Based on the bestselling book of the same name written by Gregory Maguire, Wicked reimagines the classic The Wizard of Oz story from the perspective of Elphaba, the future Wicked Witch of the West.
Wicked (2024), directed by Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians, In the Heights, Now You See Me 2), features a stellar ensemble cast. Cynthia Erivo (Harriet, The Outsider, Bad Times at the El Royale) stars as Elphaba, the future Wicked Witch of the West, while Ariana Grande (Victorious, Sam & Cat, Don't Look Up) portrays Glinda, the Good Witch. Jonathan Bailey (Bridgerton, Broadchurch, Crashing) takes on the role of Fiyero, Elphaba's love interest. Ethan Slater (SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical, Fosse/Verdon, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) plays Boq, a Munchkin enamored with Glinda. Bowen Yang (Saturday Night Live, The Other Two, Fire Island) portrays Pfannee, a fellow student at Shiz University. Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, The Station Agent) assumes the role of Doctor Dillamond, a professor at Shiz. Michelle Yeoh (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Crazy Rich Asians, Everything Everywhere All at Once) plays Madame Morrible, the headmistress of Shiz University. Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Thor: Ragnarok) stars as The Wizard, the enigmatic ruler of Oz.
