Speaker 1 (00:00):
You are no longer a safe space.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
It's always white woman running as an act is political.

Speaker 3 (00:05):
There were not both sides in Nazi Journey.

Speaker 4 (00:07):
Okay, just when you think the people that yapping on
TikTok can't get more unhinged, they somehow find a way.
We're going to break down the latest unhinged cancelation campaign
on the clock app, plus a bizarre controversy from a
pair of mega YouTubers and people on Reddit cheering on

(00:30):
violence against Trump supporters.

Speaker 5 (00:32):
Again.

Speaker 4 (00:33):
All this and so much more is coming up on
today's episode of The Bread Versus Everyone podcast, my daily
show where we take on the craziest ideas from across
the Internet, our media, and our politics, all from an
independent perspective. Up first, we got to talk about this
really bizarre and frankly, really unhinged saga. It's happening right
now with a running influencer on TikTok. Yes, someone who

(00:54):
makes content about fitness, about running and who interviews famous people. Well,
she's finding herself at the heart of a vicious cancelation
campaign and insane viral backlash for daring to collaborate with
a Republican. Her name is Kate Max and She has
nearly eight hundred thousand followers on TikTok. She hosts a
podcast and her content regularly gets millions of views where

(01:16):
she interviews famous people while running with them in these
kind of heartwarming and fun collaborations. For example, here's a
clip from her recent collaboration with professional tennis player named
Sloan Stevens.

Speaker 6 (01:27):
Hey, Holly, mos, are we running today? One?

Speaker 3 (01:30):
Hey guys, I'm Slim Stevens. I played professional tennis.

Speaker 6 (01:33):
I saw online that you're from Plantation, Florida. Yeah, and
you're the second person that I ran with from Plantation
who was the first person of diplo What.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
Now.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
Kate's guests and the people she collaborates with are usually
not overtly political. It's usually like actors or other influencers
or celebrities, but occasionally she has had famous people that
she's done videos with who are in the political realm,
Like right before the election and a few my before,
she did a video featuring Democratic vice presidential nominee and
Minnesota Governor Tim Walls. Here's a clip of that governor.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
How many miles are.

Speaker 6 (02:07):
We running today?

Speaker 7 (02:08):
Let's start with a mile and see what goes from there. Hey, everybody,
Tim Walls here, I happen to be the governor of
Minnesota right now? A VP candidate running a mile with.

Speaker 8 (02:15):
Kate in Central Park?

Speaker 6 (02:17):
What are you doing in New York City?

Speaker 7 (02:18):
We're here on the campaign fifteen days left? But did
you hear what you just said? We're running in Central Park?
How cool is that?

Speaker 4 (02:24):
That was unremarkable at the time. A prominent influencer collaborating
with a Democratic politician might as well be a day
that ends in why. And quite notably, there really wasn't
very much pushback or consternation from her Trump supporting followers,
of which he has many who are fans of running
or do it or like content about fitness. The sun

(02:44):
still rose the next day. Nobody melted down. Now, however,
Kate has dared to do the one thing that people
on TikTok, or at least the progressive side of TikTok,
simply cannot accept, and that is humanize a Republican. She
did a collaboration with Trump's White House Press secretary Caroline Levitt,
where Kate went to the White House did one of
her typical videos with her take a listen to the

(03:06):
first clip.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
Of this, Hey, how many miles, are you running today?

Speaker 9 (03:10):
No, Miles, because we're at the beautiful White House.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
But why don't I give you a tour? Let's do it.

Speaker 9 (03:13):
My name is Caroline Levitt. I am from New Hampshire
and I am the White House Press Secretary. And this
is the beautiful White House. We're currently walking on what
we call Pebble Beach. This is where all of the
press hang out.

Speaker 6 (03:23):
Guys, we have to stop for a second and look
at this. I can't believe you get to wake up
and be here every single day, and is this a
dream come true for you?

Speaker 9 (03:31):
It is a dream come true. The White House is
so beautiful, especially this time of year. So that's where
President Trump and the First family live. And then this
is the front entrance to the West Wing.

Speaker 6 (03:40):
What is your roles and responsibilities in the way.

Speaker 9 (03:42):
Yeah, my job is to relay the president's message and
his agenda and his views and feelings to the American
people through the press.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
So I watched this video when it first came out,
and I probably should have guessed that it would cause
this big firestorm, but I didn't at the time because
it's not that remarkable, it's not that controversial. She's just
featuring an important person in educating people about what her
job is in kind of a neutral way, like what
is the press secretary? Look at the White House? How
does it work? She's not like pushing right wing talking

(04:11):
points in the video or anything like that. The one
thing I did side eye a little bit was like,
you couldn't do the actual running that they normally do, Like,
come on, Caroline, there's a track at the White House.
Couldn't you change up and do a mile or so? Like,
I don't know. I thought that was a little lame
that she didn't go with the normal shtick of the influencer,
But not a big deal. She's a busy woman. There
was one small part of this video that came in

(04:34):
for a lot of criticism that I really didn't get.
Let's take a look at that.

Speaker 9 (04:37):
By the way, this is the president's tesla, which he
so generously has told staff that we are allowed to
drive if we wish to take it out. I haven't
taken him up on the offer, but maybe I will soon.

Speaker 6 (04:48):
If you guys see Caroline whipping around that ride tesla, no,
you know why?

Speaker 4 (04:53):
So people are attacking Kate for an undisclosed paid tesla
ad here and look, if she was paid by Tesla
RelA or somebody to do that portion of the video
and didn't disclose it, that would be unethical and potentially illegal. Actually,
But like, does anyone else think that's probably not an
ad and is probably just an actual thing that happened
in conversation. Trump has been pushing Tesla's from the White

(05:15):
House and has been very outspoken about that. So if
you're doing an interview or a tour with the of
the White House with the Press secretary, like, promotion of
Tesla's happening organically is not wild, Like is not unlikely
in my view. So I thought the people criticizing her
for that, I thought were stretching a little bit absent.
Some facts are evidence proving she was paid for it,
which I just don't think is true. But I don't know.

(05:36):
I guess now we're going to get into the backlash,
and when I tell you, it is some of the
most unhinged stuff I've seen in a while on TikTok,
which is saying something. I mean it. But we're going
to get into all of it after this. The trans
debate is getting insane. My pronouns aren't preferred.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
They are mandatory.

Speaker 4 (05:52):
The only way to figure out what's actually going on
is with ground News, and amazing service that I've used
for years and used to prepare this show. Ground News
gathers news from all across the world in one place,
so you could see what both sides are saying make
up your own mind. It also shows you everything you
need to know about a source's ownership, bias, and factuality.

(06:12):
Take the recent UK Supreme Court decision, for example. Using
ground News, you can see how outlets on the left
are spinning it. The Independent wrote Supreme Court ruling just
the latest curb on trans rights worldwide. LUs you can
see how right wing media is covering the story. The
Daily Wire wrote UK Supreme Court rules trans identifying men
are not women. That's quite the difference. Using ground News,

(06:35):
you can get a neutral summary of every story, see
how both sides are framing it, see who's covering the
story at all and who isn't, and most importantly, use
your critical thinking skills to make up your mind for yourself.
You can get the same plan that I use, which
is the Vantage subscription, if you sign up through my link,
ground dot News, slash Brad or scan the QR code
on screen. Get forty percent off unlimited access, which comes

(06:58):
out to about five dollars a month. Exclusive discount is
available now through this link. So act now to break
your media bubble and keep your critical thinking skills sharck.
So the backlash started from the moment she posted the
video in her very own comment section. She got a
number of comments like these, can't wait for the Putin
video next? Oh, Kate, this is disappointing. Eighty one thousand

(07:21):
people like that comment. Can't wait to see you run
with Diddy next. Okay, that one did make me laugh.
Not gonna lie. But video after video after video was
made by other content creators and influencers bashing Kate for
daring to go collaborate with a Republican official and humanize
her God forbid, and honestly, some of it was hilarious,

(07:43):
like this one video.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
Take a listen, Runner girl gone Republican. I'm gonna speak
on it as a runner boy gone Democrat. So the
absolute audacity, the hypocrisy to create a community, to bring
people into your fold and say I am safe, I
am for all of you. I want to learn about everyone.
I'm just a girl with energy. I want to run

(08:04):
with you, I'm safe.

Speaker 10 (08:05):
I believe that I reached out to her. I wanted
to run with her, and it didn't work out. So
like I thought she was someone that was worth my time.
I thought she was someone that would be accepting of me.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
I wanted to run with her and donate money to
an LGBT charity, like I fell for it. So to
bamboozle us all and then go work with this administration.
I don't care if you like didn't get paid, did
get paid. I don't care if your agenda is truly
just to see everyone hear everyone's story. It doesn't matter
to me. This administration is completely against the community that

(08:41):
you have built, all of the success that you have,
all of the money that you have gotten, you owe
everything to them. Read the room. You are no longer
a safe space.

Speaker 4 (08:50):
The fact that he said you are no longer a
safe space unronically in twenty twenty five was just so
Chef's kiss to me, so funny, so ironic. Seriously, we're
still doing this absurd victim mentality where POC and minorities are, Oh,
they need to be sheltered and protected in safe spaces.
It's giving white savior. No one it's giving that you

(09:13):
don't actually respect these minorities. You think they're mentally fragile.
You think that watching a video of maybe a political
official that they may not support but also might a
lot of them voted for this, by the way, is
somehow going to harm them or cause them a problem,
or like harm her community. I don't know if you
realize that, but what you're saying is that the minorities,
the people of color, the LGBT people who watch their

(09:33):
videos are like emotional toddlers who need to be coddled
and protected. And that is not the progressive take you
think it is. It's actually reductionist and condescending, especially because again,
some of those people might support this administration. And even
if they don't, they're adults who should be able to
regulate their emotions and deal with a video coming across
their feed that if they don't like it, they can
always just swipe away. What a wild concept, right, And

(09:56):
I loved it because this guy sounded salty, like he
wanted to collaborate with her, and she never responded, so
he was salty, and I thought you were a safe space.
Maybe she just thought you were annoying and cringe and
honestly she would have been right Now. Tim Walls's daughter,
Hope Walls, who is becoming sort of like a progressive
influencer online, she joined in on this pylon. Here's what

(10:18):
she had.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
To say, Running as an act is political. And you
know who taught me that, Tim Walls. The first thing
he told me when I was first getting into it
in high school is that running is a privilege. In
being a part of the running community is a privilege
that not all people have access to. Whether you do
it recreationally, or you race a lot, or you are
you know, at the elite level, it is a privilege,

(10:41):
whether it be you just having the time to run,
access to funds to buy the gear, access to you know,
healthy quality foods that fuel you as your training and
as you're running, access to you know, a safe, stable
situation that allows you to be in a good mental
state to be able to run. All of those things

(11:04):
are hard to come by, and if you have them
and are a part of the running community, that is
a privilege.

Speaker 4 (11:10):
So this made me roll my eyes so hard, I
think I gave myself a headache, because, Babe, the fact
that your dad, Tim Walls, the democratic vice presidential nominee
would actually tell his daughter, you know, running is political,
and we got to be mindful of our white privilege
that allows us to purchase sneakers and go for a jog. Yeah,
maybe that's why he lost because he is so cartoonishly
obsessed with identity and he does buy into such an

(11:33):
absurd worldview, because that's actually ridiculous. Running is not particularly political,
and by the logic here, well, you need food to
be able to run, you need to be able to
afford a pair of sneakers, so that if therefore it's political,
But that logic literally everything is political, so at that
point the connotation has no meaning. In reality, people from

(11:54):
all different walks of life and people of different backgrounds
can go for a jog, can sign up and run races,
unless I mean their destitute and have absolutely no disposable income.
But then that not being able to run a five
k is probably the least to their concerns. It's just
weird because if anything, running is like one of the
most accessible sports, with like the lowest bar to entry

(12:14):
and barriers to entry, so to make it like a
privileged thing is just an enormous stretch. Obviously, there are
some things like you know, needing to be in an
area that's runnable rather than like lots of highways or
other things. But it's just like a real stretch and
making everything political and everything about privilege and all this
is exhausting and is exactly why people don't like progressivis.

(12:37):
But they really don't seem to be getting the memo.
But there was more from Hope Walls take a listen.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
So I don't really understand how platforming and administration that
cuts mental health services, cuts you know, funding and literal
shipments to food banks, cutting you know, funds to climate initiatives,
and actively hurting the planet in that way, sending people
away without due process, villainize, villainizing minorities. All of those

(13:04):
things are preventing people from getting into the running community,
which is what I thought Kate's platform was for. But
it's also just damaging to society as a whole. We
should not be normalizing these people. I'm not going to
tell anyone what to do with their page, but I
think it's insulting to my dad to leave a certain
video pinned, especially when he stands for quite literally the
opposite of what this administration is doing. You don't get

(13:25):
to both sides this. It's not both sides. We are
quite literally talking about good versus evil here, and I'm
just really disappointed the whole thing happened.

Speaker 4 (13:33):
Well, guys, didn't you know Hope Walls, at twenty four
years old, understands what's good and what's evil, and she's
decided at all for us. None of these issues are
complicated or complex at all. She has spoken, So now
the debate is really settled. Everything about this take rubbed
me the wrong way. In shan and platform, anyone who
uses the word platform as a verb is nine times

(13:54):
out of ten going to be making a silly point
or just trying to shut up arguments rather than refute them.
But in this case, specifically, the idea that some TikToker
with eight hundred thousand followers is platforming Caroline Levitt is ridiculous.
She is the face of the White House. Every day,
every news station in America picks up her message. Clips
of her go viral every single day. She's literally reaching

(14:16):
hundreds of millions of people all the time. One little
running collab video that's not really political isn't going or
at least not partisan, isn't going to make a difference.
You're not platforming anyone. There's just this real problem where
influencers vastly overestimate their own importance. They are important, they
do have influence, but in their minds they're like the
gatekeepers to all of society, and you're really not. And

(14:38):
I love this idea that, like, you can't collaborate with
someone if they disagree with spending money on Green New
Deal style climate change programs. Really, as if that's going
to make any difference whether we spend a few billion
dollars more on electric vehicle subsidies. Yeah, that's really going
to change whether the environment outside is okay in your
local neighborhood for you to go to our run. The

(14:58):
math is not mathing. And I love how she's like,
I'm not going to tell you how to use your platform,
but here's how you should use your platform, Like come on.
And also just the entitlement that, like, you shouldn't be
able to keep my dad's video on your page if
you're also going to platform the other side. That's what
always strikes me about these kinds of progressives. It's certainly
not all liberals, not all democrats, not all progressives, but

(15:18):
some of them seem entitled in this way that like
they shouldn't even have to share the same spaces with
the other side. The other side doesn't even deserve an
equal hearing or their chance to make their perspective or
their personalities seen and heard. And that's just a degree
of entitlement that you are not entitled to in a
democratic country where people get to choose from both options.

(15:41):
You don't win by default, and the entire media ecosystem
is not supposed to be in the tank for you
just because you're the liberals. Now, sometimes that's how it
works out, but that's not how it's supposed to be.
And kudos to Kate for not doing that with her platform. Now,
I saved the craziest video of all for last. Take
a listen to this video, which got over a million

(16:02):
views over one hundred thousand likes. Lashing out at Kate
in part because she's a white woman or something.

Speaker 3 (16:08):
NamUs, Kate, I'm a running influencer, and I do not
use my social media to platform fascists with some like
both sides shit when we really know if you look
at history, like there were not both sides in Nazi Germany. Okay,
ask a historian, read the news, read a fucking book.
It's always white women. It's always white women. And I
feel like with my platforms and like when I'm making

(16:29):
these political videos that are speaking to influencers, I am
speaking to these white women influencers that have huge followings. Like, Hey,
if you want to say, like I'm uneducated about politics
or I want to stay neutral with my platforms, you
are telling your followers of color that are trans that
are impacted by the Trump administration, that are immigrants, that

(16:50):
you don't give a about them. A Max put something
up on her story like I'm getting so much hate
for doing this interview, Like what the Yeah, obviously you
shouldn't get hate, but you do something. It was an
action that you chose. You chose to take a check
from the Trump administration, and there's consequences from it.

Speaker 4 (17:07):
I am begging woke people to learn about any other
historical example, Like literally, can y'all just come up with
one comparison to a different time period than Nazi Germany?
Because it is so tired and as extreme as I
honestly think this second Trump administration has been, and as
much as I disagree with some things that they are doing,

(17:27):
and really object very strongly to some of them. Comparing
them to a fascist regime that killed six million Jews
is absurd, and it is offensive to the Jewish community,
to the memory of Holocaust survivors to politicize and weaponize
their trauma and their suffering in that kind of a way.
And again, spare me this platforming nonsense. Caroline Levitt has

(17:48):
probably the biggest platform in America right now, second only
to Donald Trump himself or maybe Elon Musk. So some
influencer doing a fun QC video with her is not
moving the needle on that whatsoever. And again, you probably
shouldn't accuse Kate of having taken a check from the
Trump administration unless you have some proof of that, because
I can tell you it is not normal for a

(18:08):
collaboration like this that the White House would be paying
the influencer. Now, it's sort of beneficial to the influencer
because they'll get exposure, they'll potentially get a lot of views,
and it's a cool experience, so like it's benefiting them.
I don't know this for sure, but I find it
very unlikely, being in a similar business in space, that
the White House directly paid Kate for this collaboration, and

(18:29):
you shouldn't be suggesting that unless you have some evidence,
and the evidence was not in the room with us,
not in this one, and again like making this all
about white women, white women, white women. This white women
that democrats and progressives, especially the online TikTok types need
to learn America does not like your collectivist, identitarian language
and rhetoric and the way you carve people up into

(18:50):
groups and lump us all in together. How about you
start treating people like individuals and stop with the constant
group demonization and stereotyping while having the audacity to call
yourself progressive. This whole saga just strikes me as incredibly unhinged,
and it feels like something that should have been left
behind in twenty twenty. Like I thought we weren't doing
this kind of cancel culture stuff anymore, but apparently, at

(19:12):
least on TikTok, they haven't gotten the memo. To be clear,
Kate probably should have anticipated that this would not be
a popular decision and that she would get a lot
of pushback, But I don't blame her. She didn't expect
it to get this back. She's basically been the villain
of the Internet for like a week, all because she
did a video with Caroline Levitt that humanized her, that
showed her, explained about her as a person and didn't

(19:33):
really push a partisan agenda or right wing talking finds
so much, but just got to know her, just put
a face, but put a personality behind, you know, the
combative figure you see on TV and the political figure. Actually,
I think we need more of that in our politics,
not less. Remembering that no matter how strong our disagreements are,
the other side is still human. There's still multifaceted people

(19:54):
with shades of gray, who are in almost all cases
not all good or all bad. Because it's the dehumanization,
it's the black and white thinking that eventually bleeds over
into political violence. And whether it's the cult of Luigi Mangioni,
whether it's the assassination culture, whether it's right wing political violence,
any of it, I'm strongly against it. But seeing the

(20:14):
other side as people still as having aspects of humanity
and personality that we might not know just from their
political like kind of spearheading as a political figure is
actually really important to avoiding a dark, dark future of
this country where political violence becomes more prevalent. So I
think Kate did something positive and certainly doesn't deserve this

(20:36):
degree of backlash. But what do you guys think? Let
me know in the comments, and please do consider subscribing
if you haven't yet, do hit that like button while
you're at it. Plus, remember to send voice notes with
your woecar stories, your personal scenarios that you need advice about,
or anything else you want to pick my brain on
for me to respond to in an upcoming episode. Plus

(20:56):
check out my brad versus Everyone merch line linked in
the description. Up next, we got to check in with
these maga YouTubers, the Hodge Twins, who just hosted a
very extreme figure in a long, wide ranging conversation that
took a turn and ended up in a pretty dark
and unhinged place. The Hodge Twins, who are popular on

(21:17):
YouTube and hosts a podcast, had Nick Fuentes, who is
an alt right influencer who is openly racist, openly anti semitic,
extremely homophobic, openly sexist, and guys, I don't throw those
words around lightly. I don't just call people bigots, but him,
it's just indisputable if you look at the things he
said and the way he talks about groups of people.
They hosted him, and I'm not against that. I'm not

(21:40):
against platforming controversial people. But they didn't really provide meaningful
pushback or disagree with him or challenge him on things.
And it turned into just kind of a multi hour
chat session where they went back and forth and said
some extreme things like this bizarre sentence that came out
of one of their mouths. Take a look, listen to this,

(22:00):
and warning, this is.

Speaker 5 (22:02):
Dark when you think you know something but you feel
like a dope. So that's why people don't want to
interview you.

Speaker 11 (22:15):
Yeah, yeah, because I mean what do people have to
gain from interviewing me?

Speaker 5 (22:19):
I mean, you get Cady, just give up now? So
making sense now?

Speaker 1 (22:27):
You know?

Speaker 5 (22:29):
Yeah, it's crazy. Yeah, how corrupt our government is? We
actually are the United States of visual you're funding everything
for them.

Speaker 4 (22:40):
Right, I'm not laughing. I don't think that's funny. I
think it's okay to make extreme and edgy jokes, and like,
I would absolutely defend a stand up comedian who had
some sort of joke about Hitler or the Holocaust and
his stand up routine, but like that's not what this is.
This is a political commentary channel this is a political

(23:02):
podcast and just saying Hitler is right and then laughing hysterically.
There's not a joke there, there's not a punchline. You're
just saying insane things with the kind of cover that, oh,
they're just joking. Nick Fuentes, isn't. He probably actually thinks
that and has said extremely anti Semitic things and hateful
things in the past. I don't know. Maybe for the

(23:23):
Hans Twins that's just an attempt at a joke, But
to me, I would never speak that way about such
an evil figure who killed six million Jews and millions
of other innocent people. And it just comes off as
so crass, so attention seeking, Like, can't you bring attention
upon yourself for something positive, for having something insightful to say,

(23:44):
for being entertaining in some sort of positive way, not
just through this low brow anti semitic shock jock commentary.
I mean it, really, it feels like he just said
that and then intentionally left it in the episode just
so it could get clipped and so people could talk
about it. And maybe I'm playing into that, obviously I
actually am, But to me, it's just a contemptible way
to use your platform as a public figure, especially in

(24:06):
a time when you know, I have my criticisms of Israel,
and I certainly don't support everything they're doing, but there's
a real rise in anti Semitism and it is not warranted.
And the Jewish people have endured so much over the
years and are enduring discrimination, harassment now in many parts
of the Western world. And so look, I'll always defend
edgy comedy in an actual comedic setting, but you can't

(24:26):
just say insane, hateful, antisemitic things and then laugh after.
So you can say it's a joke, at some point,
it's not a joke. And yeah, you know why people
don't want to interview Nick Fuentes because he's openly racist,
because he's openly anti Semitic, because he's crazy, frankly, And
doesn't mean he shouldn't be interviewed if he's a person
of influence, but it means he should be challenged, they

(24:46):
should be held to account and scrutinize. He absolutely shouldn't
be interviewed in this kind of way where you're just verbally,
you know, nodding along with him and agreeing with everything
he says like a puppet, even when He says he
doesn't want to live around black people, like I would
hope that you would have some self respect to stick
up for I would stick up for black people if
someone said that kind of thing around me, any sort

(25:08):
of group being demonized in such a collective way, but
especially if you're a part of that group. You got
to have a little spine at some point and stick
up for yourself, not just be a doormat for people
that hate you. I mean, listen to this second clip,
it's more of the same.

Speaker 5 (25:21):
Have you seen people they actually call you a fan?

Speaker 11 (25:23):
Now, yeah, that's a new thing. Yeah, didn't take a lot.
I was a Nazi for four years and now I'm
a fat I can't win. Yeah, at least a Nazi
thing was close to being true.

Speaker 5 (25:40):
You know.

Speaker 4 (25:41):
Yeah, sorry, But if you think it's better to be
a Nazi then to be a fed to work for
the FBI or the federal government, in some way, you've
lost the plot. Like you're you're just crazy. I don't
know how to say that. And I love how he
doesn't even really deny that he's basically a neo Nazi.
He doesn't deny that he's a white nationalist That's the
thing I'll give him credit for, is he's open and

(26:01):
honest about it. So that's why I think. I mean,
I think he's a horrible human being, but he doesn't
bother me in the way that other people just like
embracing him for clicks or views or because they think
it might generate some controversy or something bother me more.
It's like, don't you have any moral standards, don't you
have any principles? Or do you just will you do
anything for clicks? Like is there any limit to who
you would have on and just laugh along with as

(26:23):
they say crazy things? Do you feel any sense of
obligation with the microphone that you have? I would, But
that's just me now. I will say that, no matter
how contemptible I find Nick fuent As to be, the
way that he has been censored and blacklisted by the
financial system and the federal government is uncalled for and

(26:44):
is frankly kind of orwellian. Take a listen to what
he describes about all that in this same interview.

Speaker 11 (26:49):
No, I'm banned on PayPal, stripe, banned from every payment processor,
every bank, so I'm forced to deal with either e
check in some cases or cryptocurrency.

Speaker 5 (27:01):
That's it.

Speaker 11 (27:02):
That's all I could do.

Speaker 5 (27:02):
Wow, that is nut too.

Speaker 11 (27:04):
People can't believe it when I tell him that, because
it's so you know, you think it's basic.

Speaker 5 (27:08):
When you find out that when this happened to you,
what reason did they give you? They'll give you reason geez.

Speaker 11 (27:14):
Yeah, that's the worst part because it'd be one thing
that they sent you a letter and they said, you
know you said this, you did that, here's our terms
of service that you violated, because then you could contest it.
But they don't have to give you reason. So it's
I was on the no fly list, same deal. They
don't even tell you you're on that. You know, it's
confidential law enforcement information. So the only way you find

(27:35):
out is they just deny you with your boarding. And
same thing with the banks. They just send you a letter,
we're done doing business with you. That it's the opaqueness,
which is the worst part.

Speaker 4 (27:46):
And so two things can be true at the same time.
Nick Fuentez is a horrible person who uses his platform
to spew just genuine hate and insanity on a daily basis,
and he shouldn't be treated this way. Frankly, Basically, no
one should be treated this way, but on the no
fly list because of their ideas. So the federal government
is restricting your right to travel, stopping you from going

(28:08):
on an airplane because you're what. They hate your views,
they don't like them. That's a huge First Amendment problem
to me, because free speech includes hate speech or speech
that we hate, and I might hate Nick quent As
his speech, but he's still an American, he still has
First Amendment rights. And then there's like a huge due
process problem here, because the Constitution guarantees everyone due process

(28:29):
in America, and it's not a due process if you're
put on this list that restricts your right to travel,
but not even told why, and often not given much
of a way to contest it. It's a whole mess,
that whole system that I could get into. But yeah,
I mean, think whatever you want of him. Nick Quentas
isn't going to be a security threat going on a
plane to somewhere. There's no reason to believe that. So
they're just punishing him for his ideology, and the government

(28:52):
shouldn't be doing that, no matter how odious his views
may be. I feel the same way about the financial sector, Like, look,
I don't want my banks playing morality police, and we
shouldn't be debanking people because they have the wrong ideas.
Payment processors like PayPal shouldn't be doing this. I know
that they do, but I have a serious issue with that.
And it's not going to stop with actually extreme or

(29:13):
controversial or hateful people like Nick Fuentez. This kind of thing.
Once it starts there, it always creeps in and in
and in, And I do not want these institutions like
do your job, stick to banking, stick your transferring money,
fulfilling an important service and function to society. No one
elected you, no one declared you moral or political leaders,
or gave you the right or asked you to start

(29:34):
declaring people beyond the pale, and like deleting them from society.
It's giving dystopian it's giving overreach. And I don't trust
these banks or these financial systems with that kind of
power that I don't remember signing up to give them,
do you. I don't. So that's kind of my take
on all this. I think a lot of these mega
influencers are just becoming extreme for extremity's sake. They're just

(29:56):
saying things for clicks. They're just obviously we had too
much cancel culture. We had too much censorship, like you
couldn't speak your mind, you couldn't say the truth about
certain things. But at the same time, like now, it
feels like a lot of people on the right just
have no standards at all. And while I don't want
people censored, I also don't think that you should just
anything goes, promote any message, associate with any person whatsoever,

(30:17):
because that's a failing of your own integrity and standards.
But that's just my take. You guys, let me know
what you think in the comments below. And now we
got to check in on a wild story because a
public school teacher is going viral after writing on Facebook
that Trump and his allies should be killed, and some
people on the internet are lauding this person as a hero.

(30:37):
First to listen to some local news coverage catch us
up on this story, and warning, guys, this is alarming.

Speaker 8 (30:43):
A post on social media allegedly by a high school
teacher in Waterville has gone viral in a matter of
hours and grabbed the attention of federal investigators.

Speaker 12 (30:51):
That teacher making threats against the president and those working
for him. That post just went up yesterday afternoon, and
the teacher has made several subsequent posts defending her stance.
She says Trump and those around him need to die.

Speaker 8 (31:05):
As a quote please saying they are aware. The Secret
Service confirming to Maine's Total Coverage they're aware of that post,
but cannot comment on matters involving protective intelligence, the FBI
telling us they can neither confirm nor deny.

Speaker 12 (31:20):
We've also reached out to the Waterville School superintendent to
get an update on the teacher's employment status. We have
not heard back, though she is still listed on the
school's website, and right now, because no charges have been filed,
we are not sharing her name.

Speaker 4 (31:34):
Yeah, so this is insane. I mean, look, you have
every right to disagree with Trump. One am out of office,
one am impeached, even locked up, But calling for him
and his supporters and his allies to be killed is
a bridge too far, is violent, is unhinged, and is
morally wrong, no matter how strongly you object to some
of the things that they are doing. Also, I will
just never cease to be amazed by the stupidity of

(31:56):
it all. Like, if you're going to post this kind
of thing, or say this kind of thing, going to
post it on social media with your whole chest and
not expect the FBI, the Secret Service to be knocking
on your door that day, like you are threatening the
sitting president of the United States and not exactly getting
away with it when you publicly post about it. Like
even just from a logical, self interested perspective, it's not

(32:18):
exactly Genius of the month type stuff. And I personally
would not want somebody with such extreme views and such
clear bad judgment in a position of responsibility or authority
over my kids. As a high school teacher. I don't
know what this person teaches, but honestly, regardless, like I
just would not want that person teaching my kid or
in a position of authority. I would be deeply uncomfortable

(32:39):
with that. But even more disturbing than what this random
one teacher did is the fact that a lot of
people online are celebrating her as if she's some hero,
especially on the internet hellhole known as Reddit. In a
Reddit thread about Maine, one user shared the teacher's post
and wrote, Waterville teacher and a Maria can Patriot facing

(33:01):
calls to step down by traders over Facebook posts, They're
okay with pardoning. January sixth, terrorists traders to our country
and our democracy, but not with a Facebook post condemning
the current fascist regime. I wish every teacher had half
the courage and loyalty to our country as she has
shown here. A lot of problems with this post. For one,

(33:24):
the teacher did a lot more than just condemn the
regime or the administration, which she would absolutely be in
her rights to do. She openly and brazenly called for violence.
That is a different story. Two, the people calling for
her to step down and be removed from her job.
You might disagree with them, we can have a debate
about it, but like they're not traders for not wanting
somebody who is seemingly unhinged teaching kids. That's actually, I

(33:47):
think a pretty understandable and reasonable perspective to have. And
I was very critical of Trump's decision to pardon violent
offenders in the January sixth riots. But the other side,
being a with violence doesn't mean you should also be,
at least not if you have any moral standards or integrity,
rather than just trying to own the Libs or own

(34:09):
the Conservatives at any costs. There was even more unhinged
stuff in this thread, though all the other people in
the comments condemning this, do you guys live under a rock?
They voted just recently to deport American citizens, not just
illegal immigrants. It's all fun and games and not gonna
actually happen to me though, until we are in the
police state, just like El Salvador. They should all educate

(34:29):
themselves on the dictators our own president worships and how
they go about treating their own people, all free on YouTube.
Good for this lady, though, Seriously I feel for her,
I really do, But we can't rely on any FEDS
that are left. They are all loyal to Trump. Maybe
not all the military, but unfortunately, the FBI, the CIA,
all of it clearly wants what Trump does when they

(34:49):
collaborate with Ice as they have been doing, and they
arrest judges as well because they rightfully put Trump in
his place. Another commenter wrote, the same people condemning this
rap tame posts are the same ones who have comment
histories calling for violence against the illegal immigrants and excusing
all the vile shit MAGA does. So I doubt that.

(35:10):
I mean, maybe there are a few people who are
condemning this post but also have said violent things about
other issues in the past, but like you realize, two
wrongs still make it right, right, Like it's wrong to
call for violence against the illegal immigrants even if you support
them being deported. But just because they do that doesn't
mean your right to call for violence. That means you're
doing the same thing as them. You see that, right,

(35:31):
And there's a lot more in this post that's just
like unhinged and not true. Like the judge they're talking
about here wasn't arrested for ruling against Trump. Tons of
judges have done that, sometimes correctly so in my view,
and haven't been arrested. That judge was accused in a
very serious criminal complaint of helping a illegal immigrant who
was accused of domestic violence I believe, avoid arrests by

(35:54):
ice by smuggling him out of her courtroom through a
private passageway, which would be a crimes. So if that's true,
I mean innoc until proven guilty. But like she, she's
being prosecuted for an actual crime, not just for disagreeing
with the Trump administration. So like your d Lulu is
showing now, I'd love to tell myself that this is
just a few crazy people on Reddit, and to some
extent it might be, but when you look at the polling,

(36:16):
you do see increased support for political violence and people
worshiping this kind of dark and unhinged rhetoric. And I'm
really concerned about that because if it continues to spread
and become more popular, I mean, that's the kind of
sentiment that puts us somewhere down the line on a
path towards open civil unrest and conflict, or even civil war.

(36:36):
What do you guys think have you seen similarly unhinged
things on Reddit in your own viewing time? Do let
me know in the comments, and do hit that like
button while you're at it. All right, guys, that'll be
it for this episode of the Brad Versus Everyone Podcast.
