24 сентября американский телеканал ABC возобновил показ вечернего шоу «Jimmy Kimmel Live», которое почти на неделю сняли с эфира после высказываний ведущего Джимми Киммела об убийстве консервативного активиста Чарли Кирка.
После высказываний Киммела глава американской Федеральной комиссии по связи Брендан Карр порекомендовал телесетям отказаться от трансляции шоу, а ABC и Disney посоветовал отстранить или уволить ведущего. Сразу после этого Disney приостановила программу.
В июле стало известно о скором закрытии другого вечернего шоу — The Late Show на телеканале CBS, которое ведет Стивен Кольбер. Канал назвал это решение «чисто финансовым», однако многие сочли, что реальная причина была политической: в своем шоу Кольбер неоднократно критиковал Дональда Трампа.
