A classic, beloved Western from 1939 - the watershed greatest year of cinema almost didn't happen. At the time, everyone thought the Western was dead, except John Ford – he was right, they were wrong. The other film featured one of the greatest acting legends of Hollywood in his last and rivetting film role in 1981 as a tyrannical turn of the century police commissioner – this actor starred in his first hit role in films in 1939 in a classic gangster drama – any ideas?! …while not a commissioner my producer extraordinaire and wingman, actor and cinephile, John, Schwab polices this show with j'nai sais quoi so...
