(02:25):
Hey, everybody. We are backlive, and we have some very
special guests joining us in theDuck Den. To my left is the one
and only Tim Wells, also knownas the Slockmaster.
Tim Wells (02:41):
I thought we were
gonna go with Slock Daddy.
Matt Harrison (02:43):
Okay. I'm gonna
let Nathan introduce you as
that. That's Nathan's deal. Tomy right is Jimbo's joining us
again. Then over here, we havemiss Sydney Wells, then also
mister Nathan with Dive Bomb.
This is gonna be an open chat, and we're gonna have a good
time. I'm super excited. Thelast time we have all been
together, us three, was at ourformer president, mister Chuck
(03:07):
Smith, chasing some ducks in theArkansas timber, which was a
blast, which is where me
Mister Tim met. But we have alot of cool things going on, the
dive bomb side of things, Jimbo, heading up that relationship.
Tim, I know you have a lot goingon. Where are you heading
Monday? You told me before wehopped on this that you were
heading somewhere Monday, andtell our listeners where that
is.
Tim Wells (03:26):
Africa. We're going
duck hunting in Africa.
Matt Harrison (03:29):
Duck hunting in
Africa.
Tim Wells (03:30):
Yeah. But if I don't
see any ducks, I'm gonna just
hunt plains game, whateverhappens, you know.
Nathan Hogg (03:34):
Are you gonna shoot
those ducks in Africa with a
Tim Wells (03:37):
There is a duck over
there though, a goose, the
emperor goose, you know. Theylive there's a lot of them in
South Africa. Anywhere there'swater, there's usually a few of
them and that's legal. So if Ican get one of them with my bow,
he's going in the den.
Matt Harrison (03:49):
So are you going
straight bow?
Tim Wells (03:51):
Oh, well, no.
Probably mostly spear and
Matt Harrison (03:53):
blow. Okay.
Tim Wells (03:54):
Yeah. Gonna It's be
Wow. He's gonna The be place I'm
going in I'm going in the UpperCape where most of the animals
there, there's a lot of littlestuff, you know, like the dyker
and steinbuck, and then there'sa lot of little predators.
They've got this one ranch closeby that's overrun with
springbuck, and they're aboutthat big. And so I called them
(04:15):
long time ago, I said, hey, that's just what I want for my
blow gun.
I said, would you dig me a holein the ground right next to
where they drink? And and hesaid, okay. How far away? And I
said, well, like five yards. He's like, what?
Wait. What? And I was like, no.And so they did it.
Matt Harrison (04:33):
And Did they
really?
Tim Wells (04:33):
Yeah. So I'll be
underground sniping these babies
when they're
Matt Harrison (04:36):
So how are you?
Are you gonna have, like, a
little mirror up so you can see,or you're have your like, how
are you gonna see what It's aPeriscope system.
Tim Wells (04:42):
Normally, you'd
Jimbo Robinson (04:43):
Like, one of
Matt Harrison (04:44):
those things have
a ship. Yeah. A submarine.
Sydney Wells (04:46):
He's gonna
Matt Harrison (04:46):
be searching for
a Periscope. Block.
Tim Wells (04:52):
Good idea.
Matt Harrison (04:53):
Oh, this is
great. This is great.
Tim Wells (04:55):
But no. Normally, you
just lay there and wait, you
know, you're just at the mercyof what comes in because if it
comes in left or right, yourperipheral vision picks it up
and you just sit there for hoursand wait, you know? Wow. And
then when they come in, then youstick them.
Matt Harrison (05:07):
That's crazy.
Jimbo Robinson (05:08):
Yeah.
Matt Harrison (05:09):
Sydney, what do
you have going on? I know you
have a big day coming up not tootoo far away, is it? In May.
May, which is still coming up.That'll be You just
Sydney Wells (05:17):
got married.
Matt Harrison (05:17):
I did. I did. I
know you have one coming up, but
what do you have going on inyour world right now? I know
you've been super busy andtraveling all over.
Sydney Wells (05:24):
We've been
traveling a lot. A lot of
fishing. I'm ecstatic becauseit's August now, kicking off
hunting season. Some part of theworld, the hunting seasons have
started. Africa.
But Florida, deer season's here.August out west, people are
gonna
Matt Harrison (05:37):
start hunting
Sydney Wells (05:38):
pronghorn. I'm
heading to Alaska for the first
time with my friends fromBrowning. I'm very excited
Matt Harrison (05:44):
about that. What
are you gonna be chasing?
Sydney Wells (05:46):
Ptarmigan, and
then we're gonna do some
fishing. I know it's gonna bethe end of the salmon run,
hopefully, can fly fish and getsome fish.
Matt Harrison (05:52):
That's awesome.
Wow. And now, Nathan over here
with Dive Bomb, who also has alot to do with Sydney Whales. I
know that y'all have a greatpartnership going as well as DU.
So y'all talk a little bit aboutthat, kinda y'alls how y'all got
involved with each other becauseit's a newer relationship.
It is. Right? So It is. How didthat kinda come about and kinda
(06:12):
Yes. Tell us a little
Jimbo Robinson (06:12):
bit about that.
Tim Wells (06:13):
Ducks Unlimited.
Matt Harrison (06:13):
Ducks Unlimited
and Sydney. Kinda No doubt. I
mean, it all the center of it,honestly, is all Ducks
Unlimited. Yep. In all reality,I was a a DOD, director
development for Ducks Unlimitedin Missouri.
That's how I met Cody Stokes, the founder and owner of Die
Bomb, and he gave me a greatopportunity to come over and
work on that side of the housefor him, so so it's been really
(06:34):
fun. And then obviously justworking with all my friends at
Ducks Unlimited kind of admitmade total sense. I was I was
talking to some guys here today, and I was like, man, without
without the work that DucksUnlimited does, this this
industry, this stuff wouldn'texist at all. So it's a it's a
no brainer of a partnership, andthen obviously get to work with
(06:55):
Jimbo, so.
Jimbo Robinson (06:56):
Nathan lied to
me the first time we ever met.
He was I was talking to himabout
Tim Wells (07:00):
I mentioned that.
Jimbo Robinson (07:00):
I knew his
connection with Dive Bomb, and
we met on the duck hunt, misterGary Savram, and and we're
riding out. We're about an hourand a half ride. I'm like, man,
I'm really trying to find a abrand or a company to help us
with our third term, our biguniversity that you were the
keynote speaker at a week and a
Matt Harrison (07:19):
half ago, ten
days ago, and he's like, yeah,
yeah, yeah.
Sydney Wells (07:23):
I'll go
Jimbo Robinson (07:23):
up there and
I'll talk to the guys at I'm
gonna be up there, and and andthe brands fit, and then we kind
of hit it off that day talkingabout how those brands were
gonna go together. And then likethree weeks later, a month
later, I can't remember, textedme and goes, hey, man, I'm going
to work for Dive Dive Bomb.
Matt Harrison (07:37):
And I was like,
dude, you had to have known that
Jimbo Robinson (07:38):
when we were
together.
Matt Harrison (07:40):
You just set me
up to try to get you to go and
sell it. This is the easiestsell I'll ever make here.
Jimbo Robinson (07:46):
Yeah. So that's
literally, we stayed in touch
and they jumped on ouruniversity program and it
exploded last year. Wow.
Matt Harrison (07:53):
Yeah. That was
kind of the kind of the
relationship kickoff, honestly.Absolutely.
Jimbo Robinson (07:57):
Yeah. And they
all came to our third term, 300
university leaders from acrossthe country, had a lot to do
with that show, and then we tookit to another level this year
and designed a LED sign. It'sdive o'clock somewhere. We knew
it was gonna be a hit, but wedid not I don't think any of us
anticipated how excited the kidswere gonna the university
students were gonna get, And itjust it it went crazy. And so
(08:19):
that partnership has been great, carried over into DUX this
weekend.
One of our platinum sponsors, and I mean, just the guys at
dive bomb have been beentremendous to DU and and they're
a phone call away. They sponsorour staff meeting this weekend,
you know, part of our our giftsto the RDs this year. So it's
just there's a lot that they'vedone and they filled a niche
(08:40):
that we needed. And it's twocomponents, two parts of Ducks
Unlimited that just wenttogether so well in our
university program that'sgrowing, you know, raising
$4,000,000 I mean, everybodyused to say they were the future
generation and and we call itthe generation of now. It was
something that actually CodyStokes, the owner said last
year,
Matt Harrison (08:59):
he was like, man,
Jimbo Robinson (08:59):
these kids are
today's leaders.
Matt Harrison (09:01):
Yeah. Yeah. We're
like, yep. You're right. Yeah.
Jimbo Robinson (09:02):
So For sure.
Yeah. It's been awesome.
Matt Harrison (09:03):
Yep. So y'all got
any duck hunting plans this
year? Any cool trips coming up?I know we've gotta host our
annual one, and we're going onfour years in a row of hosting
the Barstool Ducks UnlimitedDuck Hunt. We've gotta talk
about that today at some point, but do y'all have any cool plans
to chase some ducks outside ofAfrica?
Tim Wells (09:23):
Well, Sydney, nice
talking about going to Alberta
on the opener in September andshooting them with our bows this
time, you know. And we're gonnago back to dive bomb and get on
them mallards because Sydney cutsome video of, like, they were
splashing poop in their face. They were so close.
Sydney Wells (09:36):
We're going back
with our bows, so like that's a
must. In Missouri, they're inour backyard, they're two hours
away, so
Matt Harrison (09:42):
it's great.
Sydney Wells (09:42):
Last year was a
phenomenal season for us, lights
out with Mallard.
Tim Wells (09:47):
Sydney and I have a
club in Illinois, and we've got
30 acres of flooded corn, and ifit turns cold, it's game on
because we're right up against a6,000 acre lake and or no, 2,000
acre lake, but it holds a bunchof ducks when it's So Yeah.
That's exciting.
Sydney Wells (10:03):
So we'll hunt at
home. We're gonna definitely
hunt with the dive bomb guys. We're gonna do a couple more out
of offices like we've done
Jimbo Robinson (10:07):
that. Yeah.
Sydney Wells (10:08):
We did that last
year. We brought we brought two
amateurs. Okay. One fell in withhis waiters.
Matt Harrison (10:14):
Oh, that was the
best time.
Sydney Wells (10:15):
Shot his first
duck then fell in. So at least
he shot his first duck, but
Tim Wells (10:19):
first day, they're
not allowed to have shells in
the gun.
Sydney Wells (10:22):
So we're gonna be
doing a lot of, you know I'm
gonna go with Matt Judy intoWashington
Jimbo Robinson (10:28):
Oh, that
Matt Harrison (10:28):
was fun. Wigeon.
Wigeon. Wigeon Whisper.
Sydney Wells (10:31):
Yeah. We
Tim Wells (10:31):
were talking about
that teal hunt again. That
looked like it.
Sydney Wells (10:33):
Yeah. We went to
where'd we go? Utah last
Matt Harrison (10:36):
Utah.
Sydney Wells (10:36):
Yeah.
Matt Harrison (10:37):
Great Salt Lake.
That was probably the coolest
experience. Like, going in onairboats, the mountains, the
scenery, like, our whole layoutof what we were hunting in. We
were in coffin blind
Sydney Wells (10:50):
Yeah.
Matt Harrison (10:51):
And we got out
there, you know, none of us had
never done that, and then theystart sticking these silhouettes
up, and they just tuck you inbehind them, and we're like,
like, what are we doing? Andyou're in this much of water,
and it wasn't five minutes afterwe got laid down. There was
groups
Sydney Wells (11:04):
It was incredible.
Matt Harrison (11:05):
To that that
whole trip. Were those
Tim Wells (11:08):
green wings or
Matt Harrison (11:09):
Green wing. Green
winged teal. Yeah. That's all we
shot that that those coupledays.
Sydney Wells (11:14):
And it was really
interesting to see the Great
Salt Lake, and I mean, it is,you know, I went in a drought
Yeah. And it was interesting tosee what DU's doing for the
Matt Harrison (11:21):
Great 100% Salt
for sure.
Sydney Wells (11:22):
I'm more from the
Midwest, we don't see that kind
of stuff, so it was really eyeopening, and it made us really
appreciate what we got toexperience because I'm like,
man, with all the work doing,we're we're trying to keep that
around and hopefully ourgrandkids can see it one
Matt Harrison (11:35):
day. Yeah. Had
Karina Aybert join us to talk
about the initiatives aroundGreat Salt Lake and the whole
nine, and it's really cool tosee the work that Dee's putting
back in that area.
Jimbo Robinson (11:43):
Great Salt Lake
has become a focus recently.
Very much so. And and so that'sa cool place to go and and a
great story to tell. Yep. Right?
So that's that's awesome thaty'all went. I remember everybody
was watching y'all's y'all'svideos because you two are
always
Matt Harrison (11:59):
It's always are
always clowning.
Jimbo Robinson (12:00):
It was a
Tim Wells (12:00):
good good hump for
Matt because they came in big
flocks.
Matt Harrison (12:03):
Didn't They did.
Tim Wells (12:03):
You didn't have to
pick one, you could just shoot.
Matt Harrison (12:06):
Do you remember
do you remember just those wads?
I mean, it was groups of ahundred hundred green wing teal
from here That's the kind ofthat screen.
Tim Wells (12:15):
You could slock them
arrow right through the middle
Sydney Wells (12:17):
of hood.
Matt Harrison (12:18):
Yeah. And you
remember not to throw Jack under
the bus, but he struggled acouple of shots, and he was
getting so mad.
Sydney Wells (12:24):
He was
Matt Harrison (12:24):
getting so mad.
So That that's a That's a theme
for for Jack. For Jack. That's atheme. We always pick
Sydney Wells (12:30):
on Jack.
Matt Harrison (12:31):
He got locked in,
though.
Sydney Wells (12:32):
Real real quick,
though, too. We posted a picture
of that hunt, and people were inthe comments, Photoshop.
Photoshop.
Matt Harrison (12:38):
I know. Yeah.
Tim Wells (12:39):
What? Of Jack with a
deer a bucky a deer. No.
Sydney Wells (12:43):
Nine white ducks,
dude.
Matt Harrison (12:44):
Don't do that.
Sydney Wells (12:46):
Jack literally is
up on these birds.
Tim Wells (12:49):
Are you talking about
Jack with your cameraman?
Sydney Wells (12:51):
Yeah. Jack.
Matt Harrison (12:51):
That's what
Tim Wells (12:51):
I'm saying. If he's
holding a duck in the picture,
they
Matt Harrison (12:53):
might have said
he'd done Oh, She means there's
a photo of Sydney, though, like, coming up out of her coffin
blind, and there's a group ofhow many ducks?
Sydney Wells (13:01):
Like, a 100. It's
insane.
Matt Harrison (13:02):
And it like, if
you just looked at it, you would
say, oh, 100% Photoshopped. Ilike because you've got, like,
blue sky. It was like Perfectscenery. What? Like, would have
Sydney Wells (13:11):
shot one with your
bow.
Matt Harrison (13:12):
Oh, 100%. 100%.
So if
Sydney Wells (13:14):
you guys haven't
seen that, make sure you go on
Barcelo Outdoors, watch thathunt. It's incredible. You learn
a lot too. Doctor was there too,and he is he calls him doctor
doc or doctor doc.
Matt Harrison (13:23):
Doctor doc.
Jimbo Robinson (13:24):
Is this who he
is?
Matt Harrison (13:25):
Doc. That's
Dennis Lewis.
Jimbo Robinson (13:27):
Yep. Yep. He's
here this weekend.
Matt Harrison (13:28):
Yeah. Hey. So did
the amateur fall in? Did that
happen at at Kings Bend? Theamateur fall in?
She was talking about somebodyfall Oh,
Sydney Wells (13:34):
yeah. Yeah.
Matt Harrison (13:34):
Yeah. We had
Large and Spider out there who
they run the Rubbins Racing, soall the NASCAR side of things.
These two guys are just salty Imean,
Sydney Wells (13:42):
+1 63, +1 54.
Yeah.
Matt Harrison (13:45):
I was gonna say
63 and 53, but, yeah, same
thing. And and and Spider shot abeautiful Gadwald Drake first
duck, and he was he was holdingup for the camera and talking a
little bit about it, and he hestepped backwards and tripped
over a cornstalk. I mean, hiswhole head went underwater. I
mean, he was under What a coldtoo. Oh, it was we were it was
(14:05):
10 degrees, 15 degrees.
It was a it was not the time tofall. We
Jimbo Robinson (14:09):
went up there
last year in early November, and
there wasn't a lot of water, butI thought there was enough. And
so Nathan and Schuss and I madea bet with Cody Stokes and Orr
that they could run this mudmotor out to the blind. In
Arkansas, can run them anywhere.Louisiana, like, that's the mud
I'm thinking, I am guaranteeingthis bet. And it was a very
(14:32):
substantial bet that Cody Stokesmade with us, And I am like
dollar signs in my eyes.
So we tapped our expert publicland duck hunter over there,
extravaganza, Nathan to drivethis boat. Well, I'm in
Matt Harrison (14:48):
the blind. I stay
back with
Jimbo Robinson (14:49):
the orb because
we couldn't all go to land
together. And I hear the boatfire up, and it's going. And,
man, you know, you get thatfeeling when you hear something
and you know they're stuck.
Matt Harrison (14:59):
It was like,
running off the rev limiter. Oh,
it was. And we got we got justoutside of the boat ditch, and
as soon as we got out the boatditch, it was an inch and a half
of water. Oh. And it it was lessabout the boat being stuck, but
that mud that it's a hardbottom.
It's like concrete.
Jimbo Robinson (15:13):
And that's what
got us.
Matt Harrison (15:15):
Yes. There was
nothing for that pop pop.
Tim Wells (15:17):
Suction cup on.
Matt Harrison (15:18):
Yeah. Yeah.
Jimbo Robinson (15:18):
And and Stokes
knew that. And Yeah. And, man,
he got us with that bet. We lost
Matt Harrison (15:22):
No wonder he made
that bet.
Jimbo Robinson (15:23):
I know. He knew
all
Matt Harrison (15:24):
of us, but
Jimbo Robinson (15:25):
it was so funny.
And just listen to them talk
about people falling in there. That place if that place could
talk There there's a lot
Matt Harrison (15:32):
of good stories
there.
Jimbo Robinson (15:33):
Always good
stories.
Matt Harrison (15:33):
There's a lot of
good stories. Yeah. Yeah. That
was
Jimbo Robinson (15:35):
a fun time. We
had a great great hunt. Yeah.
Shot a lot of birds.
Tim Wells (15:39):
The hunt I wanna do,
I wanna go kill a a black
mallard up in New York? On thecoast, you know, if they're
somewhere. I've seen a boothcross the way here that they had
the black mallard decoys, andI'm like, oh, I bet they guide
for them, and they do. And Iguess they got gangs of them up
there. It's a sure thing.
And then you can run to thecoast and shoot idlers.
Matt Harrison (15:56):
Yeah.
(16:20):
I've got one one little bone topick about you guys with your
bows and arrows and shootingducks I hear. Is did I have to
be the arrow boy? Were you Imean I mean, after you shoot 60
flu flu arrows Oh, yeah. Like, somebody's somebody's gotta go
pick those out.
Tim Wells (16:37):
Yeah. The corn.
Matt Harrison (16:38):
It's hard
Jimbo Robinson (16:39):
enough to find
the corn.
Matt Harrison (16:40):
In the corn. Hey.
Tim Wells (16:41):
Don't complain. If
you wanna complain, go to
Argentina's with us when we'redoing a dove hunt. That's when
you gotta get deep.
Matt Harrison (16:47):
The only thing
the only thing that saved me was
finally we were just like, wegotta wait till it gets dark and
looking for these lighted knocksthat was going Were they
sticking in the ground?
Sydney Wells (16:54):
This is why I love
Stokes though because Stokes is
like, if I'm hunting, yeah,Nathan's calling and he's
picking up the arrows, they keptsaying, stop calling. Call more.
I was like, this is fun.
Matt Harrison (17:04):
Was just I was
just doing what I was told at
that point. I I couldn't doanything right, but but they
they were you guys hit a
Jimbo Robinson (17:10):
few. Really?
Yeah.
Matt Harrison (17:11):
A few.
Tim Wells (17:11):
Yeah. Sydney made a
big mistake. She took the wrong
bow. She wasn't shooting enoughspeed, and so she was hitting
the mallards, and my mybroadheads are big wide cut,
know, so they either knock youout of the sky or they bounce
off, know, and she didn't haveso when we come back we're gonna
be bringing some velocity. Yeah.
Matt Harrison (17:28):
Bring some
velocity, sharpen those things
up. I wanna see out there honingthose blades a little bit. Yeah.
Tim Wells (17:33):
Oh, yeah.
Matt Harrison (17:33):
That's the
Sydney Wells (17:34):
hunt I'm most
excited for. I honestly, after
going there last year, oh mygosh.
Tim Wells (17:39):
You might have cut it
right though because the wind
was good and a new flight wascoming in, but I guess they're
always there,
Matt Harrison (17:45):
Yeah. It's so we
have the the two zero three that
we do a lot of our social mediaaround and all that kind of
stuff, and that's a great farm, and and that's where we do most
of our hunting. And then we haveKings Bend proper is what we
call it, and we really don'thunt that very often. We pretty
much just let it sit, and thenwe'll use it for for media
stuff. So when Sydney camethrough, was the first time it
was hunted that year, and and itjust so happened to be a a nice
(18:07):
freeze up, and it was holding agood amount of birds.
Yeah.
Sydney Wells (18:09):
Yeah. I was pretty
upset we made it in and out of
office because Nathan and I werewere eating
Matt Harrison (18:12):
I was dying. I
was dying. I was like, we've
gotta shoot these birds. Theywere, like, 10 feet from us,
miss.
Sydney Wells (18:18):
I'm like, oh gosh.
Jimbo Robinson (18:19):
Yeah. Yeah.
Matt Harrison (18:21):
That's about,
like, Feinberg and them.
Sydney Wells (18:23):
Oh, yeah.
Matt Harrison (18:23):
I'll never forget
one moment.
Sydney Wells (18:25):
Cartoon where the
guy when he's gone rabbit
hunting? Is that Elmer Fudd?Yeah. That's how our coworkers
were shooting their guns.
Jimbo Robinson (18:31):
Forget. We were
we were
Matt Harrison (18:33):
at Cason
Schwartz, Bill Byers, and it was
a cold, cold morning, and it wasso cold, and it was so funny.
Right at light, there were birdseverywhere. And Feitelberg was
over there, or either it wasDonnie or Donnie. Donnie. I
think it was Donnie.
He was over there, and he waslike, I can't load my gun. My
hands are and he's like, overhere trying to put it in his
(18:54):
shells. Like, let
Sydney Wells (18:55):
me look at you.
This is the first time they've
ever hunted too. So, like, that's the best part of the out
of office, though. They've neverduck hunted. They don't even
know what duck hunting reallyentails, and now they're going
back and telling all theirfriends how much
Matt Harrison (19:05):
they love duck
hunting.
Jimbo Robinson (19:06):
That was when
y'all did, like, the question
and answer in their lobby.
Tim Wells (19:10):
You know,
Jimbo Robinson (19:10):
asking what kind
birds it was? With the redhead
and
Matt Harrison (19:12):
all that stuff.
Jimbo Robinson (19:13):
Yeah. Kason's a
great friend of ours and and
he'll be on tomorrow. Him andBrent Birch are coming down. I
got to go youth hunting with myson and Mac and Byers, his boys
and Ford, after y'all left, Igot to hear about some of y'all
stories.
Matt Harrison (19:29):
Oh, so That was
hilarious.
Sydney Wells (19:30):
We're going on a
dove hunt with dive bomb crew in
Texas, and that's what I'm kindanervous about because they're
not gonna crap.
Matt Harrison (19:36):
It's gonna be
it's gonna be really fun. The
the out of office idea was thatwas it did
Sydney Wells (19:42):
you come up with
that, Sydney? Yeah. Me and my
old producer, Sean.
Matt Harrison (19:44):
It's golden. It
it is. It is smart, and it's so
much fun to, like, just show newpeople what we do and get it out
there, and it's just sorelatable. That's what I love
about the whole thing is you gotpeople coming in, and this is a
testament to Sydney too and whatshe does, but bringing in people
and not just showing them theside of hunting, but also
explaining and getting theminvolved with somebody like
Ducks Unlimited to say, hey, welove to hunt, but here's why we
(20:06):
love to hunt. We get to giveback.
Yep. We're conservation focused. We're one foot in front of the
other and putting back into whatwe love to do, and so not only
are they getting their firstexperience of getting to chase
ducks in Arkansas or somewherelike that, but also learning why
we love it so much. And sothat's one of my favorite things
about the out of office is yougot people that have no clue
(20:27):
Well totally fair. Abouthunting.
Sydney Wells (20:29):
A big shout out to
y'all though because this is why
I do a lot of the out of officeswith Dive Bomb or Ducks
Unlimited is because we wannaset them up for success.
Matt Harrison (20:38):
For sure.
Sydney Wells (20:38):
So if the next
time they go, they're like, oh,
wait. This doesn't suck thoughbecause I've been on a hunt
where it was awesome.
Matt Harrison (20:42):
For sure.
Because, if they just take them
to the farm, they might not beseeing any of that.
Tim Wells (20:47):
Slockmaster sucks.
But Dave's been saying that for
three years, and he keeps comingback.
Sydney Wells (20:54):
Yeah. Oh, I mean,
we took two of our our coworkers
deer hunting, and now one winterbreak for work, White Sox Dave
has been going and hanging
Matt Harrison (21:02):
out with mom and
dad at the farm that he's been
trying to shoot a
Tim Wells (21:05):
But in my defense, we
even have video of him running
down a field trying to chase acoyote with his bow, you know.
So I mean, the technique mightbe part of the problem.
Matt Harrison (21:15):
Well, the out
Jimbo Robinson (21:16):
of office is
big. It's it's it's it's a big
it's a big thing for not gettingthose those people out there,
but it's where the core ofrelationships are made. And
that's that's a lot what thisweekend's about too, right? I
mean, having people come in, sitdown, becomes reunions for
outdoorsmen all the time. Andthey get to see what we do and
(21:39):
you know, it's it's so much fun,and that's where these stories
are made.
Yeah. But that's where a lot ofcollaboration happens too.
Tim Wells (21:45):
Yeah. Cindy's group
is so don't
Jimbo Robinson (21:48):
go all the time,
get those opportunities to
collaborate, and you you fromtheir perspective. Our
perspective is probably similar, but their perspective is a lot
different. Yeah. And that'swhere the fun is made. They pick
up on the small things.
Yeah. And that's what's so coolabout what we do and what we get
to do.
Tim Wells (22:01):
The cool thing about
Barstool with Sydney though is
all her other friends that workthere, when they bring when she
brings them into the audience, their audience is so foreign to
Jimbo Robinson (22:11):
hunting Yep. And
fishing
Tim Wells (22:12):
Yep. And it's a good,
you know, stigma that a lot of
them just don't like us becausewe're killers, know. But then
when they realize, no, thesepeople are about conservation
and about making more animalsand releasing those fish and
they're laughing and they'rehaving fun. Yeah. They're with
so and so, you know?
Matt Harrison (22:29):
I think, I don't
remember if it was large or
spider, but they both were like, wait, you put in all this money
just for the ducks? And we'relike, well, that's that's the
point. We're like, that's whatwe do.
Jimbo Robinson (22:39):
Well, I mean, so
we had the mayor here yesterday
walking him around and givinghim a tour, and when he walked
in, you know, it was that momentof like, we we don't to us, we
don't look at it as like, oh mygosh. To other people, they're
Matt Harrison (22:50):
probably like,
y'all are crazy.
Jimbo Robinson (22:52):
Yeah. 100%.
Y'all do they walk in and like,
yeah, that jacket's $600 and andyeah, those waiters are $800 and
Yeah. Yeah. You kill a duck?
Yeah. You do all this to gochase anything, duck, deer,
mean, whatever. And so, yeah, you're right. It's so far it's
so foreign to them, but how manypeople you think you've
introduced to the outdoors?
Sydney Wells (23:09):
Oh. Well, if you
bring the audience in
Matt Harrison (23:14):
Yeah.
Sydney Wells (23:14):
Yeah. I would
Tim Wells (23:14):
say aliens. You can't
count her.
Matt Harrison (23:16):
You can't count
Jimbo Robinson (23:16):
You can't. Yeah.
What's really cool is is y'all
can't see it. I can't. This viewis kinda cool actually, by the
way.
But we've had two young girlswalk by, and they've stood there
right behind that thing in justIt's been really neat to see
when it's just Matt and I,people just pass by, to have
somebody they can look up to hasbeen really cool to watch Yeah.
Their eyes glow seeing yousitting here and I think that's
(23:37):
the who Matt an
Tim Wells (23:38):
even eye.
Matt Harrison (23:38):
I don't
Jimbo Robinson (23:39):
if that was a
problem.
Matt Harrison (23:39):
Yeah. I know.
Jimbo Robinson (23:42):
She saw these
two over here. But it's it's
it's really cool. So
Sydney Wells (23:46):
I that's I love
it. It's so much fun. It is fun
working at Barstool too becauseit is a completely different
audience, brings in newperspective, and we just did a
bass fishing tournament, and itwas hilarious.
Matt Harrison (23:56):
Bad Barbie. That
was such a
Sydney Wells (23:58):
great video. Some
of those guys have never fished
before, some have, but, like, people wouldn't know, and the
audience is like, wait. What'sgoing on? What's a spawn? Wait.
Is this bad? What's happening?
Matt Harrison (24:08):
The amount of
people that didn't that had
never seen a flogger before, youknow, like the the spot the
smallie spotters that, you know, you can see underneath, like,
that's a tournament thing thatguys have been using for gosh
knows how long. It's like, y'allare y'all are using these big
tube things to see downunderwater? Like, yeah, that's
part of it.
Sydney Wells (24:25):
Well, like, now
growing up, my dad's like he
would rather shoot he wouldrather watch me shoot a white
tail than anybody, you know, than himself, and now I'm
starting to get that perspectivewith not white tail, but I'm
starting to get that thatperspective with bringing my
coworkers. That was so much morefun for me.
Tim Wells (24:43):
Yeah. That was a
funny show. If you haven't seen
it, folks, gotta watch itbecause she forced her her folks
from the office to use Barbiereels, know. You got extra
points if you caught a smallieon a Barbie doll reel or
whatever.
Sydney Wells (24:56):
Yeah. Was one of
the best fishing too on Lake
Michigan. People were like, youcan fish outside of Chicago?
Matt Harrison (25:00):
Oh, yeah.
Tim Wells (25:00):
There are skyscrapers
right behind you while you're
catching That's three poundpretty cool.
Matt Harrison (25:04):
Yeah. That's
awesome. It is
Jimbo Robinson (25:06):
watching
watching that those types of
things and watching theexcitement, and, you know, I'm
lucky enough, he gets to watchyou do it, I get to watch my son
do it, and and I I've neverthought that my mind would ever
get there of, like, I love toshoot and I love to to share in
that, but then you do. Youbecome that that you would
rather your son shoot, as Mattalluded to earlier, on a on a
(25:31):
previous one, I carry the bag ofsnacks now. I forgot my gun
opening day or some point lastyear, and it was like, it didn't
matter to me. Like, I didn'tcare that much watching Tripp
get to do it, and now watchingmy daughter too, six years old.
She killed her first duck thisyear.
(25:51):
Really exciting, and and and ittook us a lot to get that that
smiling Mallard, but thatexcitement is the same
excitement you get with watchingnew people and the gleam in
their eye, and it never getsold. Yeah. Never gets old.
Totally agree.
Matt Harrison (26:04):
Yep. Totally
agree. Well, thank all y'all so
much for carving time out ofyour busy schedule. I know we
have a lot going on. I know alot of people wanna see you
guys.
Like Jimbo said, I've seen acouple walk by and said, what?
Demo.
Jimbo Robinson (26:15):
Yeah. They are.
Matt Harrison (26:16):
I know.
Jimbo Robinson (26:17):
That's what's
been going
Matt Harrison (26:17):
I know a lot of
people are looking forward to
meet y'all. Thank you so much,Nathan, Sydney, Jimbo. Michelle,
thank you.
Jimbo Robinson (26:23):
Tell the
audience. This live live on
YouTube. So tell them how longy'all gonna be here, kinda what
your schedule is, what yourschedule is so that if people
are thinking about coming andthey wanna come and hang out
with y'all, what is
Tim Wells (26:31):
the If you're in
Alabama, you better hurry. We
leave today at 04:00.
Matt Harrison (26:36):
So you better
hurry.
Jimbo Robinson (26:37):
Better hurry.
Sydney Wells (26:38):
Yeah. If you're
watching right now, we got,
what, about two hours? So he'shanging out at Bass Pro, hanging
out at Dive Bomb.
Tim Wells (26:44):
Yep. One of our best
friends. What's this knife here?
Jimbo Robinson (26:46):
I I I'm sitting
above you holding a knife. I'm a
little nervous. What we gothere?
Matt Harrison (26:49):
Okay. I gotta
show this
Sydney Wells (26:50):
off because my
good friends, MKC Montana Knife
Company, are here. I am so proudto work with them. I've been
with them for four years. I justsaw Brandon, so Brandon and Josh
created MKC. They are the bestknives.
I love them. I carry them on meall the time, but they have the
mini Speedgoat. He actually justhanded it to me. He's like,
here, walk around with this andkeep it. I'm like, I will keep
(27:11):
it.
Somebody's gonna try to steal itfrom me.
Matt Harrison (27:14):
I already I
already Well, she brought it
over to me, and she was holdingit up like this. I've been
asking her for months. Can youget me a can you get me a
Sydney Wells (27:20):
knife? Yeah. It's
super sharp, but much.
Matt Harrison (27:22):
Yeah. Exactly.
You got her. Exactly.
Tim Wells (27:24):
Watch where you lay
Sydney Wells (27:25):
it down.
Matt Harrison (27:25):
Beautiful. Now.
Well, I've been sitting above it
for the last thirty fiveminutes. At it. Myself.
Awesome. I like the size of it.Yeah. It's
Sydney Wells (27:33):
a bit
Matt Harrison (27:33):
a gunk.
Sydney Wells (27:34):
Inches, but Yeah.
I carry one on every single
trip. I have a fillet knife.It's a hook, a collab fillet
knife that I carry everywhere. Ialways leave it, and somebody
has to ship it to me.
But, no, they these are trulythe best knives I've ever used,
and I love them. And this is agreat knife, like, my fiance,
has this on his pocket, on himon himself, on his body every
(27:54):
day for work. Am I okay? No.
Tim Wells (27:57):
But Alright. You've
already earned their $25. That
was a nice one.
Matt Harrison (28:00):
Shameless plug.
Sydney Wells (28:05):
He's such a brat.
I love MKC though, so check him
out. But I'll probably behanging out on the dive bomb
booth, so
Tim Wells (28:10):
Yeah.
Sydney Wells (28:11):
With this guy over
here.
Tim Wells (28:12):
She'll be there.
Matt Harrison (28:12):
She'll be
Sydney Wells (28:13):
there for
Tim Wells (28:14):
goldsteel.com. That's
my 25. Okay.
Matt Harrison (28:17):
Oh, man. Well,
thank y'all y'all so much Again,
I hope y'all have a great restof the show. Thank y'all for
what y'all do for DucksUnlimited and Wetlands

Sydney Wells (28:26):
Appreciate it.
