The Holy Spirit is the principal agent in salvation. The Spirit is the one who convicts us of our sin and shows us our need for Jesus. He draws us to put our faith in Jesus, and it is his work of regeneration that gives us our spiritual birth. Without his work, we would remain spiritually dead. His work of conviction continues in the life of a believer when we sin to lead us back into the will of God.. Once we say “YES” to Jesus, the Holy Spirit places his divine seal upon us, guaranteeing that we are heirs with Christ and continually assuring us that we belong to Jesus. He is constantly protecting and guarding our faith to present us to Jesus on the day of redemption. These works of the Spirit give us deep assurance, strong confidence, and a holy boldness as we live in Jesus and as we proclaim His truth to others who are far from Him.
