Gekommen, um zu bleiben? Ob Ragweed, Drüsiges Springkraut, Sommerflieder oder die Kanadische Goldrute – einige dieser Pflanzen scheinen fast schon zur Selbstverständlichkeit geworden zu sein. Sie sind so genannte Neophyten, in unseren Breiten nicht ursprünglich und durch menschliche Einwirkung verbreitet worden. Konrad Pagitz ist Experte für diese „Neu-Pflanzen“.
Pagitz forscht am Institut für Botanik der Universität Innsbruck im Bereich der „Evolutionären Systematik“ und ist Leiter des Kompetenzzentrums Neophyten in Tirol in Kooperation mit der Abteilung Umweltschutz des Landes Tirol. Seit Jahren sind die vielfältigen „Neu-Pflanzen“ und der Umgang mit ihnen ein wesentlicher Teil seiner Arbeit.
