Speaker 1 (00:00):
And welcome back everybody. Happy.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
April first, at seven to ten, precisely an hour ago,
we announced the artist of the day, and the artist
of the day is Ariana Grande. Now, earlier we did
play an Ariana Grande song, but Lisa, you got to
hear two in a row exactly.

Speaker 3 (00:16):
And if you hear two Ariana Grande songs played back
to back, be caller twenty five to six one seven, nine,
three one one eight, and you will win a five day,
four night State Universal Orlando Resort plus three day park
passes for four people.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
And do you have a book club announcement?

Speaker 3 (00:32):
Okay, so a few spots opened up for Jeff Benedict.
So just go to kiss oneawait dot com slash Lisa's
book Club. I'll also post the link on my Instagram
and sign up. Yeah, because you want to get in
on it. There's like ten spots available.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
Yeah, you got to make a move because every single
book club event so far has been sold out.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
It's Tomorrow night at the Revere Hotel, starting at six.
The reviewers Beautiful. Jeff Benedict wrote The Dynasty, which was
about the Patriots Dynasty and also the Apple TV doc.

Speaker 4 (01:01):
He wrote the Tiger Woods book. He wrote the Lebron book.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
So if you're really into sports, if you want to
bring like your husband or your son, or your brother,
your dad, this is like the perfect book club to
do it. And I cannot wait to talk with Jeff.
Jeff's an amazing storyteller.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
Yeah. We got to talk back a while ago from
a listener who bought the Lebron book in the anticipation
of this book club event. She was a slow reader,
so let's see how far she's gotten.

Speaker 5 (01:25):
Update from the self proclaimed slow reader. I called last
week or a week and a half ago about the
Lebron James book. I am almost done. I will either
be done with it by the book club tomorrow night
or the following day. So I'm heavily committed. It's an

(01:47):
amazing book, some of it.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
Again, the book club was born out of the fact
that if you want to read the whole book, you
want to read one page, or you're just interested in
maybe reading it at some point, join Lisa's book Club
of the community that's been creative and it's a free
event and.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
You'll learn you learn about the book exactly.

Speaker 5 (02:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
I read The Dynasty, so I did not read the
Lebron book, but I did, you know, a lot of research.
But yeah, he's written so many books. So whatever book
you've ever read of his, please come.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
I always wanted when I was a little kid, Goodwill
Hunting came out, you know, Goodwill Hunting. Matt Damon is
a genius. And the way he reads books, he reads
like a book in an hour, and it shows the
way that he reads. It's so fast, and I always
wanted to do that, to be able to read that fast.
There was a trick to it. You know.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
I've definitely gotten better over the last three years because
I was like a really slow reader, but now I
can kind of zoom through.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
The trick is to is to train your mind to
not read the kind of words that don't mean anything right,
so you kind of go over them. There's a whole
science behind him. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Anyway, there's another big event to coming up that involves me,
and I think we're all going to end up there
if I get my way.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
Oh we are.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Years ago I used to do a kiss night at
a club nine and Malden. It was called Rain and
somehow there's a Rain reunion coming up April twelfth. Now
that is not this coming weekend, but the following weekend.

Speaker 6 (03:12):
Yeah, it's next Saturday.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Yes, and typically the Rain Night, the Kiss Rain Night
was always on a Saturday night, and the place was packed.
There were lines out the door around the building and
the long Route ninety nine just to get in on
a Saturday night. Somehow the owner of Rain, which by
the way is now called Mixed three sixty ninety nine
and Mal then Anthony, if you're out there, how you doing, buddy,

(03:35):
He's decided he wants to have a Rain Reunion night.
So that'll be happening a week from Saturday night. Now,
this is going to be pretty crazy. The era of
music was a little unusual, but you'll remember you got
some of it there right justin well.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
It features hosted by Billy I'm looking at the flyer,
hosted by Billy Costa, Yes, and featuring the cover girls.
Oh yeah, oh I'm pulling up to this.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
Yeah, he just said to me off the area. No,
I'm definitely coming to the Rain Reunion. Lisa has already.

Speaker 7 (04:08):
Said she's I have dinner plans for me.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
Come after dinner, stay home.

Speaker 6 (04:15):
Now I have to go, No, now I have to go.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
It's fine, it's we got the cover girls, we don't
need you. Oh yeah. Now, but that was the thing
about Rain.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Everybody including me, would go out to dinner and then
go to Rain and packed. You know who the DJs were,
my nephew, buddy DJ Costa and Randy.

Speaker 6 (04:39):
Our buddy Costa.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
Is that old, Well he was.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
Just starting out, he was young. Yeah, that was his
first DJ gig. And Randy at the time was like
an intron on the show. Became our stunt guy and
that was his for No. He did the tent in
Quincy and then he came out to Rain.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
I have to say these were some of the best
to nights, Like, we had so much fun on here.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
Yeah, because it was a time when people, you know,
they made a big deal about going out right and
everybody wanted to dance and it was a lively atmosphere.
And again by the time people got to Rain, they
had been out for a couple of drinks or went
to dinner and had a couple of drinks. So everybody
was in a good mood. So we're gonna turn the
clocks back. And I don't even know what year we're

(05:23):
talking about. When is the like what times doors open
at eight?

Speaker 1 (05:28):
O'clock. You can get tickets at mixed three to sixty.
That's mixed with two x's dot com slash Rain. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (05:33):
Wait, Bill, you're gonna be out there at like eleven pm?

Speaker 1 (05:35):
Oh definitely.

Speaker 6 (05:36):
Oh maybe I will have to saturn out.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
We're turning the clocks back. You're coming, Come on, We're
not going to be there saying hello to Spring.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
Yeah you know what I'm saying. Well, yeah, but the
King of Freestyle was a regular. Stevie B would come
in live. We had live performers like the cover girls,
Stevie B, Debbie Gibson, like a lot of different artists
would committed to perform.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
How old are the other coup of girls? Oh, I
don't know, probably in your sixties.

Speaker 8 (06:04):
You know what?

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Else?

Speaker 2 (06:05):
We had dancers. We had the rain dancers who would
dance on top of the speaker columns. Oh my god, wow,
I guess a couple of them are coming in.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
Or to dance.

Speaker 4 (06:15):
They're still dancing.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
I think I climb on the speakers.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
One of them, I'm told by Anthony, the owner, one
of them became a professional dancer.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
And yeah, so it's going to be interesting.

Speaker 6 (06:28):
What is this event?

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Three of the top DJs from that era are coming
into space.

Speaker 4 (06:32):
This event is going to be so much fun.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
It's going to be yeah, yeah, I'm there. I'm pulling
up to this.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
So it's a week from Saturday night, and it's now
Mixed three sixty en Route ninety nine and Mall. Then
you can go to Mix three sixty dot com for tickets.

Speaker 4 (06:44):
Okay, yeah, you have to register. You have to get
the ticket.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
Get the ticket. Oh yeah, go to the website. It's
going to sell out. I've never I've never been. I
used to spend a lot of time in the Townline
Hotel right neck.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
Well the same owner, really, Anthony's family also owned the
Townline Motel and the whole trailer park along Route one.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
Yeah, that was all his. I did some stuff in
that hotel.

Speaker 6 (07:06):
By the hour. You rent it by the hour.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
I don't think you can.

Speaker 9 (07:10):
Know.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
I think they used to have what they call makeover
people now. They had one up on Root one. It
was called Mario's Motor Love and you could rent by
the hour, right and they had hard shaped Racuozi's in
the room. The TV's only played pornography, mirrors and you.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
Can rent the heart shaped bed Vibrate I think you
put a quarter in right.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
Yeah, maybe, yeah, I don't really remember, but I was.
I was showing up there anyway. I went to a party.
Come on, we're all going come on. Yeah, Paula was there.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
My wife Michelle already has a guest list of about
thirty five people that want to go.

Speaker 4 (07:49):
Well, we're going to be on the dance floor the
whole night.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
Oh yeah, we're dancing, all right. You know what the
big dance was the cabbage Patch. Oh well, we got
to bring it back.

Speaker 5 (08:00):
People watching HiT's One Wait with the Billy and Lisa's
weird stories.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
All right, so something is going viral. And British woman
that lives actually in Michigan listed her favorite American terms
that she never hears in England and she thinks they're
really funny.

Speaker 10 (08:17):
My absolute favorite is good job. Then it's got to
be you're all set. I love hearing y'all. My husband
says this all the time. Get a hold, I gotta
get a hold of someone. Another absolute favorite is liquor.
And on another foot is stove. I love stove because

(08:38):
britis just call it a cucka. Another favorite is the
huh like as you're saying interesting I love that, and
another one is have a good one.

Speaker 4 (08:49):
They don't say those things.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
I love that cooker? Is that what she s? Cooker? Yeah? Well,
but Boston we have our own. We do the remote
control of the clicker.

Speaker 7 (09:00):
I said that yesterday the name of someone, and they're like, ew,
why'd you say it like that?

Speaker 6 (09:04):
And I was like a clicker, Oh yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
It's the clicker. Am in my house? Like my son,
he's eight years old. Where's the clicker? Yeah? Yeah, what
are you supposed to say? The remote remote?

Speaker 4 (09:14):
I always say, where's the clicker?

Speaker 1 (09:15):
Yeah? Hand me the clicker every night, honey, hand me
the clicker.

Speaker 4 (09:18):
Is that like a Boston Bay?

Speaker 1 (09:19):
I believe it is? Bubbla fountain? Bubbla. Yeah, there's a bunch.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
So a woman went on TikTok to vent after she
fell asleep on a cross country flight and the guy
sitting behind her braided her hair. Yeah, he did a
small braid in the back and apparently she never even
confronted him.

Speaker 9 (09:42):
The man that braided my hair, Well, I was sleep
on the plane. I need you to come forth immediately,
you said, directly behind me. Some people might say, how
did you let somebody braid your hair. First of all,
when I get on the plane, I don't sleep.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
I hi Berne.

Speaker 9 (09:55):
I remember specifically, I'm sleep on the plane and I hear.

Speaker 6 (10:01):
And I said, who was taking pictures?

Speaker 9 (10:03):
And when I wake up, it's literally right in my ear.
That's where I found the break. Don't touch people while
they're sleep, It's weird.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
Yeah, she didn't notice the bread until she got to
the airbnb.

Speaker 4 (10:13):
It is really weird.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
That's pretty creepy.

Speaker 6 (10:15):
Is it weird that I want to know if he
did a good job or not He did a good job,
like I would have been that mad, like things for
doing my hair.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
When I was growing out by our friends and I,
you know, we'd party and stuff, and whoever fell asleep,
we'd do stuff to them, you know what I mean,
like funny stuff, draw on their face. Like one time
my friend passed out and we took his hand and
put it in a bowl of warm water.

Speaker 4 (10:39):
Does that work?

Speaker 1 (10:40):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (10:40):
Pitp yeah, while he was sleeping.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
Yeah, you know, we did one night.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
My old friend John Ferrari, used to have parties all
the time in his basement and one of the guys
that was their carl when he was sleeping because he
passed out drunk.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
We shaved his eyebrows. Both of them are one.

Speaker 4 (10:58):
Oh my god, hostile.

Speaker 6 (11:00):
Did they grow back?

Speaker 1 (11:03):
I don't know the guy who Carl again?

Speaker 3 (11:05):
Oh Carl looks different now?

Speaker 6 (11:09):
Yeah, does Carl, if you're still alive, please give me.

Speaker 4 (11:14):
Did they grow back? Oh my god, that's awful.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
They're probably not the same.

Speaker 6 (11:18):
They probably looked back weird.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
Oh yeah, we were awful people.

Speaker 4 (11:21):
You altered him for life.

Speaker 6 (11:23):
Yeah, wow, you're not that great now either. I hate
to tell you.

Speaker 1 (11:26):
Yeah you noticed I didn't say his last name.

Speaker 7 (11:28):
Yeah, but you said John Ferrari. All right, So boy,
John Ferrari, wherever you are?

Speaker 1 (11:34):
Where Carl at.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
Oh boy? We're coming up on the entertainment. All we
want to talk about, and I know what people listening to.
All you want to talk about is the White Lotus
Because the finale is coming up Sunday. We're going to
hear from a couple of the cast members and we're
gonna get cast our votes on who we think.

Speaker 1 (11:57):
Is going to get killed and who's going to do
the killing. That's up next. What's up, Boston.

Speaker 10 (12:01):
I'm justin Bieber. Let's just turn up this party right now.

Speaker 4 (12:03):
And we're back with Billy and Lisa in the morning, and.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
We've got more talkbacks. Let's get a couple in anyway. Justin, Yeah,
this hour, we talked about the Rain Nightclub reunion that
Billy Costa is hosting with the Cover Girls that's coming
up a week from Saturday, April twelve. I did post
a flyer and I sent it to my wife Jen
and I said do you want to go? And she
is pumped. Oh, okay, Yeah, it's a big deal.

Speaker 11 (12:26):
Come on, Good morning, Billy, Lisa, Justin and Winnie Alert listener.

Speaker 7 (12:31):
Lily here calling in to talk about my birthday at
Rain night Club back in two thousand and seven.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
Billy was up there hosting.

Speaker 12 (12:44):
He led all of my friends up on the stage
and we partied until we shut the place down.

Speaker 6 (12:49):
The best year of my life.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
Everybody's welcome on the stage. Let's go. It's next Saturday night,
the Rain Reunion. Jurned the Clarks back. Yeah, well she
Lily needs to come, bring all da you know, it's
gonna be a good night. I'm actually I'm really excited
for this. It's gonna be a great time. So mixed
three sixty dot com for tickets.

Speaker 13 (13:08):
Now the Entertainment updates with a Billy Codstad.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
Okay, so the White Lotus finale is this Sunday night.
We're all excited. We all have watched the show since
the beginning of season one, right.

Speaker 3 (13:20):
Yeah, all we want to talk about is who gets
killed and who did the killing.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
Now, we had some guesses earlier in the show, and
I think Justin made note of it. Yeah, you want
to change your guesses on who gets killed?

Speaker 4 (13:33):
Well, no, no, I'm sticking my mind.

Speaker 1 (13:35):
I have them. Lisa thinks it's gonna be Piper or Lachlan.
Billy thinks it's gonna be Saxon. I think it's gonna
be Chelsea in Winnie thinks Belinda or.

Speaker 7 (13:43):
Gary gotta get rid of from season one.

Speaker 1 (13:46):
To what do our listeners think?

Speaker 14 (13:48):
Yeah, this is Mark and I think on White Lotus
it's gonna be Mook that dies, and I think it's
going to be Guy Talk that shoots her.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
I think it's gonna be very tragic.

Speaker 14 (13:58):
But he stole the gun back, so I'm pretty sure
he's gonna end up killing the woman he loves.

Speaker 7 (14:05):
Yeah, well, she's been kind of mean to him. I
did not like her in last In the last episode
when he's trying to say he's not a fighter.

Speaker 6 (14:13):
She's like, it's a fact, I'm flying. Like, all right,
he's a sweet man.

Speaker 1 (14:16):
He's a lover, not a fighter. Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 15 (14:19):
So my white Lotus theory is that Belinda is the shooter,
because you know, the opening scene is obviously her son
in the water and he's so worried.

Speaker 10 (14:28):
About his mom.

Speaker 16 (14:29):
Iyane.

Speaker 15 (14:29):
The irony would be that his mom is the shooter.
And she's just like such an innocent character and she's
so sweet and kind and like, I just feel like
no one would suspect her. So I think that's kind
of like my unpopular opinion.

Speaker 4 (14:43):
It's so true though, it could be anyone.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
Yeah, that's genius.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
The way they set it up. You can't possibly guess,
you can for sure. But the opening scene wasn't the
resort under attack.

Speaker 1 (14:54):
Yeah there were gunshots. Ye, Blinda's son was having his
one on one the yoga or meditation, and the gunshots ran
off and heeled that's my mom, and he ran. So
that's why I don't think Belinda dies per se, But.

Speaker 3 (15:08):
I just think it's someone that gets caught in the crossfire. Yeah,
that's tragic.

Speaker 7 (15:13):
Those three girls, to me, seems Sonnet like their storyline
is to me is annoying. So maybe, like Billy said,
maybe they one of them gets killed, like you said,
because it's just swing in the crossfire or something else.

Speaker 1 (15:23):
I just love when she slept with the one of
the robber guys. As soon as they were done, they
were passionate sex. He's like, hey, I need some money.

Speaker 4 (15:36):
She's like, I don't really have that kind of money.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
She finally got lucky.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
Minute later, pushed out of the window by but don't
forget she did notice the jewelry that was stolen from
the hotel the counter on her way out the window. Anyway,
I love this guy, Gary or Greg. He started as
Greg and now he's Gary. And he was in Napoleon.

Speaker 4 (16:01):
Dinamos, Uncle Rico.

Speaker 1 (16:02):
Yeah, and he's been.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
In a lot of movies that you wouldn't even know.
Well he's a character actor. But he went on Kimball
this week and he's the only cast member that's been
on all three seasons.

Speaker 12 (16:15):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
And he was asked how that happened? How did you
find out you're going to be on another season?

Speaker 17 (16:20):
A text from Mike White just Mike White said, hey,
like text me and said Hey, listen, I'm writing season
two and you know, are you going to be available
or should I not write you? And I was like, no, no, no,
I'm there wherever you say, any time, anywhere.

Speaker 1 (16:32):
Is it fair to say that makes you Mike's favorite?

Speaker 17 (16:36):
My gosh, No, But I hope he. I hope he.
You know, you know he has a good ending for
me somewhere.

Speaker 1 (16:43):
I don't know, maybe this year. You never know. I
never has no ending for it should be in every incarnation.

Speaker 17 (16:48):
Thank you for saying no. He's a genius.

Speaker 1 (16:50):
By the way, how good is Mike White good? The
guy who puts this thing together?

Speaker 6 (16:55):
He's an interesting writer for sure.

Speaker 1 (16:57):
And will there be a season four? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (17:01):
Yeah, And I wonder where, Speaking of which, nobody has
talked about that tragic earthquake in and Thiland and the
fact that this season that we're watching were shot from Thailand.

Speaker 1 (17:14):
I know, I mean, it's terrific. What's happening over there?
Did you see the videos?

Speaker 4 (17:20):
Yes, it was horrific.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
On the big skyscraper, Yeah, the water just pouring down,
Oh yeah, from the swimming pool on the roof.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
And by the way, they rescued somebody yesterday, they pulled
somebody out of the rubble.

Speaker 3 (17:30):
It's interesting in the beginning of The White Lettuce they
do reference the major tsunami that did happen years ago
when they it was like one hundred thousands of like
so many people were killed.

Speaker 17 (17:41):
The gay.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
I was es and that was a movie. Wasn't that impossible?

Speaker 4 (17:47):
It was with Naomi Watts. It happen like four It
was a true story.

Speaker 7 (17:53):
That.

Speaker 1 (17:53):
Oh what a good movie.

Speaker 4 (17:54):
Yeah, that was the family that survived.

Speaker 2 (17:57):
Yeah, it was Naomi Watts and her husband was the
guy that did the Love is like love is you know,
you know the thing. Love is like oxygen, Love is alive.
And yeah, he was the husband and that I love
that guy anyway.

Speaker 1 (18:10):
Hot tip, that's a good movie.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
Hot tip. The Impossible. Jennifer Coolidge is going to be
the commencement speaker for Emerson this year, and she gets
a little weird at the microphone. This was her accepting
the award for an Emmy recently.

Speaker 11 (18:24):
I just want to say, you know, I took a
lavender bath tonight and right before the show, and it
made me swell up inside my dress and I'm having
a hard time speaking.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
Wasn't she just honored at the Hasty Pudding as well.
Jennifer Coolidge.

Speaker 1 (18:40):
Yeah, yeah, last year.

Speaker 2 (18:42):
And there's a docu series on the way dealing with
the Blake Lively Justin Beldonie feud Lively accusing him of
sexual harassment on the set of the movie. It ends
with us and Meldonie counter sewing for defamation.

Speaker 1 (18:57):
Lisa, have you seen that movie? I have it. Oh
wait a minute, I did see it. It ends with us.

Speaker 4 (19:02):
I saw it and it was part of my book club.
Oh so we read the book and then we watched
the movie at Showcase.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
That's right.

Speaker 4 (19:09):
Yeah, the first weekend that the book came out, I
mean the movie came out. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (19:12):
I loved both the book and the movie. I thought
they did a really good job because it's it's a
tough topic. It's about abuse, and I thought that they
handled it well.

Speaker 1 (19:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (19:23):
The docu series will drop on Disney Plus in June.
They're telling us and there's a weird story involving Ryan Reynolds.

Speaker 1 (19:30):
He's gotten weird. I always loved Ryan Reight.

Speaker 4 (19:33):
The two of them, I don't know what's going on
with them.

Speaker 1 (19:35):
Yeah, they just clashed.

Speaker 2 (19:37):
I think they feed off of each other, I guess.
But his new movie that's coming out, which is Deadpool Wolverine.
Is it out already or on its way? I believe
it is out on Disney Plus. Yeah, and his seven
year old daughter in real life. Her name is i Nez.
She's got a part in the movie. But it's this
weird line that they made her deliver in the movie

(19:59):
that as everybody clapping back at Ryan Reynolds thinking he's
a crazy person. You're gonna hear the daughter in this scene.
Check it out.

Speaker 1 (20:07):
Cool Prime here our fight you.

Speaker 11 (20:10):
When I want your opinion, I'll take Wolverine.

Speaker 18 (20:13):
No.

Speaker 13 (20:13):
No.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
I wonder why this is just coming out now. The
movie's been out, I know, like a year ago.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
Well it's almost now like they're searching for stories around
Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively and reports this morning now
say that Justin Bieber's wife Haley has unfollowed him on Instagram.
But I guess it was just a mistake.

Speaker 4 (20:32):
It's just a glitch.

Speaker 3 (20:33):
They're just reading into too many silly things, like they
both moved on, Like Selena's moved on big time with Benny.

Speaker 4 (20:41):
Haley and Justin have a baby.

Speaker 9 (20:43):
Now.

Speaker 4 (20:43):
Yeah, it's like they have to stop.

Speaker 2 (20:45):
Yeah, I think that Benny Selena Gomez. I like that
relationship totally.

Speaker 7 (20:50):
But it's like talking about someone you dated in high
school and you're thirty. But it doesn't it's not it
doesn't equate to your life now, right, and if you
just can't let it go.

Speaker 2 (21:00):
Here's a reminder of the new Ed Sheeran song comes
out this Friday, right Asi Zam, which we love?

Speaker 1 (21:06):
Can we like it?

Speaker 6 (21:07):
Of course?

Speaker 2 (21:20):
God, I wanted to become number one in the country
the day after it comes out.

Speaker 6 (21:24):
I already like obsessed with sixteen seconds.

Speaker 4 (21:27):
Of it is such a good vibe.

Speaker 3 (21:28):
Yeah, but you're right that we were talking earlier that
this could be the new criminal, you know, the Meghan
Trainer A Perfect Couple song as like a big group
dance kind of thing.

Speaker 4 (21:35):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
Actually, they should steal the line dance from the Perfect
Couple and use it for because it's kind of the
same beats, per minutent and the same kind of sound. Anyway,
that comes out on Friday, New form d Shearon. I
guess he's been releasing large heart shaped balloons all over
the world in anticipation of the release.

Speaker 1 (21:52):
Yeah, pink hearts all over like every big city in
the World, Tokyo, Paris, all over the place.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
How good is edg cheer? And when you think about
when he first came out, it was just him and
the guitar and the foot pedals.

Speaker 1 (22:06):
He's a he's a hit maker, for sure, he's musical genius.
But you know they also say that he's one of
the most or the most profitable music artist. Oh really,
well they think about his tours sellout right, stadiums are
sold out. I think he sold the most tickets are
close to of all time. And he has no band, right,
it's just him. It's just him. He does everything with
his foot. He has the pedals that he uses.

Speaker 2 (22:28):
He still doesn't travel with the band, so it's just
the pedals in himself.

Speaker 7 (22:33):
It's a very low operating cost. And honestly, his show
I went to see him at uallyte great show. But
he doesn't do anything crazy with sah stuff. I mean,
it's a cool when I saw it, like a cool
circle because obviously he was in the center of the field,
but like it wasn't anything that probably costs him.

Speaker 4 (22:48):
He didst calling saw the same thing.

Speaker 1 (22:51):
You're in any of those cities, look out for the balloons.

Speaker 2 (22:56):
So Will Smith has a new album and a new
tour on the way, and now he says there's going
to be another Men in Black movie. Well, he's really
trying for a comeback. I mean he's touching all the
bases and speaking of bases and sports. While the Celts
beat the Grizzlies one seventeen, one oh three.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
So they've won.

Speaker 2 (23:14):
Nine games in a row. You just can't get hotter
than that. We love them, nine games in a row.
Red Sox they lost again. If you're keeping score, Raphael
Dever's the dh O for nineteen now.

Speaker 1 (23:30):
It's very alarming. He's their best hitter.

Speaker 6 (23:32):
Can we bring Poppy back? You think he'll come out retirement?

Speaker 2 (23:36):
You know, Justin has a theory and I'm not ruling
it out that he could be doing it on purpose
now because he's so mad they took him off third base.

Speaker 7 (23:42):
It's the fifteen strikeouts that make you kind of like,
you know what I mean, like.

Speaker 4 (23:46):
Would he really be that petty when you're that mad?

Speaker 2 (23:50):
I mean, he made it very clear, he said there's
no way I'm getting off third base, and they still
went with the move. Alix Scorer still took him off.
He also put on some weight a little bit you
think he's having trouble getting around.

Speaker 7 (24:04):
Together, and in true baseball fashion, he'll still make a
one hundred million dollars.

Speaker 2 (24:07):
Yeah, oh yeah, hell yeah. March Madness. The women's Final
four is set Friday. Ucla will place South Carolina, Texas
will take on Yukon and the men's final four Duke
Place Houston, Auburn place Florida. That's on Saturday, and the
reminder of the double play fly away. We kicked it
off again this morning with the artists of the day.

Speaker 2 (25:43):
Big eight o'clock hour, justin. I guess we have a
big reunion coming up, and everybody's going.

Speaker 1 (25:49):
Well, you're hosting Bill at Rain Nightclub. You are gonna
be with the cover girls at Rain Nightclub. Reunion. That's
gonna be April twelfth, the week from this Saturday, and
it's gonna be fun. I'm going We're all going to Billy.

Speaker 16 (26:02):
I have a question. Was Rain the same place as
the Palace, because I don't know if I ever went
to Rain, but I know I went to the Palace
or were they different times because they were both near.

Speaker 6 (26:13):
Route ninety nine. I want to part on days of
our lives at the Palace. It was some stupid talent show. Anyway,
it sounds like a.

Speaker 2 (26:22):
Lot of Yeah, it's not the same as the Palace.
The Palace was right up the street at the Chateau.

Speaker 3 (26:27):
De Ville, but it was around the same time, right
The rain came after the popularity.

Speaker 1 (26:31):
Yeah, it was past Rain on the corner that before
you hit Route one the Dallas and they had several
different clubs. The office of the club formerly the Palace
Entertainments Complex Route ninety nine soggy. Where do you get
this stuff?

Speaker 6 (26:45):
You impressed me every game.

Speaker 1 (26:47):
We don't ask questions the game. Also in the eight
o'clock hour, we talked about, well, it was a weird
story about a girl was on a plane, fell asleep
and a guy braided her hair. So then we were
talking about kind of pranks that we did when people
fell asleep.

Speaker 12 (26:59):
Oh funny story. When my husband was younger, he passed
out at a party and the next day went to
his job as a lifeguard on a private beach, only
to find out that all of his buddies had drawn
penises all over his back. Needless to say, the beach

(27:19):
members did not find it nearly as funny as they did.
I'm not sure this is appropriate for the radio, but
I thought it was pretty funny.

Speaker 4 (27:26):
Okay, that is the funniest, Like, how did they come
up with penises?

Speaker 1 (27:33):
I don't know. Wow, that's crazy. And now the White Lotus,
obviously the finale is this weekend. We gave our predictions
and who we think is going to die? Everyone else
is given theirs too.

Speaker 10 (27:41):
Hey, good morning. My take on the White Lotus is
that maybe it's a tsunami and everyone gets wiped out.

Speaker 1 (27:51):
Just a thought that actually is could be true because
they did kind of mention that they spent a little
bit of time on the tsunamis, so that's a possibility too.

Speaker 7 (28:00):
But after they someone shot, because we see the opening
scene where someone.

Speaker 1 (28:03):
Was shot, I know, but you never know what happens after.
I don't know Mike White, who knows it could.

Speaker 13 (28:08):
Be tsunami from the planet Fitness Kiss one O eight Studios.
We're back with Villy and Lisa in the morning on
Kiss All.

Speaker 2 (28:17):
Rana Grande right there, although it was not two Ariana
Grande songs in a row, but that will happen at
some point today.

Speaker 3 (28:25):
Right exactly. You have to be listening all day. That's
why you need to make Kiss one to wait. You're
a number one preset in your car and on the
iHeartRadio app. Because if we played two Ariana songs back
to back and your caller twenty five, you will win
that trip to Universal Orlando for five nights, four days, right, sorry,
five days, four nights.

Speaker 2 (28:42):
And it'll happen at some point today. It just hasn't
happened yet, Okay. The Karen Reid trial, the retrial starts
today with jury selection. Catherine Loftus is our expert on
the red trial. She's been following it from the get go.

Speaker 6 (28:56):
Good morning, counselor good morning, how's everybody in?

Speaker 13 (29:00):
Today's the day it is?

Speaker 1 (29:02):
Boy, aren't you the queen of all media? Now I'm
seeing you everywhere.

Speaker 13 (29:07):
It all started with you, guys, I go it to you, Billy, Lisa,
we go somebody else will we invented?

Speaker 2 (29:15):
I saw you on WBZ TV. I think it was
this morning. You looked fabulous.

Speaker 13 (29:19):
Thank you very much, Thank you very much. I'll be
on almost every day with Christina Rex. We'll be doing
afternoon reviews and hopefully we'll have kind of a breakdown
once a week, so between you guys in the morning
and Christina in the afternoon, hopefully we can get everybody
answer the questions that they have.

Speaker 2 (29:36):
All Right, we have a ton of questions. I want
to start with this one. I know Lisa's got a
bunch of them. We all have questions. First of all,
that docu series which I watched start to finish, was
that good or bad for Karen Reid?

Speaker 13 (29:48):
I think overall, in terms of what's going to happen
in court, it's probably not good. I'm not sure if
you have seen, but the Cammwealth filed emotion to get
all of the both aired and unedited unaired footage which
has been provided to the court. What the Comwealth will
likely do is go through that piece by piece and

(30:10):
use some of those statements against misreading court. So I think, overall,
from a legal perspective, it was not good for from
a public perspective, I think people had different sort of
opinions on whether it was beneficial to her or not.
But as you guys know, this sort of the public
part of this case, and then there is the court
part of the case and the two different implications. So

(30:31):
in court, I don't think it will likely help her.

Speaker 3 (30:34):
What do you think are going to be the biggest
differences in this trial to sort of draw people back in?
And then also what are they going to do with
Procter since he's been terminated, how will that affect the case?

Speaker 13 (30:46):
So in terms of what is likely to be different,
I think that the prosecution is going to be much
more on the offense than they were the last time.
Most of the time the presentation from the Comonwealth seemed
to be defending themselves against the defense's theory, which is
that Karen Reid was framed, This is a cover up

(31:06):
and a conspiracy, and so a lot of the testimony
that was taken and put on by the Commonwealth was
in fact trying to refute that. I don't think Attorney
Brennan is going to take that tax He's really going
to try to prove what his theory of the cases
is that Karen Reid hit and killed John O'Keeffe. And
if any of that information relative to the defense theory

(31:27):
comes in, it will be after the defense presents theirs
in what we call a rebuttal case.

Speaker 6 (31:32):
So I think it will.

Speaker 13 (31:33):
Look very different. It's going to be likely much more concise,
probably much clearer to understand, hopefully a little bit shorter,
but with one hundred and fifty witnesses on the list,
that might be more hope than anything else at this point.
So I think it's going to look pretty different at
the end of the day.

Speaker 2 (31:50):
But the fact is the fact that Proctor was fired
doesn't that prove that the case was mishandled.

Speaker 13 (31:57):
So it doesn't in and of itself prove that the
case was miss handled. What it does is allows the
defense to use that as an attack on his reliability
and basically to be able to uge it to the jury.
Look at, not only are we telling you that this
is a state police trooper that engaged in misconduct, but
his own department found him in violation and said that

(32:20):
he had at least the appearance of bias and that
the manner in which he engaged with the defender Karen
Reid and speaking about her, So it gives the defense
certainly more ammo in there what we call the vote
in defense, which is that the investigation was so subpar
and insufficient that the jury cannot convict her beyond a
reasonable doubt. So it certainly helps. I don't know that

(32:44):
it's going to be that much worse, given how bad
it was the first time for Michael Proctor. I mean,
we all heard those text messages, we all heard the
way he was speaking about her. So he came off
pretty bad the first time around, and I think he's
likely to guard to come off the same this time.

Speaker 4 (32:58):
How long do you think this jury process will take
the selection.

Speaker 13 (33:02):
I think it's likely to be a few weeks. Last time,
I believe we were five or six days to pick
the entire jury, there was a lot of publicity, so
obviously this was a little bit slower. There's even more
publicity this time, all the documentaries, all the articles that
have come out. So what the court is trying to
do when both parties have come off in the defense
is not just find people who haven't ever heard of this,

(33:25):
because that's unrealistic. In Massachusetts, at this point, particularly in
norf Thel country, So they're trying to find jurors that
can be fair and impartial that while maybe they have
heard of the case, they haven't made a decision. But
that's going to be difficult because so many people are
in fact following along. So I would bet we are
probably somewhere around the two week maybe a little bit over,

(33:47):
getting up on a three week mark to pick a jury.
They have quite a few coming in. I think there's
one hundred and eighty five that were summonsed in today,
so per day, per day. Yep, it's a very big
pool because you know, as you guys know and as
your listeners know, so many of us are intimately following
this case, and so a large number of these jurors

(34:09):
are going to be automatically, you know, struck for cause
because they can't possibly be impartial or fair to Karen Reid.
So it's going to be a little bit of a
lengthy process, but I think we will get a jury.
I'd say probably two weeks or so.

Speaker 2 (34:25):
But in a weird twist last week, Reid's team hired
a juror from the first trial as a member of
the defense team.

Speaker 1 (34:33):
Is that person, even a lawyer.

Speaker 3 (34:36):
She is a lawyer.

Speaker 13 (34:37):
She's been a lawyer for a couple of years. I
believe she was in labor and employment law prior to
sitting on the jury. And I'm not sure she had
practiced between you know, getting off of the jury and
being hired by attorney and Nettie's office. But one of
those things that I don't know that it has ever
happened anywhere, the jury sticks whatever before that a former

(34:59):
jury it becomes an attorney for the defendant. But as
with everything in this case, it's always a twist in
a turn.

Speaker 2 (35:06):
Well with this juror lawyer so to speak, do you
think Read's team has something up their sleeve.

Speaker 13 (35:12):
Well, I think what they'll use her for is to
get some insight into what the jury was thinking while
she wasn't a deliberating juror. So that means that they
the jurors before they deliberate, they're not allowed to, you know,
converse about the case. They're not allowed to discuss it.
But you know that you understand, you know, when you're
spending enough time with people over months and months, you
get a general feel of how other jurors may have

(35:34):
felt about evidence. Things like that, So she likely is
to play more of a jury consulted part than actually
as an attorney. I don't expect that she'll take any witnesses,
that she'll argue a court or anything like that, but
it's certainly a win for the defense team to get
a little bit of insight into the jury, which you
almost never do.

Speaker 2 (35:53):
So potentially a couple one hundred potential jurors will be
paraded in today and probably more tomorrow, more the next day.
But you know, Catherine, Welcome back to The Billy and
Lisa Morning Show. Karen Reid Part two.

Speaker 6 (36:05):
Oh a long time.

Speaker 1 (36:11):
Kiss talk back leftover, So let's go justin. You know,
we like to be informative on the Billy and Lisa Show,
keep people up to date on what's happening. And it pays.
I'm going to say it right now, it pays to
listen to this radio program.

Speaker 19 (36:24):
Good morning everyone, It's Leanna from Wooburn. I just wanted
to say thank you guys for letting me know to
text last Wednesday for the Edge Sharon pop up. I
was one of the lucky sixty five to go Friday
night and it was absolutely magical, So thank you guys,
so much pace to listen to kiss, want to wait
every morning.

Speaker 4 (36:44):
I wonder what photos she sent?

Speaker 1 (36:47):
You know what? Leanna reached back out.

Speaker 4 (36:49):
Yeah, I would love to know that.

Speaker 1 (36:50):
Yeah what she sent?

Speaker 4 (36:51):
Right?

Speaker 1 (36:52):
Yeah, because you tried and failed justin Yeah, I mean
I sent a video though. Maybe that's why. Maybe they
were looking for more texts.

Speaker 4 (36:58):
Well, they said they were going to put them up
on the all Yeah during the.

Speaker 1 (37:01):
Video heartfelt texts. Maybe I'd love to know. Leanna reached
back out to us. But it is April first, April
Fool's Day, and this is not a prank.

Speaker 20 (37:09):
Guys, I have terrible news. Hooters, the restaurant franchise, The
Lovely Ladies is filing for bankruptcy. Not an April Fools prank.
This is horrible.

Speaker 1 (37:23):
Yeah, I looked it up.

Speaker 8 (37:24):
It is.

Speaker 1 (37:24):
It is true.

Speaker 6 (37:25):
There is not that good.

Speaker 1 (37:27):
Okay, what's not about the food winning?

Speaker 6 (37:29):
I understand what it's.

Speaker 4 (37:30):
About the atmosphere.

Speaker 1 (37:32):
It wasn't like the old days.

Speaker 4 (37:34):
It didn't that way. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (37:36):
Yeah, it's in the end of the day.

Speaker 21 (37:41):
I know we're not going to.

Speaker 4 (37:45):
I can't think we know what you were going to do.

Speaker 1 (37:54):
We'll take a look back at the whole show everything
you missed. We had a good topic time about April
Fool's Day, pranks and a big event coming that's gonna
be hosted by Billy Costna. You can go to all
those details in the wrap up next Kids One Away.

Speaker 4 (38:07):
It's the morning wrap up on Billy and Lisa in
the Morning.

Speaker 1 (38:11):
All right, let's wrap this thing up. Let's start with
a little update. A few minutes ago, we had a
girl who made it to the ed shar and pop up.
She texted the number which she heard on this show
from Billy and Lisa, and she made it and we
were wondering what she sent yea through the text.

Speaker 21 (38:25):
Hey, guys, so I actually uploaded a picture of when
I gave birth to my daughter almost eleven years ago.
It was just a picture of me and her, and
the person in front of me in line actually was
in Chicago. She had seen it on Instagram.

Speaker 19 (38:41):
And had sent to texts the week prior.

Speaker 4 (38:44):
So it was just the luck of the draw.

Speaker 21 (38:46):
I think I was just very lucky.

Speaker 16 (38:48):
Thanks guys.

Speaker 1 (38:50):
Yeah, she made it in the door nice it's pub. Yeah,
that's really cool. Wow, so someone came all the way
from Chicago.

Speaker 7 (38:57):
That's crazy and they probably weren't even sure until day
up if they're going to be able to get in.

Speaker 1 (39:01):
Yeah, rabbit fans, sure. Yeah. Also this morning, of course,
it's April Fool's Day, so our topic time was all
about pranks, and you know, April fools Day pranks got
a lot of older ones. We wanted some ones that
are kind of current.

Speaker 22 (39:12):
Good morning. I am a third grade teacher, and I
was wondering for myself, like what could I do as
a prank that's just harmless and funny with my students,
And I landed on those tiny hands that Christian Way
wears in ethanel fits. I'm just gonna whip those out
and act like everything's really normal.

Speaker 4 (39:35):
I'm happy April fool.

Speaker 3 (39:36):
I have to tell you we have those at the house,
and anytime anyone ever pops them on.

Speaker 4 (39:41):
I legitimately lose it. So that's going to be an
awesome one.

Speaker 2 (39:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (39:45):
Where'd you get them?

Speaker 4 (39:47):
I don't know, like some like Halloween store.

Speaker 6 (39:51):
Yeah, I know.

Speaker 1 (39:52):
It's well, take a picture for us, send it in
and leave us a talk back tomorrow and let us
know how it went.

Speaker 16 (39:58):
My coworker a sign on our coffee machine saying that
it is a new program and you have to scream
at the coffee here in order for it to work.
So make sure that you scream at it very loud,
and you might have to repeat.

Speaker 7 (40:16):
Yourself for Billy because he does it anyways, Well, I.

Speaker 2 (40:22):
Have problems with the coffee machine every morning.

Speaker 1 (40:26):
The White Lady White Lotus finale is this weekend. We
were giving our predictions on who's going to die or
listeners were as well.

Speaker 18 (40:33):
I think on the season finale of White Lotus, I
think the character Piper finds the gun, finds out what
her two brothers did, she decides she wants to shoot
one of them. Park A Posi's character Victoria comes walking

(40:53):
in and says Piper, no.

Speaker 4 (40:57):
That could happen.

Speaker 1 (40:59):
You never know, Hyper No, there is a demand for Piper.
I mean the character Victoria to come back the next season. Yeah. Yeah,
she's a good character. Yeah, and he usually he will
carry over characters, as we see with Gary, so who knows.
Coming up Saturday, April twelfth, Billy Costa is making his

(41:19):
return to Rain Nightclub right here in Malden. He used
to host it years ago with the cover girls.

Speaker 8 (41:25):
You guys just hyped up this event, so I went
and googled it, and I'm looking at the nightclub and
it is an hour and a half away from where
I live. Why can't we have something like that down
here in the South Shore, closer to Taunton area.

Speaker 1 (41:38):
Okay, well you can make the drive. It's going to
be a big night. Yeah, it's the Rain Reunion.

Speaker 6 (41:42):
It's probably an hour and a half because of traffic
right now.

Speaker 1 (41:45):
Right, she probably put it into her Google Maps. Yeah, yeah,
well whatever, we love time. Hello, thank you, Billy.

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
