It's really smart, right, Like he's off on Fridays because
of the pep Rally show. So you take one day
off and you get a four day weekend. It's pretty
you know, we've talked about this before. Moe is the
master of working the schedule of effectively using vacation days

in the most you know, in the most beneficial ways
possible for the employee, Like he could he could teach
a college class on how to schedule vacations.

I think the Bengals being bad.

I do with that too, probably, Yeah, the Bengals are good,
like you want to be in here. Although the Bengals
definitely fit most criteria, right, be good or be interesting.
They're definitely interesting. They're not good, but there might not
be a more interesting team in the NFL, Like there
is no three to seven team in the NFL getting

talked about in the national spotlight as much as the
Cincinnati Bengals. Turn on your TV, they're talking something about
the Bengals potentially having the worst defense in the history
of the NFL. Joe Burrow coming back, Joe Flacco having

(02:40):
a one month stretch where he looked like the best
quarterback in the NFL. Like there's always something fun to
talk about. Today. That's Joe Burrow again out at practice
and it would appear preparing to play on Sunday. Now

(03:03):
some of that, of course, obviously Joe Flacco is limited,
so there's there's snaps there to be taken for Joe Burrow,
but it appears all systems are go on potentially seeing

(03:27):
Joe Burrow Sunday. I am not I'm not sold on
that yet. I am mainly not sold on that yet
because I've conceded the fact that Joe Burrow wants to play,
He's gonna play at some point in time this season.
Joe Burrow will be back. I don't love the fact

(03:49):
that you're putting him potentially in a situation where if
he comes back this Sunday, he's playing one of the
best teams in the NFL. In the New England Patriots
do a phenomenal job stopping the run, which means Cincinnati
is probably gonna be in a situation where they're gonna
throw the ball a lot if they want to be

(04:09):
effective and move the football, and then following that up
with a Thursday night Thanksgiving game against the Baltimore Ravens.
I don't love that. I don't love it, but it
does appear we are heading towards that happening. The question
becomes with the Cincinnati Bengals, a similar question that we'll

get to here in a second. With the Cincinnati Reds,
is there an adult in the room? Is there somebody
in the room capable of looking your star player, your
franchise player in the eye and saying, it's our team.
We want you back. But we don't think that this
is the best way to go about it. We think

it needs to be done this way. Now, maybe nobody
in the front office thinks that maybe that's a sports
talk radio thing, a social media thing, a fan thing
that look at this and say, is it really the
best idea when you're looking Sunday Thursday, to throw Joe

(05:19):
Burrow back out there after six weeks off, after two, three,
eleven on eleven practices, to throw him back out there
and just expect things to pick up where they left off.
I don't I don't necessarily think that's fair to Joe Burrow.

But if you're Joe Burrow, you're a football player, you
want to play football, you want to be out there
with your teammates. It's something I'm sure that eats at
you every week, especially these the way things have gone
since Joe Burrow got hurt, you can guarantee he's been
watching these games and going If I was out there,

it would have been different.

Now.

He doesn't play linebacker, doesn't play defensive back, so probably not,
but you know that's his mindset, so he's gonna want
to get out there. Do the Bengals think the best
thing for the long term sustainability of Joe Burrow is

to put him back out there Sunday and then running
back out there Thursday again. Or maybe they have a
plan and we just don't know about it yet. Given
past history, I find that a little bit hard to believe,

but I guess we'll find out as the week continues. Also,
you're gonna put him out there Sunday with no Jamar
Chase his number one security blanket. The best wide receiver
in the NFL. Calm down, tarrn Easy, easy, Tarn thinks

his team's got the best wide receiver in the NFL.
I mean, we do. We just don't have a quarterback.
I mean, but you don't. Jamar is the best wide
receiver in the NFL. Debating this service, you used to
have the best wide receiver in the NFL. His name
was Randy Moss. I'll give you that, But it just

looks like things the way that they align, it doesn't
seem like it would be the prudent decision to throw
Joe Burrow back out there on Sunday and then bring
him back on Thursday against the Ravens. Why not give
him a little more time. Why not give him the
ability to get through this week, then he's not If

(07:59):
he does make his return Thursday night, then he's not
on a short week. Then he's had time to fully
prepare for the Ravens without having to handle recovering from
a game against the Patriots. That seems logical to me.

(08:24):
But I know if Joe Burrow feels ready to play,
feels like he can can be at one hundred percent
or as close a proximity as he's going to get
to one hundred percent, he's going to want to be
out there. I don't blame him for that. I just

want to notice the front office think that's the best move.
I want to know that the people in that building
think our most effective strategy is to get Joe Burrow
back basically three four days after returning to full participant

in practice on a team that's three and seven. And
I mean, unless they bring in the eighty five Bears,
and I think the Taran I think the eighty five
Bears right now might be a better tackling defense than
this Bengals defense. What would those guys be sixty mid sixties,

(09:31):
now some seventies. Yeah, I think those guys could be
better defensively than this Bengals team tackling. The athleticism might
not be there, but they certainly wouldn't be be standing
there looking like a mime in New York City swinging
their arms as somebody puts their foot in the ground

and leaves them wondering why they're grasping it air. So
we'll get to that. That's the Bengals stuff, the red stuff.
Nick Kral spoke on last night on the Hot Stove League.
Nick Krawl did the one thing last night that generally

puts me out on front office executives, on people that
work in upper management in sports, because last night on
the Hot Stove League, Nick Crawl said Elie Dela Cruise
last year played through a partial tear in his quad.

(10:39):
He says the injury happened sometime towards the end of July.
He played July, August, September and into October with a
partially torn quad. Everybody freaked out, rightfully. So I think
there's a legitimate reason people would wonder why you would

(10:59):
do that to your best player, especially given the way
that Elidela Cruz look over looked over the past two
and a half months. That's logical. But then Nick Kral
kind of circled back to back track, circled a little
bit arran and he followed that up by saying it

wasn't a partial tear of the quad, it was a strain.
It was a quad strain. Terrean, do you know what
a quad strain is?

I just googled it.

It's a partial.

Tear tissue injury that occurs when muscle or tendon is
stretched too far and partially or completely tears.

It is exactly what he said it was, but he
didn't like the wording, so they changed it there, basically
calling their fans idiots. They don't believe that you're smart
enough to figure out that one is the same thing

as the other. But let's look tarin partial quad tear
or a quad stream if you want to, if you
want to, if you want to crawl. It happened in
late July. They say, let's let's say July twentieth. We'll

go the back third of the month from July twentieth
all the way to September twenty eighth. Do you know
me home runs Ellie Day la Cruz hit.

Yeah you could. He hit two, three, sorry three in
that stretch. He hit one on the thirty first of July.
His next home run was September nineteenth, over a month

four or five, six, seven eight. In that same stretch,
that same two month stretch from the end of July

to the end of the season, he stole eight bases
fifty plus games. Eight bases. That's supposed to be you know,
that's your superstar. That's part of why he's electric. He's
one of the fastest players in baseball. Stole eight bases
in those fifty plus games. Andy was bad in the field.

What are we doing? Ellie wanted to play one sixty
two that's the big thing. We heard that all year
last year. Ellie wants to play one hundred and sixty
two games. There's not somebody in that organization that consider
Li de la Cruise down and say, sir, no, we're
not doing that. Not this year. It's not happening. We

need to get you rest. Where are the adults in
the room. I wonder that with the Reds and the
Bengals far too often. We'll get to all that. We'll

It makes me feel like a I can't wait till
they fire Zach Taylor soon enough, because, in my opinion,

since he's been the coach, he's never done anything to
protect his quarterback.

I tend to agree, Mark, Mark, I tend to agree.
But we are in a situation where I would feel
a lot differently if there was two three weeks left
in the season. Right, there's seven games left, and Joe
Burrow presumably is healthy You're not gonna pay a guy
almost half a billion dollars, have him healthy for almost

half a season and not play him. He's gonna play.

I just feel like that told I don't think that
tolls one hundred percent. I mean, I okay, I think
you need a I think you need to be a
couple more weeks to be on the safe side. I
don't think that tolls one hundred percent. And then on
top of it.

Zachy boy is gonna have him drop back.

Speaker 9 (17:39):
You know, he's gonna have him throw the ball forty
or fifty times and put him at risk that.

Yeah, I'm worried about that.

That's my biggest issue. You know, he put him on
the field with one leg you bet where.

They hurt his cast.

Yeah, it still had him drop him back throwing the ball.

So some of that, some of the mark I have
to believe, given what we've seen when Burrow has been
out over a couple of seasons. Now, I don't know
that that's the way Zach Taylor wants to play. I
think that's the way Joe Burrow wants to play.

Yeah, well, he wants to be in shotgun.

Speaker 3 (18:16):
He doesn't like to be.

On the center yeah, he better learned.

Speaker 9 (18:20):
Yeah, but my issue is you need to run the
ball more than you throw it.

Yeah.

But in that in that offense Joe Burrow wants to play,
you can. You can't run the ball well, not consistently,
not consistently because because the offensive line is spread out,
they're stretched thin. You do not have the ability. You've
heard Andrew Whitworth and a bunch of these NFL offensive

linemen talk about when Joe got hurt that that's the
most difficult way to play offensive line conceivable because you're
spread out, You're constantly in shotgun. There's very rarely you know,
if you have a tight end. He's a pass catcher,
he's not a blocker. Your running back is not staying
in the chip. You run five wide a lot, you

run empty like this is Joe has to grow out
of this is the way I play football, because it's
very difficult to play that way in the NFL and
be successful, especially right now.

Yeah.

Well, I think it's the coaching stay job.

To tell him no, I agree to.

Speaker 9 (19:34):
Get him to grow out of that and run the
offense that's better for the team instead of running it.

I agree, that's on the coaches somebody has to be
the grown up and tell Joe Burrow, no, just like
for the Reds, somebody has to be the grown up
and tell Eli de la Cruz, you're taking two weeks
off to get this quad as healthy as we can
get it for the stretch run.

I tore my quad at tendon back.

Speaker 9 (19:59):
In two thousand and twelve, and the doctor told me
when I tore it, he said you. He told me
I tore it to the point I tore it too
much to where he couldn't put me in a brace
and let it heal on his own.

They had to go in and read, you don't repair
a pack.

Yeah.

Whereas so to me, if he had a partially torn
quad tended, he shouldn't even been out there playing. Nope,
he should have been in a brace so that thing
can heal. So that's another fron office.

I don't know if you heard me with Tony, I said,
I said that needed to be like it's like a
cell phone, right, like the battery on a cell phone.
Ellie tears his squad, he's at like forty seven percent.
You better plug his butt back in and get him
to eighty percent before you start using him again. Yeah,

My whole issue with him is the way they run
that offense. I just see another injury waiting to happen
because you look, you look at that left tackle.

When when when he goes up against a Steve Rusher
that can just run right by him. How many times
you don't see him get deep this year with a
guy that can just run right past him. Yeah, you know,
you don saw that a lot. They need to be
thinking about getting a left tackle at the end of

this year because the problem Mark, Yeah, yeah, this guy,
for the money you're paying him, he doesn't anchor that line.

He doesn't.

But they've been a lot better with with Flacco than
they were with Burrow.

Yeah, because I think with Flacco they got up on
the center, he got the ball out a little quicker
and then he puts you know, they play action a little.

That that holds the linebackers, That holds everybody for that
split second because they got to make sure you ain't
running the ball, of course, and then that opens up,
that opens up something down the middle of the field.

have thirty two guests coming over. We have about fifteen
twenty people from the neighborhood that stop by for the
for the bakeoff to see who wins. It used to
be whoever lost went up When the girls were young

I think this offense can can be lead here. And

that can that can light him up here. I'm gonna
go with the upset road team favorite Bearcats strewed up

That's what I like here. Let's get to the NFL
Chiefs three point favorite. A little surprised by this one
over the Colts on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (26:42):
Get on it now. This line's going to go up
to three and a half, might even close it. For
I know the Colts are eight and two. I mean
they're good, but here's the deal. When they played good defenses,
maybe not quite as good rams number two defense couldn't
hold up. Lost on the road Steelers. You know they're
hot and cold. They had troubled there, turned it over
six times against the Denver Broncos, number three in scoring

defense escaped through a one point. When they're at home,
the Chiefs are the number four scoring defense, their backs
against the wall. They're five and five. Patrick Mahomes last week,
get this his top three down the field threats, Downtown
brown Worthy and Rice. The longest reception was eleven yards.

He missed early and often his ball was flat. Patrick Mahomes,
He's just like Josh Allen. He rarely has two bad games.
I like Kansas City thirty one to twenty.

Three, and then boy, Patriots eight point favorites over the Bengals.
That seems low. I'm just gonna says low.

Yeah, it does. Here's the thing, you know, guys leave Cincinnati,
even on defense, and all of a sudden, like Logan Wilson,
he's traded. They look pretty good again. So that's the problem.
They're gonna have to outscore.

Joe Flacco has played well so far, but.

He's still won four and now he's going to be
without Jamorrow. Chase Drake May how good has he be?
He keeps up this pace, he might win the MVP.
I just think that it's problems even with New England.
Once they get up, they run the football. But Tevian Henderson,
I mean, how good has he been at running back?
Didn't play much the first couple of weeks he has

almost five hundred yards, five touchdowns and add in twenty
six catches. He's a guy you know. He can break
it open and go the distance on any play, even
late when they're trying to, you know, milk out a
win here. I like New England here, hate to say it,
thirty four to twenty one.

calf they were going to do, that they were going
to go to more under. Center he was willing to do,
that and then it didn't make sense with the calf

of similar with the foot where they don't want him

if you catch it in the, shotgun you just kind
of hitch and.
