网球这项运动，可以说是贯穿了今天故事讲述者刘运智的一生。从运动员、裁判、教练到场地建设者，她和网球羁绊了 70 年。
在过去，网球被称为是贵族运动，一直是上层阶级的社交游戏。因为对场地的要求比较高，普通人很少有机会接近。但今天，在刘运智这样的，一代又一代的「网球人」的推动下，网球早已经走进了寻常百姓家。
前不久，国家体育总局网球运动管理中心发布的《中国网球事业发展基础数据》报告显示，2024年中国网球人口已经达到 2500 多万人，相比 2021 年增长率达到了28.03%。网球人口在全球范围内仅次于美国。
网球在今天的中国，已经成为了不折不扣的热门运动。今天，就让我们通过刘运智的故事，来听听她见证的中国网球半个多世纪的成长史。
