Speaker 1 (00:00):
Okay, we're back and it's time to play. To make
a match game again, a lot of prizes up for grabs.
We need twenty five caller twenty five six one seven,
nine three one one o eight. And while we wait
for caller twenty five, what do you want to do
justin Well, you know what's great about the match game.
You know what's great about this show is you can
(00:21):
listen to the show and you can play the match
game from anywhere, even way up in the air.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
Good morning, morning crew. I don't know about anyone else,
but this match game is going to be the death
of me. I was even up on a mountain, way
up four thousand feet up in New Hampshire. To my surprise,
the app was working. I got to lock down two matches,
but could not get to it this morning. Who are
the people who get to I'm like losing sleep over this,
(00:46):
or are they?
Speaker 1 (00:48):
It's not easy? Yeah, well there are only so many
phone lines, and you know, we got to keep going
through them till we get a call of twenty five.
And that's the way the game is played, the way
it's always been played. I mean, I'm watching producer Riley
right now on the phone line. She's a little going
through to call her twenty five and like Billy said,
there's only a few lines and sixth lines, there's six lines.
Think about how many people are calling? Yeah, I don't know.
(01:08):
And as we get deeper and deeper into the game,
you know, like it it gets even crazy and.
Speaker 3 (01:13):
People know where the matches are and then it must
be like so frustrating.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
And there were some good ones up there still.
Speaker 4 (01:18):
One thousand dollars visa gift card is one of them.
And movies for a year from Showcase, and we have
Mark the movie Nerd calling in in like five minutes.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
Imagine you get the movies for a year and you
can start with the Jurassic movie it opens today. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:31):
What's great about Mark two from Showcase is he's a
great guest, but he sees all the movies he does
or they come out.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
Yeah, so he can give us like.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
The give you a preview.
Speaker 6 (01:41):
Wow.
Speaker 5 (01:41):
Yeah, so Mark standing by in a few minutes once
we play the match game. And then don't forget nine ten,
we have a LESSI Karen Reid's attorney on nine ten
this morning.
Speaker 6 (01:49):
Did you hear that somebody made this gorgeous picture a
portrait of Karen Reid. Yeah, now they're going to take
it down to the state police and a.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
Range a little Karen Reid joke. Let's go to Angela
in the beautiful town of Newburyport on the Mighty Merrimac. Karen,
Good morning, Karen, Angela, Angela, Good morning, Karen, k Angela. Hi,
(02:24):

Donna and it is looking fabulous in front of the
Mega Match game board. She's ready to go. She's got
her game show Mike. All we need from you is
your first pick. Make it good?
Speaker 7 (02:39):
Can I get twenty six?
Speaker 8 (02:40):
Please?
Speaker 1 (02:41):
Okay, yes you can.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
Night at Encore Resort and Casino.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
Oh and that was revealed. It was a week or
so ago. So Angela, what's your next pick? Next pick?
What happens?
Speaker 8 (02:55):
Go? Please?
Speaker 1 (02:56):
She knows what it does. There we go, There we go, Angela.
Ladies and gentlemen, a signal open a high class show tonight,
but dancing morning later.
Speaker 9 (03:08):
Never mind it.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
I love that clothes.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
Yeah, they're gonna have dancing Angela. Andre can't wait.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
That is such a fun night.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
Yeah, oh yeah, it really is especial. If you hit
out of nowhere, and so then you'll double down because
you just want encore and who knows, maybe you'll hit
at the slide things possible. Put it all on black.
Put it all on black. By the way, quickly, how
are things up there in newbury Port?
Speaker 8 (03:38):
Angela looking good?
Speaker 10 (03:40):
Let's take a beautiful.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
Day to day, beautiful day on the mighty Merrimac angel
Hold on, you got to talk to producer Riley. Okay,
but congratulations, and I hope you went to the casino too,
Thank you very much.
Speaker 5 (03:53):
Looking at the list here, of the prizes that are left,
the two of the biggest ones are still on the
thousand dollars and the Year of Movies some Showcase cinemas,
so twelve ten will play again. But speaking of Showcase,
we have marked the movie nerds standing by. He's seen
Jurassic World and all the biggest movies that are coming up.
He's gonna check in about.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
That next Okay, So if one has been crushing it
at the box office this week, the Jurassic movie arrives today,
I say we check in with the movie nerd at Showcase.
Speaker 8 (04:27):
That song the.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
Mark the movie Nerd. Good morning, Good morning, guys, how
are you. We're doing fine right at the top. Mark,
we gotta tell you we've been playing the Mega match
game and one of the biggest prizes is Showcase Movies
for a year.
Speaker 8 (04:48):
How's that for a deal, oh Man, Showcase subscribe? Is
that what it is? You're given away?
Speaker 3 (04:54):
We're giving it all away.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
Yeah, give it away the whole store.
Speaker 8 (05:00):
It's like, you know what, it's a good it's a
good year for this, you know, like and Billy, you
just you lead with it. It's like F one again,
so good. Everyone's talking about it and uh, you know,
you got to see it on the biggest screen, Brad Pitt.
And then it's directed by Joseph Kazinski who did Top
Gun Maverick a few years ago.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
Lisa was in the theater for it.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
I was a legacy placed on Saturday night, and you're right.
Speaker 4 (05:27):
I was so glad I saw it in the theater
because the sound of the cars, the soundtrack, you have
to see it with your sound system.
Speaker 8 (05:37):
And the and the rumbling and you feel like you're there.
I mean, yeah, it's incredible. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's going
to do great this weekend. But then yeah, Bill, you said,
Jurassic that's that opens today and Uh yeah, I mean
the word on this one is it's like the original movies.
You know, it's got that terror, you know, and suspense
(05:58):
in it. And uh, Scarlett Johansson has wanted to be
in a Jurassic World movie or Park movie for a
very long time, so now she has her chance. So yeah,
she stars in it with Jonathan Bailey from Wicked. And yeah,
we're expecting about one hundred and twenty five to one
hundred and thirty million over the five days.
Speaker 4 (06:19):
So Mark is this so the last Jurassic World with
Chris Pratt. This is takes place when like five years later.
Speaker 8 (06:29):
Exactly, and it's it's sort of a reboot in the
way they go back to the original location and they
find sort of a mutated version of the dinosaurs and
they're not as nice or you know, they're really not cuddly.
And I think there's a lot of that sort of
original suspense from the first movie. And then the thing
(06:50):
about this movie is there's a lot you know, we
talked about these popcorn vessels and things can take We've
got a t rex head with the popcorn in it.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
Oh, now we're.
Speaker 8 (07:02):
You gotta get that.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
Gets ahead of a t rex filled with popcorn. They're
not gonna last.
Speaker 8 (07:10):
They're not gonna last.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
No, no, Mark, I haven't been to the movies in
a while. You have that technology where in certain scenes,
the actual chairs you're sitting and start rumbling and vibrating
and stuff.
Speaker 8 (07:23):
Yeah it's four D X and yeah you can. You
can do that at our our location in Randolph and
it literally moves the seats and follows the action and
you feel like and you so you want to see
a movie like f One or Jurassic in that if
you like it. But I mean, it is a lot
of moving, So just be aware, hold on to your
(07:44):
your drinks from your popcorn.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
You know, it's weird. I was kidding about that question.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
They thought of everything.
Speaker 8 (07:55):
As a matter of fact. It even does like miss
if you're in if it's in a scene, you feel
the mist or rain. It doesn't rain, but you know,
you feel you feel the effects as much as you
can in the lighting. It's amazing to you know. I mean,
it's an experience. It's not exactly for everyone, but I
mean it's for people who want to be really truly
(08:15):
immersed you know, in the in the action, in the
scene that's on the screen.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
So to be clear, Mark, if I go to showcase
certain ones, I'll have a vibrating chair, I'll have a
mist in the air, and what else happens? Oh and
I get my popcorn in a t rex's head.
Speaker 8 (08:36):
Exactly, So do that, yeah, Randolph, that that that's where
where you can get that. And then just just just
what's upcoming? I mean, I think and then I was thinking,
what's the Billy's gonna ask me? What's the movie of
the summer?
Speaker 1 (08:50):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (08:50):
So should I just just say it?
Speaker 1 (08:52):
I think the movie of.
Speaker 8 (08:53):
The summer is going to be Superman. Superman opens on
seven eleven. James Gunn is erecting this one, and it's
going to be a new take on you know, it's
supposed to be comic book accurate, uh in the lighter
version of Superman. Cryptos in it, the dog in it,
(09:13):
and it's got a whole new cast. You know, it's
got a new Superman, David corn Sweat and a Superman
and Clark Kent and then Rachel bras Inahan for Missus
masl Is Lois Lane. So this is supposed to be
sort of a fun, lighter version of Superman. So and
and I can't say too much, because everyone who's seen
(09:35):
it on my team has signed an NDA.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
Okay, but.
Speaker 8 (09:42):
People are are you know, people are saying they're going
to line up to see this one.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
Now you mentioned James Gunn. Is he Tim Gunn's brother
by any chance?
Speaker 8 (09:50):
I don't know. I don't know. No, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
I don't think James.
Speaker 8 (09:58):
But you know, James got you know who I know.
He directed the Guardian of the Galaxy movie. Oh yeah, yeah, so,
and he's now heading up d C from Warner Brothers.
Speaker 1 (10:08):
You know, he's co leading it.
Speaker 8 (10:10):
So they're kind of re envisioning DC and the movies
that are going to be coming out from it. And
this is sort of the first big step, you know
for Warner Brothers.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
Well, we got Superman Red Sox yesterday.
Speaker 8 (10:23):
Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 1 (10:24):
It's everywhere. It's gonna be everywhere.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
Yeah, it's gonna be.
Speaker 8 (10:28):
I think it's gonna be the big one. And then
I think the sleeper of the summer. This is in August,
August eighth, and you may have heard about this. This
is this two trailers that have dropped. It's a movie
called Weapons, and Julia Gardner's in it. Josh Berlin and
it's a horror movie and it's it's really creepy. It's, uh,
what takes place when seventeen kids disappear and they're all
(10:52):
from the same classroom and Julia Gardner's character is the
teacher and at night they disappear and then they come
back not quite the same. It's it's it's going to
be uh.
Speaker 1 (11:06):
It's so uh.
Speaker 8 (11:07):
There's a lot of buzz around this, and Warner Brothers
was going to release it next year, but they've pulled
it and brought it up to August eighth.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
Okay, so to recap quickly, we got to F one
already in theaters. Jurassic Park arrives today. We've got Superman
on the way and weapons on the way. Yeah, and
we got a run Mark. We got our next guest
is coming in. Please welcome, very lovely, my friend Tim Gunn.
Speaker 3 (11:32):
This is where we're back with Billy and Lisa in
the morning.
Speaker 4 (11:35):
Oh cool, kiss really Now the entertainment updates with the
Villy concept.
Speaker 1 (11:41):
Okay, so the Mega Match Game. We had two winners
this morning, least sevent ten and a ten. And you
know what we're going to do the Mega Match Game
at twelve ten three ten and four, ten, three times
this afternoon. So keep that in mind and be ready
to play. Do your homework, be prepared. Want to get
rid of all these pride in time for the holiday weekend.
(12:03):
In case you missed it this past couple of days,
apparently it's been confirmed now that Karen read there will
be a book and a movie, and on that project,
she's partnering with her lawyer Alan Jackson. But her lawyer,
Robert Alessi is in New York and he's calling in
to this show right after nine o'clock this morning.
Speaker 3 (12:21):
You know that they call him AJ in their little circle.
Oh yeah, I watched a little interview with him.
Speaker 6 (12:29):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (12:29):
And I guess he's already got a new client.
Speaker 8 (12:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (12:32):
I saw that he's defending a young man in Malibu
who allegedly killed four women in a trunk driving accident
for Pepperdine University students last year at the end of
twenty twenty three.
Speaker 1 (12:45):
Wow. Yeah, And I think Alessi's already working a new
project because he's back in his New York offices. You
know what, when we have him on at nine to
ten this morning, I want to ask him his thoughts
on the Diddy trial and what went down yesterday? The
jury came back. They had a verdict on four of
the five charges, but no verdict. Unable to reach a
(13:06):
verdict on the most important, the most serious charge of
racketeering and conspiracy.
Speaker 5 (13:10):
Well, I'd like to ask him what he thinks about
you know, how long the jerry had the case to
come up with the verdict on the four charges. Does
he think it's guilty because of how soon it was?
Speaker 1 (13:19):
It was very fast? Yeah, wo man, And what's going
on with that serious charge? I mean the other charges
still carry you know, substantial time.
Speaker 11 (13:28):
But if they're split on those and they're all in
conjunction on the four, which way are they swaying?
Speaker 1 (13:33):
I know, I can't. You don't know right on the
big one.
Speaker 4 (13:36):
Well, that's the question, like in his experience, what does
it usually sway when they come back?
Speaker 1 (13:40):
Quick find out at nine ten yep, ALESSI on the
Billy and at least the Morning Show. So squid Game
becomes the first Netflix series to debut at number one
in every country. It's season three of squid Game, and
we had marked the movie Nerd from Showcase on a
couple of minutes ago. Big weekend this weekend with the
(14:00):
Jurassic Park movie, and he told us the real winner
this summer, not Jurassic Park, is going to be Superman.
And we mentioned briefly, Yeah, we got a drop off yesterday.
We've all got Superman Red Sox jerseys. Very cool.
Speaker 5 (14:14):
Yeah, they said the jerseys and the little bobbleheads, the
Superman bibbleheads.
Speaker 12 (14:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (14:18):
I gave it to my son Abel. He has it
on his dresser. He loves it so and then Mark
also mentioned that movie Weapons. I did see the trailer
for this. The Julia Garner movie comes out. It's a
horror flick, but it looks really good.
Speaker 4 (14:29):
She's one of my most favorite actresses. She was in Ozark.
Oh yeah, she was also an inventing Anna and Josh
Brolin is.
Speaker 1 (14:37):
One of my favorite actors. I love him and everything,
and they're both in it. So we look forward to Weapons.
Keith Urban was talking to an Australian radio station this
week and the radio host made the mistake of asking
about his wife, Nicole Kidman having sex with the young
guys in movies.
Speaker 12 (14:56):
The first thing I thought of, with your beautiful wife,
Nicole Kidman being on so many great movies TV shows
all the time.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
I watched the movie with her and zac.
Speaker 12 (15:05):
Efron recently, Family Affair, And what does Keith Urban think
when he sees his beautiful wife with beautiful younger men
like zac Efron having these beautiful love.
Speaker 1 (15:18):
Scenes on TV and radio?
Speaker 10 (15:22):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (15:23):
Why has that happened? What's just happened to you? He's
disconnected from zoom?
Speaker 3 (15:27):
Did he just hang up on us?
Speaker 1 (15:28):
I think his team hang up on us because they
didn't want us to ask that question. I love that
he hung up. Yeah, he should have just told them
like how he really felt.
Speaker 3 (15:38):
Would you please calmly yourself and leave me alone? I
love I love to read that.
Speaker 4 (15:47):
I have to say, if that was on the list
of questions, like sometimes pr people will say these list
of questions that you cannot ask, so that would be
the only reason why they would hang up.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
But again, I didn't think it was a bad question.
I didn't.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
I feel like it. When you're a professional, you know,
that's that's what you do.
Speaker 4 (16:02):
Come up with an answer there, right, just be like,
oh it doesn't bother me, or she's or hey how
about she's a professional?
Speaker 9 (16:08):
Right?
Speaker 4 (16:09):
Right?
Speaker 1 (16:09):
Do you think I love the movie The Delivery?
Speaker 13 (16:11):
Right?
Speaker 1 (16:12):
Do you think it was the delivery of him?
Speaker 11 (16:13):
Because if you ask the question the right way, you
can ask anybody anything.
Speaker 1 (16:16):
It's all about how you ask right.
Speaker 4 (16:18):
But again, if it was on a list of questions
that he wasn't allowed to ask and they did then.
Speaker 1 (16:22):
And a lot of times the host will ask the
question just to get attention.
Speaker 5 (16:26):
Right, ideal, We deal with this all the time. I'm
just saying, like them, yeah, yeah, ask non asking questions.
Speaker 1 (16:35):
It's like, come on.
Speaker 11 (16:36):
But the issue is when they tell us not to
ask something you want to ask. It more like if
they didn't come with the list, we might not even get.
Speaker 3 (16:41):
To that question exactly. But again, didn't think it was
a bad question they tell me not to ask.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
It's always the first question.
Speaker 3 (16:47):
That's what we want to know.
Speaker 4 (16:49):
If you have a spouse that's in love scenes all
the time, as people going to the movies, that's all
I want to know is like, how does your spouse think?
Speaker 11 (16:56):
Especially her recently, she'd been in so many love scenes right,
graphic one.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
And baby scenes were insane.
Speaker 3 (17:03):
She was naked in a lot of oh yeah, well
they are.
Speaker 1 (17:08):
Most of the men are mostly like literally like thirty yep,
you know.
Speaker 5 (17:11):
Yeah, I don't want to spend a ton of time
on this, but we have to revisit very quickly. Do
Alipa twenty eighteen Kiss concert. Her people came out to me.
Her manager and everybody said, listen, she's coming out, asked Billy,
can do not ask about her boots? And so then
I went to Billy and I said, you can't ask
about the boots, and he goes, what's wrong with her boots?
I said, I don't know, you can't ask. So Hare
comes do Alipa on stage. Billy greets her and she's
(17:33):
wearing boots that go up to her mid thigh.
Speaker 1 (17:36):
Before we do anything, can you just step to your
left a little bit. You cannot wear boots like that
and not have the world see.
Speaker 3 (17:42):
Oh, that's very kind they are.
Speaker 5 (17:44):
It was at that moment her manager was looking at
me and he was giving the cut your throat, yeah,
like signal to me.
Speaker 1 (17:51):
Well, I did it to piss off the manager. Why
don't you stay out of it? Yeah, it's too much
because here's my thing. Okay, if you're the artist and
you don't want to answer, just respectfully say you know what,
I'd really rather not go there.
Speaker 4 (18:04):
It's you know why she didn't want to talk about
the boots is because she paid for the boots.
Speaker 1 (18:08):
Yeah, she wasn't. They weren't given to her for free.
They were very nice.
Speaker 4 (18:11):
Boots were they were salarn And I said when I
walked in, I said, you need to ask her about
the boots.
Speaker 1 (18:17):
Lisa pushed me. Yeah, no, you got to ask her
about the boots because I want them.
Speaker 3 (18:21):
Well, that was her whole outfit. I mean, she looked amazing,
she did.
Speaker 1 (18:24):
Yeah bts confirming yesterday, Yep, there's an album on the way.
In fact, they're going to be here in the US
starting next month working on the album and they're going
to be launching a world tour as well. How about this.
Jelly Roll in the Rock have been friends for more
than ten years, but they have never met until this week.
They met and they hugged it out. I've been waiting
(18:46):
a decade for this. I haven't waited come here.
Speaker 13 (18:56):
Jelly Roll and I have been buddies for almost ten years, texting,
Sean loves support, always there for each other. Whatever you need,
I got you. We've never met, so yesterday at American
Idol was the first time we ever met, and it
was very special.
Speaker 1 (19:11):
And I guess things are moving fast for Kylie Jenner
and Timothy Chala.
Speaker 3 (19:17):
Yeah, she followed him on Instagram. That's a big deal.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
And it didn't follow her back yet though. Oh yeah, god,
how is that not your lead story?
Speaker 6 (19:25):
Bro?
Speaker 4 (19:25):
I know.
Speaker 1 (19:30):
Benson Boone is back with a cookie for Crumble. You'll
have to make a move. They're only in effect until
July fifth. It's the Moonbeam ice cream cookie. And I
guess no other celebrity cookie has made it back for
a second round. Yeah.
Speaker 11 (19:45):
I was surprised it was back because they just did
it like two weeks ago and they only do him
for a week. Like the Karashians had a collab a
few months ago and they didn't make a round back.
Speaker 1 (19:53):
So it was interesting. Has anybody tried it? Oh? We
Janna and McCabe did so. I don't know how they
liked it. Okay, I'm sure they liked it. Hey is
mikey v in Paris? He is, He's on the big
European This is their honeymoon. Yep, oh, this is the honeymoons.
Speaker 4 (20:11):
Remember he was saying you weren't here going in for
you the day you're out on Nantucket.
Speaker 3 (20:16):
Yeah, this is a big trip for them.
Speaker 11 (20:17):
Yeah, they're going to Greece too.
Speaker 1 (20:19):
I think, yeah, your happy place.
Speaker 3 (20:22):
Paris is the best place on Earth.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
Ladies go to Paris every year in September. We're gonna
have fireworks over Boston Harbor tonight. It's part of Harbor
Fest and these are big fireworks every year that precede
the Fourth of July. So you might want to check
that out. And by the way, a lot of places
in and around the harbor you go to watch, they
have decks over the harbor or patio seating over the harbor.
(20:45):
Just kind of my heads up, and I think the
fireworks go off at nine o'clock tonight. May be watching.
Will you be watching this or you'll be going, will
be in bed? Will you be watching from the boat?
I can't be near the fireworks because Titus freaks out.
We'd have to leave the harbor.
Speaker 8 (21:01):
Oh go home.
Speaker 1 (21:02):
Oh can I go watch them from your boat? No,
you can't. They'll have you arrested there an empty boat,
private proper what I wouldn't get and then you have
arrested just for affecting. For the show to be able
to say yeah, when he was hauled.
Speaker 3 (21:19):
In trust passing.
Speaker 1 (21:23):
Trust passing at Charlestown, Marina. Yeah, at least please, what
do you say, lock her up?
Speaker 11 (21:30):
He would he would have me rested them, bail me
out after just to prove a point.
Speaker 1 (21:33):
Yeah, no, just to have a bit for the show.
Lock her up, lock it in, locker up. Okay, We're

Speaker 3 (21:58):
If you want to stop me, get me from the
fitness Kiss one eight studio. So I'm back with a
Villy and Lisa in the morning.
Speaker 1 (22:06):
Kiss Hey, guys, welcome back. Let's face it, hands down.
The Karen Reid trial dominated in New England over the
past couple of years. The story went national and in
casium is It. Robert Alessi was one of Karen Reid's
lawyers and this was one of the highlights from the courtroom.
Speaker 10 (22:27):
This is a third example of a document that incorrectly
states if you have a Bachelor of Science when you
do not, because that's that degree.
Speaker 1 (22:35):
Correct, it has errors or outdated information?
Speaker 8 (22:38):
Correct?
Speaker 1 (22:40):
Well, when you say outdated, how is it that you
can call a date outdated next to something that you
don't possess. I don't understand your question.
Speaker 3 (22:49):
Will you just use the phrase either incorrect or outdated?
Speaker 1 (22:53):
I'm trying to understand your statement that it's so dated.
Speaker 3 (22:58):
Isn't it either you have a bachelor science degree or
you don't.
Speaker 1 (23:03):
I have represented I do not have a bachelor's degree.
Speaker 5 (23:05):
At least we've got to tell Attorney A. Lessi that
Billy's been impersonating him all morning. Once he wants to
be he can't stop.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
Well, we've got the counselor on the phone from New York.
Good morning, Counselor, Alessi.
Speaker 10 (23:20):
Good morning, Billy, and it's great to be on the
Billy and Lisa Morning Show.
Speaker 1 (23:26):
Now that clip we just played from the courtroom, counselor,
did that bring back memories? And did you know you
hit kind of a home run there?
Speaker 10 (23:35):
The answer is yes, it brought back memories. And I
usually leave it to others as to whether I've hit
a home run or not, but I at a minimum
felt that I effectively had entered into the deep impeachment
and ultimate destruction of mister Burgess as one of the
(23:56):
key witnesses for the prosecution.
Speaker 1 (23:59):
Boy said, just like the lawyer.
Speaker 10 (24:02):
That happens every once in a while when I talk.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
Yeah, So is it okay if I call you Robert?
That's fine, okay. So I was in Gloucester last weekend
for the Greasy Pole and there was a packed bar
on Friday night, and I'm standing there and I looked
down the other end of the bar and I could
have there was such a crowd I could have sworn
(24:27):
ed Shearon was in the room. And I looked on
and people kept coming to me, you know, Robert Orlesslie,
Karen Reid's lawyers down the other the end of the bar.
It was like you were ed, Shearon. They were all
over you. That must have felt good.
Speaker 2 (24:41):
It did.
Speaker 10 (24:42):
As you know, the people of Gloucester in the Greater
kpe A and area are just fantastic people. They're very engaging,
and it did feel great. A lot of the conversation
was did you know that Billy Costa is also here
in the.
Speaker 8 (24:58):
Bar to night?
Speaker 10 (25:00):
So your name was mentioned more than once and was
the topic of conversation, and I was delighted when we
had an opportunity to talk there. So yes, it was
fun all around.
Speaker 1 (25:12):
Do you have a place in Gloucester or that area
or were you visiting?
Speaker 10 (25:18):
We have a place. I used to say where it is,
and now I say we have a place in the
Cape Ann area.
Speaker 1 (25:28):
Oh man. You know when I announced and I posted
it on Instagram that you were going to be on
the show, I got so many dms, I got so
many phone calls, and I got to ask you the
Diddy trial there was a big development. I mean, it's
the big trial now with the Karen Reid was found
not guilty. Were you surprised and what does that mean
(25:48):
in your legal mind when they come back with four
of the charges of the verdict.
Speaker 10 (25:54):
Well, in New York they do things differently than Massachusetts.
And what it means to me is, you know, it's
the whole general topic of partial verdict and that was
a very, very big issue, the fact that there was
not one declared in Karen Reid's first trial. So you know,
there's a lot of ways to answer the question. The
(26:16):
shortest way to answer it is, in my view, in
the Diddy trial, the jury is having great difficulty with
the top line charge, which is the Rico racketeering charge,
and more to come on that. But I think that
in a minimum that's going to be a very complicated result,
(26:38):
and an uneven result is my prediction. That's what it
means to me.
Speaker 1 (26:42):
So if you had to guess when they came back
so soon on four of the five charges, would you
guess one way or another, guilty or innocent?
Speaker 10 (26:53):
I don't you know. I could give a guess. It
would be an uninformed guess.
Speaker 1 (26:59):
You know.
Speaker 10 (27:00):
I have great respect for our legal process, and to me,
it's always challenging to guess what they're going to do
in this regard. So to me, I'm going to be
I'll see what they ultimately say and then give my
views that someone wants to hear them about what it means.
But I don't have a guess at this point.
Speaker 4 (27:22):
At least you had a couple of questions for Robert Well,
the impact of having Proctor's texts allowed into the testimony
without actually having to call Proctor.
Speaker 3 (27:32):
How important was that?
Speaker 10 (27:34):
It was very important? And there was a lot of
behind the scenes jockeying about that, the prosecution trying to
force us to call former Trooper Proctor to the stand,
and we thought it in our client Ms. Reid's best
interest that he not be called and the text be read.
(27:55):
And when we achieve that result, and thanks to Dave Yanetti,
my co consul, who did an excellent job on the
of an injury issues on that, when we got the
judges ruling that the text could be read, we knew
that that was a very significant positive result for miss
read Well.
Speaker 1 (28:16):
Especially I mean once Procter was fired, I mean, you know,
it kind of shines a weird light on the.
Speaker 10 (28:22):
Case, right, Oh, it certainly does. And Billy, in addition
to shining a weird light, I think it really sent
the appropriate message to the jury that this was the
lead investigator. I thought it was a big mistake that
the prosecution never called the lead investigator and the fact
(28:46):
that he was, as you astutely point out, was fired.
If I'm a juror, that is a huge red flag
to me. And he was fired for his conduct on
this and read investigation, not some other case. So I
think all of that led to a very very significant
(29:08):
point for the jurors to consider in their deliberations.
Speaker 1 (29:12):
Now, were you and the rest of the legal team
Were you surprised by the following that this case picked
up not only locally, regionally, but nationally.
Speaker 10 (29:24):
I was not part of the first trial. I was
obviously a major part of the second trial. So when
I came in on the second trial, it was already
a huge following. I was not surprised, but I was
surprised at the degree to which it had a following.
And there's a variety of theories as to why that occurred.
(29:46):
But I was certainly surprised, and I will add heartened
with the following because people took a significant issue, significant
interest in the any concerning issues. A lot of what
happened to miss Read could happen to anybody, and so
(30:07):
in that regard, I was not surprised overall, but the
depth and the extent and the breadth of it, this
was worldwide, millions of people watching it worldwide. That surprised
me that it went that far internationally.
Speaker 1 (30:24):
Now, a story broke this week that Karen and Alan
Jackson are partnering on a book and a movie deal.
Are you part of that?
Speaker 10 (30:35):
I am not able to comment on that topic. I'm
just not able to do that. With all apologies to
you and your listeners. It's a topic that I can't
comment on.
Speaker 1 (30:47):
You know you were listening the other night when you
and I were hanging out. I said, if there's something
that's uncomfortable to say, I can't go there.
Speaker 10 (30:56):
Yes, you were very gracious about that, and that's an area.
Speaker 3 (30:59):
Yeah, did you want to have play you in a
movie or a TV series?
Speaker 10 (31:05):
Billy Costa?
Speaker 5 (31:08):
I love that We have some questions here from an
audience Attorney Alessi.
Speaker 14 (31:13):
Hi, this is for attorney Alessie. First of all, love
your team, love listening to your interviews. Just want to
know if you think it's going to be a game
changer in the civil case when they allow the evidence
that wasn't allowed in the criminal case to come out.
Speaker 7 (31:31):
Just wondering your.
Speaker 1 (31:33):
Opinion, counselor your answer.
Speaker 10 (31:36):
Well, the short answer is the civil case has different standards,
different approaches, and what evidence a different judge, and I
suspect it's going to be a different judge will allow
is to be determined. My hope is that in the
civil case that there is more evidence that's to come in.
(32:01):
It's also a different standard of proof, so there's a
lot of different factors. But I'm hopeful that there will
be more information that comes in in that trial, and
whether or not that information becomes a game changer remains
to be seen. But I'm hopeful for that case to
the extent it does end up going to a trial,
(32:23):
I'm hopeful that it does come in and become a
game changer.
Speaker 1 (32:26):
Justin yen know the talk that question. Well, we have
so many questions coming in. We'll do one more.
Speaker 6 (32:30):
Good morning.
Speaker 15 (32:31):
I'm wondering if we could get an explanation as to
everything that went on with Brian Higgins legally, like what
did he what happened with him in the FBI, Why
did he have.
Speaker 7 (32:43):
A lawyer present for the first trial?
Speaker 6 (32:45):
Thank you so much?
Speaker 1 (32:47):
Okay, counselor, I think you know, I know where you're
going to go with this one, but go ahead.
Speaker 10 (32:51):
Yeah, the whole issue surrounding Brian Higgins remains a bit
of a mystery. His conduct is not a mystery. We
put forth a lot more information in this trial, including
the videos of his conduct at the bar. Only he
(33:12):
knows why he wanted to have a lawyer present. Well,
he was testified in trial one, as we know, he
did not testify in trial to the prosecution. Also did
not call him, and we took a great advantage of
that during the trial. So there's going to be a
little bit more mystery that remains of Brian Higgins. But
(33:34):
if there are further proceedings in court proceedings and trial,
that will be for the attorneys in that matter to decide.
But right now, he's going to remain a bit of
a mystery. But I think we demysticized him even more
in the second trial, and I would like to believe
to a positive effect with the jury.
Speaker 1 (33:55):
Robert, I know you're in New York. Are you already
working another case?
Speaker 10 (33:59):
Oh? Yes, yeah, I've got several cases, some of which
I put on hold for this, But i have a
very active caseload and great clients and great matters and
I'm already reimmersed in those and I've had several phone
calls for new matters. So I'm back in full swing
in New York.
Speaker 1 (34:19):
Well, Robert, hopefully you and I can hang out again
in the Cape Ann region of Massachusetts.
Speaker 10 (34:27):
That would be delightful. I enjoyed our time together and
it would be great if we could do that again.
I hope to get up there this summer again.
Speaker 1 (34:37):

Lisa Morning Show. Thank you for taking time out. I

a rural area. It's wonderful. Everybody should try it.
Speaker 5 (35:30):
So always Behind. She listened to the podcast and heard
you talking about the Merlin app yesterday.
Speaker 1 (35:34):
The Bird app.
Speaker 3 (35:35):
It's the best. I'm like a bird Nerd. Seriously, that's cute.
Speaker 4 (35:39):
Right now, you can sit in your backyard and you
just it listens to your wherever you're sitting, and then
it tells you what birds are in your sort of environment.
It's amazing specific time, and I'm telling you, it's like
really fun.
Speaker 1 (35:51):
Yeah. Didn't you have a can of the goose? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (35:53):

was so cool.
Speaker 5 (35:57):

but it's absolutely gorgeous and Billy and Lisa, I know
you guys have been here thinking of you.
Speaker 4 (36:28):
Chow wow. Yeah, Chow is right. That is the most
beautiful place on earth. You're just awash in color. Yeah, yeah,

Speaker 1 (36:50):
I'm so happy takes us there for a couple of minutes.
It does, especially in the winter, and.
Speaker 4 (36:54):
The fact that they're so bad in the winter though,
but the fact that they're listening to us are thinking
about it so cool.
Speaker 5 (37:03):
It's free to do. We appreciate everybody. We're one big,
happy family. You can check out check in about anything
if you're on vacation or just you know, waking up
in your house.
Speaker 17 (37:11):
So I slept through all of that thunder and lightning
last night. Don't know how I did it, but I
literally had the best dream of my life. I was
like dating slash hooking up a Channing Tatum, so clearly
I was gonna marry him. At the end of the dream,
my alarm clock wakes me up to ruin that, and
then I get out of bed and I step down
(37:31):
barefoot onto a dead mouse.
Speaker 6 (37:34):
My cat brought me.
Speaker 1 (37:35):
Oh happy, Oh.
Speaker 3 (37:40):
Kids, it's the morning. Wrap up on Billy and Lisa
in the morning.
Speaker 1 (37:44):
Hey, justin if you don't mind before you wrap things up,
we just played ordinary and you were telling me a
story this morning that it sounds like a big choir
when they're singing in the song, and it's just a
couple of his buddies.
Speaker 5 (37:55):
Yeah, that's actually just got revealed to us by Alex
Wahren himself. It does sound like he has a choir
with him, but it's really not. It's him and his
three friends in a room.
Speaker 18 (38:04):
It's quite literally just me and a group of my
friends shouting in like a corner going the ordinary. We
just do all the different harms and stuff for it,
and it's really cool the product that comes out of it,
taking you.
Speaker 1 (38:18):
Inside the music, taking you behind the music.
Speaker 5 (38:21):
Yeah, you can hear more, by the way this weekend

Speaker 1 (38:44):

Speaker 5 (38:49):
Ala, Yeah, congratulations. And then Jill also got the five
hundred dollars to Legal Seafood.

Speaker 3 (38:57):
It was just there last night World chowdered chill.
Speaker 1 (39:01):
Where are you going?
Speaker 6 (39:01):

Speaker 7 (39:01):
Number all right?
Speaker 10 (39:03):
Number two yo?
Speaker 3 (39:06):
You won five hundred bucks to legal see fit with
my child wod.
Speaker 5 (39:13):
Our topic time this morning at seven forty. We do
that every single morning. We have a brand new topic
every day which you can be included on. Today's was
about Nelly because he says that he does not change
his baby's diaper with him and Ashanti, what do we
think about that morning?
Speaker 1 (39:27):
Everyone?
Speaker 3 (39:28):
I need to say dads absolutely should be changing their
baby's diaper. I work at a childcare center.
Speaker 11 (39:35):
The amount of dads I hear, you know, use the
term like, oh, I was babysitting the kids all week.
Speaker 3 (39:40):
No, you're not babysitting. Those are your kids.
Speaker 7 (39:42):
You need to step up and be his dad, and yeah,
change the poopy diaper. Don't leave it all up to mom.
Speaker 8 (39:49):
She's gone through enough.
Speaker 5 (39:50):
I made that mistake, you know when when my son
Abel was born, he was a little baby, I said
to somebody I had the babysit and I got.
Speaker 1 (39:57):
Scolded, Yeah, it's your kid too, Yeah, that's my kids.
There's no such thing as a babysitting.
Speaker 3 (40:02):
Not really, you're bothering. Yeah, spending time with your kids.
Speaker 1 (40:06):
Exactly.
Speaker 19 (40:07):
When my son was two years old, my dad said
he would watch him so my mom and I could
run to the store. And when we came back, my
son was sitting on the opposite side of the living
room in a little toddler chair. And we came in
and said, why is Sean over there? And he said,
because he stinks.
Speaker 1 (40:31):
Change your kids diaper man. What are you doing? Yeah,
just saying.
Speaker 5 (40:34):
Also this morning, there was a little bit of a
kind of debate as far as going to a restaurant
and bringing your own food because tonight it's my wife's birthday.
Congratulations to my wife. I love her so much, and
we're going out to dinner with all her friends and
family and me, and yeah, we're going away this weekend,
so I'm bringing my own food. Some people liked it,
some people did not like it.
Speaker 1 (40:52):
What are we going to say, hey, justin I think.
Speaker 9 (40:54):
It's great that you are taking this lifestyle and diet change,
So seriously, I think that you need to do what's
right for you. As long as you're not pushing on
other people, that's all that matters. So you know what's best.
You take care of yourself. You look great, You seem
like you have an amazing life now, So I think
everyone should just support you and be proud of you
(41:15):
and get off your back. You hear me, Witty, I
live to be.
Speaker 1 (41:19):
On his back, So no, I won't.
Speaker 5 (41:21):
Yeah, and least funny enough, Billy was one of the
biggest critics of me bringing my own food and not
eating the restaurant food.
Speaker 1 (41:30):
That's Bill Costa.
Speaker 8 (41:32):
This conversation about Justin not eating is cracking me up. Billy.
Speaker 9 (41:36):
For years you were the one that did not eat,
and everybody had to convince you to eat and enjoy life.
Speaker 8 (41:42):
And now you are doing the same to Justin.
Speaker 1 (41:45):
What do you have to say? I'm just saying, it's
your wife Jen's birthday. Happy birthday, Jenny. You're kind of
making it about you. No, I'm just sticking to the plan.
That's all.
Speaker 5 (41:55):
What we're going to celebrate this weekend. I'll have tons
of pizza Oldo at your beach least. What's the place
I have to go to?
Speaker 3 (42:00):
Phileas Pizza and then Lisa's Pizza right across the street.
Speaker 1 (42:02):
You have to try both. I'm gonna try both. Yeah,
I'm gonna take pictures. I'm gonna pictures. I'm gonna gorge.
I'm gonna eat until I basically throw up. Okay, all
for you guys, I'm.
Speaker 3 (42:12):
Just thank you while you're doing it. You don't have
to throw up.
Speaker 1 (42:16):
I'm not gonna but I'm gonna eat a lot. I'm
gonna enjoy yourself. I'll be with everybody up in Old
Oat Beach. Everyone's gonna be there, Antonio, bend Ben Dear.
And then we're back tomorrow morning with the final match
game rounds on the Billy and Lisa Morning Show. But
up next, Winny, who is it? McCay, he's back. Open
the door and let him in, for God's sake,
