Speaker 1 (00:00):
School is in session when the Bengals look to take
New England to task. Who new history class could get
this violent? Speaking of the Patriots? I wonder how I
would look in a powdered wig. Probably not good. Coverage
begins at nine am Sunday, stream for free on the
new and improved iHeartRadio app or ESPN fifteen thirty, the
(00:23):
official home of the Cincinnati Bengals.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
Here we go.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
The Mowager Radio Show. I am not Mowager. Chad Brendle
filling in today as Mo gets a little fall downtime.
(01:01):
Thank you for choosing me, Taren. He called it load management?
Are we considering just because of the holiday and like
the schedules, you know, kind of moving around? Is this
load management? Like fall version from Oh?
Speaker 4 (01:15):
I don't know. I think he's just allergic to Thursdays.
He hasn't worked Musch Thursdays in the month of November.
Speaker 5 (01:20):
I mean.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
It's really smart, right, Like he's off on Fridays because
of the pep Rally show. So you take one day
off and you get a four day weekend. It's pretty
you know, we've talked about this before. Moe is the
master of working the schedule of effectively using vacation days
(01:45):
in the most you know, in the most beneficial ways
possible for the employee, Like he could he could teach
a college class on how to schedule vacations.
Speaker 4 (01:57):
I think the Bengals being bad.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
I do with that too, probably, Yeah, the Bengals are good,
like you want to be in here. Although the Bengals
definitely fit most criteria, right, be good or be interesting.
They're definitely interesting. They're not good, but there might not
be a more interesting team in the NFL, Like there
is no three to seven team in the NFL getting
(02:19):
talked about in the national spotlight as much as the
Cincinnati Bengals. Turn on your TV, they're talking something about
the Bengals potentially having the worst defense in the history
of the NFL. Joe Burrow coming back, Joe Flacco having
(02:40):
a one month stretch where he looked like the best
quarterback in the NFL. Like there's always something fun to
talk about. Today. That's Joe Burrow again out at practice
and it would appear preparing to play on Sunday. Now
(03:03):
some of that, of course, obviously Joe Flacco is limited,
so there's there's snaps there to be taken for Joe Burrow,
but it appears all systems are go on potentially seeing
(03:27):
Joe Burrow Sunday. I am not I'm not sold on
that yet. I am mainly not sold on that yet
because I've conceded the fact that Joe Burrow wants to play,
He's gonna play at some point in time this season.
Joe Burrow will be back. I don't love the fact
(03:49):
that you're putting him potentially in a situation where if
he comes back this Sunday, he's playing one of the
best teams in the NFL. In the New England Patriots
do a phenomenal job stopping the run, which means Cincinnati
is probably gonna be in a situation where they're gonna
throw the ball a lot if they want to be
(04:09):
effective and move the football, and then following that up
with a Thursday night Thanksgiving game against the Baltimore Ravens.
I don't love that. I don't love it, but it
does appear we are heading towards that happening. The question
becomes with the Cincinnati Bengals, a similar question that we'll
(04:32):
get to here in a second. With the Cincinnati Reds,
is there an adult in the room? Is there somebody
in the room capable of looking your star player, your
franchise player in the eye and saying, it's our team.
We want you back. But we don't think that this
is the best way to go about it. We think
(04:56):
it needs to be done this way. Now, maybe nobody
in the front office thinks that maybe that's a sports
talk radio thing, a social media thing, a fan thing
that look at this and say, is it really the
best idea when you're looking Sunday Thursday, to throw Joe
(05:19):
Burrow back out there after six weeks off, after two, three,
eleven on eleven practices, to throw him back out there
and just expect things to pick up where they left off.
I don't I don't necessarily think that's fair to Joe Burrow.
(05:41):
But if you're Joe Burrow, you're a football player, you
want to play football, you want to be out there
with your teammates. It's something I'm sure that eats at
you every week, especially these the way things have gone
since Joe Burrow got hurt, you can guarantee he's been
watching these games and going If I was out there,
(06:02):
it would have been different.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
Now.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
He doesn't play linebacker, doesn't play defensive back, so probably not,
but you know that's his mindset, so he's gonna want
to get out there. Do the Bengals think the best
thing for the long term sustainability of Joe Burrow is
(06:24):
to put him back out there Sunday and then running
back out there Thursday again. Or maybe they have a
plan and we just don't know about it yet. Given
past history, I find that a little bit hard to believe,
(06:47):
but I guess we'll find out as the week continues. Also,
you're gonna put him out there Sunday with no Jamar
Chase his number one security blanket. The best wide receiver
in the NFL. Calm down, tarrn Easy, easy, Tarn thinks
(07:13):
his team's got the best wide receiver in the NFL.
I mean, we do. We just don't have a quarterback.
I mean, but you don't. Jamar is the best wide
receiver in the NFL. Debating this service, you used to
have the best wide receiver in the NFL. His name
was Randy Moss. I'll give you that, But it just
(07:36):
looks like things the way that they align, it doesn't
seem like it would be the prudent decision to throw
Joe Burrow back out there on Sunday and then bring
him back on Thursday against the Ravens. Why not give
him a little more time. Why not give him the
ability to get through this week, then he's not If
(07:59):
he does make his return Thursday night, then he's not
on a short week. Then he's had time to fully
prepare for the Ravens without having to handle recovering from
a game against the Patriots. That seems logical to me.
(08:24):
But I know if Joe Burrow feels ready to play,
feels like he can can be at one hundred percent
or as close a proximity as he's going to get
to one hundred percent, he's going to want to be
out there. I don't blame him for that. I just
(08:45):
want to notice the front office think that's the best move.
I want to know that the people in that building
think our most effective strategy is to get Joe Burrow
back basically three four days after returning to full participant
(09:07):
in practice on a team that's three and seven. And
I mean, unless they bring in the eighty five Bears,
and I think the Taran I think the eighty five
Bears right now might be a better tackling defense than
this Bengals defense. What would those guys be sixty mid sixties,
(09:31):
now some seventies. Yeah, I think those guys could be
better defensively than this Bengals team tackling. The athleticism might
not be there, but they certainly wouldn't be be standing
there looking like a mime in New York City swinging
their arms as somebody puts their foot in the ground
(09:52):
and leaves them wondering why they're grasping it air. So
we'll get to that. That's the Bengals stuff, the red stuff.
Nick Kral spoke on last night on the Hot Stove League.
Nick Krawl did the one thing last night that generally
(10:16):
puts me out on front office executives, on people that
work in upper management in sports, because last night on
the Hot Stove League, Nick Crawl said Elie Dela Cruise
last year played through a partial tear in his quad.
(10:39):
He says the injury happened sometime towards the end of July.
He played July, August, September and into October with a
partially torn quad. Everybody freaked out, rightfully. So I think
there's a legitimate reason people would wonder why you would
(10:59):
do that to your best player, especially given the way
that Elidela Cruz look over looked over the past two
and a half months. That's logical. But then Nick Kral
kind of circled back to back track, circled a little
bit arran and he followed that up by saying it
(11:24):
wasn't a partial tear of the quad, it was a strain.
It was a quad strain. Terrean, do you know what
a quad strain is?
Speaker 4 (11:37):
I just googled it.
Speaker 3 (11:39):
It's a partial.
Speaker 4 (11:40):
Tear tissue injury that occurs when muscle or tendon is
stretched too far and partially or completely tears.
Speaker 3 (11:46):
It is exactly what he said it was, but he
didn't like the wording, so they changed it there, basically
calling their fans idiots. They don't believe that you're smart
enough to figure out that one is the same thing
(12:11):
as the other. But let's look tarin partial quad tear
or a quad stream if you want to, if you
want to, if you want to crawl. It happened in
late July. They say, let's let's say July twentieth. We'll
(12:32):
go the back third of the month from July twentieth
all the way to September twenty eighth. Do you know
me home runs Ellie Day la Cruz hit.
Speaker 4 (12:47):
Tarn I could probably count on my fingers.
Speaker 3 (12:51):
Yeah you could. He hit two, three, sorry three in
that stretch. He hit one on the thirty first of July.
His next home run was September nineteenth, over a month
and a half. He played with a torn partially torn squad.
(13:17):
Did not hit a home run going back, I'll have
to do this maybe in the break one, two, three,
four or five, six, seven eight. In that same stretch,
that same two month stretch from the end of July
(13:40):
to the end of the season, he stole eight bases
fifty plus games. Eight bases. That's supposed to be you know,
that's your superstar. That's part of why he's electric. He's
one of the fastest players in baseball. Stole eight bases
in those fifty plus games. Andy was bad in the field.
(14:06):
What are we doing? Ellie wanted to play one sixty
two that's the big thing. We heard that all year
last year. Ellie wants to play one hundred and sixty
two games. There's not somebody in that organization that consider
Li de la Cruise down and say, sir, no, we're
not doing that. Not this year. It's not happening. We
(14:28):
need to get you rest. Where are the adults in
the room. I wonder that with the Reds and the
Bengals far too often. We'll get to all that. We'll
get to UC Louisville. We'll get to UC BYU. We've
got a big guest list today, Lee Stirling from Paramount Sports.
(14:52):
We've got Kean Nicholson for Bearcat Journal, Mike de Coursi,
the Hall of Famer from the Sporting News. We'll get
you ready for college basketball this weekend. We've got Dan
Klaskins to talk some fantasy football and Jay Morrison to
talk Bengals. So a lot of guests, a lot of topics,
jam pack show tarn. This one's gonna fly by. Let's
take a break now, we'll get started right after this.
(15:12):

(15:43):
ten to fifteen minute delay and stop and go traffic
southbound seventy five Western Hills viaduc to Fort Washington Way.
Speaker 7 (15:49):
I'm at ezelic with traffic this reek.
Speaker 3 (16:01):
All right, let's get this show on the road. We
uh Atlee Sterling coming up at three point thirty and
Key Nicholson coming up after that. So let's let's go
to the phones and get Mark in Florence. First, Mark,
what's going on? My brother?
Speaker 2 (16:17):
Hey, what's going on? Tad?
Speaker 9 (16:20):
Not much, man, I'm I'm pissed all over again when
I when I heard that Joe Burrow was out there practicing.
It makes me feel like a I can't wait till
they fire Zach Taylor soon enough, because, in my opinion,
(16:41):
since he's been the coach, he's never done anything to
protect his quarterback.
Speaker 3 (16:48):
I tend to agree, Mark, Mark, I tend to agree.
But we are in a situation where I would feel
a lot differently if there was two three weeks left
in the season. Right, there's seven games left, and Joe
Burrow presumably is healthy You're not gonna pay a guy
almost half a billion dollars, have him healthy for almost
(17:11):
half a season and not play him. He's gonna play.
Speaker 9 (17:16):
I just feel like that told I don't think that
tolls one hundred percent. I mean, I okay, I think
you need a I think you need to be a
couple more weeks to be on the safe side. I
don't think that tolls one hundred percent. And then on
top of it.
Speaker 3 (17:36):
Zachy boy is gonna have him drop back.
Speaker 9 (17:39):
You know, he's gonna have him throw the ball forty
or fifty times and put him at risk that.
Speaker 3 (17:45):
Yeah, I'm worried about that.
Speaker 9 (17:47):
That's my biggest issue. You know, he put him on
the field with one leg you bet where.
Speaker 2 (17:53):
They hurt his cast.
Speaker 9 (17:53):
Yeah, it still had him drop him back throwing the ball.
Speaker 3 (17:58):
So some of that, some of the mark I have
to believe, given what we've seen when Burrow has been
out over a couple of seasons. Now, I don't know
that that's the way Zach Taylor wants to play. I
think that's the way Joe Burrow wants to play.
Speaker 10 (18:13):
Yeah, well, he wants to be in shotgun.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
He doesn't like to be.
Speaker 10 (18:17):
On the center yeah, he better learned.
Speaker 9 (18:20):
Yeah, but my issue is you need to run the
ball more than you throw it.
Speaker 2 (18:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (18:27):
But in that in that offense Joe Burrow wants to play,
you can. You can't run the ball well, not consistently,
not consistently because because the offensive line is spread out,
they're stretched thin. You do not have the ability. You've
heard Andrew Whitworth and a bunch of these NFL offensive
(18:49):
linemen talk about when Joe got hurt that that's the
most difficult way to play offensive line conceivable because you're
spread out, You're constantly in shotgun. There's very rarely you know,
if you have a tight end. He's a pass catcher,
he's not a blocker. Your running back is not staying
in the chip. You run five wide a lot, you
(19:12):
run empty like this is Joe has to grow out
of this is the way I play football, because it's
very difficult to play that way in the NFL and
be successful, especially right now.
Speaker 2 (19:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (19:28):
Well, I think it's the coaching stay job.
Speaker 3 (19:31):
To tell him no, I agree to.
Speaker 9 (19:34):
Get him to grow out of that and run the
offense that's better for the team instead of running it.
Speaker 3 (19:42):
I agree, that's on the coaches somebody has to be
the grown up and tell Joe Burrow, no, just like
for the Reds, somebody has to be the grown up
and tell Eli de la Cruz, you're taking two weeks
off to get this quad as healthy as we can
get it for the stretch run.
Speaker 4 (19:57):
I tore my quad at tendon back.
Speaker 9 (19:59):
In two thousand and twelve, and the doctor told me
when I tore it, he said you. He told me
I tore it to the point I tore it too
much to where he couldn't put me in a brace
and let it heal on his own.
Speaker 4 (20:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (20:14):
They had to go in and read, you don't repair
a pack.
Speaker 10 (20:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (20:18):
Whereas so to me, if he had a partially torn
quad tended, he shouldn't even been out there playing. Nope,
he should have been in a brace so that thing
can heal. So that's another fron office.
Speaker 7 (20:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (20:32):
I don't know if you heard me with Tony, I said,
I said that needed to be like it's like a
cell phone, right, like the battery on a cell phone.
Ellie tears his squad, he's at like forty seven percent.
You better plug his butt back in and get him
to eighty percent before you start using him again. Yeah,
I'm just getting back on the borough top.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (20:53):
My whole issue with him is the way they run
that offense. I just see another injury waiting to happen
because you look, you look at that left tackle.
Speaker 4 (21:07):
That you know his name.
Speaker 9 (21:09):
When when when he goes up against a Steve Rusher
that can just run right by him. How many times
you don't see him get deep this year with a
guy that can just run right past him. Yeah, you know,
you don saw that a lot. They need to be
thinking about getting a left tackle at the end of
(21:30):
this year because the problem Mark, Yeah, yeah, this guy,
for the money you're paying him, he doesn't anchor that line.
Speaker 11 (21:40):
He doesn't.
Speaker 3 (21:42):
But they've been a lot better with with Flacco than
they were with Burrow.
Speaker 9 (21:47):
Yeah, because I think with Flacco they got up on
the center, he got the ball out a little quicker
and then he puts you know, they play action a little.
Speaker 2 (21:55):
Bit more so.
Speaker 9 (21:58):
That that holds the linebackers, That holds everybody for that
split second because they got to make sure you ain't
running the ball, of course, and then that opens up,
that opens up something down the middle of the field.
Speaker 3 (22:12):
Yep, all right, I got a run, Mark, terns in
my ear, yelling at me. Okay, got it all right,
Thanks Manving. We'll talk again, all right, thanks man tap.

Speaker 3 (23:20):
All right, moving right along our number one. Let's get
to our normal Thursday segment in this particular time slot,
and that is none other than Lee Sterling from Paramount Sports.
Lee is He's on a bit of a heater. Two
and one. Last week thirty three eleven and one in
(23:42):
the NFL the last nine Sundays. If you've been following along,
you are you're making a mint off of Lee Lee.
How the heck are you?
Speaker 2 (23:51):
I can't couldn't be any better. Getting ready for Thanksgiving
Love Thanksgiving time. My two daughters. I don't know if
you know this. We have what's called the Key bakeoff.
And one daughter makes a banana cream pie. They've been
doing it now, I think like seventeen eighteen years and
once twenty eight one's twenty six. The other makes a
(24:13):
huckleberry pie. And for the first time ever, my oldest
who's married her her husband, my son in law is
he and my youngest daughter's boyfriend who she lives with,
are going to enter a mystery pie. They want to
follow along Next Thursday at about six forty five seven
(24:35):
o'clock we'll post it on Twitter at Paramount Sports and
have thirty two guests coming over. We have about fifteen
twenty people from the neighborhood that stop by for the
for the bakeoff to see who wins. It used to
be whoever lost went up When the girls were young
would go upstairs and start crying.
Speaker 10 (24:53):
For an hour in that hour.
Speaker 2 (24:57):
So now they've they've kind of they've gotten passed at.
But their their husband and boyfriend they share sure got
some confidence with this mystery pie that they're going to
be entering. They have installed themselves as a favorite. We'll see.
I just told them they got a shot.
Speaker 11 (25:14):
But if it's a tie, tie goes to the girls.
Speaker 2 (25:17):
Got to be honest.
Speaker 3 (25:17):
Yeah, I've got the husband and the boyfriend at like
plus two thirty.
Speaker 2 (25:24):
Yeah, yeah, I think so. You know, I told them,
as long as its not a lemon marangue pie, lemon
meringue pie, zero chance. That's the only pie I don't like.
Everything else is fair game.
Speaker 3 (25:34):
All right, let's get to it. Lee big one in
Cincinnati on Saturday night, number eleven BYU comes to town.
The Cougars. It's down to two. I think it was
a two and a half yesterday, it's down to two.
B YU has not been They are very good, but
they have not been as dominant on the road as
(25:55):
they have been at home. How do you see this one?
Speaker 2 (25:59):
That's a good way to describe it. Here's what I
would do. The defense, obviously, we know for the Bearcats
hasn't been good. They've been torched him back to back weeks.
So try something different. Let's go hurry up, you know,
ry a trick play or two. Once you get them
on their heels. They got to play with the lead here.
I think this offense can can be lead here. And
(26:20):
I think Brendan's Forzby. He's the difference. He's the guy
that can that can light him up here. I'm gonna
go with the upset road team favorite Bearcats strewed up
thirty seven to thirty four.
Speaker 5 (26:31):
There we go.
Speaker 3 (26:32):
That's what I like here. Let's get to the NFL
Chiefs three point favorite. A little surprised by this one
over the Colts on Sunday.
Speaker 2 (26:42):
Get on it now. This line's going to go up
to three and a half, might even close it. For
I know the Colts are eight and two. I mean
they're good, but here's the deal. When they played good defenses,
maybe not quite as good rams number two defense couldn't
hold up. Lost on the road Steelers. You know they're
hot and cold. They had troubled there, turned it over
six times against the Denver Broncos, number three in scoring
(27:05):
defense escaped through a one point. When they're at home,
the Chiefs are the number four scoring defense, their backs
against the wall. They're five and five. Patrick Mahomes last week,
get this his top three down the field threats, Downtown
brown Worthy and Rice. The longest reception was eleven yards.
(27:27):
He missed early and often his ball was flat. Patrick Mahomes,
He's just like Josh Allen. He rarely has two bad games.
I like Kansas City thirty one to twenty.
Speaker 3 (27:36):
Three, and then boy, Patriots eight point favorites over the Bengals.
That seems low. I'm just gonna says low.
Speaker 2 (27:47):
Yeah, it does. Here's the thing, you know, guys leave Cincinnati,
even on defense, and all of a sudden, like Logan Wilson,
he's traded. They look pretty good again. So that's the problem.
They're gonna have to outscore.
Speaker 11 (28:00):
Joe Flacco has played well so far, but.
Speaker 2 (28:02):
He's still won four and now he's going to be
without Jamorrow. Chase Drake May how good has he be?
He keeps up this pace, he might win the MVP.
I just think that it's problems even with New England.
Once they get up, they run the football. But Tevian Henderson,
I mean, how good has he been at running back?
Didn't play much the first couple of weeks he has
(28:24):
almost five hundred yards, five touchdowns and add in twenty
six catches. He's a guy you know. He can break
it open and go the distance on any play, even
late when they're trying to, you know, milk out a
win here. I like New England here, hate to say it,
thirty four to twenty one.
Speaker 3 (28:39):
You think Burrough plays? You don't think Burrough plays.
Speaker 2 (28:44):
I think they wait one more week. I thinks, giving.
Speaker 3 (28:46):
Yeah, I don't think you play him Saturday and then
bring him back Thursday. It just doesn't make sense to me,
all right? And then Game of the week Bears two
and a half point favorites over the Steelers.
Speaker 2 (28:57):
Wow, how big is this game for both teams? Who
ever think the Bears the first place? Fair anyway? First
place Bears, that's true, But look at that schedule. They're
going to start faltering now. First five callers get it
for free eight hundred four hundred nine seven eight hundred
four hundred nine seven four one to get Bears and
stealers on me. And how about this? We talked about
(29:20):
it the beginning of the show. NFL on Sundays run

and two seventy five. Looking at a twenty minute to
(30:59):
let back from Sunday Road. On southbound seventy one accident
on the left shoulder approaching Red Bank met e zelic
with traffic.
Speaker 3 (31:08):
Yes, that's the last show.
Speaker 7 (31:14):
Quick.
Speaker 12 (31:19):
You don't think we can.
Speaker 3 (31:22):
Something for a dance in.
Speaker 5 (31:26):
A real way?
Speaker 3 (31:28):
All right? Let's uh, let's get it going, keep the
ball rolling here on the Moegger Show, hosted by uh
not Moeger. I'm Chad Brenda, owner of Bearcat Journal dot com,
and uh let's let's continue the Bearcat Journal dot Com.
Love as we go out to my good friend and
(31:51):
loyal beat writer Kegan Nickoson, also a Bearcat Journal dot
com Keegan, how the heck are you?
Speaker 5 (32:00):
I'm doing great.
Speaker 13 (32:00):
I'm currently a discount code liaison for all these people
texting me trying to figure out how to put this
discount code in for the tickets on Friday. So that's
what I'm preoccupied with at the moment.
Speaker 3 (32:12):
They hit unlock, they go to Ticketmaster. They got to
hit unlock and then you enter the code Planet fifty
and that'll get you fifty percent off if you're interested
in going to see you see Anne Louisville. Uh, there's
a there's some high school football game or something or
other going on down there as well. I think there's
(32:33):
also a concert at the Brady. Trey Anastasia from Fish
going to be at the Brady on on Saturday or
on Friday night. So it's uh, it's going to be
busy downtown Friday night going to be very busy. Uh,
let's start that.
Speaker 13 (32:49):
I don't know what pack, I don't know what Pat
Kelsey is going to be doing based on his pressure today.
He might be sitting at pay Course Stadium and he
might not even coach the game. He seemed really excited
about that Elder s X game.
Speaker 3 (33:01):
I mean he could just get kicked out early.
Speaker 13 (33:03):
Rights tug may talk there.
Speaker 5 (33:07):
We go sold you that.
Speaker 3 (33:09):
The high school game starts at seven. I believe you
see Louisville starts at six thirty, so he could give
like a good twenty twenty five minutes. Uh, get tossed,
hop in a like a golf cart and head over
to Paycorps and catch the Elder game. That would be
the west Side thing to do. Like are you even
a west Sider if you coach Louisville and don't go
(33:31):
to the Elder Saint next game? Like, are you really
a west Sider?
Speaker 13 (33:35):
Yeah, he's got to prove his loyalty back to the
West Side now that he's coaching Louisville.
Speaker 3 (33:40):
When looking at this game, Kegan, Mikel Brown's really really good.
He's a guy that can put twenty five thirty on
you at at any given time. He's great downhill, he
can shoot the three. He's averaging over six assists a game,
like I know Debant's, Peterson and Boozer, like the main
(34:03):
guys in this class get a lot of love. Mikel
Brown is is outstanding and he's playing great so far
for the Cardinals.
Speaker 13 (34:13):
Yeah, And the most frightening part about this team is
that there's three guys at guard that they have besides Mikel.
Speaker 5 (34:21):
Brown who can just kill you.
Speaker 13 (34:23):
And Wes Miller said, you know, Mikel Brown is the
guy that.
Speaker 5 (34:28):
You game plan for.
Speaker 13 (34:29):
Ryan Conwell is the guy that you gain planned for,
and then Isaac McKenny is the guy.
Speaker 5 (34:33):
That you game plan for.
Speaker 13 (34:34):
And then the Kennislaw State guard is the guy that
you game plan for.
Speaker 5 (34:38):
So they have four guys that would.
Speaker 13 (34:40):
Usually take up a full defensive game plan in terms
of how you're going to stop them. And like when
he said that on Wednesday, I was like, oh crap,
He's got his work cut out for him come Friday night.
But yeah, Mikeel Brown. You know, they had one of
the best transfer portal classes in this past year, and
I think their best players is Brown out of the
high school ranks, the consensus top ten player, super fast,
(35:04):
can create at the rim.
Speaker 5 (35:05):
And the mid range.
Speaker 13 (35:06):
He's shooting it well from three so far, and he's
a very very dangerous player. So he's probably the lead
reason putting them over the top as as a national
title contender. And then the depth that they have at
the guard spot, even getting.
Speaker 5 (35:21):
Into some of their bigs.
Speaker 13 (35:23):
Is what makes them such a dangerous and really talented team.
Speaker 3 (35:26):
I think if you go back a week and a
half or so, when they played Louisville or when Louisville
played Kentucky. Louisville dismantled Kentucky, and I think people got
really excited about how good Louisville could be. Kentucky has
now got gotten dismantled by Louisville and by Michigan State.
(35:50):
Do you reevaluate Louisville at all? Seeing how Kentucky looked
against another I think Michigan State could easily be in
the lead eight Final four type team too.
Speaker 13 (36:05):
Not really just because of the proven talent and experience
that they have. If it was a bunch of no
name transfer portal guys and the one really highly rated
high school kid, maybe, but like Ryan Conwell has been
a stud since he was the Indiana State Isaac McKinnie
shot forty two percent last year for Virginia from three
(36:27):
Isaac McNeely, pardon me. Kobe Rodgers also talented. And then
they've got they went to Cincinnati Corey Evans rout and
got a six to eleven guy out of Germany to
come in and he's been contributing as well.
Speaker 5 (36:42):
So they've got a ton of talent.
Speaker 13 (36:44):
And that's not even to mention Ali Khalifa, who's had
a good career. The talent is rich and it's proven,
it's experienced, and now it's all coming together with the
right pieces led by Maco Brown and also led by
a pretty dang good coach in Tat Kelsey.
Speaker 3 (37:00):
What do you have against Ryan Conwell's time at South Florida, Keen.
Speaker 13 (37:07):
All I remember is the Nit game, and that is
one of the loudest stadiums I'd ever covered a game
in and I think he went for seventeen and then
eighteen when he was with Xavier last year. So yeah,
I just remember that was the only year of his
college career that he didn't average double digits s if I'm.
Speaker 5 (37:25):
Correct on that.
Speaker 2 (37:26):
Yeah, he was.
Speaker 3 (37:26):
I mean, he wasn't very good at South Florida.
Speaker 5 (37:28):
I was just it.
Speaker 3 (37:29):
Feels like regardless, he's going to be one. Like he's
going to play at four different schools, South Florida, Indiana State, Xavier,
and Louisville, and he's going to play against Cincinnati in
all four years. That's wild.
Speaker 13 (37:42):
He's like the new Juan Roberts wild Away.
Speaker 3 (37:49):
What does Cincinnati have to do to win that game?
Or do you think it's just play your best guys?
There's juice boxes for everybody in the in the locker room.
Speaker 13 (38:00):
I if I was completely honest, I'd probably go lean
more towards the ladder than the former of them, like
having a pass.
Speaker 5 (38:08):
Now, Cincinnati is a good basketball team.
Speaker 13 (38:11):
Louisville can have an off night shooting and Cincinnati can
kill them on the glass and get a bunch of
second chance points and defend really well, play with their
high pace and wear them down and he's gone a
couple of runs and win the game. Like that's not
out of the question at all. But you know, when
I talked with Tony, one of the things I said
is I think you see is more talented at the
(38:31):
big spot and maybe has some more height.
Speaker 5 (38:34):
But I might have just been dead wrong on that.
Speaker 13 (38:37):
I mean, Connie Ruth six ten, Keyshawn Pryor six', Ten
Ali khalifa is seven, foot one of the best passing
gigs in the. Country and Then Sinandra, frew the kid
From germany's six to eleven.
Speaker 3 (38:49):
And he's got.
Speaker 5 (38:50):
Signed so, yeah they've.
Speaker 13 (38:52):
Got a ton of really talented size and proven, size
and that still isn't even the best.
Speaker 5 (38:58):
Part of their.
Speaker 13 (38:58):
Team BECAUSE I i can't talk enough And Wes miller couldn't
talk enough yesterday about how good they are at, guard
and then you, think, okay, well you see that's.
Speaker 5 (39:10):
A really good guard. Team is probably a.
Speaker 13 (39:12):
Good matchup for you see because they Have, Data thomas
And sincere, Here so you can defend those guys and
try their best to shut them.
Speaker 5 (39:18):
Down but then you've.
Speaker 13 (39:19):
Got two other guards that you have to worry. About
SO i Think data And sincere might have to play
about thirty. Minutes and just like kind of What Kirk
crisis said when he said that he Felt dada was
going to get thirty points Against, dayton and dayDay, said
my job is a Shutdown Javon. Bennett don't even worry
about the offensive. End just defend and see what. Happens
(39:39):
but that's also tough Because dada's been your leading tour
for the past two, games.
Speaker 5 (39:44):
So someone else is going to have to step up
in that.
Speaker 3 (39:46):
Area maybe one of the biggest weekends IN U see's
sports history in terms of the level of. Games you
get number Six downtown in basketball On, friday and Then
saturday you Get big newon kickoff and then eight pm
nip at Night number eleven byu comes to. Town it's
(40:07):
a two point, line BUT byu is favored by. Two
where are you at on this game in terms of this.
Offense Because cincinnati's going to win the, game they're going
to have to play really well. Offensively they have not
done so in the past two. Weeks can they bounce?
Speaker 13 (40:24):
BACK i don't, Know And i'm kind of trending towards
more of WHERE i was at in twenty twenty three
and twenty twenty, four and that when this team is
challenged and when they get, exposed they really really struggle to.
Respond they struggle to find the right sixes and make
(40:45):
the necessary adjustments to get. Better like a lot of
the things just, snowball and whether it was the offense
struggling in the past and not being able to get
open and now it's kind of the same thing and
not the.
Speaker 10 (41:01):
It's not the same.
Speaker 3 (41:02):
Thing they dropped five passes Against, Arizona, like, yeah they
got bullied By. Uto utah is a much much better
team Than. Cincinnati Like, arizona the plays were there to be,
made And cincinnati did not make the. PLAYS i don't
Think arizona was clearly superior in. TALENT i Think cincinnati
(41:23):
just their best. Players we've talked about this all week
On Bearcat. Journal your best players have to play. Great
cincinnati's best players had the opportunity to make that a
much different looking, game and they didn't. Accomplish they didn't
get the job. Done get play.
Speaker 13 (41:41):
BETTER i, Mean Joe royer got one target and then
the post route that everyone is talking about With Noah
jennings that a lot of people are calling a. DROP
i think on the first round receivers come down with
that catch because that was a perfectly played ball and punched.
Speaker 5 (41:56):
Out because in his, hands that's the point of. Attack it.
Speaker 13 (41:59):
Was he didn't have full possession.
Speaker 5 (42:01):
Before it was punched out in his.
Speaker 3 (42:03):
Hands there were five. Drops can you're talking about? One
i'm talking about four other potential first downs balls that
were at the line to gain or beyond the line to,
gain And cincinnati's wide receivers dropped. Him i'll send you
the video if you. Like, okay point being sometimes when
(42:28):
it in games like, this you've got to make. Plays
and the question On Saturday night against another, physical aggressive
defense LIKE, byu are these guys going to be able
to make the.
Speaker 13 (42:40):
Plays they've shown all year if the play is there
that they've been able to make it besides these last two.
Speaker 5 (42:49):
Games SO i guess it's just a system.
Speaker 13 (42:52):
Failure Of When Scott saderfield coach football teams play In,
november they usually aren't very, good especially based off of
the last three. Years but when you get to this
point in the, season the losses start to pile. Up
SO i don't know if it's just the wear and
tear of the, season if it's, injuries if it's not
playing one hundred. Percent BUT i don't. Know i'm kind
(43:15):
of going back to until they can prove me. Wrong
i'm probably not gonna take them to win a.
Speaker 3 (43:20):
Game, YEAH i mean it's. FAIR i think it's a
little unfair and THAT i just don't think until this
year they were not A big twelve talented. Roster it
got Bad like year, one it was bad, bad so
of course you're not gonna win a lot of. Games last,
YEAR i think it was it, improved BUT i don't
(43:42):
think they had gotten into the upper half of the.
League this, year they're in the upper half of the.
League they're gonna finish with the winning record in The big.
Twelve they're going to be in position depending on these
last two weeks to play in a pretty good bowl.
Games it's, developing BUT i think hegan it's because they.
Have it was five and two last, year, right and
(44:04):
then they played the tougher part of their schedule and
things fell. Apart now a couple of those, games they
should have won The West virginia. Game Unquestionably Cincinnati pete
down their leg in that. One but, yeah it's it's
time for A Scott saderfield. Team sometimes you got to
go out and beat a team that's better than, you,
right like you're allowed to do.
Speaker 5 (44:26):
That have?
Speaker 3 (44:28):
You do you think they've beaten a team that's better
than them in The big?
Speaker 2 (44:30):
Twelve? Yet?
Speaker 3 (44:33):
NO i mean maybe last year with With, scott with,
uh with with Uh Sam levitt out Against Arizona. STATE
i don't know who you got BEFORE i let you?
Go you got you got the B Yu.
Speaker 5 (44:47):
Cougars, Yes i'm gonna pick to win the.
Speaker 3 (44:51):
Game you're Picking louisville and B.
Speaker 5 (44:53):
Yu, YEAH i am The i'm the enemy of the state.
Speaker 3 (45:00):

definitely a Dirty south.
Speaker 11 (47:49):

there in Old.
Speaker 3 (47:52):

carolina for the, Food Low country foods. Outstanding yeah it.
Speaker 11 (48:28):
IS i had my, first uh years, ago years, ago
my first shrimp shrimp, burger and my, god it was so.
GOOD i just can't even tell. YOU i remember that's
been fifty years.
Speaker 3 (48:41):
Ago cajun seafood, boils Low country, boils shrimp and, grits
fried green.
Speaker 12 (48:50):
Tomatoes, OH i, KNOW i know better to bring up
food with you BECAUSE i always leave being.
Speaker 11 (48:58):
Hungry, Hey i'm telling, you, man, this This arizona team
in THE ncaa basketball is no. Joke too huge wins this,
week which should propel them to number. Three i'm not
so sure they can beat can't Beat houston for do
with that Break. SMITH i think they're gonna be hard
to deal.
Speaker 3 (49:17):
WITH i will say, this if you're gonna Get, houston
you better get them. Now i'll just say that straight.
Up because they have three great, Veterans, okay three great,
veterans Sharp uzon And. Tugler they they have. One they
(49:37):
have maybe the best one to two punch for freshmen
in the. Country Kingston, flemings you. DON'T i don't know
if you know the name. Yet Mike Kingston flemings is
maybe the best guard That Kelvin samson's had At. Houston it's.
Speaker 15 (49:51):
Freshmen i've heard, THEM i haven't seen him play. YET
i haven't Seen houston play.
Speaker 3 (49:55):
Yet and then they're they're freshman big. Man Chris sinak
is a, monster he's they're both both those guys are
lottery pick level. Guys so once he gets them up
to speed with those three, VETERANS i think it's gonna
it's gonna take longer than it normally takes At, houston
BUT i think by Mid january Into, february they're gonna Be.
(50:18):
Houston but they're gonna Be houston with lottery pick talent
and he hasn't had a lot of.
Speaker 2 (50:24):
That are you a?
Speaker 3 (50:26):
PLAN i just like the way he, operates. MAN i
like the way he trains his. GUYS i like the
way that that they are. Consistent there's very rarely a
night off with that. Program SO i, MEAN i you,
KNOW i don't love the, guy BUT i have a
ton of respect for for the way he coaches his
(50:47):
Teams arizona With Jaden bradley And CoA. PETE i, mean
they've got an argument for number. One they've got two
of the three biggest wins in the. Country, yep they sure.
Speaker 16 (50:57):
Do on the, road, yea the road, well and you
know who gave him the, Well i'll tell you mix
Mixed bruins, outplayed played a much tougher Than kentucky did much.
Speaker 3 (51:08):
Tougher The kentucky kind of.
Speaker 11 (51:10):
Sticks And nick just does this thing with that defense.
Speaker 2 (51:16):
MAN i love the.
Speaker 5 (51:18):
GUY i just love.
Speaker 11 (51:18):
Him do you think they're gonna do?
Speaker 3 (51:20):
ANYTHING i love. Him i've got one problem with, Them. Mike,
offensively they are one of the least efficient teams in the.
Country they they do not shoot a lot of, Threes
they do not shoot a lot of. Layups they shoot
a lot of mid range, stuff and it's just bad. Offense,
Uh Donovan. DENT i think once he finds his, GROOVE
(51:44):
i think they're gonna be one of the better teams
in The big. TEN i just don't know what their upside.
Speaker 11 (51:47):
Is, Well i'll tell YOU Hami hiren has ended up
having a nice little career up here in THE.
Speaker 5 (51:52):
Nba hadn't HE i love like he?
Speaker 2 (51:56):
Was?
Speaker 3 (51:56):
True he. Was he was the quintessential McK cronin college basketball.
Speaker 9 (52:01):
Player, yeah he.
Speaker 11 (52:02):
Was that's the best way to describe.
Speaker 2 (52:05):
It you hit it on.
Speaker 11 (52:05):
It you know WHAT i loved about.
Speaker 2 (52:07):
YOU i love this.
Speaker 12 (52:08):
About you all the.
Speaker 11 (52:08):
Time BUT i love your history lesson that you gave
To austin. Today it was so well put to the
point you didn't want to hurt his feelings about his,
age but you. Did you did try to display your
wisdom and eight wisdom does come with?
Speaker 2 (52:26):
Age it? Does it? Does it?
Speaker 3 (52:28):
DOES i ONLY i only brought that up BECAUSE i lived.
IT i was him at the same, age trying to
or illustrate and orchestrate the same things. That, hey we
can't change, ownership so let's talk about something, else because
the ownership's not going to. Change and it doesn't, Matter,
(52:50):
no it does. Matter it does matter because the ownership
is the people hiring and and controlling the way the
purse strings are operated and pulling the switches and flipping the.
Levers and it doesn't matter who they put in those
spots because the people calling the shots are still the
same people calling the. Shots and unfortunately those people have
(53:14):
never learned their. Lesson they've never figured it.
Speaker 11 (53:17):
Out, nope And pittsburgh's the same damn. THING i wonder
well with The pirates, anyway and partially with The, skillers
BUT i just wonder you Know austin's argument as, well
it's never Gonna like you, said it's never gonna.
Speaker 10 (53:34):
Change we just.
Speaker 11 (53:34):
Got to deal with what we've got as far as the.
Ownership but eventually it will. Change these people are gonna, die, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (53:41):
But with The, bengals the people are gonna, die but
the same the same lineage is going to run. It
eventually with The, reds there'll be a new, ownership like
a new controlling. Partner that's WHAT i. Think people don't
understand what The, Reds. Mike they Think casolini owns The.
Reds castellini owns a piece of The reds and has
(54:03):
the controlling share of The. Reds there's like eleven other
people that own The.
Speaker 5 (54:10):
Reds, yeah he got.
Speaker 11 (54:12):
WHAT i don't even know if he has fifty one. Percent, no,
no no he.
Speaker 3 (54:15):
Doesn't he. Does he does not have a. Majority he
just has the controlling. Share, okay so he doesn't call
all the shots there's an ownership group that controls The.
Reds castellini takes all the, heat AND i think he
stinks as the controlling. Partner but that's not The brown.
Family The brown families like you're gonna have to pry
(54:38):
The bengals out of their cold dead, fingers all of.
Speaker 11 (54:40):
Them that's, True it is, no but you're right, now
that multiple ownership thing just creates. Nothing but basically this
economies of. SCALE i, mean you just got too many
fingers in the pie with too many, opinions.
Speaker 3 (54:54):
Right too many, chiefs not Enough. Indians, yeah that's the.
Speaker 11 (54:59):
Classic you gotta, go. BROTHER i always enjoy, it and
thank you so much for letting me. IN i appreciate.
Speaker 3 (55:04):
YOU i appreciate.
Speaker 8 (55:05):
It.
Speaker 3 (55:05):
Man every good. Weekend IF i don't talk to, you
have a Good thanksgiving.
Speaker 11 (55:08):
Yea Doug, bushy you, Too Chadd blush your.
Speaker 3 (55:11):
Family appreciate your. Brother, YEAH i, MEAN i if you
didn't Hear austin AND I austin last week AND i
wanted to talk about it on, AIR i didn't want.
TO i was trying to be as, like just open
and interested in conversation as humanly possible when talking about
(55:34):
not the argument essentially Was i'm not Gonna i'm tired
of talking about The browns and and the, Family, like
let's talk About Duke tobin And Zach taylor and And
Al golden and those are the people that ultimately control the.
OUTCOME i felt like that too for, many many. Years
but as you get older and and and you continue
(55:56):
to go through this, cycle it's a it's a four
or five year. Cycle with The Cincinnati, bengals they bought them,
out they get a really high draft, pick maybe two
years in a. Row they get high draft. Picks they
ride those draft picks to a couple of years of.
Success the second contract comes up for those, people the
high draft picks go. Away now they're picking at the
(56:18):
bottom of the. Draft everything kind of falls apart because
the system isn't. There to be successful from the back
of the. Draft you got to be really good to
continuously be successful from the back of the. Draft The bengals.
Aren't then the roller coaster drops back down because they
didn't replenish the. Roster they weren't prepared for what happens
(56:40):
when your quarterback's making high end money from when you
don't have as much to use on the rest of the,
roster they drop back, down quarterback, leaves they bottom, out
they get a high draft. Pick, boom process starts over.
Again that's what it. IS i wish it was, wrong
(57:03):
but that's how it's played out over a couple. Decades

Speaker 3 (59:14):
Uh it's football in The, Natties so give, me give
me fifteen. Seconds on The Cincinnati bengals, Defense oh, WOW
i mean worst you've ever seen?
Speaker 12 (59:25):
It the Worst i've ever. Seen, oh it's hard to
think of one, worst especially, now like Without trey then
it gets really. Bad, yeah without him it, is it
is really. POOR i think it's hard to find that
a worst.
Speaker 2 (59:40):
ONE i, mean.
Speaker 12 (59:42):
Especially within the salary cap. Era, when the, when the
relative balance and all. That yet it's especially With Trey henderson,
missing it's it's it's pretty.
Speaker 7 (59:52):
Bad.
Speaker 3 (59:53):
Uh Joe flacco limited in practice for the second day
in a. Row full participant again. Today Joe. Burrow we're
probably gonna See Joe burrow On sunday against The.
Speaker 12 (01:00:05):
Patriots by the, way The bengals have my full permission
and endorsement to go out and get, way way better
because they The steelers don't play them. ANYMORE i know
they have at least did they have Two ravens or one?
Speaker 2 (01:00:17):
Range?
Speaker 12 (01:00:19):
Oh, yes, yes Go, bengals go For.
Speaker 3 (01:00:23):
Let's get to college, Basketball, Mike Cincinnati louisville tomorrow, Night Heritage.
Bank how much does the sport miss rivalries like this
that were rooted in decades of, history especially for these
two schools bouncing from conference to conference and you, know
(01:00:44):
being seemingly intertwined all the way until The Big east broke.
Up how much does the sport miss things like?
Speaker 2 (01:00:50):
This?
Speaker 12 (01:00:51):
WELL i always felt Like, Memphis, cincinnati And louisville just fit. Together,
yeah and now two of them are in separate major
conferences in the third is unable to Find you.
Speaker 17 (01:01:02):
Know that that lifeboat.
Speaker 12 (01:01:04):
Anywhere, unfortunately it felt like those teams should play like
they belonged in the same. Conference they were very comparable
in the way they operated in all of. That SO
i think it does miss. It BUT i, think you,
KNOW i think that The bearcats from a basketball, STANDPOINT
i think they still have you, know because of the,
shootout they still have a. Rivalry they don't have any
(01:01:27):
particular magic with their opposition in. Conference but then, again
you get An arizona in, there you Get Texas tech in,
there you Get kansas in. There SO i, mean you
may not get the teams that you were accustomed to,
playing but the tradeoff is pretty.
Speaker 3 (01:01:45):
Good the trade off isn't isn't too. Bad you get
you Get houston to open Up big twelve play at.
Home you'll take that last.
Speaker 12 (01:01:55):
Year last, year didn't they opened with?
Speaker 17 (01:01:57):
You.
Speaker 12 (01:01:57):
Arizona big twelve seems to like to smack The bearcats
the face.
Speaker 3 (01:02:00):
Right right, away right out of the, gate just. Smack
looking at This louisville, ROSTER i know everybody loves The big,
Three Debanza, Peterson, BOOZER. Mikel brown's not far. Off he
is outstanding so far For. LOUISVILLE i am a Big
Mikel brown.
Speaker 12 (01:02:18):
Guy and that was rooted in the fact THAT i
spent part of my, summer not a huge, part but
a couple, hours like seven times watching the play point
guard for THE u nine teens and he Was, honestly
Aj De bounce is a tremendous, player and he had
a fine. Tournament but WHEN i was watching after they
had just cleaned house in the championship game Against germany
(01:02:41):
and waiting for the for the announcement on The All
tournament and all, that it was a jaw dropper for.
Me when they PICKED. Aj he was he, was you,
know he WAS. Aj maybe not a PLUS, aj but
he WAS aj for most of the. Tournament but the
best player in the, tournament and the BEST us player Was.
Speaker 2 (01:02:59):
Mikel.
Speaker 12 (01:03:00):
Round he is A he is a, big huge point.
Guard he fits the proto type of the twenty you,
know the twenty first century point Guard Shay, Gilgess alexander
Ty Rese, halliburton that. GUY i, Mean i'm not like
he has to go be that, guy but he's got
what those guys have in terms of, size, vision ability
(01:03:21):
to make. Shots he's a tremendous.
Speaker 3 (01:03:23):
Talent MIKE i. WOULD i don't know if you would
agree with me or. NOT i Watched shae a, TON
i Watched halliburton quite a, bit And cincinnati recruited both of,
Well cincinnati Recruited shay's, Cousin nikki Oh Walker. Alexander SO
i Saw shaye a, LOT i saw tyres a. LOT
i Think Michael brown's farther along at a similar. Stage,
(01:03:45):
YEAH i think that's. TRUE i mean he's got a
long way to go to be, Them but, boy they were.
Speaker 12 (01:03:51):
Both they were both double digit. PICKS i Think shae
was ten And tyreese was eleven IF i remember. Right,
so so the league didn't totally catch onto. THEM i
don't think they're going to miss on this. Guy he
may it may take a few minutes for him to
go off the board because of the talent that's there
in this in this freshman class is. Amazing but he's
not going to take a long time to get off the.
Speaker 3 (01:04:13):
Board they they've built a really good roster down. THERE
i Think pat's done a good. Job he's got shooters
with some sides on the. Wing he's got bigs that
can run the. Floor they've got some, length they can
shoot the three they you, know people think of them
as a three point shooting. TEAM i think they're actually
over sixty percent from two their top ten in the
(01:04:34):
country and two point field goal percentage so. Far like
when looking at This louisville team getting ready for this thing,
tomorrow it feels Like pat did a heck of a
job putting a team.
Speaker 12 (01:04:44):
Together he, DID i you, know one of The but
it wasn't just who you got. IN i, mean like
When Ryan conwell went, there it was, like, oh that's
a good, piece, RIGHT i mean you saw him a
billion times last year For xavior and sometimes he was really,
good and sometimes it was like like was he? There
and that was the thing about and that was true
(01:05:06):
of a lot Of xaviers guys last. Year it's one
of the reasons that was such an effort for them
to get in the. Tournament but like now he's, great
like every, NIGHT i, mean and that's although mikel did
not play well in the exhibition game Against, Kansas ryan
has been good pretty much from the beginning and just
about every competition that they've had that's been, public and
(01:05:27):
so it's not just about who you brought, in but
what you do with them AND i think that he
absolutely built a nice, roster but he's also doing a
really good job of putting the players in position to.
Succeed and, again when you start with a talent LIKE
Mikel brown at that, position then your job is a
little bit.
Speaker 3 (01:05:47):
Easier, cincinnati it feels Like Wes miller's put together maybe
his most cohesive roster so far to. Date but WHEN
i look at, This, MIKE i think they've got a
chance to be pretty. Good my, goodness you're talking. FIVE
i won't Include kansas yet Because peterson's not at one
hundred percent AND i need to see what they look
(01:06:09):
like more with. Him you've got FIVE i think legit
top fifteen type, teams Then, Kansas, Cincinnati. Baylor there's a
couple Teams Oklahoma, State West virginia that that have looked good. Early,
like this is a tight needle That Wes miller has
to thread this, year even THOUGH i think he's got
his best his best group it.
Speaker 12 (01:06:29):
Is but one of the things that you have to
remember is that the the number of bids that are
available to a leitue are being that number is being
earned right. Now, yeah and to this, point it's been
a really good start for The Big, twelve they've had a.
LOT i Mean arizona's. Success like if you're A bearcats,
(01:06:51):
fan every time that, happens every time you see them
go out and beat a top, team that's that helps.
You it helps a ton for for for The bearcats
to see, that for them to go out and win At,
yukon for them to go and Play ucla IN la
and and and you look and but you also look
(01:07:13):
at that and you, think, wow that's a. Lot that's
how are we going to play with? Them but if
you're watching the, game you, think, yeah you, know if
we are if we play great against. Them maybe because
they haven't been dominant, offensively they sometimes struggle a little.
Bit they had, to, uh they had to accelerate down
the stretch Against ucla to come back from the deficit they.
Speaker 11 (01:07:33):
Had they and.
Speaker 12 (01:07:34):
They're a very very good, team but that offense can
be a little bit stagnant and uh and they don't
shoot the basketball at an elite. Level SO i think
you can feel like you're in the. PICTURE i, mean right,
now at this, point The big The big twelve has
won sixty two out of seventy games non. Conference, now
some of those are the are the high points and all.
(01:07:56):
That but BUT i just gave you three examples just
with one team of high end. Achievement and this is
a chance now For cincinnati tomorrow night to contribute to.
Speaker 3 (01:08:07):
That when you look at this, team is there anybody
that stood out to you so?
Speaker 11 (01:08:11):
Far with The?
Speaker 12 (01:08:13):
BEARCATS i, mean for, ME i think in a lot of,
ways kerkkrisa BECAUSE i, Mean kerr has always been a
very capable, player but at trouble staying, healthy shot comes
and goes a little. Bit he hasn't shot the ball well.
Yet but when you have a guard who is assisting
at the rate he, is then you have some definition
(01:08:36):
to your. Offense and day they's doing a nice job
in that department. Too but when they took, HER i, thought,
like is he going to be able to play the whole?
Year BECAUSE i mean he's had a couple of times
where where his seasons got injured interrupted by. Injury AND
i think if you have a Healthy, curR i think
you have a very, fine high major point, guard and
(01:08:58):
so a lot flows from. That i'm a big point guard.
GUY i MEAN i THINK i think if you don't have,
that it's kind of like trying to Get it's not
quite as as as monumental as not having a, quarterback
but it's it does make your job a lot. HARDER
i mean that That duke team last, YEAR i should
(01:09:18):
have won it. ALL i, mean they've got two of
the three or four best rookies in the league right,
now and they didn't win it all because they had
to play with a manufactured point. Guard Sion james was
a really Good division one basketball. Player he's a, pro
but he wasn't really a point guard and that cost.
Them and so having guys at that position that can
(01:09:40):
make you better is a huge advantage over those teams
that don't have, it and there are plenty of them that.
Speaker 3 (01:09:46):
Don't looking At xavier With Richard bettino's first, year is
this do they just have to kind of bite the
bullet on this one and hope to see continued. Improvement
there's a group of sophomores there that you know they're
they're hoping develop and become kind of the foundation going.
(01:10:07):
Forward is this just a growth experiment For patino year?
Speaker 2 (01:10:10):
One?
Speaker 12 (01:10:11):
Yeah when they were taking their portal, GUYS i, MEAN
i would imagine you felt this way that when they
when they brought their guys. In you're, like, okay, okay
so that guy can, help and that guy can, help
and where's the?
Speaker 11 (01:10:24):
Guy where are the?
Speaker 12 (01:10:25):
Guys that's that you look over and, over and you
kept waiting for somebody who was significant where they had
been and that really didn't come, up and SO i
started to wonder what might be possible for this team this.
YEAR i Think richard's a terrific coach and he's just
got to put together better. Rosters and maybe it was
(01:10:47):
maybe it's hard being late to the game in terms
of being hired in the. Spring some guys are already
ready to go in that, sense but this doesn't look
like they had that advantage when they went portal, shopping
so to. Speak and SO i think what you do
(01:11:08):
at this, point when you look around and you see
that the talent might not really be at the level
necessary to win in the league you are what you
want to do is to, Say, okay here's how we're
going to. Win this is who we're going to, be
and we are doing this every single day and every
single night we. Play AND i don't have to tell
you that chat because you watched it in two thousand and.
(01:11:29):
Six that's WHAT i. Know xavier doesn't want to be
compared to The bearcat except when they, play. Etc but
you have to do that because they did that and
they built a winning program And indiana under creen in
two thousand and eight when he walked into what was
basically an empty, gym same. Thing this is who we're
going to. Be this is how we're going to. Play no,
(01:11:50):
deviation no going below and if you go below.
Speaker 2 (01:11:52):
It you don't.
Speaker 12 (01:11:52):
Play and that didn't. Happen you know where that didn't.
Happen speaking of who's playing tomorrow night In cincy Was
louisville a few years. Ago they looked at the team and,
said these guys aren't our guys when we get our. Guys,
no you can't do. That you have to. Go you
have to go for the best you can possibly get
from the minute you get in, there even if you
(01:12:13):
know in your heart that it's not going to be
what your fans expect or what you.
Speaker 3 (01:12:18):
Expect do they maybe catch a break that The Big east.
Isn't they don't look very good so. Far there's a
couple of teams at the top THAT i, THINK i
Think danny's going to be. Okay villanova looked better from
the little bit Of i've seen of them so, far
but that does not look like a league that's going
(01:12:38):
to be much you, know in the middle to the.
Bottom it doesn't look like there's a lot of strength.
There Maybe xavier can pick up some steam in the conference.
Speaker 12 (01:12:46):
PLAY i can't rule that. Out BUT i Think georgetown's very.
GOOD i Think yukon is very. Good, Creighton i'm not sure.
About Saint john's is going to be. Terrific that's three
teams THAT i really have a lot of belief, in
AND i have more belief In villanova And butler at this,
stage and maybe even To paul than The. Musketeers The,
(01:13:08):
musketeers so we will.
Speaker 2 (01:13:10):
See but there are.
Speaker 12 (01:13:11):
You, Know marquette is, Struggling providence is. Struggling To, paul
we don't know for sure which way it's going to.
Go Seaton hall has a nice, start all basically against
mid to low, majors trying to build some. Confidence totally
get What shaw is, doing but just because they're five
and oh doesn't Mean i'm convinced they're going.
Speaker 3 (01:13:28):
Right and then Finally. Kentucky, LOOK i know everybody wants
to make snap. Judgments kentucky's without their point, guard a
very very good college point. Guard they're without their starting,
center a lottery pick, potential big. Man is it just
going to take some? TIME i know everybody looked at
(01:13:49):
this thing and that all twenty two million dollar. Roster
that doesn't mean a whole lot when a bunch of
that money is not on the. COURT i guess.
Speaker 12 (01:14:01):
Because it's easy and. Convenient but it's like if it's my,
money or some portion of it is my, Money, okay
Maybe i'm, Concerned but If i'm a, JOURNALIST i don't
care how much money they. Spent it doesn't have any
impact on me at. All it doesn't have any impact
on the. Competition once they get on the, floor they're
(01:14:22):
either good or they're. Not the money, THING i JUST
i don't get. IT i don't understand why so many
people in my business made that an issue On Tuesday.
Night it's. Inconsequential They're, Kentucky Michigan State's Michigan, state That
Michigan state does it, differently, whatever and AND i you,
know if that's what works For Tom, good it hasn't.
(01:14:46):
Worked speaking of The Big, east it hasn't worked At
marquette to completely or mostly avoid the. Portal it's not
been working for there to. Date SO i DON'T i
don't look at this as as a battle between good
and not. Good you're this is the world we live in,
now and the portal is a. Thing and how you
(01:15:09):
build your, roster uh is up to. You and SO
i look At kentucky and AND i don't get upset
that they spent all that. Money AND i also have
to factor in the fact that their their, court their
their their point guard is barely. Played and when he
played Against, louisville he was not. Himself, uh they're having
(01:15:30):
to try to adjust on the fly To Denzel aberdeen
being their full time point guard. Now and and he's
had good moments and not so good. Moments it's not
really what he's been in his. Career he played about
eve probably about eight minutes a game there last year
when he was At, florida and when the bigger game has,
arrived it was a lot less than. That, Uh so you,
(01:15:53):
KNOW i think he's got a lot to learn.
Speaker 2 (01:15:54):
There.
Speaker 12 (01:15:55):
Uh, now what happened On tuesday night that was Bothersome
and what What mark needs to get straightened out is
the number of times that their defensive assignments. Lapsed there
was a lot of open guys and a lot of bad,
rotation and a lot of guys that kind of weren't
really focused on that end of the. Floor and that,
(01:16:17):
again that can't. Persist there has to be a, like
okay if you.
Speaker 17 (01:16:20):
Go below this.
Speaker 12 (01:16:21):
Line And Brandon, garrison who was a really good backup
defender last, year was guilty on a few of the
Ones i'm talking, about like like Mal moreno can have
all your minutes if you're not going to do those.
Things That's those are the things THAT i Think mark
has been at in practice the last couple of. Days
(01:16:41):
Just i'm just projecting. That it's just knowing he's a
great coach and knowing what the problems were THAT i
WOULD i would be sure that that would be something
that he would have addressed in the last few days
and we'll see where it goes from. There BUT i
don't understand why we're supposed to believe that because they
played games so far that the season is. OVER i,
(01:17:05):
mean this Is, november. Guys it's been two and two
and zero point two five weeks that we've been.
Speaker 11 (01:17:12):
Playing there's a long way to go and.
Speaker 3 (01:17:15):
Real, quick how much do you like this freshman? Class
seems like there's e lead talent at the. Top there's
a lot more depth THAN i think we've seen in
a long. Time like it's a really fun.
Speaker 2 (01:17:25):
Group oh.
Speaker 12 (01:17:26):
YEAH i mean when WHEN i was watching the other
night Against, auburn The houston, game and like we all
know About senac and how you know the player he
is and all, that But fleming came off the, bench
well not off the, bench but out of sort of
out of the blue for a lot of. US i,
(01:17:47):
MEAN i think he was twentieth in the.
Speaker 11 (01:17:48):
Class, yeah and you're.
Speaker 12 (01:17:50):
Like and he was the best player on the. FLOOR
i MEAN i Watched Hot pettiford from a similar ranking.
Range really or last year For auburn was a huge
part of why they were, great but not as big
a part As fleming might be for For. Houston he
may be the difference between them winning the national championship and.
Speaker 3 (01:18:12):
NOT i, SAID i think he's the best, guard potentially
the best Guard kelvin's.
Speaker 2 (01:18:17):
Hand, yeah it's.
Speaker 12 (01:18:19):
FAIR i, mean obviously.
Speaker 3 (01:18:21):
He's got ways to, go but he's he's got that
type of.
Speaker 12 (01:18:23):
Upside, yeah in terms of pure. TALENT i think that's absolutely.
Fair and you, know and And kelvin coaching him can't
do much better than. THAT i think he's got a
great future because he chose wisely and where to go to.
SCHOOL i HAVE i Respect kelvin as much as anybody
in the. Business he does a tremendous. Job and and
(01:18:43):
and that's WHAT i was, saying is that that's an
example of what is out. There in addition to all
the obvious guys that we knew about coming. In, Uh
caroline has got, One kansas has got, One duke's got multiple.
Eras there are tremendous young talents all. Over, honestly for,
(01:19:04):
me the question is, like, okay so how far do
we have to go back before we had a class like?
This AND i think you gotta go back.
Speaker 2 (01:19:11):
AWAYS i.
Speaker 3 (01:19:12):
AGREE i, Agree. Mike it's been great catching. Up it
has been too. Long are you coming in?
Speaker 12 (01:19:17):
TOMORROW i am not, NO i am not, sorry said,
yeah all, Right i'd love To i'd love to love
to see. You hope everything as well it, is uh and,
uh And i'll get down.
Speaker 3 (01:19:29):
There one of these, days all, right shootout maybe for
old time's, sake BUT i won't be. THERE i don't
go into they don't invite me into that. Place Thanks,
Mike talk, soon all, right you?
Speaker 12 (01:19:40):

Insider Football show On SIRIUS Xm fantasy and uh he
is our go to guy for many many years in
the fantasy football. World, dan how's it, going my?
Speaker 17 (01:21:30):
Brother, oh just telling care. Man we've got lots of
things to be thankful for abound. Here maybe not as
far as bangle, bins but certainly some. Football, dude we
got some good football on test This weekend's that's what
we love to.
Speaker 3 (01:21:46):
Say what's your? Comfortability and potentially Starting Joe burrow On,
Sunday let's get right.
Speaker 17 (01:21:53):
To The bengals in your fantasy.
Speaker 3 (01:21:56):
Team you're the fantasy, guy do you Say Joe?
Speaker 17 (01:22:00):
Burrow continue to, say, DUDE i, mean as bad as
The bengals have, been the fantasy parts of, it Unless
Jake browning's under center.
Speaker 5 (01:22:07):
Is still very.
Speaker 17 (01:22:07):
Good so If burrow is out there and whenever he
RETURNS i, Mean i'm kind of viewing pretty.
Speaker 2 (01:22:12):
Favorably but we'll. See we'll, see.
Speaker 17 (01:22:15):
DUDE i, MEAN i want him to be, healthy and
if he, is you, KNOW i think fantasy, Managers i'll say, this,
dude if he's out there in your fantasy, league you
need a, Quarterback i'd scoop him up because he'd probably
come back sooner rather than.
Speaker 3 (01:22:26):
LATER i mean's he was listed as full participant. Today
flacco again. Limited all signs are kind of pointing To
Joe burrow playing On. Sunday, uh What Joe burrow is
Not he's not a rising. Rookie but you've been, Patient,
dan you drafted a young, Guy you've been patient throughout the.
(01:22:47):
Year you're hoping that they make a difference late in the.
Season who are those?
Speaker 5 (01:22:52):
Guys, yeah you're right on the, head.
Speaker 17 (01:22:55):
Dude In, august everybody loves their rookies and they cut
them and somebody else enjoys their late season. Success and
that's what's happening in a lot of. Cases and she
had a perfect example of That's Trevion anderson Are wentwoods ON,
nye the highest date grad. There over the last two,
weeks he's turned thirty, nine touches in the two hundred.
Speaker 5 (01:23:12):
And forty three total yards in five.
Speaker 17 (01:23:13):
Touchdowns that's sixty point three POINT ppr, points huge fantasy.
Wins problem is he didn't do next to. Nothing we'll
see it For Andre stevenson's able to come, back but either,
way he's a guy that could be a.
Speaker 5 (01:23:24):
League winner down the.
Speaker 17 (01:23:25):
Stretch really love What i'm seeing from what he marks
season high seventy four percent running back share in week
ten what He mark's faulwed that up with eighty six
running back per share last. Week the, numbers, yeah they
weren't as, great but he's getting the carries and as you,
know you got to have attempts and touches to get fantasy.
POINTS i love What ted McMillan's. JOINING i loved him coming.
Out didn't love the landing spot In. Carolina over the
first seven games, though it's about a twenty five percent
(01:23:47):
target share per game rate that's gone up to thirty
four percent over his last four and last week we
saw a career best twelve, targets height, catches one hundred
and thirty, yards two. Touchdowns he said DOUBLE digitalvpr points
six of his last day games and one of my
favorite rookie down the, Stretch luther Burd ralph participation rate
is going. Up we know it was sixty one percent
season high last week twenty. Two Rousey van perfect the
(01:24:09):
seventh For Almeya Zach keith who has been eating in.
There And i'll tell you WHAT i think burden could
be end a guy that's getting into flex. Conversations we
get Into, december.
Speaker 3 (01:24:20):
Let's get Into we've got a couple of four teams
on a buy this, week and between The Jamar chase
suspension and it being week, twelve there's a lot of
injuries to.
Speaker 17 (01:24:31):
Discuss, yeah the great news about buys after this week's
four or there's four more teams the week After. Thanksgiving
there are no advise week Of, thanksgiving so we're almost past.
That you mentioned, this The chase. SUSPENSION i know the
quarterback question still there at but whether It's Joe, Blanco Joe,
burrow you would expect T higgins now to move into
probably that top fifteen, range ALTHOUGH i think With Christian
(01:24:54):
goins a hellas matched up at, him maybe as not as,
lucrative but definitely not going to shy away from the
other bank those than you. Play but the bigger receiver.
Speaker 5 (01:25:02):
Problem is In, Drake.
Speaker 17 (01:25:03):
London he's dealing with the multi multi WEEK pcl knee issue.
Here we don't know what his status looks. Like he's
probably not going to. Play definitely not gonna play this,
week probably not next, week so we'll keep our eyes on.
That Marvin Harrison, junior he missed last week with the appendix.
Issue he's fighting his way. Back we'll see how he
proceeds through the. WEEK i am Expecting Brian Thomas junior to,
(01:25:25):
return he was limited all of last. Week getting a
little closer. Here The jags top wide out. There Josh
jacobs a multi week issue with his. Knee Emmanuel wilson
broke the fab budgets this. Week he's likely to be
the next man up Should jacobs be. Out but ALTHOUGH
i don't think it's a long term issue, here so
don't give up On Jacob's Bucky, irving they keep toying
(01:25:46):
with us with his shoulder. Issue he has been. Practicing
he would practice again On, thursday but until we see
it entered with caution, HERE i wouldn't be surprised to
give him one more. Week The bucks definitely on him
for the long. Run Romandre stevenson if he can come
back from this tow. Issue, uh you, Know Travion henderson
maybe lose it a little of his LOST i still
(01:26:08):
like him in The bengal, matchup but we're more interested
In stevenson From Dingen henderson's value than actually what his
fantasy value would. Be Jalen, warren he got hurt last
week versus The, bengals but you, know once they went
up a couple of, scores he could have came. Back
or why bother When Kenny gamwell could rip you for
look Like Walter payton against but?
Speaker 5 (01:26:28):
Defense, YEAH i.
Speaker 17 (01:26:29):
Mean why Bring Jalen warren? Back they could have started
anybody for seven yards and carry versus that.
Speaker 5 (01:26:34):
Defense the.
Speaker 17 (01:26:37):
More fantasy, points five more fantasy points the game to running,
backs four more points fantasy points per, game the tight,
ends and then the second worst team in the. League so,
Uh But Jalen, warren he's practicing two straight. DAYS i
think he's going to be a. Go i'll be limited
still AN rb. TOO i don't know About Rotten Aaron
rodgers with his hand once he A Mason rudolph gets
the nod.
Speaker 12 (01:26:55):
Versus The, BEARS i do Expect.
Speaker 17 (01:26:56):
Jackson start to clear concussion protocol if he hasn't, ALREADY
Cej drab will played at night because of a can
cush on, Dude Buzzkill city For michael panic chanor third
A CL's. Brand this isn't just a season. Under you've
got to start. Question is this a career ending in
three or one that really shakes for the long term?
Future this former number one over number eight overall pick.
Speaker 3 (01:27:14):
For The Falcon all, right let's get it with, studs
duds and sleepers for week.
Speaker 5 (01:27:18):
Twelve.
Speaker 17 (01:27:20):
Yeah, Well i've been picking on The bengals so MUCH
i Thought i'd actually feature A bengal here in the
stud commons and rightfully, Said Chase brown's done jobs in fantasy.
Recently here samaj P ryan, sideline we see En up
picking work loud eighty five percent of the running back
rush here per game twenty five eight point percent of
the target. Share that's NINETEEN ppr points each of these
last few. Weeks, now With chase, suspended you would think
(01:27:41):
you'd have to be even a bigger Focal coinia's game flow.
Agnostics So Chase BROWN rb twelve on my board this.
Week absolutely a start in all Formats my stud of
the week, though is trading for. Right he might be
the stud of the, season and the tight end one
has really been connected.
Speaker 12 (01:27:55):
With chakobe per.
Speaker 17 (01:27:56):
Said jacoby Were set in six games has thrown five
touchdowns to trademc For in fifty four games With Alcha
philby set mostly With Kyler, murray had seven. TOUCHDOWNS i,
mean that's remarkable to. Me he's every seing the tenth
most fantasy points per game for a tight end as
the twenty first. Century that's how special it's been in
only The bengals have allowed more fantasy points the tight
(01:28:17):
ends and The jaguars opponents this, week SO i think
the trend continue on the dud. Side i'm going to
Assist Daniel jones this.
Speaker 5 (01:28:23):
WEEK i love the.
Speaker 17 (01:28:24):
Story he's STILL qb five on the, season but over
the last two games he's turning twice as many interceptions as.
Touchdowns seven of the past ten quarterbacks to face The
chiefs have failed to reach twenty fantasy. POINTS i don't
Think jones gets there this. Week that's why he's outside
my top twelve. Tyrone Tracy mccamp'scadedy went down for the
season In New. York many fantasy managers went heavy On Tyrone.
TRACY a really showed glimpses of it last, week had
(01:28:45):
a huge, game but this week he's facing that lion
to P they're giving up the fewest fantasy points the
game running. Backs he split goal line touches With Devin.
Singletary Tyrone tracy not a top thirty running back for
me and my sleepers of the. WEEK i Like Christian.
Watson the matchup isn't, great but he's passing the eyeball.
Test my biggest concerns, volume no more than five jargets
an he's by a. Game AS i Mentioned Josh jacobs,
(01:29:05):
OUT i think The packers are going to throw a
little bit more AND i think that Has hi hitting a.
STREAD i got into twenty six on my receiver, board
which is a stellar wide receiver three flex. Option and,
Finally Mason. Taylor this is more of a hunt play than.
Anything they did change, quarterbacks justin fields is. Gone they
actually have a quarterback that can throw the football at
least a little bit In Tyrod, taylor but they don't
have any. Receivers they traded them all they're, Hurt so
(01:29:27):
who else you're you gonna throw the ball. TOO i
like the rookie tight end to get a least five
catch if he's a big time sleeper for me this, Week.
Speaker 3 (01:29:32):
Jed all, right and you've got some people that are
falling out of those contention in their season long. Leagues
they're not going to make the. Playoffs they're not a.
Threat so tell us About Do Good Fantasy Salary Cap.
Speaker 5 (01:29:44):
Challenge, yeah we've been.
Speaker 17 (01:29:46):
Talking about it all, year but now it's the best.
Time while we dropped a minimum donation On Veteran's day
from thirty to twenty, DOLLARS i get see a chance
to take a lineup each. Week there's still plenty of weeks.
Left he goes all the way through week.
Speaker 11 (01:29:55):
Eighteen and to Do.
Speaker 17 (01:29:56):
Get Salary Cap, challenge it's a season pass you play every.
Week we got more than three thousand dollars in prizes
from the biggest names in fantasy, sports and it all
goes to help.
Speaker 5 (01:30:05):
Dab Disabled american.
Speaker 17 (01:30:06):
Veterans we help a million veterans here like changing way
through pre programs and. Services so play when get, back
go To Do Good fantasy dot com to learn all about.
Speaker 3 (01:30:14):
It all, right appreciate, it, man have a great, weekend
and we'll talk to you next.
Speaker 17 (01:30:18):
Week All, wes good catching, up have a Great Thank Javin,
chad talk to.
Speaker 5 (01:30:21):
You sing. Brother all, right there you.
Speaker 3 (01:30:23):

Speaker 3 (01:31:06):

(01:31:27):
Three The Mowaga Radio. SHOW i am Not. Mowagar Chad
brenda filling in. Today i'll be Back, wednesday well day
Before thanksgiving. Show thank you for choosing. Me glad to
(01:31:49):
get to in the last. Hour it's been a heavy
guest show. Today we got one more coming up an
hour number. Three Jay morrison with all the happenings from
down at Pay Course stadium, today Including Joe burrow full
participant in. Practice like it or, not it certainly feels
(01:32:14):
like all signs are pointing To Joe burrow quarterbacking The
Cincinnati bengals On. Sunday, INITIALLY i was against, it not gonna. Lie,
initially it's, like what do we do we really do
(01:32:37):
we really need to do this for the last seven
games with a team that's essentially no longer in the playoff.
Hunt you, know maybe if they win against The steelers last,
week you're one game, out you can talk yourself into.
IT i don't know that any bodies talking themselves into
(01:33:03):
The bengals in the playoffs in twenty twenty. Five and
it has nothing to do With Joe, Flacco Joe, Burrow Jamar.
Chase it's because this defense, stinks stinks out. Loud they
are in position to go down as the worst defense
in the history of THE. Nfl and that's without playing
(01:33:30):
the best teams on their schedule to. Date you Get New,
england who maybe has the front runner FOR. Mvp In
drake may Get baltimore a couple of, times you Get
buffalo like this could get significantly worse for The cincinnati.
(01:33:50):
Defense so from that, standpoint my initial reaction is. Why
but here's the. Reality you're Paying Joe burrow hundreds of
millions of dollars to be the, quarterback to be the,
franchise to be the guy In. Cincinnati if he's one hundred,
(01:34:14):
percent and you would have to assume he's ahead of.
Schedule he's been practicing in full the past couple. Days
Joe burrow is gonna play, now maybe maybe you. Can
you can very easily take the stance That Joe burrow
(01:34:35):
shouldn't be playing.
Speaker 13 (01:34:38):
This.
Speaker 3 (01:34:38):
Week he just came, back he's not in rhythm. Yet
Jamar chase is not available because of the, suspension and
you play On thursday Against baltimore in the night game On.
Thanksgiving so you're gonna be Asking Joe burrow to come
back play one of the hot teams in THE nfl
(01:35:03):
and then turn around on short rest four days later
and play a division. Rival that argument can easily be,
made but you also have to come to the reservation
that it's illogical For Joe burrow to be at one hundred, percent, which,
(01:35:29):
again we're going to safely assume that he is one
hundred percent and that there's no way The bengals are
pushing this thing when he's not. Ready he's gonna, Play
he's gonna be out there at some point in time
over these final seven. Games you are not paying him
(01:35:54):
that much money to be healthy and. Watch she's not gonna.
Happen so you have to come to grips with the
facts That Joe burrow is going to be back out
on the field for The Cincinnati. Bengals what does that necessarily.
(01:36:15):
MEAN i don't know what it means for the rest
of this. Season are you putting him at risk for
something to happen that alters the path to him being
ready at the start of the twenty twenty sixth. Season,
sure that risk is, There BUT i think As i've
(01:36:40):
come to grips with, THIS i think this could very
well be an important stretch For Joe burrow BECAUSE i
think we're going to learn What Joe burrow learned as
he sat out over these past couple. Months did he
(01:37:02):
learn that the way quarterback is being played in THE
nfl right?
Speaker 2 (01:37:07):
Now is.
Speaker 3 (01:37:08):
Changing there's a lot more under, center And cincinnati showed
With Joe flacco playing under, center how much that impacted
the run, game how much that impacted this team's ability
(01:37:28):
to be more, diverse to be multiple on, offense which
in turn creates heavier, boxes Gives joe more of a
chance to spread the ball around in the passing, game
and opens up a side of the playbook that really
(01:37:55):
we haven't seen much of Since Joe burrow has been
the starting quarterback for this And Snati. Bengals look three
four years, ago everybody was in, shotgun everybody was spreading it,
out everybody was putting pressure on. Defenses but as is
always the, case defenses are going to. Adjust they're going
(01:38:18):
to adjust how they, Draft they're going to adjust how
their team is. Built and when you do, that then
there has to be a counter, adjustment that counter. Adjustment
this year across THE nfl has been more under, center
has been more focusing on the run. Game, again copycat, league,
(01:38:40):
right what happened with The Philadelphia eagles last. Year and
Granted Saquon barkley's, fantastic but when a team goes out
and has a guy that runs ramos two thousand yards
and wins The Super. Bowl everybody around the league is
going to, say, look you know, what maybe defense defenses
(01:39:01):
have gotten a little, smaller a little less emphasis on,
power a little more emphasis on, speed a little lighter
even when there are numbers in the, box a little
lighter and more susceptible to an effective run. Game because
(01:39:23):
in some, WAYS i refuse to believe The bengals have
tried aggressively to address the offensive. Line they've used premium draft,
picks they've gone, out and they've paid for free. Agents
(01:39:45):
none of that has really. Worked When Joe burrow has
been behind, center he's getting hit a, Ton he's under
a lot of. Pressure he's trying to scramble for his
life to make a. Play maybe some of the reason
(01:40:05):
that what they've done along the offensive line doesn't work
is because the Way Joe burrow wants to, play the
Way Joe burrow feels like he is most, effective has
caused problems along the offensive. Line it has stunted the run,
game and it has Put Joe burrow in a more
(01:40:28):
likely position to be. Injured so hopefully over these next
couple of, weeks we can potentially see a Different Joe.
Burrow we can potentially see a guy that's seeing the
game a little different after watching a, veteran a guy
(01:40:52):
with A Super bowl, ring a guy that has been
as successful As Joe flacco get different results from the
same group and still be one of the best offenses
in THE. Nfl and if that's what we get out
of these last seven weeks Of Joe burrow or six
weeks or whatever it is when he comes, back that
(01:41:15):
can be a really good thing for twenty twenty. Six
now he's not going to play linebacker or, safety they'd
probably have less. Mistackles SO i don't know how much
it's going to, change but in terms of How Joe
(01:41:36):
burrow plays, offense how This bengals team plays, offense there's
an opportunity here over these last two months to get
better for the. Future all, right let's take a. Break
we've Got Jay morrison coming up. Next CINCINNATI'S espn fifteen.
Speaker 6 (01:41:55):
Thirty CINCINNATI'S espn fifteen. Thirty traffic from.
Speaker 8 (01:42:01):

ON espn fifteen thirty to the official home of The Cincinnati.
Speaker 3 (01:42:44):
Bengals all, right let's keep it. Rolling this this Is
joe theme. Song well he won't be so. Yeah let's
(01:43:11):
go to our, Guy Jay, morrison who has been down
at Tay Course stadium today as the events have. Unfolded
Joe burrow full participant in. Practice, Jay if you were
making the odds On Joe burrow being the Starter sunday
at one, o'clock what would those odds be at right?
Speaker 5 (01:43:31):
Now it's.
Speaker 13 (01:43:34):
TOUGH i mean a lot higher than they were, yesterday
and a hell of a lot higher than they were On.
Tuesday it just seems, that you, know the closer we,
get the more and. More it sounds like it's gonna.
Happen AND i don't think it's one related To. JOE
i think the Other joe has. Something you, know he
took that shot from from T. J, Watt and, yeah
(01:43:56):
we don't know how sore he's.
Speaker 5 (01:43:58):
Feeling he was.
Speaker 13 (01:43:59):
Feeling he's a lot of paying wing in That bears,
game and he has a career game he gets to.
Buy you, know he's feeling pretty. Good i'm sure that
that re injured at that shot FROM.
Speaker 5 (01:44:08):
Tj.
Speaker 13 (01:44:08):
Watt and IT'S i think, that more than, anything really
is kind of speeding up this.
Speaker 5 (01:44:14):
Timeline and they know it's go. TIME i, mean they've
got to. Win they almost have to win out to
have any.
Speaker 13 (01:44:19):
Shot AND i think everybody Realizes burrow gives them the
best shot as well As black has. Played SO i
do each each, day each PERSON i talk, TO i
get a little more convinced that this is gonna happen On.
Speaker 3 (01:44:31):
Sunday are you uncomfortable at all knowing that The ravens
are sitting there On? Thursdays so If burrow Returns, sunday
he's right back out there four days later against the
divisional rival you're. Playing you Know New england's one of
the best teams in THE. Nfl baltimore has turned it
(01:44:52):
around since The Lamar jackson and. Injury do you look
at this and, go maybe it would be better to
hold him To thursday day or look jose on or
as close to one hundred percent as he's gonna get
it's time to.
Speaker 13 (01:45:04):
ROLL i think we have to wait and see How
sunday plays out to really determine.
Speaker 5 (01:45:10):
THAT i, mean if he's running for.
Speaker 13 (01:45:12):
His life against The patriots and taking, HITS i think
you reconsider.
Speaker 5 (01:45:17):
It but if he's if.
Speaker 13 (01:45:18):
He's sitting back there in the pocket and getting the
ball out the Way flacco was fast and not really
being stressed and not, putting not having to cut and
plan a lot on that, FOOT i don't think it's
a big. Deal being four days later it's gonna. BE i,
mean they're basically gonna have a walkthrough On. Tuesday there's
there's not going to be a lot of work being
done in between the two, games.
Speaker 5 (01:45:38):
And so, YEAH i think.
Speaker 13 (01:45:39):
THIS i, mean once he's out, THERE i think it's
full speed. Ahead and it's the same. THING i, mean
what happens if they If burrow plays.
Speaker 5 (01:45:48):
And they lose To New, england then you, know really.
Speaker 13 (01:45:52):
It's it becomes a, long, long long shotter then get the.
Playoffs but you Know Ted carris was talking about Today Orlando,
Brown Joe burrow does not.
Speaker 5 (01:46:00):
At all what the team's record. Is he wants to
be out.
Speaker 13 (01:46:02):
There they see the fire in his. Eye he looks
the way he's throwing the. Ball he looks like he
did coming out of training. CAMP i, MEAN i think
it's once he's ready and, cleared it's gonna be really
hard to keep him off the.
Speaker 3 (01:46:14):
Field do you think he has Watched Joe flacco and
maybe adjusted his thinking on the best way to play
quarterback in twenty twenty. Five we've seen under, Center we've
seen the run game open, up we've seen play. Action
joe wants to be in. Shotgun but do you think
(01:46:35):
maybe there's been an evolution as he has watched over
the past couple.
Speaker 13 (01:46:39):
Weeks, YEAH i, mean it would be hard not To
whether he's willing to lean into that and be more
open to, It we'll. SEE i don't think it's gonna
change the way he approaches playing quarterback on his, own you,
know with he's just so good at extending plays and you,
(01:47:01):
know holding onto the ball to the last, second and
that's Not. Flaco flaco is not very mobile and he
is all about getting the ball out. Instantly AND i
don't know that we're going to see that kind of
pivot From, joe but he would be wise to look
at what this offense has done with the under center.
Stuff and it's not like you have to flip it
and just be an all under center, team but just
lean into it a little bit. More but, again it's,
(01:47:24):
like you, know a couple of years ago at the,
calf they were going to do, that they were going
to go to more under. Center he was willing to do,
that and then it didn't make sense with the calf
doing all that kind of. Backpedaling and maybe it's kind
of similar with the foot where they don't want him
to have to take any more steps than, necessary where
if you catch it in the, shotgun you just kind
of hitch and.
Speaker 3 (01:47:43):
Throw is it hard not to look at it and,
go it's going to protect him more if he's doing
some of that. Stuff because the line has looked they
haven't been, Great like it's not like you've been one
of the NFL's best lines Since burrow got. Hurt but
through the flat period of this, season they've looked. Competent
(01:48:04):
at least it. DIDN'T i, mean there were times through
the first couple of weeks of the season that it
just looked like a constant jail break to the. Quarterback
it looks like they've found some footing. Here, YEAH i
mean you think.
Speaker 13 (01:48:17):
BACK i can't remember which game Was minnesota maybe Where
Chas broun had ten perriers for three, Yards and, YEAH
i mean it is if you can run the ball
the way they've been doing. IT i, mean ninety nine
yards Against. Pittsburgh you just don't see.
Speaker 10 (01:48:28):
That a lot in this, series and you keep the defense.
Speaker 13 (01:48:32):
More honest and they can't tee off on you the
way the way that they have. Been and even with you,
Know Chase brown having ninety nine yards Against, pittsburgh it's
still that game got away from in the second half
with the turnovers and the defense That pittsburgh gecins who
was able to tee. Off but, YEAH i think doing
that it all leads to that it makes it easier
(01:48:55):
for the offensive lineman and it just puts more doubt
and the defense's. Mine and, again you don't have to
do it every, snap but just you, know maybe ten
more under center snaps a game is enough to make a.
Speaker 3 (01:49:06):
Difference does any of this? Matter we're talking about maybe
the worst defense in the history of THE, nfl and
that is having not played the toughest part of the,
schedule with potentially the best offenses still remaining over the
next couple of, Weeks like is it all deck chairs
on The titanic if this defense doesn't figure out a
(01:49:28):
way to be something less than an, absolute unmitigated.
Speaker 13 (01:49:33):
Disaster and it feels like, that but, they you, know
there's still a lot of young guys out, there and
they they as crazy as it, sounds they are seeing
individual improvement from, guys not, crazy but day to day,
improvement and they still have. Belief and it's the, veterans you,
(01:49:54):
know the guys that they kind of know what they
are at this. Point you, KNOW Dj, Hill, genostone EVEN.
Tj slayton hasn't been, great but you hang your hat.
On look At Miles murphy's that maybe the two best
games of his career in the last two, weeks so
maybe light's going on for.
Speaker 2 (01:50:09):
Him AND.
Speaker 13 (01:50:10):
Josepho sides played pretty, well and those young linebackers can't
get any, worse so you're hoping that the light kind
of goes on for. Them that happens a lot with,
rookies where it's about this time midway three quarters of
the way through that, season the game slows. Down so you,
KNOW i get where the team is coming, from where
they think that this can still kind of settle in
(01:50:31):
some on, Defense BUT i just don't see.
Speaker 5 (01:50:34):
IT i have no faith at all that this defense
can be.
Speaker 13 (01:50:37):
Much better and can stop giving up twenty seven points a,
game which they have in nine.
Speaker 3 (01:50:43):
Straight you say it can't get any worse for those rookie.
Linebackers hopefully they don't take that as a, challenge.
Speaker 2 (01:50:54):
And that's the.
Speaker 13 (01:50:55):
THING i don't think they, would because they they.
Speaker 5 (01:50:58):
Are about the.
Speaker 13 (01:50:59):
Right stuff means a lot to, them and they they
they get a lot of tough questions after every game
and the LOCK i just came out with the locker
room a little bit, ago and they stand there and
they answer, them and it's not cliche, stuff like there's
deep introspective thoughts coming out of those guys'. Minds you
can you can just see how much they want and
how much it means to. Them so whether they have
(01:51:20):
the ability or, not we'll have to find. Out but
whether they have the desire and the work ethic and
and those, INTANGIBLES i think that's. There and so it's
going to be on this coaching staff to kind of
bring them on and develop. Them and and that's not
something this organization is excelled at the last five.
Speaker 3 (01:51:38):
Years you have three guys that lead the league in
mistackles and a fourth guy that is trying to join
them at the top of the. List i've never seen
anything like, this and it's And, jay it's not just
simply like they're. Tackling you, know their technique is, bad
or their angles are, bad or name any of the
(01:52:02):
things that go into. Tackling it feels like it's all of.
Them like if you watch a tape of every, game it's, like,
oh that's one, thing that's, another that's, another that's. Another
like it's just been a.
Speaker 13 (01:52:14):
Disaster, yeah there's been some effort and want to, issues
and that's the most damning. Part you can kind of
get bad technique out of guys and those type of.
Things but you, know the genostone attempt On Darnel washington
along the sideline that's just that's the kind of play
that gets most people benched and not maybe not if
(01:52:37):
it's a one, off but we've seen it over and over.
Speaker 5 (01:52:40):
Again it is really.
Speaker 13 (01:52:41):
Interesting everybody's focused On Joe burrow his window, opening But Dejon,
anthony last year's seventh round pick. Safety you, know they
opened his practice window On monday, Too AND i don't
know that they're ready to make a switch at safety this.
Week but it felt like it was never going to,
happen and now it feels like it. Might and even
after The games, Day zach said he did not anticipate
(01:53:03):
any personnel changes on, defense and then when we talked
to him On, wednesday it was we'll see how we
go through the. Week SO i think there are considerations
of some personnel. Changes you almost have to make some
sort of. Changer If Tyson anderson has barely played on,
defense he's an excellent tackler on special, TEAMS i don't
know what it would hurt to put him in, there
(01:53:23):
even if he not ideal and diagnosing coverages and stuff.
Speaker 5 (01:53:27):
It it can't get any worse Than Geno.
Speaker 3 (01:53:30):
Jay appreciate, it, Man how can everybody find?
Speaker 12 (01:53:31):

definitely have the east west of. Rivle, well, SHOOT i
guess they both will because the technically west since they're
both technical west of seventy five the center right. Splitterings,
(01:58:06):
yeah BUT i, mean, shoot that's that's definitely gonna be
a NICE gcl, battle, man even though they've jacked up
that league by some teams going, old like My Roger Bacon.
Spartans BUT i won't hop on that soap box.
Speaker 2 (01:58:18):
Today.
Speaker 10 (01:58:19):
Man all, right this This bengals Team chad is extremely
for a. STRAIN i had the unfortunate opportunity to be
down there when they got malled by a baron From,
chicago and first, HAND i got to hear my wife
and her parents year great complain when they got the
(01:58:41):
on side kick and scored the. Touchdown and of, COURSE
i MEAN i don't necessarily glow the whole buy into
taco whole brunch unnecessary. Trash BUT i mean it's, like,
man as a, fan that to me right before having
to go further in this season kind of about snatched
what hope are lot of making the season be worth
(01:59:02):
something away and then it's like to really get it washed.
Away when you come back out of a buye like they,
did it's like, okay bye bye.
Speaker 11 (01:59:11):
Bye, Yeah but.
Speaker 10 (01:59:18):
That's what we're edit. For i've got family members that
have switched a legiance of. TEAMS i got Some browns
fan family member that's said he and his wife were
looking for another team to cheer. FOR i, mean it's
it's pretty funny and. Ridiculous but sports of, SPORTS i
(01:59:41):
mean you're gonna have typical cycles of teams being successful
or being. GARBAGE i, mean it's not like we Get
madden and we can just put it All madden team together.
Speaker 3 (01:59:51):
OR i, mean it'd be nice if put at least be,
competent putting a team, together that would that would.
Speaker 10 (01:59:57):
Help all, right we love to see that for The
angles and A, RED.
Speaker 4 (02:00:04):
I, guess but it would be, nice.
Speaker 10 (02:00:06):
True, true, True BUT i mean like with The, RIDS
i mean they managed to flip flop and find themselves
into the playoffs this. Year you know they got. SWEPT
i Mean i'll take that at some level of. Growth
hopefully maybe next Year hunter can bring green pastures and
continue to, progress and some of the other guys on
(02:00:28):
the pitch and staff and continue to. Progress AND i mean.
Speaker 2 (02:00:34):
We had some.
Speaker 10 (02:00:34):

(02:01:25):

Speaker 11 (02:01:57):
Defeats T Tu are they The are they in the championship?
Speaker 10 (02:02:02):
Game then.
Speaker 3 (02:02:02):
No their chance to get there without any tie breakers
was to win the last three they lost last, Week
so if they were to win the next, two they
would be probably in a group of teams that have
two losses right, Now, Utah Arizona, State, houston And cincinnati
(02:02:28):
all have two. LOSSES byu has, One Texas tech has.
One so If cincinnati BEATS, byu they fall into that
group of two loss. Teams and then we'll see how
the last two weeks play out to see who ends
up in the tie breaker at the end of the.
Speaker 5 (02:02:45):
Year so it's a real Mass, oh it could be a.
Speaker 3 (02:02:49):
Disaster, yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:02:53):
All, right well he.
Speaker 20 (02:02:56):
Is as far As burrough, playing there's no question about.
It you, know the The bengals hierarchy are not paying
a guy that much money to be sitting around and
in terms of him potentially getting hurt, again obviously they
don't want. That but you, know in terms of in
(02:03:19):
terms of him being on the field every second he
could be out, there they're Gonna they're gonna have.
Speaker 3 (02:03:24):
Him you need him out, there you have. To if
