Ever wonder why you keep hitting the same business plateaus despite working harder than ever? The answer might not be in another strategy or tactic—it could be staring right back at you in the mirror.

In this raw, unfiltered episode recorded poolside at my health club during my sacred Friday creativity routine, I dive deep into what truly blocks business growth. The hard truth? Your success depends entirely on your willingness to face your demons and learn the necessary lessons at each stage of your journey. Many entrepreneurs remain stuck at the same level for years because they refuse to address the internal barriers holding them back.

What's fascinating is how our brains often reject the simplest solutions because they feel "too elementary." I share a personal revelation about how I've abandoned fundamental business practices that built my seven-figure coaching business simply because they seemed too basic compared to building complex funnels and content systems. Sometimes, the breakthrough isn't found in doing more complicated things—it's in returning to the fundamentals with consistency and intention.

The path to $100K requires entirely different lessons than the path to $1M. Your business growth mirrors your personal growth, and each level brings new challenges that require fresh perspectives. Whether you're dealing with rejection fear, imposter syndrome, or simply avoiding the "stupidly easy" tasks that would move your business forward, this episode offers the psychological framework to break through.

Ready to face your demons and learn your next lesson? Everything you need is already inside you. Join me on this journey of authentic business growth, and discover how our life coach certification program equips entrepreneurs with the psychological tools to transform both themselves and their clients.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
Hello and what's up my friends.
My name is Josh.
I'm your push coach, excited tohang with you today.
I'm doing a little bit of likean on-the-go episode today from
the health club.
So on Fridays, one of myfavorite thing to do and I do
this almost every Friday likeit's my religion I make myself
leave the house.
I go to the health club and Ido most of my work from outside

(01:28):
and I kind of go in and out ofthe hot tub so I have a pool at
my own house.
But if I'm hanging out at mypool it means I've also got my
dogs distracting me.
It's summertime, I've got thekids distracting me, so
sometimes I just need to getaway from my own space, recharge
, let some creativity flow.
It's like literally my favoriteday of the week and it's kind

(01:48):
of an extra motivation that Iuse.
Monday through Thursday, josh, show up and do some of the
things that are not necessarilyyour favorite things to do, so
that Friday you can do all thefun stuff.
So Fridays I sit around writingemails, journaling, meditating,
taking phone calls.
Today I was actually on thephone for like an hour with Kurt
, who's my podcast producer, just jamming on ideas.

(02:11):
It's such a fun way to end theweek so that I kind of go into
the weekend recharged, ready tospend time with my family.
So today, here's what I want totalk about.
I want to talk about somethingthat I said Monday in my
membership, said it again thismorning to my master coach
program Our success is fullydependent on our willingness and

(02:36):
our ability to face our demonsand learn the next lesson and
learn the next lesson.
There's two parts of this.
One is we have some people thatare just literally still facing
the same demons from threeyears ago and then wondering why
their business hasn't taken off.
And it becomes very clear to meinside my programs when I'm
chatting with people like hey, this is some that's been here

(02:59):
for a while and if we're notgoing to address this, this
business isn't going to take off.
And I don't mean that any typeof a mean or judging or shameful
way, it's just what it is.
If we're not going to facethese demons, we're going to be
constantly stuck here.
It's one of the reasons Ibelieve so much in my
certification, because mycertification gives you the

(03:20):
tools that you need to facethose demons.
You know, it's not about justcranking up some music and
dancing your way through it.
It's about being willing to dothe hard internal work of
actually figuring out like whatare the weeds in my garden that
need to be pulled up and am Iwilling to take the time it
takes to pull them up?

(03:41):
I'll just be super real and rawwith you guys.
That's not fun.
That's not like a supersellable thing.
I will not be putting that onany ads or landing pages anytime
soon.
Come face your demons with me.
Nobody's buying that, but it iswhat needs to be done.
The other thing is the nextlesson.
So sometimes you face somedemons and you get some momentum

(04:01):
, and then you kind of run intoa lid and you're like why am I
not growing more or why am I notgrowing faster?
And sometimes it's becausethere's a lesson right in front
of your face that you're notwilling to embrace.
So I was literally talking toKurt today.
We were talking about something.
I coached him for a little bitand then he coached me for a
little bit.
It was super powerful.

(04:22):
This is why I hire people frommy life coach certification and
when I hire people that haven'tbeen through my certification, I
put them through thecertification because this
creates this incredibleenvironment.
We're sure we have a lot ofgood ideas, but we also can
coach each other through thingsand dig down to the bottom of it
.
And it was so funny becausethere's one specific thing that

(04:44):
Kurt was struggling with andwhen we broke it down, one of
the things he said, he was like,if I did this one specific
thing, oh, that's easy, I know Icould blow the business up.
And I was like okay, well then, why aren't we doing that?
That's the thing.
If that's the easiest thingthat's going to move things
forward the fastest, we need tobe putting all of our time and
energy into it.
And then we were talking aboutmy situation and the same exact

(05:08):
thing came up.
I was like well, there's thesetwo things that I used to do the
first couple of years in mybusiness that I've really gotten
away from, and if I'm justbeing honest, it's kind of just
because they're so elementary, Idon't even know if I want to do
that.
And Kurt was like so whatyou're saying is they're too
easy?
I was like yep, that's what I'msaying.

(05:29):
It's stupidly easy that ourbrain almost can sometimes look
for the harder path and theharder way to do something.
And that's not to say that someof the lessons we need to learn
aren't a little more challenging, because some of them are.
But the point is there's alwaysa lesson that we need to learn
to get to our next level.

(05:49):
So we've all heard next level, next devil I like to say next
level same devil comes back torevisit you a different way and
there's new lessons you got tolearn from that.
So if you're trying to get toyour first hundred thousand,
those are totally differentlessons than what you need to
learn to get to your firstmillion.
They're different lessons andthere is never a time in your

(06:10):
business where you are going tohave more success and more money
just by doing more things.
Now, do more of the rightthings.
Absolutely, that can lead tomoney.
But sometimes we get in ourbrain like, just do more and
then we don't get clear aboutwhat those things are.

(06:32):
We do need to do more.
So one of the things I literallytold Kurt today I said I don't
reach out to leaders like I usedto.
I have so many funnels workingfor me bringing people in that
I've almost got to the pointwhere I trust my funnels too
much and I'm not doing enoughhands-on, day-to-day, to

(06:53):
intentionally connect withleaders.
So I said you know what I'mgoing to do.
I am for the next.
For the rest of the month, I'mgoing to reach out to 10 leaders
every single day and I'll justbe really honest I do not saying
that out loud.
I don't love that.
That doesn't sound exciting.
I'm like, oh yeah, let me gomessage 10 people.
That's so fun.
No, it sounds stupid.
And at the same time I'm like, why does it feel stupid?

(07:15):
That's probably the easiestthing I could do in a day.
Of all of the things that I do,from building entire funnels
and running ads and makingvideos and teaching content,
reaching out to 10 people thatare leaders and saying, hi,
how's things going.
It's like the easiest thing inthe world.
But that's why my brain wants toreject it.

(07:35):
It feels too simple, it feelstoo elementary, and so what we
need to realize is one we haveto be willing to face our demons
.
Some of you are dealing withsome demons afraid of rejection,
afraid of failure, afraid ofsuccess, feeling like an
imposter.
Until we face these demons,it's not going to matter, we

(07:58):
won't take action.
But once we face the demons, then we can start learning the
lessons.
Where are the holes in mybusiness?
Where are the holes in mysystem?
Am I connecting with the wrongpeople?
Am I putting out the wrongmessage?
There's all of these lessonsthat need to be learned along
the way.
Putting out the wrong message.
There's all of these lessonsthat need to be learned along
the way.
So if you face your demons andopen yourself to learn the next

(08:19):
lesson, success becomes a loteasier.
I love you so much, friends, Iappreciate you so much.
I hope the sound is okay.
Kurt always does such anincredible job of cleaning up
the sound, but I'm outside rightnow and at the health club
there's a ton of kids playing inthe pool about 30 yards away
and hot tub jets about two feetaway.
So hopefully the sound is okay.
He always does an incrediblejob, but if the quality isn't

(08:42):
quite as good today, it'sbecause I'm literally recording
this on my phone with my metasunglasses the built-in speakers
on my meta sunglasses, so I'mnot my normal studio setup.
I'm sure he's going to make itsound incredible, because he
always does, but I love you guysso much, I believe in you so
much.
