That Kne synth pop Diddy making the
rounds is good. Clean. Howard Jones era of fun
indicative of a decidedly sober matter. Trumpand the GOP need to fully transition away from
the former and to the latter. The firestormgenerated by the household pet proxy for open
borders doesn't make the issue silly ordistraction. Despite what the conventional
(01:22):
pundits say, the memes Trump and Vance spawnedand the cable news, food fights they instigated
got people's attention. Now is the time to pivotand frame the issue. Why are Biden and Harris
drop shipping thousands of migrants tocommunities with little notice and no resources
to accommodate the influx of people? How can onerationally conclude anything other than Biden
(01:44):
and Harris have no regard for the quality oflife and the safety of American families in
these communities? Success in electoral politicsrequires defining a constituency so they know
you are on their side of the skirmish line.
PROFT (01:58):
A good way to accomplish that is with
real world archetypes. A mother of five from
Fairhope, Alabama is just such a person forTrump. Fairhope is dealing with the prospect of
an influx of migrants just like Springfield,Ohio and Whitewater Wisconsin, and Charle,
Pennsylvania, and so many other communities. Shespoke at a local council meeting on behalf of
her mother-in-Law who was killed in a caraccident in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area by
(02:21):
Haitian man driving recklessly was he in thiscountry illegally? We don't know as neither the
media nor the powers that be in so many statesand localities are keen on making such
distinctions. After the background on ourfamily's loss, this mom nicely encapsulated the
legitimate grievances people have about what isbeing done to them giving lie to the caricatures
(02:42):
advanced by those self style reservoirs ofempathy and compassion.
HAITIAN VICTIM'S MOM (02:46):
I'm not here tonight to
talk about Haitians or even immigration. I'm
here to highlight what seems to be a growingconcern for many of the citizens of this
community and many across the country as awhole. The real issue I see brewing tonight
isn't just about Fairhope or Baldwin County. It's about leadership across this country. Even
in tiny communities like this one, seeminglyusurping the will of the people, the very people
(03:08):
in which they were appointed to represent theissue at hand tonight has struck a chord as you
can see, not because people are rude or selfishor self-serving or close-minded. It's not
because they lean left or right, aren't loving, kind, or generous. A large portion is because
somehow things like this seem to slip throughleaving the citizens concerned and confused as
(03:30):
to how they weren't made aware, they weren'tmade a part of the discussion. That type of
power and override is what this community, manywho are here tonight and many who aren't feeling
like we are under the overarching rule ofcontrol rather than a community of information,
understanding and democracy.
KIFFNESS (03:47):
If only Trump would relentlessly speak
in such a measured and heartfelt way about the
stakes on the table. Speaking of Springfield,Ohio and empathy, which I mentioned, but the
genuine variety of empathy. This mom who alsolost her mother-in-law to a traffic accident
involving a Haitian migrant, allegedly drivingrecklessly is another representative of the
people who play by the rules in America. That'sTrump's constituency.
HAITIAN VICTIM'S MOM (04:10):
Months before she was
killed, I began noticing the reckless driving
and complete disregard for our driving laws bysome members of the Haitian community. It made
me angry, but now my anger has turned to fearfor the safety of my family and the citizens of
Springfield. I've been to Haiti 14 years ago. Myhusband and I went and it was my first time in a
third world country. I sobbed when I saw thepoverty living there and I have great empathy
(04:35):
and compassion for them, longing for a safeplace to call home, but 14 years later, I'm
living in fear in my own city. It's not safe.
PROFT (04:43):
These ladies and so many other families
like them do not need to be platformed at a
Trump rally. In fact, it would be better if theyweren't. They didn't step to the podiums at
their respective town board meetings aspartisans and better to keep it that way. The
Trump campaign's job is to leverage itscommunication channels to widely distribute and
drive their stories. In fact, JD Van shouldintroduce one or both and or others on Tuesday
(05:08):
night and his square off with Field MarshallTim, who will undoubtedly try to marginalize the
issue by carrying on about the allegations ofmissing pets. The heroes of these stories are
the Americans who are wronged, horrifically so,but remain nonetheless focused on making things
right for their families and communities. Theseare the people who will make America great again
(05:29):
and they deserve a government that will backtheir play.
Rather than stab them in the back say theirnames. Remember that say their names was the
mantra of the Black Lives Matter movement whenit was pushing defunding the police. It was good
marketing for terrible public policy because itdrew people's attention to those who had been
killed without any concern for whether policewere in the right or wrong. For Trump and Vance,
(05:51):
the imperative is to listen to their stories, listen to their stories By contrast to BLM, the
details and the delineation between right andwrong are critical. For the last five weeks of
the campaign, the more profile given toAmericans speaking on their own volition in
their own voice. The more in the last five weeksof the campaign, the more attention given to
(06:17):
Americans speaking on their own volition, intheir own voices about their values and the
value of the place they call home, the betterthe chance we have to save their homes and
America in the process. I'm Dan Proft with theCounterculture Commentary. Please like this
