Speaker 2 (00:06):
Good morning. I'm Chelsea reberb.

Speaker 1 (00:08):
One person was killed and another is hospitalized in critical
condition following a three vehicle collision yesterday. This took place
on Highway thirty near Hardy Wheedon Road. The preliminary investigation
from Brian Police as the person who was killed was
driving a pickup that rear ended one suv, then went
into oncoming traffic and was hit by a second SUV.
Brian Police continues to look for those responsible for shooting

(00:30):
a Brenna man to death earlier this week. According to
a VPD update, investigators have identified three individuals who are
involved in a physical altercation Monday morning, just after six.
The news release says that escalated into gunfire outside homes
south of the West Side Walmart store on Jaguar Drive.
Brazo's County Commissioner Chuck conder Light tells listeners on our

(00:50):
show that he's excited to see acting County Judge Kyle
Kassel running for the permanent position in next year's election.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
Probably one of the worst things you can say in
his presence is this is the way we've all has
done it that would you know, it's rare to see
Kyle scale, but he's sure scows at that.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Another county judge candidate in next year's election, former Bryan
City Councilman Mike Sutherland, started advertising before Duwayne Peters announced
that he's retiring next year. College Station could be getting
another baseball field complex.

Speaker 4 (01:17):
And next Thursday's college Station City Council meeting, an unidentified
company will make a pitch for using city on land
behind the Costco store. What's nicknamed the Southern Roots Baseball
Complex includes a thirty eight hundred seat stadium and eight
additional altur fields. The unidentified company proposing the fifty five
to sixty million dollar complex is asking the city for

(01:38):
fifteen to twenty million and to donate or lease eighty
acres of land. Bill Oliver sixteen to twenty ninety four
to five WTAW.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
The college Station City Council has been introduced to this
year's representative from Texas A and M Student Government Association,
Ansley Broadwell, class of twenty twenty six, is SGA's vice
president for Municipal Affairs. Speaking at the council's last regular meeting,
Dwell said one of her goals is community engagement.

Speaker 5 (02:02):
I was on big event staff going out serving the community,
and I want to make that a bigger opportunity for students,
get them more involved beyond just one day of the year.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
Another goal is the future development of the Northgate district.

Speaker 5 (02:13):
Figuring out how we can work on making that more
of a permanent area and how we can figure out
the land development.

Speaker 6 (02:19):
Issues as well. So we will also be.

Speaker 5 (02:20):
Coming up with the land Development Plan to help students
and the city find a solution to that.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
Broadwell also said many students are not happy with all
the high rise housing in the Northgate district. Governor Abbott
will be among those on the Texas A and M
campus this morning who are participating in the ceremonial groundbreaking
of the Appland Center. The two hundred and fifty million
dollar complex includes a fifty million dollar gift that was
made more than three years ago by Bucky's Stores founder

(02:46):
Arch Applin. Construction is scheduled for completion in February of
twenty twenty eight. A large building on the north side
of downtown Bryan has been renovated, and today, on the
twentieth anniversary of First Friday, is the opening of what
was the Kimball feed Store and is now a cultural
and event center.

Speaker 7 (03:02):
The cultural event center is really meant to be a
showcase space for the community or arts and culture or events.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
Cassidy Barton, who owns the building with Christy Petty, says
parts of the century old building have been repurposed.

Speaker 7 (03:17):
We hope that people who have been too that went
to the kimblefeed Store might still walk in and feel
like a sense of recognition because you'll see clay block walls,
You'll see some concrete floors, lots of lots of wood.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
Located on North Maine at Pruit, The Kimball's grand opening
event starts this evening at six. WTAW News time is
nine minutes after six. It is seventy degrees. More news
at six thirty or online at WTAW dot com. I'm
Chelsea Reebert for sixteen twenty eight, ninety four to five WTAW.

Speaker 6 (03:48):
Good Mordy six ten. It's a Friday, Friday, Friday. Glad
you're here.

Speaker 8 (03:52):
Let's have look at our weather has brought to you
by Mattlich. Be prepared for the next power outage with
Malix Service Company and whole Home backup Generation. You're from
Jederak call matic to schedule your appointment today ninety.

Speaker 6 (04:03):
Two for a high temperature today when.

Speaker 8 (04:05):
Still out of the east, that'll be okay, sixty six tonight,
pretty nice. Then tomorrow looking about ninety degrees, we'll do
about sixty seven or so for the ballgame or anything
else you're doing.

Speaker 6 (04:13):
On a Saturday night.

Speaker 8 (04:14):
Sunday Sunday ninety two for a high temperature low around
seventy and seventy.

Speaker 6 (04:19):
Is what we're looking at right now. Houston Texans running
back Woody Marks named the NFL's Rookie of the Week.
We'll talk about that and more coming up in sports.
Woody Woody, a Mississippi State student. Is that point of time? Yes, Woody,
a Woody ball player named Woody.

Speaker 8 (04:34):
Meanwhile, I think we had a winter Woody earlier this
week we did?

Speaker 6 (04:38):
Yes here right, yep, so probably Woodrow.

Speaker 9 (04:41):
Right.

Speaker 6 (04:41):
Isn't that probably your real name? I'm not sure it
could be nicknames these days. You never know. That's it.

Speaker 8 (04:47):
Hey, World's a big place. They do a lot of
things differently in different parts of the world.

Speaker 6 (04:51):
That in mind.

Speaker 8 (04:54):
Uh Korea. Shaka, two year old from Nepal been selected
as the country's new Kumari or virgin princess. Oh did
I mention she's two years old? He did, Okay, So
ceremony held in Katmundu on Tuesday of this week. The

(05:15):
toddler was installed during the eighth day of the Hindu
festival they have there called Dashane. She replaces the old
eleven year old who they had had before, who had
served since twenty seventeen. Now, this little girl was carried
by her daddy from their home in Kumari Gall to

(05:36):
the temple palace where she will live for several years
until puberty. Supporters lined up to touch their foreheads to
her feet and offered money and flowers during the procession. Okay,
that's just pretty unusual. I think girls are chosen as

(05:56):
the Kumari and they must be between the ages of
two and four, with unblemished features, and they cannot fear darkness.
Oh okay, strange attributes, but there you go. Sure, she
was just my daughter yesterday, but today she is a
goddess set her dad. The new living goddess will be
worshiped by both Hindus and Buddhists and will bless the

(06:18):
president or apparently address blessed the president yesterday so there
you are, got.

Speaker 6 (06:24):
A two year old.

Speaker 8 (06:25):
I don't know if spiritual leader is the right way
to say it, just got right, got Yeah?

Speaker 6 (06:30):
I know there are many fathers.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Who say, at what age they're done service? Yeah?

Speaker 8 (06:35):
Yeah, that's when it hit. People do whatever they could be.
So the new one has to be between two and four.

Speaker 6 (06:39):
That one that looks pretty good on the resume, doesn't it.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
I would think?

Speaker 8 (06:42):
So?

Speaker 2 (06:43):
Yeah on your college application. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (06:45):
You know.

Speaker 8 (06:46):
A British filmmaker started doing a film series called seven
Up many many years ago, and what they did is
they started by interviewing seven year olds.

Speaker 6 (06:56):
Then they found him when they were fourteen, twenty one.

Speaker 8 (06:59):
Twenty eight, thirty five, forty two, and I don't know
they may have done it up until but they've been
doing that a long time. So I'm thinking, if you
found these former goddesses, right, where are they now?

Speaker 6 (07:10):
What are you doing today?

Speaker 2 (07:12):
Child actors? Where are they now?

Speaker 6 (07:13):
Exactly? I just how do you live up to that
the rest of your life?

Speaker 4 (07:16):
Right?

Speaker 6 (07:17):
But what'd you do? Well?

Speaker 8 (07:18):
I used to do this? What are you doing now?
I'm working at Taco bell? Yeah, well they probably don't
do that, but nonetheless, I just I found that today.
I thought, Wow, that's that's a little bit unusual way.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
And I guess, you know, do the well. I can't
imagine a parent, I guess turning it.

Speaker 6 (07:33):
Down their financial windfall. And how is the child chosen?

Speaker 8 (07:39):
I mean, we don't you know, we know dlly Lama,
they have a kind of a thing like that too.
I don't know if it's a group of guys somewhere
who come up with this or not.

Speaker 6 (07:46):
Anyhow, so there you are. That's your first unusual thing
around the world.

Speaker 8 (07:51):
And apparently they found something else that's headed toward Earth.
It's rocketing near here, so we may do that in
space news later.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
Info can't wait Friday.

Speaker 8 (08:02):
I know, Friday's always the best day for space news
because that way you can think about that all weekend
would get lost that it doesn't matter whether your sports
team wins or not, because there could be something rocketing
toward Earth that three thousand years from now will hit.
And after all, as we say, how do scientists know
that that's really true? Right? It is six sixteen on Friday,

(08:25):
and for me the X Show, Hey, if you'd like
to call us for Texas right here for you'll.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
Yeah, the number is nine seven, nine, six, nine, five,
sixteen twenty.

Speaker 8 (08:32):
Man, it is National Techie's Day, right, those people who
help us out when we've when the first thing they
ask is did you start it?

Speaker 2 (08:40):
And did you restart it?

Speaker 8 (08:42):
You're pushing the big red button to see if that happens.
All right, so good then props to the geek squad. Yes, indeed,
National boyfriend Day. It is National Global Smoothie Day. Okay,
not to be confused with local smoothie Day. Okay, National
Butterfly and Hummingbird Day.

Speaker 6 (08:58):
Ok Hey.

Speaker 8 (08:58):
Yeah, College radio Day. We got a college radio station here.

Speaker 6 (09:03):
I did that for a little while. Yeah, all right.

Speaker 8 (09:05):
Consignment Day, here's some stuff selling for me. Yep, that's uh,
you know that can be fun.

Speaker 6 (09:10):
Denham Day.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
I love Denham.

Speaker 6 (09:12):
Denham is a good look yep.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
And and you know, just a great fabric it is.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
You can do so much with it.

Speaker 8 (09:18):
And the rest of the world they have denim going
in and out of style.

Speaker 6 (09:21):
It's always in style.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
I think, oh yeah, for sure.

Speaker 6 (09:24):
Yep. It is Look at the leaves Day.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
Okay.

Speaker 8 (09:28):
I don't know why here because they're either brown or green.
But there are parts of the world where it's not
mean girls Appreciation Day.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
Oh yeah, because because because they're the infamous scene in
the movie. This is where her crush turns around in
math class and asks her what the date is and
she says, it's October third.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
Oh, and that's October third. Is now Mean Girl's Day.
I had no idea it has to do with the movie.

Speaker 2 (09:55):

Speaker 1 (09:55):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
I kind of figured, yeah.

Speaker 6 (09:57):
Maybe maybe this is it.

Speaker 8 (09:58):
Maybe I've got the audio right here.

Speaker 6 (09:59):
Let's see, uh Mean Girls All right, we'll play the
clip and feet.

Speaker 9 (10:04):
Talking to Aaron Moore and more on October third.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
He asked me what day it was.

Speaker 6 (10:09):
It's October third. Two weeks later. That's it. Wow, takes
a spark. Yeah, it is no sugar day.

Speaker 8 (10:19):

student housing is an issue that plagues a lot of students.

Speaker 5 (22:08):
I think students are not the happiest with all of
the high rise apartments going up, and they think that
that is going to make the cost of living higher
and also take away from Northgate and potentially take away
that College Station charm that is the Northgate District.

Speaker 1 (22:22):
Northgate is one of three SGA goals with College Station
this year, along with parking and community engagement. College Station
City staff is asking the city Council to take another
swing at developing land that was rejected as a data center.

Speaker 4 (22:35):
Background information for next Thursday's council meeting says an unidentified
company wants to build a fifty five million dollar baseball
complex behind the Costco store. The proposal calls for the
city to contribute at least fifteen million dollars and either
give or at least eighty acres of land. What's nicknamed
Southern Roots Baseball would have a thirty eight hundred seat

(22:55):
stadium and eight more all turf fields. The developer also
proposes building an integrated baseball academy, where one hundred students
would also take junior college classes on site. The city's
chief development officer told the council to consider how this
project might impact the previously approved addition of baseball fields

Speaker 6 (26:32):
No mentioned rain.

Speaker 8 (26:33):
It's got sixty nine out there right now.

Speaker 6 (26:35):
Well, it looks like more injury news for the Cowboys
receiver group. We will talk about that and more coming
up in sports.

Speaker 8 (26:41):
So we were just talking about this being mean girls day.
They actually have a story on our news feed about
this today. You know, this just is not part of
our world, but clearly it is continuing to still be
a part of culture.

Speaker 2 (26:54):
Oh, it's it's a pop culture classic at this point.

Speaker 6 (26:56):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, So let's see what they're saying.

Speaker 11 (26:58):
It's the release of the two thousand and four Mean Girls.
October third has come to be known by many as
mean Girls Day, in reference to a line in which
Katie Herron, played by Lindsay Lohan, talks about making conversation
with her high school crush October third.

Speaker 1 (27:12):
He asked me what day it was.

Speaker 6 (27:14):
It's October third.

Speaker 2 (27:15):
Cue the Mean Girls memes on Wednesdays.

Speaker 11 (27:18):
We were pick mean Girls turned twenty last year, but
it's still often quoted.

Speaker 6 (27:22):
She doesn't even go here.

Speaker 11 (27:23):
Since the film's release, there's also been a stage version
on Broadway, as well as a twenty twenty four musical movie.

Speaker 8 (27:29):
That is so Fetch, Gretchen, stop trying to make Fetch happen.

Speaker 2 (27:34):
It's not going to happen.

Speaker 11 (27:35):
Mean Girls is available to stream on Hulu and Paramount Plus.
Tanya Jay Powers Fox News.

Speaker 1 (27:41):
It's so good, so I mean, I immediately know all
of those quotes like it's it's so good, been part
of your life.

Speaker 6 (27:47):
Yeah, sure, I watched it with the girls at one
point in time or another, but I'll have to go
back in Memphis.

Speaker 1 (27:52):
Yeah, I mean, Tina fay Is it plays a huge role.
She's in it, and I believe she wrote part of
at least oh yeah, yeah, produced it, wrote it, and
then again was in it. So yeah, it's really it's
really funny, and I mean, you forget like this was
Rachel McAdams probably her big breakout. Lindsay Lohan is the

(28:12):
main character, but Rachel McAdams plays the meanest of the
mean Girls. And so this is right before The Notebook,
And honestly, I think most people could have watched. I
know I did back then in two thousand and four,
watched both movies. Didn't even realize it was the same
person because she looks different and plays such a different

(28:32):
role in Mean Girls versus The Notebook.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
And so she was really really good.

Speaker 8 (28:37):
And Tina Fey is a comic genius.

Speaker 6 (28:39):
There's absolute doubt about that.

Speaker 8 (28:41):
So could a US Americans be getting a tariff rebate?
There's a possibility on that. What's it?

Speaker 12 (28:47):
Trump says he's weighing the idea of giving Americans up
to two thousand dollars in rebates derived from tariff revenue.
In an interview with One American News, the President said
the government is now taking unprecedented sums of money from tariffs.
He says one thousand to two thousand dollars would be
great regarding the size of the checks to lower courts
rule that most of the tariffs imposed on the US's

(29:09):
trading partners were illegal. The ruling was appealed by the administration.
The Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in early November.
Chris de Mayo, Fox News.

Speaker 8 (29:18):
All right, now, Republicans, tap the brakes right now. Tap
the brakes when you want to say, boy, what a
great idea of that is giving money to people two
thousand dollars, up to two thousand dollars per person. You
know that happened during COVID by the Democrats, and there
were any number of Republicans who just went crazy over that.

(29:39):
The very idea that you would actually send money to
US Americans. Well, I don't care whether you call it
a tariff freebate or a COVID check. Hey, it's still
the same thing. You are buying votes. I'm just plain
and simple. You are buying votes.

Speaker 6 (29:53):
Pay down the debt and then lower our taxes or
get rid of them.

Speaker 8 (29:56):
Yeah, so there you are. We'll see if we get
mailbox money from a Republican president. In the meantime, Tesla
CEO Elon Musk is calling for people to cancel their
Netflix subscription.

Speaker 6 (30:11):
I saw this.

Speaker 2 (30:12):
I saw him call for it on X. I didn't
actually see why.

Speaker 6 (30:16):
All right, here we go.

Speaker 13 (30:17):
An ex Musk wrote, cancel Netflix, and he shared a
post from the right wing libs of TikTok account which
called out one of the Netflix shows. Libs of TikTok said, quote,
the Babysitters Club pushes trensgenderism on kids, shame's characters for
miss gendering, and demands hospital staff refer to and treat
a boy as a girl. Insanity. This show is rated

(30:39):
for children. Cancel Netflix. Lives of TikTok also wrote on
X quote, OMG, dead end Paranormal Park, a show on Netflix,
is pushing pro transgender on children. The show was advertised
for seven year olds. Parents beware.

Speaker 6 (30:53):
So I don't know anything about that. I did a
little dig on this, and I did watch some of
the clips that were presented, the picture is a very,
very negative. However, from what I understand, this is not
something that is like featured on the front page of Netflix.
It's something that is in their back catalog and that
you would actually kind of have to dig for.

Speaker 1 (31:14):
Okay, now, yeah, I'm going to say the first episode
date was twenty twenty on USA.

Speaker 6 (31:19):
So it's been there for a while. She just kind
of under you know, everything else, the crush of everything
else that's on Netflix.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
Speaking of Alicia Silverstone, she's in it.

Speaker 4 (31:27):
Oh my.

Speaker 2 (31:27):
Well, and again, the Babysitters Club was a was a
novel series back when I was growing up, or maybe
even earlier.

Speaker 1 (31:33):
Yeah, I had never heard of this. I didn't The
latest Babysitters Club news i'd heard was it's coming to Broadway.

Speaker 2 (31:39):
I don't even know it existed or this this TV
show existed.

Speaker 8 (31:43):
Well, I understand, I mean, and again, the material is
something that people might not want their kids exposed to,
which I certainly understand.

Speaker 6 (31:49):
I mean, that's a parental decision.

Speaker 8 (31:50):
Sure, so I guess he's trying to raise the flag
right there and asking people.

Speaker 2 (31:53):
But that's canceled Netflix over this.

Speaker 8 (31:56):
Like an overreach Yeah, you know, one of the things
that this has been quite a week for Donald Trump.
There's no doubt we talked about this. He has accomplished
a lot of things, or at least pushed the needle
forward on a lot of things, just in the first
three days of this week. It's very interesting that over
time now there are companies out there who are trying

(32:16):
to do things to maybe be in gratia and gratiate
themselves to this administration to make things better for them
because they have said food needs to be safer, beverages
need to be safer, and it's happening out there.

Speaker 2 (32:29):
Yeah. Pepsi has a big new challenge.

Speaker 1 (32:32):
They've got to keep their products like Gatorade and Cheetos
vivid and colorful without the artificial dies that US consumers
are obviously increasingly rejecting. PepsiCo makes Dorito's Captain Crunch, Cereal Funions,
Mountain Dew. They announced back in April that they would
accelerate a plan shift to using natural colors in its

(32:53):
food and beverages. Around forty percent of its pepsicos Us
products contain synthetic dyes, according to the company, But you know,
it's it's just It's an interesting challenge there because they
don't want to put out something that doesn't look good
or is gross. And that's you know, the CEO said,
we're not going to launch a product that the consumers

(33:13):
are not going to enjoy.

Speaker 2 (33:15):
We need to make sure the product is right.

Speaker 6 (33:17):
But don't they already do that for their overseas products anyway,
that those markets that don't have that have these.

Speaker 2 (33:23):
Guidelines and those people are used to it, does that
mean Americans will react? You know?

Speaker 6 (33:28):
All I know is you could turn Doctor Pepper purple
and my wife would still drink it.

Speaker 1 (33:32):
There's you know, so yeah, and so you said it
can take two to three years to shift a product
from an artificial color to a natural one. Right, PepsiCo
has to identify a natural ingredient that will also have
a stable shelf life and not change the product's flavor,
because that's the when you start messing with the flavor
of something of someone's favorite food, favorite beverage, that's when

(33:56):
you know, think, I mean, look at New Coke, remember
when you know they came out and had nothing to
do with the artificial dies that was just the taste.
But so yeah, they're experiencing with different spices to colored cheetos. Yeah,
it'll be interesting to see how they handle all of this.

Speaker 8 (34:11):
And on Wednesday, Walmart, which by the way, is the
country's largest grosser now, they said on Wednesday that they
are working to remove synthetic dyes from all of their
store brand foods. That's great value, market side freshness guaranteed
and better goods. And again that's gonna take some time
because they're going to have to use up the inventory
they have right now. First of all, they're going to
have to talk to their manufacturers and say, hey, those

(34:34):
fruit loop type cereals, I don't know what they're called it, Walmart,
we're going to have to take the dies out of
that and do something more natural. Well, they start that today,
it's going to take a while for that stuff to
get produced and then come to the actual marketplace. But
Walmart's same thing. They're raising their hands saying, hey, we're
going to do this too. And part of it has
to do, I think with Kennedy and because he wants

(34:56):
to get a lot of artificial things out and will.
As you referenced, loops in Canada is different than for
looci in America, and we talked about that, and the
reason is because the dyes that they use. But it's
very interesting as you look back there and see that
there are companies again trying to ingratiate themselves to this
administration by following some things.

Speaker 6 (35:13):
And here's the other thing.

Speaker 8 (35:14):
Once they take all these dies out, this is an
awareness thing. Now the public understands it. Do they ever
come back in Ooh?

Speaker 2 (35:22):
Yeah? I mean I don't think so.

Speaker 8 (35:23):
I don't think they shouldn't. Yeah, they shouldn't and they
shouldn't write there. They're just there. Seems to be that
they might might not be a safe situation.

Speaker 2 (35:29):
But I mean, yeah, I don't think this is just
a temporary change.

Speaker 8 (35:32):
No, no, And going back from here from that standpoint
to there are a lot of people who will think
that these are all good.

Speaker 6 (35:42):
Good morning and happy Friday. I'm will welchs with your
morning sports updates. On sixteen, twenty ninety four, five WTAW
Texas A and m's Trinity Buchanan delivered the game winning
goal in the sixty eighth minute of a one to
nothing shut out against Texas at Ellis Field last night
and dict the terms of the match statistically holding a
fourteen to nine advantage in shots and a four to

(36:05):
one advantage in corner kicks. As part of the defensive lockdown,
the Aggies owned a seven to one shots on goal margin.
Here's Coach g after the game. Well, it's just it's
a testament to that.

Speaker 14 (36:15):
You know, if you don't give up, good things are
going to happen.

Speaker 6 (36:17):
And you got to just keep fighting. You got to
keep chugging away. This game meant a lot to this team.
On the follow up question, the water bottles came out
and the celebration rained down.

Speaker 14 (36:27):
Well, thank you, I love you guys, thank you.

Speaker 6 (36:40):
An awesome job, ladies, all to holy smoke. The rivalry
match was a bit spicy, eight fouls for Texas A
and M and fourteen for Texas. Two yellow cards were
issued to the Longhorns late in the second half. The
Aggies returned to action Sunday when they traveled to Norman
for a two o'clock contest against Oklahoma. The Texas A
and the baseball team begins fall exhibition action tonight with

(37:03):
a twelve inning scrimmage against Sam Houston, starting at six
o'clock from Olsenfield at Bluebell Park. Head coach Michael Early
is glad to get the guys on the field.

Speaker 15 (37:11):
Anytime you can step on the field with your team
in your uniform in this environment, which is the best
environment in college baseball, even in the fall, it's really
good for all the guys.

Speaker 6 (37:22):
For some of the newcomers, it's more than just getting
used to the game and their teammates.

Speaker 15 (37:27):
Some of these guys, this will be the biggest crowd
they've ever played in front of, and I think that's
important to get that type of experience.

Speaker 6 (37:33):
And game admission is free and concessions will be open.
Texas A and M's men's tennis team continues fall play
at the Big Twelve SEC Challenge today through Sunday at
Baylor's Herd Tennis Center. Joining the Aggies and representing the
SEC are the Longhorns, with Big Twelve opponents including Arizona,
Arizona State, Baylor, and Texas Tech. A former Mississippi State

(37:54):
football star is earning accolades in his rookie season in
the NFL. Houston Texans running back Woody Marx was named
the NFL's Rookie of the Week following a breakout performance
last week over the Titans. Mark Sad seventeen carries for
sixty nine yards, scored a touchdown, and caught four passes
for fifty yards with another TD. The Texans are in

(38:14):
Baltimore to face the Ravens at noon on Sunday. With
CD lamb out for the Cowboys this weekend, others in
the receiver group have to stemp up. Unfortunately, that probably
won't be wide receiver and kick returner Cavante Turpin. Turpin
could be sidelined for Sunday's game against the Jets with
a foot injury that he sustained during the team's game
last week against the Packers. According to the Cowboys website,

(38:36):
it doesn't look like Turpin's injury will land him on
the injured reserve, which would sideline him for four games.
The Cowboys will take on the Jets on the road
on Sunday. Friday night meets high school football, and that
means you need to visit Brasssfootball dot com for all
the scores, standings, and where to listen to the games
on the Brian Broadcasting family of stations. That's your morning

(38:57):
sports update on sixteen to twenty ninety four WTAW. I'm
will Well, It's.

Speaker 8 (39:03):
A Friday morning to see if for many acts here's
the weather. It's brought to you by Malick. Be prepared
for your next power outage. Yeah, there'll be one with
Malick Service Company and whole home backup generator from Generak.
Call Mallick, schedule your appointment today. High temperature today actually
off weekend long, probably going to be in the lower nineties.
Low temperature each night, middle sixties and no mention of

(39:24):
rain in the forecast.

Speaker 6 (39:25):
We got sixty nine degrees right now.
