Als Fotograf war er mit den grössten Rockstars auf Tournee und schuf mit dem Marlboro Man eine weltbekannte Ikone. In Kambodscha traf er Slum- und Müllhaldenkinder, begann zu helfen, merkte aber schnell, dass es nicht nachhaltig ist. Anstatt aufzugeben entwickelte er mit seinem Projekt «Smiling Gecko» eine neue Vision von Hilfe.
