Are you feeling drained by toxic relationships, overwhelmed by social media platforms, and confused by conflicting advice? I've been there, and I know how suffocating it can be. But what if I told you that letting go might be the most powerful move you can make for your podcast and business growth?

We only have so much energy to give each day. When we spread ourselves too thin or hold onto things that don't serve us, we limit our potential for growth and impact. By identifying and releasing energy vampires, we create space for new opportunities and renewed passion.

Key Areas to Evaluate:

• Toxic relationships and clients

• Overwhelming social media platforms

• Conflicting mentor advice

Your Action Steps

1. Conduct an energy audit of your relationships and commitments

2. Choose 1-2 platforms that bring you joy and align with your audience

3. Evaluate your mentors and courses - keep what serves you, let go of the rest

4. Set one clear boundary to protect your energy and time

Remember, letting go isn't a sign of failure - it's a strategic move that can skyrocket your success. Are you ready to release what's holding you back and make room for extraordinary growth?

(00:00):
Hey, podcaster, I see you over there.

(00:02):
I know what you've been through.
Are you juggling all those toxic clients?
Are you on too manysocial media platforms?
And maybe you have a handful ofconflicting mentor's opinions?
Hmm.
I bet this is all leavingyou overwhelmed and drained.
I'm about to reveal why cuttingties and letting go might be the

(00:23):
most powerful move you can make.
But there's one surprising area thatyou might need to let go of first,
and it might not be what you think.
So are you ready?
Let's go!
Don't worry, I've been here too,where I've just felt like I was

(00:43):
suffocated by the people around me,by where I needed to show up, and by
all the conflicting advice online.
Now, why we're talking about thisis because as I left PodFest and had
conversations with people after all ofthe little sessions were done for the day,
What I was hearing was pure excitement.

(01:04):
People were so ready to go home, repurposetheir podcast, start marketing their
podcast, start showing up consistently.
And you know what happened?
Within a week, I had a conversationwith a couple of these people and that
wind was knocked out of their sails.
This is because there was so muchconflicting information and so many shiny

(01:26):
objects that they were grabbing at thatthere was no way that there energy could
actually maintain what they wanted to do.
That's why in the last episode, wewere talking about baby steps, little
steps, little things that we could do,small 15 minute actions, because when
we bite so much, I hate the saying youcan't eat the elephant in one bite,

(01:47):
but I've heard it multiple times.
I don't know where it came from.
It's terrible, but it's true.
You can eat an elephant in one bite.
Good for you.
I sure can't.
So we need to start thinking aboutletting go as a strategic decision that
can actually boost your authenticityand gives you a path to growth.

(02:08):
Why it is so important to identifywhere your energy is, how much
energy you have is because we onlyhave so much to give in a day.
And we need to make sure thatwe're focusing on things that
are actually moving our businessforward that we can maintain.
And especially when it comes torepurposing and marketing and showing
up and sharing our gifts, because if wespend so much time and energy on things

(02:32):
that don't work that energy comes throughand if we hate it, it comes through and
people don't buy businesses don't grow.
We don't make the impact comeso we don't make the impact.
So the first thing I need you to dois I need you to really start looking
at the energy vampires in your life.
This is hard.
This has been a.
Big, big let and go last 12 months for me.

(02:56):
What is an energy vampire?
This can be toxic clients, draining relationships or
commitments that don't serve you.
This can be repurposing your podcast.
This can be doing all the differentthings in the last 12 months.
I have let go of three majorrelationships that Left a huge
financial stress in my life.

(03:18):
I had two, what I called cash cow clients.
They composed 50 percentof my income, 50%.
I let go of one last year.
I let go of one this year, but here's what happened.
I let go of the one last year, and you know what happened?
I got three clients in their place.
And because I had let go of somebodywho sucked my life out because I didn't

(03:41):
align with their core values, those threenew clients actually took me the same
amount of time and made me More thanwhat I was making with that other client.
Then I decided that I was no longergoing to be in a toxic relationship
with my husband and I got a divorce.
Then this year, recently, Idecided to resign from another

(04:04):
relationship with a client.
That just wasn't aligned with my values.
We just didn't have theback and forth boundaries.
And this was my fault because I hadn'tset boundaries and I hadn't put in place.
This is how it was going to be.
I let my values and my boundaries down.
And then once you give someonean inch, they take a mile.
So I finally stood up for them.

(04:26):
Decided to resign.
It was not taken.
Well, I was bad mouth, but we all comethrough and make it to the other side.
Right?
So even though I lost a stableto income household, two of
my cash cow clients, which wasoriginally 50 percent of my salary.
All of this.

(04:47):
Letting go has brought in newopportunities, new income, and I'm
actually living a pretty comfortable life.
Not only that, but I have slept multiplenights in a row, my body is feeling
good, and my health is feeling better.
The bonus of all of this and why it'son this podcast is that it's actually

(05:08):
making me excited to want to recordand to show up in my business again
because I have all this extra energy.
I have more work than I had before,a hundred percent more work than
I had before, but I'm getting itdone in less time and I'm not.
Being so drained by the time I'm done withit, because I let go of those vampires.

(05:29):
I also let go of Instagram, I letgo of TikTok, because they weren't
serving me and I was not showing up anddoing a good job on them, so of course
they weren't going to work for me.
So, you need to start standing upfor yourself and figuring out how
and what is taking your energy andwhere you actually want to focus.

(05:50):
You know, like, saying no Despitehaving a financial upside of
being with a toxic client.
It isn't going to get you anywhere.
It's going to take you so much effort.
If you set your marketing up wrong andyou attract in people that you know are
not a good fit, it's going to take youmore time and energy than you have for

(06:11):
all the other clients and you're going tobe exhausted and that's where we give up.
When you align yourself and youstand up for yourself, whether
it's clients, mentors, whereyou're repurposing, you actually
give yourself this renewed energy.
It's like a.
place of relief.
And then all of a sudden, clarity isgoing to come in and you're going to be

(06:32):
setting boundaries and you're going tobe like, this is what I'm going to do.
And then you create things like the boldaction collective, where we take action
boldly because there's so much fluffout in the world where you are given all
these things, you find clarity, but nobodyever gives you the strategic action plan.
And not only do we give youthe strategic action plan,

(06:53):
every week you get to come in.
To a group hot seat coaching and youget to talk about your business and get
support exactly the way you need it.
So that's really exciting.
But that was all came from me standingup for myself so that I could have room
to create from a space that felt good.
I had the energy to create.
Then I was like, okay, well we'vegotten rid of some toxic people now.

(07:18):
I need to get rid of all these platformsbecause fewer platforms, bigger impact.
Whoa.
I know.
Oh, and there's serious FOMO.
I get it.
I have FOMO too.
You know, when I gave up Instagram and putan Instagram website up, well, Hey, thanks
Instagram for changing from squares.
My Instagram website now looks terrible.

(07:40):
Then I was wanting to beon Tik TOK and I kept.
Feeling like I had to be thereand I'd show up 110 percent for
like a month, month and a half.
And then I was like, I'mnot seeing any results.
And then I'd quit.
And then I'd get FOMO and I'd go back.
That was a lot of energy startingand stopping, starting and stopping.
So I really sat with what is serving me.

(08:00):
How am I actually growing?
How has my business grown in thelast You know, eight to 10 years.
And that's where I realized podcasting, networking, guesting, and going all
in on YouTube this year is actuallyall I really need because with
my podcast, with networking, withguesting, and then YouTube, a lot

(08:22):
of that is legacy building, right?
Yes, it takes a little bitmore time on the front end.
It's a little slower burn, but that burn keeps going.
The podcast that I ended.
Oh my goodness.
It was almost, it waslike almost 18 months ago.
Feed your business with love stillgets downloads every single day.
I have not touched it for 18 months.

(08:43):
I think it's 18 months, but I haven'ttouched it for a really long time
and it's still getting downloads.
That's where I want to be.
Yes, you will still see me onFacebook because I like community
and I feel still, I know you'recanceling me for being on meta.
It still feels like a place that you canbuild a community and I noticed that when

(09:04):
I started groups on other platforms peoplejust weren't showing up the same way.
So I'm guaranteeing you thatas I start focusing it's going
to keep growing and I see it.
Every time I shift my focus, I'vealready brought in multiple people
into my brand new membership becauseI focused and I got to talk to people

(09:26):
and I got to have conversations.
Business is not just about howmany views you can get, how many
downloads you can get, how many ofthis, how many comments, blah, blah.
It's about the one person on theother side that you can serve that's
willing to pay you to serve, right?
So, You don't need to be everywhere.
You don't need a giant audience.

(09:48):
There are different strategies that withreally small audiences, you can make a
really big impact which can make you a lotof money if that's what you're going for.
And again, you're supporting others.
So as we're going through this andwe're thinking about these platforms,
how many mentors do you have?
Do you have mentors for every platform?
Do you have mentors onmentors on mentors on mentors?

(10:09):
That was me raising myhand, 100, 000 of that.
And all else it did was burn me out.
It created so much confusionand no clarity, the controversy
between one person to the next.
And it was like, this person wants me todo this on the same platform that this
person's wanting me to do something else.
It overloaded me.

(10:29):
And I had too many expert opinionsin my mind, which is why I think
you should pay for mentoring.
Because if you're just using Dr.
Google as your mentor, you'regoing to get a lot of conflict.
It's going to be overwhelming.
The fastest way isalways to stick with one.
So if you are going to do Dr.
Google, stick with one person's freeoptions to go through and actually do it.

(10:52):
Because the more voices you get in themix, unless it's something like hot seat
coaching, the more confusion you're goingto get because you're going to keep trying
all the things going to burn you out.
So I really want you to starttrusting your intuition and I want
you to simplify your mentor list.
Maybe this like for me rightnow, that's a YouTube mentor and

(11:15):
somebody to help me with TED talks.
They are two separate.
Games, I have two separate peopleand they're both getting me towards
my goal, but that meant I had toget rid of my social media mentor.
That means that I got rid of mycurrent podcast mentor temporarily.
I will go back, but I have to trimthe fat so that I am staying focused

(11:40):
and remaining not overwhelmed.
So I want you to takeaway from this episode.
These are your action steps.
Okay.
Are you ready for them?
I really want you to like take this intoconsideration and I know it seems harsh,
but I need you to do an energy audit.
I need you to write down thetoxic relationships you have.

(12:03):
Whether you can cut ties with themor not, is there a way to limit the
time with those toxic relationships?
Is there a process to get out?
It took me from the floor of CostaRica to my divorce was final.
It took me three and a half yearsto make the plan to get out.
So this might not be somethingof like, Hey, I quit peace

(12:23):
out and you're done tomorrow.
But I really want you to think about.
Your energy audit.
Are there human energy vampiresthat you can spend less time with?
You can maybe get rid of altogether.
Then I want you to startthinking about your platforms.
You want to show up, choose one or twochannels that really bring you some
joy that align with your audience orthat you've actually seen bring an

(12:48):
ROI to and focus on those two things.
Spend the time, stay consistent, then add one at a time.
If you are splattering repurposedpodcasts on all the apps right now,
let me tell you, especially if it'sclips, it's not working and just stop.
Just stop.
It's not doing you any good.

(13:08):
So really focus on those platforms andthat energy that you actually have.
Then this one's hard.
I want you to check in with thementors, the courses, the classes, the
masterclasses, the blah, blah, blah.
What is actually serving youand what is not serving you?
What are you missing?
If you're missing something that's likea group hot seat coaching, where you

(13:31):
come in, you get 20 minutes, you spillyour wins, your struggles, you get
support and feedback from 37 other women.
Come join us inside the bold.
Action Collective.
And that's exactly what it is.
We take bold action every week.
Mind you, this could look like me tellingeveryone to turn off their mics, having
someone record their trailer, editingit, and getting it posted that day so

(13:53):
they get started with their podcast.
It can be that quick.
We also do coworking sessions.
So really check in.
Do you need a mentor or doyou need a support group?
Maybe the bold action.
Collective isn't for you.
Maybe it's something else, but reallycheck in with your mentors and your
groups and make sure that you are aligned.

(14:15):
Next
boundaries, boundaries,boundaries, boundaries.
Is there any one clear boundary thatyou could currently set right now?
Maybe this is money, time, personal, emotional.
I want you to think of just oneboundary that you can start pushing.
I tried this with my clients.
Hey.
I have a five day turnaround inmy contract that you agreed to.

(14:38):
I know for the last two years you've beengetting away with a 24 hour turnaround,
but I'd like to start having weekends.
I am going to start upholding that.
That did not fly well becauseI had let them get away with
it for two and a half years.
So my boundary was okay.
We're moving to 48 hours.
Then I moved to 72 hours and then thepushback came and then you have to decide

(15:01):
at that point, is that person gettingto stay or are they part of that energy
vampire audit where you need to cut ties?
So really think about like someboundaries that you can set.
Maybe it's a boundary with yourself.
Maybe you're scrolling too much andyou're like, okay, instead of the three
hours that I'm going to spend scrolling,I'm going to spend two and a half.
And I am going to spend 30 minutes onmy business in this way, I'm going to

(15:23):
spend 30 minutes on my podcast in thisway, instead of scrolling and just
try to create some sort of boundary.
Now I know this seems like alot and letting go is hard.
It truly is.
We are a creatures ofhabit, but it is so needed.
I cannot express to you in anywords of how much different.

(15:46):
I feel letting go of those threetoxic people over the last 12 months.
Everything has changed.
I'm not sick all the time.
I went from having to get shots andinfusions of nutrients because my
body was actually rejecting nutrients.
It was not absorbing because I wasin such a heightened stress state.

(16:08):
Am I still in a heightened stress state?
Yes.
Is my body perfect?
No, but my weight is going down my sleep.
Oh my goodness.
I used to get two to threehours of sleep at most.
I am getting six to sevenhours a night of restful sleep.
Everything changes when you release sleep.
That toxic energy from your life.

(16:30):
So I really want you to get a pieceof this freedom and as you do and you
let go of these other things that nolonger serve you, I promise you new
opportunities will open up and they'llbe like nothing you've ever seen before.
It is insane what comesup when you make space.
The universe is a vacuum.
You move something out,it wants to be refilled.

(16:53):
You can choose what it gets refilled with.
I want you to know the bravest thingyou can do is to protect your energy
so you can show up authentically andbuild your podcast and your business
and get your message in the world.
We need what it is you have to say.
We need your story.
Your story could have been thestory that saved my life that day.

(17:18):
So I really, really want you totake this into consideration.
I know this is hard becauseletting go feels Like you failed.
Letting go is not a weakness.
It's a strategic move that can skyrocketyour authenticity, your creativity,
your success, your podcast growth, yourbank income, your impact with the world.

(17:44):
It can do everything.
So, you might need to drop somethings first, and it'll be okay.
Maybe you're droppingthe fear of missing out.
Maybe you're dropping anattachment to a mentor or a person.
But you know what?
I promise you that holding ontothese things is holding you back

(18:04):
more than you ever will know.
And I really need you to do this.
And I know this is a little heavy ofa topic for beyond the downloads, but
letting go is a huge part of rising.
We can't rise if we are beingdrugged down by the things that
are just keeping our energy.
It's like all those boulders are holdingyou in the water and you're trying to

(18:28):
reach for that life raft to get, you know.
to get out so you can get to shoreso you can be able to ship to bring
more life rafts to help others.
But you can't if you have all therocks of this toxic relationships
of excess platforms of thingsthat don't serve you of too many
mentors, it will hold you down.

(18:50):
And we don't want that.
So with that being said, I reallyhope that you take into consideration
looking at those areas, letting go ofsome things, creating some boundaries
and setting yourself up for this nextlevel because you don't have to take
an emotional beating to make money.

(19:10):
You don't have to bendthe rules and your values.
To be successful, I promise you that.
So go out, make today amazing becauseyou are beautiful, you are wonderful,
you are worthy, you are enough.
And your story deserves a microphone andwill make an impact in someone's life.

(19:30):
So go out and do the thing.
