This episode is the one & only solo ep ever recorded on Boombox. Marc dives into the powerhouse that is Sevendust—an unstoppable force made up of five incredibly talented musicians who’ve all proven their individual brilliance with solo releases and side projects of their own. Like Homer’s ode, in The Simpsons, to the many forms of pork, Sevendust is that “wonderful magical animal”—a band where each part is distinct and dynamic, yet together they create something greater than the sum of its parts.

 

Initially recorded in early 2021, Marc also reflects on the emotional weight of 2020, covid and how music—especially the raw honesty and heaviness of Sevendust—helped carry him through a year of uncertainty and isolation. This one’s for the fans who know that sometimes the heaviest music is what lifts you up the most.
