, I know there's a lot of coming. So here
we go.
Speaker 8 (04:14):
Seventy six degrees. Still still feels pretty nice out there today.
Later on it'll get hot. Don't have to worry about that.
Speaker 11 (04:21):
Great news. Great news.
Speaker 8 (04:22):
I think we may have found there's there's a study
that may we may be able to change our lives
when it comes to microplastics.
Speaker 11 (04:31):
How to cut down on microplastics.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
We talk about him almost weekly on the show.
Speaker 11 (04:35):
Yeah, well, but here's the reason.
Speaker 8 (04:37):
We apparently in every breath we take, we take in
three to four microplastics.
Speaker 11 (04:44):
Oh okay, so all the time, and it.
Speaker 8 (04:47):
Does, and we breathe a lot no avoiding them, and
then we drink out of all sorts of plastic things.
But we may we may have you know, we'll we'll
find something.
Speaker 11 (04:55):
We'll see.
Speaker 8 (04:55):
In the meantime, Mark Zuckerberg is now telling us that
his company, these artificial intelligence will bring super intelligence to everybody.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
Oh okay, so we're all going to be super intelligent.
Speaker 10 (05:08):
Good, here's the thing I could use that.
Speaker 11 (05:13):
There are days? What is that going to do to
Florida man? M I mean, oh, we don't want smart
Florida BA. We don't. I mean, we want Florida man
to be doing what Florida man does. Keeps us entertained
because you still have to use.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
The AI and like know that it exists in order
to be super intelligent. Point, just because the technology is there,
doesn't mean that everybody's going to use it.
Speaker 11 (05:36):
Yeah, I suppose so.
Speaker 8 (05:39):
Growing up interacting with screens as many young people are now.
Speaker 11 (05:43):
Makes you wonder exactly how.
Speaker 8 (05:45):
People can deal with each other face to face. And
we talked about We've had stories about college graduates who
had to learn how to deal with people because they
were COVID kids or whatever. There's that gap and they
don't know how to interview, don't know how to take
a client out to lunch whatever. So now there is
friend Zone. Friend Zone offers classes in Singapore in how
(06:07):
to be human.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
It's so sad, it is, but I get it, I
really do.
Speaker 10 (06:14):
They talked about the people that answer the phone and
don't say anything, right, I mean.
Speaker 11 (06:18):
That's not really weird.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
The other day I saw it was it was the
most hilarious.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
It's these two content creators, these these two girls, and
they recreated like an interaction at a like a hit
new coffee shop, and the one working behind the cashier
is gen Z and the other one who's ordering is
a millennial. And it was you know, it's hard to
describe without just watching the video, but it was the
most perfect depiction of somebody my age like going in
(06:46):
and asking, so, you know, like what kind of options
do you have? And the gen Zer behind the cashier
just staring at me blank stare going.
Speaker 10 (06:57):
You have.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
And we have almond milk? And then I go, okay,
can I can I get that? Like frotht or is
there like you know, like what kind of process?
Speaker 12 (07:09):
You know?
Speaker 1 (07:09):
Millennials like trying to explain everything in the most technical
way and the gen Z are just going.
Speaker 8 (07:18):
Over the years, especially after the pandemic. We've noticed more
participants in our events struggle with social interaction, such as
avoiding eye contact, preferring to interact with their phones. The
classes include desk talk, which would be work interaction.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
Well, yeah, I mean desktop for teachers, like can I
be an instructor?
Speaker 11 (07:44):
That would be great?
Speaker 3 (07:45):
Right?
Speaker 10 (07:46):
That seems like such an easy gig, and to teach
someone how to be a human.
Speaker 11 (07:50):
Until well, I mean, yeah, you see what you're working with.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
Exactly exactly you you you will know the curriculum.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
It does not mean that the students will be easy
to teach.
Speaker 11 (08:03):
No oh man.
Speaker 8 (08:04):
And again, I like in this day, as they say
to the tennis ball and the snake, I mean, this
is a group, and this is a cluster of people
that will move through their lives still lacking a whole
lot of the things that they need now, and the
ones after them and the ones before them may be
able to interact successfully. My concern though, is the ones
behind them even younger, because from day one they're looking
(08:25):
at a.
Speaker 11 (08:25):
Screen rather than talking to people.
Speaker 8 (08:27):
I mean they once their parents quit looking at them
face to face or a teacher does, who else looks at.
Speaker 11 (08:32):
Them face to face? In their life.
Speaker 8 (08:33):
Yeah, scary thing. Maybe the person that's the jack in
the box who hinjure your food. I'm not sure.
Speaker 11 (08:38):
Maybe.
Speaker 8 (08:38):
But desk talk, there was a time when you hated
that Harry, who was two desks down was there because
he'd come over and talk your ear off and you'd
have to stop doing what you're doing to interact with Harry. Well,
now people don't know how to do that. They talk
about sustaining adult friendships and the school of yapping, which
(08:59):
is focus on small talk, just played plain small. Two
thirds of the students are women. That's because women.
Speaker 11 (09:08):
Understaring the importance of it, right man.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
The guys probably think they're better at that stuff than
they actually are.
Speaker 8 (09:16):
Or they didn't know they had to think about that
like false confidence info. Maybe wait a minute, you think
that guys have false confidence? Wow, yeah, we're just not
interested in that.
Speaker 11 (09:29):
That's what that is.
Speaker 8 (09:30):
Maybe, Okay, Anyway, apparently Singapore, one country in the world,
is trying to do that.
Speaker 11 (09:37):
Until we try it.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
Here, I guarantee you there are classes here already somewhere.
Speaker 11 (09:43):
Hey, that's who we are. We're just a phone call away.
You want to call us your textas right here?
Speaker 1 (09:46):
Yeah, the number is nine seventy nine, six nine five,
sixteen twenty.
Speaker 11 (09:50):
You know, here's the deal.
Speaker 8 (09:51):
I was in Walmart yesterday two days ago, and I
asked for where was something? And the person takes me there,
and I'm thinking that would be a great entry level
job for people who need to try to socialize. Oh, sure,
you learn the store, you know where everything is, and
somebody goes, where are your hamburger buns or whatever? Then
you walk them there. You actually could talk to them
(10:13):
maybe why you're going. You know, you may not want to,
but then you're helping those people out. You have to
look them in the eye. I mean, that could happen.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
Yeah, it was interesting because when I went to Low's
the other day, I told you that story, and I
actually the first employee I asked really didn't understand what
I was looking for and just kind of pointed me
in a general direction, which wasn't correct. And then the
second person I asked for knew exactly where it was
located on the you know, thirty fourth aisle.
Speaker 11 (10:40):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
And so sometimes it just also takes asking a couple
of different people do that.
Speaker 8 (10:44):
And those are the people who rise on the ladder.
Right now, especially right now all right, here we go.
Speaker 11 (10:48):
It's the last day of July.
Speaker 8 (10:49):
It's avocado day. All right, there you go, avocado day.
It can be good, they can. Indeed, it's chili dog day.
Speaker 11 (10:56):
All right. Don't ask what the chili is. Don't eat
nine man.
Speaker 10 (10:59):
I made some chili dogs a couple of weeks ago
that were so good. But I did it kind of
like a gourmet recipe. Bro man, you get chili dogs,
did bougie chili dogs. It was just so here's let
me give it you. Yeah, you get.
Speaker 11 (11:13):
You take three Kings Hawaiian rolls, but you don't break
them up.
Speaker 10 (11:16):
You cover them in garlic butterplit the top, and then
on the blackstone you put a bunch of grated cheese,
so you fry that cheese directly on the blackstone. Then
you put your chili on it, You put the hot
dog in it, you wrap it, and then you put
that in the King's Hawaiian.
Speaker 11 (11:33):
We just now hearing about that.
Speaker 10 (11:34):
I'm telling you what this it's a chili dog. So
so bear with me. You think gross, This thing was
FANTASTICA said last night, you've got to make these this
weekend because we're having our nieces in town.
Speaker 11 (11:46):
She said, you gotta do it.
Speaker 12 (11:47):
Well.
Speaker 8 (11:47):
The thing that the cheese is brilliant right there, because
you're wrapping it in like a cheese blanket exactly right, yeah,
and then.
Speaker 10 (11:54):
It crusts into like this crispy it's like a crispy
cheese blanket, and then put it in the cheese.
Speaker 11 (12:01):
Blame. They are fins.
Speaker 1 (12:02):
That might be one of my favorite breads ever. That's
sweet them They were.
Speaker 11 (12:11):
They were good before I covered them in garlic butter.
Speaker 8 (12:14):
They are, ah yeah, the garlic butter. Yeah, I forgot that.
Speaker 11 (12:17):
Well.
Speaker 8 (12:17):
And here's the deal. I haven't had them but once,
and I don't know if they still make them. H
TIB used to make brisket hot dogs. Hot dogs with brisket.
Speaker 11 (12:26):
Okay, yeah, that's good.
Speaker 8 (12:28):
You don't have to feel about hot dogs. That would
be pretty good. And this whole thing, actually, you could
just put together a cheese log and put you don't
even have to put a hot dog in there. You
could put like a cheese log and put chili in
it and and cheesy bread.
Speaker 11 (12:42):
All right, not bad? All right, So chili dogs any
way you want to do them?
Speaker 1 (12:45):
Cotton candy day, Oh okay, I've never really loved it.
Like I think when I was a kid, I thought
it was it was cool because it just like dissolves
in your mouth and it's sweet. But I just I
still wasn't like Jones in for cotton candy whenever we
were at the fair or the carnival.
Speaker 8 (13:01):
Well, it's magic to see it made.
Speaker 11 (13:02):
Yes, there's no doubt about that.
Speaker 2 (13:03):
That's a very like neat thing like or cool food.
Speaker 10 (13:07):
But it's cool because like you just said it, but
I remember taking a bite and being done with it.
Speaker 2 (13:12):
And have you ever eaten one out of eating it
out of a bag?
Speaker 11 (13:15):
I know they exist.
Speaker 1 (13:16):
Yeah, it's not good, it's yeah. I mean, if you're
gonna do it, you gotta do it fresh out of.
Speaker 11 (13:20):
The machine, exactly. The real thing.
Speaker 8 (13:23):
Yeah, the next time the circus is that post okemall
just go over there and get yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
Yeah, but yeah they sell it, you know, just to
make it cheesy. Yeah yeah, and you open it and
it's just like it's like.
Speaker 13 (13:33):
A pillow, it's nothing but sugar. Yeah, it's in turn day.
We need those, that's for sure. That they help us
out with all sorts of stuff. It's jumped for jelly
beans day. If you want to do that day.
Speaker 8 (13:45):
Hey, yeah, that's for sure, Raspberry cake day. That's rather
specific a spam day, not the food, the thing that
the you know, you get. Kim Commando talks about every day,
Shredded Wheat Day if you like, shredded wheat and uncommon
Instruments Awareness.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
Day, uncommon instrument that you just don't see.

Speaker 11 (15:45):
Listen to games.
Speaker 8 (15:46):
They wanted to be able to listen to the games
when the team was far away or whatever, if they
moved away, And that was the whole idea to come
up with broadcast dot com where you could be broadcasting
your your radio station, your team whatever.
Speaker 11 (15:59):
He sold it for five point nine billion dollars. Yeah.
His net worth right now is six bill yeah, cook.

News time is six thirty, it's seventy five degrees.
Speaker 11 (16:54):
Good morning.
Speaker 1 (16:55):
I'm Chelsea reberb The first draft by Republicans in the
Texas legislature to draw Congressional district maps for next year's
midterm election impacts much of the Brass Valley.
Speaker 3 (17:05):
The first map shows Braws's Burls and Grinds of Madson
Counties would remain in the tenth district that's represented by
Michael mccaull, but McCall would lose Washington and Waller Counties,
among others. Tenth district would go east to include most
of Walker and all of Leon County, among others. The
seventeenth district, represented by Pete Sessions, would keep in the
Brass Valley Robertson and Milham Counties and lose the northern
(17:27):
half of Walker County. Bill Oliver sixteen to twenty ninety
four to five WTAW.
Speaker 1 (17:32):
The state Senate voted twenty to nine yesterday to ban
hemp consumables containing THHC. Charles Perry of Lubbock authored Senate
Bill five.
Speaker 11 (17:40):
CBD and CBG will still be legal.
Speaker 14 (17:43):
Additionally, hold hemp seeds, hemp seed, protein powder, kempseed all
will remain legal.
Speaker 1 (17:49):
Opponents say the ban of hemp containing THCHC will lead
to the closure of eight thousand stores. Brass County commissioners
this week approved seeking bids from outside companies to repair
the parking at the Brazza Center. County Engineer Prothana Banerjee
said they have the people and the expertise to do
the repairs, but not the equipment for repaving and restriping.
Speaker 5 (18:08):
It's just not time and a cost conducive to put
in money in something like that for just a small project.
Speaker 1 (18:16):
A speaker during public comments about the parking lot project
brought up developing next year's county budget, something which drew
a response from Acting County Judge Kyle Kassel.
Speaker 4 (18:25):
All departments will be under review and looking to do
the county's business economically as the will of this court.
Speaker 1 (18:32):
Commissioners unanimously approved seeking bids and named the committee that
will review the bids. The JC Penny Store at Post
Okemall will have a new owner soon. It is one
of one hundred and nineteen stores being sold to a
private equity company in Boston by a trust which acquired
the stores when Pennies filed for bankruptcy reorganization. The sale
price of the one hundred and nineteen stores is nine
(18:52):
hundred and forty seven million dollars. The sale is scheduled
for closing on September eighth. Earlier This month, the Brian
City Council approved a rental agreement with a new summer
collegiate baseball league to play at Travis Field Stadium starting
next year. Now you have the opportunity to suggest the
name of the new team. Officials of Mid America League
Baseball issued a news release to submit team names at
(19:14):
the website Baseball.
Speaker 11 (19:16):
In Brian dot com.
Speaker 1 (19:18):
Joining Brian next year in the malb Are NACADOCHIS in Beaumont.
This year's franchises included for Texas Cities Tech Sarcana, Abilene, Sherman,
and the Longview suburb of White Oak. Dirt is moving
at the site of a thirty three million dollar retail
in housing development in East Brian. Brian Mayor Bobby Gatirez,
speaking on our show, says developers are working on other
(19:40):
retail tenants to join ChB and.
Speaker 6 (19:42):
Hopefully all that stuff will continue on and we should
know real quick if we're going to be on that
shortlist the break ground next year. This year, the end
of this year. They have a timeline that they've got
to meet to get the incentives that we have given
them as City Brian.
Speaker 11 (19:53):
So we're very confident it's going to happen soon.
Speaker 1 (19:56):
In December of twenty twenty three, the Brian City Council
gave developers seven years to complete the retail component on
land bordered by Boonville, Briarcrest and Green Valley Drive. In return,
the city will reimburst almost one million dollars in infrastructure
costs and pay for traffic signals when needed at Boonville
and Merrimont and at Briarcrest and Green Valley. The state
(20:16):
prison system has announced to lockdown at nineteen units. The
list of affected units does not include any in Brasis
or Grimes County. Social media from the Texas Department of
Criminal Justice as the lockdown is to address a recent
surge in dangerous contraband and drug related violence. The social
media does not say if there are any casualties to
corrections officers and or inmates, or if there's been any
(20:39):
damage to prisons and or equipment. The lockdown means higher
custody inmates are under restrictive movement and visitation has been canceled.
Normal operations will resume at the affected prisons after completing
comprehensive searches of the inmates living areas. Here's another reminder
from College Station Police to lock your vehicle and not
leave keys or valuables inside cspd's Facebook page. As officers
(21:02):
responded Tuesday night to a woman who reported her vehicle
was stolen, but she was tracking it because it's equipped
with a GPS device. The vehicle was found abandoned and
rummaged through, and was returned to the victim.
Speaker 2 (21:13):

Speaker 1 (21:14):
Facilities in College Station and Brian are closed through Sunday
as the cities and Texas A and M hosts thousands
of amateur athletes and visitors for the Games of Texas.
College Station City manager Brian Woods provided an update at
the end of the last council meeting.
Speaker 14 (21:28):
We shut down our parks both from the standpoint of
we're using some of those splaces and obviously it's an
all hands on deck situation for parks. So I know
we're getting close to the end of summer and people
are out using those parks, but for those days they
will be closed down.
Speaker 1 (21:40):
This is the eighth time the twin cities have hosted
the event, which this year is anticipated to draw twelve
thousand athletes and visitors. The city's websites have lists of events, locations,
and ticket information. WTAW news time is six thirty five

Speaker 8 (22:48):
Airplane going from Salt Lake City to Amsterdam yesterday encounter turbulence,
injured twenty five passengers. They had to land in mind
Alis to get these people treated.
Speaker 11 (23:02):
That's some serious.
Speaker 1 (23:05):
I read somewhere the other day that turbulence is getting
worse and and so, and I didn't go.
Speaker 11 (23:11):
Read the article.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
I'll have to do a little look see and see
if I can find it, but it did say that
turbulence is getting worse. And there was you know, it
was like what airlines are doing to you know, I
don't know.
Speaker 2 (23:21):
I saw something and that reminds me.
Speaker 1 (23:24):
It was like supposed to be funny on social media,
but I actually thought it was a brilliant idea. They
were like, why do we still have beverage carts? Like
let's talk about beverage carts, and when we have the
technology to make like touchscreen order systems, like, how are
we not you know, implementing that. And I'm sure you know,
obviously there's expenses and things, but imagine if you're at
(23:44):
your seat, you can place an order for your drink,
like whatever you decide to get, and then the flight
attendants can deliver it that way versus doing the and
then that way if you're asleep you don't want to drink,
like they don't even bother. But then instead of them
coming up and down with the beverage cart, and we
talk about the turbulence, and then if you've got to
go to the bathroom and you're getting blocked by the
beverage cart, or your elbow takes one because of the
(24:07):
beverage car.
Speaker 11 (24:08):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (24:08):
I just I feel like with all of the the
you know they put Wi Fi on freaking airplanes at
this point, like, how could we not do a better
way of ordering drinks?
Speaker 10 (24:17):
Surely there's a more efficient way, right to get the
drinks ordered.
Speaker 11 (24:21):
Pretty that's a pretty good question.
Speaker 10 (24:22):
That's a good point, Like you have it on your
foot like an app, Like there are apps right all
these airlines.
Speaker 11 (24:28):
Can I just go to my flight number and order?
Speaker 2 (24:30):
You could even order ahead?
Speaker 1 (24:32):
Yeah, you know you're waiting at the gate for you know,
everybody else to board, Like, oh, a ginger ale sounds nice,
Go ahead and put in my orders.
Speaker 10 (24:40):
A one would like this, well, I think they give
you sometimes you get food options.
Speaker 2 (24:45):
You could Yeah, definitely anyway, just a thought, well it
does well and.
Speaker 8 (24:50):
Yeah, because when you think about it, and what they
said is the beverage because there were two hours into
the flight, the beverage carts were out in the aisle
and when they hid this turbulence, the those things hit
the ceiling. Literally, Oh my gosh, Okay, they're not light.
I mean, there's no light. If they were empty made
out of battle.
Speaker 1 (25:07):
I wonder how many I wonder how many of the
people that were injured were the flight attendants.
Speaker 2 (25:11):
Yeah, they if they weren't strapped in sure.
Speaker 1 (25:13):
I mean, if the beverage cart hit the ceiling, then
they're hitting the ceiling.
Speaker 11 (25:16):
And anyone not buckled is definitely hitting the ceiling.
Speaker 7 (25:19):
The Delta flight encounter turbulent so strong it had to
make an emergency landing in Minneapolis. Medical personnel met the
two hundred and seventy five passengers and thirteen crew members
on the ground to evaluate any injuries. At the time
of the diversion, the Delta flight was en route from
Salt Lake City to Amsterdam, but was forced to land
around two hours into its eight hour trip. One passenger
(25:42):
on the flight described a sudden drop as flight attendants
were in the aisle with those serving carts, saying, quote,
every one of them flew and hit the ceiling. The
beverage carts also flew into the air. Any items that
were loose in the cabin got thrown everywhere.
Speaker 6 (25:57):
Man.
Speaker 8 (25:58):
Yeah, so that's yeah, I'm scary, probably as many. That's
the projectiles may have ended up being any number of.
Speaker 1 (26:04):
Right, even if you are strapped in yeah, you take
a you know, a loose backpack.
Speaker 11 (26:09):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 8 (26:10):
Yeah. And I often wonder because if you could, if
you could see every airplane in the sky right now,
like you say, the network around cities, especially busy, busy airports,
I can see that there would be more turbulence simply
because they are shooting hot air out into the atmosphere.
It dissipates to some extent, but then there's still concentrations
(26:31):
of it. And uh yeah, it's something to be to
be concerned about. And the idea, as you say, of
getting those men and women out of the aisles with
the carts and just to bring in your drinks or
whatever to your seat, would make sense.
Speaker 2 (26:43):
Yeah, yeah, sure, exactly right now.
Speaker 8 (26:45):
Imagine there used to be a histore called Kmart. You
remember Kmart. Yes was a store.
Speaker 11 (26:51):
I mean, they really really were. They're long gone, but
consider this.
Speaker 8 (26:56):
Back in nineteen ninety eight, Kmart had a limited test
concept at selected stores called kmart Solutions. Now keep in
mind this is nineteen ninety eight. Very few people use
the internet for online purchases, let alone banking or filing taxes.
This was before all the dot com stuff happened. This
(27:18):
is a little bit of a commercial they were running
to test market.
Speaker 15 (27:21):
This with the shopping convenience you want. Imagine shopping for
the lowest prices all over town and only making one stop.
Imagine a store where you can browse aisle after aisle
and never take a single step. Introducing kmart Solutions. Kmart
(27:42):
Solutions is an exciting new way to shop for a
broader range of name brand products and services, and you'll
never have to leave our store. You know, our Kmart
stores are big, but even they can only hold so much.
With kmart Solutions, we created a virtual store within a
store to give you our customer greater one stop shopping convenience,
(28:05):
and our prices are so low you won't have to
shop anywhere else.
Speaker 11 (28:09):
Can you imagine, Wow.
Speaker 2 (28:11):
Hey, they're gone, there's I'm on kmart dot com right now.
Speaker 11 (28:14):
Ye have any locations still around?
Speaker 1 (28:16):
I mean, it says, fine, I have to look and
find stores. Yeah, okay, but yeah, but I just I
wasn't sure.
Speaker 11 (28:22):
If they even they did they? Okay? So they do
have yeah, you know, they do a website.
Speaker 8 (28:26):
I read a story about they had one in New Jersey, Okay,
and I read it about how people would drive there
because it was kmart.
Speaker 11 (28:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (28:33):
And then wow, and to listen to this, as of
May four, there are only four kmart stores.
Speaker 8 (28:39):
Wow.
Speaker 11 (28:39):
That was a year ago, so ago.
Speaker 8 (28:41):
Yeah, but they came up with this concept ahead and
again you come up with the concept, but if you
can't really get it mobilized.
Speaker 1 (28:49):
Okay, well this is interesting. So and again this is
this is the problem with AI. We're not really sure
what is Yeah. This one says Kmart is now operated
by Transform Co. It operates three remaining big box department stores.
There are two in the US Virgin Islands.
Speaker 11 (29:07):
And one in Guam. Wow.
Speaker 1 (29:09):
Okay, now I did find Kmart Australia.
Speaker 11 (29:12):
Oh see, if you're over there. Yeah, the spiders.
Speaker 8 (29:16):
Anyway, so yeah, wow, anyway, there are not many of
them around.
Speaker 11 (29:20):
We know that. Yeah, that is.
Speaker 1 (29:21):
That is what we've figured out that you're probably not
gonna find what you're gonna run.
Speaker 11 (29:26):
There you go.
Speaker 8 (29:26):
Our handy dandy survey of two thousand US Americans unveiled
the top ten most cherished life moments, including holding a
newborn for the first time, witnessing a baby's first steps,
and receiving keys to your first home.
Speaker 11 (29:39):
Wow. Other significance.
Speaker 8 (29:41):
I haven't done any of them, and saw's done's done
all over in the last two years.
Speaker 11 (29:47):
Right, yeah, all right.
Speaker 8 (29:50):
For people other than Chelsea, here's some of the other
unfortunate people like Chelsea.
Speaker 11 (29:54):
Here are some of the others.
Speaker 8 (29:55):
Bidding farewell to a loved one, a child's first day
of school. Can't do that one experiencing first love. On average,
people encounter five unforgettable events annually.
Speaker 2 (30:05):
Oh wow, by the un events annually.
Speaker 11 (30:08):
Forgettables.
Speaker 2 (30:09):
I forgot what I ate for breakfast.
Speaker 10 (30:10):
This is hilarious, this happened, This was I think in
you know, maybe like I guess probably a couple of
years back, our friend Shelby was like, Sean, what was
the best thing that happened to you this past year?
Speaker 11 (30:20):
And like or game I go, the Astros winning the
World Series and she goes.
Speaker 10 (30:22):
You had a baby, and I go, oh, yeah, that's right.
Speaker 11 (30:29):
Oh yeah that trick question. Oh wait, no, ride that
in a second.
Speaker 10 (30:36):
Good morning. I'm Sean Burnette with your sports update. On sixteen,
twenty ninety four to five. Doubta doub Texas A and
M football began fall camp last night. As the twenty
twenty five season is around the corner, quarterback Marcel Reid
is headed into the new year as the starting quarterback.
He was asked about what improvements he's made this off season.
Speaker 4 (30:57):
I know you all have also heard it, just like
I have not a passer, but yeah, I feel like
I've had, you know, tremendous growth in my passing this offseason.
You know, We've had some great receivers come in, and
you know, just having the O line that we have,
the running backs that we have, they've made it a
lot easier for me to be able to sit back
there and make these throws. And you know, the receivers
(31:17):
we have now have made it a lot easier as
well and make these throws. And I think I just
feel a lot more confident back there, finding ways to
protect myself known the offense a little bit better and
just being confident as a quarterback behind an o line.
Speaker 10 (31:31):
Torrian York was named to the Butt Gus Award watch
List ahead of the season. It's given annually to the
nation's best linebacker. York has received preseason first team All
American honors. He led the Aggies with eighty two tackles
last season and ranked second in tackles for a loss.
The Texas A and M football team begins with a
home match up against UTSA on August thirtieth at Kyle Field.
(31:53):
The Brass Valley Bombers even the series with the Victoria
Generals last night at home. They got a five to
zero win. The teams will play Game three tonight at
seven o'clock. The Houston Astros got to win over the
Washington Nationals yesterday to make it two in a row.
They got a nine to one win thanks to a
four for four day from Jose Al Tuove. He had
a homer and three RBIs. Here's manager Joe Espada after
(32:16):
the series win.
Speaker 12 (32:17):
Faced a pretty good pitcher today and we had some
really good at bats from from the beginning. Trying to
contribution through our to our lineup. I also thought that
we run the basis really well. There was some dirt
bolt reach that I against his team. They you know,
they there's a lot of balls into dirt. I thought
that we did a good job advancing on the basicly
going through that little stretch there where things were not
going our way, but you know, our guys are They're
going to continue to push and we figure out ways
(32:39):
to score runs. The quality of bats were there. Back
to back days. Off day tomorrow, which this group needs
and get ready for, you know, a nice series in Boston.
Speaker 10 (32:49):
Houston has today off and begins a series on the
road at the Boston Red Sox tomorrow night.
Speaker 11 (32:53):
You'll be able to listen to that on the zone.
Speaker 10 (32:56):
The Astros are acquiring infielder Ramon Arius from the Baltimore
Orioles ahead of the trade deadline. Baltimore is receiving minor
league right hander Twine Palmer in return. Arius is a
Gold Glover at third base and is hitting two forty
eight with eight homers and thirty four RBIs and seventy
seven games this season. The Texas Rangers avoided the sweep
(33:17):
against the Angels last night as Nathan Evaldi limited them
to one run through seven innings. A Dooley Scarcia hit
a two run homer in the eighth and the six
to three win. Texas is even with the Seattle Mariners
in the Al West at five games back. They begin
a four game road series in Seattle tonight at eight forty.
Kumar Rocker is scheduled to get the start. That's our
(33:38):
morning sports update on sixteen, twenty ninety four to five
wta W. I'm Sean Burnett.
Speaker 8 (33:45):
It is Thursday. Good morning. It's the last day of July.
We're celebrating July because you when you get to August,
that's a switch month. I mean your world changes in August. School, Yes,
school starts what.
Speaker 11 (33:55):
In like two weeks? Is that right? I mean it's
the middle of the month. I have no idea how.
It's one thing.
Speaker 8 (34:00):
I don't really Yes, I know, but it is just yeah, yeah,
you have to start jamming things in and getting things
done and all that sort of stuff.
Speaker 11 (34:07):
This is kind of interesting.
Speaker 8 (34:09):
I think Sketchers has launched a line of sneakers for
kids that includes a hidden compartment for an Apple AirTag.
Speaker 11 (34:16):
Oh that's okay.
Speaker 2 (34:17):
Yeah, I know that is cool. I so because I've
known mothers who have like they'll sow them into their
kids shoes, right, or they'll find way so that this
is this is great.
Speaker 11 (34:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (34:26):
The feature allows parents obviously attract their kiddos as long
as the and it remains secure in the shoe.
Speaker 11 (34:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (34:33):
Now the other thing, that's the shoes, which is part
of Find My Sketcher's line, are available in various sizes
and styles for toddlers all the way up to eighty
year olds. There's a story about a guy who's eighty
one year old.
Speaker 11 (34:45):
Mom. He put an air tag in her minivan.
Speaker 8 (34:48):
Okay, that way he always knows where she is and
if they're ends up being you know that.
Speaker 11 (34:53):
I don't know that that would be part of it. No,
but that's the other thing. He's tracking his mom right right.
Speaker 1 (35:00):
I know it's his mom, but still, like you, she
should probably know if she's being tracked.
Speaker 8 (35:04):
We would hope he does. But the and that's the
idea is just in case. You know, I don't know
if the people.
Speaker 11 (35:09):
Older people have orientation problems.
Speaker 2 (35:11):
Right, I get it.
Speaker 11 (35:12):
Yeah, No, I understand.
Speaker 1 (35:13):
I'm exactly like, hey, mom, I'm going to do this
for your safety.
Speaker 8 (35:18):
Yeah, idea, Yeah, as opposed to yes, I'm just keeping tapping.
Speaker 1 (35:22):
And yeah, yeah, they are used in nefarious ways sometimes.
Speaker 11 (35:26):
Wild and crazy woman that you are.
Speaker 8 (35:28):
How about one hundred for the next four or five days,
that's just kind of the way.
Speaker 11 (35:31):
It is.
Speaker 8 (35:31):
Twenty percent chance of rain today and tonight, about a
thirty percent on Friday, and then Saturday got a fifty
to fifty.
Speaker 11 (35:37):
Chance to showers. We'll see if that happens.
Speaker 8 (35:39):
And not cooling down as much in the mornings anymore
