Speaker 2 (00:38):
Hi Jay, It's been a long time since I slept
through an appointment that I did last week, and I
apologize to all the listeners.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
Yeah they were devastated and I've spent the week consoling them.
I wasn't here, so you know, for me, it was
no no skin off my back. I'm just glad your
year and feeling well. That's all that I care about.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
Yeah, yeah, much better. I'm I'm a full participant this week.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
Very good. Orlando Brown was not, but he was a participant.
Is he going to play on Sunday night?

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Yeah, I mean, we'll find out more tomorrow. I think
it's it's good to see that he's back at practice,
just like Tea, just the fact that they're back out
there and at least going, I don't want to say
going through the motions, but getting work in. Because if
the plan was to not play those guys and let
them have another week off and then the bye week,

(01:29):
I don't think he would see them practice. So I
think the intention is for them to play. But anytime
you have injuries like that, you just you need to
see how they get through the week. We've seen this
before where you know, re injury can can crap up
and it both those guys could be game time decisions
and go out and go through a hard work out
on the field before the game and see where things stand.

(01:50):
But I think the air is definitely up on Tea,
and I think I'm fairly optimistic that Orlando will be
after Sunday night as well.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
If Orlando plays and he's healthy and he's and he's
playing left tackle, can the leash for the interior offensive
lineman be a little bit shorter? And maybe entertained using
Cody Ford in one of those spots because that position
group really struggled against Baltimore.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Yeah, I mean they did. But they talk all the
time about the the camaraderie and the chemistry and just
the communication. And I don't know, and especially with Cody
playing pretty much nothing butt tackle for the last few weeks,
I don't know. Unless you see an injury or a
guy just totally getting whipped over and over and over again,

(02:36):
I don't know that that's the direction they would go.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
One of the questions that many of us had after
the Baltimore game, lou An Rumo was asked it about
taking Mike Hilton off the field in certain situations third
down and close to the goal line against the Ravens.
Did his responses to those questions make sense to you.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Somewhat? He said it was matchup base. We just to
Mike Hilton, and Mike said that he asked Lou the
same questions that we asked Lou, and we asked what
Lou told him, and he said the same thing. If
they were matchup driven and he wants to be out there,
he hasn't closed the window on that. He thinks it's
still a possibility. It doesn't sound like it's in the

(03:18):
plan for Sunday unless they're keeping it under wraps. But
I did I wonder too, because I don't know if
it is a matchup. Mike's getting up there, he's thirty two,
and is this is this kind of a load management thing?
And I asked him how he feels coming off the
field off there down? Does he feel fresher and stronger?
He said, yeah, absolutely, that has been the positive side

(03:38):
of this, but he still wants to be out there
on third down.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
Uh what do you make of what didn't didn't happen
with Xavin Howard?

Speaker 2 (03:47):
Yeah, I don't know's it's really odd. It's why bring
a guy in unless you're kind of close on what
the what the deal's going to look like? What raw
sure you're going to put him on, whether it's the
practice squad or the fifty three. Just it makes no
sense to bring a guy in and have him get
through that whole workout and then either go low on

(04:08):
the offer or basically insult them and say we're going
to put you on the practice squad. I just I
don't understand why that's not hashed out ahead of time
before a guy comes in. But I have not talked
to anybody within the team to see exactly what happens,
but it is what happened. But it does sound as
though that was the problem. There was a disconnect on

(04:30):
what they wanted from him. He had a good workout,
but they I don't know. I don't even know why
bring him in at this point. They've known since the
draft they needed the veteran corner. Why now do they say, Okay,
let's let's go grab a guy off the couch.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
Yeah. How disappointing? In your opinion? Has Cam Taylor brippen
this season very.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
And it's so puzzling because it's not as though we
haven't seen him do it. We haven't. We've seen him
play at a high level. It felt like he was
going to be v breakout guy on this team this year,
not just athletically and performance on the field, but as
a personality. He's got that great personality and they were
they were gonna mike him up and they were kind
of make him a face of the defense. And that's

(05:14):
that's how you get to Pro Bowls. Yeah, you got
to play well on the field, but you need to
get that national recognition. You need to get that popularity
aspect of it going to and I just I don't
know what's happened, and really everyone else is puzzled by
it too. That was another thing. We just asked Mike Hilton, like,
what do you think is going on with him? And
he said, he's just a young guy in a slump.
We all go through it and you just got to

(05:35):
figure out a way to get out of it. I
don't know, it's been. It's been a long slump. Sometimes
slumps are a game or two. This one's been a
season long one. And it was almost like that that
great interception in Kansas City kind of made him want
more of those type of plays. And when you're looking
for interceptions as opposed to just handling the assignments, sometimes

(05:57):
your eyes can get bad. You start breaking on balls
you shouldn't break off on. And we've seen that. He's
just gotten beat over and over and over again.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Yeah. Uh, it's it's been. It's been frustrating for us
and I'm sure for him as well. Jay, awesome stuff
as always, man, Thank you, all right, Thanks mov hey,
