(00:00):
Hello and welcome to American TalkAustralian Survivor.
(00:03):
I'm Rachel, I'm Leah, and I met.
Thanks for joining us.
We just watched episode 13 of AustralianSurvivor
Brains versus brawn twoand there will be spoilers ahead.
Before we jump into this episode,we wanted to recap
a little bit about whatwe missed last week while we were out.
Thank you all for your patience with that.
We saw Noonan go home.
Oh, that was huge.
(00:26):
And it was fun.
It was toughbecause it was a two idol vote out.
So it was a tough way to go out.
But good for Noonan. She played a great game.
Hopefully we'll see her back again.
Yeah.
I'm wondering if they will bring her backbecause she really did
seem to have a good personalityand I liked her as a player.
I hope they bring her back.
Then the next episode we saw Zarahead on over to the brawn tribe
and that was pretty dramatic.
(00:46):
Oh my God,I don't want that to happen right now.
That was really mean.
What Zara did to LauraI that was just really been.
I know in survivoryou have to think about yourself, but
I don't know, I justthat was just rude, right.
And a little foreshadowingfor this episode.
It didn't go over well with the restof the players, but then that's not it.
(01:07):
Yeah.
And then Zara kept laughingand kind of dancing.
I just said that was too much.
If you're going to be mean like that, okay,
I don't agree with it,but that's your choice.
But then the way that she was actingafterwards, I just thought
was like rubbing it in Laura's faceand I thought that was rude.
Yeah, well, the final episode that we missed,
we saw there was no tribal,no vote at Tribal Council
(01:29):
because Ben had self eliminatedand meant for a reason.
No, it was just kind of like.
And he's decided to leave the showand and that was it.
And then even when we came back
at the beginning of episode 13 here, they didn't even really mention it.
I was looking onlineto figure out what was happening.
It sounds like Ben had mentioned, in a post that he had some leg pain.
(01:51):
He was getting a little bit sick
from little, little sleeping outsideand, may have had pneumonia.
So I think it was a true medical leave.
We would have seen it on the show andit would have made a big deal about it.
It sounds like he self eliminated
because he was sick, but he wasn't sickenough that he had to leave the game.
And it does seem thatin the game of survivor,
(02:12):
the producers and production doesn't
really like for people to quit the showbecause obviously it's such a big,
you know, deal to get on the showthat I wonder
if they just kind of skipped over his exita little bit, a little bit out of spite?
Sure. Maybe. Yeah.
But sure, the show puts a lot of effortinto getting each person there,
picking the right people, and then there they are.
And you can't quit halfway through.
(02:34):
Yeah, and you're right,
because he would had been in the showfor quite a while now.
And for them not to say anythingexcept for he left.
Yes. I mean, there was nothing leading up to it.
There was nothing. You know, I'm getting sick. I'm home sick.
You know, we've seen that lots of timewhere people,
they reach this plateauand then just suddenly drop,
and then they're just so homesickand they just so want to go home.
(02:58):
And they even sometimespeople even asked to be voted off,
and they don't get voted off.But but nothing.
You didn't hear anything about Ben.
Very odd.
Like he didn't even say, please send me home. Just left.
Yeah. So must have been on bad terms.
And of course, you never want someoneto be in a situation
that they don't want to be in.
So if he was uncomfortablein any way, then,
you know, it was probably the right choicefor him to go home.
(03:18):
However, as a viewer, I was a little bitdisappointed when he left
because he was specifically statingthat he was throwing challenges.
You know,he was pretending like he didn't,
but we knew thathe was throwing the challenges
and to be throwing challengesand then also quit the show.
As a viewer and a fan of the show,I kind of feel like, well,
you didn't even play the gameand then you quit.
(03:39):
Oh, why do you even out here? Right?
Yeah, it it's frustrating.
So it was a tough, tough to see Ben go out.
But it was exciting that we get to see,
AJ and Polly, who are on the choppingblock at that tribal before Ben left.
Make it to the merge. Right.
So that leaves us in to episode 13.
(03:59):
Today we saw that.
We got straight to it.
The players went to the challengeand it was time to drop their packs.
Right? Yeah.
There was no beating around the bushat the beginning of this episode.
Right to it.
So this was super exciting.
It's always, you know, such a milestonefor everyone to make it to the merge.
They should all be so happyfor themselves.
And congratulations to all the playersfor making it to this huge
(04:22):
turning point in the game where we gofrom teams to an individual game.
All right, I guess right offthe bat, PD PD is still in the game.
I, I'm, you know, I apologize, but
I don't think he should be in the gamebecause he cannot use the one arm.
Yeah.
So we saw he tore his bicep tendon.
(04:43):
The last episode in a fightwith Kaitlyn, for a challenge.
And medical examined him.
They gave him pain meds, they put him in a sling.
And then they kept him in the game.
I don't know,I feel I tell you the reason
this is the second challengehe couldn't participate in.
I don't know what challengehe will be able to participate in.
(05:03):
I just think that's unfair.
Yeah.
Right here at the reward,I was like, okay, you know, it's a reward.
It's not a huge deal.
But then we got to the immunity challengelater on, he still wasn't participating.
And I was kind of like, yeah, I mean, you're missing a huge portion of the game.
I get that it's no longer a team effort.
So he doesn't.
It's only harming himself not to play.
(05:24):
But still it's just not I don't know,I think it may,
may not be appropriate for himto still be in the game.
Right.
And I wonder if playersmight not want to vote him out because.
Oh well yeah.
Hurt by JR doing I mean he can'tI don't know half of the show.
He cannot do he can do the socializing.
But he cannot do the competition.
So let's get back to himafter we talk okay.
(05:46):
So to talk aboutwho we're going to vote out in.
All right.
So they had a rewardfor the cocktail party right.
Which sounds like a greata great reward to me.
Yeah. No merge feast.
Instead it's the merge cocktail partywith an exclusive invite.
So the players have to hanglike sloths on a rope upside down.
Exactly as long as they can.
(06:06):
And the last onethere gets to go to the cocktail party.
I thought it was funny how when they letgo, the all the others moved.
Yeah, it's all one a rope kind of.
I thought that was kind of fun.
So right awaywe see a couple people drop out.
We see Laura and Karen, get outfairly quickly and they're
kind of chatting, catching up about whothey're working with and everything.
(06:28):
So it's an exciting part of the gamejust to see who's talking to who it was.
Then we see AJ is, when he gets out, he's right next to Kate.
And so he's talking to Kate.
But, you know, like, what's your favorite hobby?
What do you do?
And I could tell right awaythat he's trying to play the game.
He's trying to, you know, manipulator, which he's trying to focus and I don't
(06:50):
which Karen saw.And she was not having it.
She is very upset.
If I'm talking too much let me know. Yeah.
Anyway what's your favorite hobby.
Yes. That was that was interesting.
I guess it was helping Kate, you know, keep her mind off of the pain, but, Yeah.
Cards that sounded like ChatGPT.
Yeah. Karen is just not happy with AJ.
(07:10):
It seems like anything he does, she'll have a problem with.
But, Yeah, it's kind of funnythat everyone has to sit there
and listen to their conversation. Well.
And then poorly. Did you see him?
He he's having a very difficult time, but he stayed on for quite a while.
He did a very good job.
Jonathan kept speaking sayingthings that were funny about him.
He was parched.Yeah, yeah, that's what he said earlier.
(07:32):
Oh that's right. Polly said. Yeah. Yeah.
So, you know, I had my eye on duringthis challenge was Kristen.
So she got out maybe like halfway through, but at the beginning
she looked really strong and steady.
And I was thinking, I wonder if Kristencould come out and win the game.
I feel like we've barely seen herdo much strategy,
but we know she has an idoland she has a lot of good connections.
(07:56):
And if she's good
at these endurance challenges, she was, you know, okay at this first one.
But if she can really ramp it upand get better, possibly.
I wonder if she could take the game.
I feel like it's always someonewho's kind of quiet and sneaks out.
Yeah. Here's my mid-season prediction.
She makes it to the final three, but doesn't get more than 1 or 2 votes.
(08:16):
And that might be the case, I don't know, but I think she's going to make it
pretty far right.
I agree, well,I'm just thinking about Kirby and, Right.
Who won last year? George?
No, no, it was Paris Faris.
Oh, yeah. Kirby and Faris.
Wonderful, wonderful season.
And, they both had a strong personality, so.
And then Faris won.
So I think you maybedo need a strong personality win.
(08:40):
I don't know, we'll see.
I don't know, I always say,I think if I were to play survivor,
my strategy would be,don't do anything to make any waves
until the mergeand then really start playing.
And I wonder if that's Kirsten's approach,
I don't know, we'll see what happenspost-merger.
That's so fun.
But you still have to be onthe right side.
You don't want to be on the wrong side.
She seems to be both sides.Yeah. Like her.
(09:02):
She didn't seem to have any problemswith anybody. Right?
Yeah.
I think you just have to kind of play niceand make sure you're on the winning
side up until the merge.
You don't want to do anything crazylike AJ in this hostage situation.
You know, it was now kind of a targetfor a lot of people.
And we're usually on episode 13.
There's so a lot more to get throughto the final, but we'll see how they do.
(09:23):
So we finally get towardsthe end of the challenge.
We see Logan, Zara and Kate all lookingpretty good up there hanging upside down.
And Zahra, a classic lawyer, triesto do some her to negotiate fashion.
So they send JLP down?
Yeah.
Zara assignedAOP to deliver a message to Kate.
(09:43):
He's the courier. Yeah.
So if they are invited to the cocktailparty, they will let Kate have the win.
And Kate accepts with, no pushback.
Right.
So congratulations to Kate for winningthe first individual challenge.
Just a reward, but still pretty cool.
I agree with you.
Why not say why not sayyes to that? Right.
(10:04):
You know, we're going to let more thanthree people go to the cocktail party.
So I know, but once again, it'sI don't think this is right.
They're just given up again.
Oh, you can have it.We're going to step down.
I don't know I did.
Negotiation is okay. It's time.
Oh well it's not like they didanything deceitful.
I know one of them was going to win.
(10:25):
Yeah.
One of them was going to win.
Didn't mean it's going to be Kate. Why?
Anyway, it was very exciting.
No, because and Katehad to make some decisions. Right.
It wasn't just the three of them going.
Yes. You got to take several people.
So of course she sticks your word.
She takes Logan.
And first there was a little bitof a pause there in the editing.
Right. Yeah.
It's like one of the in your head.
(10:45):
Oh, she stabbedof course, later in front of me for sure.
So I'm glad she's got her word there.
She also takes Morgan, who's been her close ally for a long time.
Paulie, who I guess is,you know, they were on opposite
tribes, but, for the tribe swap, but allies originally.
So she want to kind of catch up with him.
And Paulie was really looking at herlike, pick me, pick me, you know?
(11:07):
And he was like.
He was like, ready to go for sure.
And then she ended up taking AJ,who was helping her through the challenge.
And finally Kristen. Right.
So it paid off for AJ. Yeah.
So I think that was a pretty good groupof people that that Kate picked.
So then they headedback to the cocktail party.
(11:28):
But interestingly enough,it's like at camp.
Yeah.
So that's kind of unfair.
I hate when they do that, when you can't win.
Like the losershave to watch them eat and.
Right.
And then they can't,they can't really loosen up
and talk about somebodywho's who's not there.
You know, they want to strategize.
(11:49):
They can't do it because they'rewithin earshot of everybody.
And then I don't know.
Yeah, it's not as much fun.
But Kate's feeling pretty good right.
She said she feels that, she's running the party
and, she's getting to know people, which is, you know,
she got to hear from say,oh, Brian, what's going on?
And she got to meet some new people,so she feels pretty good.
(12:10):
But someone didn't feel good.Oh, sorry. Go ahead.
I think Kate's in a pretty good positiongoing into marriage.
She is.
But what about the personwho said, shut up?
Karen is not happy, even John included, which I can understand.
You know, they talked about thisGirls Gone Wild alliance.
You know, they're trying to bring inall the girls and Karen's left out.
So I see why she's a little bit upset.
(12:31):
But ultimately, you know, I think Katemade the right decision with who she took.
Karen was probably just hungry, but.
And she was worried about AJ being there.
Yeah.
So it was interesting to see kind of.
After the party come out, everyone talkedto their old allies and meet new people.
And it was very interesting to seeeveryone's like, well, who do we trust?
(12:52):
Who's this?
You know, it's a lot of back and forthand a lot of sharing of information.
So very exciting time for the show.
Yeah, well Zara and Laura had some words.
Yeah. They kind of talkedabout their differences.
And Logan was right right there.
He was making the funniest faces rightduring the conversation.
Yeah.
So I don't know it was I guess
(13:14):
they've sort of smooth things overbut it's feeling tense.
Well I thought I was good,Laura said straight to her face.
I feel like you took advantage of me.
You backed me into a corner.
You hijacked me.
And, of course,Zara says that's not her attention.
And Mike. What? How can that not be your attention?
You knew exactly what you were doingwhen you did that.
And Logan says.
(13:34):
Or is on her hitlist.
Yeah, but Logan was hilarious during that part.
Well, the really interesting thingabout what happened with Zara
is she never went to tribal councilwith this group
and no one went home, you know, since been eliminated, there was no vote.
So even if she had been on the other tribewouldn't have mattered.
I see, obviously, like she didn't know that ahead of time,
(13:55):
but it is kind of a bummer for her.
Looking back to see thatshe made this big dramatic,
thing that everyone's mad at her for.
At least her number one allyLaura, is mad at her for.
And it really had no effect on the show,no impact on her game, right?
Yeah, well, maybe it did have an impact on her game.
(14:15):
Maybe I misspoke there.
It had an impact on the game, but certainly nothing was not.
Yeah.
Had she notshe would be in in some better shape.
So I don't know.
Interesting how that kind of shook out.
It always seems like they swap someoneon the tribe like right before merge.
And I always wonderwhat's the point of that?
There's not enough votes for itto make a difference,
(14:35):
but just to see if they'll get voted outthe next time, I guess.
Right.I guess that, yeah, that team will lose.
And then willthey vote the new person out?
Yeah, I don't know.
Well, they needed a new name.
And then PD, talked to the peoplewho were helping him
right with his armand they came up with the new Saul.
We saw a little bit from, that group with Polly and Jesse and PD.
(14:58):
They're kind of catching up.Did they have a name?
I must have missed that. Oh, yeah. No,they came up with a new name.
Yes. Mallows. Mallow.
So for the whole tribe. Yeah. Yeah.
Mallow. See,I thought an alliance they might say.
Interesting name. Yeah. So good for them.
And then we can get back.
Right back into strategy. It's a big strategy day.
Folly tells Jesseand PD that he is after AJ.
(15:22):
Meanwhile, AJ is very happythat he reunited with Myles.
They were kind of funny.
They're talking at nightand Myles is like, everyone's told me
all the information and then AJ says, you know I have all the information.
They're like but the trade, the two of us,we have all the right okay.
They know everything.
Again, I don't know I know,
(15:42):
but I think that's from whatwe've seen of Myles before.
He just talks a lot and who knows whatpeople are telling them.
Well wait,I want to go back to Polly because.
Polly what's going on and on and on to,Jesse and Jesse's like,
and then at the end, he goes,we don't know what I went through.
And it's like, now, I don't know.
And then,I just thought that was pretty funny.
(16:02):
And he.
Polly says that he's watchingAJ smooth smooching with everybody.
And then he says, maybe I should do the same.
Right? And then he did.
And he does it.
Yeah, go for him.
You got to play the game. Right.
So I'm glad that, you know, sometimes you say something to yourself,
I should do that.
But you don't you, you don't do it.
But Polly said, all right, I'm not.
(16:23):
I'm here to win this gameand I'm going to do it.
He said it out loud, and then he startedstepping up the social game.
All right. So good job Polly.
Yeah, they keep calling him the snakeoil salesman.
But I don't feel thathe's been all that sneaky.
I think he's just playing survivor.
Right? Yeah.I don't know why they're saying that.
He seems like a nice person.
It from what we see. Right?
(16:44):
Maybe we're just, jadedbecause we've watched American
Survivor so much, and that's just the way it's played.
Yeah, they've seen it, too.
You know, I feel like everyone's seenevery episode of survivor.
I hope they have. Yes.
So I don't know. But anyway, good for Polly.
I think he's playing a good game.
I do, and he's very strong.
Yeah.
Speaking of strength,we head on into the immunity challenge.
(17:07):
The very first individual won.
The necklace was pretty good this year.
I think we've seen some bad ones. And I was happy with this one.
Has some color.
I liked it right in a skull. Right.
I mean yeah that's about right.
There's always something weird on every.
Right. Yeah.
So this challenge was pretty cool.
A brand new challenge according to JLPyou kind of have to balance your legs
(17:30):
and then on like a seesaw
and then you're balancing these ballsand holding onto a rope.
It looks pretty tough.
It does.
It does because you really can't move thatmuch. Right?
So you get a little twitch in your leg
and the ball could rollall the way to the end,
and you could be outjust from a little twitch.
Yeah.
And then and then they had that rope
that they were pullingfor over their shoulder,
(17:51):
which just added more complication to it.
To me.
Yeah. I saw and looked likeit would be very hard.
I think I'd want to try it outa couple times before I competed.
Right.I'm sure that's not the case. Right.
And then PDD sits outand then poor Laura grabs her ball
just as it starts to, you know, she probably thinking
(18:11):
she probably heard them say, you know,
the game is beginning now,but it just didn't sink in.
And she probably just thought,oh, I'm just going to recenter it. Yeah.
Get started.
Yeah.
And, and and she kept sayingshe thought she could win this once.
That's too bad.
And then I thought she put a lot of
pressure on the whole gamebecause she kept saying, you got to win.
You got to win. Yeah, yeah.
And like like you got to win.
Well, the pressure work to payit came down to Logan
(18:34):
and Jesse and it looked likeit could be anyone's game.
You were talking
about how Jesse as a pro skater, this is like kind of this challenge.
You know, he's battle Logan,Jesse and Miles, right?
I mean, yeah,I mean, he does play a physical game.
Yes. Yeah.
Everyone did pretty well.
All three of them.
And then it came down to Logan versusJesse, and Logan pulled out the win.
(18:55):
She attributed it to Polaris.
And so yeah, I guess that's another thingwe all have to do before
going on survivor. You gotta work on bodies.
Well, wait,I want to say something about Logan.
So Loganseems to get a lot of airtime in my mind.
She really, really. We see a lot of her.
And I was wondering, is it because she,She's married to that gentleman?
(19:16):
This or is it.
I mean, she seems like a really funperson, and,
I mean, she seems like a nice person,so I don't know, but it just seems
like she's getting more airtimein my mind than other people.
Now, maybe I'm wrong.
Maybe.
Maybe Iwe see a lot of AJ and Paulie also.
I guess it could be.
And Miles, now they think of youwhat you say, right?
(19:36):
Miles says funny things.
He's doing kind of quirky things.
She says interesting things, right.
She's making the faces today. So maybe you just like it.
You know, she's that couldthat could all be it.
Right?
Well, she was dancing around todaywhen she won, right?
She was so excited. Right.
That's fine.
I mean, it could be kind of hintingthat she's going to win.
They want us to all likeand know the winner.
(19:57):
Yeah, that'swhat I'm wondering, right. Yeah.
But yeah,I mean I wonder who her husband plays for
in the AFL if they like, air his games.
We don't know anything about their AFL.
Right. But, do they have some connection?
The ten play, I don't know. Oh,that's like no.
Yeah.
Someone you know anything about Felicityor the AFL?
Right?
(20:18):
Maybe they have some connection.
But also, I think Logan's fun to watch.
I mean, she says funny things, you know, she does.
She doesn't.
A matching idol in her bag.You know, she has. Yeah.
She's got minors. Right. So.And you've got the game.
I mean, she has a lot of alliances.
But her bragging was a little bittoo much.
I think when she came back,we mentioned that when we watched it, Leah
and I that, you know, she's like,oh, I've got to.
(20:41):
I don't have to bring everythingtogether, right?
That's trying to bring all my shoes.
Yeah, yeah.
I understand why she was so excitedbecause it's the very first of the season.
Like it's a huge dealto be able to win the very first one.
It's awesome. Exactly.
But you can be proud of yourselfinternally.
And you don't. Right.
You want to rub itin, right? Right. It's a social game.
(21:01):
You can't forget that, right.
Say that in your in your confessional.
Right. When it's just you and the camera.
Well then we get intothe strategizing prior to tribal.
So they mentioned that there's sixoriginal brawn versus seven
original brains.
I'm thinking again, back to Ben.
You know, if he hadn't left, right, would things have been different?
You know, who would have gone home before?Would it have been a brain or brawn?
(21:23):
They would have at least had one more.
So, I don't know,
I think it it would have been at tideor they would have had the upper hand.
So, it was interesting, though, that no one's mentioned
Ben at all because Jesseand then were pretty close.
So I would have imaginedthat Jesse would have been like, you know,
I missed my friendbecause I just lost my number one.
Like, I'm looking for a new allyand something like that.
And there was just no mention.
(21:44):
I wonder if they edited him out or likeif they really just didn't talk about him.
I don't know, it was very weird, right? You're correct.
Or Jesse wants, to get Zara.
He said that's who they were going to vote
for when they found outthey weren't going to have a vote.
And he thinks everyone'sgoing to go along with that.
And he has good reasoning.
(22:04):
So that'show we're going to vote out last night.
So I think we should just continueto vote.
Share out.
Yeah.
And then he pulls in his hunk alliance.
Miles.
But wait I do like what I about Jesse
is he says he's doing itbecause of what Zara did to Laura.
Right. He said that? Yeah.
So so I mean, that's a good way to like, get people on board, right?
(22:26):
She is sneaky.
It makes sense. So he approaches Logan.
Logan thinks it's a good idea, but she's not ready yet.
Instead, the girls are all targeting Jesse,
so he kind of tells Jessethat she's in on it, but she's really not.
But. Yeah, well,I mean, that's the game, so.
Yeah, exactly.
But yeah, she tells usthat it's not time yet. Right?
(22:48):
But Kate is thinkingall the girls are going to go on Jesse,
kind of playing off of this prior girlsalliance that they had the girls gone wild
all targeting on Jesse, that they had been planning
to do prior to Zaramoving over to, the opposite tribe.
So everyone's just kind of playing tribalas it was before Zara left, almost,
(23:11):
you know? Right. Same same votes.
But what's interesting is Katesays they have the numbers,
but she wants to put one more injust to be safe.
And she goes to AJ.
I think that's interesting is AJwe know we'll just do whatever he wants
and he'll blow up the game.He doesn't care.
So I'm thinking that's a little scary.
Do we go into AJif you don't even need him?
(23:31):
Right.
Well he was given her a lot of components.
She is very pretty. In awe.
I'm sure her eyes are very blueas he said.
So yeah, it's funny, but AJ wants Polly.
That'swho he's looking after to go after, right?
Yeah.
So then there's talk.
You knowAJ pulls in Zara, Laura Carr and Logan.
And the original brainsare kind of thinking that they'll split
(23:54):
between Jesse and Paulie.
So there's a lotthere's just a lot of names going on.
AJ wants PD to vote with him.
PD wants to talk to Kirsten about it,and then now Kirsten and PD are kind
of like in the swing positionwhere they're like,
is it going to be czaror is it going to be Paulie?
It seems like PD really doesn't understandwhat's going on.
(24:14):
Like he's not keeping up with everybody.
But one thing he did say is that hehe has no problem voting out Paulie
because he was so close to Noonan, and the two of them really didn't.
He didn't communicate with the group.
Yeah.
So he'skind of not making peace with prior.
All right. Try made.So that's interesting.
(24:35):
We'll see what happens.
Yeah.
I think the PD is a little bit not quite
as social of a playeras some of the other ones.
So I think maybe he just thinks a lotbefore he speaks.
So it's not sharing his thoughtsquite as much as other players are.
But yeah, it would be interestingto hear a little bit more from him.
Yeah, in terms of strategy.
(24:55):
But maybe that's the strategyis that he's going to be quiet and,
you know, trying to get to the endthat way. Yeah.
Well, I think it's a good observation,Rachel, because he's the coach.
And so yeah, generally coachesdon't socialize like with the players.
Right.
If you think about, you know, your your coach from high school
or something, they're not like hanging outwith you or the coach from college.
(25:16):
And the coaches separateand they're like the father figure
of all the whole team, right.
Or the mother figure of the whole team.
And so maybe that'swhat he has a hard time dealing with,
working as a part of the teaminstead of the leader of the team.
Yeah, that could be so yeah, we never aKirby always said that she would watch.
(25:37):
As a coach, you have to watch everybodyand you see their strengths
and their right.
So she was a little more vocalabout what she saw in PD.
Yeah.
Or maybe it's just not gettingthe air time right I don't know.
But yeah like we talked about PD earlierit is interesting
that he's still in the game.
I hope he takes this opportunityand make something of it.
(25:58):
Right.
I was thinking I'm
kind of and say, you know what, you guys,I don't think I should be in the game.
I'm going to bow out. Right?
That's what I think I would do.
Or the balancing thing.
He could have had one arm, right?
That they only wanted one arm. Right?
I mean, he could have at least tried.
Right.
Put the ball on the road, put a balance.
So I don't know,maybe if they took a bigger.
(26:20):
Yeah.
Well anyway,
so I will say the one thingthat struck me as odd with PD
is that they're giving him painmedication, which is totally fair, right?
He's in pain.He should be getting pain medication.
But I mean, even if it's just Tylenolor ibuprofen, I know on US survivor,
I feel like they're constantly like,you know,
even if you get taken awayfor an X-ray or something
(26:40):
like you're out of the game,I feel like they're very strict on
if you have morethan just like a brief medical check.
I feel like you're out of the game.
Though they won't even give you, like, a Gatorade or anything.
So I am surprisedthat PD is getting a sling.
He's getting medicineand he's all in the game, right? Right.
So if he's getting ibuprofenand somebody else
is having some swollen joints or somethingfrom, you know, all the challenges,
(27:04):
they could probably say, well,I could use some ibuprofen.
And I mean, we don't know the rulesabout what everyone gets at baseline.
Maybe they all have pain meds. Well,I don't know.
But I do think that there'sa little bit of an extra advantage.
I don't know, it's hard to say.
I feel like obviously you never wantanyone to leave for a medical reason
because you worked so hardto get to this point, like we were saying.
(27:24):
And, you know, Noonan was hoping to playwith her sprained ankle and everything.
So it's like, you really hate to seesomeone pulled for a medical reason.
But it is.
I feel like if PD doesn't recover quickly,I mean, how far can it go like this?
You know, I don't know, but let's go on to the next injury.
Probably gets hit in the head like Laurastauch on the way to trial that was.
(27:48):
And then the way they played the,you know, exact time that he got hit.
And I know it's crazy.
I rewound it and watched it again. Right.
And then Jonathan,he seemed genuinely surprised
that something happened to Polly. So maybe he didn't know.
Maybe they didn't tell him beforehand, but Polly came in with that bandage.
It's funny to get that injurynot even out of town.
(28:11):
Yeah.
You know, but.
And they need a bandage on his head.
You know, it'snot just like that. It's just like.
Yeah, but what it, it very tense.
Tribal vote. Right? Today.
Yeah.
So at tribal, they're talking about how, you know,
are we going to follow the old linesor have we made new lines?
And I think it's Kristin saidthat all the tribal lines
(28:32):
are pretty much dissolved, and we're kind of starting fresh.
And I think that's really exciting.
Place to be as a viewer going into merge, because when, you know,
some seasons, we'll see people say,you know,
we're absolutely stickingto our old tribal lines and that's it.
And it gets kind of boring.
So this is really exciting to see a fluidgame where people are switching sides.
(28:52):
It's not necessarily,oh, the brains have majority,
so all the brawn are getting picked off.
So I'm excited to see wherethe rest of the season goes.
Me too. It's very exciting.
I like all the people.
I like it too.
And to compare it to American Survivor, again, it's nice that they did that.
There's just two teams in that.
Three teams like American Survivorkeeps doing in their current seasons.
(29:14):
Yeah, it's a little bit more simpleto keep track of.
Right.
And either you're on this teamor you're on that team.
You're not on one of these three teams.
And then you mix them up and then. Yeah, right.
And currently in the United States, survivor, it's always seems like one
team doesn't do well.
And it's happening again. Right.
But anyway, back to the Australiansurvivor the superior show.
(29:35):
Many would say yes. Yeah.
Very good show as I was saying.
Jesse said too many connections.
You know, it can be a threat.
Yeah. About Zara.
Zara. Yeah.
So he's talking about Zara, how she's friends with everybody.
Yeah, yeah, she knows everyone on both teams, right?
She didn't need to introduce herselfto anyone, she said.
And then later on, Jesse saystoo many connections can be a threat.
(29:58):
So that's interesting. Yeah, well,he was right. Right.
Yeah, yeah.
Midge is the only person who's beenon the tribe with every single person,
I think for. Right.
And again, she put herself in that position
and made herself a test when she did that.
So I don't know how this is going
to work for Zara, but we find out quicklywhen it's time to get to the vote.
So Zara gets two votes.
(30:19):
And then finally, you know,we get down to it and Jesse has five
and Polly has five, and it comes downto the very last vote and he goes home.
Polly's looking like,oh no, I better pick up, back off.
You know, he looks like, yeah, this is it.
Well,even after it's announced that Jesse's
the one going home,Polly still looks pretty upset.
I don't think he expected to get thatmany.
(30:39):
He must not have. He?
No, he went surprised, like his head went back like, oh my gosh.
Well, he did say before, tribalthat he felt very positive.
Like he's in a very good position.
So I don't think he knew thatanybody would put a vote on him.
I don't think he gotanybody would do that.
So it'd be interestingto see how Polly moves forward in the game
(30:59):
with this new knowledgethat it was almost him was very close.
Right.
Well, it was very well controlled
because the two peoplewho got the votes voted for Zara.
Right?
Jesse and Polly voted for Zara.
So they they really lined it up.
However they did it.
I don't think we got the full force of itby watching all the
the talking beforehand,
but they managed to do it so that it wouldbe five against, six on the vote.
(31:24):
And the two who are getting the votesdidn't even vote for the one person
you know, they didn't even know the other person.
Yeah, I don't even knowif that was on purpose or not
because it was also chaotic.
It felt like there was so many plansand so many alliances.
Yeah,I don't even know if that was on purpose
or if it just happened that way.
But yeah, it was good that the two people
(31:44):
who got the most votes didn't know thatit was them versus the other one.
Right.
Well, when the producersare putting together the show
and they have 13 people holdingconversations, it's it's very difficult.
Oh I bet yeah.
Right.
You know,
because we've been we've been having 6or 7 people holding a conversation.
Now all of a sudden they're both together.
And so there's just so many people.
It's hard to keep the story straight.
(32:05):
Well, I understandKate wanted to keep the Woman's alliance.
Girls gone wild, but why?
Jesse?
I didn't really think he was a threatto anybody.
Well, he did almost winthe immunity challenge today, so
he could have been a challenge threatmoving forward.
Yeah, I think it's a physical threat, but he doesn't seem to be an annoying.
(32:25):
He seems to be just kind of laid backand goes with the flow.
I do wonder if Ben leavingalso hurt him tonight.
If maybe that, gave him a little.
He's on his own a little more.
Maybe he would have known more about it.
Had been been there.
Ben. Ben might have heard it rightand changed the whole game for him.
But there's just so many other males.
(32:46):
I'm just surprised it was Jesse.
But anyway, that's who got both our otherhunks on there who love a lot of muscles.
You know, he's not the only one.
And, he was very graciouswhen he got voted out right?
He was did a nice job when he walked out, but, Yeah, that was something.
So it happened.
They did what they wanted to do.
Kate and their girls gone wild.
(33:07):
And yeah, it was very interesting.
I feel like the entire time, you know, with the different tribes,
we would see
Jesse and Ben were always talking, you know, we could tell
that they were number onesthat looked kind of similar.
They're both really good at challenges, and I didn't feel like I ever knew them.
And I kept thinking like,oh, during merge,
we'll get to know them a little bit more.
And now they're both gone.
And I still don't really know themvery much.
(33:27):
So that's too bad.
I would have liked to have gotten,
to see a little bit moreof their personalities, of their strategy,
but, and their personal life too, you know,
I mean, all we really knowis he's a skateboarder.
Yeah.
We don't really know a whole lotabout either of them,
but I will say I'm very happy.
That Polly, Zara, AJ, all the otherplayers are still in the game
(33:48):
because they cause drama.
Yeah. That's good. Yeah.
Good TV, even Zara, she always says, you know, this
going to be a straightforward voteand everything, but she is making enemies.
She's making waves.
So I'm excited that, the players thatare fun to watch are still in the game.
You know, everyone'sbeen fun to watch this whole game,
but I think this is a great groupgoing into the merge.
(34:09):
Hey, what do you guys think?
Will Zara be upset that she got two votes?
Oh, I'm sure she will.
But yeah, yeah, I don't be mad at all,you know, put me on the chopping block.
Yeah.
You guys say no question.
Yeah, well, you know who voted for me?
Why did they vote for me?
I kind of like that.
Yeah.
She likes to be in control again. Right.
And that's going to mess it up. Yeah.
(34:30):
So no thanks for.
Yeah I was great to watch another show.
We're happy to be back.
Right.
It's nice to be backand to be able to talk about what we saw.
Oh we did have a toasty.
So yeah, we traveled, with Annikato Australia this time.
But we did enjoy a nice cheese toasty.
And we were talking about how un, I thinkwas it last season
(34:52):
they had a rewardwhere they had cheese toasties and, we,
we've only heard about, like, a grilledcheese, so we thought it was very funny.
We didn't know what it was.
Right. We're like, what is that?
So we're so excited.
We got to go have it toasty.
And it is very, very good.
I had, scrambledeggs and avocado and mine.
It was delicious.
So we're big fans of toastiesnow, and we hope everyone in Australia
