Five o five at fifty five KRC, the talk station. Happy Friday,
sesay a vacation. There is awoohoo for Friday, woo hoo for the
(00:27):
end of the Republican National Convention, which by all accounts went off pretty well
across the board. Even Democrats arekind of acknowledging that unity within the Republican
Party for a change, rallying aroundDonald Trump and Jade Vans and the message
of unity that was obviously at theforefront of Donald Trump' speech last night.
(00:47):
A very happy Friday to you BrianThomas here, and I've got a rundown
in front of me that just puta smile on my face from ear to
ear. Thank you Joe Strecker formaking Friday uh that much better here on
the fifty five KRC Morning Show.Check out the guests we got lined up.
I interviewed Brianna Marina from Morello BrionnaMorello, not Marino, that's Bernie
Moreno, Brionna Morello's podcast. Iinterviewed her after the show yesterday. We're
(01:10):
gonna get her thoughts about the RNCand JD vance of course prior to the
Trump speech. So when you hearher at six h five and can be
like, why how come she's nottalking about Donald Trump's acceptance speech. That's
why because I talked to her yesterdayright after the show Brionna Morello podcast.
You can find her on line atBriannamarello dot com. Tech Friday with Dave
Hadter and uh Oh got a massiveglobal problem on her hands late edition news
(01:34):
over the night of Apparently there's acrowd Strike, which is a cybersecurity firm.
They have software all over the worldused by what is described as scores
of industries to help protect against hackersand outside breaches. Well, there was
a massive massive outage of that particularpiece of software yesterday overnight rather and it
(01:56):
has impacted the entire globe. I'llgive you the on that Momentarily. We
will talk with Dave Hatter about that. Coming up at six thirty. We'll
also talk about City Fort Wright updatingits website for enhanced security reasons and apparently
hacker paid four hundred thousand dollars toerase data. Okay, we'll get the
details from Dave. Hat are alwaysinteresting with Dave, very important segment to
(02:19):
listen to during the week. Retiredmilitary friend of the show, friend of
the community, and if you maybehave had an active shooter training class,
probably taught by our guests. Atseven oh five, Bob Kattire, Bob
will be in studio to talk aboutassassination from the point of the assassin.
He's got all kinds of training inthat regard, So, Bob, retired
military, thank you so much foryour service to our country. Bob,
(02:40):
looking forward to having you in thestudio to talk about that issue. Also
weird, there is very little detailson this, but since he's talking about
assassination. Of course, obviously goingback to last Saturday, something Donald Trump
spoke about, he said, thelast time he'll talk about it. You
are a rather emotional account of thatparticular mone in time in his life.
Representative Matt Waltz out of a Republicanout of Florida. Uh, the murderer,
(03:06):
the would be murderer of Donald Trump, the murderer of that poor comparatory
guy. According to Matt Waltz,he this guy had three encrypted overseas accounts.
Huh. It was on Jesse Water'sPrime Time last night. He said
he spoke with agents of a fewhours ago. That will be last night.
Earlier in the day. The agentsare pissed, they're frustrated. They
(03:30):
repeatedly asked for resources. Donald Trumpisn't your normal average former president. He's
not Jimmy Carter sitting the old folkshome. Like the shooter had three I'm
just reading what he had to say. Other things are coming out, like
the shooter had three encrypted accounts overseas. At the same time we're having an
Iranian plot. I think this isgoing to go much broader, much deeper.
(03:54):
Pressed by Jesse Waters on that issue, Walt stole down and said crooks
had three crypto accounts the FBI wastrying to get access to, but they
have to work with liaisons overseas,he suggested. In order to do that,
we're going to get to the bottomof this beginning Monday. He said,
Okay, well, honestly, partof me wants to think he did
(04:15):
have three overseas accounts encrypted, soat least get some information on this guy,
his motivations, and whether he wasperhaps swayed by outside forces, perhaps
through social media. One of thestories we're going to talk about with tech
Frida's Day have had are more andmore parents not giving kids a smartphone,
which whether we get to it orI remains to be seen since we got
this new update on CrowdStrike. Butthat's a good idea keeping your children protected
(04:41):
from evil forces that lurk everywhere onthe internet. I was day represented Adam
Bird joins a program at seventh thirty. I told it's a good lineup.
Seven point thirty District sixty three's AdamByrd latest on HB one eighty three,
Ohio's bathroom Bill, followed by LantisTimmins Public High School League Reunion weekend.

(05:01):
Ibel from Help Squad back in studioat eight oh five. Brian's a hell
of a good guy, real charitableguy, and of course in his post
law enforcement career he's taken on helpingout those in need with the Help Squad.
We've had Help Squad on quite afew times. Apparently they've got a
movie out as well. Brian willgive us the deeds on that at eight
oh five. And then Gary Byrnewith his books Crisis of Character that was
(05:25):
from twenty sixteen and Secrets of theSecret Service twenty seventeen, expert on things
related to the Secret service. We'llget his thoughts on the attempt at assassination
of Donald Trump at a thirty greatlineup. Thank you again, Executi producer
Joestreker. I always enjoy hearing fromyou. I've got something to say.
Feel free to call five one three, seven four nine to fifty five hundred

five care seed dot com podcast whenyou can't listen live or want to hear
it again or send a link toyour friends. That's where you do that.
Why er at fifty five care sedot com com. I strongly encourage
you to get a copy of theiHeartMedia apps. You can listen wherever you
happen to be on your smart device. Yeah, this massive global tech outage,
(06:09):
I think it took. It startedthis morning really early, like it
at least was overnight airlines, medicalservices, banks, businesses all over the
world. And it really isn't agreat illustration of just the idea that everybody's
using one particular software platform this andI don't know a lot about it,
(06:30):
which is why I'm happy we havedave on it CrowdStrike so ubiquitous that the
entire world is shutting down as aconsequence of this crash. Designed and protecting
aainst hackers and breaches, but problemappears to result this problem that's manifested itself,
resulting in crashings of machines running MicrosoftWindows operating system. Over in France,
(06:58):
all kinds of media outlets reporting problems. The businesses that have an impact
that are reporting they aren't familiar tome, and I doubt they would be.
The TF one and Canal Plus amongthe most watch According to post on
X, they could not go onthe air. Media outlets can't go on
the air. We're all on stage, but there's a gigantic break down in
(07:21):
the control room making it impossible togo live. That's according to this I
guess is a news outle of TFone out as disrupted programming on Australian broadcasters
as well, including national broadcaster theAustralian Broadcasting Corporation SBS Australia. Special Broadcasting
Services Australia also had to go toInstagram to tell viewers that they were having
(07:45):
problems as well. Also in theUS, affecting nine to one one lines
in what are described as multiple states, cording to the US Emergency alert systems
on social media, which said thatpeople experiencing emergencies should call their local police
or fire department. Manchester Airport scenesof chaos reported online, long lines and
departure terminals. Only two of thedozen or so check encounters were even working,
(08:13):
and according to the announcement at thatairport, they were talking about worldwide
outages, lots of planes not goingto be taken off today. Globally,
Britain's National Health Service loss of accessto its computer systems, and a number
of hospitals and doctor's office which relyon the same internal IT systems the entire
(08:35):
systems shut down. Over to Northor South Korea, Soul's Insheon Airport Delta
having problems. I guess pilot cameout to talk to the group of passengers
attruning the problems too Microsoft platform. He said he had never had to make
an announcement like that in his career. Alaska call centers nine to one to
(08:56):
one specifically identified in one of thereports. Airport sports in Europe also experiencing
delays Amsterdam, Berlin, London,Paris, London, Gatwick, airport issuing
warnings for delays a check in urgingcustomers to arrive for their regular check in
times. Nonetheless, but I thinkthings are spiraling a little bit more out
of control. All these reports pouredin over the last say half hour.
(09:18):
Berlin's airport flights canceled for three hoursbetween seven am and ten am. Twelve
million passengers in the first six monthsof the year at that particular airport alone.
Other airports, Amsterdam having the sameproblem. South Africa's largest bank one
of them, anyway, Capitec Bank, twenty two million customers at some of
(09:39):
its services had also been disrupted becauseof well, this particular issue, so
again global, you know, itis real. It's a profound indication the
fragility of everything we can. Werely exclusively on the internet for so much
anymore, everything even for phone calls. You know it's going over an internet
(10:05):
line. You get your get yourphone system through your cable company. Now.
But when you see something like thishappen, maybe it's a cautionary tale.
Maybe we should learn something from it, or maybe we should I guess
plan ahead. Always think about thatkind of thing when you're faced with reality
like this. Anyway, tech Friday'sDave had to rules definitely address that and
(10:26):
give us and fill in all theholes to the issue and explain for us,
which is one of the reasons whyI love having them on the program

the weekend Joe Biden will step down. Wow, there's almost uniform reporting on
(10:48):
that across the spectrum, with thenoted notable example of a couple of people
really really close to Biden who sayhe's sticking with it. We'll see you
got that to talk about coming uphere toim careful fireplace in stove. It's
a great time to take care ofyour safety as well as doing your upgrades.

very efficient way of heating your homeup and again a fireplace insert. Maybe

mouth shut. Tom Jones five ona Friday and a happy one to you.
(12:39):
Yeah, they're all wining up,one by one by one, more
and more of the Democrats coming outof the woodwork kind of convinced Joe Biden
to drop out of the race.Barack Obama is uh well, directly and
indirectly. He's out there telling hisfriends who to get in touch with Biden.
He's hearing from a lot of hispeople, but of course Obama's people
are Biden's people. Lisa Apart alreadysends it they want Biden out. Chuckie
(13:03):
Schumer is already on record, atleast for the most part, not denying
that he's asked Biden to get out. Senator John Tester now the second Democratic
Senator to call for Biden to getout of the race. They've got some
internal polling. Democrats and Republicans alwayshave their own internal polling. So while
we have yes like the new Emersonpoll that was dropped yesterday showing Trump leading
across the board, including all ofthe swing states and increasing his lead,
(13:26):
Democrats also do their own internal polling, and detailed report compiled by Democrats shows
the president forecast to lose in anelectoral college landslide, resulting in even more
calls both publicly and privately, forhim to get out of the race.
According to the Wall Street Journal reportof the data was based on thousands of
(13:46):
voter surveys compiled by a Democratic firmcalled Blue Rose Research. Journal actually viewed
these polls. They show Biden losingnot only in all the swing states,
also behind and you know the ritingson the wall for Biden when you can
say this also behind in New Hampshire, Minnesota, New Mexico, Virginia,
and Maine. In New Jersey,of all places, go ahead, find
(14:11):
a bloor state New Jersey. Well, maybe New York, California. But
it's right up there now, isn'tit. It shows Biden leading Trump by
only two point nine percentage points inNew Jersey of all places, which I
suppose is probably within the margin oferror. That's got them freaked out.
Folks believe the election was stolen intwenty twenty. You know it was a
(14:31):
close race, wasn't it. Ignoringwhether or not it was stolen, of
course, the conspiracy theories are rollingaround out there. They're pushing here's one.
They're pushing Biden out strongly, andthey wont him out this weekend,
so they can sub out somebody whomay present a plausible scenario for beating Trump.
It's looking like Kamala Harris. Inother words, you and I and
(14:52):
the rest of the American people haveseen so many polls showing Donald Trump so
far ahead of Biden that they can'tsteal their way to victory without drawing the
ire and the attention of the Americanpeople generally. What are you kidding me?
There's no blanking way Biden could havewon this. Not a single poll
taken by any type of polster fromthe far left of the far right showed
(15:16):
he had a chance. In hell, you're not gonna dupe us. That's
this rumor swirling around. So withthat in mind, you got to get
rid of Biden, who's the dragon the ticket, in the hopes that
somebody else between now and what theconvention, the virtual nomination, the actual
convention, whatever, somebody else stepsin who polls better than Joe Biden gets
(15:37):
them closer to that sort of fiftyto fifty split there, so when they
steal the election, they may beable to get away with it. Now,
I don't necessarily subscribe to that, but if you believe that elections can
be stolen and you believe that thatmay have been what happened last time.
All of that makes sense what Ijust said and what I've read online.
(16:00):
Anyway, half of the voters andfifty two percent of swing voters that the
Democrats have been lying about the president'smental fitness. That also polled, and
it doesn't poll well for the Democrats, and it doesn't pull well for Kamala
Harris, which is a great point. If Kamala Harris, who obviously is
vice president, is most likely toget the nod, if Biden does in
(16:23):
fact relinquish his votes, then weall the Republicans generally speaking, are going
to be going at Harris because whoother than Harris was close to Biden or
more closer rather to Biden. Harrisis around him all the time. You
know, she's in the same buildingwith him a lot, She runs into
(16:45):
them a lot, they do alot of events together. She would know
almost more than anybody except for thosein Biden's inner circle, that he is
cognitively impaired and has been Thanks forbeing honest with the American people, Kamala,
we expect you to be honest nowas you're running for president. I
think you get some traction making thatpoint. So anyway, the numbers are
(17:07):
piling up on the Democrats actually comingout and saying, hey, it's time
to leave. Yesterday, Representative JimCosta, a California Democrat, quote,
for the good of the country,I think it is time for the president
to pass the torch to the nextgeneration to carry on the legacy he started.
And well, I appreciate his commitmentto public service in our country.
I believe President Biden should not seekreelection to another term. Close quote you
(17:33):
lost Tester as well, or AdamSmith as well, and Tester anyway,
lose the track of all the numbersthat are bracking up. So this week
and according to Axios it's this weekendwidely circulated report starting in Axious that at
least by Sunday he'll bow out.I got my popcorn out on that one.

(23:41):
Once her remains were found nearly twoyears later. Carter court, to
the Butler County Prosecutor Mike Moser, only pleaded guilty in voluntary manslaughter to avoid

testimony and comments from his father andsister a little heartwarming there. Judge Daniel

Howley called Carter's decision to plead guiltycalculated. Judge said, ultimately there was
a plead deal, and there wassome degree of responsibility that was accepted by
the defendant, but it was calculatedlack of any true explanation through the body

that there could be genuine remorse withthat acknowledgment of what took place. Anyway,

He can call though, if youprefer talk about politics or maybe Donald
Trump speech last night, which ofcourse is related to politics. In the
meantime, lots of naked in thistoday's stack is stupid, so let's get
back to it. Musician, amusician from Jackson, Mississippi, staying in
an Airbnb in Saint Louis, wasshot on Friday after allegedly breaking through a

He was naked and screaming that hewas going to kill everyone there as
this tradition. Prosecutor's charge Patrick McKinneyRankin thirty seven with phonies for burglary and
property damage on Saturday denied by AndyHearing in the courtroom. McKenny Rankin's Airbnb

of the family members living in theapartment on Park Avenue heard range noises coming
from the room that shares the wallwith the rented airbnb, and the family
member went to investigate. He sawan arm sticking out through the drywall.

A man spotted near the rear carpark of Samarez Park. This is
from the BBC man spotted half nakedin the bushes, according to police,
(35:00):
would get deliberate penalties so we couldget into the penalty box all by himself
and danged if he wouldn't. Servicehad received multiple calls Friday and Sunday evenings
about a man who was naked fromthe waist down acting suspiciously near the rear

Police said it was described as awhite man between sixteen and twenty years old,

a gray or navy hoodie but nounderwear or trousers. Which part is it?
Joe Dog lovers out there, here'sone for you. In Manchester,

Why are you doing that victim's nest, you said, Well, when
he opened the door, he gothit by a brick. There was a
fully naked man right here, hesaid. Ned Army was talking taking Caine

five Cars Morning Show. Breon Morella, former Fox News NEWSMAC Local News MLB
producers, also spent several years reportingon the issues that matter most. And
after Fox reading to put her onunpaid leave for not getting the COVID shot,
(38:44):
she said the hell with it,left corporate media and went on her
own, and she's doing a greatjob. She is a truth seeker.
She amplifies her findings through her podcast, which you can find online. Go
to Brionnmarrello dot com. There sheis right there. I'm looking at the
web page. Welcome back to thefifty five Carsy Morning Show. I've from
the r n c Brianna Morell. It's good to have you back on.
(39:04):
It's great to be honest you thankyou so much, my pleasure. So
the mood of the air from allaccounts. We've got several local folks,
one Claremont County commissioner who's been reportingfrom the floor. We have a former
trustee who's been there all week reportinglive. I heard from Congressman Davidson about
the event THEES just the other day, and now I to hear from you.
Is the air as filled with energyas it sounds and appears to be
(39:29):
by all accounts, Brianna, Yeah, it does. You know, it
feels like, you know, theSuper Bowl. Honestly, it really does.
The R and C's done a greatjob first off, which is organizing
this and planning everything out. Ithas been incredible. Everyone is extremely excited.
You know, we're heading into November, and obviously we do have the
upper hand as Republicans right now becauseDemocrats are in a debacle and it's entertaining
(39:52):
to just keep watching at this pointbecause it rarely does happen where they're so
openly divided. But it has beenincredible. I have to say, I
have never experienced anything like this, like you decided. I've worked in sports,
I've worked in media for years. This seems to be just a completely
different experience. Everyone is excited.Obviously, the event took place last week
(40:13):
and we're absolutely devastating, but thereseems to be kind of like this inspirational
feeling in the air right now.President Trump showing up and showing out.
I mean, just his energy andhe steps into the arena is absolutely incredible.
He is just he has the peoplewith him, and that's really what's
important here. You know, everyoneis with him. And it was incredible
(40:34):
to see even his granddaughter speaking andspeaking about the man that she knows and
the man who the media portrayed isnot true. It's just it's incredible to
witness. I have to say, well, i'd have to see a lot
of that energy. You started offby pointing out how the Democrats are in
a state of disarray, and Ithink that's a gross understatement. I mean,
they are just losing their collective minds. But it's for two reasons.
First off, I think a lotof the energy that there RNC is coming
(40:58):
from the fact that they are fallingapart. They have no backbench. Joe
Biden struggling to even be the nomineein the face of the more and more
Democrats that come forward and tell them, dude, you've got to step down
for the good of the country. But more fundamentally, more fundamentally, on
every single policy point that you cancome up with, the Republicans are on
the right side of the ledger.I mean, DEI sucks. Nobody likes
(41:20):
that it hasn't worked out all thecountry or the companies across the country are
throwing it out because it's terrible formorale, it's terrible for their business model.
We have the more and more accountsof the army incorporating DEI and blame
being laid at the foot of DEIfor the numbers of recruits going into the
toilet. We've got failed criminal justicesystems. We have the liberal policies destroying
(41:44):
these blue cities and states that becomesanctuary cities and states while they drop efforts
to prosecute people for crimes, crimesrunning rampant, the streets are a mess.
That's a loser for them. Theborder itself is a loser. The
immigrants are overwhelming our system. They'retaking away resources from citizens. That's a
loser. What could they even possiblyrun on if they had a candidate that
(42:06):
knew what day it was Brianna fearmonitoring. I mean, that's what you're
seeing play out right now, thefear monger right democracy. Yeah, and
they and they continue to push theabortion issue even though I mean Republicans understand
right now, is at the timeto discuss it, because again, although
it's controversial for conservatives, obviously wewant to push it, we have to
(42:27):
win over those in the middle, and so you have to do so properly,
just by by you know, justkind of heating the line a little
bit and not going into that. But that's what Democrats are trying to push
that. But you can't even that'san easy one, and I keep putting
it out. On a federal level, the Supreme Court has said the Constitution
does not have anything by way oflanguage or authority in the federal government to
(42:52):
them to have any say in it. It's everybody at the convention should be
going, no, don't even talkabout abortion, because this is a federal
election. We're here for, nota state election. Go back and talk
to your local representatives and state senatorsabout that one, because on a federal
level, that is over as atopic. Period. Yeah, and that's
exactly the point. You know,President Trump already said too, this is
(43:14):
a state issue, this isn't afederal issue. And so it's really all
Democrats have to run on right nowbecause most Americans, regardless of your party
affiliation, could feel the financial burdenthat we've had to endure the President Joe
Biden, and that really is justthe reality that we're all kind of working
with right now. You know,Americans are well aware they were better off
under President Trump than they are rightnow under Joe Biden. And it's pretty
(43:35):
impressive though, because when you comparethe fact that, you know, we
just saw Joe Biden get taken outby COVID, pulled off a campaign trail
with COVID nineteen, which is obviouslya cold, a head cold at this
point, right and then we sawPresident Trump take a bullet to the head
and instantly pop back up and tellingAmerican people to fight. I don't think
they have a chance. We justsaw one of the most egreigious, pariser
(44:00):
sick events take place in front ofour own eyes last weekend YEA, and
Americans now have to make a decision. Do you go with someone who's weak
and can't even battle a cold,or do you go with somebody who just
took a bullet to the head andbounce our back up. I think it's
pretty obvious what's going on, andI think the American people are just fed
up. I mean, how manymore times are we going to continue to
watch, you know, Joe,body make excuse up their excuse, utter
excuse. Everyone sees it for whatit's what it is right now, and
(44:22):
I think we're all ready to youknow, push back and kind of and
take November. But everyone needs toshow up and they can't take this for
granted, of course, no questionabout it. Let us underscore that,
folks. I know my listeners areas excited as you sound like you are.
Everybody at the convention's excited. Itdoes look like it is really firmly
going in Trump's direction. But don'tcount your chickens before their hatch. Get
(44:42):
out and vote and make sure youvote all those down ballot races that are
so important. That's the other thingthat the Democrats are starting to fall apart
because they see the presidential races havinga profound potential impact on the House in
the Senate, and they're afraid they'regoing to lose both. Yeah, yeah,
I mean it's quite possible. Youknow, if Republicans do what they
should do, and sometimes it doesn'talways happen, but they do what they
(45:05):
should do, they should be ableto take both. I really don't see
a reason why they can. Yeah, we were thinking that in twenty twenty
two with a red wave that didn'thappen, But you know again, yeah,
that's why we need to keep focuson the big picture moving in.
What was your reaction to jd.Vance as the selection by Trump as the
vice presidential running mate. Yeah,so I think that is the four that
(45:27):
he was a member of the finalround of it, these picks, I
think he was the best out ofthe four. You know. My feeling
for it has always been that PresidentTrump ney to selects somebody who the deep
state will fear more than him, because we all know that they're coming after
him. Yeah, and they needto know the next man in line.
It is going to be even worse, and I feel like that should have
always been kind of the way.So I don't know if jd. Vance
has that kind of fear factor.I know those in the left are saying
(45:50):
he does, but that's more fearmongering than anything. I think he's a
good person. I think that hisspeech went well yesterday, sorry, two
days ago, his VP speech sowell, you know, we'll see how
it plays out. I think he'lldestroy Kamala Harris in a debate. I
also appreciate the Trump camp hunting outthat press release the other day in regard
to you Kamala Harris saying that she'sready to debate him, but we all
(46:12):
know Joe Biden is not going tobe the final person on the ticket,
and so you know, the campaigntooking some fun at Dene and saying,
you know, you picked who yourVP is going to be first, and
then we'll talk about this debate.I think that was pretty laughable, but
it just shows the battle right nowthat's going on on the left, and
so I think that's that's worth discussingat this point. Fighter Online Brionnamarrella dot

He just sent me in a Facebookinstant message saying, well, three

one, Dave. Welcome back,Man, a great time to have you
on, in perfect opportunity to dealwith a real time going on right now
situation, the global outage apparently causedby a crowd Strike software upgrade. Welcome
back, Dave. It's good tohave you back on in perfect timing.
Yeah, always good to be here. Brian. It's kind of interesting because
I woke up this morning and Inoticed that I had a whole bunch of
(57:27):
text messages that unusual at you know, six o'clock in the morning. And
when I started looking, I'm like, huh, it's a whole bunch of
media people. I wonder what's goingon. So that I go look,
I'm like, this is not goodat all. So now we'll tell Let's
start with what the hell is CrowdStrike, and then you can explain to my
listeners what's going on right now.So, CrowdStrike is a company that makes
(57:52):
security software. They're one of themajor players out there, other big players.
So you know, keep in mindyou have people like micro who deliver
their own security solutions, but somepeople don't like them. And you know,
admittedly, for a long time,Microsoft was way behind the people who
specialized in that sort of thing. So there's a lot of different players in
(58:13):
this game. Names that people wouldknow would be things like Norton or McAfee.
Right, they've been around for along time in this space making what
in the old days would have traditionallybeen called antivirus software that has expanded substantially
over the years in terms of itscapability. It does more than that,
but those are probably the two mostcommon names the average persons would know,
maybe Trend, micro Bitdefender of ass. There's many players in this space,
(58:37):
but in sort of the high endenterprise space. Honestly, the sort of
solutions we generally would try to deliverto our customers. You've got players like
Crowdstrikes something to one is probably oneof their biggest competitors, and many companies
will deploy this type of software eitherinstead of or in addition to the native
solutions that Microsoft has on Windows.Right, so you're running Windows on your
(58:59):
system, you think that the Windowswe'll call it virus or anti hacking software,
whatever isn't good enough, you installCrowdStrike after selecting from among the various
large market vendors. You install it, and then you find out they do
an upgrade on it, and thewhole system crashes and shows you the Blue
Screen of Death. Yeah, BlueScreen of Death has always been a funny
(59:21):
name because anyone that's ever gotten it, so you know you're running Windows,
it shuts down for whatever reason, then gives you some cryptic error message,
and you know, in most caseswhen that happens, you just reboot and
go on about your way. Andsometimes you'll get into the doom loop where
you can't get out of the BlueScreen of Death, which you know obviously
is a real problem on that machine, because at minimum you're going to have
some downtime while you try to unwindwhatever's causing that, and a worst case
(59:45):
scenario, you may have to reimagethe machine, and if you don't have
a backup for whatever's on it,that can be pretty problematic. From what
I can tell, they did anupdate. Now, you know, the
news is still pouring out on this, and as I understand it, it
sounds like most, if not allcrowds strike. Customers around the world are
(01:00:05):
currently experiencing outages. Yeah, thisis bangs. These are broadcasting companies,
airlines, airports. I mean it, it's just across multiple important industries.
Yeah. Well, and I guessthe first thing I think this illustrates,
Brian is as I have said onyour show many many times over the last
(01:00:27):
ten years, and i'd say topeople all the time, and people I
think just will not take it seriously. This demonstrates how dependent we are now
on digital technology and software in particularbecause you know, as a recovering software
engineer, my old joke would alwaysbe, well, you know, hardware
computers are just expensive heaters. Withoutsoftware, they don't really do much,
(01:00:47):
you know. And as our entiresociety becomes increasingly digital and increasingly relies on
software, whether it's the computer onyour desktop, the servers that make Amazon
work, the software and you're smartTV, it's everywhere now. We rely
on it to bank, we relyon it to work, to educate ourselves,
entertain ourselves. You know, thisis a lot more than Okay,
(01:01:12):
I installed some software and it wentbad and I lost all my family photos.
You've got outages across the world atthis point, so I hope what
comes out of this. Well, first off, I hope the CrowdStrike is
able to quickly fix this. Oneof the things that I think is going
to be interesting and I'm really concernedabout. Without having any specific detail,
I'm trying to look into what CrowdStrikethemselves are saying about this on their site.
(01:01:36):
Now is okay when you install? And again, I'm just going to
loosely call this anti virus because Ithink most people more or less knows what
that means. You know, itoperates at a very low level inside your
computer because it has to figure outall the different ways bad guys might attack
it. So you know, typicallyif you have something like an antivirus system
(01:01:57):
or package go bad, it canbe hard to work around that. And
unless you have some sort of remotemanagement and monitoring tools, if the machine
won't boot, I'm not sure howyou're going to apply or apply a patch
to it. Oh, because ifthis truly is CrowdStrike related, CrowdStrike fixes
their software. If my computer won'tboot, yeah, how can I am
(01:02:21):
going to apply the update? Wahwah, wah wah. And you said,
and I think the qualification came fromthe fact that it may have been
an outside hacking job. You said, if it came from CrowdStrike, meaning
CrowdStrike fixes it on its end becauseof its mistake doing this upgrade. But
if it's some outside entity that ruinedthe crowd strike operating mechanism or however it
(01:02:43):
works, then they got a broaderproblem on your hands, don't you.
Well yeah, because I mean,I'm hope hopefully, Brian, this is
not some sort of supply chain attack, So you may recall CrowdStrike, right,
I'm sorry, not CrowdStrike, SolarWinds. The Solar Winds supply chain
attack, and many agencies and expertshave been worrying about supply chain for a
long time. I know we won'thave time in this yet, we're pretty
(01:03:06):
much out, but go ahead.Well, So, bottom line is,
if you're a software vendor and Ican break into you, I can potentially
deploy backdoors into that software that rollout to your customers, or I can
potentially plan some kind of logic bombin it, so when it rolls out
to your customers, it causes theexact sort of problem we're seeing here.
I'm not saying that's the case.I'm just saying it's a strong possibility.
(01:03:28):
So if this is hopefully just aninnocent error they made, you know,
that's one thing. But if let'ssay the PRC got in the crowd strike
software and did this on purpose, well that's going to be much more difficult
to fix. And if you don'tget to the root cause you know,
it's going to be even more problematicbecause it could happen again. So now
I know it is already impacted myI mean, my list one of my
(01:03:50):
listeners has already had his flight tolate three and a half hours in this
country. So we've got that goingon. That's a global issue right there.
Let's pause. We'll bring Day backand find out about why this city
fort right updated its website to gowith the dot gov and four hundred thousand
dollars to erase data. So saitha hacker six thirty seven. Right now,
Foreign exchange gets your imported car traditionallyAsian or European manufacturers, you know
(01:04:13):
who I'm talking about, the Audi'sand the Beamers and the Porsches and the
well the range are over. Imean, you go on and on and
on, code to the other sideof the pond and start talking about Kiyas
and Hondas and Toyotas. All ofthe manufacturers get your car fixed for less
money, but you'll leave with afull warranty on both parts and service.
(01:04:34):
That foreign exchange is all about keepingyou with extra money compared to the dealer.
The a SC sort of my mastertechnicians will fix your car. You
do leave with the full warrants. You have nothing to worry about, and
you get something to look forward tothat. You've got money in your pocket
you wouldn't have had had you takenit to the dealer. I've saved heap
loads of money. We got multipleimported cars in the Thomas household. All
(01:04:56):
of them have gotten the foreign exchangeexperience and all have resulted and money savings
for us. And the same thingwill be true with you. That's the
Westchester location. Take the Tyllersville legs. It off of seventy five had East

to away from the CrowdStrike global problemin the outages face with that, what
about the city of Fort Right, why do they update their website to a
dot gov Yeah, Brian, thisis kind of an interesting story because top
level domains are dot com, dotnet, that sort of thing. So
(01:05:43):
when you think of a domain name, when you think of accessing the web,
you know, fifty five krc dotcom. For years, we had
fort Wright dot com because that domainwas registered way back in the late nineties.
And you know, there were onlya few top level domains. Then
some organizations, some governments have likedot word or something like that. They're
all over the map, especially ifthey've been around for a long time with
(01:06:04):
some sort of Internet presence. SISA, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency,
a few years ago, took overthe dot gov domain. So now,
and this is one of the mainreasons for the switch, now you cannot
register a dot gov domain until youprove your identity to them. In the
(01:06:24):
old days, you know, youcould register various domains. About the only
domain it would be hard to registersomething then back way back in the day
would be dot mill because it wasused pretty much exclusively for the military.
Right. By them taking that overand putting that additional barrier in there,
it makes it much harder for abad actor to create a lookalike website or
(01:06:45):
a doppelganger type domain. Let's sayI want to register Fort Wright, but
I want to replace the I witha one or something like that. You
know, we see this all thetime. They owe and fort with a
zero because they know that to thenaked eye, that's going to be hard
to see and people don't pay thatmuch attention. So if they wanted to
register that with a dot gov extension, they would literally have to go through
(01:07:10):
a process where they verify their theirauthority and legitimacy to register that domain.
Do that makes sense? That makesperfect sense. Question will they do a
like cleaning up the voter rolls review, go backwards and find out if everybody
who's got one of these is legitimate. I think that's in the process,
but I'm not entirely sure. Theysay they've had control of this for a
(01:07:34):
couple of years and have recently startedreaching out. And the reason why I
wanted to talk about this today notso much to promote fort right, but
realistically speaking, you know, Ihope all your listeners out there will look
into this and realize that they shouldbe reaching out to their local officials and
making the switch. Now, ourdot com domain still works, but we're
going to sort of wean ourselves offof it over time. The idea here
(01:07:57):
though, because it's it's really atwo part it's a make this switch which
went very smoothly for us, frankly, and you can email me now at
dhatter at fort right ky dot govinstead of the old dhatter at fort right
dot com. It basically it's theprocess is free. It costs you nothing
to get the dot gov domain. You just have to go through the formal
(01:08:18):
process. You know, you mightexperience some nominal labor costs because someone will
have to make the switch. Andthen it's an educational process because yes,
someone could still spoof us. Thisis not foolproof. It doesn't you know,
raise the bar through the sky.But as people, if every government
would do this and people realize, wait a minute, I got an email
(01:08:40):
from my local government agency telling meI have overdo taxes or whatever whatever it
is. If it did not comefrom a dot gov domain, you can
guarantee it's fake. Now just becauseit did doesn't mean they haven't spoofed it
somehow. But if it didn't,you can absolutely positively guarantee it's fake.
Does that make sense? That's tome so so hopefully I'm trying to raise
(01:09:01):
awareness about this because again, theprocess is easy, it's free from the
beginning the dot gov domain perspective, and if every local government will do this
and put out some education and raiseawareness about this, it would make us
all a lot more secure for verylittle effort. So it's a good thing.
I'm glad they did this, andyou know, I'm just trying to
(01:09:24):
raise awareness so that other people willreach out and get this done. You've
done that, which is good, which is what you and interest it do
all the time. One more withDave Hatter. Apparently the price for erasing

(01:10:51):
Bob Guitarre, our well friend ofthe show and a friend of listener lunch
of course, friend of the community. The meantime, we've got Dave Hatter
from intest I ontoing our Tech Fridayand we have a hacker claiming you got
paid four hundred thousand dollars to RaSEsensitive data. Who made the payment?
Yeah, this is uh, thisis an interesting, interesting story, Brian,
(01:11:15):
because first off, you know,it's one thing if you have a
ransomware attack, your data is encryptedand the hackers say, okay, we
want you to pay us x amountof dollars in order to decrypt this data
so your systems will run again.Right, happens every day once you already
have my data, and then yousay now so again. In this case,
(01:11:38):
this appears that you know they haddata stolen, and it's at and
t you question you know this. This has been another major breach that's been
in the news quite a bit asof late because a large amount of data
was stolen. Then even if you'renot an AT and T customer. If
you were called by an ATT customeror texted by an AT and T customer
during that period of time, yourdata is in this breach. But apparently
(01:12:03):
the data was stolen from a thirdparty platform called Snowflake. At and T
was using this for some sort ofdata analysis or something. And apparently AT
and T, this is what thereports say, AT and T paid four
hundred thousand dollars to have hackers erasethe data. Well, again, you
would trip my data, shut mysystems down. I might pay you the
(01:12:24):
ransom because it's the only way Ican make my systems run again. In
this case, they just stole thisdata from the third party. They didn't
encrypt anything, they didn't shut anythingdown. How in the heck would I
trust them to erase the data nomatter what I paid. It's it's like
it's like even a copy of thephotograph from back in the old days.
Do you have the negative? Letme have the negative? Right? Yeah?
(01:12:45):
I mean I think back to thoseshow like you know, rock Profiles
or something. Well, I've gotI've got drops ready, so if anything
bad happens to me, you know, the mails will go out from somewhere
else. Yeah, my attorney's gota letter. He's got instructions to send
it or to open it if anythinghappens to me. Yeah, multiple copies.
So the breach or the hack itselfis pretty significant because even though at
(01:13:08):
based on the data that AT andT has released so far, they use
the term quote unquote all customers forabout a two week period of time,
so you're talking one hundred million customersroughly two point five million business customers per
their stats. And if you wantto see the latest on this, you
can go to at T dot comslash data. I can't think of what
(01:13:31):
a less. They've got a linkset up where you can read the latest.
But bottom line is they don't haveper AT and T the content of
the calls or the text, butthey know how many people, how many
calls you made to a certain personduring that time. And when people say,
well so what okay, I canlook up phone numbers through public sources
and figure out who they belong to. I can figure out that a certain
(01:13:55):
phone number might be your bank, for example. So now when I text
you or I call you from thatnumber, it's probably going to show up
in your contact list. You're gonnarecognize it. You're going to answer the
call, maybe you're gonna see thetext came from USAA or Fifth Third or
whatever. The whole point being itcreates an air of authenticity and legitimacy,
(01:14:15):
and especially if they want to targetpeople, right, they can figure out
who you are because they can lookyour number up from public sources. They
can figure out who you called orwho's calling you. And again, this
isn't like one person sitting there withbillions of records of data doing is they're
writing programs to manipulate all this dataand figure this out and then use it
for targeted attacks on people. Youknow, one of those numbers might be
(01:14:38):
the Hamlin County Sheriff's Office. Sonow you get a call or you get
a text peers to come from theHamlin County Sheriff's Office. Could I go
to the Hamlin County Sheriff's Office andfind a real deputy's name on their website?
Yes I can. Can I impersonatethat deputy and tell you you need
to do some sort of thing.Yes I can, And it's gonna seem
much more realistic because it came froma number that you know. Does that
(01:15:00):
make sense it makes perfect sense, and a part of me wants to think
I would just ignore all of itbecause that's but that's the mode I'm in,
Dave. I mean, after talkingwith you so many times, you
know, I always point out Inever ever ever answer the phone. If
I don't recognize a number, andI recognize a number, I'm still I'm
still under a cloud of suspicion whenI pick it up, even if I
recognize it, because of everything you'vesaid. Well, and that's unfortunately,
(01:15:24):
Brian, that's the right attitude totake exadly. Yeah, because at this
point, because of these kinds ofbreaches that keep happening, you know,
well, again, I like you, I don't answer call. I don't
know fortunately for me, and Ilook at like I did the tax IF
with I r S, with theFBI, with law enforcement, all the
the real red flag warning. I'mconcerned because they could you know, engage
(01:15:47):
in corporate seeings or you know, harm me in some way, shape or
form. I'm going to ignore anythingI get from from any of those agencies
or entities because I don't have anyinvolvement with them, and I've been paying
my taxes now religiously and regularly everyyear since I earned a salary. So
I have nothing to worry about inthe sense that you know you always say,
well, even if you think youhave nothing to worry about, but
see that I have nothing to worryabout in my life relative to law enforcement
(01:16:11):
or taxes of these important agencies.I know that, ergo, I'm going
to conclude that this is a lie, that this is contrived, that what
they're telling me is just not true, and ignore it. They won't come
and see me. They know whereI live, right, I know we're
almost out of time, and Iagree with everything you said. But real
quick story. So recently it gota loan for a car and there were
some problems with the loan documents. We had to go through the process again.
(01:16:34):
And I can tell you when thecar dealership called me, and this
will be a perfect example. Theysee these numbers, I get a call
from the dealership. Apparently, youknow, they could have hacked into their
systems. I don't know, butI got to tell you I was unbelievable,
sceptable. I'm like, yeah,right, I'll I'll get back in
touch with you. And then youknow, I went back, looked up
numbers, called people I knew therefrom numbers that I had previously spoken to
(01:16:58):
them on before. Right, Isaid, hey, I got this thing.
I'm not buying it. You're goingto have to prove to me this
is real before I sign any kindof new documents or send you anything.
But right, And it worked outit was legit. But you, yeah,
you proved it was. You wentthrough the extra step to prove that
you could do it with confidence. So and that's what the point is,

You've given me some lessons, andyou have an interesting and professional perspective
on what happened last Saturday involving thisattempted assassination of Donald Trump. Good to
(01:19:46):
have you here. Thank you,Brian, I appreciate it, and thanks
for letting me pontificate a little bitabout what we heard and saw. Well,
let's hit the ground running here.I know you do not represent the
Administration Department of Homeland Security the DoD. You're not speaking on behalf of US
Secret Service. You are speaking though, from your decades of experience involving snipers
(01:20:09):
and the preparation for it, likean event like this, or for dealing
for it, dealing with it incombat military situations. Correct. I started
shooting in nineteen seventy seven in themilitary and the Army as a snipe trained
sniper and then a sniper instructor.I was actually trained by the Marine Corps,
so I have an eighty five toforty one mos or military Occupational Specialty
(01:20:30):
from the US Marine Corps as asniper. And then we started the Infantry
Sniper School at Fort Benning and thenI continued shooting my entire life and still
to this day. The Infantry Sniperschool that I'm going to be going to
in September, well, no,that's the Navy Seal Sniper School, and
that even better. You know, all those guys are the true bad a
(01:20:55):
people and it's an honor and aprivilege to be in there in their locale.
Well, I am so looking forwardto that event any and I'll be
taking a day off of work thisSeptember for that reason alone, and of
course it's well worth using vacation daysfor that'd be like my it's like bucket
list item. Anyway, let's talkabout the advanced site visit there. We've
(01:21:17):
learned a lot over the past weekabout preparation before the event. They get
in there early, they look ateverything, and what's your perception of how
things unfolded versus what would normally happenif in oppress. Well, well,
first of all, former presidents geta smaller protective footprint than you know,
the president, the vice president, you know, the you know, Speaker
(01:21:39):
of the House, no sense. But the interesting thing is because and we
only found out after the fact, the Iran potential that former President Trump was
augmented with a second counter sniper team, which was the ones who actually engaged
(01:21:59):
the shooter on the rooftop. Butdoesn't that alert so everyone knew ahead of
time that the Iranians were planning onkilling and that's why they gave him an
additional detail you said, attributed tothe death of this murder. If they
had not been there, we canall just guess what might have happened.
But doesn't that make it worse froman evaluation of the secret service perspective?
(01:22:23):
They had this advanced warning and yetlook at what happened, And look at
where this kid was able to go, Look where he was perched. I
mean, on and on and on. It makes it just that much more
of a failure, doesn't it.Well, there's a you know, and
I'm not here to disparage the SecretService. I'll say that they were doing
they were doing what they were trainedto do, and they're and they're extremely
highly trained. However, a couplethings to think about the building, the
(01:22:45):
AGR that Glass Industries building actually hadthe Butler County Swat snipers in the building
inside. So if I am lookingat the building and I see what may
be a uniformed person climbing on topof the roof, I might think it's
one of the Sheriff's deputies overlooking thesite. You might, but I would
(01:23:12):
want to verify that, and thecommunication becomes key. That's yeah, because
that's what we were all screaming aboutwhen we were in a period of speculation.
Now the police officer who climbed ontothe roof may now be a hero
for having distracted this kid enough thathe was errant with his shot, which
I know we're going to talk about. So everyone is attributing him to being
a coward. But in my Iwas just asking out loud, well,
(01:23:34):
if he saw the kid, hewas unable to take care of him himself,
isn't he on the Comm's device screamingat the Secret Service. There's an
armed punk on top of the roofand that person was a purchase of interest
for at least couple of hours.Y yeah, for at least a period
of time, and then we gotfound thee finder kid. He's on top
(01:23:56):
of the roof with a gun.Oh right, right now. Counter Sniper
Team one, which is the onethat everyone saw and the pictures that are
on with the one person kneeling andthe one person laying down, was not
the the sniper team that engage them. It was the second sniper team,
the one that was augmented just atthis rally, who actually had line of
sight on the roof and engage theshooter. The first ones if you see
(01:24:20):
them flinch when we watched the video, what they're what they're doing is they
thought they were receiving fire because theywere hearing the super supersonic cracks of the
rounds being fired. They they didnot have line side. All they could
see was the top of a headand they could not see the weapon,
so they could not engage. Youknow, somebody on a roof who has
(01:24:44):
a head and they can't see anythreat. They're local. Should they have
been perched higher up or shouldn't thathave been dealt with? And I right,
they did have line side, butit was it was still a tough
shot, and they had a differenttype of equipment and they did a fantastic
job of doing that. But again, that entire building was the site of
(01:25:10):
the Butler County Sheriff's swat team. Now, remember the leading local law enforcement
was Pennsylvania State Police. So wethink, I think, and I don't
know yet, we'll find this out, is that the Pennsylvania State Police were
the lead agency in comm with theSecret Service, and the Butlers were not
(01:25:30):
the third. They were maybe asubordinate of the Pennsylvania State Police. And
so we had a little miscommunication there, and then the controversy of what was
in that building makes them hesitate alittle bit. Well, once the shooting
started, then things started happening, and the pre work, the highest point
(01:25:54):
in there was the water tower. And now you're just starting to hear a
little bit about the water tower, and todays I woke up today. It
was the first day anybody who's beenmentioning the water tower. I never even
noticed that. I've seen so manyphotographs of the fairgrounds there. Always the
focus has been on that AGR buildingbecause that's where he took the squeeze around
off and that that water tower's bigas life. And you did the measurements
(01:26:15):
on this, that's like three hundredyards out correct, Yeah, and it
was just one hundred and fifty toto the top of that the top of
the roof of AGR. That wasa one floor with the roof, and
apparently Butler County Sheriff's Department was setup in the second floor of the adjacent
building. That would be higher thanthat roof, Yes, it would.
Could they not look down, Well, there's a wonderful question. Could they
(01:26:38):
not have looked down? Or theymight have thought that was one of their
guys, or they there's a lotof there's a lot of controversy in all
the what ifs, the whole mighthave thought it was one of their guys.
Things I just don't buy into, simply because of what I would perceive
to be a high level of communication. Secret Service has got the lead on
this. They're assigning different law enforcespin agencies to handle the outer perimeter.
(01:27:00):
They've got the inner perimeter. They'regonna know ahead of time where the legitimate
law enforcement snipers or people are atany given time. I would imagine,
so if they if they aren't assigningsomeone to the top of the building because
the slope is just a little toomuch. Bob, Yeah, it's including
(01:27:23):
the two sniper teams on a slopemore slope roof than that building. That's
it. I can't believe she actuallysaid that out loud, But in any
event that there's no one supposed tobe up there that without like, you
know, a police officer radioing inbecause Okay, I'm an officer, I'm
going to go up on top ofthe building. I'm gonna call them and
let them know I'm going up there. So absent someone you know saying it's
(01:27:44):
one of our guys on comms, don't shoot him. He's supposed to be
up there. What I'm seeing inmy head if i'm Secret Service, like
that's a bad guy. We gottawe gotta deal with them. This is
great more with retired Colonel Bob Katarre, who he spend his life shooting people
at the distance some fifteen fifty fivekrec the talk station more in a minute.
(01:28:04):
I'm speaking of firearms twenty two threeRoute forty two between Mason and Leven.
It's a perfect opportunity to be tomention that twenty two three best indoor

it's like to get shot. Yougot shot with Ak's right, You've got
(01:30:18):
the bullet bullet wounds to prove it. Yes, So you mean the experience
of getting shot does not sound likeit would be fun? No, it
does not. Yeah, right, all right, I just had to put
the emphasis on that he does havetwo pur purple hearts among his multitude of
decorations. All right. I wouldhave tried to dispel the whole conspiracy theory
(01:30:38):
idea if this was an inside job, as so many people are are are
opining online. We all know whatopinions are like, and that's im Meedi
can cleue you. We see allof this failure. But if it was
an inside job, the only thingI could come up with. By way
of explanation would be that if theyknew this kid was going to try this,
(01:30:59):
and and then they just intentionally werenegligent with the setup and the prep
and the follow through, just hopingthat it might work out. If they
wanted Trump dead right now, thatshows failure on even a higher level to
me. So if they really wantedthe job done, somebody more accomplished at
shooting. And that's why I wantedto move over to because you have a
(01:31:20):
theory on how it ended up howDonald Trump got It ended up hitting in
the ear, sure, And it'sreally very simple if he was if the
round was heading towards the center ofhis head and he turned his head left
or right, it pivots on thecenter of your head, you know,
the first and second cervical vertebrae, the atlanto axial joint. It doesn't matter.
(01:31:43):
He would have been hitting the centerof the head. The problem was
with the interruption by the person whoclimbed with two hands trying to get on
the roof because he didn't know thatthere was a ladder somewhere, and when
he had a weapon pointed at him, immediately fell off off. And from
what I understand it was a ButlerCounty Sheriff's deputy and there was a Secret
(01:32:03):
Service agent underneath him as the bottomhalf of the ladder lifting him up onto
the or trying to lift him uponto the roof when he immediately got into
his prone position. A combination ofa hastily pulled shot with a quick trigger
finger right hand shooter pulling the righttrigger finger. If he jerks the trigger,
(01:32:25):
the gun will move to the leftand moved down. The other thing
is, if anyone has ever huntedor heard the term buck fever, the
idea of taking that shot. You'readrenaline is pumping and you pull the trigger
too quickly, so the round, instead of going in the center of President
Trump's head, went to the leftof him, which was towards the right
ear and down and was only abouta centimeter or so from entering his brain.
(01:32:51):
Had his head been turned to theleft and he was looking at the
crowd, he still would have beenhit. And a trained experience sniper wouldn't
make that amateur mistake. Absolutely notso so. I mean, if it
were a conspiracy, go get ago get one of those arrangers, a
(01:33:13):
snack bar, you know, andthey go and they go from there.
So it's but and by the way, since I'm since I'm a first generation
American of Spanish and Maltese descent,i am actually an Arabic person myself,
so I can make fun of Arabsall day long. So nobody's making fun
of Arabs as snipers to harm youbecause of your beliefs. Exactly, So
(01:33:39):
evil American exactly. But that thatprotective detail, that inner detail they did,
they did justifying. We call itthe law enforcement dog pile, the
close protection detail. They covered themwith their armored bodies, except for the
female who was there, who didn'treach up to identity. That's true,
(01:34:00):
I really shouldn't. But but oneof that, one of the four females
that was there, from what Iunderstand, at least three of them,
if not all four, were augmentees. So if you notice, by the
way, the secret Service detail inthe in the iconic picture, you'll notice
on their lapels they have a littlelittle star there that's the air that's the
(01:34:24):
US Marshal's symbol. What they dois they rotate the pins to quickly identify
what's the pin of the day,you know, and if they're wearing you
know, Air Marshals or US marshalsor a flag or the d n C
or something. It lets them know. That's the part of the inner circle.
If you notice the female, she'swearing a US Marshall pin, but
(01:34:47):
she's got a secret Service badge onher hip, you know, the hip
that has the holster. Yeah, the holster that she's doing a holster weapon.
Now now, now, I dohave to observe that she seemed to
overweight. So let's talk about trainingstandards and budgets and things of that nature.
But for females who who carry firearms, short waist body armor right above
(01:35:12):
it, trying to holster that gunin the heat of battle, if you
would, I can understand a flub, I really do, but you know,
three times and then trying it againlater and then getting it. Females
have a different physiology. Real femaleshave a different physiology, physiological makeup.
She should have had a drop holster, but then it might have exposed it
(01:35:34):
underneath her coat jacket. So there'sa lot of things that go into that.
I'll give her. I'll give hera little pass, just a little
bit. There's not exposure in thatcircumstance. With her dress and or mode
of dress with the pins, nobodywould mistake her for anything other than someone
who is there to protect Coronald Trumpor the other people there, right,
(01:35:56):
And she's an augmentee, so shewas relatively new to that assignment. So
remember this is not the may notbe the A team it is now,
but but at that time there wasa whole bunch of stuff going on.
If anyone saw the video from thebackside and saw the spray of of hydraulic
(01:36:16):
fluid, one of the rounds hitone of the cranes and its sprayed on
the vehicles hydraulic fluid, so therewas almost no visibility through through the windshields.
So that was kind of a bitof a challenge as they were exiting
and heading to the hospital with theRemember no one knew how badly he was
wounded. Oh yeah, and hecould have had a heart attack. So
when they body bunkered him, therewas some delaying. People are saying this
(01:36:40):
was incompetent. They should have gotthey they should have left him down,
because there's usually there could have beenanother shooter or shooters or an ied or
something else. Sure, and thething to remember is his and we play
the odds. Historically it's a loanshooter, and in this case, it
was a loan shooter. And soafter they said the shooter was down,
(01:37:00):
that's why they got him up,made sure he didn't have a heart attack
of stroke, didn't get hit asecond or third time, and then they
moved him immediately to the vehicle. So him standing up and getting away from
holding his fist up. And thatwas a bit of a challenge for a
protective detail. And I've done protectivedetails. He the client, the protectee
is in charge until the first roundis fired, and then I'm in charge.
(01:37:25):
So there was a little conflict there. He wanted to he wanted to
continue talking, and he wanted tocontinue get a message out to his people
that he was okay, and Iagree with that. However, the secret
Service detail wanted to shuffle into avehicle. Understood, and that was their
job to do it right, stopthe politician from being the politician. Anyhow,

Thank you so much, Brian. It's an honor to be on a show
(01:41:06):
that get so many listeners and reallyappreciate what you do for southwestern Ohio letting
them know about what's going on inpolitics and Columbus. That makes it means
the world to me, my friend, that you said that. But thank
you very much. And part ofthe program is getting folks like you in
the know on the show to talkabout things like the Ohio Bathroom build house
Bill one in three? What isgoing on you here to provide my listeners
(01:41:28):
with an update, So thankful forthe opportunity to do that. And so,
you know, it's unbelievable, Brian, that we have to have a
bill like this, isn't it?And so you know, years ago you
would have never thought that we neededthis, But this is continuing to be
a growing problem across the state inthe nation, and so we in Ohio
(01:41:49):
have decided that we're going to dosomething about this. We're not going to
continue to allow boys to go ingirls' restrooms and girls to go into boys
restrooms. And you know, weheard testimony from a wide variety of people,
including highly noted Riley Gaines talking abouthow she had to change in a
locker room with this guy named LiamThomas. And we also heard about we
(01:42:13):
heard from others in Ohio that hadto experience having men in their women's locker
rooms. So HOUSETI one eighty threeis a bill that is it includes kindergarten
through college, It includes the colleges, and it says that only boys can
go in the boys restroom, onlygirls can go in the girl's restroom.
(01:42:34):
And it includes overnight accommodations if theschool is going somewhere that girls have to
stay in the girl's room and boyshave to stay in the boys room.
And now there's nothing in the billthough that keeps people from keeps institute's educational
institutions from making a single use wanteda time kind of restroom. Sure,
(01:42:56):
but this is going to really helpprotect our kids. And that's what this
is about. The reason for thisbill, Brian, is because superintendent's across
the state of Ohio came to meand asked and said, we need a
bill that brings clarity to this issue. And so that's that's really the origin
and the genesis of this bill.Well, I guess I'm always puzzled by
(01:43:17):
this representative bird that that there isso loud what appears to be I might
more properly state such a loud advocacyfor allowing men to go into women's restrooms.
That's got to be just a smallsegment of the of the entire state's
population that would even advocate for somethinglike that. I don't care where you
(01:43:38):
are on a sexuality spectrum. Ithink most everyone would agree you're probably much
safer and more comfortable having women inthe women's room and men in the men's
room and just call it a dayon that. Absolutely I agree with that,
and so I think studies and pollinghave shown that this is a winning
issue. It's an important issue. And no matter whether you're a Republican or
(01:44:00):
a Democrat, you want your childto be safe and a restroom, yeah,
you don't want them exposed to theother genders. So I really believe
that there's many Democrats out there.Even though no Democrats voted for this bill,
not one, not one, andCommittee not one on the floor voted
for this. I still believe thatmost Democrats want their child protected in a
(01:44:21):
restroom. Yeah, I think tome this is analogous to the idea of
having school choice. I don't evensee that as having a political strife.
If I'm a Democrat, if I'ma Republican, if I'm a communist or
a socialist, I'm going to wantto send my children to the school that
I want to send them to.That is a party neutral issue, and
this one should be as well. Why it is and how it is that
(01:44:41):
Democrats could all wind up against somethingso common sense. I'm sorry, sir,
It's just baffling to me. That'sall I can leave it at,
is just baffling. Sure. Andso the other reason for this bill,
Brian, is because we are gettingthese rulings from courts, We're getting these
guidance from the federal executive branch directingdirecting our schools to allow this to happen.
(01:45:05):
And so I think it's it's improperfor the legislative branch in the state
of will Hire to sit on thesideline to center on our hands and not
do anything about it. And justsay, well, Okay, the executive
branch in DC made this decision, and I don't think that's right. And
so that's why we get involved insay, hey, we are a coequal
(01:45:26):
branch. We're going to wade intothis too. We're going to you know,
we're going to pass a bill thatis that's going to say what we
believe that the will of the Ohiopeople are on this issue, and we're
not going to just sit on thesideline and let the executive branch and the
judicial branch make all of the rulesand guidance on this. All right,
as we've been saying, this isHouse Bill one in they three we're talking
(01:45:47):
about co sponsored. Adam Bird andBeth Lee are also do you have an
independent Senate bill that is analogous tothis? Is our companion bill in the
Senate? You know where the Senateis on this topic. Well I got
even better than that that, Brian. We actually on the last day of
session in June amended it into Centervilletwo fifteen and it passed the House.
(01:46:14):
Okay, this passed the House, and so this is going back to the
Ohio State Senate for a concurrence vote. And so all we need is for
our state senators to concur on thechanges to their bill. We amended this
into one of their bills. Theyhave to concur and you know, we're
just thrilled to death that Governor Dwayanhas already stated publicly that if the Senate
(01:46:41):
concurs with the changes he's going tohe's going to sign this bill and we're
going to have protection for our girlsand boys restrooms. That is outstanding news.
And you know what for some aprocess to go smoothly in Columbus,
Adam Byrd, that's not that's arare occasion of late. We've got a
little difficulties going on from time totime, like the you know, the
(01:47:01):
Blue twenty two issues and things ofthat nature. But you know what,
glad to see you're looking out forthe young people out there, boys and
girls, and I like the ideathat girls are protected from some pretty horrific
things. We've all read about themhappening from different states, all struggling with
this issue. So let's put afork in it. How quickly do you
think the Senate's going to act ina concurrence at him? You know,
(01:47:24):
right now they've already announced that theywill not have a floor date, the
session floor date until after the Novemberelections, Okay, And so that's okay,
we can wait till then, andlet's get it done in late November
and get the governor to sign itin December, and we'll start protecting our
girls real soon. And so I'veheard nothing from the Senate opposing this.
(01:47:48):
I talked to the bill sponsors,Senator Andrew Brenner and Senator Serena Jerry Sereno,
and they are they're good with this. They're excited that this is going
to be a part of them. And so I think there's going to be
a concurrence vote, and I'm youknow, we're it feels good to protect
kids. Yeah, and that's whatthis is about. Proudly representative House District

It's Brian Jose, the producer.Brian, that's all right, I'm the

And what's it all about? You'rehaving a reunion? So I presume there's
a group called the Public High SchoolLeague? What is that all about?
(01:51:50):
And that's what it's about. Itis the Public High School League Reunion.
And what we're doing is just tryingto get people to get together again on
a positive note and uh, justa final weekend more than anything, a
lot of networking and you know, people just hadn't seen each other in a
(01:52:13):
while. Then when they do seeeach other, man, it's just just
a great look, you know.So is this you know? Okay,
so I went to Oakhill's Polic HighSchool. But what high schools are invited
or will be involved with the reunionthat we'll talk about here in a minute.
Well, the original pH s therewas aching Wanner Hills. What would
(01:52:35):
withdrow Western Hills, Hughes and Tasksgotcha, And yeah, but what I've

that that's of age. Now toplay in the basketball game, you got

let's first talk about the party. Then we'll talk about the basketball games,
because the party is on Friday, right, and then the basketball games we're
gonna talk about here a second areon Saturday. Then you got an event

music. I guess it looks likeBYOB so you're allowed to bring your your

remember here and played for Huggins backin the day. That name rings a
bell. I can't say definitively,but yeah, I see that he's listed
(01:53:46):
as the DJ, so he's gotconnection with the with the reunion component as
well. That's cool. All right, so it's twenty dollars mission for the
party. And folks, if you'relistening, you're like, oh, yeah,
yeah, I went to public highschool. One of the I want

a really cool organization, the HelpSquad, which you can find online and
I really strongly encourage you to dothat because we're gonna solicit your help today.
Help the Helps Squad so they cango out and help people. It's
Helped Squad Sincy with a y dotcom. Help squadsincey dot com. Brian
(02:00:04):
Ibold, always great seeing you, brothers. Yeah, thank you forgiving us
an avenue here to give the wordout always too, because you know you
guys, it's a great organization andthey focus on. Of course, you
know my area of town growing up, you got Cole Ring, Green dal
High Township, Shivy at Cleaves andAddison where. Yes, like every area
of the Greater Cincinnati area and acrossthis country, there are people out there
(02:00:27):
in really really significant need. Mostnotably a lot of women, you know,
failed relationships, they got to getout of dodge, they have an
abuse of husband, they're on thelamb, they've got bills, they have
no place to live. You cango on and on and on and so
Brian and his wife and others youknow, have this inspiration religious inspired,
it was, and that's great.Help Squad it's a five O one C
three corporate Christian nonprofit organization. Theirmission to share hope, compassion and grace
(02:00:51):
through faith and community collaborative. Theyassist families and crisis with short term financial
support and wrap around services for food, clothing, and shall as well as
new paths for life development and strategies. Brian, it's just such a neat
thing to see you do this. And how is it that you decided in
your life and what direction did yougo down? And you're like, you
(02:01:12):
know what, I got time,I got ability, I'm going to help
other people. I'm going to dedicatemy time to a Christian charitable mission.
Well, I'll agree with you.I definitely had the time. The ability
that's kind of up in the air. So at this points, I'm trying,
brother, believe me, I'm trying. So you know, I'm a
retired police when I had twenty eightyears on in law enforcement, and a
(02:01:32):
lot of the times that I wasin a uniform position, I would respond
to radio runs where it's a domesticdispute, domestic violence, some you know,
husband and wife arguing, brother andsister, however it is, and
when you separated them and you spoketo them, ninety nine percent of the
time they're arguing over some sort offinancial disruption in their family. You know,
(02:01:55):
dad loses his job, Mom didn'tpay the card payment last month to
get repossessed, or they're late ontheir rent, they're going to get evicted,
and those types of problems really causea lot of grief in families.
And then you add alcohol to itand just a bad scene all the way
around. So I would show upin these houses. I'm thinking there has
to be an organization that will payto have your car not repossessed. There
(02:02:18):
just has to be that it's onlya couple hundred dollars for these, you
know, for a car payment.But there wasn't There wasn't anything. There's
there's you can get food, clothing, shelter, you know, the basics,
but there was nothing like this.So when I retired in twenty twenty,
I said, we're going to createthis and with the help of myself
and my wife, like you mentioned, we have some really great people,
(02:02:42):
Sam Jasper. She is a unicornwhen it comes to helping people. Nobody
can compete with her. And wejust all got together, we merged,
and we've been doing a lot ofgood work ever since on the west side
of town. Well, and let'stalk about some of the work by way
of illustration. I know you gotsome just absolutely heartbreaking but yet same time
heartwarming stories because of the help thatthe Help Squad provided my listeners. An
(02:03:04):
illustration or two about some of thesuccess you've had out there, yeah,
I'd be more than happy. Sojust last week we had a lady from
West Africa. Now, she didit right. I'm not trying to get
political here, but she did itright. She's a US citizen and she
lives in an apartment with her threechildren, single mom, and her dying
mother, and she was behind onrent from a few things that had popped
(02:03:27):
up, and they were going toevict this woman and her mother, her
sick mother and her three kids, and she needed about I think it was
twelve hundred bucks for her rent werethere on the street. So we came
through and invested twelve hundred dollars. Now that's not a lot of money,
Brian, twelve hundred dollars to savea family? Are you kidding me?
How? How is there not thousandsand thousands of people behind us, you
(02:03:53):
know, supporting us, rallying behindus with this. But that's the things
we do, you know, Andthat's that was even more, you know,
a little bit higher than what wenormally do. You save a family
for four, five, six, seven hundred dollars. Right in the past
you've mentioned just a little cash infusionlike five hundred. I think I remember
the story where you gave you hadthis opportunity to give some of this woman
(02:04:13):
five hundred dollars, and that reallywas able to turn her life around.
Five hundred dollars Brian King Floyd Lynefor want of the price of tea and
a slice. The old man died. It's like for one of five hundred
dollars in this this person's lifetime. You know, things could either go really
great or they could be tragic exactly. You know, we've and you know,
just a couple of days ago,I helped Ah, a veteran uh
(02:04:40):
from the Iraqi boy. He aveteran who they just didn't have food.
He had been hurt and they didn'thave food, and their electric was going
off. And I always thought thatthey will not turn electric off or gas
electric or heat and stuff like inthe winter if you have kids in this
Yeah, but uh, yeah theywill after a while. They certainly will.
Yeah, and you've got a prettylong run up time. But if
(02:05:00):
you just let it go, it'sgoing to get turned off at play.
And so we paid that and theguy end up getting a job and everything's
fine. We invested I think sixhundred bucks in him and his family,
you know, but we can't continueto invest, you know, even five
six, one thousand and two thousand, whatever it is without people getting behind
us and rallying with us and supportingus. Well, that's the call to
(02:05:21):
action that I'm going to issue. This morning again the help the Help Squad.
Sincey with why the Help Squad Sinseydot com. It's easy to donate
this blink right at there at thetop to do it. I also suspect
that you wouldn't mind volunteer help withyour mission. We certainly can use volunteer
help. You know, we alwayswill accept monetary donations. We will accept
(02:05:43):
even donations items that we can auctionoff or we can do bidden buy services.
You know, if you cut hair, if you cut grass, if
any type of service that you provide, we can use that as well.
There's just many ways of volunteering andit's just not money. And Brian,
this isn't even just about the helpSquad. You know, you can't just
(02:06:03):
sit on your couch and do nothingwith your life. You've got to get
out there because I find it veryhard that you can't have compassion without action.
And I see a lot of peoplesaying, oh, you know,
just look at that poor guy onthe side of the on the corner there
asking for that poor homeless guy.Somebody should do something about that. Or
Hey, did you hear about thelady who lost her job. She has
(02:06:23):
two kids and they're getting evicted fromtheir apartment. Somebody should do something about
that. Well, guess what,Yeah, we're doing something about it,
but you will need some serious help. Yeah. And you know it's interesting
because I'm one who regularly like inthe context of and again, I don't
want to get political on this. We're talking about charity here, but it
provides a great spring board during therun up to the passage of Obamacare.
(02:06:45):
And I guess even during Hillary Care, you had men in well, clergy
people, women or men in frontof churches advocating for a government program because
it was going to help folks onlife margins get healthcare. And I'm thinking
to myself, you're abdicate at theChristian mission. The Christian mission is for
the individual in the room there todo that themselves, to give of their
(02:07:08):
own time and of their own moneyto help people on life's margins. That
helps you the individual who does that. Giving the charity and participating in the
charity is uplifting for the person doingthis. Exactly, Christ came here to
serve, not to be served.I'm sure we've all heard it's better to
give than to receive. Yeah, they just didn't say that for no reason.
(02:07:30):
It really is true. It isincredibly rewarding when you can help these
people. And the thing is wedon't get paid. We're all volunteers.
If anything, this costs me thousandsof dollars a year to run this well,
of course out of your own pocket, but also time has a value
of money as well, and clearlyyou have committed an unbelievable amount of time
to this charity. Again the HelpSquad Sinsey dot com Joe put a link

other ways we can help out,but we're also going to get go down
a little cul de sac because Iknow Jim Keefer Westside. Jim wants you
to talk about the sitcom that youare doing, which we'll be able to

you have some great plans over theweekend. I'm in studio with Brian Eyebold
of the Help Squad again online ThehelpSquad since you with y dot com help
him out a volunteer listen. Ihave some money in my pocket. I
just gave it to Brian. Yeah, it wasn't that difficult to do to
hand him over some money out ofmy pocket. It makes it so easy
going to the website to do that. This is some beautiful work that they're
(02:10:33):
doing. You can imagine just asmall financial contribution to one of these folks
living on life's margins. And thestatistics are on his website. You got
a pretty substantial poverty weight. Youhave a very low percentage of folks with
a higher level education for the areathat he's serving, fifty three percenter on

referrals, don't you, Brian?Uh? Yeah, we have some wraparound
services. So once we give afinancial infusion to a family, we can
(02:11:18):
also offer them wrap around services thatconnect them with different organizations or agencies that
will further assist them down the roadso they don't back in the same situation.
We mentioned that last story that yougot the guy got a job.
Yeah, yeah, exactly. Yeah, so problems just exactly. It was
just that temporary time, you know, that month or so that they needed
(02:11:41):
help, and then we we investedin them, we paid it, and
they're they're fine. Again, ifthat wouldn't have happened, they wouldn't have
it electric, they wouldn't have anyheat and air condition and and chances are
their house was going to go upfor u you know, to auction.
Yes, so there's a lot ofthings, but it was a small financial
investment in this and they're doing verywell. And then we do that all
(02:12:01):
the time. These people are worththe money. Yeah, the problem is
we just we don't have a tonof money, but obviously, and we're
only as good as the money wehave in the bank. And that's why
we're doing all these things. That'swhy I'm on the radio, that's why
we have fundraisers. And speaking offundraisers, if I can real quick,
yeah yeah, yeah, yah, yeah, well yeah, you got you
got a big event coming up onSunday, I miss, Yes, we
(02:12:22):
have a huge event coming up atCrimer's Beer House. Oh yeah, it's
a staple on the West it is. Indeed, they've got a huge river
bar outside. It's gonna beautiful weather. We have one of the best bands
in town, lunch Box, they'recoming to play. We've got fun raffle
(02:12:43):
bats. It's all kinds of stuffthat are good volunteers. Carrie in doors
has taken so much time of theirtime, uh, to do this and
get this organized. We're very excitedand there is really Look, it's sun,
it's music, it's fun, andyou're helping people. What is not
to like? Come on out andone to five one to five pm Crimer's
Beer House this Sunday. We're gonnahave a good time. Now. Do
(02:13:05):
you have a link to that informationon your help Squad website by any chance?
If it's not on the website,it certainly is on our Facebook page,
the help Squad Facebook the help Squad, and go ahead and like them
there as well. And you know, as you and I were talking off
air, trying to get people todonate money, that's one thing, but
if you're not able to donate money, and I'm thinking of folks who may
(02:13:26):
be struggling on their own with maybesome depression. Obviously with the news of
the world, that's enough to depressme considering what I do. But you
know, if you get engaged andare working with folks that you work with
Brian who need this type of assistance, I think not only might you feel
better about your own personal circumstance, but also you're going to get that feeling
(02:13:48):
that only charitable help can give you. It's uplifting. You are truly helping
somebody on life margins. You're gonnago home feeling a whole lot better about
your situation and probably meet some greatpeople at the same time. Oh no,
it's incredibly rewarding. And here's thething. If you're a listener out
there, the problem is we justhave a segment of society that can help
(02:14:11):
that just chooses not to. Andthis is a way to do it.
It's easy. And here's the thing, even if you don't want to help
people, just being in this typeof field, you feel better yourself.
Yes, you know what I mean, helping people, there's nothing better than
that, that's our calling, nothingbetter than That's exactly right. And then
(02:14:31):
again, going back to your foundationin Christian philosophy. Therein lies the reality
it's good for you to be goodto other people. Amen's got to come
from you personally, not through somelarge government program. And here we have
no government involvement, just good peoplehelping those on life's margins. Reassure my
listeners before we get to the sitcom. Reassure my listeners the vetting process.
(02:14:54):
Someone just doesn't walk up and sayI need five hundred dollars and you hand
it over to them. Now youfind out what the situation is. Oh
sure. So we have an intakepacket that you that you will be you'll
have to fill out. It's onthe website. We make it very convenient,
and then once we receive your intakepacket, we review that. And
I'll be honest with you, noteverybody can we can help. There's some
(02:15:18):
people that are there things are justso far gone we can't help. But
there's others too that seem to bekind of just trying to scam the system
type thing. So not everybody willget the help. But the true legitimate
people that need our help and wehave the money in the bank, we
will help them. And I'm justreal quick. The lady who I was
talking about earlier from West Africa.Do you notice that she had called fifteen
(02:15:41):
other agencies for help. We arethe sixteenth agency. Fifteen agencies did not
return her call, shut the doorin her face, did not return emails,
put her on a waiting list, said we can't help. And then
number sixteen, the help Squad, she gives us a call and we got
it done. And the reason wegot it done is one, we don't
have any red tape. We don'thave any that bureautic bureaucracy, you know,
(02:16:03):
red tape all over the place. If you need help and we have
the money and it's legitimate, it'sreal simple, we get it done the
help Squad. Since you with they dot com really quickly, the sitcom
Brian and even working on this locallylately. Yeah. On a side note,
so when I retire from the police, you know, I've always enjoyed
writing, and I wrote, actuallyI wrote a short film. It's on
(02:16:24):
YouTube called Drunken Inheritance. I've seenit and I and it's come about a
personal story. It's kind of funny. And then you know, I was
sitting around in some a little bitof free time I had, I said,
you know, let's write a coupleepisodes of a sitcom. So we
did three episodes and uh and we'regetting ready to release them. It's called
Typical west Siders. We have awebsite typic Typical Westsiders dot com and it's
(02:16:46):
just for fun. It was justa kind of a goofy, goofy thing.
We're not trying to make any money, no, nothing like that.
Was just fun and we got somegood people involved, and it's just silly.
It's kind of like a Seinfeld typegoofy thing. You got west Side
Jim Keifering west Side Jim's and thereall three episodes. Given the name of
the sitcom, that makes perfect sense. Brian ibold On behalf of all those

of the Secret Service. Gary Burnsserved in federal law enforcement for nearly thirty

Thank you. Well you've heard thequestions. I'm sure that you've come

I mean to the lay person likeme, although I do have knowledge and
years of experience shooting both rifles andhandguns, I look with in dismay that
(02:20:48):
the number of places where this murdererwould be assassin of Donald Trump could have
shot from. But even where hedid shoot from, it doesn't look as
if they Secret Service had done awell advanced plan on this. What what
have you done by way of reviewon this and what have you determined?
Where were I mean there were obviousfailures at least let's see if we agree
(02:21:09):
upon that. To start with,Gary, Yes, it was a complete
train wreck. I mean I give, I give a little bit of flop
to the actual detail the thing, most of the things you saw take place
when Trump went down, and thework, the detail, the way they
acted, you know, most ofthat was exactly the where it was supposed
to be. The pre advanced theadvanced work that was supposed to be done

was not the Secret Service director. This falls on her lap now like not
like a lot of other people whoare demanding that she resigned. I don't
wanted to resign. I wanted tostay and tell the truth for once,

wrote the second book, Secrets ofthe Secret Service, was to to you
know, let everybody know. Youknow ninety nine percent of what people know
(02:21:58):
about the secrets of risks from TVsand movies. Right. The Secret Service
in real life is a lot ofgreat people trying to do a really hard

it was. Well, what didyou? I mean? I guess you
got to go back to the director. Many people are calling for her to
step down, if for no otherreason. Then she offered as an explanation
for not having that roof taken careof, that the slope was too steep.
I mean, come on, now, they had snipers on roofs with
steeper slopes than that our men andwomen in uniform have to fight in combat
(02:22:43):
with slopes steps that I mean seriously, that those words actually came out of
her mouth, that she is thedirector, and yet that was used as
a as an excuse that to me, was just an admission of an epic
fail. She had no answer tothe questions correct. And that there's two
things that she stated because of exactlywho she is, and and it's a
(02:23:05):
real problem. That was one ofthem. And the other one was what
was the first thing she said aboutThere was the roofs, and then she
said something about it'll come to mein a minute. But anyway, we're
getting back to the rus. Listen, the men owned talent sniper before they
even get to the point in theirtraining to to find out that they can't
(02:23:30):
qualify with the rifles, they haveto do like two weeks of pete climbing
repelling these guys. You know, her statement just shows you how completely disconnected
she is from what the people thatshe's supposed to be directing do. She
had no clue whatsoever, and andit's an insult to them. And again,
(02:23:50):
I don't know why she would saythat. When she first said it,
I thought it was I thought Iwas. I just didn't believe it
right. Well, and again I'mlooking at it from a lay person's perspective.
You actually serve with the Secret Service, so you know that you have
confirmed what seems so obvious to aguy like me. It's absolutely amazing.
Coupled with what we now have learned. There was that open threat from the
(02:24:13):
Iranians that they discovered there was probablyan assassination plot to kill former President Donald
Trump, and they got that informationprior to this event, days prior anyway,
and that they supplemented the Secret Serviceagents because of that threat. So
not only I mean that to meillustrates it even greater failure. You've got
a legitimate Iranian threat, your supplementresulted in this. Yeah, no,
(02:24:39):
exactly. And again it goes backto some of the things I point out
in the book. And you know, just for an example for your audience,
by the time John Kennedy is assassinatedin Dallas, Textus in nineteen sixty
three, four other presidents that theyhad protected have been shot at and opened
vehicles. Two of them were opencarriages drawn by horse. What's their learning
(02:25:01):
curve. Why the hell will wewere still doing open vehicle And then you
fast forward to Ronald Reagan when RonaldReagan gets shot by John Hanckley. Just
a few years before Jerry Ford wasshot at twice in uncontrolled crowds outside of
buildings in a two week period andFord, excuse me, fourteen day period,
shot at twice by women with handguns. And again, why were they
(02:25:24):
still doing it? Uncontrolled press anduncontrolled crowds with Reagan and you know they're
what they're very good is is isuh pershing blame over to other people and
just ignoring it. Another thing Ipoint out that by the time Reagan is
there's an attention assassination in Reagan. When they reviewed the Secret Services policies and
(02:25:46):
they reviewed the Kennedy assassination, therewere there were over twenty things that were
recommended by a panel of the SeekertService, and they still wanted to do
in some of them and one ofthem was to control the press and you
could control the crowd. So this, this is just another example of management
and competence, management and confidence, complacency, laziness. Yeah, I guess
(02:26:09):
across the board, do me afavor before we part company. Again,
it's fascinating conversation Gary byrne man inthe know on this area Crisis, A
Character and Secrets of the Secret Service, the two books that you can get
my blog page fifty five casey dotcom. Just to address briefly the rumbling
conspiracy theories that are out there, because you know, many people suggesting that
somehow the Secret Service or the thethe the dark forces inside government had something
(02:26:33):
to do with this, Well theydid. It demonstrates an even more epic
failure. I can't believe that honestlymyself. Gary, you got any comments
to address those rumblings out there?Yeah. I used the Kennedy assassination as
an example sometime, with the rhetoricof you know, there was another shooter,
there was this, there was thatthey purposely did this and did that.
(02:26:54):
But the problem is is that mostof what people know about the Secret
Service comes from TV, to themovie, the and And I'm not solding
anybody. I'm just saying that's whatreality is. And so it's hard for
people to say, oh, they'reincompetent, they're the Secret Service. They're
not competent. They make mistakes, they're human beings. We saw it right
in front of us. You know, there was some little mistakes made,
(02:27:15):
but you have to realize everybody wasbeing shot at and there's a shields adrenaline
dump, which if you've never experiencedthat, it really messes with your body
instantly, and you know, yourvision goes down to a PenPoint. You're
hearing shuts off for a second, and then you have to learn to work
through it. And so what wesaw on Saturday was the divine in my
(02:27:37):
opinion, the divine hand of Godturning his head at the right second and
to after that, some of thethings that the agents did was textbooks.
But the pre advance, the advanceits locations with the local police. I
mean, the guy called up onthe building that the local police were inside
of their ladder to get up thereon the corner from his ladders. You
(02:27:58):
know, no, let me subservethat area, and nobody should come adapt
the building. And all that doesnot fall back on the counter sniperdot that
falls back on the advanced people. And again they get your true answers.
Don't hold your breath. Oh soyou don't think we're really going to get
to the bottom of this. Andthe final houses carry absolutely not that's disheartening.
Goo google what happened in nineteen ninetytwo when Congress tried to help it
(02:28:22):
reopen the JFK assassination to take alook at a couple of things. They
went to the Secret Service and requestedall the information on the murder case in
the advanced and the Secret Service saidit's been destroyed. That was it.
They destroyed it, nobody was allaccountable and got rid of all the logs,
all the information they got, itserving to fuel the conspiracy theories that
(02:28:46):
continue to this day. Gary Byrn, it has been a distinct pleasure to
have you here on the program thismorning. Thank you for your service.
Thanks to the books. They're outstandingbooks, and I'll encourage my listeners to
get copies of Crisis of Character aswell as Secrets of the Secret Service,
which my producer the linked on myblog page fifty five care Sea dot com.
Gary, thanks for the thoughtful analysisthis morning. Was a real pleasure
having you on the program. Mypleasure to take care you too. Coming
(02:29:09):
up an eight forty one fifty fivecare Setalk Station late edition to the program.
Always Welcome, I said just theother day I could talk to you
literally every day on the program JayRatliffe. We talked with Dave Hatter this
morning Tech Friday, this crowd strikeupdate which has caused Microsoft systems to crash
around the globe, and yes, your air airflight may be delayed this morning.
I've already heard from one of mylisteners three and a half hour delay
(02:29:31):
because of this crash. We're gonnahear from Jay Ratliffe coming up next.
After I mentioned my friend Susette LoasaCamp. You want somebody who knows the
real or the mortgage business. Youwant Susette Loasa Camp more than thirty five
years experience. You want to geta house, you need a mortgage.
You want someone you want to workwith. This is the most, probably
the most stressful financial thing you're evergonna go through, is purchasing a house.
(02:29:52):
Most people, it's the biggest financialtransaction they ever engage in. And
that's why you want to work withsomeone you're gonna like and how someone's gonna
get to this us as quickly andpainlessly like Susette did for my daughter and
a boyfriend a couple of days fromthe initial phone call to the financing getting
locked in place. That's all Ittook for them. They loved working with
her. I can tell you thesame thing for everybody that's worked with Susette.
(02:30:13):
No junk fees, no application fees, great rates at a low cost.
She's with Cross Country Mortgage, whichmeans doesn't matter which state you're in,
she can help you with financing ormaybe getting some of the equity out
of your home. If you thinkthe idea of a reverse mortgage is a
good one, well you go aheadand talk to her about that as well.
If it's mortgages, think Susette Low'sCamp callers, she'll get right back
with you, or email or firstthe phone number five one three three one
(02:30:35):

email. It's Suzette dot Low's Camp, los E Kamp Susette dot Low's Camp

(02:30:56):
rc E Talkstation, It's important toremember it one four on D especially when
(02:31:18):
you're talking with iHeartMedia aviation expert JayRattleff. I always look forward to Thursdays
here in the morning show because everyThursday at eight thirty we do a few
segments with Jay, and it's alwaysusually puts a smile on my face,
which I think makes it worthwhile inand of itself. But he does no
aviation, and he is dealing withthe realities we're all dealing with. This
morning, the cybersecurity giant CrowdStrike witha global outage impacting businesses from banks to
(02:31:41):
networks, radio stations, television stations, and of course naturally airports. Systems
using Microsoft operating systems are crashing allaround the globe. We talked this morning
Jay with Dave Hatter on Tech Fridayabout this and he explained how this works.
But CrowdStrike, basically, it's likean add on to Microsoft Windows operating
(02:32:01):
systems for security reasons like the oldoh god, what do they used to
call them, like Norton anti virusprograms. It's kind of like that so
or something. Yeah, there yougo. So businesses are operating with Microsoft,
they add CrowdStrike to better protect themfrom hackers and the like, and
CrowdStrike does some kind of an upgradethis morning and systems started crashing with the
(02:32:24):
blue screen of death all over thecountry. And it's really got an impact
on aviation, Jay, Yeah,it did. In fact that single content
update had impacts around the world, and I think we initially started seeing signs
of this last night with some lowcost carriers. We had Frontier Legion in
some country that are having issues aftersix o'clock, and then as we rolled
(02:32:45):
into this morning, it really startedimpacting the major airlines around the world so
much in fact that American, Delta, United all had a groundstop today and
you're talking about three airlines that havebetween them about seventeen thousand flights a day.
And unfortunately, given the fact thatright now we're still kind of a
wait and see mode as we're tryingto get back to operating on all cylinders,
(02:33:09):
the issue is that we're giving thisbacklog now of passengers around the country,
and when you start having flights canceled, we have thousands of flights that
are being affected right now. You'retalking about hundreds of thousands of passengers soon
to be a million passengers that couldbe impacted. Brian, There's no place
to put these people, because whenyou have flights to cancel and every flight's
(02:33:30):
ninety five percent full, where youregoing to put these one hundred and fifty
people. You got two seats onthis flight four over there, one back
here. I mean, it's goingto take a while. And if you
happen to be in that unfortunate situationwhere your flight is canceled, the agent
that you're working with is having issues, please give them options. I know
one time when Sherry and I werestuck at New York Kennedy Airport, I
(02:33:52):
told the American Airlines agent, getme to any airport in the state of
Ohio. I'll rent a car andI'll drive home. Just get me to
the state. And the whole ideahere is at least the options are increased.
The other thing is if you're tryingto get hold of airlines, obviously
getting them on the phone is goingto be problematic, if not impossible,
So use the social media tools.A lot of times, I'll use Facebook.
(02:34:15):
I'll send a private message to DeltaSouthwest whoever. I give them my
six digit confirmation number, very shortlittle email or message that says, hey,
look, flight's been impacted. Whatoptions do I have? And they've
got a very large number of socialmedia workers, and many times they will
respond far faster than you can getthrough a line at the airport or you
(02:34:37):
get somebody on the phone that's avaluable tip. I had one of my
listeners got in touch with them thismorning when we were talking about this.
Six o'clock this morning, I gotan instant message from Eric three and a
half hour delay out of Oklahoma Cityso far. So, you know,
even Oklahoma City, which I don'tviews a real giant airport market, but
there you have it. They wereshut down and the ripple effect. All
(02:34:58):
these were an interconnected flight world hereright. You know, you get delays
at big airports, you know, like he Throw Airport, if they shut
down, then that has a rippleeffect across the globe to certain degree.
This is a lot of airports allaround the globe. Yeah, we've got
issues in Australia, Europe, Asia, South America, Central America, here
(02:35:18):
in the United States. I mean, it's impacting airlines all over the world,
and it's definitely going to have animpact. And that's one of the
reasons that when you've got an aircraft, we call them those silver revenue tubes
that are used for four or fivesegments a day. You're talking about let's
say, on average, one hundredand fifty hundred and seventy passengers per flight
that are being impacted, and alot of those are connecting flights, so
(02:35:39):
you're trying to not only get onthe flight to your destination through a hub,
but you're hoping that that flight's ontime so you can hit your connection
on time. It's an absolute mess. And when you've got numbers like we've
been seeing and right now that youknow the TSA tells us every day with
regards to how many people that theyhave had traveling two points six two point
(02:36:00):
eight two point nine million people aday just here in the United States,
Brian, there's no place to putthose down, and it's really really problematic,
and so why airlines are doing thebest they can. But in a
situation like this, much as aweather event, you wait to see when
things are going to clear before youcan actually start rerouting people. Because the
maddening thing is you're put on amorning flight and rerouted on an afternoon flight
(02:36:24):
that's then canceled, and you're puton an evening flight which is then canceled,
and you're put on the next day, and it just wears you out
as a traveler. Just all Ican say is, thank god my son
got back from California last night successfully. He was delayed a little bit,
but at least he was able toget home. And then another hour or
two and that might not have happened. Jay Ratliffe, love having you on
the program. Appreciate the update. And I suppose in terms of hub delays,
(02:36:46):
which you and I all Probaly's endedit. Oh yeah, count on
you talk about that talent on theywill be. But on a weather standpoint,
Atlanta late in the day may haveissues. Let's hope you're flying,
and that becomes a problem because rightnow a whole lot of things are not
moving. Not moving, call ahead, smart moves. Jay Riyler, thanks
for the late notice coming on theprogram. I appreciate having you on.
