the version of you we haven't met yet.
.My name is Wes Koons andwelcome back to the show.

(00:31):
it has been a great season so far, andI just got back from Florida yesterday.
My little girl, Sidney got engaged.
I am so excited.
. Her and Abraham.
I tease him and call himAbraham father of many nations.
, he ignores me a littlebit, but he's a great guy.

(00:53):
we went down to Florida.
My dad my sister and I were there as asurprise and got to watch her get engaged.
It was really cool.
I am so grateful for that.
And Sydnee, if you ever listento the show, I want Grand Babies.
Remember that?
I'm excited.
I'll let you know when the babiesare coming and when the wedding is.
It is gonna be fun.

(01:15):
We've had a ton of new listeners,I mean a ton of new listeners.
I had a new listener reachout recently, Samantha.
She is in Spain.
She's super cool.
She's a psychic medium andshe's gonna come on the show.
That's gonna be really fun.
I'm looking forward to that.
We've got lots of guests alreadysigned up and ready to come,

(01:38):
but this week I needed to do it by myself.
if you listen to the episodewhere my brother died, I gotta be
honest, man, I've been strugglingwith that at such a deep level.
On May 1st, we're supposedto spread his ashes.

(02:01):
And I'm struggling with that.
, I'm just, I'm just reallystruggling with that.
I thought that, this healer is gonnastep up and we're gonna help the
family heal and rejoin and reconnecteverybody, and None of that happened.
Nobody wanted to hear my words.
Nobody wanted to.

(02:23):
Reconnect.
And that's bothered me.
maybe we weren't supposed to, I don'tknow, but I talk about this stuff and I,
I do this healing work and I'm like, whyhaven't I been able to fix the family?

(02:43):
And so we're going onMay 1st, somewhere up.
In the Charlottesville area and um,
there's gonna be a bunch ofpeople there that I don't know.
, I don't think anybody in.
My family's going, I'm going

(03:04):
and I get to hear people talk aboutthis stranger that was my brother,
because we didn't have a relationship.
Dennis came and hung out about anhour a year with the family and.
That's, that's, , that's what he wanted.
But I love my brother.
I love my brother, and it'sweird not having him here.
So, you know, at the end of theday, this podcast, when we did it, I

(03:25):
decided if I do it, I'm gonna be real.
I'm gonna tell my story, I'mgonna tell where I'm at, and
I'm been struggling, I am
looking forward to this day to be over.
that's why this podcastdidn't come out on Saturday.
I didn't have it in me to recordbecause I knew I had to talk

(03:49):
about Dennis and I didn't want to.
It was cool.
Being down in Florida, my momcame in, sometimes she comes
in like a freight train, right?
we're sitting thereeating pizza with Sydnee.
We're all at dinner, and all of asudden, boom, she's there and she's
talking to me and I'm hearing stuff.

(04:10):
And my daughter's like, dude, what the fuck are you doing?
I'm like, oh, your nanny's here.
She's like, you're being weird.
So that was cool.
I know Mom was there when she got engaged.
I like being able tohave those conversations.
I don't have a lot of thosewith Dennis right now.
I'll hear him if I speak directly to himor if I play a Certain America album.

(04:33):
There's a, I think thesong is Horse With No Name.
That's Dennis's song.
That's a song that I remember he likedand I'll feel his energy come in.
So I play that two or three timesa day just to feel close to him.
But the cool thing is we just broke4,100 downloads on the podcast, and I

(04:54):
don't even know how many countries we'rein, so I just wanted to say thank you.
Thank you for listening.
Thank you for participating.
Thank you for reachingout and asking questions.
somebody asked me, they said,Wes, what exactly do you do?
So this is exactly what I do.
I am a Reiki master quantumhealing expert, and basically

(05:17):
what I do is I connect withpeople in person or through Zoom.
And I remove the energiesthat no longer serve them.
That's an easy way to explain it.
Jesus flows through me to heal meand together we heal the world.
So when, when I was down at, when I wasdown in Florida this last week, Sidney

(05:41):
says, can you work on Abraham and myself?
I'm like, sure.
And, Abraham's such a sweet guy.
He is like, I don't knowwhat you're doing, but okay.
, he kind of goes with theflow with Sidney and um.
So we're doing this healingwork and he gets up.
He's like, how's my headache gone?
How's that pain in my foot gone?
I'm like, that's justhow it works, brother.
You know?

(06:02):
That's what we do.
So I clear pain from people.
I remove energetic blocks.
We do a lot more.
So if you're interested in that, you could always reach out.
You can find me online at VB Healeras in Virginia Beach healer.com.
Find me on Instagram.
VB healer and send me a message.

(06:22):
We'll talk about it.
It's gonna be fun.
So here soon, we're having a psychicfair in Virginia Beach, so some of y'all
are gonna come to that, some of youare not, but it's gonna be super cool.
My friend Dawn is putting that on.
And we're doing a fundraiserfor my friend Betsy.
We're gonna help her.

(06:42):
Little boy Carson.
We're gonna raise somemoney for him to get braces.
We helped him get a service dog afew years ago,, trying to do , , some
community work, do some servicework, help friends and family, and
get this one program off the groundhere soon, I don't know, maybe
later this year, God's Kitchen.
So I've got God's kitchen.org.

(07:02):
I. And what we want to do is createthis commercial kitchen where we then
shuttle food to different churchesin the community, and help feed
our community because one out of 10families in Hampton Roads doesn't know
where their next meal is coming from.
And I gotta be honest, thatdoesn't make sense to me.
In 2025, somebody lookingfor a meal is mind boggling.

(07:29):
So we're gonna work on that.
We're gonna try to.
We're not gonna try, we're gonnafix that problem in this community
and try to make a difference.
So if you know me personally,I've been struggling with
health issues for a long time.
Being a combat marine, in the firstGulf War, one of the things they

(07:53):
gave us a title for, or there wasa medical diagnosis, which isn't
really a medical diagnosis, is.
Unexplained illnesses.
So I get sick a lot, right?
I've already missed like35% of this year being sick.
Couldn't figure it out.
So I went and
met with this new doctor and she said,I want you to do a parasite cleanse.

(08:18):
So, uh, I, I've heard about those.
I've heard people talk about those.
My primary care doctor did a little scan.
She said, yeah, we did a test.
You're clear.
but the reality is I orderedthis over the counter medication
from CCO CE, L-L-C-O-R-E, CCO,and did this parasite cleanse.

(08:41):
I gotta be honest, everythingis changing for me.
Clearly I had stuff going on.
And when I was talking to this doctor, she said, it's not if you have parasites.
It's how many do you have?
I did my first cleanse on the lastfull moon, the blood moon, and the
full moon coming up in a coupleweeks, I'm gonna do it again.

(09:02):
I guess you do the cleanse onthe full moon because that's
when stuff's active in your body.
So I am feeling better,my inflammation is down.
I'm not grinding my teeth.
I am not craving sweets.
The pain in my body is significantly less.
I even stopped chewing my fingernails.
Isn't that craziest thing I, I hatedthat I did that, but I just never really

(09:27):
paid attention and it was a habit.
But since the cleanse, allthese things have shifted.
So , my public service announcement isif you haven't done a parasite cleanse,
just because we live in the UnitedStates of America does not mean that
you can't have that if you have dogs, cats, fish, been in the ocean, been in

(09:49):
a lake, walked barefooted, and I've seensome of the people y'all have dated.
You might need a parasitecleanse just saying.
If you have questions onthat, reach out to me.
I'll be happy to answer.
at the end of the day, I justwant everybody to feel better and
I am starting to feel fantastic.

(10:12):
, the funny thing is, , I can dothis healing work, but I'm sick.
I'm like, how does that work?
And you know, if you have a thirdparty that's causing problems for
you, that makes a lot of sense to me.
I will let you know howthat goes as time goes by.
Seriously, if you haven't done one, Ithink you should seriously consider it.

(10:35):
Your health is important.
We talk about mental healthon here all the time.
We're starting to talkabout physical health.
I just received, or I just orderedthis, Reverse osmosis system.
This water thing Fawn was telling meabout, she was on the show a couple
months ago, or maybe a month anda half ago, something like that.
If you haven't listened toher episode, it's fantastic.

(10:58):
And like, here, taste this water.
And when I drank it, I'm like, this water tastes amazing.
I'm trying to do something different.
I'll be 56 this year.
I know I'm gonna live a long time.
My dad's 92 and that dude, man,
dad plays golf 115 times a year.
He'll beat your ass.

(11:19):
He'll take your money.
He'll joke you.
He'll probably out drink youand I wouldn't wanna piss him
off 'cause he might grab you.
So the old man is rolling andI talked to him this weekend.
And he said, yeah, I played,my 527th time that I've shot
golf and shot my age or less.

(11:42):
I don't know much about golf, butthat sounds pretty impressive to me.
So Pop, good on you for doing that.
one of the questions that I received fromsomebody was, Wes, what keeps you going?
, I've listened to your podcast.
Here's some crazy stuffthat you've gone through.
, how do you do it?
Because at the end ofthe day, I'm not perfect.

(12:04):
I'm not perfectly healed.
I struggle just like everybody else.
I just struggle at adifferent level these days.
And I told him, I said, brother, I said, you know what?
Prayer, prayer.
Gets me through.
when I am festering over a pastrelationship or some trauma or whatever,

(12:26):
getting outta my head can be difficult.
So the first thing I dois get outta my energy.
If I'm sitting on the sofa,I am not gonna sit there.
And worry about this bullshitrelationship that wasn't serving me.
I'm gonna get up and move.
And quite frankly, I say Spirit has this.
Spirit has me, spirit has thisspirit, has me hundreds sometimes

(12:49):
thousands of times a day.
I can't be sad andbroken when I'm praying.
I can't be sad and brokenwhen I'm moving my feet.
And let's be honest, we talkabout the beauty and the pain

(13:09):
on this show all the time.
I say there's a version of you thatwe haven't met yet, and together
we're gonna find that person.
We're not gonna find that persondoing the same stuff over and over.
We have got to look for the blessings thatare in front of us, even when it hurts.

(13:34):
And I gotta be honest, I don'tknow what the blessing is for my
brother dying at the age of 62.
I don't know what those blessings are.
I went down to Florida this weekend.
I gotta see my son for thesecond time in 13 years, and he
doesn't wanna look me in the eye.
And I'm like, what?
Is going on.
Why can't we communicate?

(13:56):
Why can't we be friends?
But you know what?
That's his deal, not mine.
Somebody suggested that maybeit's his lesson and not mine,
even though it affects me.
So I keep putting prayers to that.
I asked God today, I said, Hey,

(14:17):
I don't know what this journey iswithout having Taylor in my life every
day, but can you send him protection?
Can you send him my love?
Can you bring him back?
So I don't know what that's gonna looklike, but I'm not gonna be bitter.

(14:37):
I'm not gonna be angry.
I'm not gonna.
Piss and moan about it.
It is what it is.
I got to talk to my kid for 30 or 40minutes and he hugged me, told me he
loved me, and I'll probably see him atSidney's wedding and that's about it.
Those are his choices.
They're definitely not mine.

(14:59):
Yeah, I, I found it, I found itinteresting the last two weeks.
The podcast has grownsignificantly, right?
But at the same time,in the last two weeks.
I've done more prayers.
I've asked God to take the wheel.

(15:21):
I have asked him to deliver themessage that we're trying to deliver
to the people that need to hear it.
we've got a ton of peoplein Spain listening.
We've got a, France isgoing off the rails.
I think we've had like 87episodes listened to in the
last week and a half in France.
So France, thank you.

(15:41):
We appreciate you.
We appreciate you guys being on the show.
And I'm just excited.
We were talking the otherday, I said, I'm excited.
Somebody actually wants to hear me talk.
My brother Dennis, he used to seeall the time, shut the fuck up.
And when we were little, he'dbeat me up if I was talking.

(16:02):
I don't want to go backand get beat up anymore.
But those are fond memories.
Dennis, I know you hear me.
I just want to tell youI love you, brother,
and this has been hard.
But I was listening toJoel Osteen the other day.
I love listening to him.
And there was an episode that saidthat God sees everything, every

(16:24):
injustice that has ever happened to you.
And he is gonna pay you back withsomething that you've never even
earned, that you're gonna receivethis blessing that is bigger than
anything you could ever imagine.
And I remember when I heard that, Isaid, , I like that, And I stopped

(16:48):
right there and I said, God.
This is Wesley, the one you love.
'cause Joel said youshould pray like that.
Say, this is Andrea the one youlove, because he knows who we are.
And when I say those words,I hear his voice in my head.

(17:12):
I said I would really like that blessing.
Please.
See, I don't say anymore.
If it is your will, I will receive it.
It is his will.
All you have to do is ask.
Our word is so powerful.
Lakota says One prayer is morepowerful than a nuclear bomb.

(17:39):
And she's right because I can doprayers and it's felt around the world,
and a bomb is felt in a single area.
I can change the vibration of theworld by doing my prayers changing,
my vibration, healing me, and growingand becoming who I came here to be.

(18:03):
, I've got this coworking spacethat I own in Virginia Beach
Chems, Phil Executive Center.
If you don't know what a coworkingspace is, it, it is private
offices that you can rent.
There's other places around townand your community too that are
there, but it wasn't really sellingout and I didn't understand it.

(18:24):
when I really looked at it, there wassome anger that I carried towards my
dad because that was his building.
I am currently purchasing thatbuilding and I was frustrated with him.
So I really took sometime and I let that go.
And it's interesting how this works within10 minutes of me letting that energy go.

(18:51):
during that 10 minutes, Isent my dad a text and told
him what I thought about him.
I was crystal clear.
I said, daddy, youalways sacrificed for us.
And I want you to know that we allsee that and we appreciate it, that
you've always treated us as equals.

(19:13):
And when you were angry withus, you had the conversation.
And when we were done.
You treated us the same, that you'vealways been there when we needed you,
and I want you to know that we see it.
We appreciate it.

(19:33):
I appreciate you and I love you.
Thank you for the sacrifices that youmade for me to have the life that I have.
That's what I told my dad.
You know what?
He didn't text me back,

(19:56):
so the whole day goes by.
I'm like, all right, I know you got it.
And then he calls and he said, son, I didn't want a text.
I wanted to call.
in my mind I'm like, he could havesaid thanks and called later, but
that's my ego, that's my expectation.
And if you have a 38 second conversationwith dad, that's a long conversation and

(20:19):
I am not exaggerating on the time period.
Okay.
we always time it so wecan tell my sisters.
I'll call Barb, say, Hey, I hada 39 second conversation with dad
today when I had heart surgery.
I got a thumbs up and goodluck text He called me and we
talked for like nine minutes.
We've never had a nine minuteconversation, so tell me that.

(20:43):
Our word is not powerful.
. I released my anger.
I set my frustrations aside becausedad is not going to talk to me
the way I wanna be talked to.
He's not gonna talk to methe way I wanna be spoken to.
He's not going to come over andsay, son, gosh, I'm so proud of you.

(21:08):
You're such an amazing blah, blah, blah.
He's not doing that.
So my expectations ofwhat I want from him.
Either is gonna put me in a positionof anger and frustration and victim
energy like it has for decades, or Ican let that go and say, you know what?

(21:31):
Daddy's 92 years old.
And I know he loves me.
And hell, when I went down to Floridathis time, right when I seen him,
he's, , he was kind of a dick.
I'm like, all right, I'mgoing to the bathroom now.
I did some prayers, cleared myenergy, and came out and sat down.

(21:51):
And everything changed.
I changed my energy.
I released the pain and angerthat I carried in my body.
The expectations that I carried to Floridawas vibrating off of me and dad reacted.
So I healed that in me and therest of the time we had the
most wonderful conversation.

(22:14):
So tell me your words.
Not powerful.
Tell me things aren't going great for you.
That's because your energy andyour vibration has set the tone.
within 10 minutes of me letting that go,sending that text message that, you know,
a day went by before I got anything.

(22:35):
I got my first call and thenmy second call and within two
hours I had five people call andI rented two spaces that day.
It's because my energy that I carriedwas blocking people coming to me.
Now somebody may say, well, thatcould have happened anyways,

(22:57):
maybe., why didn't it happen sooner?
Our word
is powerful.
So when my son and my ex-wife show up atthe event for Sidney, getting engaged.
neither one of them looked at me.
Neither one of them wouldpay attention to me.
I'm like, I don't understand that.

(23:19):
I don't wanna be hanging out with myex-wife all day, but at the end of the
day, she's the mother of my children.
I want her to be healthy.
I want her to be loved.
I want her to have everythingin life that she can have.
Why would I not want that for her?
And they show up andthey don't look at me.
And then after a few minutes she hasto look and I'm like, Hey, how are you?
I was like, wow, youlook really fantastic.

(23:40):
I'm so glad you're here.
Can you believe ourbaby's getting engaged?
, I kept an open heart.
And then when my son wouldn't look at me,I wanted to go to the bathroom and cry.
I haven't had a relationship in 13 years.
all I did was divorce his mom.
Previous to that, wewere thick as thieves.

(24:00):
It doesn't make sense to me, but at theend of the day, that is where we're at.
No matter how many times I've reachedout, no matter how many times I've tried.
So I thought to myself, stop it.
I closed my eyes.
I took a deep breath.

(24:22):
I let the energy out.
And I just enjoyed myself.
And you know what?
Within a few minutes hestarts talking to me.
His mom starts talking to me.
She even paid mecompliments on my barbecue.
I could cook some barbecue.
It ain't gonna taste like horsemeat, I can tell you that.

(24:45):
But she and I ran a
professional competitionbarbecue team back in the day.
I told her, when we competed,we separated and I was still
competing, and I let her know.
I said, , I never cooked as well as Ihad when you were on the team with me.
she just looked at me, she said, thank you, that means a lot.
I said, you're welcomebecause it's the truth.

(25:08):
We did better together at cooking, butthe reality is we had stayed past the
expiration date of our relationship.
So
is your word important?
Are your thoughts important?
I practiced the principlesthat I've learned.

(25:30):
I practiced the principles that we teach.
I gotta be honest, man, it changes things.
It took me a second to getthere, but it changes things.
, my daughter
Sidney called me about six, eight monthsago and she said, daddy, I want to

(25:51):
get married, but I don't want to havethe marriage that you and mommy had.
And that broke my heart to hear.
I thought about that.
And at the time I told her, Isaid, honey, you've already got
a relationship that mommy and Ididn't have when we were married.
you're beyond that.
And the more I thought aboutthis, and I told Abraham this

(26:13):
when I seen him this weekend.
I said, , Sidney had shared this with me.
This is what she said.
And his kind of eyes get a little big.
And I said, I really thought about that.
And I said, Abraham, the differencebetween you and Sydney being married and
Tina and I getting married when I wasyour age, you're a better man than me.

(26:37):
It's what it is.
You've got a beautifulrelationship with my daughter.
You treat her well.
I mean, I didn't even feel itnecessary to threaten to beat
his ass if he ever touched her.
And if you know me on a personallevel, that's probably a
conversation I might have withsomebody who's dating my daughter.

(26:58):
I don't need that becausethat's not who he is.
But I let him know.
I said, you're.
Apples to apples same age, you're abetter man than me and I appreciate
the way you treat my daughter.
How you watch your words with her, howwhen she or you guys get in, conflict,

(27:19):
which happens, you watch what yousay, because our words are powerful.
You can say something that willstick there for decades, lifetimes.
So needless to say, thiswas a beautiful weekend.
I gotta tell you this, my poor sister,we come out of the museum, they

(27:46):
got engaged in the museum, right?
And it rained.
And this little five foot long electriccar comes hauling ass down the street.
Swerves on purpose, hitsthis giant puddle of water.
And my sister Barbs, she'scovered from head to toe.
Abraham's mom, I don't know who else inthe party got soaked, but luckily I'm

(28:10):
holy and spiritual and I was protected.
They got soaking wet.
, they had to take their shoesoff to get the water out.
So it was funny.
I tried not to laugh, but I justthought you needed to hear that story.
It was great, but we gotlots of cool things going on.

(28:33):
I believe if, yeah, I thinkBrittany's coming in Friday.
We're gonna do a special episode.
She's gonna help me with, and wegot lots of cool things coming.
Lakota's gonna be here April, the weekend of April 11th.
If you're local, you wantto participate, you can.
If you want a reading fromher and you're in France, we

(28:56):
can set that up through Zoom.
It's really cool.
She does beautiful work.
And again, I just wanted to say thank you.
So don't forget, you are beautiful, you're gifted, you're loved.
Every step you take raises your vibration, every breath you take heals your body.

(29:17):
Jesus flows through us to heal us,and together we heal the world.
Those are good affirmations to remember.
Your one vibrational shift away frombecoming the person that you desire to be.
Change your mindset, change your world.
Get up off the sofa, move your body.

(29:40):
And I tell you what, if you're strugglingwith keeping positive thoughts like me,
I've struggled my whole life with that.
I started cold plunging.
Joe Rogan talks about that all the time.
I'm like, man, I don't know.
So this fall,

(30:02):
I was still struggling.
If you remember, I got thatconcussion last June, , that
concussion really screwed me up.
So I'd wake up in the morningand just roll over and grab my
pillow and cry for three hoursand not even know why I'm crying.
So that was a side effectof that concussion.
I remember just laying there sobbingand I asked God, take this from me.

(30:30):
Take this from me, and Iheard the words I will.
Then all of a sudden it popped inmy head , I needed to jump in the
swimming pool and do a cold plunge.
And I tell you what, I did thatand three minutes later, 'cause you
only need to be in it for like threeminutes, dude, it changed everything.

(30:54):
I felt great.
So I started coming home from workand cold plunging in the afternoon,
cold plunge when I got home.
It was a little chilly in February.
But it makes a difference.
It shifts something in my brain.
So what are you doing different?
What are you going to do different?

(31:17):
Isn't it about time?
I mean, it's about time, right?
A friend of mine says, I've got anxiety.
Yeah.
Okay.
Well.
Get up, get off the sofa.
Go walk around the block 18 times.
See if you're still depressed after that.
Just a thought.

(31:37):
Good cold plunge.

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
