Due to the pandemic, both the healthcare organizations and patients were pushed into trying virtual care. While the initial results are encouraging, significant challenges remain. Doctors struggle with technological, licensing, jurisdictional issues, and many patients with bandwidth. Hospital systems are trying to integrate virtual care into their clinical workflow and bolstering their technology infrastructure while juggling HIPAA compliance and security concerns. How can policymakers, healthcare organizations, and medical practitioners collaborate to enable effective virtual care?
