Im Rahmen der Ausstellung »BarabásiLab. Hidden Patterns« stellte der international renommierte Mediziner Prof. Dr. Harald Schmidt sein Buch »Geheilt statt behandelt« vor, das im Mai letzten Jahres erschienen ist.
Der Autor führt hier aus, warum die Medizin ratlos ist und wir die meisten Erkrankungen nicht verstehen. So werden oft nur die Symptome, nicht die Ursachen behandelt. Als einer der Pioniere der »Systemmedizin« prognostiziert er daher das Ende der Medizin, wie wir sie kennen, und ihre radikale Veränderung durch die Digitalisierung. Er zeigt wie Big Data zum Heilen und Vorbeugen genutzt oder wie Diagnostik durch künstliche Intelligenz erfolgen kann. Mit seinem Buch schlägt Schmidt vor, Medizin und Gesundheit ganz neu zu denken.
