Speaker 1 (00:00):
Tony. We had an eventful day at Bengals training camp yesterday.
Trey Hendricks had made his return. He did not practice,
but he was there and he was interacting with his teammates.
We also had a very good day for the defense.
You and I were there watching it. Let's start by
talking about the performance of the secondary in red zone drills.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Yeah, an interception from Josh Newton, who has had a
loud camp in a good way. Cam Taylor Brett had
a nice pass breakup. We were at a front row
seat to watch Jordan Battle make a great play in
the back of the end zone against Jamar Chase on
a one on one opportunity that Joe Burrow put the
ball up there for now. Again, the offense bounced back.
They completed some passes. But in seven on seven, with

(00:38):
this offensive skill set, the offense should win. In my opinion,
you don't have a pass rush. Joe Burrow's allowed to
go through progressions, his feet are able to be calm.
I would expect the offense to win much more than
the defense in seven on seven and today I thought
the defense more than held its own, or yesterday the
defense more than held its own in those seven on
seven opportunities, and I thought gave the offen and pits.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
Now let's talk about upfront, because there's two ways of
looking at this, and we could do both. We could
talk about the success the Bengals defensive line had yesterday
winning at the point of attack, but what a very
good day for Cincinnati's offensive line.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
Yeah, I think you can ask both. I think you
can ask for the same intensity and speed and aggressiveness
from the Bengals defense, and you can also ask for
more from the Bengals offense, especially that offensive line. If
this offense is going to fulfill what they need to
fulfill and be one of the best or the best
offense in the NFL, you can't do that if you're
constantly under pressure. What Joe Burrow did last year is

(01:37):
not normal. What Joe Burrow did last year, I don't
know how repeatable it is. If you're asking a quarterback
to take and sustain the hits that he did and
the movement he did while putting up the numbers that
he was able to do. For this offense, you just
have to figure out what you're going to be upfront.
And I know you got a new scheme and a
new coach up front. I know you're rotating new guys

(01:59):
in and still early in training camp. There better be
some sort of plan in place as training camp rolls
along if it doesn't get better.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
Bengals are back in the practice field this morning at
ten o'clock. Tony has it covered for you on the
A Door and Window Tony and Moe Training Camp Show
on ESPN fifteen thirty and don't forget One week from tonight,
Bengals opening up the preseason with a road game against
the Eagles in Philadelphia with Tony Pike a Moegger
