Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, welcome to the show, our guy Corbin Smisken
and join us talking all things Seahawks at one twenty today,
and yes, indeed it is the unofficial start of the weekend.
Our guy Brendan Funston will join us coming up at
two pm today four nine, four to five to one
on the still unrestricted free agent text line to get
your questions into Funston four nine four to five to one,
And of course phone calls are the best way to
(00:21):
get your questions answered again at two o six two
A six ninety five ninety five. You can start calling
in later in the hour. Don't call it now. We're
not going to answer your phone call now. Just relax.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
But hereas up twenty minutes.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
Usually that's about when I start to tolerate phone calls
coming in.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
Yeah, it's not quite, not quite at one oh five,
but two o'clock we'll have him on as well. All right,
So here's the thing. We got into this a little
bit yesterday, and I don't know, maybe I care more
than nothing of the average person. Andrews, you're a huge
baseball fan of the three of us, the biggest baseball
fan here on this. So the Major League Baseball came
(00:56):
out yesterday with its TV deal sort of and I
all time for a story. Here's what Marriner fans need
to know. Well, they didn't tell us anything, because here's
what the Mariners did send me thanks to my friend
Tim Heavily. Next year, Marriors games will be available through
MLB streaming platform and traditional TV providers, as announcedayed by
MLB and at ESPN. Fans may also have the option
(01:19):
to watch games via the ESPN app in the future.
We look ford to sharing additional information as details are
finalized this spring. So really we don't know what's going on.
And addition, like when it says traditional, that means basically
you're you know, like games on the ESPN, cable TV, yeah, NBC. Whatever.
Would be Joe she and our guy Joe Sheen and
we will get them on at some point next week
(01:39):
to talk about this. He wrote a story today. You
go to Joe Shean dot com. I will go read
it there and it goes through the entire process and
what's going on and what happened, and he gets pretty
deep into the weeds. But I thought this was an
interesting tidbit in there. Yankee fans, for example, we'll have
(02:01):
to search eight different options, including three streamers to find
their games next one eight eight eight eight. So here's
who's Here's who's airing Yankee games next season. The Yes
Network they still have an RSN, so the S Network,
(02:22):
Amazon Prime, Apple TV, ESPN, Netflix, the Nbcpacock, Fox, and TBS.
Those were just the Yankees. That's where their game is
going to be next season. Now, if you go through that,
I think you could probably take okay, you take yes
out of it, but there's in theory a chance that
a Mariner game could be on seven different options next season.
Speaker 4 (02:45):
Sure think about that. Yeah, right.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
So the long and the short of it from Joe
just a great story. He brought this up, and I'm
gonna ask you, guys a question. We're not going to
be able to get text in today, so I want
to get back and circle back to this next week
because we do fantasy today, so it's hard to get
to get actual things in there. But I'll ask you
to guys, Jes even though you do everything illegally, but it's.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
A great area Ian, it's a great.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
Nobody needs to know that they don't know where you live.
You're fine. Nevertheless, you know one of the things Joe
mentioned in there is that ESPN they sold MLB TV
or MLB sold MLB TV to ESPN. Yes, yeah, even
though ESPN was trying to get out of the baseball business.
(03:32):
But interesting, but there was The interesting part of it
is is MLB said, we still need to be part
of ESPN. At some point, as Joe pointed out, it's
going to roll into maybe not next year, but at
some point it's going to roll into a very similar
model that we have with the NHL, where you might
have a game here or there. Now, the NHL has
a deal where they have games of the week. It'sday
I believe it is Wednesday, and then Wednesday are the
(03:53):
tn T games if I'm not mistaken right, and so
they do have that deal going. But the NHL, basically
you can watch all the NHL games on the ESPN Plus. Okay,
so you can do that. I think at some point
you'll see a lot more of that with MLB, right
like it'll roll that into the ESPN Plus package. But
maybe not right away there Maybe you're gonna have to
pay extra. Here's a thing. What I just said, You're
going to have to pay extra, okay, real quick with
(04:16):
ESPN it's better. And the NHL knows this better than
anybody you know who also knows it because they're no
longer part of it is MLS. You want to be
a part of ESPN, even if you're just on the
ESPN plus app, even if you're just just give me something, ESPN,
give me some sort of relationship distance cousins, kind of
(04:38):
like the ugly step sister. Doesn't matter what it is,
just you need. Like the NHL got away from ESPN
for many years and it hurt them tremendously, and their
games aren't highly rated. Their National Games of the Week
aren't highly rated on ESPN necessarily, but they're still part
of the ESPN family. You can still find stuff on
the ESPN. It's whether we like it or not. They're
still the Juggernaut, there's still the five hundred pounderrella. You
(04:59):
want to be with them, period, end of story. MLB
understands that. That's why they sold MLBtv to ESPN, so
they're still part of the ESPN Disney family. You're never
going to be the NFL and you're never going to
be the NBA. In the eyes of Bristol, Connecticut, that's
just that's the reality. Of it, but you still want
to be a part of it. MLS, I'm talking to you.
That's what hurts you as much as anything. We start
coming out from behind the paywall, but that hurt you
(05:21):
tremendously not ever being part of them. So the question
is what would you pay? Because we were getting so
Andrews tells us last year one twenty right for if
you didn't have root. I had it rolled into my package,
so I had no idea it.
Speaker 5 (05:33):
Was twenty dollars per month, and then it just do
the math. That's six months, that's one hundred and twenty bucks.
Speaker 1 (05:39):
So we're the rumors are what we're hearing is it's
going to be right around one hundred and fifty a
year for Merria games. Would you pay that? It's twenty
five bucks a month? Twenty five bucks to me, that's fine.
I don't know what the drop dead number is. And
I'll ask you, Andrews first, what's your drop to I mean,
you're a baseball fan, You're probably going to pay whatever.
Speaker 5 (05:58):
Right, I kind of have to. I may my mirror's postcast,
I have to watch over game. So in terms of
just for me personally, and let's take my work out
of it. If I was just you know, wanting to
consume fan as a fan exactly, I'd probably put it
at forty to fifty bucks a month. I wouldn't pay
more than that. So it's it's quite a bit more,
(06:19):
honestly than what it is now. So I think the
one hundred and fifty dollars To answer your question, is
is more than worth it for me to get the
full season of stuff?
Speaker 1 (06:25):
Jess, what do you think.
Speaker 2 (06:26):
That's worth it for me? Honestly? A one hundred what's.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
The number that what's the number that makes you makes
you kind of like uneasy?
Speaker 6 (06:32):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (06:33):
Two hundred?
Speaker 3 (06:34):
That is where I would start to say, now I'm
going to consider that, is this really worth it?
Speaker 1 (06:40):
Right?
Speaker 2 (06:40):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (06:40):
So yeah, two hundred would be my that's the line
in the stand.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
I wouldn't be surprised if we get to that number
in a couple of years. I wouldn't either, honestly, And
I'm not saying just here. I think it's just because
of the model that's taking place. You still have Yes
network in New York you get Nessen and in Boston,
in the Boston area. You know, I think, what is
whatever the Dodgers Dodgers have a weird deal to what
they they have kind of a what's their strength? I
don't even know.
Speaker 4 (07:06):
But SNY is the Mets.
Speaker 1 (07:08):
Yeah, I mean there are some regional sports networks out
there still, but that's the problem is that those things
have gone away again. I'm sitting here at one that
I see people this it sucks. I'm spotting. Yeah, there's
people literally packing up boxes today, like at their cubicles.
It's awful. Like this is the the RSN model is.
I'm sitting in it right now today doing a show.
And what it is is it's it's no longer existent.
(07:30):
It just doesn't outside of those two or three massive
markets we talked about, it doesn't work anymore. It doesn't
make sense, it doesn't. It's it's out of business. And
so yeah, so we'll talk about this. Maybe we get
Joe on next week. So I think it's a fascinating
topic because I listen to the Mariners were bothered by
I bothered them too much. Tim, I love you man,
Thank you, appreciate you. I kept what the hell tell me?
They just don't know the exact specific yet. They just don't.
(07:52):
And it's interesting because they are going to be benefiting
from one thing. They're coming off a great year, coming
off a great year. So if you were coming off
a seventy wins season, be a hard sell. Oh yeah,
a hard sell. Oh yeah, right, it'd be a hard sell.
You're coming off of, you know, an ALCS appearance and
they just resigned Josh Naylor. Hell, this would be there.
You should charge two hundred bucks. Yeah, you could probably
(08:15):
this is either you could get two hundred bucks, no
doubt about it. Okay, we'll tell you break come back.
Lots to get to at the Seahawks. Huge weekend coming
up for them. Uh, it should be a relatively easy weekend,
but every weekend is huge from here on out because
you cannot afford to lose certain games. This would be
one of those. We'll talk to our guy, Corbyn Smith
from Emerald City Spectrum next.
Speaker 7 (08:37):
It's time to take a deep dive into all things
Seahawks with Corbyn Smith, sports reporter for Emerald City Spectrum.

dot Com. Now with Gorby Smith, here's.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
Ian We enjoy these conversations on Thursdays here at one
twenty in the afternoon during the NFL season, our chance
to catch up with Corbyn Smith Emerald City Spectrum. Of course,
all things Seahawks there, Hello, sir, how are you?
Speaker 8 (09:17):
I'm good, Thanks for having me as always.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
And I mentioned all things Seahawks, Emerald City Spectrum. It's
all things sports. As I look up here, I see Seahawks, Mariners,
Cracking Sounders, Storm Huskies, Cougar's, Gonzaga, Sea Wolf's Rain Torrent.
I mean, you got it all, buddy, You got it
all right up there.
Speaker 8 (09:34):
That's what we're trying to do. We're trying to live
up to the mission statement.
Speaker 1 (09:39):
We'll get to subscription information in a second at the
end when we're done. But let's uh, well, let's look
back and then we'll look ahead. Corbin looking back, you,
I mean, the game itself spoke volumes a lot of ways.
There's there's so many storylines. Obviously, Sam Darnold, the injury
to Gray's Abel that appears not to be significant. The
defense for Seattle stepping up in a big way. Back
(10:01):
and forth we went. Despite everything, you have a chance
to win at the end. Maybe some poor clock management
on that last drive, which Mike McDonald mentioned. I don't
know where we start, Corbyn. Your main takeaways from ram
Seahawks Part one.
Speaker 9 (10:14):
Well, my main takeaway is I don't expect to ever
see Sam Darnald play that bad again, and you lost
by two points.
Speaker 8 (10:20):
That's my main takeaway.
Speaker 9 (10:22):
I mean, the defense was absolutely fantastic, and Matthew Stafford,
I know he had two touchdown passes, but they held
into one hundred and thirty passing yards in this game,
and basically after the first quarter, with the exception of
another short field that they were handed on one of
those picks by Darnald. I mean, they just shut down
an offense that has been scoring at will on everybody.
(10:45):
So that defense looks every bit like a championship caliber group.
I thought Sam Donald made some really good throws light
in the game that helps Seattle have a chance to
win that one. Obviously the mistakes he made were killer,
but again, I don't see any way that he's going
to play that bad again, and you still had a
chance to win that football game.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
Did anything change with your opinion on either of those
two teams? And let me preface that by saying, I
went into it last week and talking to Greg Cosell, you, Hugh,
others we talked NFL with during the week. I thought
going into last week that these may be the two
best teams in the NFC, and maybe two of the
(11:27):
best three or four in the NFL as a whole.
I came out of that thinking the exact same thing,
even with that low scoring game. But did it change
anything for you in terms of how you perceived both
the Rams and or the Seahawks.
Speaker 9 (11:41):
No, it didn't because you saw and this is what
championship teams do.
Speaker 8 (11:45):
Championship teams find.
Speaker 9 (11:47):
A way to get close or find a way to
pull a game out, and the Seahawks did that. You
got to give the Rams credit for what they did defensively,
disguising coverages and catching Sam gardaloff guard. They got a
little more sure than other teams have been able to
get on him and that ended up making.
Speaker 8 (12:04):
Him pay for it a little bit.
Speaker 9 (12:05):
So I think you saw two complete teams. Both teams
had good running games at times in this one as well.
Speaker 8 (12:12):
I mean, I just think you.
Speaker 9 (12:13):
Saw the two most complete teams in the NFC, and
even though they got to that twenty one nineteen score
with some weird things going on, including the interceptions by Darnald,
you still saw so many things that tell you why
these teams were advertised the way they were going into
this first matchup.
Speaker 1 (12:32):
Corbyn, is it okay? Is it okay? Is it? Is
it legitimate to truly question Sam Darnald in big game
situations given what happened at the end of last season
and now really this first massive test this year.
Speaker 8 (12:46):
I don't even know if it's questioning him in big games.
Speaker 9 (12:49):
I think it's questioning him against Chris Shult that seems
to be the kryptonite for him.
Speaker 8 (12:55):
The last two years. I mean, there were some pretty
good teams that he put up big.
Speaker 9 (12:58):
Numbers against last year with Minnesota Vikings, and those two
games against the Rams just completely imploded what it had
been a totally changed narrative. So look, Klink, Kubiak and company,
they've got to do a few things to try to
help Sam Donald out in that regard. Looking back at
what the Rams have done to him in those three
matchups and I thought what they did late getting a
(13:21):
lot of the quick passing game, including the running backs
involved if you went Ken Walker to the third I
wrote an article about this yesterday.
Speaker 8 (13:27):
Ian if you want to get him.
Speaker 9 (13:28):
More carries, more touches, I don't necessarily think that getting
more in the run game is.
Speaker 8 (13:34):
Necessarily where you do that.
Speaker 9 (13:36):
He has got one of the highest epas per target
among running backs in the NFL. Get him in space
and those are most likely not going to be the
same wear and teared type of carries or touches that.
Speaker 8 (13:48):
You're going to get in the run games.
Speaker 9 (13:49):
So you can withstand some of the durability questions a
little better and still make him more of a weapon
getting him involved in passing him, and it felt like
the Rams were just giving them that. So things like
that that I think late in the game you saw
some adjustments that finally started to click, but it was
just a little too little, too late, and they couldn't
get that last field goal. So I don't even know
(14:10):
if it's a big game Sam thing. It's literally the Rams.
The Rams have been his kryptonite, so they got to
figure out how to try to help him out in
that regard.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
Let's talk Walker for a second, as you wrote in
your article, and we'll see Spectrum dot com Walker fourteen
passes caught this season. He had forty six last year.
He's well well well below that pace. But corbyin how
efficient is and I've man, I swear I watched these
games on Sunday and I'm thinking the same thing. I
(14:38):
can Ken Walker get the ball in his hands third down.
I know there's a blocking element to third down situations,
but if you're gonna throw a quick screen or something,
find the running back or even god forbid, runner wheel
route Sunday or something, Walker has to be your guy.
Speaker 8 (14:53):
Yeah, they've just got to get him more involved.
Speaker 9 (14:55):
That was the entire argument there, And I think Mike
McDonald kind of looking at the answer game. But Monday,
I think a lot of people looked into that, Oh
there's gonna be a change of the guard in the
backfield in terms of carries.
Speaker 8 (15:06):
I don't necessarily expect that that is gonna change.
Speaker 9 (15:09):
Charbonay has been very effective in the red zone, so
I don't think you're gonna see a big shift in
that regard. But I think Mike McDonald, you look at
the middle of his response was talking about the passing game.
Speaker 8 (15:19):
He understands how.
Speaker 9 (15:21):
Valuable it is to have a guy like Ken Walker
who can make a guy miss in space and then
take it to the house and think about the Shanahan
style offense over the years, even though one in San Francisco,
how much they use Christian McCaffrey in the passing game.
Mike Shanahan used the Broncos running backs a lot back
in the day in the passing game. Even Sean mcvay's version,
(15:41):
they throw the ball quite a bit to Kyron Williams.
This has been one thing that I think has been
missing for Clint Kopiak in this offense that.
Speaker 8 (15:48):
They need to get back to a little bit.
Speaker 9 (15:50):
And it just puts a lot more stress on the
defense when you have a running back that can create
major mismatch issues like that one on one against linebackers
and safeties.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
So just to make you miss is one thing, But
maybe go deeper into tell explain the explosive runs and
what we need and how much better Walker is at that. Well.
Speaker 9 (16:11):
I think a lot of it is just a quick
twitch I mean is that sharbona ran in the four
to four, So it's not like Sharbon a is a
slouch for an athlete, but he doesn't have the ability
to go from neutral into full acceleration the way that
ken Walker Third has. And that's probably what's been most
frustrating about some of the vision stuff and not reading
(16:32):
things correctly and being two bounds happy. Because ken Walker
is one of those very rare running backs that he
can make that one cut in a dime and take
off and outrun everybody. There's just not very many guys
in the league, against the athletes you're playing on.
Speaker 8 (16:46):
Defense, that can do that.
Speaker 9 (16:48):
That's not to say that Sharbone again, he's not a
slouch as an athlete, but he is not gonna be
able to kick it up to the same year, and
he's not gonna be able to do it as quickly
as what ken Walker the Third can.
Speaker 8 (16:58):
Honestly, there might be four or five running.
Speaker 9 (17:00):
Backs in the league that have that type of gear,
and that's why it's been frustrating at times.
Speaker 8 (17:05):
They haven't been able to fully unlock him since his
rookie year.
Speaker 9 (17:08):
But I think using him in the passing game more
is a way that you can generate more of those
potential explosives while also not risking giving him too many
carries and getting him beat up.
Speaker 8 (17:18):
Which has been an issue in recent years.
Speaker 1 (17:20):
It is corporusmith Neralcy Spectrum joining Us. Brought to you
by Sold by Jim, Sold by Jim to MS dot
com real estate agent. You're looking to buy or sells
sold by Jim dot com, go check it out right now.
He'll hook you up whether you're buying or selling a
house in the Greater Seattle area sold by Jim to
MS dot com. Corbyn the running or the line situation,
it could have been worse. Gray's abel is not season ending.
(17:44):
I'm guessing we won't see him this week buying d
NP yesterday. But let's let's look ahead a little bit.
Christian Haines came in and played left guard. They have
a right guard problem. Still. They can't fix it this
week because Haynes is probably gonna play left guard. Do
you see a sending in which Christian Haynes, even though
he didn't quote win the job in training camp, can
(18:04):
go back and find his way into the starting lineup
over Anthony Bradford.
Speaker 9 (18:10):
I know that fans are not gonna like Some fans
are not gonna like this answer.
Speaker 8 (18:14):
I don't see that happening.
Speaker 9 (18:16):
Unless Bradford just completely implode and Haines comes in and
looks like a pro bowler out there, I think it
would have to be something that stark, because I think
this team, it's been pretty evident so far, they want continuity.
They want the same group out there, even if there's
I mean, every offensive line's got a weakest link, and
(18:38):
you're just hoping that that weakest link is not one
that's gonna drag down your offense, which they've been able
to survive even with some of the issues that Bradford's had.
So if Haines goes out and plays really well for
a game or two in Zabel's plays and Bradford continues
to struggle, then maybe that discussion opens up. But it
just seems like Mike McDonald and John Benton and company
there they're not necessarily wanting to at this stage of
(19:01):
the season, just starting mixing and matching guys in the
offensive line.
Speaker 8 (19:05):
They view the chemistry thing is more important right now.
Speaker 1 (19:08):
Cormack, how can they use Rashid Shiheed more?
Speaker 8 (19:12):
Just get the ball into his hands when he's open.
Speaker 9 (19:15):
I mean, I don't want to, I don't want to
sound like I'm oversimplifying things. But I posted the throw
that he that Sam Donald made to him on that
deep ball the right end zone. That ball Donald completes
nine out of ten times, but for whatever reason in
that game, he just wasn't. The balls that field just
were not slinging out of the tand the way they
normally do, and he wasn't getting the air underneath them.
(19:37):
So he saw some glimpses. They got a twenty one
yard pass to him. They're trying to get him involved
in the run game. It feels like that is something
that you just get another game or two here where
Sam Donald can really build that chemistry with him.
Speaker 8 (19:50):
Gotta remember there, they're getting to know each other in the.
Speaker 9 (19:52):
Middle of the season, that he's gonna get used to
the speed and he's gonna be able to hit this
receiver and stride. So I don't even necessarily think it's
issue of how they're trying to get him involved and
things like that. It's just they just got to be
more efficient and that connection's got to continue developing so
that when they do take those shots, they start to
land at his hands and not get knocked away because
they're thrown.
Speaker 8 (20:12):
Short of the target.
Speaker 1 (20:15):
This week, Tennessee is on the horizon a one win
Tennessee team. Quick glance here offensively, total yards per game,
thirty second, total yards per play thirty first rushing yards
thirty second rushing yards per play, twenty six, passing yards
thirty passing yards per play thirty one. I think people
(20:35):
get get my point there. Offensively not a good football team.
Let's take a look at their defense Corbin and some
of the rankings there. Yeah, twenty four, twenty six, twenty six,
twenty four, twenty seven to twenty three. Oh, they're a
little bit better on defensively because they're not dead last
and everything. This sometimes are the games that feel like
trap games. This honestly doesn't or does it. Is there
(20:57):
a potential for Tennessee to cause some problem this week?
Speaker 9 (21:01):
I think any given Sunday, I mean, I know that
may sound cliche, but we've seen some big upsets this
year where teams have been able to knock teams off,
and Tennessee I think has two things.
Speaker 8 (21:13):
That could potentially work for them.
Speaker 9 (21:15):
The first one is, especially if grays Abels out playing
this game, you've got Jeffrey Simmons, who I think is
a top three, top four defensive tackle in the National
Football League. Devandre Sweat is a good young player that's
next to him. They've got a couple other reserve dts
that can cause some problems too. Their interior d line
could make things tough long Seattle's offense. If the Seahawks
(21:37):
are not able to weather the storm with the injuries.
They've got it guard and center right now, So that
is the first thing that could maybe be an equalizer.
And the second thing is the improvisation skills for cam
Ward now hasn't really worked out for him this year,
in part because they've had so many injuries, they've had
coaching turnover. But you've seen cam Ward play and you
know what he's capable of doing as far as getting
(21:58):
out of the pocket or stepping up in the extending plays.
And they've got a couple decent tight ends, which the
Seahawks have occasionally had issues defending this year. So those
are the two things that would tell me that maybe
Tennessee if they are able to get enough protection and
cam work and hit on a few plays where he's
extending things and the tight ends are a problem, they
(22:18):
could hang around, especially if on defense the Seahawks are
having a hard time blocking the defensive interior, and Jeffrey
Simmons and company are messing up the game plan. Otherwise,
Seattle should be able to win this one comfortably because
this is a team that's got a lot of injury issues.
Speaker 8 (22:34):
They're playing fourth and fifth string.
Speaker 9 (22:36):
Quarterbacks, they're receivers, they're playing practice squad guys.
Speaker 8 (22:39):
Calvin Ridley's nowt out for the season.
Speaker 9 (22:41):
I mean they this team is decimated and they didn't
have much talent to begin with.
Speaker 10 (22:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (22:46):
I just think this is a game you got to
put away early, you know, like it just get it
done with.
Speaker 8 (22:50):
You squashed the bogg in.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
Yeah, just be done with it and you know, write
some ills from last week and then maybe rest a
few guys if you can. I know it's hard with
the fifty three man roster and game deactivations and all
those things, but I just just get out of this one.
I quick fought for me before I wrap it up.
Corbyn big game as well this week in the National
Football League on Sunday Night Football, because the Seahawks will
(23:15):
be glancing at this one as the flying back home
or landing in Seattle Buccaneers and Rams on Sunday Night
big game there. Bucks have not looked like the same
team that we saw in Seattle Rams coming off that
big win. But boy, if you're a Seattle fan, a
big you're rooting hard for the Buccaneers on Sunday.
Speaker 9 (23:31):
And the Bucks, I mean, I'm not gonna say that
it's desperation time, but the Carolina Panthers are hovering right
behind them now in the NFC South because they've lost their.
Speaker 8 (23:41):
Last two games.
Speaker 9 (23:43):
They desperately need a big win, not just to stay
in the running for one of the top seeds, but
to try to fend off Carolina and the Panthers. They
seem like they're kind of one of those teams that's
descending a little bit here right now. So look, the
Rams are not going to be sleeping on these guys,
especially lacause Baker Mayfield has played some great games against
them in the past. But yeah, Seahawk fans should be
(24:06):
absolutely rooting for the Bucks relentlessly to.
Speaker 8 (24:11):
Win this game.
Speaker 9 (24:11):
And you know, Buck fans are going to be desperate
for that win because it's been a few weeks since
they were on the right end on the scoreboard.
Speaker 1 (24:17):
Yeah, they're and if they lose that game, just based
on the tiebreakers, they would actually only be tied at
six and five. Caroline off with the bye, I believe,
but they also have the issue with the with the
conference record in Tampa or Carolina is better off there too,
So we'll see what happens big game Sunday night. Corma
tell people about Emerald City Spectrum.
Speaker 9 (24:36):
Yeah, you could subscribe at Emerald Cityspectrum dot com just
six dollars a month or sixty dollars for an annual subscription,
a little cheaper per month.
Speaker 8 (24:45):
Doing that, and we've got an extra team. Now we're

Perfect. Thanks buddy, we'll talk to you. We won't talk
to you next week because is Thanksgiving. We'll talk to
you in two weeks. How's that sounds good?
Speaker 8 (25:06):
Yeah, you enjoy your turkey.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
I will do that for sure, trust me. That and
some wine and some other things. So thank you very much.
We'll talk about it in a couple of weeks. Take care,
but this sounds good. Take care man, That is our friend.
Corbin Smith joining us here on the Beacon Plumbing Hotline.
All right, I'm gonna take care a little bit of
business here before we get to a break with things today.
Let's tell you first about our tailgates and touchdowns. We're
(25:31):
giving away a sixty five inch television set courtesy of
Tito's handmade vodka. Did you know that, Andrews? Did you
know that we're doing that? Buddy? I did, actually, and
I would tell you more about it, except for my
computer just froze.
Speaker 2 (25:44):
Well, I have all the information right in front of me.
If you need a little more.
Speaker 1 (25:48):
I would. Actually, what I'd love is for you to
tell me what the keyword is this hour?
Speaker 3 (25:51):
Oh the keyword now, that is actually what you have
to enter on our talkback.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
Talk about you while you look for it, since we're
a well oiled machine right now.
Speaker 3 (26:02):
Yeah, yes, and I will have that for you very shortly.
Speaker 1 (26:07):
Here's what you do. You go to the iHeartRadio app,
and when you go to the iHeartRadio app, you go
to the red microphone and then you will speak the
word the keyword, which just will give you what is
it today today?
Speaker 3 (26:19):
It is listen, listen, it is your one o'clock hour
key word, another one being given at four o'clock.
Speaker 1 (26:25):
All right, speak into the microphone boom, listen, not listen,
don't just speak in to say listen, or as Lloyd
mcclennan used to say, listen listen to the iHeartRadio Apple
Little Red Microphone fire away, all brought to you by
Tito's handmade vodka. All right, can we do that? Yes,
we can, perfectly done. Big thanks to Tito's Samsung television.
(26:47):
We're given away. It's big, it's huge, sixty five inches
and away you go. All right, one other piece of
nose of news. So I gotta tell you about this.

All right, David Power played back to my friends at
Issa Kauahonda Caboda just drove by there today, Jess, you
know where it's at.
Speaker 2 (28:15):
I have been there, very conveniently located.
Speaker 1 (28:18):

if you're thinking of where this, we're in Issaquad. If
you take that first exit, I ninety head in east

a good place to swing by it in the holidays too.
They got all kinds of gadgets.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
Oh, that's a good call.
Speaker 1 (28:48):
Like little chainsaws, big chain saws, big stuff, little stuff,
all those things. Big thanks. Its quah Okay Cracking tonight
continue a four game road trip there in Chicago to
take on the Blackhawks. Uh Cracking beat the black Hawks
here a couple of weeks ago in Seattle, three to one.
Andre Berkowski the only goal for the Blackhawks, and that
game the former Seattle Cracking Chicago won a little bit
(29:09):
of a heater Right now, Anders not liking this at all.
They are playing good hockey. First six game point streak
that the Blackhawks have had since two thoy and nineteen,
they're five oh and one in the last six games,
like the heyday almost right, kind of the end of
the hate, kind of the end of the heyday basically
(29:29):
is what that was. They've got points in fourteen of
their last eighteen games as well. They're ten four and
four in that stretch man. Yeah, yeah, yeah, they're They're
right up there in terms of the least goals against
in the league. They're forty eight, which is number four
in the league.
Speaker 4 (29:44):
I think they're up there for goals four as well.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
They are, they are. It's a little bit of a
little bit of a scary game tonight. This team is
playing better hockey than we saw them last a couple
of weeks ago. Seattle. You know what they always stay
in football, what it's about offense, defense.
Speaker 4 (30:01):
And special special teams.
Speaker 1 (30:05):
The same could be said in hockey, people, Yeah, same
could be said in hockey and special teams. That Blackhawks
are doing quite well as of lately. This is a
crazy little tidbit for you. I don't like it, but
I'm gonna give it to you anyway. The Blackhawks are
one of three teams where Seattle has never scored a
power play goal on the road, oh for sixteen in
(30:28):
their all their trips to the United Center. They're three
and three. So this will be trip number seven to
the United Center in Chicago. In those previous six games,
Seattle oh for sixteen on the power play in that building.
Ooh oh for sixteen in that build. Now listen, player
to change units, change coaching changes. But the Blackhawks have
(30:52):
killed seventeen of the last eighteen power plays against, so
there's a lot of numbers that just don't sound good
for them.
Speaker 4 (30:58):
Law of averages, the ind of something got to give
at some point, right, and that.
Speaker 1 (31:02):
Is what I was getting to. Indeed, this thing can change.
Flip of the switch, snapping the fingers, just like that.
We'll switch things up. So we'll see what happens tonight.
Bent will have all those numbers for you too. He'll
just he'll nerd you out starting at four thirty tonight.

Speaker 11 (31:44):
I'm middling for me.

we're gonna be able to do that with the two

have a show a week from today. Why because a
week from today we are stuff in our faces and
(32:30):
ye over indulging in Thanksgiving. And then we're off on
Black Friday as well because there's an NFL game on,

announced today and the good news there is no more paywall.
Please not to my apple. That's good news. Well, here
we are two o'clock straight up on a Thursday, a
week from Thanksgiving, and you know what that means, the
unofficial start of the weekend. Funston, how are you, sir?
Speaker 11 (34:24):
I'm doing good man. It's now time. It's about for
a lot of leagues. About three chances left to secure
your fantasy post season spot. So's it's time to kick
it into high gear.
Speaker 5 (34:35):
Hey, Ian, I have a quick question before we get
into the calls and stuff. I know injuries have been very,
very rough for a lot of people this year. But
if anyone has worse injury luck than me, I just
want to know because San Francisco forty let me just yeah,
besides the actual team, the forty nine ers, Yes, let
me just list off who I have had on my
(34:56):
team that has been a big impact player that I
don't no longer due to injury. Uh, Molik Neighbors, Cam Skataboo,
Tucker Craft, Joe Burrow.
Speaker 4 (35:06):
Hey maybe he's back this weekend.
Speaker 5 (35:08):
Yeah, and uh, just for good measure, I had Michael
Pennix on my bench. So yeah, anyone who has worse
injury luck, please let us know.
Speaker 11 (35:15):
And how how have you scrapped your way uh into contention?
Speaker 5 (35:18):
Uh it happened, not really, Unfortunately, I'm like three and seven.
Speaker 4 (35:23):
I think, okay, yeah, actually yeah.
Speaker 1 (35:25):
I think that's my record. The Uh yeah, that's that's
not good and real quick fund So before we get
to the phone calls, Uh, if you have been stashing
one Joe Mixon on your bench all year, I guess
you can go ahead and go ahead and drop him. Right,
he's done for the season, I heard today.
Speaker 11 (35:41):
Yeah, I mean that's kind of been like the whispered thought,
you know, the prevailing wisdom was, Oh, sure, yeah, maybe
I'll come back, but unlikely. So yeah, it's Woody Marks
season now in Houston.
Speaker 1 (35:53):
All right, here we go, phone calls two six two,
A six ninety five, ninety five is always there, jammed.
We'll try to squeeze some more in after our first
little cycle. Here we go. Yeah, we'll starting Evans. Mike
and Evans. How are you, Michael, How are you? Yeah,
I'm here, hey buddy.
Speaker 12 (36:18):
So first off, happy, Thanks you Ivan. Hope it goes
well next week for everybody.
Speaker 1 (36:22):
Thank you.
Speaker 13 (36:23):
Mike full ppr Uh need either Diggs or Judkins, and
I need either Goddard or Kelsey, thank you.
Speaker 1 (36:37):
Thank you.
Speaker 11 (36:39):
I'm gonna go with Diggs. It's at Cincinnati, and that's
just a great matchup that that game has a fifty
one and a half over under total, so it's the
highest on the board for expected points this week. And
the other one was Goddar and who was, Yeah, I'm
gonna go Kelsey. You look at Dallas. They put a
lot of pressure on the quarterback. When that happens, that
(37:00):
usually helps out DeVonta Smith and A. J.
Speaker 1 (37:02):
Brown are not so much Dallas, godd Her Andrews I
need you to punch up the two five three area code.
It's the all American city next to the Tacoma Dome. There.
It is ladies and gentlemen, the Aroma of Tacoma. Rickey
and Tacoma's calling. What's up?
Speaker 12 (37:16):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (37:17):
All American Ricky Flair here, Okay, I've got fat or
parallel receivers, Travis Hunter or Martin Harrison and Gary Wilson.
Speaker 10 (37:24):
Oh, I forgot.
Speaker 8 (37:30):
Slop here.
Speaker 1 (37:31):
It's hard to remember all these names.
Speaker 6 (37:32):
Yeah right, but I got half Yeah, I got half
point PPR here. I got one spot because I swooped
up all the wave wire wide receiver fodder, so I
got see, I got Colson Loveland, Blake Kawhum Kelta Johnson
and what's the other Tampa Bay Risade White. So I
got those four me the best one. And my friends
(37:55):
in my league are listening to it's laughing right now.
Speaker 11 (37:57):
Probably yeah, half p p R.
Speaker 10 (38:01):
I'm gonna.
Speaker 11 (38:02):
I'm gonna go back to test Johnson. It wasn't great
last week, but yeah, thanks that sug.
Speaker 5 (38:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (38:06):
I know I hate to remind people of my but
I feel the best about him still. Rashad White, seeing
we're seeing that little change to Sean Tucker. There maybe
a late chance Bucky Irving could play, but I don't
think so. But Sean Tucker has kind of taken over
control of that backfield a bit.
Speaker 1 (38:23):
Hey, Ricky, Yeah, Ricky, Ricky, thanks for the call. Happy
Thanksgiving and shout out to all the guys in Ricky's
league who are listening right now. And you guys can
feel free to call it as well. Appreciate you all right, Tess,
Ricky and Tacoma. Well, there's been a really uplifting segment
so far with fantasy football. Uh so let's just keep
that one going. Hi. Robin Bury, and how are you doing? Rob?
Speaker 4 (38:46):
This is the best thing ever?
Speaker 10 (38:48):
Wow, it's Robert.
Speaker 1 (38:53):
Are you actually in playoff contention?
Speaker 8 (39:00):
Not in last place?
Speaker 1 (39:01):
Okaya? Oh god, okay, what you got Rob?
Speaker 14 (39:10):
Okay?
Speaker 12 (39:10):
Do I go back with Sammy or do I go
with Dak again? Yeah?
Speaker 11 (39:14):
I have It's funny I have them back to back,
Dak ahead of Sam though. So Tennessee has been, you know,
adjusted points allowed, actually a pretty good secondary. So uh,
I'm gonna go with with Dak Prescott.
Speaker 1 (39:28):
Okay. Oh, thanks Rob. That scared me for a second.
Fundston when he was all happy and giddy, but then
he's just all he's happy about is not getting whatever
the last place punishment is right now apparently, so all
is right in the world. All is right in the world.
Let's stay in Bury and Chris and Bury, and you're
up next with Funston.
Speaker 15 (39:46):
Good afternoon, gentlemen and anders. If you want to just
delete my number after this, I'd like to remind you
that Christian McCaffrey hasn't missed the game this year.
Speaker 4 (39:55):
Oh yeah, thanks, thanks.
Speaker 15 (40:01):
So I am down at tight ends, but I still
have Ferguson. Should I go with Ferguson or Colston Loveland?
Speaker 11 (40:09):
I have Ferguson ranked higher. Philadelphia is one of the
toughest against the tight ends, but I still like Ferguson
in that role. Dallas will throw a decent amount, didn't
you know? Three four catches all you need sometimes form
a tight and I feel better about Ferguson than Loveland.
Speaker 1 (40:24):
All right, perfect, Thanks Chris. That opens up a line
two O six two A six ninety five ninety five.
You can jump on that right now. As always, we
do the two step. The Sultan two step will start
first with Derek insultant Derek you're up next.
Speaker 16 (40:39):
Up, guys, I'm not the only one who gets worried
when Rob is in a good mood.
Speaker 1 (40:44):
No, it's terrifying, really, it doesn't. It makes us all
feel really uneasy. We're not comfortable with it, and it's
it's kind of, frankly, a little bit a little bit scary.
But you know, at least at least he's as funds
and fire away. Are you being playoff contention? Oh? Hell no, okay,
it's always right. Make me feel way better what you
(41:04):
got there.
Speaker 16 (41:06):
I need two of these four and at least one
of them has to be a running back between Swift,
Canine Dobbs and Watson Christian Watson.
Speaker 1 (41:16):
Okay, can they both be running backs?
Speaker 11 (41:18):
Because if that's the case, I would I would definitely,
uh yeah, I would lean in that direction. If you know,
Watson's third there, Dobbs as a risk injury. Watson's been
pretty good over the last three weeks, but I would
definitely want the touches and in overall, good matchup for Walker,
not a great matchup for Swift, but Swift's been pretty
good regardless of the matchup. So give me those two,
(41:39):
all right, thanks, Terry. They got to go back to
Swift after what happened last week? Don't they like that
was just weird? All that play calling with Dan Campbell? Fun,
Yeah that was odd? Well yeah, Dan Campbell, you mean
the Lions?
Speaker 1 (41:51):
Yeah, yeah, obviously a different Swift, but yeah, yeah, I
mean that's just that that was just an absolute gong
show of a game. Yeah, absolutely, Steven insulted. Next up,
what's up, Steven?
Speaker 17 (42:03):
My injury list pis all your guys is? I have Daniels, Reports, Stroud, Evans, Hunter,
and Hampton.
Speaker 8 (42:09):
All on my ir and bench.
Speaker 10 (42:11):
Love it.
Speaker 11 (42:15):
You made this counseling session here of injuries.
Speaker 1 (42:18):
That's kind of what it's just started into today. I
feel you. What do you got, Steve?
Speaker 17 (42:22):
I have trade and a quick question for you. My
trade is in my Dynasty Super Flex League. I am
in ninth place, so pretty much I'm out of the playoffs.
I have Burrows that's gonna be coming back, but I'm
gonna I'm looking to trade Mayfield. I got offered the
guys first and second overall pick firm which Mayfield was
my bench quarterback to start the season anyways, And then
(42:43):
for the next two weeks, would you go with either
Dart or Mayfield in my other league and things like
all these guys and have great holidays, thank you.
Speaker 11 (42:51):
Yeah, definitely, we'll see if Dar ends up playing. He's
sort of limited practicing this week, so you're gonna end
up probably most likely having to go with Mayfield this week.
Love to you know, when Dart does come back, there's
a lot of talk about whether he's gonna runs with
the reckless abandon he did under Brian day Ball. So
we'll be se I would you know for the the
following week, if Dart is finally out there, I'd probably
(43:13):
still go to Mayfield just to wait and see. You know,
you can't guarantee it's gonna be running like that. And
that was more than half of his fantasy points was
on the ground, so if he takes some of that away,
he can drop down considerably on the fantasy rankings. As
far as your dynasty, So Jackson Dart is your second quarterback,
you know, if you're not gonna if you're not gonna
(43:35):
make the playoffs, first and the second for Mayfield seems
pretty fair. Hopefully the guy doesn't win the championship into
the last pick in the first round, but you know,
I think that's a fair offer for Mayfield.
Speaker 1 (43:45):
All right, there we go, all right? Uh co no, sorry,
Charlie in this squally, Charlie in this squally calling in Hi.
Speaker 14 (43:51):
Charlie, Hey, how's it going, mat say?
Speaker 8 (43:54):
Thanks?
Speaker 14 (43:54):
Yeah, I'm bearing to hanging all with all these injuries
as well. I mean, one quarterback and one tight end
out of these choices, the quarterbacks are JJ McCarthy versus Flocko.
Speaker 11 (44:05):
And let me just answer that really quickly. I'll just
tell you I go Flaco. The only thing that would
change that is Flocko might end up not playing. Joe
Burrow practiced in full and was practicing with the ones today,
so things are trending towards Burrow potentially making a comeback
this week. But if he does that, then you'd have
(44:26):
to go with McCarthy. Okay, perfect, one second, one yep.
Speaker 14 (44:30):
Tight ends Hunter Henry versus Juan Johnson.
Speaker 11 (44:33):
Yeah, definitely Hunter Henry Cincinnati gives up way more fancy
points to the tight end position than anybody else. They
are by far the worst, and so it's just as
good a matchup as you could ask for Henry for Henry,
All right, perfect.
Speaker 1 (44:48):
Thank you, I thank you. Charlie's got a couple more
in before we go to the text line. We did
have one bulls eye today, by the way, one absolute
poo bullseye on there. Kyle is in the claw down
there in beautiful enam scratch. What's going on? Kyle?
Speaker 6 (45:01):
What's up guys to Thanksgiving?
Speaker 14 (45:03):
For you guys next week?
Speaker 12 (45:05):
You just a quick question?
Speaker 13 (45:08):
Uh, I need a flex and I'm I'm going between
MANANDAI and but for our boot.
Speaker 11 (45:19):
Yeah yeah, for for for New England. I do like him,
he's been out a little bit. I would probably, I
would probably lean his direction. Ultimately, pretty good, pretty good
matchup in Cincinnati. I've already talked about that one being
the highest thing on the board, so I would go.
But you just want to make sure. You just want
to make sure he ends up playing since he's been
(45:41):
a little bit of a health concern. But I think
he's gonna be okay, perfect.
Speaker 12 (45:45):
Rank you guys.
Speaker 1 (45:46):
Thanks Kyle. Appreciate last phone call before we get to
all the texts, that'd be Keith in Olympia. You get
the last call today. What's up Keith?
Speaker 12 (45:52):
Yeah? Great? Hey, PPR League. I need to pick two
flex spots from these four. Emmanuel Wilson Kareem Hunt, Kenneth
Gainwell for Michael Wilson's.
Speaker 11 (46:04):
Yeah, I'll tell you what. I'm going to go with
the Wilson with the Wilson twins there, Manuel Wilson and
Michael Wilson triplets.
Speaker 1 (46:12):
Yeah, yeah, Wilson too.
Speaker 11 (46:18):
Yeah, watch out for Jack Josh Jacobs. You got to
follow that one. Let's just say that Josh Jacobs ends
up playing, then you just plug in Cream Hunt instead
of Emmanuel Wilson.
Speaker 12 (46:27):
Okay, then hey, do I do Hurts your Mahomes for quarterbacks?
Speaker 11 (46:30):
I have Hurts like two spots ahead of Mahomes, so
they're both top five ish for me this week.
Speaker 1 (46:36):
All right, beautiful, thank you sir, appreciate it. Let's get
to the text. Four nine four five one. I'll get
the early ones, Andrews you can get the late ones.
I got a bullseye. Andrews will get a couple of
those late ones in. But we we work from the
bottom up. Bullseye right at one o'clock zero zero zero zero,
need to please full PPR. Nico Collins, Christian Watson's, Devon Diggs,
(47:00):
Michael Wilson or Teed McMillan needs two of those in
a full PPR.
Speaker 11 (47:04):
Man, I love three of those receivers. Definitely Nico and
I'm gonna go with I think I heard Digs. I'm
gonna go Digs over Tet McMillan, but they're back to back. Yeah,
give me Digs and Collins be tough to sit. McMillan, though,
this is an interesting one, especially after last week.
Speaker 1 (47:21):
Do I dare take out Josh Allen for Drake May
in a better matchup?
Speaker 11 (47:27):
Drake May is my number one quarterback this week. I
dropped Josh Allen Allen's number four, But man, I don't
know why you're even sitting in that position. One of
those guys should have been gone a while ago, because
you just can't make the Drake Mayber's the Josh Allen decision.
Every week that's gonna come, especially after Josh Allen came
off one of the greatest Fantasy QB efforts of all time.
Speaker 1 (47:47):
And he didn't mention it. Yeah, he only had sixty points,
especially like it's not a super flex league, Like if
you had super Flex, I'm like, okay, you know, a
good job. Yeah, that's doesn't He didn't he mentioned he
would mention another quarterback. You did half point PPR. We're
two seconds after the hour. Now, God, come on, people
will be better. Two seconds after half point PPR sit
one Gainwell Chooting Ramande thanks as always, he needs sit
(48:11):
one of those.
Speaker 11 (48:13):
I'm gonna go ahead and and sit tootin. It's close, Gainer.
I think Jaylon Warren is gonna play, and that that
has me thinking between Gainwell and Twoton's. If Warren doesn't play,
then you're definitely playing Gainwell.
Speaker 1 (48:27):
But I I'm.
Speaker 11 (48:28):
Gonna sit Tooting at this point.
Speaker 1 (48:30):
Okay, half point PPR need one wide receiver, one running back,
one flex Travon Walker, Travian Walker, Donsay, Jamison Diggs. Need
one wide receiver, one running back for a Flecker Donsay.
Speaker 11 (48:45):
I'm throwing off Dunsay, Diggs, Kenneth Walker.
Speaker 1 (48:50):
So it's I think that point, yeah.
Speaker 11 (48:53):
Henderson, Kenneth Walker, Roma, Duna Stefan.
Speaker 1 (48:57):
So he needs one running back and one running back,
one running back, one wider. Won flext me that one, two, three,
four five, you get rid of one of those guys, Okay,
getting rid of one of them.
Speaker 11 (49:05):
We're getting rid of We're getting rid of Kanain And
hate to say it, don't know this week, but Trevion
is the number two running back over the last three weeks,
and he's probably still gonna have a huge role against
Cincinnati this week, even with Ramondre Stevenson likely back.
Speaker 1 (49:17):
Jamie from Allen over there hanging out in Chris Crawford
Country for the flex. Need one Woody Marks, Breese Hall,
Christian Watson or Justin Jefferson.
Speaker 10 (49:26):
Just one.
Speaker 11 (49:27):
I'm gonna lean. I'm gonna lean Breece Hall. I want
to say Justin Jefferson, but man, JJ McCarthy has been rough.
Speaker 1 (49:34):
Because Jamie says, I know, but JJ to JJ has
not been a thing. So yeah, he was kind of
thinking you were gonna say that. Need a quarterback full PPR.
I'm on the struggle bus this week. Who isn't Tyler
Shuck Young, Lawrence Burrow? Need one full point PPR.
Speaker 11 (49:51):
For Joe Burrow plays I'm playing Joe Burrow. If he doesn't,
who do you go with? Yeah, I'm gonna go with
Trevor Lawrence, but yeah, Bryce Young, then Bryce Young, then
Tyler Shucks. So they're all kind of lumped together, the
Lawrence through Shuck.
Speaker 1 (50:03):
But yeah, yeah, yeah, I need to please full PPR.
Nico Collins Christian Watson, Stefan Diggs, Michael Wilson, or I
think we already answered that. Yeah, I think we had
that one ones guys, Uh, nine seconds after I have two.
If you can't full PPR Golf or love.
Speaker 11 (50:21):
I love Jared Goff this week against the Giants, I
have him one fifth.
Speaker 1 (50:25):
Overall Judkins or a Doonsay.
Speaker 11 (50:29):
Uh, you know what, I'm gonna take a gamble on
a Doonsday man coverage. Steelers play a lot of it.
Doonesday is usually the guy they go to in that situation.
So he's done really well in that spot.
Speaker 1 (50:41):
So I think he's gonna rebound this week Gainwell or Pacheco.
Speaker 11 (50:46):
And I'm gonna go gain Well regardless. I don't even
know if Checko is gonna play. It looks like he's
kind of trending towards a questionable tag. But give me
Gainwell regardless.
Speaker 1 (50:55):
One more before I handed to Andrews half point BPR,
t J. Hawkinson or aj or bar I'm gonna I'm.
Speaker 11 (51:01):
Gonna go Barner, WHOA yeah, let's go yeah. Most I mean,
the industry is down on t. J.
Speaker 1 (51:07):
Hawkinson as well.
Speaker 11 (51:08):
Everybody's kind of just sinking with the McCarthy era in place.
Right now, Hawkinson's like outside the top twenty and consensus
rankings this week at tight end?
Speaker 1 (51:17):
All right, Andrews fire away. You get the final few,
all right?
Speaker 5 (51:20):
Joe Burrow, Matthew Stafford or Jackson Dark.
Speaker 11 (51:24):
You know, I think I'm gonna probably regardless of whether
Burrow comes back or not, I think i'd still have
Stafford higher.
Speaker 4 (51:30):
Okay, need to here.
Speaker 5 (51:32):
I need a Doonsay, a lave, Alec Pierce or cad Aughton.
Speaker 11 (51:38):
Yep, I'm gonna go with the first two, A Dunsay and.
Speaker 5 (51:40):
A lave Okay, full PPR. Need one. Okay, that was funny.
Never mind, it's not an actual fantasy football question. We'll
get that at the end. Scott Scott Scott from Hilo,
Hawaii or Heilo, Hawaii, Jackson Dark or Brock Purty full
PPR again.
Speaker 11 (51:55):
I think I'm gonna go Purty whether Dark plays or not.
Speaker 5 (51:58):
Okay, all right, sit one. Javonte Williams, ken Walker, Emmanuel Wilson.
Speaker 11 (52:05):
Well, if Jacobs plays, it makes it easy. If let's
say Jacobs doesn't play, I'm gonna probably still sit Emmanuel Wilson.
Speaker 5 (52:13):
All Right, I need two of three Tyrone, Tracy, Devin Singletary,
Nick Chubb.
Speaker 11 (52:18):
Tracy Singletary or Chubb and.
Speaker 4 (52:20):
Sit in how many ned two of three?
Speaker 1 (52:23):
Um?
Speaker 11 (52:25):
Funny, I have both, I have both The Giants ahead
of Nick Chubb been phased out almost completely.
Speaker 5 (52:30):
Yeah, okay, touchdown only Rogers or Brissette.
Speaker 11 (52:35):
I'm gonna go with Jacoby Brissett, who has been the
number two quarterback over the last three weeks. Not a
bad matchup against Jacksonville this week.
Speaker 5 (52:43):
You sit one Javonte, We did that one Boot or
Watson half hepr or Christian Watson.
Speaker 11 (52:50):
I got I got but ahead of Watson. But again,
check the health on both of those guys.
Speaker 5 (52:55):
Dak or Kayleb Williams or do I dare picking up
the dreaded Party I have?
Speaker 11 (53:01):
I have pretty one spot ahead of Caleb Williams that
actually would would want to. I think there's like a
tear gap there. I really like Party. I've I've kind
of moved Williams up pretty high. Like the matchup, but
I just feel way better about Party. So if you
can do that, I would do that all right.
Speaker 5 (53:15):
And here's the funny one from the four two five
full PPR need one Polanco Regino.
Speaker 1 (53:25):
Wow.
Speaker 11 (53:26):
Wow. You know what the perfect thing would be is
if we can keep Polanco but infuse Gino's attitude into him.
I know, but I think if I'm doing it, I'm
I'm saving a little money keeping Polanco on getting somebody
who can make some contact at.
Speaker 4 (53:41):
Their base with the baseball knowledge he does.
Speaker 1 (53:45):
He does fantasy baseball. Okay, great, great, yeah's as I
watch a lot, I watch a lot of Mariners. Let's go,
it's got to be Polanco. I don't even know if
that's really that much of a question. Is it really?
Come on, now, we could do better than that if
we're going to fire one of those. Can you play advice?
Speaker 11 (54:01):
What's the time we talked about?
Speaker 1 (54:03):
Yeah, no, exactly funded Thanksgiving dinner? Do you eat it
before two o'clock or after four o'clock? We we usually
eat it at two.
Speaker 11 (54:13):
And I just saw Martha Stewart said that's the perfect time.
Speaker 1 (54:16):
To serve thinks she's wrong. She's wrong, it's wrong.
Speaker 11 (54:19):
You gotta you gotta leave time for seconds later. And
you also you need to have a little bit of
nap time.
Speaker 4 (54:25):
It's a good shout between that. So yeah, I just
like I'm a late dinner.
Speaker 1 (54:30):
I gotta have a little later. I got it. It's
gotta be between the second and third football games. So
that's four four thirty. Yeah, I like nime. I like that.
Let's be honest.
Speaker 11 (54:40):
It's a good problem to have.
Speaker 1 (54:43):
Fund So we're off next week obviously with the holidays.
We'll talk to you in two weeks time. My friend.
If people didn't get their questions answered, how can they
do so?
Speaker 11 (54:50):
Yeah, just come to the Athletic check out the fantasy
football pages. A lot of ranking, it's a lot of
good advice and breaking down the matchups and start and
sit and could jump on the discord people there modern
readers that can answer your questions as well. And yeah, happy,
happy Thanksgiving, Happy long weekend to you guys, and we'll
talk to you on the flip side.
Speaker 1 (55:07):
Thanks buddy, I appreciate it. Brandon Funston is always fun
every Thursday, especially with our our cast of characters that
we have a lot.
Speaker 2 (55:16):
Misfits.
Speaker 1 (55:18):
You know what, I think that's a great way. It
is the island of misfit toys, from from Mike to
Ricky to Rob to the Sultan two step that we've
got going on. We got our guy meet him claw
and that you know we haven't heard for a while
from our is our a buddy from Greg from Graham
Graham are the king of a literation literary. We have
not heard from Greg. Greg always plays in the Marror
(55:39):
Maple Valley Golf tournament, too. We have not heard from
in a while. I kind of miss Greg. If you're
out there, we miss you. Call in two weeks time.
All right, we'll take a break. Jess has a pick
today for a Factor fiction, So we'll do that and
we'll maybe check a text or two.
Speaker 18 (55:51):
Next from the R and R Foundation Specialist Broadcast Studio.
Now back to Ian Fornesz powered by Seattle was closest
sports book Snow call me Casino and Hotel on Sports
Radio ninety three point three kJ R F M.
Speaker 1 (56:12):
All right, Jess has a pick in the second Factor
Fiction brought to you by the Lucky Eagle Casino and Hotel.
Uh Keith Miller A happy Robbie and Burrien is like
your being president of the glee Club. What timeline? What
timeline did I wake up in this year? I know?
I feel it's we all felt the same way. We
(56:33):
love rob Man. Rob is one of those like and
I'll be honest with you. I you know, people, what
are you thankful for this year? One of the things
on this show, in addition to you two obviously, just listeners,
like those guys that we get on every week for
fantasy football. Like we've been doing it for got a
decade or so, maybe more with Funston, probably like close
(56:53):
to like twelve years. We've been doing it with Funston
because he was with Yahoo at first. Yeah, a couple
of different companies we've been doing for a while. And
like Mike and Edmunds, And you've met Mike up there
at Edmunds Chain.
Speaker 2 (57:05):
I went on a fall walk together.
Speaker 1 (57:09):
Next time, if you see him again, I got to
ask him how long he's been calling in, because I
think he's been calling in since the start. Same with
Rob Ricky. Those guys have been calling in since the
start of this thing. It's crazy, and they've become characters.
And we love him uh for that as well, and
Uh and all the guys assaulting two steps and everything,
and those guys are just a ton of fun. But yeah,
when Rob comes calls in all giddy, even though he's
(57:30):
he's having a bad season, but he's not in the
last that's a that's that's a classic Rob and Buren.
When it's all said and done, there were a few
people that text in, and we'll get more on this
when we have some more time, you know, football season.
It's shorter show, kind of hard to get to a
ton of good topics in there, but we did have
a few people reach out. I see you with the
(57:50):
zero eight eight phone number and the one five to
two phone number talking about the Mariners and and the
cost for it and everything else, and yeah, listen, and
I don't want a gloss over the fact twenty five
bucks a month is that's a lot for a lot
of people, you know, and fifty is maybe out of
the question for a lot of people. We do live
(58:12):
in a very influential, pretty well by by American standards.
Our city, our area is pretty okay in terms of income.
But yeah, man, there's a lot of people that you're
just trying to make ends meet. You're just trying to play,
you know, pay rent, You're just trying to get by,
make that car payment. And you know, I think there
is something about being cognizant as a sports franchise of
(58:34):
not just putting everything behind a paywall and we we
talked about it all the time with the MLS, right
with what they did, and yes, they finally have seen
the light. They're getting out of that and they're going
to do that. You know, major League Baseball, I don't.
I don't believe major League Baseball in a lot of
markets is in the position to go behind a paywall
and ask for more and more money. I think you're
(58:56):
very much in the line of where the NHL is,
and it's a very regional in a lot of ways,
and you need to make as accessible and inexpensive as
you can for as many people. You know, the over
the air slash streaming model is the way to go.
I don't think they're gonna go over the air. It
doesn't feel like with the Mariners. So luckily they're coming
(59:16):
off a good year, so they'll they'll get a lot
of people. But yeah, I see you. I saw a
bunch of texts coming in and I can certainly relate
to that. We all know what it's like to just
try to get by a month to month and another
twenty five or fifty bucks might make it hard. So okay,
let's get to it. Factor fiction, where's that to go?
Speaker 7 (59:32):
Glad you're with us, it's your shot at our weekly
thousand bucks and the ten thousand dollars grand price. It's
Factor Fiction, probably presented by Lucky Eagle Casino and Hotel
where every Day Feels Lucky. Factor Fiction is on Sports
Radio ninety three point three KJR FM.
Speaker 1 (59:53):
Factor Fiction, Lucky Eagle Casino. Before it just gives you
her pick, let me ryan you once again that our
bouncebacks are are not working, so please double check make
sure when you CHECKT at four nine four five one,
that you are getting the word spelled correctly, either fact
or fiction. If it's spelled correctly, you're going to have
(01:00:15):
your vote counted. If it's not, that's a you problem,
that's not enough problem. But again, you will not get
a bounce back if you spell it correctly.
Speaker 4 (01:00:23):
And that has nothing to do with us.
Speaker 5 (01:00:25):
And then how we set it up the system that
were there's an outage. They're trying to figure out what's
going on. So texts coming from our station back to
you are not working right now.
Speaker 1 (01:00:36):
So trust trust me when I say this. It is
not Andrew's favorite thing right now.
Speaker 4 (01:00:40):
It's very much not.
Speaker 2 (01:00:41):
No, it is not, and your votes are counted.
Speaker 5 (01:00:45):
Yeah, I was gonna say, I just want to share
everyone that even if you're texting in during the window
and making sure if you spell it correctly, like Ian said,
you are still getting counted towards the contest.
Speaker 1 (01:00:55):
So you know your predecessor that did this, he would
just finish with a heavy sigh. There you go, well done. Okay, Jess,
what do you got?
Speaker 8 (01:01:03):
What you got?
Speaker 1 (01:01:03):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (01:01:04):
I am going to take the Bengals plus six and
a half.
Speaker 2 (01:01:07):
And now I'll tell you why again.
Speaker 3 (01:01:08):
That's Bengals hosting the Patriots plus six and a half
in light of recent events as discussed by one Brendon
Funston in the previous segments, with Joe Burrow looking like
he's a full go, full participation in practice today, I
think that is too wide of a margin, especially because
the Bengals have home field advantage. So I give him
another three on that and that is one hundred Bengals
(01:01:32):
plus six and a half.
Speaker 2 (01:01:33):
I think they're gonna smoke them.
Speaker 4 (01:01:35):
WHOA WHOA.
Speaker 1 (01:01:38):
Well, listen, it's let's remember Jess is a fan of
the who.
Speaker 2 (01:01:44):
Not the Patriots.
Speaker 1 (01:01:47):
Yes, a little bit of heartstrings, right, It's like a
Seahawks fan betting against the forty nine. Okay, the pick
once again.
Speaker 3 (01:01:59):
Is the Bengal plus six and a half at home
as they host the Patriots this Sunday at ten am.
Speaker 1 (01:02:04):
Because it does, indeed sound like Joe Burrow is going
to come back and playing that game. So that lines
that if that like we keep getting I have to yeah,
well no, I mean if we like tomorrow, like when
we cut the final injury week, right and it says Burrow,
you know, no injury designation, and if he's a full
participant participant again today then he probably won't have an
injury designation, that line is going to change.
Speaker 2 (01:02:26):
I believe. So that's why I like to get in.
Speaker 1 (01:02:28):
Now, we'll get.
Speaker 2 (01:02:32):
Home home, let's go.
Speaker 1 (01:02:34):
I know the probably the only the only downside Jamar
Chase is pry. That's a bad man. He's a bad man.
Speaker 2 (01:02:42):
I had him last year.
Speaker 12 (01:02:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:02:44):
That uh, he's you spin on the guy you got
to sit out. He's lucky he's only one game. But
Joe Burrow makes it a pretty significant difference.
Speaker 2 (01:02:54):
That is quite a line.
Speaker 1 (01:02:56):
Yeah, I don't know, man, am I buying the Patriots
buying the No?
Speaker 2 (01:03:01):
I think that's full gold right there.
Speaker 1 (01:03:03):
I don't know if I'm fighting quite by the Patriots.
Speaker 5 (01:03:05):
Drake May as Brandon Funston's number one overall.
Speaker 1 (01:03:09):
Quarterback this week because.
Speaker 4 (01:03:12):
Yeah, I guess the Bengals defense sucks.
Speaker 1 (01:03:13):
By Bengals defense, I should say, yeah, it's I think
that's what we're looking at, not looking We're not looking
at l Well.
Speaker 2 (01:03:20):
They scraped by the Falcons.
Speaker 3 (01:03:22):
They beat the Jets by two scores, which the.
Speaker 2 (01:03:28):
Yeah, I know, I can admit things.
Speaker 3 (01:03:31):
They barely beat the Bells and you know that all
of their opponents have not really been formidable this entire season,
so drag.
Speaker 2 (01:03:39):
That's why Rak Drake.
Speaker 1 (01:03:40):
May things interesting because I mean he keeps getting thrown
out there as an MVP candidate, and you know, twenty touchdowns,
five interceptions jumps off the page. The season they're having
obviously is up there as well. He's going a one
to thirteen passer rating at seventy three point two quarterback
ratings are both outstanding. He hasn't thrown for three hundred
yards in a game yet this year.
Speaker 3 (01:04:00):
Needed to, that's a good point, I need to. I mean,
there's the record makes them look really good. It's what
I mean, like, I don't think they're Yeah, and.
Speaker 1 (01:04:07):
The NFL quarterback not throwing through three hundred yards in
a game all see if that goes on all season?
Are you really an MPP? I don't know. I think
it's kind of a magical number. Maybe I'm wrong, I'm
I'm sure I am wrong. I'm wrong about a lot
of things. I'm sure I'm wrong about that. But it
just it just feels like there's more dominant players than him. Yes,
I guess is how I would put it. But all right,
well I like to pick Jess. Well done, Thank you,
one more, one more time for everybody.
Speaker 3 (01:04:27):
Bengals plus six and a half as they host the
Patriots this Sunday ten am kickoff.
Speaker 1 (01:04:33):
Fact four four five one fact again, spell it correctly,
no bounce back Fact four nine four five one. If
you disagree, fiction four nine four or five one text
in right now factor fiction brought to buy the Lucky
Go Casino and Hotel softing joints.
Speaker 10 (01:04:45):
Next.
Speaker 1 (01:04:55):
Alrighty, let's head to the five to twenty bar and
grill save soft demor checking in with us from over there.
Speaker 19 (01:05:03):
Yes, Connor Bernard related to Eric Bdard And do you
think he'll play half the game like his dad used to?
Speaker 6 (01:05:09):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (01:05:09):
No, they're not related because Connor plays the full sixty minutes.
He does. He he doesn't say, you know what, I've
had twelve shifts already today, and yeah, I think I've done.
Speaker 10 (01:05:19):
I think his nickname was Eric Bedard.
Speaker 19 (01:05:21):
Well, we used to call him on the air nine
to five five inning, Eric five in, Eric five in,
Eric seven wins Sark five inning, Eric.
Speaker 1 (01:05:30):
Seven wins Sark That what do they what do they
call Sark now in Texas? Out just nine wins?
Speaker 10 (01:05:35):
An, I guess somewhere else.
Speaker 19 (01:05:38):
I mean, they liked him the last couple of years
when he made the Final four, right, Hell.
Speaker 1 (01:05:42):
It's is it hard to win twelve games? Eleven games,
ten games every year? It's hard? I think it's hard. Yeah,
Eric Bedard, God, what a what a salty salty son
of it.
Speaker 19 (01:05:53):
Well, that's the thing is he was kind of you know,
he wasn't really a bulldog, and you know, and then
he was kind of a prick on top.
Speaker 1 (01:05:59):
Of that, so he what. I don't know if you
remember this. I remember I remember sitting in the studio,
the old three fifty one Elliott Studios doing.
Speaker 10 (01:06:06):
I forgot about that place, the one.
Speaker 1 (01:06:08):
To three show. I think it was or twelve to three,
whatever would have been then, and their opening day was
was him. He was the opening starter, was a day game,
and we're watching on TV and I look over and
they introduce him, and I'll never forget this. I'm looking
over there, all right, Eric Matard, you know this, This
is kind of the guy, right, he was supposed to
put him over the top. And he gets to start
over Felix in the in the in the opener, and
they introduced him and he just doesn't even acknowledge anybody, like,
(01:06:29):
doesn't doesn't tip his cap, does nothing, and like, well,
this is off to a rousing start. I don't think
it got better, Dave.
Speaker 10 (01:06:35):
Remember who they traded for him for.
Speaker 1 (01:06:37):
Oh yeah, yeah, an All star center fielder, Adam Jones. Yeah,
who needed that guy? Who needed that guy for the
next time? Pretty good? Yeah, he did, fact, very good guy.
Speaker 10 (01:06:47):
I was thinking about.
Speaker 19 (01:06:48):
I was going back to the other day, just tinking
around with some numbers.
Speaker 1 (01:06:52):
Yes, that's dangerous, that's really dangerous.

his boy, Like that was yeah, he loved himself some
Jose Lopez. That was his buddy.
