We've signed up and given it a test drive,

for, the pricing, what the workouts are like, and

(00:42):
exactly what we recommend that you do.

all the information that you need to decide if this
workout library is a good fit for you. So here we go.

You'll find the links to all of
that and more in today's show notes.

(01:46):
So let's get to today's episode.
So we definitely recommend that after this episode, you
go and listen to our interview with Denise Austin.
I was really nervous about doing it, but it went
very well and she was really down to earth and
authentic, and it's one of my favorite episodes, so I'll
link out to that in the show notes.

(02:07):
Or you can just go back into
the library of whatever podcast player you
are listening on and find that episode.
It was probably the one right before this
one or maybe two before this one, depending
on how we published the last few episodes.
We've done also a YouTube video that supplements
this episode, so you can watch the video
to see an actual tour of this workout

(02:30):
library we're talking about in the features.
So that's gonna be really insightful and helpful.
If you're thinking about signing up for this.
So we'll link out to that in the show notes as well.
And please support our company and follow our YouTube
channel and check out some of our other videos.
We put a lot of effort
into making them helpful for you.
So some housekeeping.
We definitely recommend, as always, that you sign

(02:53):
up for any on demand service on a
desktop or investigate it on a computer screen
that's large, not on your mobile device.
So step away from your phone before you sign up
for this or any workout library so that you can
really take in all the details and understand what you're
signing up for and really see all the features and
what you're getting and what you're not getting.

(03:14):
Because you will definitely, it's hard.
You'll definitely miss something if you're
just on your mobile device.
They do a great job, obviously, and many.
We're all used to being sold things and reading through
things on our phone, but it's still a small screen
and it's still easy to miss the details.
And you're paying for something, you're handing over

(03:36):
your credit card and it's really important.
We feel like that you just sit down
at a computer and really investigate these things
before you sign up for it.
So this podcast episode, obviously this one and others like
it will help you with that before you sign up.
But do your research, do your due diligence

(03:57):
and you'll feel really confident and excited about
the services that you sign up for.
So what makes Denise Austin's workout
library special and what is it?
So she calls her workout membership the
fitness hub or myfitness hub is what?
The link is on the website.
But you log into your membership using this
link to her, to the fitness hub, and

(04:19):
inside of that membership are workouts.
We're a full workout library.
I'll talk about those classes in just a second.
And you also get access to Denise Austin's
live videos, which are, which is really interesting.
And you also get
nutrition guidance, nutrition information.
And so what makes this workout library unique, what sets it

(04:40):
apart is that it's kind of an all in one.
So you get coaching, not one on one coaching, but
you do get access to coaching and kind of encouragement
in your fitness journey from Denise because she does have
this thing called Denise live where you can log in.
I'll talk about that in a second.
And then she has nutrition plans.
We'll get more into that in just a second.
And then workouts.
So you've got your all in one.

(05:00):
But what makes this library special is Denise herself.
So she is a fitness icon, been
around for a very long time.
Most people who are listening to this right
now will know exactly who Denise is.
She's been around for well over 30 years.
And I think in the last interview that
if I'm hopefully, I'm quoting the statistic, right.
But she said in that interview that she actually

(05:22):
had the longest running fitness tv series ever.
And I don't know if that was the most published
episodes or just the longest amount of time that the
show was on the air, but that's an impressive statistic.
So she knows what she's doing.
She's been around for a very long time.
And like I said, most people
will know exactly who she is.

(05:43):
She has a very distinctive voice and
a very distinctive personality that she, that
you'll see in every single class.
And it's genuine.
That's who she is.
And it's unique, it's fun.
And if you love Denise Austin,
you will love this membership library.
So I'm going to dive into the workout
styles, what you'll find inside the library itself.

(06:06):
One thing that we noticed right away when we
signed up is that nowadays a lot of workout
libraries, membership libraries that have workout classes are all
hosted on a specific or a familiar platform.
And so when you sign in,
it looks very similar to others.
This one is very different.
She has a very unique platform that

(06:27):
was probably created just for her.
Someone designed and coded this workout library and
its features just for members of this and
didn't just use like a template that's familiar,
that is commonly used for other workout libraries.
I hope that makes sense.
But if you've signed up for lots of different
workout libraries, you'll know what I'm talking about because

(06:49):
you've recognized the framework of how the libraries look
on, especially on an app on your mobile device.
This one is different and it only has what she puts
in it and what she needs and what she found important
and the features that, that are important to this library.
And so that makes it special and it
makes it really easy, honestly, as a user,
to navigate and find what you're looking for.

(07:10):
So it's kind of refreshing
because sometimes that backfires, right?
Sometimes these websites and memberships are coded because
there's a lot more that people are trying
to stuff in there and it gets just
too crowded and there's too much going on.
But she's done a great job of really making it
a minimal interface and the experience is really easy to

(07:35):
navigate and to take in and find what you're looking
for and the features that you want to use.
So I want to start with the workouts themselves.
That's the most important part of any workout membership
library are the workouts themselves because that's what has
to align with what you're looking for.
All the other features are kind of the way we look
at it are bonus, you know, icing on the cake.

(07:56):
You sign up for a service to
get the classes, the workout classes.
And those are what make you go and show up, right?
That's what you're looking for to stay in shape
and to get fit and healthy are the workouts.
So that's the most important
part of any workout library.
If you don't like the workouts, if you don't
like the instructors, then you won't keep doing it.

(08:20):
It's not for you.
So keep that in mind.
So I want to start with the workouts
first because that's the most important part.
And this workout library is great.
I'll tell you what we like about it.
So it's very easy to find the workouts.
First of all, like we said, the
menu icons are super easy to navigate.
The only menu icons she has are
home workouts, nutrition and a favorite.

(08:41):
And then she has a Denise live menu
icon where you can watch her live stream.
But the workouts themselves are in a hub
under the workout icon tab and they have
some really nice feet filters there that include
easy, medium or intense, which would be, I
guess, not advanced, but more cardio intensive workouts.

(09:04):
And then she also has drop down menus where you
can further get more granular about what you're looking for.
And that includes workout categories like
stretching, cardio, yoga, fit, over 50.
You can filter just by her tv shows.
And then she also has a filter by body type.
So you've got total body, arms,
legs, butt, chest, all the things.

(09:25):
And then you also have a filter
by length, which is really important.
If a workout library doesn't have a filter for the
time, the length of the workout, it's really a difficult
or it's a, it's a real omission, a real problem.
I think that an oversight that needs to
be corrected because that's one of the most
important things that people look for.
And way that people plan their workouts during the week

(09:48):
and on a day to day basis is by how
much time they have to do a class, right?
And so definitely she has workout length filters that include
less than five minutes and up to 40 minutes.
Now, I will say if you use a whole bunch of these
filters stacked on top of each other, you'll get no options.
Nothing will pop up.
So pick a few filters that you want to

(10:09):
use, and you'll, you'll get a bunch of options.
Most of the workout classes are shorter, but she does
have the, I don't know if every single tv workout,
tv show workout that she ever filmed, recorded is in
here, but a lot of them are.
And based on our interview, I do think she
repurposed everything that she could from her tv series.

(10:32):
And so if you, you saw her on her
tv show, then you'll recognize that a lot of
these classes, you know, she always liked to film.
One of her, one of the, the things that
you'll remember if you watched her tv show was
that she seemed to be on location doing workouts,
like outdoors in some, you know, extravagant location is
what I remember the most about it.

(10:53):
I meant to ask her in her in
the interview if people sponsored her trip and
brought her to these locations to film.
I don't remember her ever mentioned.
She'd say where she was at, but she
didn't really, like, brag about anything specific or
endorse any specific location in the video.
So I'm not sure I'm torn about that.
I wish I had asked her if she was,

(11:15):
you know, these were paid, exclusive deals with these
locations where she did film her workouts.
But she has a lot of exotic locations,
a lot of beautiful backdrops to her workouts.
That was just her thing that she had.
That was, was special.
So she has a lot of those classes from her
tv show in her library, and you can find those.
She also has a lot of new videos.

(11:36):
In the newer videos, she does have some
group settings, but they're still taught by her.
So overall, as far as instructors go, she
is the instructor leading every single class.
She does a great job of cueing.
She walks you through the entire workout.
Something that's a drawback to remember if you are not
familiar with her workouts is that if music is really,

(11:57):
really important to you in a workout, she might have
music sounds in the background, but the music is not
part of the workout experience overall.
It's just about her and getting the workout
done and hearing good cues and foreign pointers
and, you know, doing the exercises properly and
getting, making it through to the end.
The music is just sometimes there, sometimes not, and

(12:19):
it's not part of the actual class experience.
As far as equipment needs go, her workouts
don't use a lot of equipment at all.
At most, you'll need as far as, like,
a requirement, I would say is a mat.
If you're working out on a hard surface because she does
get down and do core work or get on her hands
and knees to do some exercises every now and then, but

(12:40):
really just a mat and light dumbbells are, would be the
most that you would need for equipment.
Space requirements are also minimal.
She doesn't take up a whole lot of room.
Wherever you're working out at home right now, you'll
have plenty of room to do these classes.
Choreography level, very, very basic.
There's no choreography in any of these classes that
will trip you up every now and then.

(13:01):
She does have some, like, blended moves that she
puts together, but she builds them up very slowly.
And none of it's ever any kind of difficult steps
or what I would call, you know, choreography that you
have to learn to get through the class.
You'll never miss a rep or anything like that.
It's very, very basic steps and choreography to
deal with to get through the class.

(13:23):
Something else to know about these classes
is I would say that probably every
single class in here is low impact.
I would not expect.
We did not run across any classes that
had any high impact exercises in them.
And so this is a great option if
you're looking for low impact class styles.
The other thing are workout calendars.
Everybody wants access to workout calendars, right?

(13:44):
That's a great way to get started.
When you're first using a membership to
find, you know, where do I start?
Where do I go next type thing, until you get used
to what, what the library looks like, and then you can
kind of do one off workouts and plan your day around
that because you, once you know how to use the service,
it's a lot easier to do that.
But at the beginning, it's very

(14:04):
helpful to have workout calendars.
And some people use workout calendars always.
That's just what the, how they plan their week.
They just open up a calendar, sign up for,
you know, a workout challenge or plan and get
going, and that walks them through the library and
where to go next and what to try.
And, you know, it's a great way to have

(14:24):
variety in your, in your workout calendar as well
because they're serving up workouts for you.
Typically, the recommendations don't repeat the
same classes over and over.
So she does a great job of having
workout challenges, is what she calls them.
So front and center when you sign into your membership
is that you click on this area that says challenges

(14:45):
and it takes you into the challenge library.
And she has a lot of options there.
She her the thumbnails for each of these
challenges or workout plans, some of them are
called plans, some of them are called challenges.
Each thumbnail gives you exactly what you
need to know to sign up.
It tells you how long the challenge is for.

(15:07):
That is how many days, if it has workouts in it
or not, or if it's just a nutrition challenge, and then
how many recipes are included in there as well.
So there are challenges like the ten week plan,
which is the one we enrolled in immediately because
it looked like it was the most inclusive.
It's ten weeks of workouts, and so it's
60 workouts because it does have rest days.

(15:29):
It has 350 recipes because it has
breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks included.
And then it tells you, you know, the length of time.
So the thumbnail is a great way to just,
you know, quickly find a challenge and sign up.
So if you're looking for a quick win and a
quick way to use your the library as soon as
you sign up during your trial period, we definitely recommend

(15:51):
that you sign up for one of these challenges.
Some of the other examples of challenges you'll
see in here are two week walking challenge,
eat like Denise plan, which is just recipes,
yoga refresh challenge, ten day fit and fab
challenge, one week total body toning challenge.
So you can hear there's lots of challenges, fit
over 50 challenge, so you have lots of options.

(16:13):
So if you're looking for a
workout calendar, this is for you.
And these are good.
And so you would just sign, you can only sign
up for one challenge at a time, but you sign
up for the challenge and then you go in there
and it shows you, if it's got nutrition and workouts,
it'll show you the workout for the day.
You mark it as complete and then you can look
at your recipes as well right after that gives you,

(16:36):
you know, kind of packages it for you.
And so that is the workout calendars.
Yes, they have them and they are
well designed and easy to use.
So some of the other features you'll want to
know about are the nutrition section, of course.
So the nutrition section has filters as well.
And you can filter by the meal, breakfast,

(16:58):
lunch, dinner or snack, and by main ingredients.
So fish, tofu, chicken, beef, pork.
Prep time filter for less than 30 minutes,
less than 60 minutes, less than ten minutes,
and diet restriction filter as well.
So diabetic, gluten free, low sodium, lactose free.
There's a filter that says what Denise eats.

(17:18):
So you've got a lot of
filter options for the nutrition section.
They have beautiful images in this section and the thumbnail
shows the prep time, the number of servings, and how
many calories are in that nutrition or that recipe.
So definitely check that out.
That's a real benefit and perk.
Inside this library is this nutrition section.

(17:39):
She uses it to pair with
the workout calendars and the challenges.
Or you can just go in there and find, you know, a
plan for or some recipes for your week and plan it yourself.
The next feature I want to talk about are favorites.
Now, they did a great job of making the
favorite section even different than other workout libraries.
Typically, a workout library uses the favorite section as a

(18:01):
way to track either your actual favorite workouts or workouts
you've just already done or workouts you want to save
for later and do at a later time. Right?
So you just use that heart icon to mark
a workout and you know it's unique to you
as to what you're marking it for.
But then they are put away into another tab
where you can access them easier later instead of

(18:24):
having to scroll through the whole library.
Well, they've taken it one step
further in the favorite section.
You do have favorite workouts that you can mark
and they will pop up there, but they also
have a section for your favorite meals, including breakfast,
lunch, dinner that are split out that way, and
snacks, a favorite tips, tricks and motivation section, and
a favorite bonus section.

(18:45):
And I'm not sure what the bonuses are.
We haven't found anything to stick in that section,
but we did find something that we liked from
the homepage that was a little tab or a
link that said overcoming obstacles, which was a link
out to some motivational help.
It was an article and we marked it
favorite and it popped up under our favorite
tips and motivation in the favorite section.

(19:07):
So they've done a great job of making really
milking that section to be useful for many different
reasons other than just a workout calendar.
And so you can find things that you want
to reference later that help you in your workouts.
So boom, good job.
That's definitely a perk for this membership library
that we haven't seen done in other places.

(19:28):
So let's dive into who is this membership for?
Who will love this membership?
There are three different groups of people.
Specifically, I think that this is ideal for number
one, women over, you know, 50, 60, 70, anyone?
50 plus.
I am over 50.
And we if you're a
beginner, you'd like gentler movement.

(19:49):
She does a lot of things, age specific classes, and
that's why I think women over 50 might enjoy this.
If you aren't involved in more advanced classes
because these are beginner level at most intermediate.
If you are someone who does advanced exercises regularly and
you already lift heavy weights and you do a lot
of high impact cardio, these aren't for you.

(20:11):
This is not going to be challenging enough for you.
However, if you've stepped away from exercise for a long
time and you're just getting back into it more slowly,
even if you have a history of having been done
advanced exercises in the recent past, if you've had several
months where you had to stop exercising for some reason,
this is a great way for you to ease back

(20:32):
into fitness and regular movement.
Is, is with this membership library, 50 plus.
It's just a number that I'm just coming up with and
that's only because she has some, some classes that specifically say
for 50 and up, but really 50, 60, 70, 80. Anyone?
Any older woman, I hate to say older, right.

(20:53):
I'm 50, 51, so.
And I don't consider myself older, but, you know, you're
not 20, so take that for what it's worth.
I hope no one gets angry about that.
You understand what I'm saying here?
So for any older adult looking for some more
gentler classes would enjoy these because she specifically is

(21:15):
talking to you in a lot of these classes.
Listen, Denise is 67 and so she's talking to other
women in that same age range and, you know, she's
aligned with, with you and she exercises constantly and if
you look at her, she is in a phenomenal shape
and so you'd never know she's 67.
So you can be an older quote number.

(21:38):
You know, your chronological age might be a larger
number, but you could be in phenomenal shape and
you could love these classes because she's awesome.
Denise is awesome.
She's a great role model.
She's very inspiring.
You know, she's just, she's just awesome.
So that, that is one group of people love this.
Another group of people are
absolute beginners, flat out beginner.

(21:58):
You have not exercised before.
No matter what your age, you need to
get into regular movement, but you're very out
of shape, you know that, strenuous.
You know, you're not quite ready for any intensity yet.
You're looking for something much more gentle, low impact on
the joints and just, you know, not that intensity of
some of the other things you've seen online.

(22:19):
This will appeal to you.
Just absolute beginner, very start
of your fitness journey.
This will be for you. You'll love this.
And also a third category, I
think, that will benefit from this.
Membership or should test this out would be someone,
any group of people who are recovering or rehabbing
from an illness, an injury, a setback, something that

(22:41):
took you away from fitness for a little while.
Maybe you had knee replacement or maybe you had
some kind of illness that has set you back.
It flared up, you had some kind of acute situation that
you couldn't, your body got very deconditioned for a short period
of time, and you need to take it slow to get
back into your baseline health and fitness routine.

(23:01):
This would be a good option for
you because they are more slow paced.
The classes are gentler, low impact options.
And something that's cool about it is that
it's not all one style of class.
There is so much variety in the classes in the
library that you won't have to just do one thing.

(23:22):
So we've talked about some of the other eccentrics
tv is a great option for beginners also in
any, they have the same audience, I feel, as
this membership library eccentrics tv does.
But the difference is that eccentrics tv has a
very unique workout style, the method that they use.
And so if you're looking for something that, a workout

(23:44):
library that maybe has a little more variety in it,
then this one might appeal to you more because she
kind of, Denise is all over the board.
She does it all, pilates, bar, dance, you know, toning.
She does not that eccentrics doesn't do toning,
but they do have a very specific style.
Denise has, you know, she tries, she, there's just

(24:05):
a lot of variety in her workout class.
You really never know what you're going to get.
It's going to be, it's going to be her and genuine.
But the style of fitness is unique.
And so you do have all of
that variety inside the library as well.
So as a recap, what we love about the membership and
how is it different than other libraries on the market?

(24:26):
What makes it unique is Denise herself and the
fact that this is an all in one option.
They do have, you know, coaching
in its, in its own way.
It's not one on one coaching, but she has
these Denise live sessions where you can sign up
for reminders to be notified when she goes live.
And it's like a motivational,

(24:47):
interactive moment with Denise. Right.
So that's kind of like a coaching situation where
you get not necessarily one on one unique coaching,
but you get access to her and the motivation
and the inspiration and encouragement in your fitness routine
and nutrition and diet plan.
Wherever you're at in your fitness journey, you get

(25:08):
that encouragement, arm or piece of your workout program,
plus the workouts, plus the nutrition guidance.
So you have, it's an all in one option because
you have all of those things inside this one library.
And as far as recap of what we love
about the membership, of course, that it's user friendly.
I pointed this out earlier, but right off the

(25:30):
bat, the using the library is very easy.
So user friendly library.
The interface is really, really nice, easy to
navigate and find what you're looking for.
Also, Denise Austin herself, she's awesome and a
great, you know, some, something that is unique.
And what we love about the membership is
Denise Austin, great filters, exactly what you need.

(25:51):
You'll find low impact classes. We love that.
Also reasonable price.
And I'll talk about the price next and how you sign up.
Very easy to sign up lots of classes and
different styles of workouts in the library and that
it's an all in one option for exercisers.
So let's talk about that price.

(26:12):
So we've told you that the cost of
the membership is right in alignment with the
top other options on the market today.
And so we love that about this
one, the monthly price right now.
And make sure that you go check this out yourself.
All of these workout libraries that we talk about on
here, we, we often hesitate to share pricing because the

(26:34):
prices change all the time and there are promotions out
there that will, you know, lower your cost and that
we recommend that you look into before you sign up.
And so we aren't going to cover all of those things.
But definitely check if there are any promotions
running when you're listening to this before you
sign up and check for current pricing.

(26:54):
And remember that what you're hearing
right now could be different.
But right now, as of today in 2024, the
cost of a monthly membership is $15.95 a month.
If you sign up for monthly, you can sign up for
every six months and once a year payments as well.
And you'll get a little bit of savings if
you sign up for a longer period of time.

(27:17):
You also have a 30 day free trial
period when you sign up for these memberships.
That's an awesome free trial period.
That's the best you're going to find is 30 days.
A lot of them will have seven.
A lot of them have 14.
As just as a reference for you, this one has 30.
30 is the best you're going to find
during your 30 day free trial period.
Download the app and get going.

(27:39):
Test this thing out.
Test out all the features. Click on everything.
Join a Denise live download some recipes, you know, do
the, do the things, use the membership and find out
if you're going to love it because you're not going
to pay anything in those 30 days.
And if it's not for you, you
can cancel with having paid for nothing.
But again, $16 roughly a month is not a huge loss

(27:59):
for you to test out something and to try it out.
Even if you do end up paying for it,
we never recommend that you sign up for a
longer period of time than one month.
Whenever you're testing out a new membership that
you're not familiar with, no matter how excited
you think that you are about it, don't
sign up for those longer periods of time.
You're going to feel very resentful and be mad about

(28:19):
it later if you end up not using it.
So just listen to us on this one.
Sign up for a month.
If after 30 days you find you love it and you're
definitely going to continue using it, then you can just increase
your membership at that time, bump up your membership and a
lot of times they'll give you, you know, you'll get the
savings at that point if you, you know, increase the length

(28:39):
of your membership at a later time.
So I think we've covered everything.
If you still have questions about this membership and you
want to find out even more, definitely check out our
YouTube video where we walk you through the membership and
you can actually see the workouts, see the library, see
all the links we navigate, give you a tour of
everything that we've talked about today.

(28:59):
And the other things you can do to
really inform yourself before you sign up are
check out the faqs on her website, follow
her social media platforms, follow her YouTube channel,
and sign up for Denise Austin's newsletter.
And then you can really get informed
about everything she has going on.
We're going to link out to all of those
things, including the contact page for her membership hub

(29:22):
or, you know, where you can contact her and
ask her whatever you want to ask her.
But we'll sit, we'll put a link up in the
show notes for today's episode for her contact page, and
you can link out to that if you have a
specific question you can't find in her faqs.
So don't forget to check out the show
notes to find any links I mentioned in
today's show, and to visit onestrongsoutherngirl.com for tons
