There is confusion and a lack of clarity among many in the church throughout the centuries about the person of the Holy Spirit. We must learn to think clearly and biblically, for the Holy Spirit has much to teach us and to work within and through us. We must first be clear about the deity of the Spirit—that He is God. Further, he’s not an impersonal force, but a person who can be grieved and who delights to empower and to guide. Finally, we must come to embrace the indispensable role that the Holy Spirit plays in our lives. Without him, we are virtually powerless. With him, our lives truly become supernatural.
