I saw the news about Bob Newhartand I couldn't remember whose list he was
on because I was so out ofit. Uh and uh, yeah,

(04:38):
I don't feel like that was asurprise. No, he's ninety four or
whatever. Yo, Okay, surehe's dead, but funny. I saw
one of his jokes. I waslike, that's so funny, and he
was like, I don't like countrymusic. It's it's uh, it's a

(05:00):
degenerate music, denigrating music, orsomething like that, and then he goes
and not anybody that likes it,that's fine, But for cowboys dinner great
means like it's like a backhanded insult. And that's just the type of comedian
was. And if I remember right, he stopped he was an accountant and

(05:23):
he was going to he stopped doingthat and tried to be a comedian.
Was like, I'll give it oneyear and we'll see what happens. If
it doesn't work, I'll go backto being an accountant. It worked out,
okay, from one extreme to thecomplete other complete I mean accountant not

(05:43):
the funniest of jobs, right,Like depends on who you ask, Yeah,
I guess. But then to makeit as a comedian slash actor,
you know, completely different side ofthe spectrum. I mean, both are
incredibly stressful. I would think.Sure, he's mostly known for like TV
work, right, I see thathe's done some movies, like he was

(06:06):
an elf illegally blonde, But Ionly really remember him from The New Heart
Show in the eighties. Yeah, that's it. I mean that's how I
know him. I don't know himas a movie actor, right, Yeah,
the Bob Newhart Show and his drydelivery right, brilliant, and I
think he wrote that show too.Oh yeah, yeah, the idea of

(06:30):
you know, is it my brotherDarryl, my other brother Daryl, my
brother. I mean that's that isa pinnacle line of late eighties comedy.
Oh yeah, yeah, a lotof TV, some movies, but like,
he never really had prominent roles inhim. I think probably Elf,
I think would be his least Iwould consider his biggest movie role. Legally

(06:57):
Blonde is a pretty big movie.Yeah, but Elf has big belf Is
two Yeah, yeah, I justdon't remember him, and Legally Blonde too,
I've never seen either one. Yeah, I don't care. Same really
really, that feels like your wheelhouseso much. That does seem odd that
you why not? You love ReeseWitherspoon. It's a feminine power movie.

(07:19):
Yeah, it's got all the makings. Yeah, I don't know timing,
Maybe I don't. I have watchedsome garbage movies girls, clue, no
clue, I've never seen it.We all watched any garbage. Ah.
I loved Barbie. I haven't seenit either. I have no care.

(07:40):
Again, I don't have time tosit down and watch a movie. Yeah,
I barely have time to catch upon House of Dragon and these other
shows I'm trying to watch, which, by the way, House of Dragons,
it's so good. Did you watchyesterday? So I have no God,
I just watched you yesterday. Ijust watched the week before all right,

(08:01):
on that one was kind of hardto keep in with, I think
anyway, Okay, yeah, Imean a lot of character development. I
guess, I don't know. Youjust want dragon slaying. Well, yeah,
and boobs, which not as manyboobs on this one as as as
was with the you know, uhyeah, the other see boobs got me,
not all Game of Thrones. Thereyou go. Well, in the

(08:24):
beginning Game of Thrones went through thisarc. We're in the beginning, it
was like you couldn't get away fromit right right, which is fine,
And then it went into like noMad's Land right after Hoardor's penis. Yeah's
just no boobs at all. Andthen and then there was a couple like
here they must have read the emails, uh huh, and they're like,
okay, throw some all right, keep the keep the low hanging fruit happy,

(08:48):
let's send guys we got We're notgonna have as many boobs in this
new series. House of Dragons.I know, I know, I'm sorry.
I know that's what they really want, but I'm really, I'm really
after this one for the artful masterpiecethat it should be. There was a
show on HBO. I forget whoare the two actors from X Files David

(09:11):
Ducoveney and Julie Anderson. Good job, GIMPI, I love the Xbox.
Okay, why are you shocked bythe That was quick. I totally expected
him to know that Californication was ashow that David du Coveny had, and
in the beginning that show was everyweek. It was a ton of boobs
and a ton of sex. Heplays a writer who writes this book and

(09:33):
he's famous and he capitalized. Andthen like the second or third season gone,
not a one. You figure it'sin the name, that's why they
have the sex in there, thisCalifornication. Fornication mmmmm get it? Well
didn't? Yeah? But also yeah, California. So I didn't automatically go
there, didn't That one get canceledbecause of him? Like he in real

(09:56):
life had a sex addiction and itgot to be too and he went into
like a sex rehab or and itwas killing his marriage with TiO. Yes,
it was on seven years, soI don't know if you go seven
years, it may have they mayhave said the word cancel. But it
ran its seven years, is runningits course, I think, Yeah,

(10:18):
I agree, it's a good run. Yeah, but that may have been
his ultimate quote demise. Yeah.Yeah. They says here that there wasn't
any particular reason other than that justfelt like it was time for too Uh
yeah, it was. It waslosing its magic because he was on the
up and up in the in theshow. I think he's a sex addict,
right, Okay. I thought itspilled over into his real life and

(10:41):
that was it. He he wasalso I don't know if you remember this
or not, but he was alsoin Red Shoe Diaries really from way back
in the early nineties. If youremember that, that was I can't say
I've even seen one episode. Really, oh yeah, man, because that

(11:03):
that was Skinnamax naughtiness and it's youknow, prime right there before before Cinemax
is like, listen, we're notgonna be doing this anymore. We're gonna
clean up. We're gonna be areal legit okay, broadcast company or what
I mean. It worked out yeahit did. But yeah Red Shoe Diaries,
magg he was, he was inthat way back in the day.
Okay, ten episodes with that.Yeah, he's an Okay actor, I

(11:28):
wouldn't say everything I see in him, I'm like, that's so good.
Yeah, for sure, Sure he'syou know, it's it's not breathtakingly amazing,
but he good. I he getsa job done. Sure he was
in Sex and the City too,was he. But Jillian Anderson, she
is phenomenal. Anything I've ever seenher in, she's really good. Okay,

(11:54):
I'm trying to think of anything thatI'm like, yeah, what is
that? That was amazing? Whatwas I mean? I know she's been
a lot of stuff and she's agreat actor, but nothing, just aside
from The X Files she really jumpsout. She's in this TV show called
Sex Education and she plays a Britishwoman nails it, who's a sex therapist.

(12:20):
Let's see. I'm trying to thinkof some of the other things that
are on here that I've seen herin because I'm not like a, I
don't go looking for stuff she's in, right exactly. She's not a huge,
huge actress. Yeah, and thatSex Education isn't even on here as
a show. She's been in stupidWikipedia, stupid Wikipedia user. Oh,

(12:41):
because I was looking at the ohthe Crown. Yeah, she was Margaret
Thatcher in the Crown. She killedit, okay, Warren p Sure,
Robot chicken nice. Yeah, She'sbeen a lot of a lot of TV
shows and no name movies, iswhat it looks like. She was in
the Hannibal TV show, which Idid not watch. No, I tried,

(13:01):
couldn't get into it. She playedherself in The Simpsons. How about
that? Daniscully? How about that? And if I'm being honest, I've
watched about five episodes of The XFiles. Really it's fine. It was
good. It wasn't like amazing. But typically anytime I watch a sci fi

(13:24):
show on network television, so,ABC, CBS, NBC, right,
it never meets my expectation because there'sa limitation on how much they can do
right, right, I'll give youthat. I always thought it was good
the first like two seasons, threeseasons. I think in the very beginning
of The X Files, awesome, all this weird, weird stuff they're towards
the end it kind of got,you know, lost its touch for me.

(13:48):
But I still remained a fan tothe point to like, even when
they brought it back a couple ofyears ago, just for that short little
stint it was like maybe six sevenepisodes something like that, was like,
all right, that's cool. Iknow, still good, still good,
But you know, I get intothat sort of thing. Sure and listen.
If you loved it, it doesn'tmean anything. I just for me,

(14:09):
it never met that expectation. It'dbe like if you go back to
the nineties and they tried to dothe Walking Dead, it wouldn't work.
I wouldn't be able to watch it. They'd have to limit how much they
could show, right, And it'shard to sell a zombie show without blood
and brains porn out right, right, right, right, That's why it
fits so good on television. Yeah, I'm looking down the rabbit hole of

(14:31):
David Ducovney films, and he's solid. He plays solid parts. They're smaller
ones. But he was the Dadand you people, which was good with
Eddie Murphy played opposite Eddie Murphy wasthe the Okay, that's a good It
was on Netflix. What is hisname? The Leo DiCaprio's best friend,

(14:54):
Fat Hill. Yeah, Jonah Hill. Yeah, he plays his dad in
that, okay, And he wasgreat in that. And then you said
yourself that was like a partial role. Like how much screen time did he
get? Right? Right, No, I'm asking. I don't know.
Probably only ten minutes. No morethan that. I would say like probably

(15:15):
a good half hour probably, soa third of the film. Yeah,
when he's in it, he's solid. And then I love this as an
older movie. But returned to me, he's the love in two thousand he
was in that. It's a romcom. The jones Is in two thousand
and nine with Demi Moore, hewas the husband in that, So hold

(15:41):
on, return to Me, MinieDriver David du Coveney David Duchovny's wife dies
and she her heart is given tothis other woman and he receives a letter
in the mail from the woman whogets the heart transplant and he falls in

(16:03):
love with her. Weird. Yeah, yeah, that's so creepy. It's
a good movie. It really is. Here what did you say? The
other one? Zuo Lender? Okay? And uh queer Ducks of movie okay?
What else? The Joneses House ofwith Demi Moore? What's that about?

(16:30):
They are this family that moves intoa neighborhood and they try to keep
everyone buying things to keep up withthe Joneses. And you said that basically
keep everyone going broke. Yeah, that was a flop. It was budget
ten million, made only seven,so that's considered not a good movie.
The Things We Lost in the Fire, I remember seeing that one with Uh,

(16:53):
who's the Benicio del Toro. Ithink that's his name. I see
that on here. What's the moviecalled Things we Lost in the Fire?
I don't see that on here? What's oh there? What's it about?
In a fair budget? Sixteen onlymade eight? Halle Berry, Yeah,

(17:18):
halle Berry's in it. Okay, what else? I don't know? Those
were a few. Yeah, he'snot in much, but when he's in
something, I feel like he isa good He's good. I mean,
if I'm being honest, I'm lookingat these movies. I don't see any

(17:41):
that I'm like, he killed itin that. Maybe. Yeah, I
don't have one. The X Filesmovie, I guess, okay, only
because that show is so popular. But none of these look like I don't
know any of these of being massivemovies. None that he was like the

(18:02):
main roller, right, like Zoolanderwas huge, sure, right, but
when you think of Zulander, youdon't think you don't think David ducoveny.
No, sorry, David Dukeveny.No. Beethoven was huge. But again,
he wasn't the star in that one. Everybody knows the dog was.
He was in Chaplain, which isa great movie. He so he was

(18:23):
in Ruby, great movie, notthe main guy. Right. That's there's
a lot of those great actors outthere that there aren't ever the main character.
Good TV actors, fringe movie actors. Yeah, what was the secret?
All right? Yeah, all right, we got tickets to five Finger

(18:45):
Death Bunch. We're gonna give awaythat. The show is gonna be August
thirteenth at the Walmart Amphitheater. Getyour tickets damp tickets dot com. And

gibam Lindsay with what's going on newsquakiesfrom the Big Mad Morning showing nineties on
the five AMoD cocaine sharks found inwaters off Brazil. In Rio de Janaro,
scientists report the first proof that theanimals are indeed exposed to cocaine.

(19:59):
Thirteen na sharp nose sharks taken fromcoastal waters near Rio Desanio had traces of
the drug in their muscles and livers. Research report this week in Science of
the Total Environment. The findings arevery important and potentially worrying, says Sarah
Novaus, a marine echo toxicologist atthe Marine and Environmental Sciences Center. She

(20:25):
says she wasn't involved in the study, cautions that more research are needed to
determine whether the sharks or the humanswho eat them are harmed by the exposure.
Cocaine has been detected in sewage andrivers in many countries, including Brazil
around Rio Dejanio. The drug probablyenters the sea directly in drainage from illegal

(20:49):
labs where cocaine is refined, andit also comes from drug users via untreated
sewage. It's the packs are lostor dumped by traffickers. It could also
be the source. They say thatthey bought some of these sharp nose sharks

(21:11):
who spend their entire lives in coastalwaters. They bought the sharks, they
tested them. They found them intheir livers and in the muscles, thirteen
of them. After dissecting the sharksin the lab, all samples came back
positive and the concentrations were as muchas one hundred times higher than previously reported

(21:33):
from other aquatic creatures. And itsevidence of the increasing danger of cocaine pollution.
And apparently in Brazil it is theyeat a lot of shark there and
if highly contaminated with cocaine, theysay that this will be a health risk.
Cocaine is a hell of a drug. Yeah. Yeah, not just

(21:57):
a kiatchy movie title anymore. CocaineSharknado. Yeah much for it on Netflix.
Yeah, the show Emperor's Helper Foundwithout any clothes. This comes out
of Florida, where cops got acall to a retirement village because there was
this dude named Gregory Gornell standing inthe middle of this common area naked as

(22:22):
a jaybird. So they get overthere and they're like, hey, man,
what are you doing? And he'slike, I'm staying here because the
Emperor said I could and I'm hishelper. And they're like, okay,
weirdo, how do we get ahold of the Emperor And he says through
the electric lines, duh. Andanyway, they went ahead and took him

(22:45):
in for trespassing again because he hasalready been trespassed at this place once before.
Took him in for trespassing. Hepled no contest, but they went
ahead and made him guilty. Anyway, I says here that he's been popped
before for possession of cocaine and weedand trespassing and eating sharks with cocaine and

(23:07):
eating sharks with cocaine, because that'swhat it looks like his mugshot for sure.
YouTube daredevil car racer arrested in stringof burglaries, who a man known
for posting these videos on YouTube ofhim speeding around New York City, has
been arrested in connection with a stringof burglaries. Nineteen year old Antonio You'll

(23:27):
Never catch Me Gina Stree was chargedTuesday for burglaries at businesses in roseland Fairfield
Sea Caucus, Hasbrook Heights. Ginistryis known online as Squeeze Bins and the
basis of his channel is to filmhimself driving high in cars in a reckless

(23:51):
manner to entice police response while wearinga full face helmet to hide his identity.
And he has been caught. Didn'thide his identity very well, did
it. I mean, I don'tknow. I don't know how they connected
him. Dude, He's got eighthundred and forty five followers on Instagram.
Oh, eight hundred and forty five. Huh sorry thousand? Oh yeah,

(24:15):
so there is more than me though, even eight hundred and forty five.
I am fascinated that that he justthought it would be completely fine and no
one will catch me, all right. It's one of those I'm untouchable sort
of things. Is that got halfa half a million subscribers on YouTube dahle
of him being ridiculous getaway driver.Right, wheel man, that's what it's

(24:38):
called. He's the wheelman yeah,Okay, that wouldn't make sense. You
know, they're causing these burglaries andhe's a good driver, that's what he
does. Okay, Right, thatdoesn't stop you. I mean, even
though you didn't steal anything, you'restill guilty. Man, You're still part
of it, accessory to the crime. I'm just fascinating that so many people
watch these videos of him just drivingsuper fast and he's nineteen. It's not

(25:03):
like he knows what he's doing, right, I know, if he grew
up driving short track, right orsomething like, Okay, like he'd been
doing it since he was sixteen, but he lives in New York City that
she had him doing short track? No, it's pretty small, no,
but growing up in the street racingscene in New York City. Yeah,

(25:27):
yeah, I mean there's more thanjust Times Square in New York City,
right, And there's more. There'smore areas what I'm saying, of course
there is, but it's also prettycongested. Yeah, all of it not
not conducive to street racing. I'msure there's a place out there somewhere obviously
in rural New Yorkshire, but NewYork, New York City, New York.

(25:47):
Yeah. In the videos It showshim nearly wrecking a lot, right
because it's New York City. Fourminutes of him just speeding through and swerving.
That's saying, I'm good. Ohmy gosh, it gives me anxiety
just watching it. I'm puckering. When you're nineteen, you're superman, right,
right, truth? Right, there'sthis. My wife is watching Big

(26:11):
Brother and they just started the nextseason and one of the girls is kind
of tall, and she's like, you have to be taller than me and
heels, And I just think that'sso funny, right, yeah, because
if you're six two and you wearheels, good luck. Yeah right,
you need us to ask watch andjust to be twenty or nineteen and have

(26:33):
that type of outlook. Man,so fun to watch. Yeah, let's
watch this unfold because I fully predicther to get with the shortest, chubbiest
guy that's conducive to who she normallygets. Right, all right, we
got to take a break. Allthese stories are on our Facebook page at

(27:18):
It's the Big Man Morning Show foursix okmo d You can also taxt bmmass

see what Lindsay has for balls tothe wall Sports. The Green Bay Packers

(27:48):
have rewarded one of their veterans witha new contract. ESPN reports on Sunday
that the team signed Kenny Clark toa three year, sixty four million dollars
contract. Right, yeah, goodfor them. He'll earn twenty nine million
this upcoming season. The nose tackletallied seven and a half sacks last season

(28:10):
to go with forty four tackles.Clark is a three time Pro bowler and
was selected twenty seventh overall in thetwenty sixteen draft. He has thirty four
sacks and three hundred and eighty tacklesto go with seven forced fumbles over his
eight year career. And the Giantsstarting quarterback is ready for training camp.

(28:30):
That's according to Daniel Jones, whotold the media on Sunday that he expects
to be a full participant when Vetsreport to mandatory practice on Tuesday. The
dynamic gunslinger is coming off ACL surgeryback in November, which kept him out
of OTA's last month. The twentyseven year old was limited to six games

(28:52):
last season, but went nine tosix and one in twenty twenty two with
more than thirty two hundred passing andseven hundred rushing yards. The Texans are
adding an experienced playmaker to their backfield. ESPN is reporting that Houston has signed
free agent veteran running back Cam Acresto a contract. Acres is coming off

(29:15):
a torn left achilles that he sufferedin Week nine of last season while suiting
up for the Minnesota Vikings. Hehas torn his left achilles tendon twice,
after also sustaining the injury during thetwenty twenty one off season. The twenty
five year old has rushed for onefive hundred and eighty one yards and eleven
touchdowns through thirty six career games spentwith the Vikings and the Los Angeles Rams.

(29:41):
How much did he play last year? Not very much? No,
no, because he suffered the tornachilles in week nine. Yeah. He
In four years, he's played twentyeight twenty nine to thirty thirty forty games.
It doesn't seem like a long no, you play almost twenty games of

(30:03):
season was sixteen seventeen games a seasonhe played six last year. Won the
year before fifteen and twenty twenty twowon the year before that thirteen. And
Yeah, they're giving him a chance, is what that is. Oh didn't
say how much money they're giving themeither, so it must not be too
much. And I think that, don't They have mixing in the backfield now

(30:26):
at Houston. Yeah, yeah,so I think they're they're just giving him
a chance. That's that's a nothingburger. The Americans are wrapping up the
USA Basketball Showcase. Team USA men'sbasketball is set to play Germany today in
London. This is the first timethat the two countries will go head to
head on the hardwoods since two thousandand four, when the US down Germany

lost, almost they won in thelast eight seconds. This is the last
time that Team USA will hit thecourt before beginning play in the Paris Olympics

(31:11):
against Serbia on July twenty eighth. They were like, we need to get
Kerr out of there, are youkidd? You're not coaching these guys right
there. They're not coaching. You'redoing your best to keep their morale up
right. And that's it. Youthink he's gonna make them run sprints right
because they almost lost to South Sudan. That's what happened. Yeah, and

(31:34):
Team WNBA had their way with theWomen's Olympic basketball squad by the final score
of one seventeen to one oh nine. The most notable performance of the game
came from marique A Gunbawalle, whoput up thirty four points, breaking the
events all time scoring record, andall of those points came in the second
half, with twenty one coming injust the third quarter, making her the

(31:59):
Clearcut MVP. The w NBA AllStars also, of course, featured Kitlin
Clark and Angel Reese, with Reesehitting another double double and Clark notching up
ten assists. I will say thatthat that game may get her fired the
coach of the team USA. Okay, Yeah, because she passed over two
players Reese and Caitlyn Clark because ofspite and she just got whooped. Yeah,

thing that happened this weekend? Andbmms and whatever that is to eight two
nine four five. What's the bestand worst of the weekend? Lindsey,
The best is when I love whenKevin can get off of work on time
to join me for a night outwith friends. And he was able to
do that, so we did that. Friday, celebrated a birthday love surprise

(33:52):
parties and it was Perry. Itwas a perfect night, and so we
did that. The worst of myweekend was probably yesterday when two of my
three boys, uh felt like theywere competing to see who could give me
the biggest heart attack when my oldestdecided to ride a scooter without a shirt

(34:14):
on and got a road rash onhis back and scraped up the bottom and
top of his foot. He gotalready broken off. No, he's got
a fractured wrist and he's riding ascooter year in a cash yep without a
shirt Yep, yep, yep.Smart one. Mom that one she's inside

(34:35):
drinking. Yeah. Uh, sohad to butterfly, the little butterfly tape
the scratch on his back after cleaningit with scratch a road rash, road
rash. But he's got a cut. You ain't using a butterfly band aid?
Yeah, I'm well, we useda butterfly and a band aid and

(35:00):
we but first we had to cleanout the wound with alcohol because we didn't
have peroxide, so he had likeasphalt in there, and he deserved it.
Have you seen the thing have youseen the thing that says don't use
alcohol and hydrogen peroxid to clean outwounds. I've heard about not using peroxide

(35:23):
because it causes necrosis. Yeah, diet kills your skin. Yeah, okay,
how about that dough? The wholetime, my whole life growing up,
always used it. If it's gettingthe dirt out, yeah, exactly,
But apparently that ain't good. Apparentlyyou shouldn't be doing that. And
then the other one also red.We decided to walk over the yard and

(35:45):
yeah, right, and cut hitthe bottom of his foot, Like how
many times do we have to saydon't go outside without shoes on? What?
Did he cut his foot on athorn? Maybe? But it just
it's slice what looked like to belike the bottom of his heel where it's
calloused up, so it was likethe tough skin, you know, but

(36:07):
it was more of a clean cut. But still it's like, come on,
you guys, they're boys. Iknow, I know, I know
they're pre teen and teenage boys.Of course they're gonna hurt themselves. And
it doesn't stop the kids kids hurtthemselves. Yep. Best and worst of
the weekend. What's the best thingthat happened this weekend and the worst thing
that happened this weekend? Bmms inwhatever that is to eight two nine four

(36:29):
five gimbee. Best would be thebirthday celebrations. There was more than one.
Uh. The absolute best would beFriday night. My girl's birthday was
back on the eleventh. But thegirl you're seeing, yes, yes,
but she had her kids, sowe couldn't celebrate. So we pulled it
off until this past Friday when shedidn't have any kids or anything. So

(36:52):
I got my crew together and throughher a nice surprise party. She does
and she's never really celebrated her birthdaybefore, is what she tells me.
And I was like, well that'sgoing to change. So all my homies,
man, I'll tell you what.I count on every last one of
them anytime. And I had tomeet us at the market. They got
there early, you know, seteverything up, decorated cake, all that

(37:12):
stuff, and it was getting thepeople out. It's like eight thirty or
so, and I was like,I was keeping in contact with one of
them. They're like, well that'sme x y Z da da da da.
It's like a small handful of people. I was like, all right,
well, f whatever, We're gonnago. And if that's all that's
there, that's all that's there. But when we show up, everybody was.
There were like over a dozen peoplethere with us, you know,

(37:35):
and as soon as we opened thedoor, they started singing half Bird.
It was an amazing surprise. Iwas surprised, honestly, but that was
the best. And then Saturday wasmy sister in lawst birthday celebration. So
we went out to the lake.We went and had dinner, we had
drinks, blah blah blah. Itwas. It was a good, awesome
weekend to celebrate aging with friends andfamily. You know, the worst part

(37:59):
of the way. And I'll tellyou this, man, my mom,
I hope she's listening because I amslightly disappointed, but I guess it makes
sense. So for my girl's birthdaydinner, I was like, I have
plants at tag her. You know, she loves Italian food. I'm not
an Italian food kind of guy,but what, Ebs, that's now your
birthday exactly. Yeah, So I'mlike whatever, So I asked her.
I was like, where do youwant to go just to give her what

(38:20):
she wanted to eat, right,it's your birthday. Pick anywhere you want
to go. I don't care.Just as long as we're together. That's
sweet. We're going to the GoldenCorral and her eyes lit the f up.
Dude, she loves the Golden Corralas much as I do. All
right, so I was stoked.I was like, are you serious?
She said, hell, yeah, whoa, Yeah, We're going to the

(38:42):
GC. I'm so excited. Well, the thing about it is is is
the day before that, last Thursday, we went to go watch the Twisters
premiere, right, the new Twistermovie. And before that we hit up
this Chinese buffet that was cross streetfrom my house. Right, So when
it came down to birthday dinner onFriday, she's like, huh we had

(39:06):
a buffet yesterday. I'm still kindof feeling that. And I was like,
oh so so no Golden Corral. So so the worst of the weekend
was not getting to graze at thebuffet. Twice, I wanted to write,
day you didn't get to enjoy thebuffet for her birthday was the Golden
Corral. I mean, the Chinesebuffet was good. All. But this

(39:29):
is the GC man where you gotGod and everything on that buffet. That's
all right. My birthday's coming up. I know where I'm eating. Best
and worst of the weekend. What'sthe best thing that happened this weekend?
And the worst thing that happened thisweekend? Bmms and whatever that is to
eight two nine four five. Uh. Best part of the weekend for me
would be that the weather was niceyesterday and I didn't do anything. I

(39:52):
didn't have to do anything. Ididn't have to move, which is great.
It was a choice. Worst partof the weekend is Thursday night,
Friday, Saturday didn't move. Butthat wasn't my choice. Just not feeling
well and being sick. It was. I don't know what it is.
I'm turning fifty in January. WhenI get sick, it is way worse

(40:14):
than it's ever been. It likedestroys me. I was telling Lindsay this
morning. I think I slept Thursday. I went to bed at I got
home from the show, and Islept for a couple hours, and then
I went to urgent care and thenI came home and I slept for thirteen
hours. And then the next nightI went to bed early and slept for

(40:37):
another twelve hours like that is notthat is not normal for me. But
at least I'm getting better. Bestand worse the weekend. What's the best
thing that happened? The worst thingthat happened? Best got to record two
cool shows. And my page isreally popping lately. I might be over

(40:58):
my head though. Worst found outmy little sister's boyfriend has been lying hands
laying hands on her. And I'vebeen feeling left out lately by being the
only child without a mugshot? Isthat really a bad thing? I mean,
keep up with the jones as Iget it. I guess uh.

(41:21):
Best, Worst talk to a friendout, talked to friend out of suicide
before he got admitted. For theweekend, Best raised seven hundred dollars at
a fundraiser. Worst found out afriend has stage three cancer. Does that
mean you have to do another fundraiser? Or was that who the fundraiser was
for? Good question? And Idon't think seven hundred dollars is gonna get

(41:43):
you far on the cancer treatment center. No, but it could create some
help. It could pay a billelectric bill. Worst had to bury my
wife's old Wiener dog. Best thebitch is dead. Are we talking about
the dog or your wife? She'sa nice lady. I'm assuming he's talking

(42:12):
about the dog. Yeah. Sure. So the worst part was you had
to bury a dog, and thebest was you didn't like it anyway,
right, right, Well, nobodylikes to handle a dead body, no
matter what. It's a dog,That's what I say. But you'd be
surprised how many people get squeamish whenthey're dealing with a dead animal. It's
a dead animal. It's not likeit's a rotting carcass, right, it's
first technically it is at that pointit started. But I mean, you

(42:35):
know what I'm talking about, maggotis Yeah, yeah, it's not leaving
a stain on the carpet from whereit had been laying there for the past
five days. Come on, you'renot gonna get any germs on you be
fine. Just use it. It'sa wiener dog. Use a shovel exactly,
or a dust pan, or justkick it into the grave, out
the house, through the backyard. It was part of the family. Yeah,

(42:59):
so you don't even bury our lovedones in the backyard, not anymore.
So, I don't know what youdo not for a long time.
You can if you want, butnot for a long time. You got
to call oak Buck for that.Like I'm about to bury my mom in
my backyard. Can you always callbefore you dig? Right, it doesn't
matter. That's a separate That isa fair across the board community service.

(43:22):
Always call before you dig, whetherit's for a pool or a grave.
Yeah. The the the thing thatI was thinking, because we've talked about
this before, is in the stateof Oklahoma, you can bury a loved
one in your backyard, right,do you remember? I think so?

(43:43):
And if you do, do Ihave to disclose that when I sell the
house. I think the headstone orthe tombstone in the back you don't have
to have one, might give itaway. You don't have to have one.
The grave marker might give it away. But if you don't have round
of dirt might give it away.Hey, listen, the sticks you put
together with twine to make it looklike a cross hardly constitute. But I

(44:09):
think you can in the in thestate of Oklahoma, can you bury a
body of home? There are nostate laws in Oklahoma that prohibit home burial,
but local governments may have rules governingprivate burials. Before conducting a home
burial or establishing a family cemetery, check with the town or the county clerk
to see if there's any zoning rulesyou may have to follow. Some would

(44:31):
say there's only rules if you ask, right, right. Everything's legal until
you get caught. Man, Well, yeah, everything is legal until you
get caught. If you saw yourneighbors, can you see in your neighbors
backyard, lindsay, no, notat all. No, Okay, if
I guess, if I really triedthrough the fence, okay, can you

(44:52):
see in your neighbor's backyard for sure? All right? So, if you
were looking into your neighbor's backyard andyou saw them digging a a four by
seven hole below the frost line, are you you're gonna definitely watch. I'll

(45:13):
watch from a distance. I don'tknow if I'm gonna get involved, though,
to be honest with you, Idon't know if I'm gonna call the
cops and be like, hey,my neighbor, it looks like my neighbor's
burying a body in his backyard.I'm just not gonna Okay, they don't,
but they they you see him thesun setting, or maybe it's early
in the morning and he it's wrappedup in a rug, right, or

(45:37):
a trash bag or a trash bag. Yeah, even then, not my
business. How do I know thathe doesn't have great Danes or something like
that. They just died, andI think you would know they have great
day if you had great Danes andthey were no longer around a horse,
right. I know he's got aGerman shepherd, which is you know,
it's not great Dane size but stilldark. Yeah. So, I mean,

(46:00):
like whatever you that's all I cando. Just whistle and keep on
walking. I'd like to say i'dmind my own business. But I see
you throwing a body into a hole. Yeah right, I'm calling, hey,
hey, Tim doing over there?Oh I know? Yeah? No,

(46:22):
uh no home improvement man, mindyour business, kimp be done.
See you later. Tim. IfI see something suspicious, I'm calling the
police. Period into story and buryinga body is not normal behavior. No.
Like again, I don't know what'sin a rug. I could assume
it's a dog. I could assumeit's a human. I can assume it's

(46:44):
an alien. None of my business, y'all'll just do your thing. I'm
going back inside. Play bit I'mgonna go I just run by a set
of a different set of rules,And when I think something nefarious is going
on, I'm raising my hand becauseif I don't, then I'm allowing it
to happen. Listen, if they'remaking meth in the I got you back,
man, Now you're not minding yourown business. We don't need that

(47:05):
kind of trash in our neighborhood.Cool but impromptu cemetery where all sudden these
coyotes are around. You're like, what is cappity? Did you get with
the count of clerk to make surethat the zoning's good? Right? And
if you can bury your own familyin your backyard, what's the extent of

(47:28):
Like how do they prove that? So, like, couldn't I just open
my backyard as a cemetery and charge, like, you know, gim me
a certain amount of fee and thenbe like, hey, they were like
family, right, right? Andthen they're gonna what make me provide birth
certificates? Right? Probably what ifthey're what if we're not blood but they
raised me right. I'm just saying, like this would be a hard thing

(47:51):
to prove what I have to beburth certificates or adoption papers man. Yeah,
but if now, because there areplenty of people that raise that don't
adopt exactly. Best of the Weekenddrink a lot of beer. Worst of
the Weekend got my ass whipped manytimes on The New College Football twenty five.
I'll say this, watching people playit online, it's made me want

(48:12):
to get it. Yeah, I'vethought about it. I thought about it.
I'm like, I don't know.I think I'll just stick with man.
Best spent four and a half hoursbanging it out with my wife,
settled down. That was four minutesat a time. Yeah, you you
misspelled minute an hour. We're spentfour to five hours banging it out.
Now it's Monday and I can settledown. I'm calling you a liar.

(48:38):
I'm just calling you, straight upa liar. To text that in is
bizarre. Did they just get marriedand no woman? Okay, that's fair,
gimpy, Yeah, yeah, that'sfair. You just came back from
serving our country. She did right, right, but ten no woman wants
ten hours of straight sex? Uh? Yes, there are tax things you

(49:05):
have to go through, okay, anywhere in the New US. Also,
Mickey the Gambler talked about it inthe podcast. Okay, best softball team
I held tryouts for maid worst. My sinuses are kicking my ass. Today
has to be immediate family again, how do you prove it's a media family?
Also freaking me out? You knowthis much about it? Yeah,
I want to talk to you. What's how far is immediate? I think

(49:30):
brothers, sisters, mom, dad, grandma, wife or spouse. Right
children? Of course, what aboutmy children's children. I think that that's
extended a media family the way.But now that's not immediate. It's a
weird. I think they would havea hard time proving it. And also,

(49:51):
how do you look as an electedofficial, right a DA taking somebody
to court suing them. It tobe an exorbitant amount for them to go
through that. And then if peoplewant to come visit them after they've passed,
they're buried in your backyard. Doyou allow that? Yeah? But
here's the thing. This is gonnabe an unpopular take. Nobody goes to

(50:14):
cemeteries. Very few people do.He's not lying. I mean I pass
by my parents' grave damn near everyday because they're buried right across the street
from the town pump. Now here'sthe deal. I do wave every time
I drive. They're very grateful.I'm sure that they are, but they've

(50:37):
been Let's see, Mom passed intwelve, Dad was in sixteen. I
think of all those years, I'veonly stopped by maybe four times. I'm
not saying some people don't. Somepeople that's the way they manage their grief,
and they go every Friday. Andthen there's a lot of people that
bury and then never go ever again. Name the last time you saw when

(51:00):
there isn't a funeral happening a lineright Memorial Day? Nope, I see
somebody, I see some people thatdon't know These people putting flags out.
Yeah, yeah, it's about theonly other time you see all those cemeteries
packed full of people though, hasto be blood family Again. I go
back to what if I adopt?Right? Yeah? Yeah, wof rough.

(51:22):
All right, we gotta take abreak. We'll be back. The
Big Man Morning Show returns next Tilsa'sMorning Show ninety KMOD, Good morning,

(51:44):
It's The Big Man Morning Show.Nine one, eight four six oh kmod
can also text bmms and then whatyou want to say to eight two nine
four five. Let's see what GIMPIhas in his four X four Boman.
It says here that old j bends his reelection. What I hadn't heard,

(52:05):
that's crazy talk. Man Jbi's droppingout of twenty twenty four presidential race
and endorsing his VP Kannala for thejob. This comes after Democrat leaders four
weeks have expressed concerns about the eightyone year old's mental fitness and his path
to victory over the Trump. Bidenwas diagnosed with COVID on Wednesday and has

(52:27):
been in self isolation at his beachhouse in Don't where the Democratic and National
Convention to nominate the party's candidate forpresident is scheduled to be held August nineteenth
through that's once each second. Soif I remember my history correctly, this
has happened a few other times Coolidge, Truman, Johnson, if I remember
correctly. And Truman and Johnson aredifferent because they came in like they only

(52:52):
became president because of an assassination,so their terms were really long, longer
than normal, right, and sothat's the fatigue was there and they were
like, ah, I'm not goingto do it. Like Truman had a
twenty two percent approval rating when hewas like I'm done. So this is
a little this historic but still crazycrazy. The Secret Service director is going
to be on Capitol Hill today.Kimberly Cheetle will be on Capitol Hill today

(53:16):
as lawmakers demand answers over the attempton former President Trump's life. She'll test
Bob four House Overside Committee, whereshe'll be questioned over how East Cipher was
allowed to get within shooting distance ofthe former president at Pennsylvania on last Saturday.
Many lawmakers are calling on Cheetle tostep down or to be fired.
I think this is a giant wasteof time. What do you think she's

(53:38):
gonna say, oops, my bad? Yeah, and that's not gonna be
okay, right. She isn't goingto divulge secrets. She's not going to
give how they get that information, right, It would be a giant misstep
in a public forum to do that. We'll just have to see what yeah,

(53:59):
what else we got here? There'sa bill that would require air conditioning
in all New York City apartments.I didn't know that it wasn't required,
to be honest with you, butit says here, just like they're required
to provide heat in the wintertime.New York City landlords may soon be required
to provide tenants with air conditioning inthe summer. A bill introduced in the
city Council would require landlords to maintainan indoor temperature of no more than seventy

(54:22):
eight degrees when the outdoor temperature topseighty two. The Health Department says about
three hundred and fifty city residents diefrom heats every year. I didn't know
the landlords were like it was anoption. Well, those bills have to
give you as they don't have togive you a seat. That's not requirement.
Even here, a lot of thosebuildings are so old that well,

(54:44):
I mean, but they are. They are so old that they probably they
didn't have them. They but awindow unit, I would expect them.
Yeah, because those apartments are veryvery small too. A window unit would
be nothing to put in. Oldis not an acceptable answer because plenty of
departments get air conditioning. So itis a way to figure it out.

(55:05):
I think just because you have abuilding you rent, you don't get to
use excuses like it's old. Thensell it. Yeah, right right.
Lastly, here, Bigsby Public Schoolsis prohibiting students cell phone use pump up
starting this school year. Kids andBigsby classrooms no longer be able to use
their cell phones. The superintendent saidthe phones are a headache for teachers and

(55:25):
distract students from learning. The superintendentssaid kids can still have their phones,
but they have to be out ofsight. Kids in the tenth through twelfth
grade can't access their phone during lunchand breaks, and all students are allowed
to keep their phones in their bagsas long as you're turned off. I'm
okay with that. Absolutely, yeah, do what you gotta do until somebody
parent goes you're not going to tellmy kid what to do. Absolutely,

(55:52):
we are. It took just sixrounds for Jake Paul to score a TKO
victory over bare knuckle brawler Mike Perryin Dallas on Saturday. Perry hit the
mat three times before the reugh finallycalled about at the one twelve. Mark

(56:15):
Paul is now ten and one withseven knockouts and has Mike Tyson next up
on his dance card on November fifteen. It made no sense Perry didn't have
a chance. Mike Perry is aclose guard fighter, right, and people
have to stop trying to get inthe cage with the ring with this guy.
Jake Paul has power, right, and if you're not one hundred percent,

(56:38):
he's doing it non stop training forit. So when you have someone
that isn't training for it all thetime to suddenly step in and do that,
of course he's gonna get whooped.Yeah, so it makes unless you
are someone who does this all thetime and has for a while, do
not get in the cage or getin the ring with this guy. It
makes no sense. And how tallis Jake Paul and they had a thirty

(56:59):
thirty five pound weight difference between thetwo. That's insanity. How can they
even do that because well, noticehe doesn't do it in Vegas where he
does it. Some are saying he'sdoing it in places where they're testing requirements
are looser. Makes sense, Yeah, right, He's putting on a show.
Whether he's doing YouTube videos in somecemetery in Japan or he's doing it

(57:22):
in a ring, he's doing ashow. And that's your boss of the
Wall Sports. I'm Lindsay at ninetyseven to five KMOD good morning, It's
the Big Man Morning Show. Nineone eight four six oh KM. Can

(57:44):
also text BMMS and then what youwant to say to eight two nine four
five. Good morning Lindsay, Goodmorning Corbyn. There is so much for
you to win at kmod dot com, including tickets to see Alice Cooper at
The Cove on August tenth. Thatis a Saturday night. You gotta be

(58:04):
twenty one or older to win thosetickets and see the show. But sign
up now at the website that rockskmoddot com. Good morning Gibbe Bull,
Good morning Corman. I forget tojoin us this Friday for a fourth patio
parties going down at Jamison's in BrokenHill, right there on one hundred and
forty fifth, just north of seventyFirst, get your middle laxed for two
fitty and come have a good time. All right, time for our listeners

(58:25):
are awesome. This week we're gonnatalk with Jeff. Hello, Jeff,
how are you up on? Howare you? This one? Good?
Jess's been married twelve years. Ialways like to start with this question,
how did you meet your wife?Well? I actually met my current wife
through marriage counseling. So you weregoing you you were going through marriage counseling

(58:50):
with someone else? Correct, Soyou've been married before? Yeah? Okay,
what okay? What caused you togo into marriage counseling. We were
just going through some things. Itwas. Looking back at it was kind
of a latch ditch effort, youknow, just kind of say that we

(59:10):
did. We only went twice.Yeah, my current wife, come to
find out, was the secretary therewhen I first started going. At least
it wasn't the counselor. Okay,so you go, and I think marriage
counseling is the last ditch effort fora lot of couples that are trying to

(59:30):
figure it out. So you goto marriage counseling and the receptionist gives you
a wink or like, how doesit go from you go twice to let's
go on a date? So Idon't remember if it was the first or
second time we were there, butI wasn't paying any attentions. We were

(59:52):
sitting there and my ex wife hadpointed out that the secretary was staring.
I guess. And yeah, fastforward months and months and months down the
road, we were already separated, you know, trying to go through our
divorce. A friend had made mea plenty of fish, and that's how

(01:00:14):
we came in contact and started dating. So you just happened to like it
was a coincidence. This was notuh okay, all right. It wasn't
like, okay, so do youneed to reschedule? No, We're good,
this will be it really right?Right? How did the plenty of

(01:00:35):
fish thy work out? Did that? Did? Like? How many dates
did you go on before you foundthis one? Actually? I had,
you know, she was the firstone I actually went out on a date
with. I had been talking toa few here and there, but uh
yeah, this one just uh yeah, we just hit it off, man,

(01:00:55):
and you know, started dating andit went from there. You know,
when when were first talking, youknow, we had talked for a
couple of days, She's like,I think I know you in my great
we're gonna be related or something, you know, but no, it just
you know, she recognized me fromme coming there to marriage counseling, and
you know, we weren't gonna datebecause she could have been fired. I

(01:01:17):
guess they have something and their rulesare at work. You can't date someone
that senior system for you know, like two years or something like that.
So we just kept a secret. She actually had a coworker that grew up
the same time I did. Mysister used to babysit them. He actually
contacted my sister, thinking I wascheating on my wife. But but yeah,

(01:01:40):
it just went from there and herewe are, man backing on to
your first backing up to your firstmarriage. How how long what age were
you when he got married the firsttime? Eighteen? Wow? And was
that by like you thought you weredoing the right thing? Why did you
get married so young? She hadactually uh moved in with us. She

(01:02:05):
had her own issues with her dadand was living with us. You know,
got pregnant. You know, wewe told her dad and the first
thing out of his mouth was when'sthe wedding? You know, we had
never really talked about it or anything. So, you know, we thought
we were doing the right thing. You know, we were just young,
and you know it lasted about twelveyears somewhere around there. Wow. And

(01:02:31):
yeah, yeah we had four kidstogether. Wow. Usually you say when
someone's together twelve years, like you'veworked through the kinks. Right, I'm
gonna dig a little bit. Whatwas the What caused the relationship to end
a lot of not being faithful onher end. Oh hear, that's a

(01:02:57):
I could be a problem. Yeah, yeah, uh yeah, it got
pretty bad. And and so youfound out or caught her in the act.
People started slipping up, sending herlittle things here and there that I
was seeing, and we happened togo out one night with a bunch of

(01:03:20):
friends. She came clean to somebody. They started telling me the next day
and it just came out, andhow many chances did you give her?
I didn't want to leave at thetime because of my kids. I didn't
want to put them through that. But man, everything that started coming out,

(01:03:44):
it just it just wasn't worth it. So whenever it all came to
the surface, I left. Imoved in with my parents, which just
happened to be a street over, and that was that. So you get
you find out she comes clean, and then I guess what I'm trying to
ask is how many instances did youfind before you went that's it? Oh?

(01:04:10):
Man, I'm not sure really. There was a few instances where,
you know, somebody was sending hersomething on her phone, and you know,
she was all like, you know, it was for my sister in
law. You know, she's youknow, going through her stuff and she's
dating and want to know what Ithought. Blah blah blah blah, blah,
and I'm like, h I knewin the back of my mind she
was lying, but you know,I didn't have really any harc or proof

(01:04:33):
that she was actually doing anything, even though I thought she was. But
but yeah, like I said, the moment it actually came out to where
there was no de dying it.She started minting it. You know,
that was it. And you mentionedyou have kids together, Do you guys
have a good co parenting relationship? Now, No, not at all.

(01:04:56):
I actually ended up me and mycurrent wife actually ended up with a full
custody album. When let's see,I just had our youngest together, just
turned seventeen last week, and mycurrent wife and I have raised them since
she was three. When you reflecton that, like when you look back

(01:05:19):
at that first marriage, do yougo, how did like, who's this
person that exists? Now? What? How did I miss the signs?
Or do you like, how doyou self evaluate? I think a lot
of it at the beginning was justbecause I was young, Like there was
you know, just certain things, you know, the way that you know

(01:05:43):
she wanted to go and like hangout with these people or be with these
people or whatever. She started doingthat again as we got older, and
I think maybe she tried to usethe excuses, you know, she was
young, didn't get to have achild, you know, those type of
things, and that's why she starteddoing what she was doing. And you

(01:06:06):
know, I just I think atthe time, like I said, back
when we were like eighteen or whatever, I just didn't really pay no attention.
I guess, you know, Ididn't really know. I thought,
you know, she was just goingand hanging out with friends. And maybe
she was, you know, maybeshe was doing things back then too,
who knows, But you know,I just I don't know. Again,

(01:06:30):
that's a tough thing to happen. It's a tough thing to talk about.
So I'm reading, I hear you. You're like, I don't want to
talk about some more. So Iget it. It's not an easy thing
to talk about. So I'm gladyou. Thanks for you know, sharing
that with us. It says hereyou work with special needs kids. How
did you get involved working with specialneeds kids? And tell me about what
you do. I actually started outworking on with adults. I loved it.

(01:06:56):
I did that for years. Itwas a lot of fun. Got
to be out in about, youknow, do different things. The job
opened up at a local head startin town where I live. It was
a lot closer to home and allowedme to be at home with my kids
and comes school was out, youknow, I was out, I was
off ter in the summer. Theyjust eventually decided this year to close that

(01:07:19):
location down and it really wasn't worthme to travel to where they were wanting
us to move. So I cameacross this job it's actually in jeans,
and applied and got on and I'vebeen here a few months now and I
love it. I get to workwith kids every day and get to help

(01:07:45):
them grow, and you know, some of them are nonverbal, you know,
get to help them, you know, learn how to communicate their needs
and their wants, and it's awesome. I love it. My experience with
special needs adults and special needs kidsis anytime you're around them, you see
human beings seeing life in such abetter way than you see it. They're
just their eyes are open in adifferent way. Is do you Is that

(01:08:10):
the way you feel or how doyou feel about adults and kids with special
needs? Oh? Yeah? Theythey I don't know how to put it
exactly. They operate different than wedo, you know, and I don't
mean that in a bad way.I mean in a good way as far
as you know, they don't seethings the way we do, you know

(01:08:30):
what I mean. They don't youknow, they don't care who you are,
what you look like, you know, anything, like you know what
I mean. Like they're just hereto have a good time and to to
hang out and have fun. Andthey you know, especially with adults,
like you know, a lot ofthem, they don't know a stranger.

(01:08:53):
You know, they're friendly to everybody, you know, and a lot of
adults are not like that, youknow what I mean, Like they're not
friendly to everyone that they meet,or you know, I think we could
learn a lot everybody was more likeyou know, a lot of these adults
are these kids because they're just they'rethey're awesome. I mean, yeah,

(01:09:18):
they they are inspiring people when youmeet them, and like you said,
they're they're nobody's a stranger to themand they just see like in a beautiful
way or the day in a beautifulway, and and uh it's inspiring for
sure, right. Uh, itsays here, we're gonna switch to something
else. This is really traumatic. So it says to ask about the time

(01:09:40):
your son watched his friend's mom killher kids right in front of him.
That is an impossible thing to comprehendfrom my side, Yeah, that was
a that was pretty traumatic. How'dyou find out? How did you find
out? My son called me assoon as it happened. I was asleep,

(01:10:06):
half asleep. Phone rang early thatmorning. Uh oh, no,
number. I didn't know it.I almost didn't answer it. Something just
told me, you know, pickedthe phone up, and when I did,
you know, the first thing Ihear is my son on the other
end. I could tell something waswrong, and he excuse me. He

(01:10:27):
said, Dad, you need toget out here now. You know,
my friend's mom just shot my friendin the head. And I was just
like, what did you just say? And I told him to get out
of the house and to run.He assured me that she was gone.
She had completely left. She hadgotten her vehicle and took off. So

(01:10:50):
I told him I'd be right there. I hung the phone. My wife
could hear, you know, tellme to be careful. It was cold.
It was the first November. Ijumped up, threw on the shirt,
grabbed my keys, and I flewout of the house. I hauled

(01:11:12):
up there I actually hit a raccoonon the way there. I ended up
doing like five grand of damage tomy brand new car. I get there
and it's just him and the daughterthat survived outside. I jump out.
Nobody else is there, you know. The first thing I asked him was,

(01:11:33):
you know, if he was okay. You know, I'm hugging him.
I asked him where his friend wasat, and he's like, Dad,
he's he's gone. He's dead.And I just couldn't believe it,
you know. I asked about theother sister, and he's like, she's
she's making some noises, that's it. The younger sister that survived was there.

(01:11:56):
She was bleeding a little, youknow. I asked her she was
okay, she was just couldn't talk. And then Grandpa had came back.
He had been there and left.He had uh went to go flag down
and wasn't the police and there cameon to the police and locked everything down,
you know, and then Dad arrived, and then they ended up taking

(01:12:20):
my son to the police department. You know, they took his clothes and
everything, you know, checking him, blah blah blah. They let me
set with him in the car whilethey questioned him because he had just turned
eighteen. Yeah, daughter had dialednine one one but was unable to talk,

(01:12:41):
so my phone, my son tookover the phone call. They got
mom on their way out there, and yeah, that was a crazy morning.
I'll never forget it ever. Youknow, my my son just happened

(01:13:02):
to wake up to the mom inthe bedroom already had the weapon, pointed
that her son spoke to my son, told him she was sorry or something
along those lines, and then pulledthe trigger. She came around to my
son's side of the bed to goout the door. Uh, my son

(01:13:25):
thought he was next, he thought, you know, he told me Dad,
I thought I was gone. Ididn't know what to do. And
she happened to run out the roomand he shut the door behind her and
stood to the side to hold itshut, and she shot over his head,
I guess, just to scar himand make him stand there, and
you know, the other shots wentoff and he heard her leave, and

(01:13:46):
when he came out, you know, the daughter was there with the gun,
telling me, you know, hey, help mom shot us. You
know, my son took the gun, went and hit it, and that's
when they, you know, calledthe police and called me, and yeah,
and how old did you say hewas? He had just turned eighteen.
And how long did it would havenormally taken you to get to this

(01:14:10):
house? It's probably, I'm gonnasay, you know, driving normal from
Beds. It's a small town calledNew York. I don't know if you
know where it's at. Maybe twentyminutes maybe, And I was there nothing

(01:14:33):
flat, Like I mean, Ihad that car pegged as fast as it
would go. And when I camearound, I seen that raccoon. I
didn't even hit the brakes. Ithad been raining and I just hit it
head on. And like I said, it tore my car up. When
I went to leave, my carwouldn't start. Did you yourself know this

(01:14:56):
family? Yes? I had actuallywent to school and grab waited with the
mom. Yeah and so and so? How how did they how long until
they found her? For the forthe record, Nihonka's fifty minutes from bags
right. They soon as my sonhad made the phone call, The police

(01:15:18):
got her on her way there. On their way there, so they had
her in custom be where they everarrived on scene. And what happened to
her? She just now this yeargot sentenced. She got two life sentences

(01:15:39):
plus twenty years for attempt. Wow, and that was that? What was
the motive? Do do they know? Don't quote me on this, but
from my understanding, it is onthe record. You can go find it
public information where she had went tocourt and had said, you know,
give me full custody. My kidsare not going to pay the price.

(01:16:00):
I guess everybody thought, you know, she meant the dad. Her biggest
thing is that dad was doing thingsto him, was abusive things like that,
which wasn't true. She had herown issues, but come to find
out, I'm pretty sure she thedad, I'm sorry, was awarded a

(01:16:20):
full custody the day before this allhappened. So wow. Yeah. And
and how so how many years agowas this? It happened in twenty eighteen,
so six years yeah, six years. Yeah. And so how is

(01:16:41):
your son today? How has itaffected him? It was rough at the
beginning. He didn't trust nobody, didn't want to go anywhere, you know,
slept the light on. Yeah,it was that. He didn't want
to go talk to nobody, didn'twant counseling. He worked through it himself.
You know, I can help himwith the loss of his friend.

(01:17:04):
I lost a friend of suicide atnineteen. But I didn't know how to
help him really with everything that hehad witnessed. But he's doing great now.
He's got a good job, he'sbuilding a Mustang, he just bought
a Harley. He's he's doing good. You would never know that he'd went

(01:17:27):
through anything if he didn't know.Say, it was rough for a while,
and we had news station after newsstation, you know, a call
putting this up on Facebook. Youknow, we had to block them.
They they're coming to our house. They were coming to you know, we
had a restaurant at the time. They were coming there. They followed us
in a plane car out to whereit all happened. Like it was.

(01:17:49):
It was bad. I mean hehad private investigator saw on him for years,
you know. I mean it wasa big mess. Man, it
was horrible. I started receiving emailsand phone calls and everything on his behalf
so he wouldn't have to deal withit. But yeah, like I said,
he's he's doing really good now.Dude, that's insane. I can't

(01:18:13):
even imagine how hard that is forhim. I'm sure it's really hard for
you to even talk about it again. And I I still kind of blame
myself, you know, for fellinghim like a protector. You know,
he was going through his own thingsat school and things like that. Not
that he was a back kid,he just you know, wasn't making good
grades and doing what he was supposedto do. And you know, we

(01:18:34):
had had an arrangement for him todo stuff at night and get his ged
and you know, get a job, and he just wasn't doing it.
So, you know, I wasa little bit of tough love, you
know, like, Okay, youknow, you want to be an adult
and not do what you're supposed todo, then you know, don't come
home. That's how he ended upout there, and you know, then
all this happened, and you knowI felt horrible, me and my wife
both, you know. Yeah.Yeah, And for it to take this

(01:18:57):
long to come to a conclusion hasto be extremely frustrating too. Yes,
they you know, tribal I gotinvolved in the whole world. Yeah,
crazy, dude, that's that's alot, man. Yeah, How did
how did you manage all that?Just being there for them, you know,

(01:19:23):
and and talking with them, andyou know, trying to keep everybody
out of our business, you know, and you know, we had family,
you know that helped us. Youknow they're seeing news, you know,
van or something around. You know, run them off. You know
I'd run them off, and wejust made it through it right on.

(01:19:45):
Man, Well listen, uh,Jeff, I appreciate you sharing the story
with us. I'm I'm in aweof your work with kids with special needs
and adults of special needs. Thatis not a lot of people do that,
and a lot of people should becausethese are good people that need help.
So I'm I'm inspired by you onthat. And congratulations on twelve years
married to your lady, and thanksagain for taking the time. Yeah,

(01:20:11):
thank you. I appreciate it.All right, buddy, we'll talk to
you later. That's Jeff. Ourlisteners are awesome. Have a great day,
Jeff. We're gonna take a breakand we'll be back. Telsa's Morning
Show, The Big Man Boarding Show. The Assault continues next thirty seventy five.

(01:20:36):
Good morning, It's the Big MadMorning shown four six oh K M
O D Can I also text bmmsand then what you want to say to
eight two nine four five. Apparentlypeople are saying that NASCAR rigged the race

(01:20:57):
at the brickyard four hundred this weekend. Oh yeah, I didn't watch it.
I just caught highlights this morning.Birthday. I don't think it was
Kyle Larson's birthday. That'd be acool gift, though, I guess right.
Apparently went into overtime and so itwas between Larson and Blaney and Kazlowski,

(01:21:19):
and Kazlowski ran out of gas andthen they did a caution, so
Larson went from third to first, and then they did the restart, and
then Larson took off, and Blaneywas pissed, apparently yelling into his radio.
Reports online of people saying that hejust said that NASCAR gave Larson the

(01:21:40):
race, which is I think afair I mean people say that, you
know that have played the Chiefs andsaid when you know when the Chiefs won
there, like they gave the Chiefsthe victory, right right right, stupid
riffs. I'm not clear on thereason for the restart or like when you
run out of gas do they runso I don't I don't know how that
how that works, but I wouldthink if they were bending the rules it

(01:22:06):
would be a little more evident.I mean, is it really that difficult
to come up from seventh place.I would say yes. I mean,
depending on some factors, Yeah right, I mean Larson's a good driver,
but so's Blainey and Kazlowski, andthey were all good drivers, they wouldn't

(01:22:27):
be there. But I think thepoint is is that when Kazlowski ran out
of gas and Larson was in thirdplace, and then they restart them and
Larson's ahead of him. Now they'retogether racing, so he Larson's gap just
got short and dramatically to make iteven that that does not seem fair.

(01:22:47):
But I don't care about it.But what I do care about is the
Chiefs. And some of the stuffhappening at camps looks awesome them. Oh
yeah, yes, what's going onin camp that looks so? I mean
just some of the passes in theplays playing out, okay, fair enough?

(01:23:10):
Just getting ready? Yeah yeah, yeah. When's your first preseason game
of the twentieth August twentieth, Ithink it is, okay, yeah,
August sixteen, seventeen, something likethat. Yeah, it's preseason. But
this football, Oh, I don'tdo you see that the Kelsey brothers are
getting their own cereal. I couldcare less. Wown't care less or don't

(01:23:31):
care, don't give an f.It's not it's they're not making a serious
right. They're combining their favorites tomake one cereal two different types. Yeah,
combining two like each other. There'stwo boxes. One has three the
other one has three types of cerealsmixed together. I didn't know that that
was a thing. I don't knowthat was the thing either. I don't.
I don't mix cereals together. I'venever heard of it. Yeah,

(01:23:53):
I'm I might add like, I'lladd like bananas to my cereal. That's
not cereal though, but right, but they are doing cheer honey nut cheerios
with Reese's Puffs Mixese's Puff cereal istrash though. I don't like it either,
But I could see that. Iagree, I could see that mixed
though. Okay, right, justtwo, it's just two of them.

(01:24:15):
This one is going to be theKelsey mix is Reese's Puffs with cinnamon,
toast crunch and lucky charms. Saythat again, Reese's Puffs cinnamon, toast
crunch and lucky charms. Mm,sound like, so you got marshmallows and

(01:24:44):
cinnamon and peanut butter and chocolate. That's not that crazy. It's almost like
a s'more. Yeah, yeah,but it's just it's just not wry.
No, it's not not good.I think Lucky Charms is hot trash too,
That's just me. The marshmallows tastestale. You know. They don't

(01:25:04):
taste like marshall. They don't tastelike marshmallows mars at all. You know,
I don't even know what they callthem, what they are. It
just doesn't taste right. I mean, they taste the same as the marshmallows
from Small Cereal. Yeah, butI think because you're getting gram with that
and chocolate, it overpowers the stalemarshmallow that you're getting. All the things

(01:25:27):
we're saying may be true, here'sthe reality. These two beasts have enough
pool to convince a cereal company tomix cereals together. They cost all it
is is packaging. It costs themnothing, and they're gonna get paid a
check. So regardless what we thinkabout the concoction, it's genius. Unless

(01:25:51):
it doesn't sound, doesn't matter. They still get paid, right, it's
their brand. It's still it doesn'tmatter. You're missing the point. They
have that much pool. I've neverheard of this happening. No an athlete
having athlete or athletes having enough poolto make them come. Now there were

(01:26:15):
shackos. Oh yeah, yeah, right, but that was they created a
whole new cereal that wasn't good. No, this is brilliant because they're not
creating a cereal. You're not readingit going I'm shackos. I don't even
know what that is. You're going, well, I like Reese's Puffs or
I like Lucky Charms. Oh man, it's brilliant. It's brilliant. I

(01:26:41):
think there's another version too. Ithink they have two different boxes. This
is probably something that they used todo as kids, and then they're like,
oh, it came from their podcast. They were talking about the top
five cereals. Mister T had hisown serials. Oh yeah, Bill and
Ted had their own cereal. Imean I think that was a movie marketing
thing because I think Shrek had hisown cereal, right right, right,

(01:27:02):
right, right right. I thinkyou could write that off as more of
a movie marketing connection. But forthem to it's it's brilliant. There's no
people are going to be into itjust because it's them. And then when
you find out that they they don'thave to make a new cereal. It's
just a packaging issue for the company. It's an easy decision, it's an

(01:27:25):
easy payday. I want to knowhow much they got right. That is,
it's brilliant brand marketing on both sides. They're easily one of the hottest
podcasts out there. Oh yeah, they got stardom for a reason. I
really can't figure out right right right? Their podcast is compelling, sure,

(01:27:46):
And we should also point that podcastwas trending way before Taylor Swift got in
the picture. Oh yeah, baby, I've got an idea for a cereal.
What's that trap? We're going tomix the two? Oh? You
just go have fun? Oh no, I bet it was more of like
she's what are you doing? I'mmixing cereal? And she's like that's so
gross, And he's like, youdon't know, try it. You just

(01:28:10):
write songs, right, all right, We got to take a break.
We'll be back. The Big MadMorning Show returns next Tulsa's Morning Show ninety

There we go. Yes, Ididn't see the light switch a second.

(01:33:05):
Sorry, And he's here to answerany question you have about divorce,
custody, guardianship, name change, anything like that. We're going to start
with somebody who has a question thatthey're not sure if this is in our
spectrum, but I know you'll guidethe correct way if it's not. It
says, are there any laws regardingminers having sex? My daughter was sixteen
and the boy was seventeen, sothat you know the age of consent in

(01:33:27):
Oklahoma is six, you know, sixteen. But at the same time,
too, you're kind of getting thesegray areas in between sixteen and seventeen and
is the you know, definitely ifif the boy had been over eighteen or
eighteen or over, then you're lookingat potential statutory rape charges and things of
that nature. Kind of like what'sgoing on in the NBA with that draft

(01:33:48):
from Duke who supposedly the fiance is. I guess she's twenty No, this
is a crazy story. Yeah, this is crazy story. So she's like
twenty seven. She was twenty seven, and she's like seven years older than
him. She was basically scouting forhim for you know, being a gold
digger that she is at age,you know, when he was like fifteen

(01:34:10):
or something. I mean, sheused to babysit the guy, and she's
been brainwashing him. Well, okay, so let's talk about this all right.
We're getting a little off off top, getting a little off topic.
And the only reason I'm throwing thisin is because I'm of that faith,
so that that's kind of I don'tmean it from a faith standpoint, Okay,
Okay, I don't if you're goingto go that way, no,
no no, no, no nono no, I don't So for those
are no, but yeah, Imean she she's been trying to pull him

(01:34:30):
away from his family and he's completeties and stuff. Yes, you know,
she's You can definitely tell that thischick had planned, yes, you
know. And it's like she knewthat this kid was going to be a
great NBA player and that he wasgonna go. I mean, if it
hadn't been for her, he wouldhave gone in the first round rather than,
in my opinion, rather than thesecond round. He ended up going
to Utah. But you know,Utah Jazz, they're a good team.

(01:34:54):
They've had some great players come outof there. But at the same time
too, Yeah, absolute brainwashing hisstuff. But to back this a little
bit, she didn't. I justwant to clean that up. She happens
to be of a certain faith, but she has made him ostracize his family,
yeah right, like I know, and controls every move he makes.
It isn't a faith thing. Thisperson has some screws a little loose.

(01:35:14):
Yeah, I completely agree. Andit's interesting. You know. The last
thing, at least the last thingI read, was is that they interviewed
this guy's mom and he's and shesaid, well, there'll be more forthcoming,
whatever the hell that meant. Idon't want a statement that we're not
making a star. I mean,as I say, right, and you
know, yeah, So but totie this back, and we were talking
about she was scouting him like theNBA scouts were scouting him. She was

(01:35:41):
scouting him when he was like fifteen. So if they'd had sex when he
was fifteen and she was twenty fivethen or twenty four whatever, that would
have been a case of statutory rape. So this is not uncommon. This
actually happens in MMA gems a lotwhere people will be training younger fighters men
to women and then when they turneighteen they start dating, right and there
are some questions waited till they're eighteen. And that's the problem he we know

(01:36:03):
of right right, Whereas here,at least from what I've read, And
again I don't know everything. Ijust I just know it's on the internet,
right so in our news media. But you know they they were dating
before he turned eighteen. It's kindof what I've read, So you know,
if that's the case. And againyou're looking at those potential dangerous areas.
I mean, when in doubt,don't I mean, that's what I

(01:36:24):
was always taught by my dad growingup, right, is when in doubt,
don't you know, if you haveany questions of west whether or not
you're unsure that somebody is old enoughto have sex with you, don't.
But if you eighteen, don't.But if you suspect your daughter that is
engaged in something like that, youalert the authorities if you think a crime
has been committed, right, Yeah, I mean, and that's what happens

(01:36:45):
is you know what happens is isthat the moms and the dads of these
girls find out what's going on,and they're the ones that call the authorities,
and next thing we know, we'vegot a statutory rape cards coming down
the pipeline. So yeah, Imean, that's typically what happens, absolutely
because you get a lot of fathersthat are like, I'm going to get
you on statutory rape. That isn'tjust a thing that you don't just get
to call and pull the trigger onthat, right, No, I mean
there has to be an investigator.I mean, it's just like any any
criminal case, okay, minus DUIsand speeding tickets, all right, there

(01:37:10):
has to be an investigation, allright. There has to be a detective
assigned to the case, and theyhave to do an investigation. They have
to interview witnesses, They've going tointerview the quote victim, They've got to
interview the quote perpetrator. And thenonce they've met all these people, they
take all the information to decide whetheror not there's enough to charge them,
and if there is or not, they send it up to the DA,
and then the DA has to decidedo I have enough here under the law?

(01:37:32):
Do I have enough evidence under thelaw to charge these people and move
forward on a case too. Soit goes through you know, this,
for lack of a better term, filtering process to see if there's even going
to be charges filed. So yeah, and it's not instantaneous. Okay,
let's let's make that very clear.Slow burn. It's a slow burn to
sometimes get charged with things. Imean, it could take up to four
or five six months sometimes. Andif you're native, okay, for all

(01:37:56):
our Native listeners out there, allthe people listening to this, please listen,
all the Native mayriors that are partof the tribes, You guys have
it worse because of mcgert, allright, not because you're Native, but
because of McGirt, all right. And what I mean by that is this,
when mcgert hit, all right, the Feds and your tribes were blindsided.
And what I mean by that isthis, they were completely and utterly

(01:38:19):
understaffed, hugely understaffed. Okay. They went from maybe prosecuting fifty cases a
year or one hundred cases a yearto now they're processing five, ten,
fifteen, twenty thousand cases a year. Okay. So what that means is
is that that system is all backedup. It is hugely backed up,

(01:38:40):
all right, because there's not enoughstaff. A friend of mine is a
good friend of mine, is thehead of the Creek Nation Legal Division.
Okay, he's the dead prosecutor. And I was talking to him not too
long ago, and he was tellingme he was trying to hire something like
sixty people, sixty attorneys to workfor the nation for that name, because

(01:39:00):
they're that backlogged. They just don'thave enough staff. So understand. And
again, because of McGirt, noone wants to prosecute or even attempt to
try and prosecute a Native American inyou know, under city or state laws
or whatever. And so they're allgetting kicked us to the federal government.
Right to be prosecuted in the NorthernDistrict of Oklahoma, Federal jurisdiction or into

(01:39:21):
a tribe. So just I bringthat up because again it's not instantaneous.
It takes time. You're not gonnawake up the next morning after the event
and go, oh, I'm charged. It doesn't it doesn't work that way.
It's not that fast. And Iwill tell you in Tulsa County when
I when I work there as anintern, okay, at the DA's office
in law school, they would bringin all the charges instead them on a
table in the library and the legallibrary upstairs on the ninth floor, and

(01:39:43):
the das would go in and gothrough those and start looking at them as
they had time. And it mayagain, it may take two, three,
four months to get charged, unlessit's something like rape, arson,
murder. You know what I'm gonnacall the big ones, Okay, not
that any are. One is notmore important than the other per se,
except to say that on those kindof cases they get first priority and then

(01:40:06):
they goes down from there. Andthis will be the last thing we bring
up on this with a right wouldit be would it be statutory rape?
If it was a if a girlwas eighteen and the boy was sixteen,
does play an issue? No genderdoes not play an issue to statutory rape.
I mean that doesn't play in atall. In fact, you want
a perfect example of this, lookabout all these females teachers that are being

(01:40:28):
prosecuted across the United States for havingsex with underage boys in school. Now.
A lot of the charges are coveredup in things like, for example,
well she had authority over him,all right, So there's those charges
been underlying underneath that is also astatutory rape charge because they're over the age
of eighteen and you're having sex withthe thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen,

(01:40:49):
seventeen year old kid and you shouldn'tbe doing that because even though they're
sixteen to seventeen, they're still kids. These are criminal law questions, Jeff
Bensley Association, you know, butwe're doing questions about family law. Here's
one for family law. If yougot one for Jeff, send it over
to us BMMS and whatever that isto eight two nine four five. You
can email it show at kmod dotcom, or you can call it nine

(01:41:10):
one eight four six, Oh KMOD. So my question is, does my
sister still need a I think thisthey mean probate, but it says probation
attorney if she is a beneficiary anda financial account and if so, do
you have any recommendations? We alsoneed one because our father has recently passed
and never signed his will, soall his assets have to go through the
state. At least that's what we'rebeing told. Any help on these two

(01:41:33):
topics would be appreciated, right,So if as far as recommendations, if
you'll call my office talk to medirectly, I can tell you who I'd
recommend. I don't want to dowith another radio it takes too long.
But as far as answering the otherportion, okay, So anybody that anybody
that dies, if they if theydie intestate and they don't have a will,
or if they have a will that'sunsigned or something like that, it's

(01:41:53):
all got to go through probrate,Okay. The only way around probate would
be to have things like a trustin place or whatnot. So you know,
if if you want more specifics onthis, please give Colin, our
attorney ap in PAHUSCA a call.He handles all of our probate issues.
But I will say, without awill, yes, that's true, it
does have to go through probate. All everything's got to go through probate in

(01:42:15):
as far as an executor, though, if there's one will be appointed by
the judge in that particular case whenit gets before the judge. So you
know, if there's not been oneassigned through a will or something like that,
then one will be appointed by thecourt. Because of the movies we
see when someone dies, like thenext day or the next week, you
get called into an attorney's office andthey go over the will. Is that
reality, you know? I I'veheard of that happening. I've never personally

(01:42:40):
seen that happening, even when Ihad my own relatives pass away. But
that doesn't mean it doesn't occur.So I think it is true. I
mean, obviously there's a grain oftruth in all myth right. So,
but it's a slow burn too.Probably it's a slow burn too. Oh,
it's a really slow burn. Absolutely. Let's just put it this way.
Guys in gals, everybody listening andlisten to me. Care there's a
reason we have this famous saying, all right, and it is the wheels

(01:43:03):
of justice turned slow. Okay, substitute the word justice for court. The
wheels of court system turn slow.Nothing is quick, nothing is fast.
I know we have this thing aboutspeedy trials and stuff like that in criminal
cases. I laugh at that, because again, it's all a process.
It all takes time, and unfortunatelythat's the only system we have here in

(01:43:24):
the US, and it's not muchbetter everseas. So it is what it
is. Well to go along withthat. This says we separated two months
after we got married. We bothare now involved in different relationships. We
don't want anything from each other, just to have our marriage ended. What
kind of divorce should we get. That's somebody who wants it fast, right,
right, and that one okay?So under the law, if they
truly or somebody who has they obviouslythey probably didn't garner or gather anything together

(01:43:47):
during the merge. There is nothere was no increase in the marriage if
they separated after two months, right, very little, if anything? All
right, we can get them divorcedwithin eleven days. And when I say
that is this, if they trulyare agreed on everything, and you cut
it whatever the way I want tocut it. We draft it up,
we file the petition, We waittill day eleven, they sign it.
Somewhere between day one and day eleven, we present it to the judge on

(01:44:08):
day eleven and judge they're done.Okay. There are cases that go that
fast, and I've had them gothat fast. Okay, but you have
to agree on every single little thingwithout an argument. Same thing when you've
got kids. Okay, we cando the same thing. We can do
it quickly if we truly agree onevery single little thing. And yes,
I've had cases do that, Butagain, these are the exceptions to the

(01:44:29):
rule. Most people want to fightand argue and spit and spew, especially
when it comes to kids, andespecially when it comes to big money stuff.
So you know, if you trulygrid everything, we can get it
done quickly simply because you're in agreement. There's nothing to argue about. And
if you turn around and sign thingsquickly, we can get it all done
quickly. But again these are theexceptions to the rule, and not the
rule themselves. But even quickly,if everything is how you described, it

(01:44:53):
still not happening tomorrow, not thenext day. No, I mean,
by law, all right, whenthere's no kids involved, the court has
to wait eleven day. That's justthe law. And it would take longer
to get a waiver than it isto just wait the ten to eleven days
and then get it inentited on dayeleven. What's the point of eleven days?
So it's supposed to be a quotecooling off period. The legislature came

(01:45:13):
up with this idea of there needsto be a cooling period off between when
you file for divorce and when thedivorce is granted. That's why there's a
ninety day cooling off period for peoplewith children. The idea is that you
know, people get pissed off andangry and I'm going to divorce you,
and blah blah blah blah blah, light switch thing. You just go right,
you know, That's how they lookat it. And again I have
said this all the time on thiswhen we do this segment for however many

(01:45:36):
years have been doing it, andI will say it again. If you
don't like the laws, contact yourlocal legislator, all right, contact somebody
that's in the House or the Senate, your local legislator for your district.
Tell them what you don't like.Because again, of all the legislators down
there, there's like two attorneys outof the several hundred people down there.
They don't listen to us. Theydon't care what we have to say.

(01:45:59):
So with that being said, ifyou want to change the laws, contact
to legislator. You know, acooling off period. You know, honestly,
I think and need to be personallyon these things that need to be
a little longer than it is.But at the same time too, I
understand why people want to get itdone too. I mean, there's it
can split both ways. I wouldthink you go through a trial separation and
that's what that that cooling off is, and you would think so, but
that's not what happened. I mean, the realism of it is, or

(01:46:23):
the reality of it is, isthat people will get pissed off from out
the door. I mean in oursociety nowadays, it's just I'm gone.
But trial separations aren't a court thing, no, I mean, that's something
the parties would have to do ontheir own. I mean there's I've had
people call me and they'll go,hey, can the judge require us to
go to marriage counseling? The answeris no. By the time it gets
to a judge, all the judgesjurisdiction to do is to require I mean,

(01:46:45):
there can be counseling if there's achild involved, because the child's having
trouble with, you know, thedivorce or whatever it's going on. But
the judge cannot order anybody to domarriage counseling if it's out of their their
jurisdiction. If a couple goes througha separation, let's say they've been separated
for six months, right, okay, and they've gone through three months of
marriage counseling and they've tried to makeit work, and they can document that,

(01:47:10):
show proof of marriage counseling or evenproof of a separate residence. Can
they take that to the court andsay, now we're we are decided to
dissolve the marriage. Can we dothis faster? No? Yeah, I
mean the judge. The judges don'tcare. I mean legally, there's no

(01:47:30):
statute for it. There's no caselaw that talks of that that says,
well, if you can prove youtried to make it work, you can
get this stuff done quicker because you'vespent now six months or nine months or
whatever it is. By the timeit gets to the court, the court's
it's it's I won't say. Idon't want to make our judges sound heartless,
because they're not, so I won'tsay that they don't care. That's
not the right wording to use.I think the right wording to be is

(01:47:53):
what to use would be they care, but there's not much. There's there's
nothing they can really do from alegal standpoint because that's out there. It's
out of their control at that point. Now, judges can grant waivers,
so you know, in a countywhere well it's ninety days right for when
you've got kids, you can alwaysask. If you sign an agreement on
day twelve and everybody's ready to go, you can ask for a waiver and

(01:48:15):
the judges can. Most small countieswill grant them. Tulsa County used to
have a firm, firm policy ofno waivers, but we've seen changes them
in the last year. So wecan always try and get waivers to get
it done quicker. Again, ifit's truly agreed to, when we get
it done quickly again, exceptions tothe rule, not the rule itself.
I think we've been misled with moviesagain too, Like think of Missus Doubtfire,
where they sit in the courtroom andthe judge berates him on how he

(01:48:40):
should be as a father and vice. That's just not the way that goes
Okay, So have I seen judgesbreak people? Yes, and missus doubtfire.
Great movie, love Robin Williams.Sorry, the man is gone.
He was brilliant. But in thatparticular case, okay, let's just let's

(01:49:00):
just analize that for a second. When in that particular case, all right,
in that movie, all right, what happened was is he did something
extraordinarily weird. Okay, he dressedup as a woman. Now, okay,
so let's before I before I havethe LG the case, before I
have the LGDDP, those people contactme. I'm just talking about the movie,
all right. I'm not making anyjudgment, calls or any I'm just

(01:49:23):
merely talking about the movie. Backthen, all right, a man dressing
up as a woman and pretending tobe a woman to be around his kids
was considered crazy, extreme extreme.Yeah, not so much nowadays with the
transcommunity. I mean, it's andI'm just I'm merely saying that. The
judges back then, again, we'relooking at the mid to late not eighties,
all right, You're looking at that, and the judges are going,

(01:49:44):
look, I understand you there aroundyour kid, but what you did was
nuts. You lied to her,you lied to the kids, you lied
to everybody. You were only supposedto have this kind of contact with him,
and you went behind everybody's I meanit was extreme. I think that's
a good word for it was.It was extreme. So the judges did
what he did because besides the factit was in the script. He did
what he did because it was consideredextreme back then. Right, he took

(01:50:06):
on a person's identity that was histo try and get close to his kids.
Right, but in the But yes, movies can mislead us on all
this kind of stuff, right, don't believe it because remember what's written in
the movies. It may be somebodythat is written for, you know,
who lives in California. Maybe that'sthe way it is in California, or
in New York City, or inAlabama, or in Miami or Canada or
Europe or whatever it may be.That's not necessarily the way it is in

(01:50:28):
your home state. So that's whyyou always want to contact people like us
to get those questions answered. Iwas shocked to find out I didn't even
need to go to court. No, I mean, if you, well,
you don't, I mean, okay, so let's talk about this a
little bit. Prior to the pandemic, all right, there had to be
at least one party go before ajudge to answer jurisdictional questions. And they're
only just goofy questions like were youa residus date of Okahoma? For has

(01:50:50):
to be on court record. Ithas to be on court record. Okay.
Once the pandemic hit, they startedletting us do these affidavits saying the
same thing. But it's an affidavidform, you sign off on it,
so we didn't have to go downthere. Nowadays we can still do the
affidavits. There are a few smallcounties that are required starting to require people
to show up again, but thevast majority are still doing affidavits. So

(01:51:12):
yeah, nowadays, if it's trulyall agreed to, you don't even have
to go to court. Jeff Finzi'shere if you have a question about divorce,
custody, guardianship, name, change, any of those things. He
can answer those questions for you rightnow. Nine one eight four six oh
kmod or you can text bmms andwhatever that question is to eight two nine
four five says does the divorce needto be final before you can go back
to your maiden name and will bewise to do so if he's still paying

(01:51:33):
some of the bills. So yes, it has to be final, because
when you go to change your name, you have to have a certified copy
of the decree to present to theSocial Security Office and to the UH Department
of Motor Safety or whatever it isto get your lice. So whatever you're
gonna whatever, you're gonna get yourname changed on, you have to have
a certified copy of the decree inyour hand to show them and prove to

(01:51:55):
you that you have the court's orderand requirement to change that name. So
yes, it has to be final. Lies before you can do that.
Now, one caveat all, right, just stepping to the side, is
that could we do a name changetechnically prior to the divorce by filing an
application change your name? Yes,but why we're doing a divorce. We

(01:52:16):
can change your name through the divorce. So just small little caveat, just
want to throw that in there.Could it be done? Yes, waste
of time because we're doing it throughthe divorce anyway, don't worry about it.
And as far as is it smartto change the name, you know
a lot of ladies like this toand I will say men too, because
I've had men that have taken thewomen's last name. Believe it or not,
they keep the name because it's thesame name as their kids, and

(01:52:40):
it forestalls or doesn't it leaves confusionat school, they say, and this
is what my clients have told me. Okay, so, but some people
are very adamantive. I hate thatbastard. I don't want to have his
name. He you know, hemakes my skin crawl just thinking about him.
I don't want to even begin tohave to sign his name. And
they want to change your name backto their maiden names. So here's a
there's a personal question. How longshould you keep a divorce decree? You

(01:53:04):
know, technically the divorce decree willalways be on file at the state or
no reason to have a real copy, well, I mean not really unless
you're going to unless you just wantto frame it or to you know,
throw it in the fire or whateverit may be. There's no real reason
to keep it other than to say, once everything in the decree has been
addressed. In other words, ifthere's things on there that you're to pay

(01:53:25):
off, if there's things on therethat you're to sign over, if there's
things on there that you're to door have happen. Once those are completed,
then I would say there's no reason, real reason to keep a copy
of it unless you just want to, because you can always go to the
courthouse and the county in which youlive and get a certified copy. Will
it cost you, Yeah, it'slike a buck for the first page and
fifty cents for every page thereafter orsomething. But you can always get a

(01:53:45):
copy later if you need it,or extra copies or whatever it may be.
So no, there's not not anyreal reason. Once you've completed everything
that's in there, as far asexchanging and giving and paying and all these
things that are listed on there, there's no real reason keep it. Not
really, you can always scan itinto your computer and keep it and throw
it away. In fact, youcan go on osc in these days and
download a copy of it. Soyeah, there's no real true reason.

(01:54:09):
In my opinion, I've never neededmy degree ever. I think most people
need it right after, especially ladiesto change their names. Yeah, or
to you know, take it anddeal with a debt or something like that.
But once that's done, there's noreal reason to keep it. Not
really Jess availble to answer any questionyou have about divorce, custody, guardianship,

(01:54:29):
name change. And I think it'sreally important that you utilize the free
consultation that he'll provide if you mentionedKMOD when you call his office because there's
so many misunderstandings or he said, she said that you need cleared up,
and Jeff and the folks at Hensleyand Associates can do that. Give him
a call at nine one eight threenine eight five six nine three nine eight

(01:54:53):
minute consultation over the phone. Andyou guys have other areas of the law
you can practice too, right likewe were talking about earlier with criminal and

Tulsa's rock station NINETYD. Good morning, It's the Big Mad Morning Show nine

(01:56:12):
when eight four six ohkmod. Youcan also text bmms and then what you
want to say to eight two, nine four or five. So I want
to tell you about Shantell Mooney.Shantell had a problem. She had brain
cancer, and so going back toFebruary, she was diagnosed with four B

(01:56:33):
terminal cervical cancer and they said itspread to her lungs and then three weeks
ago they found out she had atumor in her brain, and so they're
like, you got to have surgery, and so they pushed it to Friday
morning. They're like, you're havingsurgery Friday morning. She arrives at the

(01:56:56):
waiting room at ten am, readyfor her surgery. Alrighty. Then watching
the news, big news story happenedFriday morning. You remember what it is,
lindsay, which, well, No, Biden was Sunday. The airplanes,
the Delta airlines close close, GIMPIMicrosoft one now Microsoft CrowdStrike is what

(01:57:23):
it was called. CrowdStrike for someinsane reason, put on an update Thursday
night into a Friday morning. Soshe was saw the news about the crowd
strike. Ten o'clock happens, whichwas supposed to be her surgery eleven twelve.

(01:57:43):
She's got terminal cancer brain tumor, and they tell her, hey,
here's the thing. We rely onthe Microsoft technology for scans, emergency medication,
accessing medical records, and more sowe're gonna have to wait till this

(01:58:05):
issue is resolved. So how whatare you doing next Friday? Well,
I'm maybe dead. Maybe do Ihave until next Friday? Can you I
just can't. I'm not sleeping thenight before. I'm just being honest.
Yeah, but there's nothing she couldhave done to prevent that her one hundred

(01:58:30):
percent. It's a great tweet thatsaid my first week at Microsoft. I
hope it goes well. Uh yeah, but now she's got to go through
all of that again. Yeah, yeah, but no, Yeah, but
dude, this isn't like, hey, I've got to stand in line again.

(01:58:54):
This is your your death is Isee you? I find you?
Yep? You laugh at them andjust be like all right, damn,
I'll wait. I got an appointmenton Friday. I see you. Then
I had a thing. But Imean, what's the chances of her dying

(01:59:19):
between now and Friday? Damn?I mean, I imagine. I'm not
sure what her situation is except forwhat it said in the article, which
was her cognitive abilities have been declining, which led them into the search for
why and found out she had abrain tumor one two three weeks ago.

(01:59:44):
And we'll get to it in acouple weeks. I want to be like,
what are you doing Monday? Howabout Saturday? Right? Right right?
I'll come in on the weekend. And if you've ever seen somebody have
a brain tumor and how it affectsthem. It ain't awesome, And anybody

(02:00:05):
who gets cancer is not awesome. But like skin cancer is not the same
as somebody who gets a brain tomerr right? And do they already know
that it's operable? I mean I'mguessing because they're going in for surgery,
right, But that doesn't always meananything. Right. My dad had an

(02:00:26):
operable tumor on his pancreas and theywent in and they're like, can't get
to it. Yeah, and ifit's metastatic, then it's spread somewhere else.
Anyway, she's gonna die anyway.Yeah, no, forget it.
Why try? Come on, comeon, why try? Whether they are
going to go in there and dosome brains or whatever. Some people like

(02:00:47):
living GIMPI, and they like thepeople around them and want to be around
them as long as possible. I'msure cancer is gonna get you. Cancer
is going at you. The canceris gooling. It's gonna get her regardless.
That will be her cause of deathabsolutely, Now, it's just a

(02:01:10):
matter of how long and I getI don't blame her for trying. I
really don't feels like you're saying sheshould give up. I'm not saying give
up. It's just a couple ofdays. Come on, it's seven,
not anymore, we're down to five. I'm just saying, do we know
if she's alive right now, ifshe made it through the weekend, she
should be good until Friday. Youever had a nagging injury and it gets

(02:01:35):
worse until that? Actually, yeah, I can only imagine. And we
suffer way more in our head thanwe do in our body, so like
I'm sure mentally it's more, andfor those around her who don't have cancer.
Right Sometimes that stuff is for theother people as well, her loved

(02:01:59):
one on loved once. Living forthem for them, not for yourself to
make everybody else happy. Some wouldargue living for them is living for yourself.
It's just a couple of days.Listen, be fine, it'd be
fine. I would definitely call Thursday, the night before, just to make
sure we're all up and good togo. Hey, got a little thing

(02:02:21):
going on tomorrow. We good thistime. I would think if she did
that the previous week, they werethe same, The answer would be the
same. True. I mean, you don't know what's gonna happen in the
world of technology, you know,so it could they could have another you
know, outage, have a backup. Wouldn't that suck? Wouldn't that suck?
It's like, all right, yougotta wait till Friday. Next Friday,

(02:02:43):
man, all right, that sucks, I mean terminal, all right,
fine, and you take talk tiktalk, wait and wait and wait,
and you know they got the outagefixed, and then you know we're
gonna have to reschedule you again. You had another hour, right, all
those surgeries arm right, and gettingscheduled for surgery anything like that's always a

(02:03:08):
giant pain in the arse. Anyway. Yeah, I'm surprised they had the
next Friday open. Why didn't youjust work on Saturday? Right, Well,
we don't perform surgeries on Saturday. Why not do at the moment that
everything is restored, That's what I'msaying. Like, you're right, you
don't normally work on Saturdays. Younormally work on Fridays, which you cannot,
right, So hey, hey, listen, I know it's late.

(02:03:30):
I know it's like two thirty inthe morning, but they just got everything
up and running again. You wantto do your surgery. Maybe they had
already opened the utensils, right, and you've already been fasting, right Yeah.
So they're like, ah, don'tgo home and eat anything. Oh
oh, and you had to waitfrom ten till one, right right,

(02:03:50):
grumpy, I'd be so angry.Oh yeah, you need a snigger.
Truth all right, we got totake a break. We'll be back listening
