Scottie's conversation on joy with his daughter, Olive ~

(March 14th for her pre-birthday lunch at the Cheesecake Factory)

Scottie: Olive, what have you learned this last year? Or is there anything God has told you or touched your heart with?

Olive: I learned you can have joy even if someone you love is not here anymore (referring to losing her Uncle Derek to suicide in August 2021)

Scottie: How do you experience joy?

Olive: Memories

There is a momentary pause in the conversation and, unprompted, she smirks and begins half-talking/ half-singing:"Who runs the world? Girls!!!"

(It's the song her Uncle Derek would blast for her on repeat every time they were together)
