Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, guys, welcome back. It's the Billy and Lisa Morning Show.
We've got the iHeartRadio Music Awards happening a Monday night,
going to be hosted by Ludacris, and Ludacris is on
the phone.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Hey, buddy, how you doing.

Speaker 3 (00:11):
I'm doing great. How you doing?

Speaker 2 (00:13):
We're doing okay here in Boston.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
We're excited to see you hosting the iHeartRadio of Music Awards, which,
by the way, we'll be carrying on the kiss one
of wait, you can see it on Fox and you'll
see Ludicrous up there on stage.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
One percent. I'm excited. Man. It's April first, and it
is not an April Fool's Day. There's not one of
those things. But this is a joke, there's no joking whatsoever.
This is going to be huge. It's going to be
bigger and better than all the other iHeart Awards.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Well, this is a good time for Luda. I mean
super Bowl halftime show with us.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
Sure, Hey, can you take us behind the scenes of
the halftime show, the preparation, what it's all like.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
It's such a great question, man, because you know we
were rehearsing a whole week beforehand, making sure things were
right and tweaking things up until the very last minute,
and I just, you know, I was nervous for my
brother Usher, And I remember, literally within sixty seconds of
us going on, me just tapping and be like you're good,
and he was just smiling. He was just so ready,

(01:13):
like forget that you're about to be in front of
a over one hundred million people. But it was like,
I'm nervous for him, and he's not even nervous. This
guy was just ready to go. Period.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
You know, It's fun funny little because I'm sitting here
and I'm getting chills as you're describing the scene, and
I'm trying to get a feel for So when you
first step out on stage to the Super Bowl crowd,
what's going through your head?

Speaker 3 (01:38):
Man? Listen, I don't even there's no words that can
describe it. It's just like pure electricity. It's just me
connecting with everyone in that stadium and everybody watching on
television all at one time, and almost like the human
race becoming one. That's how much electric charge was in
my body. Bro, Like it was an outer body experience.

(02:00):
I was just holding the microphone, but spiritually I was everywhere.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Conversely, what was going your head, going through your head
when you stepped off the stage and you knew it
was done.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
Man, I think it was just we just made history
like history. And then, like obviously a week later to
hear that it was be watched the most watched super
Bowl of all times. It just reinforced what we already
felt and what we already knew.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
And I'm guessing the big wigs at iHeart headquarters in
New York setting themselves.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
Somebody get on the phone with Luda.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
We got to get him for the iHeartRadio Music Awards, And.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
I'm glad that they did that because not only am
I hosting, man, I'm actually performing as well, so I
get to do the same thing in front of the
iHeart crowd.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
You know, it's quite a lineup.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
I mean, they got justin Timberlake, They've got TLC, Jelly Roll,
Tate McCrae.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
In the lineup of all the people you're going to be.

Speaker 1 (02:58):
Working with, first, is there one that you would single
handedly choose to do a collaboration with immediately?

Speaker 3 (03:05):
Man, Definitely, I say Beyonce. Man, of course. Man, I'm
loving everything that she's done and what she's doing. She's
transcending genres and you know she's keeping it exciting, so
I would definitely say her. I'm a big green Day
fan as well, so shout out to green Day, got it?

Speaker 2 (03:20):
Yeahded green Day? Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
So, Luda, if you want, you know, I could put
a call into Beyonce it if we can work out
this collaboration.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
Yeah, yeah, go ahead and do that, man, I appreciate.
I mean, you know, jay Z is a friend, so
I might make those same calls, but you never know,
it might take both of our calls to make it happen.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
Luda, I got to run something else by you because
at the iHeartRadio Music Awards this year, they have a
category for Best Lyrics, and I just want to play
this quick clip.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
And to ask you what your thoughts on on this, Saddie,
I'm a built the cow Okay, So Luda, what was
going on there?

Speaker 3 (04:04):
Man? That can be takeing. It's like a triple ntango
that can be taken a lot of ways. But you know,
we are on iHeartRadio and I want to keep things clean,
so I'll just say that it's objective, it's art, and
you let the fans kind of like decipher what they think.
I mean. Man, what do you guys think of Man, Well,
I'm put it back in your court.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
I just want to say, Luda, if if that song
were at the awards in that category this year, you'd
have my vote.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
How about you?

Speaker 2 (04:32):
Lisa?

Speaker 1 (04:32):
Absolutely so, we've seen you in all the Fast and
Furious movies are Luda, And we're curious, like, what is
more difficult to get ready for a role in the
movie or a role per se hosting the iHeartRadio Music Awards.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
It depends on the awards show, and it depends on
the movie and the roles and the lines and you know,
the things that you have to do. But I would
say both are equally as difficult to prepare for them, man,
you know, especially being live. At least when you do movies,
it's recorded. It's just live, ladies and gentlemen.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
Lie, that's a good point, loading because in movies, let's
get another take on that one.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
Exactly, there are no second takes when it comes to
doing stuff live.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
Now, when the awards are over and against the iHeart
Radio Music Awards April first on Fox as well as
live right here on Kiss one O eight and all
iHeart stations.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
But when the awards are over. You've got some new
music on the way right, Hell.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
Yeah, I'm working on music now. That's why I'm right
here in the background that you see the studio, and
I definitely it couldn't be a better time. And because,
in case you guys didn't know it, coming up on
next year would be my twenty five year anniversary of
my first album coming out, So we're trying to start
this thing all over again. Man, do you know what
I mean? From day one?

Speaker 1 (05:46):
Well, Luda, I'll tell you if you want to come
here to Boston and celebrate that twenty five year anniversary,
we could do the whole live show with Luda.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
Sounds good. Do they have any strippers in Boston? Yeah,
the whole rollouts. That's a Ludacris there you go.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
Yeah, I think we can make some calls. Luda.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
Yeah, Luda, thank you, Thank you so much, and we
can't wait to see you on the iHeartRadio Music Awards.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Thanks for checking in, Luda.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
Thank you
