Speaker 1 (00:00):
So we'll get those ready to go and rock and roll.
We'll have as much as we can. We'll get Cheo
as much as many of you get involved as we
can along the way. I'm gonna get in just a
second to some college football stuff that we touched on yesterday,
and I struck a nerve with Husky fans. And trust
me when I say this, I did not and I
know that you guys aren't gonna believe me. I get it,
I understand it. You guys, I get it. But there's like, oh,

(00:22):
he's just anti Husky. Know what my point was, and
I'll try to express it again here better in a moment.
Their path to the college football playoff is not as
easy as ten and two and a win over Oregon.
But I'll explain why in a second. There's there's some
things that I kind of the more I looked at it,
and I talked to Mandel and then talked to a
couple of the guys, and I just this is going

(00:45):
to be an interesting year because as it stands right now,
there's really only ten spots. There's a group of five,
group of six whatever the hell we're calling the non
Power five Power four conferences, now spot that has to
come in there. That's one, and the ACC champion we'll get.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
In as well.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
And right now there's nobody in the ACC in the
top twelve. But I'll explain a second. Let me quickly
get to the news from Marshawn Neelan. It was addressed
today by LaMarcus DeMarcus Lawrence at Seahawk Facility. There's some
more details coming out now regarding it. There might have
been a car chase and some sort of situation there.

(01:20):
But again police investigating as an apparent suicide. And while
details are still going to come out and we'll find
out more along the way. He just recovered a fumble
Monday Night football a couple of nights ago against Arizona.
It's another harsh reminder about the importance of taking care

(01:46):
of yourself mentally, and by no means do I need
to get up on a soapbox and tell you that.
But we live in a world now where there is
so much more available to people. There is so much
more or out there for folks to get help if
you need it. But we still have tragedies happen all

(02:07):
the time, with people taking their own lives and dying
by suicide, and I saw that today immediately thought of
my friends Kim and Markolinsky, who we do so much
work with with the golf tournament and the charity beer
with the Mayor IPA and the Mayor Golf Tournament Mayor
of Maple Valley Open. Because of what happened with Tyler
back in twenty eighteen, coming up on a seven year,

(02:29):
eight year anniversary of that unfortunate tragedy that took place
in Pullman if Neilan died after I don't want to
say a conflict with police, but there was some sort
of thing going on, a chase of some sort, it
sounds like now. The fact that he still took his
own life tells you that where he was was a
really dark and bad place. It also emphasized why we

(02:53):
do stuff with Lensky's Hope and others. So I just
it's those are the ones that just kind of rocky.
It remind you that life is short, life precious, life
is fragile, and just try to live the best you
can and if you do need help, find it, get it.
It's out there. It really truly is. And I just
I hate seeing that guy twenty four years old. Twenty
four years old. Okay, let me get to the college

(03:17):
football stuff just for a second. Washington is going to
take on Wisconsin this week picked him in a factor
of fiction yesterday Washington minus eleven and a half.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
Fact, let's go.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
But things usually take care of themselves in the college
football playoff, and I believe for Washington it is very
very likely that ten and two could get you into
the college football playoff, but you're gonna need help along
the way from some others. The schedules down the stretch

(03:52):
for the teams above them vary in degree of difficulty. Frankly,
Oregon maybe has as tough go as there is, and
they're ranked number nine right now. Notre Dame's going to
get in, which we'll get to them in a second.
This is why it's screwed up for Washington and other teams. Hell,
I'll put Utah in that conversation, who could finish ten

(04:14):
and two in just a second as well. But Notre
Dame's going to get in. But this is what's messed
up is when you look and you see a Notre
Dame team at seven and two or six and two now,
but they'll end up being ten and two more than
likely and they're ranked tenth. Miami's ranked eighteenth. They're six

(04:35):
and two as well, they're obviously five point spots ahead
of Washington. What's frustrating I think for so many we
could have four teams, twelve teams, sixteen teams, and at
some point someone's got to explain to us how winning
a game head to head doesn't matter. And that's the case.

(04:55):
And by no means I am by the ten to
one guy. I'm not Mark James, I'm not mister Mi Miami,
but I'll look at Notre Dame. Yeah, close losses, but
how does that not matter? How does that not matter?
How does that not come into play? How can I
Miami losing Louisville in SMU. I get that, I get that,

(05:21):
But Notre Dame lost to Miami and they have the
same record, they're five spots back. So what I meant
yesterday not to take a shot out way I said,
don't just think that going ten and two is gonna
get you in, because there's gonna more than likely be
a handful of teams at ten and two, and more
than likely at least one nine and three team from

(05:41):
the SEC that are all gonna be battling for those
final two or three spots. And when I say the
two or three spots, those are spots eight, nine, and
ten out of the twelve teams. That's what it's gonna be.
And then you're gonna throw a Utah in there. And
the Big twelve is getting a little of love right
now with BYU in Texas Tech. If you're a Washington fan,

(06:03):
believe it or not, you probably really want to root
for Oregon the next few weeks painful, one hundred percent
painful as hell, but you don't take on USC. So
you definitely want Oregon to beat USC. And you definitely
and you definitely want Oregon to beat Iowa. You don't

(06:25):
want to have to go into that Oregon game saying, well, man,
look at Iowa. They just have wins, they just beat
Oregon and they have the same record. You can't take
care of that yourself because you don't play them. And
USC and Iowa are both ahead of Washington right now.
You need Oregon to take care of business and hope,
like hell, the head to head matchup you knock off

(06:47):
Oregon and they end up going nine and three year
ten and two, and maybe you end up being that
third team from the Big ten in there, but by
no means it's ten and two a guarantee there should
be nervous And let me take a one step back.

Speaker 2 (07:01):
You guys know, I.

Speaker 1 (07:03):
Don't know if I brought this. I brought this off
a couple times. We played the audio a couple of
times as well. But I've said it. I think Washington's
better than Old Miss. But that won't matter. I think
there's no doubt Washington's better than Old Miss, at least
when I saw him, eyes on eyes. Head to head,
Washington's better than Old Miss. Ole Miss is sitting there

(07:24):
cruising around. They're all but in at number six. At
eight and one, they'd have to have a catastrophic But
I think Washington's better. I think Washington quarterbacks better, Washingtons
running backs better, the wide receiver. Maybe it push, but
because I think Williams is better.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
The channels, I think they're better.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
And you know what, Ole Miss has left like they
got a nothing burger left the Citadel fun Florida win,
Mississippi State win.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
They're in.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
So there's a subjective nature to it. Yes, head to
head early in the season doesn't matter. Head to head
late in the season, does matter, and losses late in
the season do matter. Losses early in the season don't
matter if your name's Notre Dame and you got that brand.
Because there's no possible they should not be ahead of Miami.
Really's as simple as that they should not be ahead

(08:14):
of Miami, but they are. And there's a couple other
examples that as well. But I got Washington winning Saturday,
fact four nine, four or five to one. Let's go
all right. Corbyn Smith is coming up next, so again
I'm not hating on him, just saying, don't just sit
there and go, oh yeah, they're in at ten and two.
You better sure as hell better have Oregon when their

(08:36):
next win those two tough games that they've got before
they see you. And I don't think Washington's gonna stumble
against the slappies.

Speaker 4 (08:44):
A have.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
Wisconsin's a win. Ucla is a win, Produe is a win.
But you want Oregon to win. It's painful. I know,
makes you feel dirty, I get it, but that's what
you want to have happened.

Speaker 5 (08:56):
It's time to take a deep dive into all things
Seahawks with Corbyn Smith, sports reporter for Emerald City Spectrum.
All Seattle Sports all the Time. Brought to you by
Jim Elliott with Wyndomere real Estate, helping home buyers and
home sellers in Western Washington.

dot com. Now with Gorbyn Smith. Here's Ian all.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
Right, Here we go Corbyn Smith are week? We visit
with our guy from emeral c Spectrum. I'm looking right
now on the website. We can get the film breakdown
how c X can unleash Rashid Shaheed and Clint Kubiak's
offense more there. Of course there's stuff on there about
the Kracking loss last night. We got in Mike Mason,
Marshmint struggles they are and trust me, they are struggles

(09:43):
right now. So I like that story so much. There,
go to emeral Cyspectrum dot com. I'll tell you how
to subscribe at the end. Hello Corbyn, how are you?

Speaker 2 (09:52):
Oops? Let's get Corby. We get Corbyn there, let's see
there we go? Corbin?

Speaker 6 (09:57):
You with me?

Speaker 1 (09:57):
Now?

Speaker 7 (09:58):
Yeah? I can you hear me?

Speaker 2 (09:59):
I got buddy?

Speaker 3 (10:00):
Here we go?

Speaker 2 (10:00):
How are you, buddy? How are things?

Speaker 8 (10:03):
I'm great, Thanks for having me as always.

Speaker 1 (10:05):
Let's get to it. Uh, won't even go bury the
lead or anything. Let's get to the trade deadline. Seattle
goes out and they pick up Rashid Shaheed for a
couple of draft picks. There are some that have some
consternation or that some think it's a great deal. Cooper
Cup doesn't appear to be going on the injured list,
so that part of the equations out to out of

(10:25):
the pitcher, you, what's your reaction?

Speaker 2 (10:28):
You, what's your thoughts on the trade?

Speaker 8 (10:31):
Interestingly, Ian, this is a name that Rob rang and
I had both floated about two weeks ago, and we
were looking at trade deadline possibilities because it did seem
like this was a receiving court.

Speaker 7 (10:43):
As great as the passing game has been.

Speaker 8 (10:45):
Jackson the jigbas got almost a thousand receiving yards. There
isn't another receiver in the team with more than two
hundred and ninety three. It just felt like on a
team that doesn't really have many glaring holes, if any,
it felt like, if they're gonna make a movie of
the deadline, it just might be a case, what's the
best deal we can get to get a good football
player that can just make us even better at a spot.

(11:08):
And Shied is a guy who has been extremely effective
with poor quarterback play this year. He's on pace for
over one thousand receiving yards this season with the Saints,
and we know who's been playing to be there. I mean,
he has not had good quarterback play with the one
in eight Saints, so he's going to be coming into
a much better situation with Sam Donald throwing the football

(11:29):
to him. One of the elite deep ball throwers, this
is one of the elite downfield vertical threats in the NFL.
In Quick Kubiek's offense last season, he was averaging almost
eighteen yards a catch when he suffered at torn meniscus
in Week six. He was just torching opposing defenses.

Speaker 7 (11:48):
And he probably should have had four or five touchdowns
at forty plus yards.

Speaker 8 (11:51):
Derek Carr missed badly on a couple of wide open opportunities,
he still had three long touchdown catches. Though he can
get involved in the run game with jet sweeps and
a rounds. He even had a toss sweep as a
running back out of the backfield last year in Kubek's offense.

Speaker 7 (12:07):
So this is a guy.

Speaker 8 (12:08):
That not only in special teams, can be a dynamic
playmaker on offense.

Speaker 7 (12:12):
He is that.

Speaker 8 (12:13):
Gadget piece that you can move all over the formation
and he forces the opposing defense to know where he's
at at all times. And when you have Jackson Smith
and Jagoba already in the field and Cory Horton already
on the field, the tight end Seattle's got it starts
to become an issue of Okay, I can't pay one
hundred percent attention like this to every single guy.

Speaker 7 (12:33):
You got to start picking your poison.

Speaker 1 (12:35):
Well, let me go. I'm gonna come back to the
receiving part of it in a second. If I could, Corbyn,
let me let me I think this is a part
of it that's that's maybe underrated. Let's talk about the
return game, because if Tory Horton is going to be
as involved as he was last week, especially if Cups
banged out up and now you get Rashid shahedin here too,

(12:57):
which you know, we'll see who's you know, truly one
two and we know who number one is, who two
and three are. But how important you think he is
he to the special teams?

Speaker 8 (13:06):
Well, I expect he's gonna jump right in on kick return.
And we're talking about a guy that's got a first
team All Pro selection to his name that was as
a punt returner. But he has really good kick return
numbers to No by the way, FCS all time Division
one FCS leader with seven kick returns for touchdowns at
Weaver State. So the guy's got a track record of

(13:28):
being absolutely dynamic on kick returns.

Speaker 7 (13:32):
He's got decent numbers in that regard. This year.

Speaker 8 (13:35):
Drake Young is probably the most significant injury of the
three receivers Hel's got. We'll see if he ends up
going on IR if they just weight this process out
right now. But he was actually leading the NFL in
yards per turn on kickoffs before his injuries. So you're
going to slide Shaheed right in there, and he's going
to be taken over alongside George Hallatti. Those are gonna

(13:55):
be your two returners on kickoff now moving forward. So
he's going to play a role in that regard. He's
going to be your backup behind the Wharton on punt
return and then, obviously, as I said, all the different
things that he could do on the offensive side of
the ball in a system.

Speaker 7 (14:08):
That he ought to be able.

Speaker 8 (14:09):
I'm sure he crawled out of bed after his flight,
probably crawled out of bed. On Wednesday, he was like, oh,
I remember most of this from last year in terms
of verbage. You just don't see that very much of
the trade deadline.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
Yeah, I mean to give a skill guy that you know,
normally got to learn an entire what new playbook and
verbage and all those types of things, He's probably going
to be able to slide right in there, I would assume.

Speaker 8 (14:28):
On Sunday, Oh absolutely, And like he was saying yesterday, well,
there's a few things I'm gonna have to just kind
of basically got to jog my memory a little bit.
But he he is going to know this offense inside
and out. I mean, you just remember last year Ernest Jones
talking about the crash course he had to go through
on defense, playing like four days after he was acquired
from the Titans, and it took him a few games

(14:49):
to get his feet underneath him.

Speaker 7 (14:50):
You shouldn't have that issue at all. For Shahe.

Speaker 8 (14:52):
It shed to feel like, oh wait, it's the beginning
of the twenty twenty four season again, I'm just wearing
a different uniform and.

Speaker 7 (14:57):
Kubiak's gonna got to use him.

Speaker 8 (14:59):
Sam Da I think is going to know quickly how
to be able to get the football twin because of
his skills of the fact that he does know this offense.
That is really going to help get those guys up
to speed together much faster, because.

Speaker 7 (15:10):
If it was a new offense, you got to go
through all that.

Speaker 8 (15:12):
But since they're already going to have that verbiage down,
it should make it that much easier just to build
that connection with his new.

Speaker 1 (15:19):
Target, Corbin Smith joining a Central City spectrum. All right,
how do you see the rotation working? Because this is
a team, if I'm not mistaken, very low volume of
three receiver sets, right.

Speaker 8 (15:30):
Yeah, they're near the bottom of the league. It's I
believe thirty six percent is what I saw when I
looked at it a couple of days ago.

Speaker 7 (15:38):
I'm expecting that's going to go up.

Speaker 8 (15:40):
A little bit with this You're going to see more
three receivers. That's gonna be more where it was at
with the stage with Kubiak last year where they were a.

Speaker 7 (15:47):
Little higher than that.

Speaker 8 (15:48):
Not they're going to get away from their you know,
heavy packages because that is a huge part of.

Speaker 7 (15:52):
Point Kubiak's offense.

Speaker 8 (15:54):
But I think your number one and your number two
receivers are going to be JSN and Shaheed.

Speaker 7 (15:59):
I think those are the top two guys.

Speaker 8 (16:01):
I think Cooper Cup, win healthy, he and Horton are
both going to get quite a few reps as that
third receiver. And you might see Shaheed play some out
of the backfield too. As I mentioned, that's something that
Kubiak did last year too, So that might impact Walker
and Charboney's reps just a teeny bit. It's and we're
not talking more than a couple snaps a game, but

(16:22):
I would anticipate Shaheed is not being brought in to
be a third or fourth wheel. He is going to
be the number two guy. With his explosiveness and his versatility,
it just makes me, It does make me wonder what
we're looking at beyond it this year with somebody like
Cooper Cup whose contract has fairly easy outs.

Speaker 7 (16:38):
Because I think Shaheed is.

Speaker 8 (16:39):
A guy much younger, much more athletic, He's probably going
to be the guy they're going to be wanting to
get a long term contract with, especially after giving up
two draft picks for it.

Speaker 1 (16:49):
Where does Tory Horton fit into this because we just
see the you know, he had four catches forty eight yards.
Of course someone skewed by a twenty five yard touchdown,
but the two touchdowns as well, we're starting to see
glimpses of Tory Horton. Does this stunt his growth and
involvement at all?

Speaker 7 (17:04):
I don't think so.

Speaker 8 (17:04):
I mean, I'm I'm gonna be honest with you, Ian,
like when the trade first went there thought, even when
Cooper Cup's healthy, I'm wondering how many snaps is gonna
be getting. And I'm still kind of hitting my head
against the wall a little bit trying to think how
they're gonna make that work if he's gonna still be
getting a lot of reps because Tory Horton, his ability
to stretch the field and what he does on kick
returns stuff. I just have a feeling that this is

(17:28):
gonna be one of those instances where Cooper Cup's gonna
be a high priced backup that's gonna come in some
to help with the run game of his blocking.

Speaker 7 (17:36):
He's gonna get some snaps.

Speaker 8 (17:37):
But I just I don't know how the Seahawks can
justify taking Horton off the field and having those other
two guys out there, somebody's gotta come out. So Cups
probably the one that you're looking at is kinda have
the toughest time, and maybe him being out a few
weeks isn't gonna be a bad thing necessarily and helps
facilitate this deal, this trade happening to begin with.

Speaker 1 (17:57):
You know what, it sounds like, Corbin, we're talking about
a Mike leech air offense because all this is based
on the fact they still can't run the football right.

Speaker 8 (18:05):
Well, what you're hoping is that this is going to
mean the Seahawks are still in the top three for
the most loaded boxes that they're facing in the run game.
At some point you would think these defenses are gonna
start adjusting, like, Okay, we're tired of Jackson Smith and
Jig but torching us.

Speaker 7 (18:21):
And oh, by the way, now they've got another guy
with four three speed over there in Shieed. They can
take the top of a defense.

Speaker 8 (18:26):
At some point they're going to have to start playing
lighter boxes.

Speaker 7 (18:30):
But then the Seahawks can.

Speaker 8 (18:31):
Probably get their run game going, and you're like, okay,
what do I do here? And Mike McDonald was saying
yesterday that this move wasn't made to dictate what the
defense they're doing. But I find that hard to believe
that that wasn't part of the discussion here, because when
you have two receivers, three receivers really with Tory Horton
that can hit home runs downfield like that, the amount

(18:52):
of stress that it puts on an opposing play caller
and the limitations it does for how you can defend
the run. You gotta believe if they can't run against this,
then you know this is their best opportunity. Then you've
got to be worried if they can't run against lighter boxes,
because I think teams are going to have to make
that adjustment or Sam Darnold's just going to keep picking
them apart downfield with the weapons that he now has

(19:14):
at his disposal.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
What do you think of the compensation and all the
context being you know, fourth and a fifth round. Okay,
So Tory Horton, Robbie oots fifth rounders this past season,
a J. Barner and Tyrese Knight fourth rounders a year before.
For what it's worth, Anthony Bradford a fourth rounder, Mike
Morris on the team a fourth rounder, ol with Timmy
a fifth rounder Kobe Bryant, a starter, a fourth rounder

(19:38):
Riek Will and a starter basically a fifth rounder Trey
Brown in the draft that they just didn't care about
was a starter for many games for them as well.
I could go on for a while. You know that
Kobe Parkinson good player now still in the NFL, et cetera,
et cetera. So what do you say about the compensation
for this guy who's got an expiring contract.

Speaker 8 (19:57):
Well, my understanding and she he talked about this some
yesterday too. My understanding from sources that I talked to
immediately after the news broke about this trades that they
were making this trade with the viewpoint that Rashid Shaheed
is going to be part of this.

Speaker 7 (20:13):
Team well beyond this year. They want him to be.

Speaker 8 (20:16):
A foundational piece through JSN and Tory Horton in this
passing game, and so giving up a fourth and a fifth,
they are willing to do that.

Speaker 7 (20:24):
And John Snyder really likes to make trades like this.
He I mean, think about it.

Speaker 8 (20:27):
I mean, Lennon Williams and Ernest Jones were both on
expiring and he didn't worry about getting them extended when
the trade happened, we'll just figure it out after the season,
go earn it. And so that's what they're going to
be doing here with Shahed. Hey play the way we
think you're going to play in this offense, and you're
going to be compensated.

Speaker 7 (20:44):
You're going to be part of our future on offense.
So I look a fourth and a fifth.

Speaker 8 (20:50):
I understand all those names being thrown out there, but
you know you're getting another guy that was on pace
for a thousand receiving yards, that the dynamite kick and
punt or can run the football. They were originally getting
asked for a third round pick. This is a good
compromise giving him a fourth and a fifth. If you
lose him as a rental, then it looks expensive if

(21:11):
you resign him after the season, though, that a fourth
and a fifth round pick, especially this upcoming draft, Ian,
this might be the worst draft I've seen since twenty
thirteen in terms of overall talent. If you don't have
a fourth and a fifth rounder this year, probably not
as big of a deal as it would have been,
say last year, where there was a lot more talent.

(21:31):
In the Day three of the draft, I don't think
you're going to see anything like that in this year's class.

Speaker 1 (21:37):
That's a good tease for my guy. Rob rang your
buddy as well tomorrow on our show, because I was
going to ask I was gonna go down that road
with him, is like, Okay, they just gave this up, Rob,
fourth and fifth? Is it that big of a deal
this coming draft? And you're telling me, I know, part
of it is you talked to Rob all the time.
You guys have that discussion, right, this is if that's
the case, you know, I think there's this feeling sometimes,

(21:57):
Corbyn that all drafts are created the same, and the
only way they're not the same is because it's based
on the quarterbacks available, et cetera.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
But drafts go far.

Speaker 1 (22:06):
Deeper than one position, as you well know some drafts,
some drafts are fine, some drafts aren't. And if these
got I'm sure that came into play with John Schneider
right saying, hey, I don't need this draft capital this
year as much, and oh, by the way, if I
change my mind, I'm John Schneider and I've always found
a way to get as many draft picks as I
want anyway.

Speaker 8 (22:24):
Exactly, and this could be a draft where in the
early rounds you might be.

Speaker 7 (22:29):
Able to get more in return trading back.

Speaker 8 (22:32):
Just because the talent is going to dry out quicker,
so teams are going to be more desperate to get
into those top sixty to ninety picks to try to
get players before Day three. It's just not a draft
that has a lot of depth at very many positions.
And Seattle is going to be going into this offseason
with quite a bit of money available. They're going to
have some extensions obviously they need to sign, but they're

(22:54):
going to be in a position if they want to
plug some holes in free agency that they will be
able to do that too. So every year is different,
and I think this is It's not as bad as
the year that they drafted three players where John Schneider
basically punted the entire draft, but I think this year's
class in terms of talent is nowhere near as good
and deep as we've seen the last.

Speaker 7 (23:14):
Couple of years.

Speaker 1 (23:16):
Corbus Fitch joining a central C spectrum the let's let's
get into the game this week, and that would be
the Arizona Cardinals, who, for whatever reason sore foot or
not Kyler Murray. It's I mean, that's just a gong
show there isn't it, Corbyin I mean, they're just a
they're a dumpster fire when they when they've invest all
that money in the quarterback, he's obviously not their quarterback.
They're going ja Kobe Brissett. Seattle's going to take advantage

(23:37):
this week, don't they.

Speaker 7 (23:40):
Well, you know.

Speaker 8 (23:41):
I'm gonna say what I said Unlocked on Seahawks with
my Locked on Cardinals co host yesterday. This team scares
me more without Kyler Murray under center. Like I just
I'm just being honest with you. They do not scare
me with Kyler Murray, but I think he is a
fairly easy quarterback to put a game plan together for.
And see Sattle has mastered that. The last two coaching staffs,

(24:02):
I mean, Ben the Pete Carroll's tenure, they were shutting
him down. I think Jacoby Brissett, they're going to be
able to attack the entire field a lot more than
what they were with Kyler Murray. With that being said,
he's not near the athlete and he's been sacked a lot,
So can the front line keep that going and make
it that Brissett doesn't have time to get the ball downfield.

(24:23):
I mean he's averaged almost two yards more per attempt
than what Kyler Murray was. Since he took over as
a starter, you're seeing more from their skill guys because
of that. Could he get that pressure on Jacoby Brissett,
because if he can do that, one of the reasons
he has never made it as a starter in this
league is because he's had issues with strip sacks and fumbles.
If they can get back there and punch the ball out,

(24:44):
I think that you could get some quick changes and
this thing to get out of hand. At the same time,
it's a Cardinals team that's lost a lot of games
by narrow margins, and I think they're a lot better
than their three and five records suggested, and they just
look like they're playing better with the other quarterback in
This really does feel like there Car in Vegas and
Russell Wilson Denver, where you know they're lucky in the sense,

(25:04):
well we do those two other situations, they didn't have
injuries that they can lean on. Now, well, Kyler Murray's hurt,
we can we could use that as our top out.
Why we're not playing him anymore. That's really what it
feels like in Arizona.

Speaker 1 (25:15):
Now what worries you defensively for the Seahawks. For with
Gannon's team, a lot this.

Speaker 8 (25:23):
Is a this is a defense is gonna look a
lot different than the Week four matchup, And mainly Walter Nolan,
the rookie out of Ole Myth up front. That scares
me from a a now an analyst standpoint, because he's
extremely athletic, He's a penetrator. Dallas had a lot of
trouble keeping him away from Dak Prescott on Monday night,

(25:45):
and Dallas had one of the most explosive offenses of
the league. Big reason they couldn't put points to the
board was because of him. They've got Will Johnson back,
their second rounder out of Michigan at corner.

Speaker 7 (25:55):
He's playing good football. He did not play in that.

Speaker 8 (25:57):
First matchup, so they're just a lot healthier and they've
got a lot of weapons on that defense. And don't
forget about the seventy five year old Kalayis Campbell.

Speaker 7 (26:06):
The guy can still play. It's absolutely incredible Ian. That
guy has been in the league.

Speaker 8 (26:12):
He's basically been in the league since I was in
divers and the guy just continues to play at a
high level. I have the ultimate respect for the way
that he does things, and he always hurts the Seahawks.
So I think that defense that's probably the thing that
tells me Arizona can hang in this game. The most
is their defense, and if their offense doesn't have as
many turnovers as Kyler Murray has had the last several

(26:34):
times they've played the Seahawks, then they get a chance
to make this game very interesting.

Speaker 7 (26:38):
On Sunday.

Speaker 2 (26:39):
It's rarely easy.

Speaker 1 (26:40):
Last week against Washington where of those rare easy Seahawks games,
usually it's a little bit of a grind. We'll see,
and I have a feeling you're right it's going to
end up being that way as well, especially since I
don't know they're playing without the home field advantage because
they're home the Seahawks, that is, as opposed to the
place they'e went ten straight on the road along the way.

Speaker 2 (26:56):
Tell folks about Emerald City Spectrum, Sir.

for the local National Hockey League team. I'll tell you
about it next.

Speaker 3 (28:12):
The here said bloe backround.

Speaker 5 (28:13):
No man's this is The Daily power Play Hockey Babe
on your home for the Kraken Sports Radio ninety three
point three.

Speaker 3 (28:25):
kJ R f M.

Speaker 6 (28:27):
Why you set up Seattle.

Speaker 5 (28:29):
The Daily power Play is brought to you by Sakwahonda Caboda,
the logist inventory of Caboda equipment in King County. Now
your daily look at the National Hockey League and the
Seattle Kraken with the Inverness.

Speaker 1 (28:46):
Well, we can no longer say the Cracking are unbeaten
it home. I got Travis Smog you to run that
game last night, didn't you. My apologies that was That
was not good, buddy, That was not good. Six to one,
the final of Sharks knockoff. The Kraken Sharks scored just
over minute into the game and they put it away
with a goal just over a minute into the third period.
It was easily Seattle's worst game of the year. I

(29:09):
think in some ways their worst effort of the year
as well. Just didn't have it last night. Too many
passengers on that train and the result was a young
team in San Jose came into town and gave them
a beatdown at Climate Pledgerina. Next up for the Crack
and they'll take on Saint Louis and Dallas back to
back game Saturday and Sunday on the road. All those games,

(29:31):
well see Saturday's game will be over on nine to
fifty and then Sunday's game right here on nine three
point three KTERFM, Jay and schwartz were the leaders on
this team. He got caught Mike Benton caught up with
him after what I heard was not a very pleasant
practice today at Climate Pledgerina.

Speaker 3 (29:45):
Here he is, well, Schwartzky, first off, after last night.

Speaker 9 (29:48):
What was Urina as far as how expectations for this
morning met what you saw today in practice?

Speaker 10 (29:52):
Yeah, yeah, I mean, you know, it wasn't good enough
and pretty much every area, so we all know that
everywhere from the zone to execution, to checking to just
making plays with the puck. So you know, unfortunately you're
going to get those games a few times a year.
You don't want that, obviously, you know you're trying to

(30:13):
win every game, but those games happen, and if you
can learn from them and you know, realize what you
did wrong and get better because of it, it could make
you better in the long run and just make you know,
if you're not hungry in this league, from the start
of the game. If you're not working and playing your systems,
it doesn't matter who you play or you're probably not
going to win.

Speaker 7 (30:33):
So just a bit of a wake up call.

Speaker 10 (30:36):
And you know, we got a great chance to get
back at her here in a couple of days.

Speaker 2 (30:41):
Yeah, I was a wake up call among other things.

Speaker 1 (30:43):
Yesterday you're going to have those games, and you're going
to have you know, and you're going to have those
games along the way. I get it, And honestly, just
from business standpoint, you hope it's on the road.

Speaker 2 (30:58):
But yeah, that was that was a clunker last night.

Speaker 1 (31:01):
Joey wasn't great, but frankly, he didn't have much of
a chance on I don't think any of the goals.
It just was the power play was zero for six.

Speaker 2 (31:09):
That's bad. And they've been good lately.

Speaker 1 (31:13):
They made the goaltend of the young Russian kid Askarov
look pretty good. And I don't know, I mean, he's okay,
I don't think he's that good. So if they just
had a night they did change some lines today, they
made some moves, they did some things. They got Copo
Cocko back. I believe with Everly and beneers if I'm
not mistaken and move some guys around. So we'll we'll
see what happens on Saturday. But it's it was not good.

(31:35):
It's kind of cool for a while to say, hey,
unbeating at home in regulation. That was nice while it lasted.
But next up again those two games this weekend. They're
back home on Tuesday to take on Columbus and then
Winnipeg a week from today. The schedule just does not
let up now. Saint Louis having the worst year so far,
the worst start in the Western Conference. They got whacked

(31:57):
last night six to one as well by Washington.

Speaker 2 (32:00):
That was on the road.

Speaker 1 (32:01):
By the way, Washington's Alexander of Vechkin scored is nine
hundredth career goal. Never thought, never ever thought I would
see that happen.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
All right, there you go.

Speaker 1 (32:09):
That's your daily power play, brought you by a good
friends at Iskquahanda Caboda out there in Issaqua easy get
you just off of I ninety, By the way, Isquahanta Caboda.
If you're like Bucky Jacobson or others, and you got
those yards things happening right now, and you might need
the chainsaw, you might need some gear to clean stuff
up in the yard and deal with all the nonsense

(32:29):
that we have during this winter time. Issaquahanda Caboda your
place to go, whether it's big equipment, small equipment, stuff
for the house, or maybe you're in the business. Go
check those guys out. Awesome group of people out there.
It's Quaha Cobota right off of I ninety there in issaquad.
All right, here we go, coming up next. It's the
unofficial start of the weekend. This is your first foray

(32:50):
into this moga, isn't It is your first go around
with the unofficial start of the weekend. You you probably
know you're coming to work today and going Wait, the
weekend starts now, Yeah, it does. It starts in just
about five minutes time. Two oh six two eight six
ninety five ninety five. I see my guy Ricky and
Tacoma's calling in. I love it. We got all the
regulars up there so far, so that's a good thing

(33:12):
to see. Two oh six two eight six ninety five
ninety five. Two oh six, two eight six ninety five
ninety five. Call in right now. We'll get your phone
calls and then we'll get your text messages as well.

Speaker 2 (33:21):
Four nine four five one.

Speaker 1 (33:23):
We'll get early texts at the one o'clock hour, and
we'll get text in the two o'clock hours, So if
you haven't texted in, you can do that right now.
Brandon Funston from the Athletic Unofficial start of the weekend
starts next. Hello Funston, how are you?

Speaker 6 (33:37):
Oh? I'm doing all right? You know, I feel a
little bit like like rob today, like you know, just
with a rough with a rough week for me last week.
So yeah, looking to get back in the saddle. But
the weather's kind of a metaphor for I.

Speaker 1 (33:51):
Things they're going right, God, is it not? Four nine
four five one. I'll get to your texts here the
latter part of the segment. We'll get the texak in
at one. So if you sent one in, take a
just sip, sit back. If you're right at one o'clock,
pretty good chance you'll get that red here in a minute.
And if you're at two o'clock, get those in right now.
We'll get as many as we can. Of course, phone
calls always starts first. We go first, Mike and Edmunds. Hi, Mike,

(34:16):
Hi in, Hi Brandon, what's up buddy?

Speaker 2 (34:17):
How are you hey?

Speaker 11 (34:19):
Doing well? Okay, so little little by mcgeddon of my
own this week, but here we go.

Speaker 6 (34:26):
Okay, Fortunately Cincinnati and Dallas's defenses are off this week,
which is going to be a bummer for a lot
of fans.

Speaker 1 (34:35):
Exactly easy points there. So all right, what do you got, Mike.

Speaker 11 (34:39):
Yep full PPR. I need one running back and one
wide receiver out of these five guys, Romeo Dobbs, Ashton Genty,
David Montgomery, Stefan Diggs or Carlos Courtland Sutton and thanks
as always.

Speaker 2 (34:55):
Thank you.

Speaker 6 (34:56):
Just one running back at one receiver. Okay, I'm gonna go.
I'm gonna go ahead, Courtland Sutton tonight the matchup against
the Raiders gonna be a positive for him. And then yeah,
I'm just gonna follow the volume and it's gonna be
another one in this game tonight and go with Ashton
Genty over Montgomery. So yeah, I mean, I just you know,
Gent's gonna have a chance to catch a decent amount

(35:18):
of balls tonight too, I think.

Speaker 1 (35:20):
Okay, there we go, love it all right, Well, okay,
we get the band back together. By the way, it
opens up a line two oh six two eight six
ninety five ninety five, we get the band back together.

Speaker 2 (35:28):
I don't know where he was last week.

Speaker 1 (35:29):
It threw us all off, but he's back head down
to the two five three in Tacoma.

Speaker 2 (35:34):
Ricky and Tacoma. What's up, Ricky? What's up, buddy?

Speaker 12 (35:37):
I try to tell him while people at work. You know,
I know I need to train, but fantasy is more
so important.

Speaker 1 (35:42):
Damn right and we Hey, do those guys not know
that they that we depend on Ricky and Tacoma being
caller number two every week at this time.

Speaker 12 (35:51):
I try to let him know the Mike Trout is
the number two is great.

Speaker 2 (35:56):
Exactly exactly exactly, all right, what.

Speaker 4 (35:59):
Do you go?

Speaker 12 (36:00):
All right, Brandon, I got three three guys here. I
need the best one standard scoring flex spot.

Speaker 7 (36:06):
I have r J.

Speaker 12 (36:07):
Harvey, you know tonight, Kristin Watson and Tuba Hubbard. I
need the best one out of those three, you know,
standard scoring.

Speaker 6 (36:16):
Yeah, I'm just uh, you know, Rico Dawdle has has
literally has taken over, just taking that spot away from
Chuba Hubbard in Carolina. So I'm going to go ahead
and go with R. J. Harvey's He got a ton
of touchdown LUCKI lately. But I think he's going to
get a little bit more, a few more touches tonight
as well. So, but they seem to design plays for
him specifically each game, multiple ones, and it's been working

(36:39):
into touchdowns. So in standard scoring, you got to chase
those touchdowns.

Speaker 1 (36:43):
There you go, all right, Ricky, thank you. Good to
have you back. Ricky, Good to have Ricky back.

Speaker 2 (36:47):
All right.

Speaker 1 (36:48):
He was mentioned early as he always is, two six
two six ninety to jump the phones, Rob and Burien, Hi, rob.

Speaker 9 (36:58):
My cold black heart great, and then I can beat
a guy that's two guys on a.

Speaker 6 (37:01):
Bye oh yes, absentees owners at this time of year
is nice.

Speaker 2 (37:09):
Oh gosh, that's perfect.

Speaker 9 (37:12):
I'll take it.

Speaker 2 (37:14):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (37:14):
So Rob's upbeat and Brandon's down again. The world we're
living in right now makes absolutely no sense to me,
but we we move on, all right, Rob, what do
you got there?

Speaker 2 (37:22):
Buddy?

Speaker 9 (37:23):
And three of these five guys so Deebo, Dobbs Kittle,
Trey Tucker and Rashad Shahid.

Speaker 6 (37:32):
Rashid Shaheed Trey Tucker. I'm gonna go with the first three.
I like Shaheed and they know he has you know
it has some nice experience in last year with Kubiak,
but probably want to wait a game. But I love
to pick up for the Seahawks. But for this week,
like the way Dobbs is playing, Dobbs and Deebo are
gonna should get the majority of targets. Remember, Tucker Craft

(37:54):
is out for for Green Bay now and everybody else
seems to be banged up, so it should be a
lot of work for Dobbs, same for Tebo as well.

Speaker 1 (38:01):
All right, perfect, that's Rob and Burien again. What kind
of alternate universe are we living in Funston? That's all
I want to know. Let's see we go to Oh yeah,
we got to do the Sultan two step as always,
Steven and Sultan your first stuff?

Speaker 2 (38:14):
What do you got? Steven?

Speaker 7 (38:18):
Last week is over? I only lost crowd Daniels.

Speaker 13 (38:21):
You know, so Mayfield that was on a buy at
leave he couldn't get injured.

Speaker 1 (38:27):
I feel your pain, buddy, I feel your We all
feel your pain. We all share that same pain this year,
trust me.

Speaker 13 (38:33):
So it's a two part question. I need to drop
one of these guys because I have to pick them. Why,
you see, if I only have a four man bench,
Cup McLaurin, Brion Thomas Junior to drop for either a
doomsday or.

Speaker 6 (38:50):
You can you're able to pick up a doomsday.

Speaker 13 (38:53):
Yeah, somebody dropped him.

Speaker 7 (38:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 13 (38:55):
We only have a four man bench, so it's a
very hard with buys you get, you have to drop players.

Speaker 6 (39:01):
Yeah, I know Donsey has been up and down, but
it's been a bit of a you know, it's been
a bit of matchup based and all that. But man,
he has got such a great match up against the
Still he's still a top twenty wide receiver overall. He
belongs on a roster, So go for a doonsay, and
I'd play him this week.

Speaker 2 (39:15):
For sure, and drop cup? Is that you said?

Speaker 7 (39:16):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (39:17):
Absolutely?

Speaker 2 (39:17):
Yeah, okay, all right, that makes sense.

Speaker 1 (39:19):
All right, that's one half of the Sultan two step
the other half of the Sultan. Sultan two step Derek
and Sultan. What's up, Derek?

Speaker 12 (39:28):
What's anybody?

Speaker 1 (39:31):
All?

Speaker 4 (39:32):
Right?

Speaker 14 (39:32):
Here?

Speaker 2 (39:33):
Here we go.

Speaker 14 (39:33):
I need two of these four between Romeo Dobbs, Trey Henderson,
De Marcado and uh ken Walker. And you know, I
don't want to sit him, but I feel like ken
Walker's got to sit. But then he's gonna go off
if I sit him.

Speaker 12 (39:51):
So yeah, I would play.

Speaker 6 (39:53):
Yeah, I would play Dobbs and I would play Ken Walker.
And you know, Walker was just against the Cardinals last
last time. I'm he's also he also picked up some
goal line work last week. That could be a changing
in the guard there.

Speaker 2 (40:05):
Oh, he's not.

Speaker 6 (40:08):
Going to be Charbonnay automatically anymore, so that will help
us upside a little bit.

Speaker 1 (40:11):
It's all right, perfect, isn't it? The charbonn a Walker.
Isn't that like the Pacheco?

Speaker 2 (40:16):
Uh? What's unting?

Speaker 6 (40:19):
Yeah, that's a great way to put it. I mean,
I mean, I'd like to think it's a little bit
more of an upper middle class version of that. But
you know, it's kind of been. It's been some meager
weeks for those guys lately, so hopefully you know, it's
a point emphasis this week.

Speaker 1 (40:32):
All right, we've got time for another phone caller to
two O six two eight six ninety five ninety five
six two eight six ninety five ninety five. Let's get
Kyle and eat him. Call up next. What's up Kyle?

Speaker 4 (40:43):
Oh God, I don't know why I do this to
myself every year. So I'm benched Jagans last week because
my Manungu for Manunga and I'm like, why am am
I doing that?

Speaker 7 (40:57):
Now?

Speaker 6 (40:58):
Well, I mean, I mean, yeah, I mean the touchdowns
are worth more, but I mean you can't argue the
you know, the process of getting the guy that went
for like one hundred and seventy rushing yards, so you know,
it's yeah, it's uh you know.

Speaker 4 (41:11):
But uh, okay, my question. So I'm on a buy
hell a week anyway, But do you know what's up
with DJ Moore? Is he gonna play?

Speaker 6 (41:22):
Yeah? He was. Let's see, he was a limited practice today,
which is great for a Thursday to have a limited practice,
So he's he's looking good. Didn't say it was limited
as well. But as far as I know, both of
those guys are trending towards playing.

Speaker 4 (41:36):
Okay, and then I need to well I don't need one,
but I got a bunch of tight ends. So Juwan Johnson,
god he or the other what's the rookie from Chicago?

Speaker 6 (41:52):
Oh yeah, I mean those are all good options. Have
him all in the top twelve tight ends. I just
have got her. Uh number one is the best. Green
Bay has been generous to the tight end and fantasy
and god her has just been a touchdown got a
touchdown machine. So I have got it a little bit ahead.

Speaker 7 (42:08):
I'll go with Gotard.

Speaker 2 (42:10):
Thank you, Thanks Kyle. That's Kyle and Ingham.

Speaker 1 (42:13):
QUI right, I got grief last week, if if we
might get another phone caller two in two six two
eight six ninety five ninety five. But I got a
little grief last week because we didn't get enough text
in people texting in and all that.

Speaker 2 (42:21):
I get that.

Speaker 1 (42:22):
I don't understand what they're doing. It's it's hard because, frankly,
you know we have people calling in or texting in
right away, as you know, Funston right at one pm.
And I got a refresh here, so bear with me this.
I am actually doing that.

Speaker 6 (42:35):
You got someone hit the number exactly.

Speaker 1 (42:37):
I'm refreshing right now, and I'll let you know here
in two seconds because I believe we were close. Hang on,
move scroll down, all right, not one hundred percent? Okay,
we got a whole bunch of oh no, yes, yes, yes,
yes from the three six zero area code Fundston. All right,
final four numbers are three, five, seven to two on

(42:59):
that phone number. But nicely done. A bang on bull's
eye and he's got a tight end. Question Kyle Pitts
or Evan Ingram.

Speaker 6 (43:07):
Uh Yeah, definitely, Kyle Pitts good matchup. Indie has been
generous and Evan Ingram has just not been working out
in that Broncos offense.

Speaker 1 (43:14):
This is an amazing phenomenon. Honestly, every like that's the
only bulls eye. But the amount of guys that got
text in or women whatever at one second after is remarkable.
People are sick four two five, need one Herbert, Goff
or Pennix.

Speaker 6 (43:31):
Let's go with justin Herbert against the Steelers.

Speaker 1 (43:35):
Full PPR need three Flowers Dobbs, Swift, Goddard or genty
Flowers Dobbs, Swift, Goddard, genty need.

Speaker 6 (43:44):
Three so Flowers genty and yeah, I'm gonna go Swift.
I think it's gonna be a platoon. But it's such
a good it's such a good matchup against the Giants.

Speaker 2 (43:53):
Swift's another one of those teasers, isn't he like.

Speaker 6 (43:56):
Well, he was doing great and then he then he
got knocked out for a week, but he full practice today,
so he should be back. But sounds like it's gonna
be sort of like the Detroit situation. Obviously, you know
you have the you know, the coach, the offensive coordinator
there now in Chicago running things, and he's kind of
running at Gibbs Montgomery kind of backfield now, so Manongui

(44:17):
is the Montgomery and Swifts, yeah Gibbs.

Speaker 7 (44:20):
All right.

Speaker 1 (44:21):
It's still one second after the hour, which is remarkable
standard scoring. Need two of three. Sutton Flowers ATM. That's
from our buddy Ben Sutton Flowers or ATN.

Speaker 6 (44:31):
I'm gonna go with the two receivers. There a tough
matchup against the Texans for ETN.

Speaker 1 (44:36):
The next are really tardy. There are two seconds after
one o'clock. We'll start with this one. Start Jay Herbert
or s Darnald That would be Justin or Sam Donald?
Who do you start?

Speaker 6 (44:46):
Yeah, the Pittsburgh has been so very generous to quarterbacks
in fantasy. I have Herbert in my top six. Donald
they have at number ten, So not not bad options there,
but I'm still gonna go with Herbert.

Speaker 1 (45:00):
Let's see PPR. Judkins or Dowbdell in my flex.

Speaker 6 (45:04):
Oh yeah, those are two good options as well. I
have doubt Old number four overall, but Judkins number twelve
overall is not a bad play either. Just go with
Doubt ale as a hothand right.

Speaker 1 (45:14):
Now, because this guy was just a couple of seconds after.
I'm gonna read this verbatim at fundstant if you can
translate this, you're a better man than me. And you
are so I would think you might be Bill or
Second sorry, Bill or Singletary half point PPR long term?
Is it time to move on from Bill? Maybe grab
a gain Well or Teuton or Algier.

Speaker 6 (45:34):
You don't know who Bill is? I think you do.
That's Ja Cory krossky Merritt, Yeah, yeah, otherwise known as Billy.
I've just downgraded him.

Speaker 2 (45:43):
I thank you.

Speaker 6 (45:44):
I'm you know, it's I'm biased a little bit because
I have him all over the place and the guy
has done.

Speaker 1 (45:48):
Nothing, done nothing. He's done nothing nothing. That's why I
don't know his name is Bill.

Speaker 6 (45:52):
Yeah. So I'll just take a you know, I'll take
a workload split with Singletary and Tyron Tracy. But it's
against the Bears, and that's a great matchup for a
running back.

Speaker 1 (45:59):
I'm a lot read that. Then I feel better by
the way he had a long run? Did Bill last week?
Of six yards? Six yards?

Speaker 2 (46:05):
Was his long run? Is that good?

Speaker 6 (46:06):
We have to tell me your preseat is the choir?
I's Frank, I got smart and at least left him
on my bench last week. But yeah, he's close to
he's you know, justifiably cut able.

Speaker 1 (46:18):
Still A couple seconds after the hour, insaaning PPR. Judkins
are doubtle in my flex.

Speaker 6 (46:23):
Yeah, you just asked that one. I went, I went doubtle,
But I do like Judkins, especially. Jets got rid of
all their best defensive players, so the Jets have suddenly
become a little bit easier matchup. But Judkins, he's banged
up a little bit, and like I said, Daddo has
just been so on fire, you gotta go with doubt.

Speaker 1 (46:40):
Before this came. These are all four seconds after so
I'll read this one. Ryan and Scotts Sale listening on
the iHeartRadio app. We appreciate that preset your preset, reset
your preset to number one.

Speaker 2 (46:50):
There we go. What's up with a duneesay, says Ryan.

Speaker 6 (46:54):
Well, the biggest problem is Caleb Williams is one of
the least accurate quarterbacks in the league. He makes some great,
you know, playground plays, and he's getting some rushing numbers
and it works out in fantasy, but as far as accuracy,
he's at the bottom. And Romo Doonsay's average depth of
target is like, I think thirteen plus yards, which is
pretty deep. And I think he gets gets screwed when he's,

(47:15):
you know, if he's not like wide open in those situations,
because if there's not a big window there, Caleb Williams
just will sometimes either ignore him or just flat out
miss him.

Speaker 1 (47:24):
All right, Well that brings us to this, Yeah, that
brings us this question from somebody else. Need three Ted McMillan,
Brian Thomas Junior, Roma Doonsay, Romeo Dobbs, T Franklin. Need
three of those guys.

Speaker 6 (47:36):
Yeah, I like, I like T. Franklin, but I'm gonna
hold off on him. And I think Brian Thomas Junior,
I mean, I hope he plays, but he was a
d MP again today. He's been in DMP this week.
He rolled his ankle. So let's go Tet, Let's go
with Donsay and I forget the other one. Dobbs.

Speaker 1 (47:52):
Yeah, there, need to your buddy Bill T. Tracy Junior
or Aaron Jones Senior.

Speaker 2 (47:58):
Need two of those, Yeah.

Speaker 6 (48:00):
Me T Tracy, give me Junior and Senior.

Speaker 1 (48:03):
I just want a confirmation on that as all. That's
all I was looking for.

Speaker 6 (48:06):
There. Yeah, there you go.

Speaker 1 (48:07):
Jamie from Allen says for the tight end positions, I
put in Kincaid or Loveland.

Speaker 6 (48:12):
I have Kincaid going against Miami. They've been generous to
the tight end position. I have him a couple of
spots ahead of Levelands.

Speaker 2 (48:18):
A lot of people ask about Sutton tonight. How high
do you have them ranked?

Speaker 6 (48:21):
I have him in my top fifteen. So just a
rock solid play. Unless you're gonna have embarrassment of riches,
you should be playing.

Speaker 1 (48:29):
Him super flex. For my buddy Mike, I need to
pretty sure I'm starting Jackson Darpa. Can't decide between bow
Nicks tonight or Caleb Williams.

Speaker 6 (48:37):
Oh, I have those back to back. I'll tell you
what I'm gonna go with Caleb Williams. I just like
the Giants Bears, kind of.

Speaker 2 (48:44):
Just what you believe in. Pete is a peep? Is
this a Pete love fest going on? This is old weirdly.

Speaker 6 (48:49):
As bad as the Raiders have been, their defense has
been kind of decent. It gets lost in the in
the shuffle, but you know, you look at the metrics
and people are not going off against the Raiders and fans.

Speaker 1 (49:00):
All right, let's go, uh the top of the list
here hanging on a second, There we go r J.

Speaker 2 (49:05):
Harvey or Rashad White.

Speaker 6 (49:08):
I think Bucky Irving's going to sit. New England's a
tough matchup, but with what you notice about New England,
they give up a lot of receptions to the running back.
Rashad White can do that, so I wouldn't be surprised
if he catches five or six passes this week.

Speaker 7 (49:20):
Three six?

Speaker 1 (49:20):
Oh, Jacoby Myers or Tesz Johnson. And after you answer that,
Fundston jump in on the Jacoby Myers what you do
with him this week?

Speaker 6 (49:27):
Yeah, I think it's another kind of wait and see.
But if Brian Thomas Junior's out, I might, you know,
I could see you putting him in the flex, but
I'd rather have Tesz Johnson just because there's you know,
it's basically Igbuka and Tesz Johnson Evans is out. Doesn't
look like Godwin's gonna play. So I like the way
Tedes Johnson's looked when he's kind of getting starter run,

(49:47):
and so I would put him ahead of Jacoby. I
will say that Jacksonville needs a short area target. Jacoby
Myers lives around lives around the line of scrimmage in
terms of his target area, and Lawrence is another one
of those guys, not very accurate. You look at some
of the best things he's ever done is when he's
had those guys like Christian Kirk that he threw like
eight nine yards downfield and Jacoby Myers fits that bill.

Speaker 2 (50:10):
At or genty genty.

Speaker 1 (50:14):
Let's see Canine or Kamara half point PPR which pile
of garbage will suck less?

Speaker 2 (50:21):
That's from Yeah, I know, I hear you.

Speaker 6 (50:25):
I'm going Canine. I just think Kamara is getting phased out.
They dumped Shahi, they traded offensive lineman. I wouldn't be
surprised if they just see what they have in Devin
Neil a little bit more at the expense of Alvin Kamara.

Speaker 2 (50:38):
This week, I like this one.

Speaker 1 (50:39):
Do I start Daniel Jones or Sam Donald because the
European Games scared me fantasy wise?

Speaker 6 (50:44):
Yeah, And Daniel Jones looked a little Danny Dimes thish
last week. The old Danny Dimes looked.

Speaker 2 (50:50):
Rad Yeah he did.

Speaker 6 (50:51):
Yeah. I have Donald like three spots ahead of Jones.

Speaker 2 (50:55):
This week Kittle or Tyler Warren.

Speaker 6 (50:58):
They're back to back Warren has tough. Atlanta has been really,
really tough against the tight ends, like seventeen receptions allowed
to the tight end position all all year. But Warren's
a little bit special. I have him back to back.
It's a coin flip. I have Warren ahead a kittle,
but I honestly go with your go with your gut.
I'd just I'd throw that back on the person asking

(51:18):
the question.

Speaker 1 (51:20):
I don't know if this is the same guy that
asked the question about his sketchy commissioner before, but I
think I like drama, so I'll read it anyway.

Speaker 2 (51:26):
This is from Trevor.

Speaker 1 (51:27):
What are your thoughts of a commission adding Jamison Williams
his own team at seven am last Sunday when the
time stamp of the drop was three forty seven am.

Speaker 6 (51:37):
Well, I if I always say, if it's allowable, if
you can do it, like someone dropped at three forty
seven am and the commission was up at seven and
grabbed him. Yeah, it's just I think it's I think
all's fair if it's if it's allowable, unless it's.

Speaker 1 (51:53):
Oh yeah, because you can set your settings, you can
prevent that, right, Yeah.

Speaker 6 (51:57):
You can absolutely prevent that if someone cuts somebody, you
can put him on a twenty four hour waiver, automatic
waiver process. I mean the way that the ruling is
on that. It's like if anybody gets cut before the game,
then they don't have they don't automatically go to waivers,
which means as soon as they're cut, their fair game.

Speaker 1 (52:13):
Let's see, I got one final one here? Where's Keith Miller?
He had a great question here. Uh, Ricky and Tacoma,
Rob and Burien.

Speaker 6 (52:24):
I you know, I love love them both, but I
gotta go with the with I gotta go with the cheer.
I gotta go with the upside with Riggy, the sunny disposition,
always happy no matter what fellas.

Speaker 3 (52:37):
Yeah, got a labrador, got a kind of.

Speaker 6 (52:39):
A Labrador vibe to him there.

Speaker 1 (52:41):
Well, the problem was is that Rob's rolled in here
a couple of times lately and he's been happy.

Speaker 6 (52:46):
Yeah, And that's another thing. You like, some predictability.

Speaker 2 (52:49):
I don't like that.

Speaker 1 (52:50):
You know, we know we're gonna get Mike number one,
Ricky number two, and then Rob normally comes in with
something like I hate this game, what am I doing?
That type of thing, and when he when he decides
not to go down that route. He must be miserable
in his league. Like, if he's actually winning, he's probably
one of those guys that taunts everybody. Right, he's got
We all have that league where the guy sends you
tax going, oh you you're struggling this week?

Speaker 2 (53:11):
Oh really, I didn't know that. Thanks, thanks, thanks.

Speaker 6 (53:15):
I have the guy my leege I loft by point
three on Monday night and he sends me a screenshot
of my own game. It says really question mark like
and it's just a needle, you know, just needling me.

Speaker 1 (53:26):
We should start a league for those guys, and everyone
send that guy from their league to that league. I'll
send I'll nominate our guy mac Daddy in our league.

Speaker 2 (53:34):
He can go to your league. We can send that
guy like.

Speaker 6 (53:35):
That's a little relegation league for that.

Speaker 1 (53:38):
Yeah, if you're the taunter, you get relegated to the
league filled with tauntres. You guys can taunt each other
and have fun, all right. Fund sending people didn't get
their questions answered, and as always a few hundred didn't.

Speaker 2 (53:48):
What can they do?

Speaker 6 (53:48):
Yeah, they can come to the Athletic go to the
fantasy football pages. Got the rankings up a bunch of
matchup breakdowns and answer your questions. We have a discord
there you can jump into as well if you just
want your questions answer there before kickoff, pretty much all
the way up to kickoff, So check it out.

Speaker 2 (54:04):
All right, buddy, we'll talk to you next week.

Speaker 7 (54:06):
Thanks.

Speaker 1 (54:06):
All right, there you go. That's that is our guy,
Brandon Funston again. The two receivers traded. By the way,
he mentioned just if you're tuning in Jacoby Myers and Rashichi,
he's probably kind of want to wait a week and
see how things settle down with those guys. We'll take
a break, come back, check a couple of texts maybe,
and then get Factor Fiction today. I do believe we're
gonna have an Anderson Hurst pick. He sent me a

(54:27):
text he wants to get his pick in this guy's moger.
I said, you know what, you could do it? He said, no,
I'm doing it. I'm doing it. So we got at
Anderson Hurst pick. We'll get that coming up as well
in Factor Fiction nine three point three KTERFM all right four.

Speaker 2 (54:45):
Nine four or five to one.

Speaker 6 (54:46):
That is the still.

Speaker 1 (54:47):
Unrestricted unrestricted free agent text line Marcus, Buddy, I didn't
see that hopefully I got what you needed, answered, stuck
in jbl on traffic.

Speaker 2 (54:59):
What day is it?

Speaker 7 (55:00):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (55:00):
Yeah, one that ends at a Why of course you are?

Speaker 7 (55:02):
Of course?

Speaker 2 (55:02):
Yes, where you're stranded.

Speaker 1 (55:05):
Louis bidding tim people asking about the thing last night,
the nine hundredth goal by Alexander Vechkin. Jordan Biddington, the
rep the goalie for Saint Louis, tried to hide the
puck is gear, trying to keep it. He said later,
I was gonna give it back to him. No, you weren't,
mostly because you're a jerk and everybody knows you're a jerk.

Speaker 2 (55:20):
You weren't gonna do that.

Speaker 1 (55:22):
Oh let's see, I'm trying to look some of the ones, yeah,
Beddington more, why why is the story out of Dallas devastating?
If you have to ask that, I can't help you,
I'm honest to God, can't help you.

Speaker 2 (55:38):
Hm hmmm, Yeah, I'm good. I'm good.

Speaker 1 (55:42):
By the way, I'm gonna I'm gonna add a little
quick thing here as a PSA.

Speaker 2 (55:46):
I just saw this that.

Speaker 1 (55:49):
If you're flying, Alaska just announced her canceling a whole
bunch of flights the next couple three days. Good times,
good time. So if you're flying on Alaska, you're flying
anywhere period. But if for final Alaska, they just made
that official. Luckily, our guys are flying on Delta on
the way to Wisconsin right now for the Husky game
in Madison against the Badgers of Wisconsin. They're flying out

(56:11):
there as we speak.

Speaker 2 (56:13):
Okay, let's get to it. Fact or Fiction?

Speaker 3 (56:15):
Where's that to go? Glad you're with us.

Speaker 5 (56:17):
It's your shot at our weekly thousand bucks and the
ten thousand dollars grand prize. It's Factor Fiction, probably presented
by Lucky Eagle Casino and hotel where every day feels lucky.
Fact or Fiction is on Sports Radio ninety three point
three KJR FM.

Speaker 1 (56:38):
We're going Factor fiction today. And our guy Anderson Hurst,
he said, I asked him today.

Speaker 2 (56:43):
I said, hey, do.

Speaker 1 (56:45):
You need to do you want to You're on vacation.
If you want to pick, I'll let you pick. Because
he's had a pretty decent year so far, especially by
our show standards.

Speaker 2 (56:54):
God, is this updated? Is this true?

Speaker 1 (56:56):
Is Jessman's still with one win? Her and Jackson are
both one and five one and six respectively? Oh lord, yeah, yeah,
and Anders said, absolutely, vacation or not. I'm gonna give
you a pick.

Speaker 2 (57:06):
What are you doing?

Speaker 1 (57:07):
You're picking for one thousand dollars. We could prize ten
thousand dollars grand prize. It's all brought to you by
the Lucky Eagle Casino Hotel where every day feels lucky.
We're going twenty four every Friday and Saturday twenty four.
Our gaming starts November seventh and Lucky Eagle Casino dot com.

Speaker 2 (57:21):
All you have to.

Speaker 1 (57:22):
Do is pick correctly once during the course of the
week by agreeing or disagreeing with the host and or
producer who makes the pick, and there If you're correct once,
you're automatically entered to win one thousand dollars weekly prize.
If you're correct multiple times, well then you have all
those chances to win one thousand dollars. The more you play,
the better chance you have to win one thousand dollars.
Anderson Hurst is going with Double Check his thing here.

(57:44):
He sent it back just to make sure we're all
on the same page. Anders is going against another show.

Speaker 2 (57:52):
I like that action. I like that action a lot.

Speaker 1 (57:55):
He is going with the Rams minus four and a
half at San Francisco. He's going against MJ in the midday,
who made the other pick on Monday, opice of that,
anders is going Rams minus four and a half at
San Francisco. Fact four nine four to five one. If
you disagree fiction four nine four or five one text

(58:16):
in right now fact or fiction. Anders is going Rams
minus four and a half at San Francisco.

Speaker 2 (58:23):
Fact if you disagree fiction four nine four or five
to one.

Speaker 1 (58:27):
Now, Niners did win the first meeting this year, but
you remember what happened in that game back on the
second of October. That was a forty nine Ers winning
in overtime twenty six to twenty three. They got the ball,
kicked the field goal in overtime, Rams get it back
and Kyran Williams got stuffed on fourth in inches and
also Kyrin Williams fumbled at the goal line earlier in
that game. Rams were a better team and they're a

(58:49):
better team right now. I like to pick, Anders, I
like to pick, And you're going head to head against
MJ in the midday. Bet it now, thank me later,
that's what he's saying. Better now, fake me later, and
Rams minus four and a half at San Francisco. Fact
four nine four or five one text.

Speaker 2 (59:06):
In right now.

Speaker 1 (59:07):
If you agree fact, if you disagree fiction. I was
trying to think this earlier. I think I think if
you're Seattle, you want the Rams. God, I think you
kind of want.

Speaker 2 (59:25):
The Rams to win. Can they both lose?

Speaker 7 (59:27):
A tie?

Speaker 2 (59:28):
Would be good, I would actually be good. That would
be good.

Speaker 1 (59:31):
And they were damn close to having that before they
would have kicked the field goal, and that other game
probably would have been in the tie. The yeah, because
that would put the brand, the Niners at six and four,
two games back in the lost column of Seattle, and
you still have two games against the Rams left, so
you can.

Speaker 2 (59:47):
Take care of business. So I think we're kind of rooting.

Speaker 1 (59:49):
If you're in Seattle, I think you're kind of rooting
for the Rams to win that game, which is then
you're rooting for Anders four nine four or five to
one fact or disagree fiction four nine four five one anyway,
text in right now again, thousand our week, we'd probab
ten thousand dollars grand prize for factor fiction texting right now,
Rams minus four and a half at the forty nine.

Speaker 2 (01:00:05):
Ers fact four nine four or five one?

Speaker 1 (01:00:08):
Okay, real quick, before we go, Dick's gonna join us
in just a couple of seconds. Seattle International Auto Show
presented by b ECU is back to number fourteenth through
the sixteenth and newest model from the world's best brand,
seem Touch and Driving, Bloomingfield Event Center, the Seattle International
Auto Show Discover you draw your drive for tickets Seattle
Auto Show dot Com. Dick Fane joins us next. All right,

(01:00:40):
Dick Fane, Is it the five twenty bar and grille
having a hot tottie or something to warm up on
this beautiful, gorgeous November day in Seattle?

Speaker 7 (01:00:48):
Huh?

Speaker 3 (01:00:49):
Nothing says beauty like Seattle in November.

Speaker 2 (01:00:51):
Oh, this is this is this is just like.

Speaker 3 (01:00:53):
This has been the worst.

Speaker 1 (01:00:55):
This is the stereotype right here, buddy, this is when
people can play like. This is the stereotype we could
tell And now listen, we're from what early June through
the end of October. We're past.

Speaker 3 (01:01:07):
Yeah, the best I think the best in I think
the best in the country.

Speaker 1 (01:01:10):
I would agree about three months, I would agree, But
then we get this. I'm not sure if there's enough
booze at the bar the five twenty to brighten your spirits.

Speaker 3 (01:01:19):
I was seeing it, you know, I was thinking about.

Speaker 15 (01:01:20):
I was thinking about our new our new storm head
coach right, yes, from the East coaches time in Memphis.

Speaker 3 (01:01:26):
And her name, tell me her name, Sonia Raman.

Speaker 2 (01:01:29):
Yes, break breaking down some barriers there you go.

Speaker 15 (01:01:31):
Absolutely first Indian head coach in the w NBA. And
I talked to her this morning. I talked to her yesterday
and I was just thinking, she got here on Monday.
Do you think she's gonna resign by this weekend? If
this continuous weatherwise? She's like, oh my god.

Speaker 2 (01:01:45):
Here's what I get in.

Speaker 1 (01:01:46):
Here's the worst part for for Sonia is that the
time of the year that's the best weather. She'll be
inside cle coaching exactly.

Speaker 3 (01:01:55):
She's going to be in the practice facility all day.
She's gonna be primate pledge all night.

Speaker 15 (01:01:59):
She is gonna be traveling to other cities that are
one hundred and four degrees in humid.

Speaker 1 (01:02:03):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm bad at this. You maybe you
can help me, because I know you've done this before.
Seahawks fans, who you're rooting for San Francisco and the
Rams on Sunday, I'm.

Speaker 15 (01:02:15):
Rooting definitely for San Francisco. You are, Yeah, I think
the Rams have more legs.

Speaker 3 (01:02:20):
Oh, San Francisco.

Speaker 2 (01:02:21):
Now I was leaning, I was leaning.

Speaker 1 (01:02:23):
I was leaning Rams actually because you still have two
games with them and control your own destiny. You've already
lost a game with the forty. I'd like to see
the forty nine is go away, Yeah, just go away.

Speaker 15 (01:02:31):
Hawks are minimum eleven and six, probably closer to twelve
and five, and I only think the Rams can get
there in this division. I don't think with all San
Francisco's injuries, I don't think. Now that being said, I
heard Anders's factor fiction pick yes, and I don't like it.

Speaker 3 (01:02:49):
I'm gonna give you a little stat here, give me
a stat, all right.

Speaker 15 (01:02:52):
Since twenty nineteen, San Francisco plays LA, they've done it
fourteen times. The underdog is thirteen and one against the spread,
and four and a half points is one of the
bigger spreads in that rivalry. So while I like, I
want San Francisco to win, and I like San Francisco

(01:03:15):
plus the points this week, I'm with MJ on this week.
It was actually one of those that I was actually
considering to MJ grabbed ah.

Speaker 1 (01:03:22):
Okay, okay, well, see, I was just gonna because I
want to see part because this is the same thing
we start, this is the same game.

Speaker 2 (01:03:30):
Everyone that's that's in the.

Speaker 1 (01:03:31):
College football playoff conversation can start playing is well, it's
just is just the schedule question, right? So like, so
San Francisco's got the Rams, then they've got the Cardinals, Panthers, Browns, Titans,
that's Uki, Colts, Bear, Seahawks.

Speaker 3 (01:03:51):
Yeah, they're gonna win twelve games.

Speaker 2 (01:03:53):
The forty nine ers.

Speaker 3 (01:03:54):
Oh you said that was the Ram. No, it's forty
nine forty hunderds. Okay, well the forty nine ers could
get to get to ten.

Speaker 2 (01:03:59):
They could we get to ten.

Speaker 1 (01:04:00):
I mean, the Browns are a win, Panthers Promethers is
at homes, so maybe a win Tennessee is a win.

Speaker 15 (01:04:07):
Do we really see three teams in this division at
eleven wins or more?

Speaker 11 (01:04:13):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (01:04:14):
Well, let's let's let's just do this. Let's go back
to to last season, shall we. And we had what
it was the NFC, well, the NFC North had. The
NFC North had fifteen to two, fourteen and three, and
eleven and six. So yes, it's very far happened. It's happened.
I mean it happened a year ago. It happened easily

(01:04:35):
a year ago. Last year was interesting, very top heavy
because Philadelphia Washington both get in fourteen and twelve wins respectively. Tampa,
I say, this has it sneaks in at ten and
seven because they win the division and the Rams win
the division ten like, so Seattle was the team left
on the outside looking in at ten and seven last year.

Speaker 3 (01:04:54):
Well, you raise a fair point with the schedule. I
had not.

Speaker 15 (01:04:56):
I had not looked at the Rams schedule versus the
forty nine ers schedule before you ask me that question.

Speaker 3 (01:05:02):
But I just think the Rams are a better football.

Speaker 2 (01:05:05):
No, I do too.

Speaker 15 (01:05:05):
I schedule, yeah, I mean that schedule evens things out
a lot. I mean, look at you know, one of
the reasons you go, guy, we love Sam Darnold. But
let's face it, one of the reasons they went fourteen
and three is because of who they played last year.

Speaker 1 (01:05:15):
Well, and that's like I was explaining that to my kid.
They were talking about, you know, just how the schedule works,
and I said, here's the thing, Like the forty nine
ers have a crappy year last year because they're all
banged up, and they benefit from it because then they
play bad teams.

Speaker 2 (01:05:26):
Yep, you know, and then when they start.

Speaker 1 (01:05:28):
The non divisional matchups that are out that you get
matched up with, you get some bad teams along the way,
and I think in this case, what it's Cleveland, right,
So they get Cleveland that helps them immensely. Chicago, I
think one of those teams too, Tennessee. Tennessee's part of
it though, where that's everyone's playing NF that's NFC West
against the AFC South. But yeah, you get the point,
like it's you start looking at schedules and when you

(01:05:50):
look at the schedule, it's like forty and I'll tell you,
I don't know, Dick, how they're doing it like they're
doing with smoking Mers in San Francisco.

Speaker 15 (01:05:58):
Which Jan's fantastic. I mean, he just really is well
astid coach. He hasn't been able to win the big one,
but he is. He takes every quarterback and turns them
into at least capable, if not more than capable. He's
doing it again with Mac Jones, and it seems like
you just keep taking players off his team and he
keeps giving you a ten wins season.

Speaker 1 (01:06:18):
Helps when you have the helps, when you have the
healthy joystick that is named Christian McCaffey.

Speaker 3 (01:06:22):
That's right. I mean, that's right, which and I'm surprised
he stayed healthy.

Speaker 15 (01:06:25):
I mean, of all the guys that if you'd have
told me San Francisco is gonna have a massive rash
of injuries all season long, first on my list would
have been Christian Maker.

Speaker 1 (01:06:33):
The last guy would have been Fred Warner for me,
because that guy just is a war beast. Yeah, exactly,
All right, what do you got coming up today?

Speaker 15 (01:06:39):
Ah Rick Neuheisel right around the corner at three twenty
and then coach Holmgren for a full hour in person
and living colorout this way, he's gonna make his way
that that beautiful you know, one mile commute that he has.

Speaker 1 (01:06:52):
As he looked outside yet has he confirmed as he
looked outside of.

Speaker 15 (01:06:55):
Yeah, he texted me about ten minutes ago. As of
ten minutes ago, he was still planning to show up.
I don't know if he's walked outside and seen what
the weather is, so you know, he might turn around
and say, no, I'm out, you know, like the groundhog.

Speaker 2 (01:07:06):
Yeah, I'm done, I'm out. I'm home. R And I'm
not doing this. This is nonsense. I'm not going.

Speaker 1 (01:07:11):
All right, have a good one. We got Thursday n
Football after that, coming up at five o'clock. Ye with
the our boy Pete and the and the Raiders yea yeah,
taking on the on the Denver Broncos.

Speaker 2 (01:07:22):
Have a good night, see thanks to man to see you.
