Scott Thorn wouldn’t exist, as a solo artist that is, if it wasn’t for his wife! This singer/songwriter was pushed by his wife to finally take his original stuff public. Scott humbly thanks her, as well as nearly every person he’s worked with, before ever touting his own accomplishments. Which are many! He’s already a very prolific writer and has many songs written, he was one of five artists picked to write a song for the 2016 Acoustic Guitar Project, and has worked with many skilled producers. Scott is full of stories and happily shares his thoughts on many topics from Shoe Trees to his beautiful Gibson guitar.
This National City, CA resident, traveling by way of Florida, D.C, and many other places, has evolved his sound through his travels, as well as his many projects he been a part of. From Hair Metal to Country, and recording for the first time at Blitz Recording studio he’s nailed down who Scott Thorn is…musically. We preview three of his songs, one being a NEVER BEFORE HEARD acoustic version of a new song! Once again, we get another DEBUTON here on the Futon. Check out his newest album “Broken Horses” out now.

Cardiac Cowboys
The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
