Jaeb is a woman of vision, as well as extraordinary humility.
“If I know anything, it’s that I know nothing.”
When Jaeb and her husband first purchased land in central Thailand, the soil was so degraded by monocrop farming and heavy use of chemical fertilisers, it was like rock.
They started growing trees for shade around the house. Initially, Jaeb and James had many failures, with thousands of saplings dying.
But then they discovered the work of Dr John D. Liu.
Since then, Jaeb has undertaken a fascinating journey of learning about ecological restoration, permaculture and sustainable agriculture. Jaeb wants to create a food forest, a way of producing food that doesn’t require deforestation or monocrop farming.
An educator by training, and passionate about the environment, Jaeb wants to bring as many people on this journey with her as possible. From her own children to the local town to an international community of volunteers who come to the farm to live and learn, Jaeb’s vision is to share knowledge about food security and nature.
“It’s possible to live off the land and to enjoy nature. You don’t need to cut down everything in your farm.”

Cardiac Cowboys
The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
