Five o five as dot KRC thetalk station. Happy mondays, the song's
becoming more and more prophetic every day. What happens showing it up quite nicely,

(00:33):
Joe Streker, Executive Reducer. Iappreciate that. In soundbites, Brian
Thomas here, happy to be here, honestly in spite of the fact that
the world seems becoming unhinged. Ofcourse, we've got a lot to talk
about today. Your reactions to theintempted assassination at Donald Trump are quite welcome
here. I've won three seven, four, eight hundred and eighty two to
three talko with pound five fifty onAT and T phones. Let us see

(00:56):
here coming up with the fifty fivecare see morning show. It's Monday,
so we're gonna hear from Christopher Smithand in our Happy Birthday. His birthday
is tomorrow at least to have anonl calendar as tomorrow, so presumably he
is going to react to or atleast have something to say the efforts to
kill Donald Trump. A lot ofmystery swirling around that one, A lot
of mystery and a whole lot ofconspiracy theories coming out of the woodwork from

(01:19):
the moment that shot rang out justunbelievable. At least the calls for calm
are coming up from both parties andalmost uniform message of calm and you know,
back it off. Get the politicalrhetoric has gotten out of hand and
obviously at least it appears obvious, although there's really no indication as to who

(01:40):
this would be murderer is. Sotwenty year old kid stole his dad rifle,
ended up on top of a buildingwith Secret Service all over the place,
police everywhere, and a real wilddevelopment in terms of what we found
out about that. Apparently a copclimbed on top of the building. The
kid pointed the ar at the thecop, and the cop went down off

(02:00):
the ladder back down to the ground. That's when the kids started squeezing off
the rounds. What what. I'llgive you the details on that momentarily.
But Christopher Smith been at seven thirtythis Monday, so we're going to do
money Monday. The world goes on. We talked about futures being steadied,
billionaires and now endorsing Trump, includingElon Musk coming out swinging worries about outliving

(02:22):
retirement savings. That's legitimate concerns onan article about that retires with one million
dollars in savings, could run outof money, and depending upon which state
you live in, will determine howquickly you're going to run out of the
money. I talk about that ina little bit as well. And Amazon
Prime days, are they deals orsomething else? That's sound advice from Brian

(02:46):
James. Money Monday again eighth fivefor that. Claire Corkoran Claimont County Commissioner.
Corkran's in Milwaukee and she's going tobe giving us a report from Milwaukee
coming up at eight point forty.Looking forward to hearing from her. And
I know Andrew Pappas called the programlast week. He's going to be a
Milwaukee as well, so we're hopinghe will chime in with what's going on
there should be a completely different environment. A lot of what happened over the

(03:06):
weekend. UH Tomorrow, of course, we got the Bright Bart Inside Scoop
Deep Dive with Daniel Davis now againfive one three, seven four nine fifty
five hundred, eight hundred eight totwo three taco with pound five fifty on
AT and T phones and a realquick something positive in the face of all
the negative and craziness going on inthe world. If you didn't get to

(03:27):
hear my conversation with the Peyton's LemonadeStand, folks, what an amazing charity
that is. A six year oldgirl decided to do a lemonade stand back
in several years ago. And thisis the I believe seventh annual Peyton's Lemonade
Stand. Uh. She's already raiseda couple of hundred thousand dollars just with

(03:49):
you buying lemonade, and all theproceeds go to benefit like since our Children's
Hospital for the children go there toget them some needed things, the Ronald
McDonald House for families that are stayinghere locally when they don't have any place
to stay while their children get medicalcare of Children's among other charities. It's
just an amazing, amazing opportunity. And I predicted since they made one hundred

(04:11):
thousand dollars on a lemonade stand lastyear, let's see if we can get
it to two hundred thousand this year, all for something really, really good
and positive in a world that keepsit seems to be spiraling out of control.
Speaking of spiraling out of control, explain this one, will you?
And this has been widely reported varietyof places. New York Post is where

(04:32):
I got most of the information. There was a local police officer that spotted
this Thomas Crooks would be assassined justprior to him squeezing off the rounds.
I tried to go former President DonaldTrump and did successfully kill an innocent bystander
in the audience, as well aswounding two others who are now listed in

(04:53):
stable condition. By the way, update on the folks, they were in
critical condition. The two others thatgot shot, they are now listed in
stable condition. This police officer didn'tstop Thomas Crooks despite him being a clear
threat. He turned the rifle towardthe police officer checking out what in the

(05:15):
hell the kid was doing up ontop of the building. Apparently rally goers
spotted Crooks on the roof this manufacturingplant that was just one hundred and thirty
yards from the stage where Trump wasspeaking. And as someone who has shot
so called assault rivals, the modernsport rivals, I have shot those.
I can't I've lost track of howmany times I've shot those. And I

(05:36):
shoot at my pistol range and riflerange at two hundred yards all the time.
That is not a challenging shot,my friends, even for someone with
modest skills on a modern rifle, modern sporting rifle sometimes by the left referred

(05:56):
to as the assault rifle. That'san easy shot. Which really is why
everyone's screaming, where in the hellis a secret Service? And how in
the hell is it that that roofin that general area was not being watched?
And then we find out there wasa cop up there before before the
rounds got squeezed off, police werenotified that one officer had climbed the ladder

(06:23):
to investigate. This is after rallygovers were pointing at the guy on the
roof. They were waving a SecretService pointing on top of the roof.
Look, there's somebody up there witha kind of rifle. The officer whose
department had been enlisted by the SecretService, who does work with regularly.
It's been widely accounted in the papersthis morning, in the reports over the

(06:44):
weekend. Did they work with locallaw enforcement? Which makes perfect sense.
Secret Service comes in, they coordinateefforts local law enforcement. You guys are
responsible for this. That's the wayit's supposed to work. So local law
enforcement was there and they weren't engagedby the Secret Service. But when local
law enforcement encounters a rifleman on topof a roof one hundred and thirty yards
away from the stage where where DonaldTrump is speaking and doesn't do anything,

(07:08):
I think we have an epic failon our hands here, folks. Also
reportedly after he encountered crooks, Crookspoured the ar rifle at him, then
backed down the ladder, after whichCrooks immediately took aim and squeezed off eight
shots to the former president. Questionswirling around how this could possibly happen.

(07:35):
Former House Oversight Chairman chair Jason Chavickquote, this was a catastrophic failure.
It should have never been remotely possible. He led the twenty fifteen investigation in
the shooting of Secret Service in twentyfifteen, said we did all these investigations
and did an extensive report so thiswould never happen again. It's as if
they paid no attention to the bipartisanrecommendation. His report focus on the way

(08:01):
the Secret Service had been spread toothin. Secret Service did confirm that they
relied heavily on local police to helpsupport the security efforts at the rally.
Six officers from the Butler counting tacticalunits supporting the counter assault team that covered
Trump's EVA evacuation, which included twoofficers from the Secret Service. So the
Secret Service had two officers with thelocal law enforcement folks, also two Secret

(08:26):
Service sniper teams on site, andan additional two staffed with local law enforcement
officers. All well and good, they did squeeze off the rounds that ended
this miserable so and so's life. But where were they ahead of time?
Pennsylvania State to Lace Lieutenant Colonel GeorgeBivins, speaking with reporters, Hey,

(08:50):
Secret Service always has the lead onsecuring something like this. We work with
them to divide whatever is requested bythe Secret Service, But they're the lead
in that secure Does that mean locallaw enforcement is not capable of evaluating independently
the fact that there is a rooftopright there and that someone could easily squeeze
off around and kill someone from thatvantage point. Current House Oversight Committee Chairman

(09:20):
hains Comer he announced planned to callthe Secret Service Director Kimberle Cheadle for a
hearing on the twenty second. Othershave claimed Trump's team reportedly requested but was
denied, additional Secret Service support longbefore the shooting. Now, the Secret
Service denies that. Representative Anthony Googliami, writing on action response to the allegation

(09:43):
that they were denied additional protection, there is an untrue assertion that a member
of former president's team requested additional securityresources and that those were rebuffed. This
is absolutely false. Does that giveyou a sense of security at all?
No, He went on to say, we actually provided more protection that was
originally planned. Really nice job there, buddy. Imagine how badly this could

(10:07):
have gone if, in fact theyhadn't provided or beefed up. If their
allegations are true, they might noteven have got the kid. In fact,
he said, we added protective resourcesand technology and capabilities as part of
the increased campaign travel tempo. Youthink they have a drone flying around out

(10:30):
there, something along those lines.Former Secret Service agent speaking with the Washington
Post quote, how the f worddid he get a gun that close?
It's a good question. Secret Service, blaming local police, say it was

(10:54):
their job to secure that particular area. Residents in the area who lived close
to that factory where the kid wassaid, no one from the Secret Service
talk to any of us. Theydidn't come nor knocking on the doors.
They didn't post anybody in the area. One woman reportedly said, you know,
I kind of expected them to setup a base operation in my yard.
We're so close to the to thestage. No one stop by,

(11:22):

I turned to when I got thebad news that I had cancer, strongly
reckoned me by my friend Joni OHC. And I'm hoping I make it to

OHC for the great treatment protocol thatyou put me through. They like
you will. They surrounded me likethey will you with great cancer doctors.
They've been doing this more than thirtyfive years, leading edge treatments and clinical
trials where you need to be andthey are there engaged in bringing their innovative

(13:13):
Well, thank you very much.Let me do a disclaimer real quick
before I say what I'm gonna say. Okay, I'm in no way suicidal,
and I keep my vehicles in excellentcondition. I'm guessing context will unfold
as you make your comments. Butgo ahead, Dave, fire away.
Indeed, no pun. I wanteverybody to think JFK and RFK assassinations.

(13:37):
The loan gun. Then yeah,my fanny, this was a total setup.
That's how that kid gets in there. And by the way, I've
seen two different reports on two differentpeople who would have been that particular supposed
shooter. Yeah, okay, onespoofing the other, so we don't really
know who that person was on thatroof. And that person wasn't the real

(14:01):
shooter. Not with an iron sightat four hundred feet. That's the report
that I'm looking at. What doyou mean wait wait, wait, wait
wait wait that last point? Whatwas your point on that one? An
iron sight at four hundred feet,Yeah, you might be able to get
something close, but that's an easyshot. That's an easy shot day.

(14:22):
I do it all the time. It's easy. I can hit a steel
at two hundred yards, even likea five inch round at two hundred yards
easily every time back and forth, boomoom, boom boom. What size you're
grouping? Well at that at thatdistance, if you hit it, the
the explosive force of a round goingat three thousand feet per second is enough
to do massive damage. It's oneof the reasons Donald Trump is Thank God

(14:46):
you're alive. What's probably a fourinch probably about a four inch group,
maybe three if I'm lucky. Lookat the two stripes on Donald's face,
they're a whole lot closer than fourinches. Well, those are blood streams.
One is his ear and the otherrest is blood pouring down from the
hole in his ear. Pretty straightline lateral bleeds. That's interesting. But

(15:09):
anyway, my point is I've reada report from a fella who said that
he was the counter sniper who tookthis kid out, and his boss told
him to hold his fire while he'swatching this guy peel off rounds. Well,
first of all, if that's theirprotocol, I'm ignoring protocol. If
I'm that sniper, I'm gonna SwissCheese's kid, and then I'm gonna look

(15:33):
at my boss and find out whathis problem is I might Swiss cheese him
too. Yeah, Joe's rightfully askedme, what's the source onto that one
that he was holding hold that theywere told to hold off. I have
not read that. I've read everythingfrom the left wing Politico and the Hill
to the Wall Street Journal and FoxNews. No one has reported that.
I haven't seen it anywhere. Yeah, I'm not surprised. Yeah, this

(15:54):
is a this is an outside thenormal scope of regular supposed news. Then
then have some measures skepticism on thesources. I've seen a lot of qual
from a lot of people. I'vegot skepticism on the whole thing. This
is an inside operation. Well clearlyput the help of the Secret Service,
and they're all traders. Okay,I listen, I understand your comments,

(16:17):
and there are a lot of themfrom both sides of the political spectrum.
I'm gonna keep my powder dry,no pun intended, and wait till more
information comes up before I start drawingconclusions as as clearly as you have drawn
yours. Uh. And you knowyou'd like to think and I'm not you
know, I'm not in your campon that one. But if this was
supposed to be a coordinated effort toactually assassinate Donald Trump, that this was

(16:42):
somehow you had more than one shootera' llah the theories of you know,
Robert F. John Kennedy's assassination, they at least pulled that one off.
Are you gonna tell me that youknow a kid at two hundred yards can't
hit Donald Trump and that there wasa follow up shooter that wasn't able to
pull off around either. I findthat very extraordinarily hard to believe, going

(17:04):
back to my points that I don'teven consider myself like I'm marksmen or anything
like that, but I can hita target at that route, at that
distance. You're saying two people failed. Now listen, if the Secret Service
really truly wanted to coordinate that andthis is the result you got, we
got a lot more to worry about, don't we talk about colossal ineptitude five

Got a lot of callers want tochime in, and I'm looking forward to
hearing from each and every one ofyou, starting in the order in which
they receive. Eric from Florence,Thanks for calling this morning, Eric,
Welcome to the show. Good morning, Brian, haven't called in a while.
How you been. I'm okay allthings considered. You know I'm here

(18:56):
anyway. I'm not sure how totake that lay of caller, because I'm
gonna say you, guys, Yeah, I've been an avid hunter all my
life, but I didn't buy myfirst DAR fifteen until I turned sixty years
old. And I'm gonna tell youwhat, within about five minutes to turn
in those iron sights with that spentcartridge, that shot would have been simple.

(19:17):
And I'm an old, frail guythat can't shoot with a darn Thanks
for backing me up on that,Eric. And you know again, I
am not a marksman, but Ishoot ars quite often. And I've joked
before about the AAR. Not ina joking way, but you get the
idea. Strucker has never squeezed offaround from even a handgun or a long
gun. I said, Joe,I'll tell you what if I took you
out to the range within five tenminutes of you shouldering that rifle for the

(19:41):
first time, you'll be able tohit targets at two hundred yards. Yeah,
I think people forgive what they weredesigned for. They were designed to
be a funge, sporting, plinkinggun. That's our old whole idea.
And they were designed to anybody cantake them out, shoot a environment,
or just go out just have fun. The other point is I want to
bring up is see this talking aboutthe bleeding from the ear. I'm gonna
retired firefighter em t let me tellyou what and here gets cut or anything.

(20:03):
It pleas there are so many catillariesout there. It bleeds like crazy
skulls, and everything in your headbleed like you're right, everything everything from
your shoulders up is just pumped fullof blood. But you know, I
I just I'm gonna pray for thatguy because I think he's kind of lost
in the world of in the worldof doubt and anger. I mean,
this was terrible, and I don'tcare if it would have if it had

(20:26):
been President Biden, President Clinton,President Obama, anyone someone had taken a
shot at us president, whether they'reseated or not. It's terrible. And
you know that you know, therethere was, there was, there was
a father who died there a firea retired firefighter who was a father who
died there. I mean, let'slet's think about that. So let's not
blow us up to some conspiracy andlet's not diminish that life lost by by

(20:48):
this foolery. You know, well, Scott, you know, thank God
that that that sniper and not reallytook him out before he did more damage
you saw. I can say amento that, Eric and well stated points
this morning as we try to keepcooler heads and not go over the cliff
on our determinations because we are stillfresh off the event and still have a
whole lot to learn about even whothis kid was. Silence is deafening over

(21:12):
it. He doesn't really even havemuch of it. I mean, there
was very little social media presence. They didn't find anything by way of conspiracy
yet yet yet? Can I underscorethat yet again? Kent, welcome to
the program, and a happy Mondayto you, Surf and Colin Kent.

(21:34):
Yeah, you're on Kent with aMonday morning quarterback. Conspiracy Flime kind of
figured they would have about it.If you want, Kent, what's on
your mind today? No, no, So that's all I have to say.
All right, I appreciate I appreciateyour observation. They're everywhere certainly going

(21:56):
to show up on the five HaveKuriosy Morning Show. You can feel free
to raise them if you want, but let us try to analyze each and
every one of them thoughtfully and purposefullyin the absence of any true concrete information.
Yet. I'm not saying we're gonnaultimately get it, but I'm willing
to at least wait a few daysfor it. Five point thirty three,
let's go to Mississippi. James.James, Welcome to the show, sir.

(22:18):
It's always good to hear from you. Good morning, doctor Brian.
Yeah, I told Joe Us Iwanted to chime in with my two cents,
but I got to think about it. With inflation, it's probably only
one sin. All right now,I'm gonna come from a spiritual standpoint.
This is my spirituality, and Igot two schools of thoughts here. One

(22:40):
of them, you know, Godblessed Trump to take him away from the
evil Left. They tried to takehim out as one school of thought.
The other school of thought that wasa warning to Trump he better stop doing
what he's doing and change his ways. And those are my two conflicts and
thoughts in my head, Like yousay, with that in information yet you

(23:03):
know it's just all all were pullingstuff out. Well, let's focus on
the latter your two points, changehis ways in what way should he be
changing his ways? His loyalty toand and and love for his wife in
the face of the fact that hehas had affairs his private life, his
public life, his political life, his position on any given issue. I

(23:26):
mean, there's a multitude, perhapsmillions of ways one could interpret that statement.
What are you thinking along the linesof James uh ramping up the rhetorics
and negative radic up, I've gotas as you are. I got volumes,
I got volumes of negative rhetoric, almost all of it from the left,
from the you know them depicting you. Well, no, you're right,

(23:49):
absolutely, it's been ratcheted up tothe point where we are not hospitable
to each other in any form everat all. But I don't recall asking
anybody saying like, well, let'ssee slug Joe Biden's face, decapitate Joe
Biden, stab him. These areall things that famous people have asked to
do to Trump shooting him. Snoopdogg Ass that Anthony Bourdain suggested poisoning Trump,

(24:14):
George Lopez suggest a bounty killing PearlJams suggested Carrion's eating his corpse.
Suffocation came from Larry. I've neverheard anything along these lines toward Joe Biden.
Now, am I saying that theRepublicans should tone down their rhetoric as
well? Absolutely? I believe incivility and discourse. Name calling is a

(24:36):
sign of a win. Column. If you are engaged in a debate with
someone and they go down to thelevel of calling you names or asking for
your assassination or other harm to cometo you, then you've won the debate.
I like to stick on the debatelevel and then shake hans and walk
away to our neutral corners. It'sthe right way to engage in politics.
Five thirty five. Thank you,James. Always good to hear from you.
Rick, Hang on, brother,I'll get your call right out of

(24:59):
the gate of is already time fora break though, And I must do
that because I want to mention affordableimaging services. Because your doctor has just
told you you need a CT scan, an MRI echo cardigram ultrasound lung screening,
cardiac scoring. I rarely mention theprice of the lung screening and cardiac
scoring, but I guarantee you atthe hospital imaging department where your doctor sends
you, those are gonna cost morethan ninety nine dollars. That's all.

(25:22):
A cardiac scoring, lung screening costsninety nine bucks and that comes with the
radiologist report. Radiologists report included inall of the images from Affordable Imaging Services
MRICT scans, echo cardiograms a merefraction of the literally thousands of dollars that
you will pay at the hospital imagingdepartment. Can you go to affordable Absolutely
if a choice when it comes toyour medical care, So tell your doctor

talk station meteorologist Jess Record says thestorms are in Indiana. Maybe that's what

(26:10):
they're monitoring. Anyway, we'll scratchthat off the the weather report. To
satisfied Joe, who screams in myears in frustration, over to the phones
we go. We're going to startwith Rick. Rick, thanks for calling
this morning, Welcome to the program. Good morning. The thing that kind
of annoys me is that all allthe information we get is comes from the

(26:30):
media. I mean, you getthe usual, okay, the police interview
that where you're going to cooperate withall the other authorities. Of course,
you know they have no facts, and so most of the news is kind
of opinion. But you know,it is a tragedy. I just want
to shout out to the Secret Service, who put their lives in the can

(26:53):
immediately shield them, shield the peoplewith their with their own lives. And
mister has always said, look forthe good things, look for the helpers,
he said, But there's always somegood in there. There is,
I am, except for the lastcaller who says the Secret Service was in
on this and responsible for it.And if you believe we've gone that far

(27:15):
down the road, then I guesswe're in an irredeemable place in our country,
perhaps closing the door on yet onemore person who the left has convinced
that our society in our country isin fact irredeemable and needs to be you
know, something needs to arise likephoenix from the ashes on what was the
former great United States of America, since we have lost all faith in all

(27:37):
of our collective institutions. Yeah, there is a theme behind all of that
bashing of our country, and itdoes work and in yours to the left
and the socialist benefit, that's partof the playbook, attack all the institutions
that hold our country together. I'mnot going to play that game. I
will call out and criticize. Criticismand calling out is due, but it's

(28:02):
been solidified in facts. I'm notgoing to speculate. I mean, there's
room for speculation always, but toconclude definitively as that last car, as
that caller did, that the SecretService and other gunmen were involved in this
so shortly after the event. Imean, how the Warren Commission and laugh
at that one all day long? How long did it take them to come

(28:22):
out with that conclusion. Yeah,a little bit of effort went into that
one. Whether you believe it ornot, Fine, there's your faith in
institutions or not still talking about thatdecades later, Charlie, welcome to the
program. In a happy Monday toyou, or try to make it happy
anyway in spite of things. Yeah, Hi, Brian, good morning.
I had two points. Since there'sa lot of violent extremists out there,

(28:47):
I think Trump should be speaking behindbulletproof glass on all three sides and even
on the top because there could bea drone a mile up in the sky.
And coint I don't think we've learnedanything from from the jfk assassination.

(29:07):
The big lesson is we shouldn't takeany chances because there's so many people out
there in the crown and you don'tknow who has a gun or what true,
but you know that that flies inthe face, See that flies in
that that's a capitulation that violence reigns. The vast, vast, vast majority

(29:30):
of the population of the world arenot violent people. It's a small sliver
of it. And while that's smallsliver in a world full of billions of
people, is still a substantial number. Are we going to walk around in
an isolated popemobile our whole lives areelected officials going to do that while we
are well left to our own devices, while they are busily, you know,
getting rid of the police department andcondemning the police as the worst possible

(29:55):
institution around because they're inherently racist. Now we're left to our own devices generally
speak. And a politician, anelected official, should not cower behind bullet
hoof glass twenty four to seven. That is, the person who definitively needs
to walk among the crowd and shakehands and go on with their life and
recognize that, yeah, bad thingsdo happen, and it may happen to

(30:15):
you because you are the one who'sthe politician. You ran for office,

(32:07):
t phones, of course, reelingfrom the events of the weekend, and
got Larry on the phone. Larry, thanks for holding over the brake there,
welcome to the program. Yeah, yeah, thank you. Uh I
uh was wondering what where all thisheavy traffic's coming from this morning. I
believe it's probably what happened over theweekend that they're in. People are in
a hurry to get out there intheir cars and listen to your program,

(32:28):
to get the fact and to getyour your vend and everythank of I enjoyed.
I tried to get out about fiveo five every morning. I got
to be at work at six thirty. But anyway, that's that's for you.
But the uh what the police officerthat was up on the ladder that
saw the sniper? Ye saw theshooter? Uh it was it's me.

(32:50):
Of course you had to be there, you know, you had one of
those think where you had to bethere unless he thought that was a police
slider up there for protection lived farsome rounds for painting, shooting the air
to let somebody not there was aguy up there on the roof with a
with a rifle. And and Ihadn't heard the guy's name. Get the
police service. I guess it's allgonna come out. But who was that

(33:12):
police solficer and why did he dosomething? Well? Great questions, and
see those are the kind of questionsI'm gonna wait to see if we can
get an answer to, Like thename of this of the police officer who
allegedly went up on top of theroof confronted this kid, and the reason
you he should have realized at leastas the facts have been reported in New
York Post, for example, hasgot this and it's reporting this morning.

(33:35):
Can read it for yourself. Theguy climbs up on the building because the
people in the crowd had alerted thelaw enforcement somebody was up there. They
were trying to alert the Secret Service. The cop climbs the ladder and the
kid turns around and points a rifleat him, and that's when he shimmied
back down the ladder. I guessfearing for his own life. I don't
know, but that is not theway a Secret Service agent would have reacted.

(33:57):
Had someone gone up, I doubtthey would have pointed their sniper rifle
at a law and fellow law enforcementofficer. He would have said, I'm
Secret Service, or would have beenproperly uniformed as a Secret Service agent,
or more fundamentally, since Secret Servicecoordinates their efforts with local law enforcement,
there would have been no doubt ineither side's mind that that was either a
properly stationed sniper or some kid gettingready to shoot at the former president of

(34:22):
the United States of America. Soyou see, these things sort of evaporate
once you put them under the lensof some common sense, logic and reason.
But wait for it. We'll findout, man, We'll find out
eventually. And I'm I'm looking totell you that I appreciate you taking my
call, Larry. I appreciate yourkind words man, and I hope you're
right that everybody's out listening to thefifty five kres morning shows. They could

(34:44):
have worked this morning. Westside Jim. Always my pleasure to have you on
the program. Welcome back, Goodmorning, Brian. I'm listening to you
under my foil half this morning. So somebody emailed me, or if an
instant messaged me said there's not enoughfoil to deal with all the conspiracies that
are floating around on this one. They're going to run out. Yeah.

(35:06):
I did that with the fact aboutthat Kroger's not having enough yesterday. But
anyway, okay, my two centsis, if this was a conspiracy by
you know, the CIA, FBI, the PTA, or whoever, I
would have used or hit him providedone with a scope two it would have

(35:28):
been like a thirty odd six ora three oh eight or something like that.
I mean, using an AR fifteenshirt. I mean you you can
possibly get that shot. I knowyou're you're very good at it, and
you could have done it, youknow, religiously. But everything said,
I would have used a sniper rifleif you'd be honestly want to take somebody
out, even from that short ofa distance. Yeah, I would have

(35:50):
used, definitely used a rifle that'sconsidered a sniper three definitely, Yeah,
yeah, exactly. Plus you knowyou could have taken in one shot with
a with a nice scope and we'dbe talking something different today. Well,
I agree with you. And maybebecause the kid's dad didn't buy a sniper
rifle with an optic Correctly, itwasn't in the among the various weapons that

(36:15):
the kid was able to choose from, assuming there was even more than one
there in his quote unquote potential arsenal. See that that goes again to this
whole idea that it was a conspiracytheory. You know, there was there's
a way to actually do something, and then there's a way to completely drop
the ball and screw up. Soif this was some concerted actor by by

(36:37):
our conservative act by you know, elite members within our government, then again
I'll point to the fact that itis probably the most epic fail of any
conspiracy theory in the world. Correct. And you know, Brian, I
don't know what the Pennsylvania laws are, but like in Ohio, I believe
it's eighteen to buy a hunting rifle. Well that's immaterial because this is his

(36:58):
father's. It was by all reportedaccounts, it was his dad's rifle.
His dad bought it, and I'mguessing his dad is over the age of
twenty one. Well, what Imean is, if he really wanted to
do this properly, he could havewent out and bought his own rifle and
not used as dad's. That's whyI think it was a quick little moment
thought his head insteads of going tobuy a three toh eight and doing something

(37:21):
away. I don't want to sayproperly, but this thing could have been
planned out. He would just wentand bought a three eight, even at
a gun show or something like that, and probably taken some shots at at
a practice in sight. Maybe maybehis dad thought he was at the range
because his dad knew that he hadtaken the rifle. After they lost track
of him for a while, hetried to find out where he was.

(37:43):
Read that, But I'll just goback to sort of the realities of what
we're dealing with here. A twentyyear old kid that works as a cook
in a nursing home is like theboiled down version of where I heard.
I don't know that he necessarily hasthe probably close to one thousand dollars,
maybe five hundred plus dollars it wouldcost to go out and buy one of
those, So you know, it'sjust eat You know, you gotta temper

(38:06):
these things with sort of you know, backing up. But I think it
was just merely that his dad hadthat particular one, And you know,
you can certainly consistently hit targets init with deadly force, with massive deadly
force. There's nothing to be trifledabout it. I know. It's a
two two three, five five sixcaliber weapon. It looks like a twenty
two bullet on the end of thatcase, but that case is packed with

(38:30):
man tons and tons of powder, allowing the thing to shoot it like three
thousand feet per second. So yourwound cavity impacted by that very tiny projectile
is massive and quite deadly. Appreciatethe call, Jim five fifty seven,
fifty five krs the talk station fiveone, three, seven four nine fifty
eight hundred eight two three tak upright back after the news. It's what

(38:52):
motivates your vote. The Democrat racisnow and they were the racist back then,
fifty five krs the talk station.Everybody's reeling from the attempted assassination of
Donald Trump over the weekend, asam I trying to keep cooler heads though
from you know, gantanetic trying tokeep cooler heads prevailing, as amid the

(39:13):
swirling conspiracy theories that are coming fromboth sides, and I do mean both
sides. I so this interesting, well preposterous notion, and there was a
lot of them along these lines fromthe left. There was a couple of
places that actually compiled. And youknow, opinions are like sphincters. We've
all got one, and everybody's gotan x account or a truth account or

(39:35):
some social media account to post nonsensicalratings like the ones on Saturday night on
social media anti Trump posters saying thatthe shooting was staged to help his campaign.
Seriously, I mean, of allthe conspiracy theories that I've read along
these lines, that is probably thedumbest thing I've ever heard. First off,

(39:58):
are you willing to put your lifeon the line and get shot in
the ear knowing that one quarter ofan inch to the right would end your
life. I don't think the presidency'sworth that. Honestly, I wouldn't put
myself in that position. You wantto go a circus sideshow act and have
somebody throw knives at you while you're, you know, pinned to a wooden
wall, knock yourself out. That'snot me. We don't know much about

(40:22):
this kid. He didn't really havea social media presence by all accounts of
thus far, didn't seem to bevery political. They have him registered as
a Republican but having made a fifteendollars contribution to a far left wing group.
Okay, what does that prove?I don't know. Waiting to find
out if there's any connection with him, they're going to they're searching through his
records and in effects and all thatright now as we speak. I'm pretty

(40:43):
certain. But the flip side ofthis ridiculous argument that Trump's stage this to
somehow help his campaign is that,I mean, if you're sitting down around
a table talking about ways you couldmove yourself ahead in the polls or otherwise
secure your victory, and some idiotpresented that as a possibility, what would

(41:06):
your reaction be, Well, yeah, you're fired. That's a good one,
Joe, So you got that. But also, how do you know
it's gonna work to your benefit?Literally putting your life on the line for
a so called stunt that may butthen again may very well not aid you
as you move forward to November.Yeah, we're gonna put that in the

(41:30):
back burner there, buddy. Butthe other component is the flip side.
What are we talking about this morning? What have we been talking about ever
since this horrific thing happened? Right, the horrific thing rumor speculation? We're
wondering where that when the facts comein? How it is that you know,
this local law enforcement officer actually confrontof this kid on top of the

(41:52):
roof before you started squeezing rounds off, only to back off and climb back
down the ladder. I mean, that's been widely reported. The local police
there said that happened. Okay,But what are we talking about We're not
talking about, is really the pointI'm making. We're not talking about Joe
Biden and his declining cognitive ability. So for whatever period of time that we're

(42:16):
swirling and talking and you know, throwing out conspiracy theories and trying to reach
conclusions in advance of having the evidenceto even help us draw proper conclusions,
we're not talking about Joe Biden's brain. So if it's helping anyone along the
political lines. It's got to beinuring to Joe Biden's benefit of not Donald

(42:37):
Trump's. Although I'll acknowledge as everyonemust, he looked pretty damn heroic after
being shot. He wasn't cowering andcrying and you know, asking for his
mommy or something like that. Hestood up to a fist pump. And
that's what some of the left sayswas stage. Oh, it was staged.

(42:59):
It was staged. Okay, whatever, you go ahead and run with
that one. Oh, we pokedmassive holes in a five one three eight
hundred and eighty two three. Talktooun five fifty on AT ANDT film to
see what Jerry's got this morning.Jerry, thanks so much for calling today
in a very trying to make ita happy Monday. Anyway, Good morning,
Brian. Go ahead, Jerry, you have some thoughts or comments you

(43:21):
want to pass along there, Brian, I am talking to you, Jerry,
all right. So one of myquestions is they're talking about turning down
to rhetoric, and they're talking abouteverybody calming down. I remember back when
Maxine Water said, confront him,get a crowd in front of them,
pushing him out, nobody belongs here, none of that. But today Jen

(43:43):
Pasky was talking about how the Republicansneed to change the narrative and turn it
down. I mean, if youwere forgotten about the past. No,
it just drives me nuts. Withwith with with Pally or I even said
back then, now there's going tobe there's going to be something bad happen
because now you've got politicians saying toconfront people, get a crowd, push

(44:05):
them out of restaurants, push themout of stores. They don't belong here,
they don't belong anywhere. Yeah, yeah, this happens there. And
Jim Plaski is going to get onthe TV and say the Republican National Committee
needs to turn down a rhetoric andchange the narrative and the programming. I
mean programming like we're programming our people. I mean, come on, this
is it's just ridiculous, the entirething is. But it is. I

(44:29):
mean, yeah, I'm a combatveteran. I've seen veterans and people get
shot and get them fist, pumpand flip off the enemy. It's exactly
what Trump did. And that's notstage you know at all. So it's
people saying that they have no clue. They've never been there, never never
lived it, and it's just it'sjust it's sadly, it's sadly funny not

(44:51):
so on so many levels. Iagree with you wholeheartedly on that last DayMen,
Jerry, I really do. Itis comical on so many levels,
and yet tragic that the tragic natureof it cast to Paul over our otherwise
out loud laughter at some of thethings that are coming out of the left's
mouths, no question about it.And the other one on that Jerry and
others is who I mean, they'vebeen calling him a Nazi now for how

(45:12):
long? The embodiment of Adolf Hitler, And you know, I even recall
I think there was this it wasa Twilight Zone episode, But there have
been many Hollywood movies and depictions ofthe sort of what if scenarios. What
if you could go back and killAdolf Hitler before he exterminated eight million Jews,
what if you well, you know, some of them said, those
kind of things fester in the backpeople's mind, and like their think,

(45:34):
they really believe that Donald Trump, after hearing this over and over and over
and over again, is in factthe embodiment or recreation or incarnation of Adolf
Hitler, then wouldn't it be justifiableto go after that guy? I mean,
it's insanity. I would love tosee the Republican National Committee or Republicans,
however Donald Trump's campaign go through thelast eight years of them just bashing

(45:58):
him and threatening, threatening republic lookand sell them to call them out,
push them out they don't belong here, and make an entire video about who's
really caused an inciting violence? Well, it's really you remember ever hearing it.
I don't remember ever hearing the rightssay anything like that. The Conservatives.
Now that's a point I made earlierto Mississippi James. We're very peaceful.
Yeah. And then one last question, how many weapons? How many

(46:20):
weapons does one person have to haveto be declared an arsenal. That's a
subjective question, Jerry, Absolutely subjective, because you know, I have several
weapons. I'm not going to sayhow many I have, but you know,
and someone would say, well, you have an arsenal. And then
I look at a lot of myfriends who think I'm some kind of piker

(46:40):
in terms of the number of firearmsI am compared to the size of their
firearms collection. So I'll let thatI'll leave that to the subjective conclusions of
any given individual, depending on whetherthey enjoy the ownership of firearms or not.
That's how you end up with thedefinition of arsenal that could maybe include
like two anyhow, But let mehelp you out with that. Jerry,
that request on some and I'll relyon Victor David Hanson's ex post from yesterday

(47:04):
on the brief summary of leftists celebritiesand entertainers basically asking for the events over
the weekend to happen. Hmmm, you're right. So since at least twenty
sixteen, there have been a parlorgame among the leftist celebrities and entertainers,
joking, one hopes, dreaming, imagining, and just talking about the various
graphic ways they would like to assassinateor seriously injure Trump Colon quote and I'm

(47:29):
reading the quote anyway, by slugginghis face, Robert de Niro, by
decapitation Kathy Griffin, and Marilyn Mansonby stabbing Shakespeare in the Park play did
that one by clubbing Mickey Rourke suggestedthat by shooting that was Snoop Dogg by
poisoning Anthony Boordain by bounty killing GeorgeLopez by carrying carrion eating his corpse pearl

(47:49):
jam I do like the band, but I hate their politics. By bounty
killing George Lopez, h by suffocatingLarry Whitmore by blowing him up, Madonna
and Moby who by throwing him overa cliff. Rosie O'Donnell just by generic
quote killing close quote him, that'dbe Johnny Depp, big Sean whoever the

(48:10):
hell they are here? Where atleast big Sean don't know that guy by
martyring him Reid Hoffman quote, Yeah, I wish I had made him an
actual martyr close quote. Even JoeBiden in a widely reported called one hundreds
of donors last week, Biden boasted, quote, I have one job,

(48:35):
and that's to beat Donald Trump.I'm absolutely certain I'm the best person to
be able to do that. Sowe're done talking about the debate. It's
time to put Trump in a bullseyeclose quote. Sarah Panalin got in trouble
for that used bullseye in spots duringan election map of the opposition congressional districts,

(49:00):
and the left claimed that using thatimagery incited the mast shooting by Jared
Lee Loughner. How you draw aconnection between those two Well, the left
did, and many in the callsfor well toning down the rhetoric from both
the left and right, many arearguing for the softening of the rhetoric.

(49:24):
Now, Okay, I don't knowwhere the massive problem lies. I can
draw some conclusions based upon the listbriefly put together by Victor Davis Hanson sixty
sixteen. Come up at six seventeenfifty five KRCD talk station five one,

Feel free to call. I've gotsome thoughts are observations you want to
pass along on this whole as theevents are unfolding. Reality of what happened
over the weekend with attempted assassination ofDonald Trump, A lucky man I think
we can all boil down an agreecross political lines. That man he missed

(51:14):
death by just a fraction of aninch. But speaking of this, what
actually a great op ed piece byJonathan Turley yesterday. It's on the Hill
if you want to go to theleft leaningth hill dot com site to read
it, and he just they canjust read some up what he writes about

(51:36):
this, This this ret rage rhetoricthat he writes about, So the assassination
attempt of former President Donald Trump,if the nation's done. But the most
shocking aspect what was not nearly assurprising as it should have been fromon's politicians,
the press, opponents of escalated recklessrhetoric in this campaign President Biden.

(51:57):
Going back to Biden's quote just froma few days ago that I just reads
Biden has stoked this rage redic Intwenty twenty two, he held a controversial
speech before Independence Hall where he denouncedTrump supporters as enemies of the people.
Biden recently referenced the speech and hasembraced the claims that this could be our
last democratic election. And if youbelieve that I got a bridge, I

(52:19):
want to sell you anyway, Hepoints out he discusses this rage rhetoric in
his new book, The Indispense WillRight. So we're living through an age
of rage. It's not our first, but it maybe our most dangerous such
period in our history. And herewe go, Soul has been saying for
years as rage rhetoric is a dangerouspolitical pitch for the nation. While most
people reject the hyperbolic claims, otherstake them as true. Now I read

(52:43):
this, and John Turley writes this, within the factual vacuum, we don't
know what motivated this kid. Drawyour own conclusions before they come out,
if you choose to do se.But I wouldn't hang your hat on him
until we got more flesh on thebones of who this punk was. Anyway,
while most people reject the hyperbolic claims, others take them as true.

(53:04):
They believe that homosexuals are going tobe disappeared, as claimed on ABC's The
View, or that Trump's death squadsare now greenlighted by conservative Supreme Court,
has claimed by MSNBC's Rachel Maddow.Rage is addictive and contagious. It's also
liberating. Allows people a sense oflicense to take actions that would ordinarily be
viewed as repulsive. As soon asTrump was elected, unhinged rage became the

(53:28):
new norm, with Kathy Griffins teachingyourself holding the bloody severed head of Trump.
Just recently, another celebrity, actressLee Delia begged Biden to quote blow
Trump up close quote after recent presidentialimmunity decision. Glaria explained that this is
a blanking war. This is awar. Now we are fighting for our

(53:50):
blanking country and these a holes,I will summer it up, are going
to take it away. They're goingto take it away. Close quote.
Really, for a months, peoplehave heard politicians in press called Trump Hitler
and the GOP a Nazi movement, some comparing stopping Trump to stopping Hitler.
In nineteen thirty three, Representative DanGoldman, Democrat from New York declared Trump

(54:10):
is quote not only unfit, he'sdestructive to our democracy and he has to
be eliminated close quote. He didlater apologize does that unring the bell?
Others say that Trump will quote destroythe world close quote unless he stopped.
He's got citations and links for thosestatements. If you want to go back
to the original, says, Ido not believe that the politicians are puttings

(54:35):
engaging what I call rage rhetoric, want actual violence, but they have knowingly
created conditions for extremist views and yes, extremist actions. Meat has been quick
to announce reckless rhetoric from the right, while largely ignoring the same language on
the left, including threats against conservativeSupreme Court justices. Before the assassination plot
against Brad Kavanaugh, remember that one, don't you? Son of Majority Leader

(54:58):
Chuck Schimmer went to the steps theSupreme Court called out Kavanaugh by name.
Quote. I want to tell you, Gorsich. I want to tell you,
Kavanaugh, you've released the whirlwind andyou will pay the price. You
won't know what hit you if yougo forward with these awful decisions. Close
quote Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.Turtley points out, I don't believe this.

(55:24):
Schumer wanted Nicholas Rosky to go tothe home of Justice Kavanaugh to kill
him. However, these politicians mustknow that some citizens will hear this rhetoric
as a justification for violent conduct. We still do not know about the shooter
and this assassination attempt. We allknow too well how unhinged people can find
justification and the incendiary rhetoric of ourpolitics. This moment did not occur in

(55:47):
a vacuum, occurred at a timewhen our leaders long abandoned reason for rage.

that can get into the segment. But I was thinking about this whole the
left who's been calling him Hitler forso long? Now? Were they lying
when they said that going back tothe whole the old Hollywood scenario of being
able to go back in time andtake out evil people like Adolf Hitler before
they have a chance to do theirharm. I mean, it only works

(57:58):
in the movies because they don't havetime travel. But if they're running around
screaming that he is the embodiment ofHitler, which they have been doing for
so long, how is it thatthey're all going around wishing in the best

and killed. I mean, Iknow some people on social media are really
upset that the shot went a littlebit left or whatever, which is just

(58:21):
a horrific thing to say out loud. Although we have social media to deal

(01:02:29):
for holding over the Breg. Welcometo the program sir, Thank you.
I was watching the news. Iactually heard about this from a guy at
work that was paying attention. Iwas out doing something else, and at
first I found it kind of unbelievable. Seems like, you know, they'd
have better security. But to getonto that, I saw some news articles.

(01:02:52):
One of them was an aerial viewof the place where he was shot
from. Yeah. Yeah, Andthe other thing that came up that was
interesting was that it was unusual fora presidential campaign to have counter snipers traveling
with the campaign, and the wholepoint of having counter snipers is to preempt

(01:03:12):
such an attack, not respond toit after it's too late. So from
what I could see in the aerialview, I'm kind of wondering if they
why they didn't spot this guy beforehand, especially since there was a law enforcement
officer that had already come acrossing Andthe reason that the law enforcement officer came
across him was because somebody else pointedit out to him. Yeah, so

(01:03:36):
this all smells a mite fishy tome. Well, they see that is
I mean, you're right, itsmells awfully fishy. Was it gross incompetence
on the part of the Secret Service? We certainly could reach that conclusion.
One of my callers earlier this morning, on the conspiracy theory level, believes
the Secret Service coordinated this and thatthere was more than one shooter. Where
that information or conclusion come from,I'll let him decide for himself, not

(01:03:58):
going down that road personally. Andbesides, if that was the case,
how terribly was it was botched likenobody's business. I mean, you've actually
had two people with that were trainedin shooting aiming at Donald Trump, and
you wanted to pull this off,and you're a coordinated Secret Service effort to
do it. I think you're gonnahit your mark, Lord Almighty. But

(01:04:19):
in any event, you got agreat point on why something. I mean,
everybody's asking the question, why wasn'tsomebody either on top of that already
as a shooting position. Why wasit outside of the security perimeter that was
the Secret Service was responsible for?Legitimate question. Local law enforcement was responsible
for the areas outside of it.There was a local law enforcement agency apparently
according to the local law enforcement officersthere, that did, in fact climbing

(01:04:43):
ladder after people in the crowd sawthe kid go up on top of the
building with a rifle. They werepointing them out. There's people that were
been interviewed. I mean, it'sall over media right now. Yeah,
we were pointing out right there. You know, you can see the footage
from the real time footage from whatit was happening. This law enforcement officer
climbs up the ladder and the kidturns around and aims the ar at him,
and then he shimmis back down theladder what and immediately begins to open

(01:05:08):
fire on Donald Trump. This isa failure, epic, epic failure.
And literally everyone who is paying anyattention to this is asking, how does
a gunman in plain view of somespectators manage to open fire on a former
president of campaign rally protected by bothfederal and local law enforcement. Naturally,

(01:05:30):
people are going to start swirling theyou know, the down the drain of
conspiracy theories. Of course they are, are we this bad the United States
of America? And say what youwant about the United States of America.
I still insist it's the greatest countryon the war on the world. One

(01:05:54):
could argue the most competent, butthen something like this happens. I've seing
articles some are blaming diversity, equityand inclusion within the Secret Service for the
failures of the Secret Service during thisone another road I'm not going to go
down, but clearly there is asignificant measure of incompetence. Now many people
are saying, hmm, I wonderif it was intentional this incompetence. You

(01:06:18):
can ask that question. You're notgoing to get an answer. At least
yet, you still haven't gotten ananswer to how January sixth happened. The
pipe bombs out January sixth, anda whole bunch of other investigations that they
well, the people who are responsiblefor investigating this are I think still investigating.

(01:06:43):
Hell, people haven't even put afinal stake in the Warrant Commission report
about the assassination at John F.Kennedy. Here we are, decades later,
with hundreds of books written on thattopic, and many people believe there's
been no definitive conclusion to how exactlyit was John F. Kennedy was assassinated.
So we'll be talking about this one, presumably for years. I just

(01:07:03):
thank god the man is saved.Donald Trump did not die. And just
some are calling it a miracle ofGod, and you can call it that
if you like. You can callit to make the biggest stroke of luck
ever. He was in less lessthan one inch of death, less than

(01:07:25):
and if you watch when the shootinghappened, it appears as though Donald Trump
just turned his head immediately before theshot rang out. And we can all
speculate if Donald hadn't turned his headto the right there what might have ultimately
happened. Five one, three, seven, four, nine, fifty five

how long the Each year for Trumpgoes on, So lots and lots going
on. We're gonna hear from Claireagain at eight forty on an update on
that. Let's go to see whatAndrew Pappus has to say. Welcome to
the program, Andrew. Good tohear from you morning, Bryant. Are

(01:09:42):
you in Milwaukee yourself right now?I'm on my way to Milwaukee. I
could not change some scheduling, soI am on my way this morning to
Milwaukee and I'll I'll be there lateron this afternoon. Great safe travels to
you make that trip on a verysafe way. You're not taking your private
jet, are you. My dogthinks that's funny. He's like, no,

(01:10:05):
no, no, listen. Iwish you know, regarding what you've
been discussing this morning, and you'vebeen right on point and echoing, you
know, everything you've said. Ifelt like I'm speaking to myself because you're
the voice of common sense and thatthat that's been missing, uh sadly in

(01:10:27):
this country for far too long. But I'll say this, the the memo
that Joe Biden was was trying topass along apparently didn't get to his strategists.
Because you know, it's easy forJoe Biden just to get on TV
and just like you said, ohyou decided to I don't Drew you are

(01:10:51):
breaking up. I didn't hear.I only heard a garbled a couple of
mumbles. And it's easy for Joeto get on TV. And then you
kind of dropped off the map there. So repeat your comment. I apologize
the gotta love self service. Thepoint is is that yeah, he can
get on the rate, he canget on and talk from his memo,

(01:11:12):
but it didn't get to the Democratstrategists because not not only do you have
you know, uh, Victor DavidHanson setting all the celebrities that have called
for violence, you your call areference Maxine Waters and other Democrat can't Democrat
officials calling for confrontation and violence meet? Yet, just yesterday Democrats strategists were

(01:11:39):
floating the idea to the press sayingthis was probably or don't forget, this
could have been staged. That's irresponsible. These are Democrat strategists, these are
just people on the internet. Theseare people intimately tied to the Democrat Party.
So you can't have it both ways. And that's not Tony down the

(01:12:00):
rhetoric at all. As a matterof fact, that seems to me is
actually toning it up a little bit, Yeah, and doubling down on the
rhetoric. Well, because it's soblank and stupid. I mean, I
pointed out earlier. I mean,if you're President Trump, you're gonna put
your life in jeopardy for stunt thatmay or may not in your to your
benefit. And then the Democrats joinedthe benefit of this, because we're not
talking about Joe Biden's declining cognitive stateright now, are we. So he

(01:12:24):
gets a pass for some period oftime just because of the horrific antivy events.
Yeah, Brian, you're a shooter. Yeak, you put an apple
on your head, you go standone hundred and was about one hundred and
thirty yards from from a kid twentyyears old that obviously has some eyesight correction
issues. Using that, you're gonnastand there and you're gonna, I mean,

(01:12:47):
you're gonna you know, you're gonnaput your bet on that. No,
that's the first point I made thepresidency. You're gonna, right,
if you're going to stage this,it's gonna be with somebody a little bit
more at least at least apparently fromappearances competent then this kid, and you
know, you bring up so manygreat points about law enforcement. And I'm

(01:13:10):
a huge supporter of law enforcement, you and I both are. But somewhere,
somehow, I don't know the rulesof engagement that were established for the
snipers. All this will come outand investigation, but indeed, you know,
to be confronted and to be seen. How you know they shot him
just seconds after he pulled the trigger? Why did they not shoot beforehand?
I mean, I just there's somany things. Why did the policeman come

(01:13:33):
down the ladder and not just takehis revolver and shoot in the air to
alert the entire facility that there wasa shooter? There any so many things
that need to be discussed. Everythingneeds to be discussed. And that's why
I keep saying, keep your powderdry weight till the facts come out,
and then we can draw legitimate conclusionsabout whether or not the ball was dropped,
whether or not there was some sortof conspiracy going on, whether or

(01:13:56):
not maybe law enforcement did fail DonaldTrump in this particular case. I'm waiting
to find out. But you're allof these things, all of this,
this this reality is staring us inthe face and it just raises a multitude
of questions and most notably about thecompetence of law enforcement at this event.
I mean, he announced this thingten days in advance, that target,
that that elevated shooting point. Idon't know how there wasn't a sniper from

(01:14:20):
the Secret Service, a local lawenforcement on that point. It's easy to
hit a target from that world.I don't know how in today's world there
wasn't drones surveiling every inch of theplace, you know, while it was
going on something else. Yep,many people brought that up as well,
because the Secret Service does in factdeploy and use drones when they are surveilling

(01:14:42):
and keeping well the president safe fromharm. So yep, keep asking the
questions and hopefully at some point we'regonna get answers, and I hope that
point is sooner rather than later.Always a safe travels man, look forward
to hearing from you. Feel freeto call on the program while you're up
there this week, because I'm anxiousto know what's going on. I'll give
you updates, good Man, DrewPappas Save Travels six fifty six, Bobby.
If you hang on, we'll takeyour call out of the gate coming

(01:15:04):
off the top of the our news. Remember Christopher Smithman at seven thirty and
Monday Monday's Brian James at eight ohfive, plus Claire Corcoran, uh Clairemont
County Commissioner will be calling us livefrom Milwaukee. She's there already. We'll
be right back. I don't careabout anybody else. It's what motivates your
vote. There's evil for Verden andthey're trying to destroy or fifty five KRC

(01:15:25):
the talk station. This report is. It's seven oh six here fifty five

(01:15:45):
KRC DE talk station, Brian Thomas, trying to wish you a happy Monday.
In spite of what we're dealing withhere, lots and lots and lots
and lots of questions swirling around. It's been fun talking with folks and getting
their opinions. As crazy as someof them are, I must acknowledge.
I'm keeping my powder drying up intended. Just received another one from my friend
Maureen, and she just is intouch with all the crazy things that are

(01:16:06):
going out there. This is notsomething she necessarily subscribes to, but there
is a photograph that's swirling around there. This twenty year old kid was somehow
employed by Black Rock for a commercial. I don't know, but it looks
like a photograph that even I,not computer savvy, could easily put together
in about ten seconds time on AIand post and claimed that there was some

(01:16:29):
connection. So this kind of stuffis going around all morning, all weekend.
And you know, the one thingthat they before I get to Bobby,
question did the inflammatory rhetoric inspire theshooter to do what he did?
And yes, there is a tonof inflammatory rhetoric. I've read a whole
bunch of it this morning, thanksto folks like John Turley and Victor David
Hanson going back to the records andpulling up all of the horrific things that

(01:16:54):
so many people on the left setabout what they wanted to have happened to
Donald Trump, from blowing him upto throttle him, to shooting him to
killing him by multiple different means. There's a million different quotes out there.
Kathy Griffin, you know, havinghim his decapitated head in her hand.
It's been going on since he walkeddown the steps in twenty fifteen. Did

(01:17:15):
that have anything to do with it? You can't answer that question, No
one can. We hardly know anythingabout this punk would be murderer other than
he's probably out of his mind.Registered as a Republican but gave fifteen dollars
financial contribution to a left wing groupthat was dedicated and committed to getting more

(01:17:35):
Democrats elected. Well, that's inconsistent. You can't draw any conclusions from that,
now, can You can't conclude anything? So, you know, I'd
like to think cooler heads prevailed onthe fifty five KC Morning Show. I'm
trying to do a thoughtful analysis of, you know, what could and what

(01:17:57):
might have happened in the face ofwhat we actually know happened and what we
do know happened. I think wecan all generally agree across the board that
this was a security failure on somelevel. Blame will be cast, and
there should be an intense investigation, one of which has already been announced July

(01:18:18):
twenty second, they're going to haulin the head of the Secret Service that
we'll depose her and ask her andshake her down for information about how this
could possibly have happened. But youknow, the one thing that I keep
observing and everyone who knows anything aboutshooting a modern sport rifle that at one
hundred and thirty yards to one hundredand fifty yards over far away he was.

(01:18:38):
That is an easy shot. Andthankfully he was probably not a very
experienced shooter, because at that distance, if you are an experienced shooter,
it is not something that is difficult. And you can go ahead and say,
oh, that's one of the reasonswhy no one should be able to
own these types of weapons. Okay, whatever, But practically speaking, one

(01:19:01):
must acknowledge. Anybody who's ever firedhim on an sporting rifle knows. And
I shoot him at tw hundred yardsall the time on my gun range.
It's not a difficult shot. Sowhy warrant agents there? Why didn't they
investigate that particular building, the elevatedshooting vantage point that that place provided for

(01:19:27):
this punk? Why didn't people respond? I mean there were you got video
and then interviews with people who werestanding there, going, yeah, we
saw him up there. We toldlaw enforcement about it. We alerted them.
There's actually video with the kid creepingaround up there. Now we've got
to report. This morning, alocal police officer actually went up a ladder

(01:19:49):
and confronted this punk. The kidturned around and pointed the rifle at him,
so the cop went down back downthe ladder. Why didn't he do
something? Drew Pappus brought that.I mean, he could have fired his
gun in there, He could havescreamed, he could have picked up a
radio, I guess and contacted Isuppose everybody else with whom any law enforcement
officer should have been able to communicatewith secret Service or fellow law enforcement officers

(01:20:12):
to report the fact there's a kidwith a rifle on top of an elevated
shooting pointment direct line in sight tothe former president. Good question, Bobby,
Let's get your call. Sorry tomake you wait so long, Bobby.
Welcome to the fifty five Cars MorningShow. Hey, my brother,
A simple thank you can't express ourtrue feelings of appreciation. You carrying that

(01:20:34):
torture, freedom, hire and brightevery day, my brother. I appreciate
it. I appreciate you. Bobbyand everybody else who listens to the fifty
five carse Morning Show means a worldto me. Well, we've all.
I don't want to use the wordI'm an experienced shooter, but I'm telling
you that he was right on target. The only thing was it was divine

(01:20:58):
intervention with he barely moved his head. Yeah, he did move his head,
right, I have observe that aswell, Bobby, if he just
seems to right at the moment thatthat round was squeezed off, he had
just turned his head to the right. And Trump even addressed that. He
said, I turned to look atthe teleprompter or something, And he said,
I normally don't do that. Inormally try to stare and engage directly
at the crowd, he said. But for whatever reason, and I think

(01:21:20):
Donald Trump gave God credit for it, he did turn his head at that
moment, and otherwise God knows whatwould have happened, Bobby. We can
only speculate, but he may havewith that one moment in time, saved
his life. Divine intervention, myfriend. And when we talk about the
rhetoric, it won't stop. Thesepeople's ideology will not change. It may

(01:21:43):
slow down a little bit for thenext five days, but I'm telling you
it'll be perpetual motion with these people. They will not stop the rhetoric.
No, I agree with you,And the rhetic has filtered over to the
right wing side of the equation.I brought this up earlier in the Morning
Show when somebody suggested this was actuallya secret serve as coordinated effort to assassinate
Trump, which I found laughable becauseof how epically it failed. He even

(01:22:08):
suggested there was a second gunman there. And I don't know where people pull
this kind of thing from their sphincters, most likely, but whatever, those
kinds of things are swirling around theinternet. So I mean, but the
point being that he at least hasconcluded that we are so corrupt as a
society, as a government that ourown government would would endeavor to assassinate a
presidential candidate. That feeds into theleft's desire, which is to undermine our

(01:22:33):
belief and our faith in all ofthe institutions of government. Now you're talking
to me someone who is jaded incynicals today is long about the effectiveness of
government. But I really do firmlybelieve that the vast majority of people do
want our country to succeed. Theydon't want to lose their job as a
consequence of well destruction of America asan entity. Waiting for phoenix to arise

(01:22:57):
from the ashes of us finally concludingthat we have no faith whatsoever in our
government and it's time for it togo. I'm not going to assist in
that effort. I want competency andi want efficiency from government. But if
you know, I'm not about tobelieve that they're going to go around and
assassinating citizens of the United States ofAmerica. Call me naive if you want.

(01:23:17):
But and I'm also I'm also alittle bit cynical to believe that God
had anything to do with it.Bobby, I hear you, and I
know you're a man of faith,But you know, God didn't prevent the
murder of twelve hundred Israelis. Goddid not prevent nine to eleven from happening.
God did not prevent wars, pestilence, and famine over the millennia.
He didn't stop the Jews from beingslaughtered by the Nazis. We could go

(01:23:39):
on and on, and on andon. It would use up ten months
worth a fifty five Kose Morning showgoing through the annals of history and looking
at all the tragedies that have thefallen mankind that God did not step in
and stop. So maybe you arefirm believer that God did have a President
Trump's back. Fine, I haveno problem with your belief in it higher

(01:24:00):
power. But I do too.I believe in a higher power. I
just don't believe one that is activelyengaged in stopping horrific things from happening.
We've got too many illustrations of that. Bobby, God bless you. Sure,
Okay, fair enough, my brother, I take care, my friend.

Pleasure, thanks for taking a call. Say, I don't quite share your
faith in our government, you know, the story being that my country right

(01:26:14):
or wrong, but my government whenit deserves it, my faith anyway.
But about Trump and his situation,if he continues to depend upon the Secret
Service and government agencies for his safety, he's not going to make it.
At mar Largo, the infiltration bysome intruders was not caught by the Secret

(01:26:35):
Service when he was there, butit was actually caught by his own privately
managed security services. That's where thetalent's going to be to have the experience
and the I suppose you call itversatility of thinking, to be able to
counter the types of threats that he'sgoing to continue to experience. So I

(01:27:00):
would encourage the campaign and Trump himselfand his wife to get on his case
to take advantage more of his experiencein the commercial motel, hotel and a
venue business and not depend upon thebureaucrat style of management of his own security

(01:27:21):
and safety. Yeah. Well,I mean this is not the first illustration
of secret service and competence, isit. I mean, we can go
back and have a whole bunch offailures on the part of the Secret Service
and each one of them. It'sIt kind of reminds me of Jay Ratler's
conversation about Boeing. You know, the FA goes in and accuses Boeing of
having all this crap going on.They're negligent there their supply. It's just

(01:27:43):
all he's about profit. You're notpaying attention to quality. You better start
building the planes, right, Andthen it happens again. They go in
again, and it happens again.Nothing ever gets done in the name of
profit over Boeing. They just keepsacrificing safety for the name of profit.
Well, you got how many illustrationsof Secret Service failure going on, and
they supposedly go in, they looka hearing on it, and they do
an analysis and they figure out waysto improve it. And then you know,

(01:28:03):
here we are left with this nothingbut what looks like absolute epic failure.
So yeah, maybe Trump should hirehis own security team. Maybe,
just maybe the Secret Service should getits damn hack together. I cannot wait
to get the answers with all thequestions that are swirling around. I mean,
they're trying to do a mea culpasaying hey, listen, that area
was local law enforcement, but you'resupposed to coordinate with local law enforcement.

(01:28:26):
And who leaves an elevated target likethat within shooting easy shooting distance. I
might underscore of the podium where theformer president is speaking unattended. And how
is it that so many people sawthat kid crawling around on the roof up
there and we're screaming at law enforcementtrying to point him out and nothing was
done. Well, you know, call it a conspiracy. They didn't want
to protect Trump. They let ithappen because they were hoping he'd die,

(01:28:48):
or they were just failures at theirjob that day. Either one is equally
conceivable. And I'm not going downthe road that they wanted him dead,
at least not yet. I'll waituntil we get the answers to some of
these questions, because it does looklike and you can't move away from it.
At least. The facts as wehave them today reflect a failure on

(01:29:11):
the part of the team that wassupposed to protect Donald Trump that day,
a failure, and we have oneperson dead and two people injured as a
consequence of well, three people injuredif you include the ear of Donald Trump
injured as a consequence of it.So I don't know. I have my
popcorn out, and I will holdmy opinions at least in so far as
reaching ultimate conclusions until more information isconfirmed. But we all know that we

(01:29:34):
all know where government has let usdown in terms of the information confirmation part,
though, don't we Dennis? Can'tyou recognize a failure in pretty much
every measure of what government service issupposed to be doing. Yeah? I
talk about that all the time too, And that's not designed to say that
our United States is a failure, but many in government service, many government

(01:29:58):
services are epic failures. I mean, you know, it's one of the
reasons why we're thirty five in thehall. Man. Oh yes, so
well, IRIS is the worst governmentexcept for all the rest. See there
you go, dnnis. So takesome comfort and stocking that you can't find
better. My old point about governmentis not that we need Our country is

(01:30:19):
irredeemably wrong and needs to something needsto come from it. As opposed to
fixing what we've got. We doneed to fix what we got, and
fixing what we got requires the pairingback of government intrusion and involvement in our
lives. Generally speaking, thanks tothe call, Dennis, you have a

good friend of mine. And happybirthday early tomorrow your birthday, is it
not, Christopher? It is,brother, Thank you very much for that
that early birthday wish Brian Thomas, and I'm honored to be here with you.

(01:33:13):
And uh, there is only onesubject matter for you and I to
discuss, and that was that isthe attempted assassination of former President Trump in
Pennsylvania. Kind of figured that's thedirection you'd want to go this morning.
How could it not be? Christopher? Oh? I mean here we are
in the middle of history. First, let me start with extending my deep

(01:33:35):
condolences to the UH citizen who losthis life and those who are in critical
conditions still fighting for their life. And let me let me start with saying
that I am so happy that formerPresident Donald Trump was not a fascinated and

(01:34:03):
that his family they have their father, they have their grandfather, they have
their uncle, you know, peoplethat support him, they they have their
candidate there there there was there's somethingquite eerie about just moving your head slightly

(01:34:25):
and a bullet going through your earthat was probably going through your forehead,
and you and I would be havinga totally different conversation this morning, Brian
Thomas, than if we were sayinghe was assassinated. So this this,
you know, the results. Youknow, there's gonna be a lot of

(01:34:46):
discussion about the Secret Service, whichI'll talk a little bit about this morning.
But at the end of the day, I just am very happy that
we did not have a former presidentof the United States assas amen a men
all day long, Christopher. Andit's like I wouldn't wish that on anybody.
I mean, I wouldn't want tosee Joe Biden assass in. It

(01:35:09):
as much as I disagree with himand disregard him as a functional human being,
disagree with his policies, you knowwho in the I mean, what
kind of person could even harbor thosetypes of desires? And you see it
on full display again. I mean, as I've pointed out all morning,
some of the summaries of the ofthe of the literal you know, hopeful

(01:35:30):
wishes of so many famous quote unquotefamous people like Robert Denier and others wishing
him dead and asking for that indifferent ways, whether strangulation, suffocation,
murder, stabbing, slugging him inthe face. I mean, what goes
on and on and on and onthat they said these things out loud in
social media, two cameras, tworeporters, and then here it finally,

(01:35:51):
something like that happens. Their desiresapparently fulfilled at least almost, and now
they're all walking around saying, ohmy god, how glad they are that
Donald Trump is okay and they feelfor him and they're you know, prayers
for his quick recovery, et cetera, et cetera. It's the hypocrisy is
pretty pretty amazing, it is,And the disappointment in the news media outlets

(01:36:15):
as things were developing, he faileddown, he was taken out. I
mean, now understand being cautious, but this was at a level of complete
uh uh stupidity. I mean, you have the former president standing up,

(01:36:35):
pumping his fist blood over his face. You know, a rational person would
say, you hear pops prior tothat, right that that there is somebody
with a gun that has injured him. But the but if you look at
the the national media uh TV newsstations, they were really really, really

(01:37:02):
cautious, and it took them foreverto use the words attempted assassination on former
President Donald Trump. Yeah, itwas. It was just amazing to me.
Well, a guy died right thenand there when it was going on.
That was known to the media mediaam as immediately Trump obviously had been

(01:37:23):
injured, is bleeding from his ears. He hear the pop up, Papa
pa pop. You got two woundedpeople of one dead person standing around Donald
Trump right there. That was known. So clearly we have an assassination attempt.
I don't know why they felt itnecessary to sort of keep their powder
drys. I've been endeavoring to doin terms of trying to figure out,
you know what happened and what didn'thappen here this morning amid the swirling conspiracy

(01:37:43):
theories, and of course they're gonnabe swirling conspiracy theories. Considering that this
even happened in the first place, knowing that there's Secret Service protection and local
law enforcement there and that clear lineaside from the building, you're like,
wait, what, but we don'tknow yet. You don't really have any
information about who this murder would bewhat or a punk is either. And
to have congressional members, just inthe most recent which citizens might not know,

(01:38:10):
try to introduce legislation to take SecretService protection away from former President Donald
Trump was also insane. And tonot have that same protection for candidate Kennedy
out there is insane. We livein a world unfortunately that's very different,

(01:38:33):
and we have got to understand thatprotecting our leaders is critical no matter your
political position. How do you wakeup this morning and think that this is
a part of you know, discoursethat a candidate is running and by the
way, you know, this isjust piling on to the words for the

(01:38:55):
last call it seven and a halfyears that people have been saying in a
public dehumanizing comparing this man to Hitlersaying that he is a threat to democracy,
that he's a dictator, meaning allof that language, and then all
of the things that you said atthe beginning of your show, meaning basically

(01:39:15):
wishing death upon him. But thiskind of language has been building for the
last seven and a half years, and the reality of it is for President
Biden to come out soft on it, meaning he spoke earlier, he spoke
now from the White House, he'sstills soft on it, meaning this must
be condemned by every political figure inthe United States of America, no matter

(01:39:41):
where you stand. And by theway, some of the rhetoric that I've
been reading about a congressional congressional membershere in Ohio, meaning there are things
that they are saying that just didn'tmake sense. Greg Landsman, for example,
you know, I'll talk a littlebit about that, things that he
was saying about former President Trump madeno sense. He's piling on and adding

(01:40:06):
to this kind of behavior, andI'm just completely disappointed, disappointed. We'll
bring it back and talking a littlemore detail about Greg Landsman's comments because I'm
wildly curious to hear what he said, because those are ones I did not
run across yet this morning flurry ofinformation I'm trying to deal with this morning
more with Christopher Smithman and the Smithervent up some forty two Brian Thomas with

(01:40:27):
Christopher Smithman doing the smith e VanChristopher. He had a comment with Greg
Landsman. You want to elaborate onwhat he said because I didn't catch that.
Yeah, here are some some quotesthat he put out on X Authoritarism
is on the rise and Trump attendsto be a dictator. The state of
our democracy rests on the outcome ofthis election. A different post. The

(01:40:50):
only thing more dangerous than Trump winningis Trump controlling all three branches of government.
Another quote. When he says hewants to undermine our democracy, he
means it. Another quote. Trumpis unfit to be president. The chaos

(01:41:11):
of Trump continues. Of what he'sdoing to this country, the extremism and
danger he and his allies present, has to end. Think about all of
this language, These are just Thisis just what he's putting out on on
social media posts from a congressional member, right, And none of it is
true. None of it is true. It's all lies. There's nothing here

(01:41:32):
that he's that is actually true. This man is not a dictator. He's
not going to take over all threebranches of government, So what the hell
is he talking about? And bythe, by the, by the,
by the, let me remind thepublic that here's a member that I served
with who was a member of theGang of Five, which absolutely in local

(01:41:56):
government was undermining our government because theywere going they were literally trying to have
conversations about development deals, about aboutanything that they didn't want you, meaning
Brian Thomas in the media to see. So here's this is hypocrisy at his
best, even though they don't talkabout it. This was a member of
the Gang of Five who absolutely wastrying to undermine our our local government at

(01:42:19):
the time. And anybody can googlethat his name and Gang of five and
all of that stuff will come out. And I believe Judd Ruman said all
of them should resign, meaning fromthe bench. He said everybody and all
of you should resign holding the publicoffice. Again, I believe it was
close to his words. And here'sa guy putting out tweets as a congressional

(01:42:43):
member calling the former president a dictatorand that he's going to take over all
three branches of government. Now that'sjust not true. It's just why,
so, why the hell would yousay something like that. It's just completely
irresponsible. It's self un laughable.Who believes that? And then under what
circumstances could that be accomplished? Imean, do we not have Congress how?

(01:43:11):
I mean? The executive branch onlyhas specific powers. They're delineated and
they can't exceed that. You know, who knows that, Joe Biden who
tried to forgive it billions of dollarswith the student loans and the court said,
whoa dude, power of the purse. That's congress Man, you can't
do that. Who's trying to bethe dictator? Who's trying to take over
the government? And Brian, allI'm saying is, this is the language

(01:43:34):
that citizens are saying, right, played into what happened this weekend. And
we're not only saying stop it,we're saying what you said played into the
outcome of it. Well man, okay, let me let me just interject
just a little bit though, becausewe yet don't know that this kid acted

(01:43:58):
with a political bent a bias.If you he was influenced by any person
he was on the right side orthe left side of the political Ledger.
We got about nothing on the guyexcept that he was a member of the
Republican Party, apparently accorded all thepress accounts, and that he contributed fifteen
dollars to the Democrat left wing campaign. Now, I don't know how you
reconcile those two positions beyond that apparentlydidn't have much of his social media presidence
at all. He was on somegamer website and they said he was barely

(01:44:20):
visible there, didn't have any politicalposts. So I'm gonna wait and see
what they find. I'm gonna waittill they search through his records. I
want to see what's on his computer. I want to see that who he's
involved with, and who he's talkingto. Then we can reach a conclusion
as to whether he had a bias, a bent, influenced or not by
any outside rhetoric. But this doesnot negate what you're saying, Christopher,
that the outside rhetoric has been absolutelyunparalleled, horrific, most notably from the

(01:44:46):
left. They don't hold and monopolyon this rhetoric, but it's sure and
so far as Donald Trump is concern, is hateful and evil And in terms
of what you quoted from Landsman batcrap insane. It's so toxic. And
here's the sad part about it,right, the rest of the world is

(01:45:09):
watching all of this, meaning itmakes us look so weak right around the
world. You mean the Manhattan case, right, is like then on the
back of the biggest bull you canfind. Meaning of this attempted assassination shows
us operating like a third world country. We disagree with who we are,

(01:45:31):
who we are are supporting. Sowhat we're going to do instead of fighting
it out or discussing it at aballot box, We're going to start picking
up bullets. That's what third worldcountries do. And at the end of
the day, there RNC convention, which I believe is starting today, will
end on Thursday. The reality ofthis is that this is going to make

(01:45:53):
that convention, right, the mostwatched convention in the history of you and
the States of America, right, because you're going to have a former president
of the United States walk off, walk on that stage, who now we
all know there was an attempted assassinationof his life in less than seven days,

(01:46:14):
and so when he walks out there, everybody will be watching and listening
to what he has to say tothe rest of the world, not just
the country, but the world. And I will say Biden, President Biden
needs to be and continues to bestronger with his language of condemning what happened.
Reality of it is, someone losttheir life. We've got two other

(01:46:36):
citizens who are fighting for their life, and we almost had a former president
lose his life just by a hair. Imagine Brian Thomas, if he had
just not moved it a hair.We all saw it, just a hair,
and the bullet would have gone rightthrough them. Unbelievable moment in history.

(01:46:59):
You and I are in the middleof history and watching it. And
I'm not going to say what's goingto happen on November the fifth, but
I can tell you people who weresupporting president former President Donald Trump are dug
in more today and those who areon the sidelines are now coming over because
they're saying enough is enough. Youknow, if you go out and you're

(01:47:21):
reading what people are saying, you'reseeing people say, listen, I'm tired
of this left movement. I'm tiredof all these things that people are saying
when they can't even embrace humanity andsay the attempted assassination of a former president
is wrong. There's still people outthere on social media who are mocking this
Brian Thomas this morning, who arehappy about it, who are saying why

(01:47:45):
did somebody miss? This is outrageousand those people should be called out.
And my last comment about it isis Congressman Greg Lansman, anybody in his
team that are listening to you andI discussed this, stop it. It's
irresponsible. Stop it. You havea campaign to run, focus on that.

(01:48:11):
Stop tweeting and saying these crazy, outrageous things about a former president,
which, by the way, areall lies. Everything I read to you
is a lie that there is nopresident that's going to take over all three
branches of government. He's calling thisman the dictator, and he's empowering the
crazy to believe that what he's writingis true. Well, you got to

(01:48:32):
be crazy to believe a statement likethat, chrispher That's my point. It's
insulting to his constituents. And hewould say that because it's impossible, It
couldn't happen. I mean, youwould have to have a coupe destas,
the military would have to take overthe entire government. It would look January
sixth would look like a you knowa circus carnival. I mean that in

(01:48:57):
order to bring about the kind ofscreaming alarmism that they're trying to raise right
now about And look the other componentof this, Greg Landsman is running for
what a representative seat he's gotten ahe's got an opponent in great and in
Orlando Sonza. He's talking about Trump. Really huh. Maybe he's got a
problem in his own campaign and hisown issues in his own voting record or
something. Christopher might want to focuson that one while Orlando Sanza talks about

(01:49:19):
what Orlando Sanza is going to dowhen Orlando's Sonza gets elected. Christopher Smith
Aman Thomas right there. Happy birthday, brother, You have a wonderful day
tomorrow, man, celebrate for allof us what happens. There's no place
in America in this kind of violence. It's sick fifty five krc D talk

and then obviously h'm camefully ware ofthe events of the week. We were
over the weekend to talk about himall morning. But it is still important
to keep financial issues from the forefrontof your mind. Got to retire to
look out for, and of coursehaving a financial planner in your corner is
a great idea. One of thoseguys is Monday Monday's Brian James Malworth Financial.

(01:50:06):
Welcome back, Brian. It's goodto have you on in spite of
the craziness going on in the worldthat we have to deal with. Good
morning, mister Thomas. Yeah, and I didn't, as it was joking
with Joe just before we got onhere. It didn't have to look too
far for headlines to discuss this week. Oh my, oh my, not
at all. And she's having anybible to scratch the surface of everything that's
in front of me this morning, but that's to be expected, and of
course a lot of people chiming inon this situation. I think it's a

(01:50:29):
little premature to reach any conclusions otherthan it looks to be like we had
a massive secret service failure. ButI'm keeping my powder dry and reaching any
conclusions about how or why this couldhave unfolded and happened. I'm just thinking,
thank God that Donald Trump is notdead and that he did survive,
and really, really it's heartbreaking thatan innocent bystander would be gunned down at

(01:50:50):
an event like that. It's justanyhow reeling over that one, and of
course it's going to have political implications. Clearly, some people think it's even
stage Donald Trump did this to himselfto get help, and I just find
that to be the most ridiculous assertionever. But we do have Elon Musk
coming out, for example, andfully endorsing Donald Trump, and presumably that'll

(01:51:12):
come along with some dollars. Buthe's not the only one in the billionaire
category to endorse Trump. That wasyour first story this morning, the futures
steady and billionaires endorsing Trump. Yeah. So Bill Ackman, this is a
name that surfaces every now and thenwith regard to He's an investment professional.
He's a hedge fund manager ultimately, but obviously a pretty big talking head as
well. So he came out andformally endorsed Trump as well. He has

(01:51:35):
been This is not a new Noneof this is surprising. Frankly, I'm
not sure we're seeing any of thesebig names switching sides over this, but
they're getting louder. And so BillAckman actually was calling for Joe Biden to
step down back way back in January. So this is pre debate this is
pre a whole bunch of things thathave happened since. So him coming out

(01:51:55):
and formally endorsing President Trump isn't amajor shock other than the the political rhetoric
is, as you said, startingto increase, and certainly not surprising at
all given obviously the terrifying headlines overthe weekend, So a low surprise.
We haven't seen any poll numbers.I'm sure those will be along shortly when
you'll have to have to kind oflook at the sources to make sure,

(01:52:15):
you know, to make sure everybodycan be comfortable with those results as well.
Well. One of the things, and one of the reasons the assertion
that Trump actually stages himself that's freakinglaughable, is the idea that now attention
has been deflected away from Joe Biden'scognitive ability and the massive problems that Democrats
are facing as they approach their convention, and in terms of donating, I
see the New York Times report ofthe largest Democratic superpack has frozen ninety million

(01:52:40):
dollars in already pledge donations as longas Joe Biden remains a nominee. That's
a pretty amazing news right there. On the other side, of the political
ledger. Yeah, and that's beenyou know, even before these these headlines
from this weekend, when when therumblings were starting about maybe Joe Biden should
step down. Well, who inthe world. There isn't a single name
out there that has been at allvisible. I remember, you know,

(01:53:02):
back when prior to the two thousandand eight election, when Barack Obama kind
of came out of nowhere in termsof he made a few great speeches and
then all of a sudden there wasbuzz about him. Who is that person?
Now there's really nobody there. Sothey're going to have if they're going
to replace him, they're going tohave to pluck somebody and force them into

(01:53:23):
the spotlight who clearly didn't want it. Are they either raise their hands a
little bit earlier? So well,I'm really really thinking that there's no good
solution for the Democrats here. Well, I think they've compounded the problems because
the virtue signaling and the appropriate checkboxes. When they selected Kamala Harris to be
the vice president. She's a woman, she's black, ergo she gets the

(01:53:43):
job. I guess they weren't thinkingof, you know, phase two,
which is what happens when Biden can'tdo it anymore or something happens to him
in office, And who's going torun after Joe Biden either drops out or
dies or otherwise can't do it anymore? And it's going to be Kamala Harris
the logical successor, having been selectedas vice president, and yet her polling
numbers are worse than Biden's in spiteof his cognitive decline. And where has

(01:54:03):
she been for the last four years? Yeah, I feel like I can
name most of the first ladies. They come on and they have their own
platform. There's been a bullying platform, there's been anti drugs, going back
to Nancy Reagan. I feel likeI can name the platforms that the first
Ladies have taken on. Yeah,I can't say kamalas I don't know what
she's done for the past four years. So, yeah, that is a

(01:54:25):
really great question. But that's mypoint. So who is it? Who
is the big name they could relyon prior to Joe Biden. I suspect
if there truly was a big name, maybe that's the person who would be
looking at at the Democratic nomination rightnow. Well, And the other component
of all this in spite of it. I mean, if you had four
people you could name backbenchers that wouldadequately and do a great job in lieu
of Biden. They're going to runinto problems if they waigh around to the

(01:54:47):
convention because there are deadlines in thestate. Ohio's one of them. I
mean, you got to declare andhave your nominee locked in place by the
sixth of August, which is inadvance of their convention. Otherwise you're not
going to make it to the ballot. And we're not the only date that
has those rules. That was alreadya problem long before this weekend. It
was so yeah, And I'm notgoing to claim to be any kind of
expert on electoral rules or anything likethat. I'm baffled that we didn't that

(01:55:11):
this was never a problem in thepast. That's the part that really confuses
me. But that doesn't seem tobe easily solvable either. So that was
an issue before we had a questionof whether there's any nominee at all.
Well, and then it comes towhat is the platform going to be.
Americans are hurting right now. They'renot doing real well. Inflation is a
real problem, Grocery bills are aproblem, and thanks to the listener,

(01:55:31):
just forward to me the link.Nearly half of small businesses say they won't
survive a second Biden term. Thatwas reported the New York Post headline.
There, eighty thousand small business surveyedsaid that they will not survive the current
economic climate ongoing inflation for another fouryears. That's a real problem out there.
Yeah, it really is. Andthese are things. These aren't new,

(01:55:54):
right, We've been going through thisfor four years, so these are
things that people are saying, youknow, we can stretch a little bit.
We've been able to cover this andkind of assume the added expenses for
now, not without impact. Butat the same time, the economy is
still is still going strong, andthe stock market is actually, you know,
at an all time high. Sosomebody has been able to make profits

(01:56:15):
regardless of all of this, ofall of the inflationary issues. But small
businesses, like you said, willhave less room to cover these things in
the future, as opposed to alarger business who can simply say, well,
that was a bad quarter, wedidn't make as much as we want.
Moving on, we'll crumble that upand throw it away and will be
okay. So yeah, we arekind of hitting a breaking point there well.
And of course the very small businessesare not traded on the stock exchange.

(01:56:40):
They're on their own. They don'thave money in the form of shareholders,
you know, investing in those companieswith the hope they're going to be
profitable. And you know, Ispeaking of that, I guess I'm kind
of curious as I did not lookyet this morning, although I just pulled
up the Wall Street Journal, whichhas futures. Looks like, with the
exception of the stocks six hundred index, all of the indexes, including like
Shanghai and others are post hosting, are are up this morning, or at

(01:57:01):
least anticipated if the futures are up. Yeah, and it's it's almost a
sign of the times, Brian,Right, So terrible, terrifying news gets
winked at anymore because does it reallyhave an impact on profit margin? No,
things are going okay, So let'slet's not panic over now. On
one hand, you know, Iwant to breathe a sigh relief that that
we we don't panic at least. But at the other hand, how callous

(01:57:24):
are we anymore? That nobody's worriedat all? When major historical events like
this take place anymore. How howhow stone cold are we to these impacts
anymore? Well, isn't it agood thing? Though? I mean,
business is separate from politics. Andas long as you know, we're not
talking between the difference between you know, changing our system of government, which

(01:57:44):
is you know, sort of quasicapitalist socialist hybrid, uh, and you
know, changing over to fascism oryou know, in the nod to the
left who thinks Donald Trump's a fascist, or to communism. We're just talking
about basically business as usual, regardlessof who ultimately is president of the United
States of America. Right, Yes, And you're correct, you're calling me
out because I've made those very claimson these radio waves that business and politics

(01:58:09):
are very, very separate. I'mjust pointing out the fact that we ignore
this is about as clear of evidenceas you can possibly get of the system
chewing people up and spinning them out, and it just doesn't seem to have
the emotional impact that it seems likeit should. So numbers are numbers,
but people are people, and Iwish we could do a better job of

(01:58:30):
not completely separating the two. Yeah, it's almost violence has become the norm
and we're all numb to it atthis point. Frightening sad de evolutions society.
Let's pause. We'll bring Brian Jamesback and talk about well legitimate concerns
outliving retirement savings to the extent youeven have one, which is yet another
component of our discussion here this morning. Maybe Brian can convince those that are

Well, part of it is,you know, talking people off a ledge
or convincing them that they need todo more by way of preparing for the
retirement. And I saw the articlethe Blackrock Survey that you provided by way
of materials Americans are worried about outlivingthe retirement savings. There was a corollary

(02:01:35):
article published over in Fox Business regardinggo banking, which is a personal finance
sites Go banking rates dot Com.I guess they did a breakdown of how
long one million dollars would last youin any given state, like, for
example, California. If you havea million dollars in your account, which

(02:01:56):
we're gonna hear from you on maybemaybe most people don't, twelve years,
eight months, and five days thatwould last you based upon the regular expenses
they calculated groceries, housing, utilities, transportation, and medical coming up to
about eighty grand per year. You'regoing to get twelve years and some change
in California. The best state tobe in was West Virginia. Of all
places, they said that you'd takeone million dollars would last you twenty years

(02:02:21):
and change in West Virginia. Butyou know, cost of living differences,
et cetera. So but the pointbeing, even a million dollars in your
retirement savings account is got a finitelife to it. Yep. So now
let me throw out some thoughts hereas to why that's a clickbait garbage article.
Okay, that's got a million dollars. If you have a million dollars

(02:02:43):
in your four oh one k,well, how'd you get it there?
You were working, you put moneyin if you have it doesn't If you
have a four to one k atall, right, two hundred and fifty
seve hundred thousand whatever, that meansyou were working and therefore you were paying
into most likely social Security or somekind of a pension system if your state
employees like that. So what thatis entirely ignoring is that there's another pension
out there to support you. Yes, social security is its own question,

(02:03:06):
of course, but even the worstprojections don't don't have it going to zero.
That itself is a clickbait headline SoCSecurity's not going to zero. Worst
case scenario might need to be reducedby twenty five to thirty percent, which
stinks, but it's also not zero. So my point is, if you're
saying a million dollars will only lasttwelve years in certain places versus twenty in

(02:03:27):
West Virginia, I don't argue withthat, But why are we ignoring the
fact that that would be that thatwould not be the only resource for somebody
in that situation, Well, Iguess the flip to that is, if
your annual expenses in retirement are roughlyand it could be less, it could
be more eighty thousand dollars a year, that is not the amount you're going
to ever get from Social Security.True, but if you but again,
where did it come from? It'salso not zero. So on the other

(02:03:48):
hand, if you've got a marriedcouple who both of them were working and
built up a million dollar portfolio, then I think it's fair to say that
a minimum of forty thousand dollars comingfrom Social Security. So therefore your million
dollars in your four oh one konly needs to generate about four percent,
which historically that's been a pretty reliablerate distribution rate to rely on with out

(02:04:09):
running out of money over a lifetime. So I'm not saying that that's not
a problem. People shouldn't pay attentionto this, but a lot of times
these are just headlines to grab eyeballs. This article that we're discussing right here
itself is a perfect example of it. In the bold font at the top,
Americans are worried about outliving their retirementsavings. What's the subtitle Americans are
more confident about retirement except no.But but the article of the line I

(02:04:32):
there's Vanguard data shows the average balanceand an employer sponsored retire retirement contribution plan
rows to one hundred and thirty fourthousand plus last year, which the nineteen
percent increase from the previous year. The median account balance was thirty five and
eighty six bucks, which is nota whole lot of money. I mean
compared to you know, a milliondollars is still going to run out at

(02:04:55):
some point if you look at theother clickbait article. So people may be
more confident they're saving more. Sixtyeight percent of Americans may feel like they're
on the right track. But that'snot enough of a nest egg to have
socked away, is it. No, not really. But at the same
time, it might be for somepeople. You know a lot of these
people who have these lower balances. You know, again maybe in a situation

(02:05:15):
where they've got a different pension agreement. I've got a lot of a lot
of clients who you know, ifthey're both teachers, for example, you
work twenty thirty years as a teacher. First of all, God bless you.
That is a tough tough, toughcareer, but you've built up a
solid pension if you put that muchtime. And I have married couples for
whom this is the situation, andthey're bringing home the seven eight nine thousand

(02:05:38):
dollars per month in terms of theirpension because that's the kind of benefit program
that that industry has. They lookat their couple hundred thousand dollars in iras
and four h three b's and things, and they lament that they weren't able
to save as much. What Ido with them, Brian is I explained
to them that they're they're friends andrelatives who are in the private sector with
four to one case. They mayhave a much bigger pile of money,

(02:05:59):
but their stream of income benefit isa lot lower. Right, a nine
thousand dollars benefit a monthly check, which again for lifelong careers and the teaching
side of things, that's not crazy, but that's equivalent to roughly a two
million dollars four oh one k spittingout distributions. So it doesn't matter whether
you have a pile of cash benefitor a stream of income benefit. It
matters that you understand how you're goingto spend it, which which starts with

(02:06:21):
what are your monthly bills? Anda lot of times it's not nearly as
scary as people have convinced themselves itis. Then they just simply haven't sat
down and looked at it. That'swhy I have a job. That's why
I have a job. And it'sa good idea. Sit down and consider
your monthly expenses and then try tokind of, you know, sort of
analyze and anticipate are those expensive goingto go up or go down in retirement?

(02:06:43):
You know, like I look like, for example, to our house.
We've got it paid off, andwe just got our bathroom done.
We're pretty much finished for our house. I don't see any major massive home
improvements necessary. So I if Iretired tomorrow, with the exception of general
maintenance and upkeep and annual taxes, know what my housing expense is going to
be, you know what I mean? Right again? And another kind of

(02:07:03):
rule of thumb there that gets inthe way sometimes is people will hear that,
well, I need approximately eighty percentof my pre retirement income, and
they'll say, well, if mypre retirement income is one hundred thousand dollars,
well, then that means I needeighty. No, that's your gross
salary. You've never seen your grosssalary because taxes come out of it.
Fight that comes out of a four. When K contributions come out of it,

(02:07:24):
you probably are looking at sixty percent. You're actually receiving sixty percent or
so in take on pay. Startyour expense analysis there. Start your analysis
period period. That's an advice fromFunny mondays Brian James. Amazon Prime Days

Brian James moving over to Amazon PrimeDays. Always have a measured jaundice,

(02:10:18):
DIY, a suspicion, But thenagain, that's my default mode for literally
everything. My mom, for example, held off. She's in the market
for a new TV, she's gotit already picked out, she knows which
one she is going to buy,and she was waiting to check out the
price on Amazon Prime Day. It'snot obviously an emergency thing she needs right
away, so she was willing towait an extra few days to find out
if it went on sale on AmazonPrime Days. Of course, if it

(02:10:39):
doesn't, she's still going to buythe TV. But there is that sort
of suggestion that Amazon Prime Day isthe best day to ever get a deal.
Is that true? Is there sometruth to that or has it been
slightly exaggerated? Well, can be, But just like anything else, buy
or beware. So the quick storyhere, when I first learned about how

(02:11:01):
these games kind of work, Iwas right afresh out of college and there
was an electronic store up in Daytonwhere I was working at the time,
that had a clearance and they wasgoing out of business sale and they had
put these this really cool set ofbowse speakers. And this is when home
theater was a new thing and everybodyhad to have it and whatever they put
these those little cube speakers that werethose a couple decades ago, Well they

(02:11:24):
had those, and it had ait had a bright green sign written with
permanent marker as to what the pricewas, and it's an inventory clearance.
And I bought it and convinced myselfthat was the best deal ever. Uh.
And then I looked up on thethe what was the internet back then,
which was this is the very verybeginning, and I realized that was
actually higher than the going market price. All they had done was put a

(02:11:46):
green sign on it. And Igot sucked in because it was a permanent
marker sign. Well, this meansit's like a garage sale, right.
So fortunately the tools are better nowadays. So yeah, cant are there good
deals available on Prime Day? Absolutely, but you got to be a buyer
beware. So the thing I wouldsuggest, and we've talked about this before,
there's a tool out there a websitecalled Camelcamelcamel dot com. Stupid name,

(02:12:07):
great website, But it's just likeyou might think the animal camelcamelcamel dot
com. And you can type inor copy in the link of something you
found on Amazon and it will giveyou the price history of what Amazon has
has charged for that particular item forthe last couple of years. So you
can get a good idea, andyou could do it now knowing. You
know, tell your mom if she'slooking at a specific TV, here's what

(02:12:30):
the price has been over time, and she can probably spot it from last
Prime Day what did it look like? So when the new price comes out,
she'll know whether she's getting a gooddeal or not. Oh, don't
sign on to that first price whateverthat is and not necessarily the best deal.
Where in the hell do they comeup with a name like camelcamelcamel dot
com. Stupid websit. They shouldbe their slogan stupid website, great tool
that is, that's actually sound information. I know my listeners appreciate learning about

(02:12:54):
that one. Now. I guessnobody's gonna let Amazon have a monopoly on
Amazon on Prime Day. And Iunderstand that this year, Walmart, Target
Coals, as well as something calledTikTok Shop. TikTok shop, like we
need any more reason to go toTikTok, just just get rid of TikTok
completely. But they're vuying for thesame segment of the market. They're all

(02:13:15):
launching their own sort of versions ofPrime Days. Yeah, Amazon is the
bell is the basically the bell cowfor the retail industry. Whatever Amazon wants
to do and turns into a marginalsuccess is going to get quickly copied.
So we're in year ten now ofAmazon Prime Day. First one was in
twenty fifteen, and I remember itbeing laughed at when it first came out,

(02:13:37):
But at that time the discounts werereally crazy good. I remember that
being a topic on our radio showback then because it was a little surprising
how big of a deal that theyhad made of it, and it was
they treated it like a lost leader. They just wanted the attention, they
wanted the activity, and that certainlyworked. So if you give somebody a
great price, you're going to seea huge in rush of shoppers. Of

(02:14:00):
course everyone else has followed suit.Or maybe it's a time to reflect on
markup that I doubt that anybody isselling something at an absolute loss air go.
If they're knocking fifteen, twenty percentwhatever off the price, they're still
maintaining some profitability. So you knowhow much you're overpaying during the rest of
the year. Yeah, that's agreat way to think about it. Remember,
they're not doing this out of thekindness of their hearts. They're trying

(02:14:22):
to drive activity, and just likeany other store, they're hoping that it's
just like Black Friday. They're justhoping that that one crazy deal on Furbi's
or xboxes or whatever is going tobring you in to go by nineteen other
things you didn't need that aren't markeddown windows shopping. I'm in the store,
may as well grab it while I'mhere. Nah, resist that and

(02:14:43):
take everything that you didn't spend onan impulse buy and put it in your
retirement program. An excellent ten.Wonder where you heard that? Oh from
you? But then again, I'vebeen living that reality my entire life.

we've already got right now. Butobviously it had to have some impact on

The mood is so thankful. Weare so blessed that our president made it

(02:19:07):
out, and we're so glad thathe's up here in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
And we had an extremely joyful eveninglast night. It was hosted by our

was just at the top of theirgame. And we had the greatest fireworks
too, And then we had awonderful thunderstorm that blew in right after the

fireworks, so it washed all thebad feelings away and got us ready for
this convention this morning. Were yousure sound upbeat? And I'm glad to
hear that because there's an event likeover the week and could cast a Paul

you know what day he's gonna announceit? One of the things that people
are on the edge of their seatsfor his announcement of his vice presidential pick.

Do you know what it's worn tosecrecy? I have no idea,
No thank you's telling us, no, no, no, I just I

don't know, but as soon asI find out, I will certainly let

(02:20:13):
you know. We're headed this morningnow to a breakfast which is going to
be hosted by Attorney General David Yosthis morning, and a lot of the
Supreme Court candidates will be here. This place is packed with people. It's
absolute fabulous. What else is onthe agenda for the week in terms of
timing? What are we supposed toexpect? Well, we go to breakfast

(02:20:35):
every single morning at eight thirty, and those will go all the way through
Thursday, and then actually all ofthe alternates and the delegates go to at
eleven o'clock board buses to go tothe Fights of Forum where all the events
are going to be, and fromfive thirty to ten o'clock tonight we will
be there all every single night.Tomorrow is just going to be bad,

(02:21:00):
billis because tomorrow is again breakfast ateight thirty and then Lake Geneva day where
we're doing a vote tour and allkinds of things at the Abby Resort.
And then eleven to two again we'reback in Shulling getting ready to go to

(02:21:20):
and it's just really neat to watchall the ohiowing, So the lens
are all up there at that LakeGeneva resort and I can't tell you.
We're just flooded with all the red, white and blue, and it's just
such a great spirit for America. We have to get this country back on
its feet again. Well, Ican understand where the excitement's coming from because
this isn't a contested primary. DonaldTrump's got the votes. He's going to

(02:21:43):
be the nominee for president. AndI guess, oh, shoot, lost,
I lost track. I had animportant thing I wanted to follow up
with you on, Claire, andI just lost my train of thought.
How about the police presidence is ina noticeable police presence. I'm glad you
just told me that or asked methat question, because if they brought an

additional ten thousand police officers and itis the most securest place you could be
in America right now, you can'teven turn your head without two to three
police officers standing there and thank themfor their service during this time and for
what they did for President Trump. But I'll tell you something, everyone yesterday
was expressing prayers for the family andthe members of those who've lost people in

(02:22:30):
that terrific assassination attempt, and forthose who are seriously injured. You can't
stay enough about praying for them andhoping that they have a wonderful recovery and
a good healthy life of theirs togo forward. I have to tell you
one other thing, though, Iam just very impressed with a lot of

(02:22:50):
the young kids who are up heretoo. My entire family, we have
ten of us up here. Ihad rent two houses because of course all
the dogs they had to come toyou know how that goes anyway and anyway.
So we're we're just waiting anxiously tosee who the VP choice is going
