Welcome to the podcast.

(00:33):
Welcome to season four, EpisodeThree of the your color style
podcast. Today we're going to betalking about one of the five
signature colors that you canwear to express your true self
your authentic self and they arecalled. And this color is called
the blushing colors now it'sexactly what it sounds like when

(00:56):
I use the word blushing. Theseare going to be the colors that
are the natural blush and fleshof your cheeks. They are likely
the same colors that you wouldwear for makeup, blush and
lipstick. And you probably havean idea of what blush and

(01:16):
lipstick looks good on. Youknow, if you don't. No worries
we're going to work through inthis episode a few different
tips that you can figure outwhat is your best blushing
colors. I also recommend that ifyou want a little bit more help,
one of the best things you couldprobably do is go to a
professional makeup countersomeone that you trust a brand

(01:39):
that you trust, and the blushcolors that they choose for you
are going to be part of yourblushing color palette. Now
there's going to be a little bitof a range of those colors. So
let's go ahead and dive in andtalk a little bit more about
what a blushing color is, andwhy you would wear it. Your
blushing colors are going tolikely be your reds and pinks of

(02:03):
your color palette. And theseare the colors that you would
wear to appear moreapproachable, more friendly.
They're your romantic colors.
Often we assume that you knowwearing red is a romantic color.
But when I say romantic, I'mreferring more to more intimates
more approachable. As I saidfriendly, red is going to be

(02:28):
more bold, more powerful, moresexy. And that's actually one of
more one of your power colors.
When we're talking aboutblushing colors, we're taking it
down just a notch. So they'regoing to be your reds and pinks
and you're ranging omos intoyour purples for your blushing

(02:51):
colors. Alright, so how do weknow what your blushing colors
are? Well, again, they're goingto be your colors that you wear
as a blush, but let's break itdown a little bit in the your
color style methodology. Okay,so in your color style when
we're looking at and figuringout the colors that are going to

(03:12):
flatter you best that are goingto be in the most harmonious
with your coloring and tone. Wehave three steps. The first step
is brightness, and you're goingto hear me go through these
three steps all the time when Italk about your color style, but
it really does help you figureout the types of colors that are
going to really resonate withyou. So let's talk about the

(03:33):
brightness first. You willlikely wear either brighter
colors best or softer colorsbest. So for me for example, I
wear brighter colors best soimagine a perfectly a perfect
color. Like we'll just say redor pink with no white or black
added it's just a pure color.
That's a bright color rightthat's a brightest Chroma and

(03:57):
then you can add white tolighten it which does soften a
little bit or you could addblack to darken it which will
also solve it a little bit butyou start with a brighter color
first. So if you were brightercolors best, then you're going
to be looking for brighter, blushing tones, blushing colors
for your signature colors. Okay,so for example, if you are

(04:19):
someone that wears brightercolors best, a bright, light
pink, for example, might be oneof your blushing colors. My dad
who right now has white hair andbright blue eyes looks great and
a light bright pink, that wouldbe one of his blushing colors.

(04:39):
This is true for men as well. Ifyou want to appear more
approachable, you can wear yourblushing colors combined with a
color that you might feel moremasculine whether it's a dark
green, or dark blue, navy blue.
And the same is true for women.
You want to feel moreapproachable or feel quote
unquote pretty the blushingcolors are going to be extremely

(05:00):
flattering on you. The nextthing so that was bright by the
way and for saw think aboutcolors that are going to be
slightly great and muted so agrayish pink for example, a
earthier red, or tomato redthose are going to be softer
colors that might be moreflattering on you for me wearing

(05:23):
an earthy tomato red on me is isnot as flattering. It's a little
bit toowell too earthy for me but if
you have softer tones, warmundertones with earthy qualities
that might be one of yourblushing colors. Okay, the next

(05:45):
step is your undertones whetheryou have cool undertones, a
woman or tones that I know thatthis can be extremely troubling,
we talk about makeup becausesometimes you might appear
neutral, but I'm going to gothrough the basics. And by the
way, if you need visuals if youneed lots of photo examples to
help you kind of figure out whatyour blushing colors are. I

(06:08):
highly recommend you check outthe membership just because
there is a course includedcalled discover your signature
colors that has an entirechapter on blushing colors,
including printables. You don'tneed to do that. I also have
videos out on YouTube, but I'mjust letting you know that there
is a resource out there for youif you really want to dive deep.

(06:30):
Alright we'll get back to ourtopic in just a moment. Are you
struggling to figure out whatyour most flattering colors are?
Then take the your color stylecolor analysis quiz at your
color style.com slash quiz.

(06:50):
That's your color style.comslash quiz. It's free and it
will walk you through threesteps with lots of photo
examples to help you learn yourbest colors. So go to your color
style comm slash quizundertones so if you've got cool

(07:12):
undertones and and you may notknow but if you do, You're
blushing colors are going tolikely be from the light or deep
true Red Ribbon not thebrightest red because that's
your power color. And you'regoing to start to add blue to
that cooling that color down andgoing into those magenta Pink's
so cool blue Pink's pink. Truelike light red like a like a

(07:39):
nice slightly light red or adarker red. tipping over into
the cool side of the color wheeland in that blue. You could
probably depending on yourpreference go to a very blue
pink. Almost going to kind oflike a pinkish purple if you
want if that's what you feel isthat resonates with you. Those

(08:00):
are going to be your yourblushing colors now if you were
softer colors best that aregoing to wear a softer version
of those colors that if you werebrighter colors best you're
going to wear better versions ofthose colors. Okay. Now if
you've got warm undertones, it'syou can still wear some of those
pinks but be careful you don'twant too much of a blue pink. So
you're going to maybe add just atouch of blue to that true red.

(08:24):
You can probably go as cool asthat. But then we're going to
add yellow instead that truered, and so going over into the
tomato reds, we're looking nowwe're looking at coral pinks,
those orangey or salmon colors.
Those are going to be colorsthat are going to be more
flattering if you have warmundertones and those will be

(08:47):
your blushing colors. For me. Iwear coral pinks and those
salmon colors really reallywell. Because I have warm
undertones. And again, if youhave if you wear brighter color
special were brighter versionsof that. It doesn't mean you
have to wear a super brightcolor on your skin. You're going
to sometimes especially withblush, soft and bright kind of

(09:08):
look the same which is perfectlyfine. But when you're wearing a
lipstick, it might be that abrighter lip looks better on you
than a softer one. Again, youmight have to just experiment
and play with this but now thatyou have this idea, you might
want to go out to the makeupstore buy some inexpensive
colors and play. If you haveyour color fan, you're going to
find your blushing colors inyour reds and pinks and you can

(09:32):
go and match those in the store.
That's another option for you.
Okay, so that's how you so wehave we've got the Chroma the
bright versus soft, we had thewarm versus cool. And then the
last is your depth. Becauseright now you if you're fair
like me I'm very fair I'm verylight I have light hair, skin
and eyes so lighter colors aregoing to be more harmony with

(09:53):
me. wearing a dark makeup on mea darker color isn't as
flattering. doesn't mean youcan't wear darker colors by the
way, but we're talking aboutblushing colors. And that
formula of that approachabledoesn't mean deep, bold colors
necessarily or high contrast. Sowe're going more into the
harmony of your natural skincolor right? So you've got your

(10:16):
depth, so if you're about mediumuntil mid or you have medium
dark eyes, medium hair, you cango into the medium range of
those blushing colors. And ifyou are deep, you're going to
probably want the deeperversions of those colors. The
one exception to the rule mightbe if you are someone that is
bright, cool and deep in yourcolor style, you demand more of

(10:39):
a high contrast and so some ofthe rules are broken. You might
actually want the brightest pinkor the brightest red even though
it's also going to likely beyour power color because that
brightness and contrast is mostflattering on you. You may
actually be able to pull off anicy color where someone who else
is deep and warm cannot do that.
So there's a little bit of rulesthat are broken there for

(11:02):
someone who's bright, cool anddeep. But as a general rule, go
with what is her most harmoniouswith your overall skin and tone
so if your light were lightercolors light to medium, if your
medium right there's that sweetspot of medium colors and if
you're deep go with medium todeep colors and that is your

(11:22):
blushing colors. Now again ifyou need visuals, there's
there's videos out on YouTube.
There is your color fans thatyou can refer to and of course
the course with your printablesand lots of photo examples and
the Discover your signaturecolors. course and by the way
you can find that the membershipif you go to your color

(11:43):
style.com slash member you'llfind that course with that's
included in that membership. Butagain, the blushing colors for
me isone of my favorite signature
colors. When I wear my blushingcolors. I just I personally just
feel very feminine, very pretty.
I it's my go to color for videosfor interviews when I go out at

(12:07):
night on a date with my husband.
I really liked to wear thosecolors I gravitate often to my
blushing colors when I'mshopping. It is a color that can
really go with a lot of thingstoo. So if you're thinking about
how you might wear that blushingcolor, well obviously wear it as
a top, find scarves in it bagsin it, maybe even shoes in it
your nail polish is a great wayto introduce that color into

(12:31):
your color palette as well asyour lipstick and blush
obviously, but then you can pairit with colors that are on the
opposite side of the color wheelso deep all of greens navy blue,
you know your blushing colorsare going to feel warm for you
though it's your kind of yourwarm version of colors so play
with pairing it with a coolercolor and have some fun with it.

(12:54):
Even a turquoise green or deepturquoise green can be very
interesting with your blushingcolors. So that is your blushing
colors one of the five signaturecolors. in future episodes we're
going to dive deep into theother four signature colors. I'm
Jen Vax with your colorstyle.com and thank you so much
