Bill and Darrell talk about the recent Whiskey riot event in Dallas. There are many of these all over the country and there may be one near you. My Infinity bottle happens to be a Lone Elm bottle signed by the master distiller. They also discuss infinity bottles and why you should start one. They also talk about the cool glencarin sling made perfectly for these types of events.

(00:00):
Alright, welcome to the newest episode.

(00:02):
In the newest episode, we're gonna have the Dovidov Winston Churchill and an infinity
bottle we made from Whiskey Riot.
What?
What?
You're hanging out with Bill and Daryl with cigars, liquor, and more.
Okay, the Dovidov Winston Churchill is a 6x50.

(00:28):
I think it says 54, but it measured 50 on my gauge.
With an Ecuadorian wrapper, Nicaraguan and Dominican filler and Mexican binder with
an MSRP of $25 heavy hitter.
Boy.
Now, we went to Whiskey Riot this last weekend.
Whiskey Riot, Dallas.

(00:51):
And we'll talk about that.
And what we do is instead of pouring out the whiskey that you don't drink from your sample,
we just pour it into a bottle.
And then we bring that bottle home and add it to an infinity bottle and you have an
infinity bottle.
So that's what we have.
We have the Whiskey Riot infinity bottle today.

(01:12):
And why not?
Why not?
So the idea isn't, is this going to be a great, great, what would you call it?
Bourbon whiskey whiskey.
This is going to be a great whiskey.
It's just a whiskey at this point because you do not know what the percentage of corn
is.

(01:33):
I don't know what the percentage of anything else.
We know there's some barley.
We know there's some wheat.
We know there's some some.
There's everything.
Right.
We know.
Yeah, there's frigging everything in there.
Mm hmm.
The whole thing there's not is scotch.
None of the whiskeys are like a peded or smoky.

(01:54):
But there's finished whiskeys.
There's bottle proof, a barrel proof.
There's cast strength.
There's 80s.
There's bourbon.
There's, there's, yeah, just everything.
There's some pidellop reel in there.
Oh, did you?
Yes, I did.
Oh, I drank all mine.
I poured.
Well, I got a second sip from it.

(02:16):
Oh, OK.
I've been there.
All right.
So there's not all of it.
I just...
A little cinnamon toast crunch in there.
Uh huh.
Anyway.
It was pretty good.
The idea, the idea is how would an infinity bottle rank against stuff?
So I am going to put it in the mix and then we'll rank it and say maybe an infinity bottle
is worth making.

(02:37):
Now this is definitely, definitely a blended whiskey.
Mm hmm.
Yeah, this would be considered a blended whiskey.
Oh, look at us.
Look how posh we are.
So we've spoken a David office.
David office were gifts from my wife for Christmas.
Mm hmm.

(02:58):
Beautiful.
Yeah.
She's a wonderful woman.
She is.
For more than that reason.
Yes, yes, yes, yes.
You won't get me arguing about that.
I'd love me some gin.
All right.
Letting the uh, gar settle in.
I go, oh, I am like a little.
I didn't apparently light it completely at the corner.

(03:20):
Come on, my head.
Okay.
It comes across as about 115 proof.
That I would not be surprised.
Yeah.
Yeah.
The aroma does it.
Let's get ourself a nose here.
The aroma comes off a little hot, but not much.
You know what I do not get?
What's that?
Smack of vanilla.
No, it it um, I know it's going to sound funny, but there's that it's got a strong undertone

(03:46):
of that classic Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey smell.
And then there's fruitiness, which is probably a bunch of finished stuff.
But you know, for the looking at the legs and and smell, I would agree about it.
I bet it's 110 proof because we did have a lot of cast drink stuff.

(04:08):
I attended the pickleable, a cast mix.
Yeah.
Almost everything I poured in right was over a hundred.
If it was under a, there was only one that was under a hundred proof that I poured in.
It's just because I liked it.
Look at those legs.
I know.
They stay.
They stay like they're glued up there.
Yeah, I'm just, they're still.

(04:29):
Wow.
Okay.
Let me get it.
Did you take us in?
Oh, yeah.
That's why I said 115 proof.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's warm.
It comes off.
It comes off.
Gosh.
Yes.
It's interesting.
So like I was saying, everything except for one that I added to this was a hundred or

(04:50):
above.
I did put some bottle and bonds in there.
But except for one, that was it.
The color.
Oh, it's got a great color.
It's pretty dark.
It's a dark.
It's not just the red walls either.
No, I'm holding it up against the carbonyl.

(05:13):
Yeah.
It's pretty dang cool bottle.
You know what, I mean, it's not as weird as I thought it'd be.
I mean, there's fruitiness and it's got a really basic bourbon kind of back to it.

(05:35):
The mix of flavors is really interesting.
You know, you know how when you when you when you get one of those scotches that just
explodes in your mouth, I have no idea what that is.
This does that.
So I'm not getting that.
What I think is that really?

(05:57):
I do.
I and maybe you need to get past the highness of it.
I didn't pour any scotch in.
So there's no scotch in this.
The spices that you get off of rise.
Yeah.
Because there are a number of rise in here.
Oh, there's plenty of right in here.
You can tell that.

(06:18):
Yeah.
You can taste that it's mixed with it's mixed with some really high proof rise.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I was surprised how many not what there were.
Five or six hundred proof rise at the offering.
Oh, at least.
And then several more that were above 75%.

(06:41):
Yeah.
It was it was a pretty darn good show on for for a high proof or a high content rise.
Okay.
So have we I feel like I feel like the cigars settled.
How are you feeling about it?
It's a Davenport.
It was it was settled the moment you purchased it.

(07:04):
Now, here's one thing I will note is there is a number of the davenos I've had.
And there's a common thread.
My all of them that you're like, Yep.
Yep.
You know it as soon as you have it, right?
This one's not that.
This is different.
This one doesn't scream.

(07:26):
I'm that it's just it doesn't have that one characteristic thing.
I'm always identifying as a daveno.
Maybe it's got it's got a little bit of cream, a little dry, which is weird because it's
it's a little bit of both.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It hits different parts of your palate, but it does come across that way.

(07:49):
And in the mouth, it comes off creamy, but in the back of the throat, it comes off dry.
I'm drawing a blank.
What is that?
What's that would have got right up there?
I can't be sure, but is it a cedar cedar?
Hmm.
Almost a little almost theater?
Yes.
It's awfully quite for a cedar.

(08:11):
Okay.
It's it's I would get the almond maple.
It's almost got a little cedar flavor to it.
Okay.
Almost.
It's definitely got a woody component.
So I would say it's forward flavor is wood.
Yes.
The retrohale is peppier than I would have imagined.

(08:33):
And it's it persists in the mouth.
The retrohale.
I didn't think it was that bad.
Really?
Well, no, then I would have imagined for Davinov.
No, okay.
Got you.
Got you.
I missed that part.
I wouldn't pay any attention.
Surprise.
It is.
It's it's very woody, but it has has some background of.

(08:57):
Some other spices because it's sort of like it's that it's the rye version of a cigar.
There's some there's a lot of people generally describe that as like a red pepper instead
of a black pepper.
So maybe it is a little bit of a red pepper in there, but not a lot.

(09:18):
Maybe there's some other I want to call them rich, right?
Like rich flavors.
Like something in there is kind of rich.
That's the creamy part a little bit.
It's called Davinov.
But the flavor, not not the feeling.
It's fun.
Did you know?
Davinov is widely considered to be the pioneer in climate controlled settings for cigars.

(09:48):
I didn't know that.
Zino, I think it was.
Zino, yeah.
Yeah.
It is is credited with being the first one to do that in their home shop and Switzerland
or something.
That makes sense.
I mean, this we don't get cold in the Caribbean and in Central America.

(10:14):
Nope.
So of course they would have to buy your temperature control or nothing with ever age.
But it would just dry out and dry out, like a part on.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That makes total sense.
Necessity, the mother of invention.
Absolutely.
That's why air conditioning was invented in Houston.

(10:37):
Well, yeah.
You want to get out the humidity?
Yeah.
Well, yeah, his goal was humidity control.
Yes.
Not necessarily get it out.
He also needed to add it.
It was it was a delicate balance.
Yeah.
He needed for the photo process, it needed to be 50%, humidity needed to be 50%.

(11:02):
So right.
And stay in one place.
Yeah.
I found out he could take it away and add it back.
And easier to add it.
And then boom air conditioning.
All right.
Hey, you got a love dual purpose inventions.
All right.
We talk about whiskey riot.

(11:24):
Ah.
Okay.
So this is an annual event that happens in Fair Park in downtown Dallas.
They sell two styles of tickets of VIP in a general admission.
The VIP gets certain VIP pours that only they now call it early entry.
Early entry.

(11:45):
Okay.
Yeah.
Because you also get an extra hour.
Yeah.
So we, we of course got those.
Of course.
Uh, so we got in at three general general population didn't get until four, but you have general
admission.
Yeah, four hours.
Didn't get into four.
And then the event ends at seven, I believe.

(12:07):
Right.
Mm hmm.
Yep.
So, oh, and 200.
What was it?
247 something like that.
Over 220 for sure.
Over 220 difference premium spirits, not all of them premium spirits.
Yeah.

(12:28):
For you to try and wow.
Now, not, not 200 and, you know, 20 plus manufacturers.
No, no.
Because many had three or four offerings.
Multiple offerings.
So you could, you could have, you know, four per.
So, but that still means there's probably even the plus.
Yes.
Even the, the, the.
I think the smallest one still had three different offerings.

(12:53):
Yeah.
Even if one of, even if one of them was a vodka.
Yeah.
Yeah.
There was a couple of gins I didn't even bother touching.
No, no.
Definitely not going in the infinity bottle.
No.
Mm hmm.
Now there was a bunch that were new that we had never heard of before.

(13:15):
Tried them.
Quite a few.
Yeah.
There was a few that really struck my fancy and I took some pictures.
So my, my first one that I took a picture of and was like, yes.
Cause like, remember last year we got lost Irish as soon as we got home.

(13:37):
Oh, yes.
Yes.
Yeah.
So they were there again.
They were out there again.
Yeah.
Irish whiskey.
So, uh, this was a baller.
And single malt, well, me shoe, cast finish.
Okay.
This is a barley malt mash from baller.
Now this was just very, very weird.

(14:01):
It had a burst of flavors, right?
It had a real big burst of flavors.
And then you couldn't describe a lot of them.
You're like, what is happening right here?
But I said to myself, I'm getting that.
I took a picture of it.
I'm going to get that next time I go to the liquor store.

(14:24):
I'm absolutely, and I asked her and she said, yes, it is at all, all, all states all around.
We can find it.
So total wine specs liquor king.
Yeah.
So I'm definitely doing that.
Hell yeah.
So that one was the first one that really come in a weird way.

(14:46):
It was just, I don't know, it was immediately drawn to it.
So definitely getting that.
Um, had a couple others.
So one, one that I liked was the triple dog Irish whiskey.
Okay.
I enjoyed that.
Uh, and yes, I took a picture of it.
Now it is 80 proof and that that was the only 80 proof.

(15:11):
The only thing less than a hundred that went in here.
Okay.
Because I did, I did like the, I did like to flavor of it.
Pretty door.
You know, the one that caught my, uh, my fancy was a chip taint, Japanese single malt whiskey,
finished in bourbon and port Ruby casks.
That was really interesting.
And I would like to get that too.

(15:34):
I was super happy to see Randy there again, Randy Sullivan, who has the prideful goat brand.
And of course I had the cask, right?
Absolutely.
Uh, but then so we were just still have some on the bar.
Yeah.
And I'm not, um, I'm not going to say that I did a very good job of, uh, metering my,

(16:03):
my drinks.
I, I drank more than last year because my infinity bottle had less in it this year.
And I was, I was, I was definitely by the time we drove home, cause that's in there
40 minute drive.
Uh, by the way, we did not drive.
We had a driver.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Of course.
We had him.

(16:24):
And, and by the time I got home, it was really landing and I was, I was, I was definitely,
uh, over served, but completely safe about it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
All right.
Um, so I got one, hmm.
Samuel Maverick out of San Antonio.

(16:46):
Okay.
Uh, their straight rye whiskey.
Now it was, it's 98 proof, but this, that one, that one was really good.
I, I did it.
90 is very valid.
Oh, absolutely.
Right.
I mean, it had, it had a great little flavor to it.
I like one to one 10.

(17:08):
But 98, it's, it's knocking on heaven's door.
It's right there.
I'll allow it.
Um, uh, so what did you think about the, uh, the, the Augusta over eight?
Do you have the picture?
Yes.
Not real mind me.

(17:30):
Yes.
I, I liked that.
Uh, that was one I think I would pick up.
I didn't take a picture of it, but I think I would pick that up as well.
And they had the Buckner's Augusta.
I didn't say that.
Uh, I, I liked both of them.
Um, they're, they're, they're eight is, he said is the most popular.
Okay.

(17:51):
Um, I'm sorry.
No, the, the 10 is their most popular, but I liked, I liked the eight.
And that was a 101 proof, I believe.
Uh, I, uh, hit it.
I hit it.
I believe it's a 101 proof.
Okay.
So, but that was, that, that was really cool.

(18:15):
So some of our favorites were there.
Um, you know, lots of offerings from iron route, uh, two offerings from Belcones.
Uh, I had already had them, but, uh, definitely, uh, got more.
Uh, probably shouldn't have, right?
With so many there.
And the fact that I had way too much to drink.

(18:36):
I probably should have skipped some of the stuff that I had, or had, you know, had prior,
you know, but, um, yeah, I didn't do that.
The, the makers that you know are popular and the lines get long fast.
Right.
After the general, uh, it then comes in.
Yep.
You want to do those first.
Yeah.

(18:57):
Uh, when you're in there, uh, when you get in there early, when you have the early admission,
you want to do those first and that's your iron route, your Belcones and, uh, there
were some odd ones that got some really long lines that I had not heard of them, but they
had, they had the right swag.
Yeah.
So they were sometimes that helps.

(19:20):
Yeah.
Go.
Oh, I'm sorry.
Actually, Belcones didn't have to.
Belcones had six, two in the early entry and four in the open.
Yep.
Yeah.
So, but I, so yeah, I did, I did avoid, I didn't have the lineage or the single malt or the

(19:42):
baby blue because I had all of those already, but they had a new version, which I don't
see listed here.
They had a new version of Mirador, which I really liked.
So I will pick that up for sure.
That was really good.
Uh, what was, what was that?

(20:03):
What was that other one that they had for it for the early pour?
Uh, that one, that one was good too.
So we have a bottle.
So I think you were talking about Kedlahera.
Yeah.
There you go.
Yeah.
So, but the new Mirador was really premium.
The Kedlahera we'd had before, we have added on the show and I still have a quarter of a

(20:28):
bottle at home.
But, um, but you, when you, when you had it there, you said it tasted slightly different.
Oh, yeah.
I think it was different.
Yeah.
In all fairness, I think it was different.
Maybe that's why you try everything again anyway.
Abs, uh, frickin' really.

(20:50):
So another one that I hadn't had before was the Yellowstone toasted and that was really
good.
I was surprised.
That was nice.
No, that was, that was a great offer.
Yellowstone is good, but it's, it's pretty basic for me.
But then the toasted was a little bit different and, and, uh, had a little twist to it.
It was very nice.

(21:11):
Let's see.
What other was, so there were a couple pre mixes, um, where they were old fashions, uh,
in a pre mix.
One was a rye, a six year rye, and then one was, uh, I think a four year bourbon.
Yeah.
But I did not have those.
I tried the four year bourbon.

(21:32):
Actually, I tried both of them and he was surprised because most people like the rye
better.
Um, but the, I liked the bourbon better and the reason I gave him was it was orange here.
So I, I liked that.
I did not do, I did not do the pre mix.

(21:53):
But this is a really great event.
We even had two people come in from California to go to the event with us.
So it's a pretty worthy event.
I think it was, uh, $120.
Uh, for the early entry, yes.
And I don't remember.
And that's, that's up with standard entry.
That's up slightly from last year.

(22:14):
I think the, yeah, I think the standard was 90 or 100 somewhere around there.
I don't remember.
I only barely looked at that.
Well, because I want to get in early pretty much.
Yeah.
I don't look at the other one either.
I just like, I want to have all the offerings and I want it now.

(22:36):
Yep.
Uh, now last year they had, they had the, the glasses, uh, you know, spread out on a table.
So you walk in before you're actually in the room with the vendors.
You have a glass.
Right.
So, the last year, not only did you have the glass, but you also had an early pour along
with it, so hard truth was sponsoring it.

(22:59):
Yes, and hard truth was on the glasses and hard truth was in the glasses.
So everybody got a paw, that as they picked up their glass, which is pretty cool.
Like that was that was that was, that was pretty excellent.
I really liked that.
Um, and before we go to break, I want to mention one more.

(23:20):
Okay, the Wyatt Earp. No, okay. I don't think I had that I I
One of the single malt whiskies
I thought it had a really really nice flavor. I don't I didn't jot down what flavors I got from it
But it went down really nice and and I I liked the aroma. I liked the flavor

(23:45):
So all right, let's hit up a break and then come back
I

All right, well, there's no point in making an old-fashioned with this absolutely not doing that

(24:33):
Absolutely not it might make a good old-fashioned. It really doesn't matter the legs on this infinity bottle are amazing
Absolutely amazing
Yeah, I like taking a sip swirling it setting it down just to watch the legs
I mean they it hangs on there
You can watch them for a while. Yeah, I've got I've got two areas that

(24:54):
Want to drip and they're just now
Dripping and I set this down right as the music was ending and they are
I mean just they're creeping absolutely creeping
Breaking amazing
Now this this isn't the best

(25:17):
Licker that I've ever had of course not
But it's it's a pretty good it is good
And and it's got you know, it's it's got a story behind it. Mm-hmm
And you know, it's it's unique. You're never gonna find another one like it through of every infinity bottle. Absolutely

(25:39):
Well, yeah
I don't have too much to say about it. We kind of covered it and it's interesting
The midpoint on the cigar I will say did a few because we we got into some long
Discussions there and you take a while before I took another drag and I noticed it in a very long finish

(26:02):
I'm getting more things like like a cocoa or a coffee something like that
So that's kind of nice not not my strong suits
It's not it's not strong up front though. So you only get it in the long long
finish, but yeah, there's a little
Something in there like that

(26:23):
Which is nice?
So here's something that we do find it whiskey right? Yeah from time to time and that's rum and
I don't think I had any rum's don't madre don madre's oh
There's a scene that one and I meant to get it. I never did. Oh, you didn't know
You didn't that was it. I remember seeing it too. That was nice. I recommend it. I recommend it

(26:51):
You know if we can sign it here. They had yes, she said it was at
Specs and total one. Okay, so they have a
Five plus five triple
Triple aged rum

(27:13):
and then and then
Kind of their their flagship is the
Double aged nugges nugges
Luxes. I don't know. Hell you know you XUS
You you pick it
You know you have the right bottle if you see a turtle on it. Okay
So I do see one don madre's it's a five plus five years px rum px yep for 41

(27:42):
Okay, so it does exist in our store cool
Yeah, I remember wanting to try it and then I don't think I got back to it. I also didn't get back to the Irish
Whiskey's I don't think I had any Irish whiskey's I
Named one
But I don't think I had it did I say I had it I don't know if you had it or not think I did I

(28:07):
Don't think I did
But that's that's all right. I really was happy with the two finds I got last year and I will I will keep lost Irish on my
Shelf
Absolutely
So what did you what did you think about the company?
distilling

(28:28):
Come I didn't have that one either. There's a lot of them there, you know
With you I
Was already over served. I don't I don't think I could have put another one in me
I needed to pour more of it in my bottle
Yeah, you did the problem was I liked a lot of the ones I had and then I had a little bit more and then I probably

(28:50):
should have
the
Colorado single malt I was remiss and didn't get a good picture of the company name. Okay
They were they were good out of out of Colorado. I was really surprised
Just how good it was because you see the science as Colorado. It's like
You know

(29:12):
Really you you've got you're concerned about Colorado. Well, I mean
How many good liquors have you had from Colorado? I mean in the Strana hand
Are they from Colorado? Yeah. Oh well, they're mine
What about the idle wild

(29:34):
Didn't have that oh
Man, I don't think we ran in the same circles. You
Missed out that that out of while was pretty good and I'd not heard that one
You mentioned this one early on
Yes, the
Avaloso yes
Avelo cast

(29:56):
It was it was the company name
Alma della terra okay
uh
100 ancestral corn so this is the bourbon of all bourbon's right here
This is a corn whiskey. Yeah, absolutely absolutely so
Copperpot distilled

(30:18):
And it is a product of mexico. I am a fan of copper pot
Lickers over columns. I like the oiliness you get from them
I like the richness you get from them. That's just me now
What I did not get from this was the age statement on or how how long it was in the barrels
What kind of barrel they use stuff like that. I did not get that from guys folks

(30:40):
Worth picking up a bottle if you can find it definitely and I believe
I believe specks
I can't remember on this one. Okay, but I believe
specks
Is what she said
Okay, I was I was really curious about how long

(31:03):
Uh their aging process was oh, yeah, how long is it because I don't I didn't ask oh, okay
But I became curious about it and forgot to go back and ask
Um because they're further south than we are
What is that like but they're further south than we are but they don't have the temperature swings that we do

(31:24):
That's true too. So
What what is their aging process like but because it's so because it's more temperate
Uh, do you do you have to wait longer like?
Scotch's right because it doesn't go in and out as easily. Yeah
But I was remiss in asking that okay

(31:45):
I mean tequila's are
Almost always aged in Mexico
So I mean and almost never aged stated that well that's being more common. I think
I'm getting I'm seeing more of them that are age stated, but
Yeah, I wouldn't say most of them are age stated, but I am seeing more of them be age stated

(32:08):
Of course, there's more of the premium ones. Uh, yeah, and they have to compete with whiskey people now. Yep. Yep, uh, what about the uh
Lexington town branch. I did not get that one either
Did you just go pass out or something? No, I kept busy. There's 240

(32:30):
But now this one I I
I think I was there when you had this one six streets. Uh-huh. Yeah, uh, the six three did it that one
You were following me at that point. Okay. The six street rye
Was awesome. That was that was a really awesome liquor
And uh eight years

(32:51):
Uh age stated
So pretty
So this this is this is a really fun event
It is
And you should go to it, but get a ride whether you uber
lift or get get a friend to drop you off pick you up something you definitely should there's no

(33:13):
Way that you should not even if you don't get
Really drunk. You still not going to be in any condition to drive
And you get you get a glass
You get uh, you know, vendors will have
pens stickers
Coasters
Uh, all kinds of yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Lots of sway many like in a bar mat bar mat. Yes

(33:37):
So
Really really awesome of that highly recommended
Although we said that last year this year
There was a line for the early entry
Yeah, last year there was no line when we we were the first ones in the door. We were literally the first two people in the door
Yeah, and we were we were only like a half hour early if that

(34:01):
Maybe only 15 minutes this time we were we were good half hour early. Yeah
And there was a line there was a line, but they managed a line
Brilliantly. Oh, yeah. Hey, dude about 10 minutes till they start going through and scanning everybody's
Everything i'm giving you the wristband of which entry you were and by the time it opened. We all just walked in

(34:23):
Yes, it was it was well managed phenomenal well executed. I would I would recommend it in fact
I'm going to do an extra recommendation. So
uh
if you go to
the
bourbon reel talk he has a
Website where you can buy by schwag. Yes, and he has yes

(34:45):
He has a lanyard for glen carons. Yep, and that lanyard hang around your for two lip shaped glasses
Yes, he has
a lanyard that will fit glen caron glasses as well as his own tulip shaped glass. Yeah
And that is perfect for the event because you're going to run into a I don't have enough hands problem

(35:09):
Quickly
So you can't just get a sample and then go get our sample if the poor little water in it rinse it and then you know
You want to do the rinse you rinse because you guys you don't want that flavor to overpower the flavor that you're going for next
So you want to do the rinse you rinse
um
That product is
It is a great product for this event

(35:32):
I must have talked I must have had 50 people ask me about I had a lot of people ask me about it too
I point them to him point. Yep point him to randy told told him about that
You know, I'm let him take a picture of it and and all that good stuff
It's perfect because it hangs
But it won't spill if you lean forward it
Drips forward and doesn't it doesn't spill and then you've got one hand for your water

(35:55):
It doesn't sit straight up and down. It sits slightly a little bit of a tilt lightly to the yeah light slight tilt
But it's it's perfect because I would I could hang it there
Pour a little water in it put the cap on it to swish it sip it or throw it right and
I mean, yeah, just can't tell you how long enough

(36:18):
It's long enough that you can extend it for a pour without taking it off. Yeah. Oh, that's the other thing
It does have a clip on it clip that you can really so you can detach if you needed to the glass from it
It's it's awesome
And it's perfect for this event. That's what this is for it's for a tasting it. Yes. Yeah, it's meant for tastings

(36:39):
Just like this and it is it is perfect. It is awesome. Go check it out
Burbank real talk go to the shop. Yeah
You want you want this you do
Yep, I had a lot of questions about it too and I pointed them
Yeah, my my suggestion to Randy was can you print out a business card with QR code?

(37:06):
To this so that whenever somebody asked me I could just point they click done
right because
Not only when I was standing in line with little lines I stood in
Not only then but just walking around people would say hey, hey

(37:27):
Yeah, and ask me about it. Yeah, it was it was pretty well constant for four hours
Yeah, no, I didn't use it, but they he's also got caps little
Little lids that'll go on to a standard glen karen
Yes, and then if you if you're concerned about it spilling or something you can put the cap on
I didn't put the cap on because it's sip rinse, you know water, you know all that

(37:54):
The only time I put the cap on was what I went to the restroom and it doesn't spill so no no no issues. So absolutely no issues
It's it's an awesome piece of kit. Mm-hmm. Perfect for this event. Absolutely
Uh
Okay, which we said before say it again. Yep great event. You should go

(38:15):
Yeah, every year it comes up. I I'm on their mailing list and so I know the day it's offered
And I take a screen capture and send it to the people I know we're coming with
Uh, you also, I mean you can
Uh, you can add it to you know, like we have apple phones so you can add it to your your wallet

(38:38):
So so you just tap and show they scan it done
Yeah, so even though some people we know
A print it I printed mine out
Because you never know
I wasn't gonna say your name and and uh turns out I'm glad I printed it because
When I tapped it to go to it it asked me to log in and I didn't remember my log in to the society

(39:02):
That's because you didn't put it in your wallet because I didn't well I didn't put it
But it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. Add to the wall. I'm right there. I brought the print out
Electronics don't always work, but I was getting in your
Get in regardless. Yeah

(39:23):
Here's my regardless regardless. Here's my print out. Do the way you will. I'm going that way. It's
If we have to we will walk that way
While you're doing this other way in the door
I did don't get me wrong. I did notice that I did not see anyone around me with a printout

(39:45):
Nope
I was the only person who were the only for about a hundred people that are printout
But
Now they did come through and scan us early and everybody in line except for one couple
Was early admission. Right one was there one hour and a half early. Yes
And the lady said I'm sorry, but you can't go into four. Yeah, yeah

(40:11):
and uh
The lady there looks looks at the line and looks behind her and says okay
Yeah
I mean, what else you gotta do. Yeah, but she will get to be the first one in line for the general adventure. No
so
Yeah, go to the event and and then it but puss it gives you a great list of what to get next

(40:36):
Try new things right one of the things this event is all about try new things
um, I was happy to see
the number of of brands that I hadn't seen before yeah, I was too
So always worth always worth it. Yeah, yeah, there was a lot of stuff. I'd never seen before so that was very nice

(40:57):
And if there's something that you want that you like take a picture of it go to your liquor store and say
I want one of these
Yeah, yeah, yeah, so if they don't carry it, maybe they will well there's also
um apps
It'll identify
wines and liquors from the pick a picture of their bottle. So you're gonna do that too. Yeah called google lens

(41:23):
Well, that would that would do it too if you just had the picture on your phone, but there's apps to do that too, but it's it's great
so
All right. I don't think I have anything to add about
Whiskey riot this cigar has been a slow smoker. Mm-hmm. Mostly because we've been talking
Mm-hmm
Well, not for me. I've been talking maybe I don't know

(41:44):
Thanks you about in the same place
Well, I was I think I was further along the word you were
Did I not no no you didn't now I just remembered that it's a david off. They don't change. Okay
Rewind
To david off they don't change that's forward
Here we are. Yeah

(42:06):
Now what now I need uh, I need I need sound bites for rewind and fast forward
You know what I thought you did it it was really well
Oh, that's a loadable crap right there
I mean, it's up to interpretation what that sounds like
Okay

(42:29):
So
One thing I will add is if you not if you are a bit of a whiskey person and you drink more than one type of whiskey
Uh, make an infinity bottle. You've really got nothing to lose the key is
Don't put
Whiskeys in it that you're not a huge fan of hoping that other whiskeys will make it better. Yeah, don't don't do that

(42:53):
Just put stuff in it you like
If you get down to the last little bit of a bottle and you know you want to clank clank and get rid of that bottle
Put put it in your infinity bottle and just put it over there and I've had several I know
Quite a few people who do it
And I've never been disappointed with somebody else's infinity bottle. No, so

(43:17):
Uh, and I don't drink mine a lot because if I did I wouldn't have one
but uh
I still make one and
Pour some stuff in it from time to time
And I have maybe a loose guide of don't put this or that in it but other than that
You know
Make make yourself one you got nothing to lose absolutely

(43:39):
And I mean
You get down to the last pour of a bottle
Use that right so
Yeah, easy. Yeah. Now you've got another you've got a space in your shelf
Yeah, and you're creating something right so just the pores that we got were small pores at the whiskey

(44:00):
Right. Yep, but if you put a whole lot of small pores together you get a bottle
Damn sure do so
You know, I think bill brought back about half
Maybe a third of a bottle
Go around just over a third of a bottle and and I was not being conservative
And when you add it to my infinity bottle it we got about three quarters of a bottle

(44:25):
So, you know, but I would recommend doing it. Just just try one. Yeah, it's gonna be fine
It's
My recommend when it gets to the last little bit of a bottle my recommendation is one of two things
Or to put it in a infinity bottle, huh?
or

(44:46):
Take it to share the last bit
Taking somewhere to share the last bit
Right, you could
Well, I did that with the uh with the toasted, okay
The
Eliza Craig, yes eliza craig toasted
Uh, we we all got together one day and I brought it is the last of a bottle

(45:07):
There are maybe three people can get something out of it. Yeah
Uh, but it was I mean it's a really nice bottle has a great flavor to it
And they all appreciate it. So I wanted to share
Right, uh, so I recommend doing one of those two things but in an infinity bottle
Do you're not wasting it? You are not wasting it. Yeah, no, it's it's it's not going to be bad. You know, that's

(45:31):
Because because if we just don't put bad stuff in it. Yeah, just don't put bad stuff in
All right, so what's your life?
I
All right, man. We we about to call this episode. I think we are. I think we've covered everything
So is there anything else you want to say about the devitol? Uh, no, no

(45:54):
Nope, is there anything else that you want to say about the infinity bottle? Uh, nope, except that I need to rate it
I need to find out where it goes
Yep, and I am looking at that and I'm looking at that now for the devitol
All right, so where am I gonna put this?
Yeah, you did not make this one easy
No, no, not my uh, not not your intention. Not my intention at all. No

(46:18):
So I got I got two places I want to put it
Got her to side
Okay, well, this is kind of funny
But
It's an it's an infinity bottle. I mean, it's it's got so much going on in it

(46:39):
That that I mean it could it could compete with just about anything
Yeah, yeah, all right, so you
Have placed
the dove it off in the number six position
Which is just below
the number five called well midnight express

(47:00):
And just above the number seven lobarba purple
Interesting spot. All right. Yeah, I I
So that that was the um, that was the highest of the spots that that I I thought it fit really nice into yeah
But I just I could only go so far

(47:22):
Sure sure well it so it's got it's got the wood component to it
It's got an interesting mix of both a creamy and a dryness. Yeah to it. It's got it's got
You know a little spice to it. You know those baking spice kind of things to it
um, but
really it

(47:44):
It just kind of
You settle into it and
It is what it is
It's not a bad cigar. It's just it's not
It I had a hard time putting it any higher. I get it
All right, so the whiskey riot 2025. Yes infinity bottles

(48:05):
Interesting choice
Uh, okay, darryl put it in the number six slot just below the wild turkey 101
and uh just above the benchmark eight
There you go. Oh, you can't argue with the benchmark eight. That is a good bottle. It's a good bottle
I did like this though again
Bit of a proof for yeah, this is a little bit higher proof. Oh it is it is so and I I really enjoyed it

(48:31):
I like the fruitiness and all the other it's a complex flavor
It did very and and you know the benchmark is not it's it's it's a solid flavor, but not complex and do an infinity bottle
Okay, so i'm gonna i'm gonna give the top five
So at number five wild turkey 101 number four rustles reserved single barrel
uh
number

(48:52):
Three lineage from baucona's number two the 1845 preemption
reverence cast and still number one
Remus volumate
So i'll do the same
the uh
The dove it off was just below the number five called go amid night express the uh number four

(49:13):
diesel original
Number three ebb and chor king's goal number two ebb and chor blue eyed jack three bench
and the number one per domo 20th anniversary among
Such good scars
You know it's gonna be a tough year

(49:35):
All right, man. I
Great event great cigars great liquor. I mean great show
Come on. Thank you
