Day Extra special Wednesday, considering thatwe have joined the fifty five KERC Morning
Show. Now the return of CongressmanWarren Davidson, followed by Congressman Brad Winsor
for a full hour in studio afterthe top of the hour, Welcome back
Congressman Warren Davidson, live from theRNC of Milwaukee. Hey, it's an
honor to join you, Brian, thanks for having me on this morning.
A real pleasure to have you on. And first off, I just want
(00:20):
to get an atmosphere check. Italked to Claire Corkran, commissioner from Claremont
County. Claire Corkran, who Iknow, you know, and she sounds
oh my god, last couple ofdays she's been on the program, just
so excited. The atmosphere everyone's positive. The reaction to JD. Vans has
so far been pretty strong and positive. I wanted to get your reaction on
the mood of the convention. Andyou're also a reaction to Trump's selection of
(00:42):
JD. Vance given the huge bench, very qualified, qualified folks that could
have been vice his vice presidential selection. Congressman. Yeah, I mean,
look, it's a great week. It's celebratory and especially so because frankly,
Donald Trump rarely missed being assassinated.I mean, it's just unbelievable the number
(01:03):
of failures that that happened are allegedto have happened as failures. I mean,
at this point, I think ittakes more faith believe there was negligence
than MAOIs oh yeah, uh yeah, you are, you're you're in my
listening audience territory on that one.I have so many people believing that this
(01:23):
is in some way intentional, intentional. That's how much faith we've lost in
our government at this point that oursecret service charged with protecting not only just
the president, the Vice president UnitedStates, and other noted notables, but
also the candidate Donald Trump, formerpresident of the United States of America.
He's got Secret Service protection all thetime. That they could fail so epically,
(01:44):
just automatically, in these troubled timeswe live in, raise concerns that
well they wanted it to happen,well something I don't know, I don't
know how far it goes, butyou know, not securing that building and
looking at at the things around that, It's just it's just inconceivable to me
that it takes just so much extremenegligence to add it up that you start
(02:07):
going, well, what would otherexplanations be? And you know, we'll
follow the facts where they are.But you know, obviously the number one
person to blame is the shooter. But but the security failure should have prevented
that, frankly, and you couldgo on all day. So there's just
a lot of conversation about that, and frankly, just an amazing relief and
(02:27):
then a celebration like, okay, well we're still on track, things are
going well. President Trump couldn't haveresponded in a more inspiring way that you
know, boldly comes back up rightaway. Fight fight, fight, and
it's like, yeah, that's themood here. We're gonna fight and you
know, using our system, notwith the way that they try to take
out Trump. But you know,we're gonna get out the vote, we're
(02:51):
gonna work at every level. We'regonna win these races, and we're gonna
put Donald Trump back in the WhiteHouse and give them the kinds of majorities
that we can get things done with. And so, you know, I
think JD. Vance is the rightguy to do that for a couple of
reasons. One, you know,it sends a clear signal that this is
a not about one campaign, It'sabout a movement that is going to take
(03:15):
a long time. So you goto one of the youngest guys that President
Trump was considering. And I thinkthe other thing it sends is here's somebody
who changed their mind about Donald Trumpand you know, didn't start out liking
Donald Trump and took a look atthe results and took a look at everything
else and said I can get behindthat. I believe in that. That's
exactly what we need for our country. And the other thing that says is
(03:37):
Donald Trump's a guy that doesn't holda grudge. They did try to describe
him as this monster, demon guy. No one believed that about him before
and now you know, before heran for office, and despite all of
the billion of dollars of media andearned media and everything else they spent trying
to assassinate Donald Trump's character in thepress. You look at JD. Vance's
(04:02):
pick and go, well, hedoesn't hold a grudge. There he got
over things. And now JD Vanceis his VP pick. Well, and
you have addressed and I think ina very positive a very positive and I'll
say spin not to be pejorative aboutit, but a positive spin on a
message that some of my listeners areconcerned about, which is he did have
some pretty, you know, terriblethings to say about but Donald Trump,
(04:23):
going back to twenty sixteen. Butyou know, on the heels of comments
like that, I had a listenercall in and remind everybody, and I
thought it was a wonderful point.Ronald Reagan was a Democrat for most of
his political life before he ended upbecoming the best Republican president around. And
I have noted and noted this morningas well. Donald Trump hasn't always been
a Republican, you know. Imean, people are willing to forgive someone
(04:43):
if it's in their own best interest, and I think it has the time
to forgive JD. Advance for afew comments he made back in twenty sixteen.
Well, if Donald Trump can forgivehim, yeah, I don't know
why somebody else would hold a grudge. Excellent point in Congressman Davidson. We're
gonna pause, right, No,We'll bring Congresman Davidson back for a few
more thoughts about the convention, what'scoming up on the plate today and the
Make America Safe Again, which Ithink is a very very positive message for
(05:06):

her doctor visit resulted in her gettinga check north of one hundred dollars.
She got money for going to seethe doctor. My son had the same
experience. That could be you too. Talk to John Rulman. Couples hundred

Ram Chuck Ingram on fifty five krC the talk station nine fifty about KERCD
talk station Brian Thomas with Congressman WarrenDavidson talking from the RNC. Congressman Davidson,
I have to ask you because thereI've circled your name in the article
(07:38):
jd Vance now vice presidential choice,of course, if the Trump team wins,
he's going to be vice president ofthe United States of America, opening
up a Senate seat. Lots ofnames swirling around, and oh look,
Warren Davidson, one of the namesin local news. Would you take that
job if you were asked? WarrenDavidson, Well, that's a different way
to phrase the question. And alot depends on the outcome of the selection.
(08:00):
And you know, I'm honored.I've got a lot of things out
there in a decision matrix that wecontinue to refine and take a look at
on about November fifth or sixth andsee what I am going to do next
or continue doing as we do it. But right now I'm focused on this
election. I'm on the ballot, trying to get re elected to another term
(08:20):
and the House of Representatives and beable to get out there and do the
things that are going to make usa restore government small enough to fit within
the Constitution, which says we gotour work cut out for us. Wonderful,
wonderful political response, Congressman Davidson,we got your back here in the
morning show. Congressman, you aregoing to get re elected. I know
your constituents. They're wonderful people, and they know you do a fantastic job.
(08:41):
And I think it's right that yourname is on this list, whether
or not you actually get tapped forthe Senate spot or not. We know
your politics and you have a demonstrablywonderful record in that regard. Onto the
convention. What's the topic today?I guess yesterday was make America safe again.
Republicans are definitely on the right sideof law enforcement as we approach Nomber.
Yeah, look, you know itwas really cool. We're at the
(09:03):
convention and I'm walking out one ofthe access points at the end of the
evening last night and there's Cincinnati Police. I'm like, I've got Cincinnati Police
up here protecting this place. Itwas really cool. So, you know,
you're pulling departments from all over, but it was especially cool to see
Cincinnati Police Department up here and doinga great job. And so, yeah,
(09:24):
it's an amazing effort. Securities tightup here. But you know,
the problem is it's not always tighteverywhere around the country. And while you
even have good police departments, sometimesthey're being told to effectively stand down and
they don't feel like they can dotheir jobs. You've got great cops essentially
just you know, biding their timeto retire because the job has become unbearably
(09:48):
miserable for lots of people. Andthen on the other hand, I see
some of these young guys that arestill you know, one or two years
in the forest. They have alwayswanted to be a cop. They still
go out there and do it,and you know, they get frustrated when
they find a case. They findthe bad guys, and then they send
them to judges. And at themost basic level. You know, you
look at a society, don't hurtpeople, don't take their stuff. Society
(10:09):
could exist just fine if people couldget along with that. And so you
get judges that try to make itright when somebody does for someone else or
take their stuff, and we areseeing that fail over and over again in
Hamilton County. It's disappointing. Goodnews in Butler County, just up the
road. That rarely happens. Whatnice shot Congress and David. But it's
(10:31):
accurate, it's so true. Andthat's a very very profound reminder gop judges
dot com for the Hamilton County voterswho got to remember to vote the down
ballot races, most notably the judicialraces, because we do need tough on
crime judges along with Hamilton County ProsecuteMelissa Powers, she needs to be re
elected so we can fulfill this thiscriminal justice leg that's so important, the
deterrence leg. If you commit crime, if you are violent and evil to
(10:54):
your fellow man, you are goingto suffer consequences. That's the deterrent element
of the criminal jugs system, andit's the one that really works. They
have really kicked that leg out andpeople realize they're not going to face any
penalties if they go around and commitvile behavior, and it just creates this
vicious cycle that can be fixed ifwe just pay attention when we vote.
(11:15):
Yeah, look, you can seethat. You know. Probably one of
the most visible cases was in NewYork City, where the city was so
terrible. Turists would come and go, oh, yeah, here's where all
the counterfeit goods are, and here'swhere all the drugs are, and here's
where all the sex stuff is.And people would come to town knowing this,
and you're like, well, iftourists can come to town and know
this, surely the police know it. And the answer, of course they
(11:37):
do. They tolerated, and youknow, you get a lot of times
what you tolerate. You saw inNew York City when Mayor Rudy Giuliani was
there. They started changing the approachand the results changed, and the same
thing can happen Cincinnati. We makeit a place where people want to go
out at night, they can bringtheir families, come down and watch the
reds Bill on a winning streak, and come back and watch the Bengals.
(11:58):
You know, get past the NFLrefs and defeat the Chiefs and go to
the super Bowl and win. Atthis time, go out and watch out
c Cincinnati, stay in first place, see some of our great restaurants and
be out downtown. Things will begreat. And a lot of the districts
you can do that, and youcan do that in Cincinnati at times.
But there are times where people feelunsafe and that just shouldn't continue to exist.
(12:20):
And if we do what you said, gop Judges dot com, elect
umless of Powers and others. Youknow, that's the path that you go
on. It's a choice, itreally is. What's the subject matter of
today's convention? I think there seemsto be a theme going on on a
daily basis there. Yeah, youknow, Brian, I apologize, I
don't have today's theme yet. Getready to go to the breakfast after this.
(12:41):
We'll go there. We'll get thelittle rally and check out check out
the theme. But you know,I thought we had some great speeches last
night. I thought that Governor DeSantisdid a nice job. I thought Ben
Carson did a nice job. Therewas a mom whose son was killed in
Afghanistan. Yeah, you know, just tragic cases where you know, people
are being killed by drugs that arepoisoned with Sentinel, and they're doing a
(13:05):
great job of highlighting there's real consequencesfor these failed policies that Joe Biden has
presided over anybody speaking directly to theborder issue, because clearly the border is
part of the reason we have adrug problem in this country. Yeah,
I mean, that'll definitely be oneof the prominent things. And who knows,
there maybe even some charts that President'sTrump didn't quite get through on Saturday,
(13:26):
you look at illegal immigration. Everyonetold Joe Biden this was going to
be the result if you kept thesepolicies or implemented them and you delete the
policies that were working under President Trump. And so they didn't change these policies
despite the implications of them. Theyput the policies in place that they put
in because of the implications. Andnow when we're trying to make sure that
(13:50):
no illegals vote in our elections,no dimmer. Well, okay, five
Democrats voted with us to say, yeah, you should have to prove that
you're a citizen when you register tovote. And part of why that's so
important is, you know, somany states, including Ohio, you have
motor voter laws, and so whensomeone goes into the Bureau motor vehicles,
they can get a license or whatever, but they're automatically being registered to vote.
(14:13):
In our state. Our Secretary ofState Frank LeRose will go through and
say, yeah, this person's legit, this person's not, and follow up
to be able to say, yeah, we either add this person to the
voter registration or we don't. Butin states like California and New York,
Illinois wherever, they're not doing thatwork. And you know the answer is,
oh, well, you know, you have to be a citizen to
(14:33):
vote in a federal election anyway. But you've got in California things saying,
well, if you're not a citizen, you can't vote in federal elections,
would you like us to send youa local ballot or whatever? So they
get ballot harvesting and every other thing. There's no real enforcement mechanism, and
so we're trying to get that doneahead of this election. There's so many
(14:56):
layers to this, Brian, Imean, HUD supposed to provide housing for
people that run into a time ofneed, the Housing and Urban Development Program.
They're out there trying to put ballotdrop boxes and do election registration stuff.
There are no dollars appropriated to HUDto do election activities. I wonder
why Democrats are trying to use HUTfor this purpose. And you mentioned enforcement
(15:18):
mechanism. Think about this on theheels of our most you know, moments
ago conversation about them not prosecuting criminalswho commit heinous crimes. What's the likelihood
they're actually going to go after someoneand prosecute them for casting an illegal vote.
Well, and the other part isthe harm is already there. Yes,
(15:39):
you know, the election is overdeposited. You can't find which ballot
that was and say you know, because you don't you have some ananimity after
the fact on the vote. Sothat has to be done on frond.
And you know, look, ourstate has voter idea. It's hard for
me to understand states that don't havevoter idea. I don't even know how
(16:00):
you can say you had it ona selection as you came and tell me
who voted. Excellent point, asalways with Congressman Warren Davidson. It's actually
the today is make America strong again. According to my Executi producer Joe Strekker,
who is an Internet research guru guy, and he found the answer to
the question. So make America strongagain, Congress War and Davidson's the man
to do that. Keep up thegreat work, Congressman. Thanks for the
(16:22):
time he spent with my listeners ofme today, and save travels on your
way back and enjoy the balance ofthe convention. We got our fingers crossed
out here. Yeah, we'll doThanks Brian, God bless you and all
