Diving into the nitty-gritty of financial confidence, we explored the idea that no matter how much we save or budget, there's always that nagging voice of doubt whispering, 'What if it isn't enough?' But here's the kicker: your financial peace isn't tethered to your bank account or your spreadsheet; it's anchored in Christ. We took a stroll through some powerful scriptures that remind us where our true peace lies. From John 14:27 to Philippians 4:7, it’s all about finding that divine assurance that transcends our worldly worries. We acknowledged that perfectionism can creep in and shake our confidence, but we’re here to throw that fear out the window. Instead of counting dollars, we should be counting on God. I challenged everyone to get real about their financial fears, to drag those worries into the light, and to surrender them. It’s like lightening your load—who doesn’t want to feel that relief? So, we wrapped up with a prayer, reminding ourselves that our confidence isn’t in cash, but in the Creator.

Takeaways:

  • Surrendering your financial fears is key to finding true peace in life.
  • Your financial confidence shouldn't come from your bank balance but from your faith.
  • Even if you follow the perfect budget, your peace ultimately relies on Christ alone.
  • Daily practices of surrendering fears can help you anchor your peace in God's promises.
  • Financial stability is good, but don't let it be the source of your confidence.
  • True peace comes from God, not from the numbers in your bank account.

You've built a strongfinancial plan, you've budgeted,
you've saved, and yes, you'vetithed. But still there's this whisper
of fear. What if it isn'tenough? But here's the truth. Your
peace isn't in numbers. It'sin Jesus. So stick with me, because
today we're anchoring yourconfidence where it truly belongs.

(00:22):
This is Financially ConfidentChristian. Your daily dose of gospel,
grounded insight and faithdriven tips to help you break the
cycle of financial shame with confidence.
Hey there, friend. Welcomeback to Financially Confident Christian.
I'm Ralph. And it's always anhonor to be with you again today
on the show. As you know, thisis the show all about helping you

(00:42):
answer one transformativequestion. And that question is this.
How can I become a financiallyconfident Christian? And we're in
the final stretch of ourbeyond the Budget series, living
intentionality in our life. Now, yesterday we explored the joy
of simplicity and findingpeace without spending. I'm encouraging,
if you missed it, go check itout because I really thought that

(01:04):
was an impactful show. Andtoday we're going to bring it all
together with a foundationaltruth. Your deepest financial confidence
is found in Christ, not cash. You're doing the right things. You're
budgeting, you're giving,you're building a financial foundation.

(01:27):
But then a headline shakesyou, an unexpected bill arrives,
a job. Concern creeps in, andsuddenly your confidence feels fragile
and you start to wonder, haveI really done enough? And if you're
honest with yourself, perfectionism kicks in. And right
after that, fear follows andpeace just absolutely slips away.

(01:54):
But here's the truth I needyou to hear, and I need you to hear
it right now. Even the bestplan, I'm talking about the best
plan will never replace yourneed for Christ. Did you hear what
I just said? Even the bestplan will never replace your need

(02:14):
for Christ. Because this isfoundational. And here's the thing
I need you to understand. Truepeace doesn't come from money. We
live in a culture where allaround you, peace comes from money.
Hey, have this stuff, you'llhave peace. Make this much money,
you'll have peace. Do this, you'll have peace. But true peace

(02:37):
doesn't come from money, itcomes from God. Well, let's look
at the Scriptures. Let's lookat the Book of John, chapter 14,
verse 27. And Jesus says thispeace I leave you. My peace I give
you. I did not give it to youas the world gives. Do not let your
hearts be troubled and do notbe afraid See, that's peace right

(03:02):
there. Let's continue on.Let's look at the book of Philippians,
chapter 4, verse 7. Because itreminds us of a beautiful truth.
And the peace of God, whichtranscends all understanding, will
guard your hearts and yourminds in Christ Jesus. And I got
one more scripture I want toquote, and I love the book of Romans.

(03:23):
If you listen to me, you know,I talk about the book of Romans as
being my favorite book of theBible. Let's look at the Book of
Romans, chapter 8, verse 28.Because it gives us this promise.
And we know that in allthings, God works for the good of
those who love him, who havebeen called according to his purpose.

(03:43):
Just dwell on that for asecond. Meditate on that for a second.
We know in all things, Godworks for the good of those who love
him, who have been calledaccording to his purpose. Friend,
God is your anchor. It's notyour income. God is your anchor.
It's not your savings. God isyour anchor. It's not your spreadsheet.

(04:08):
Surrender plus stewardshipequals lasting peace. I want to say
that one more time. Surrenderplus stewardship equals lasting peace.
Do you want lasting peacetoday? Really? Do you want lasting
peace today? You might besaying, okay, Ralph, yes, I want

(04:29):
lasting peace. What can we do?What can we do? Well, here's what
you got to do. Surrender yourfinancial fears daily and anchor
your peace in God's promises, not in your bank balance. I want
to say that again because youmay have missed it. Surrender financial
fears daily, daily, and anchoryour peace in God's promises, not

(04:52):
your bank balance. That's howyou walk in true financial confidence.
They might be saying, thatsounds great, Rob, but how do I do
it? Well, I've got an actionstep for you today. I want you to
really take a moment andidentify your confidence. Steve,
take a moment, ask thisquestion. What financial fear is
stealing my peace right now?Look deeper than the numbers. What's

(05:15):
weighing on your heart? Is itwaking up at 2am wondering if your
job will still be there thenext month? There's been a lot of
cuts around me, Ralph. I'mworried about my job. Things are
not great at my business.Maybe for you it's watching the stock
market tank and thinking, willI ever have anything left for retirement?
Will I have enough left forretirement? Maybe the mail comes

(05:40):
and you open a surprisemedical bill and you feel like your
stomach just dropped. Man, Iwasn't counting on this, Ralph. The
insurance company's not goingto cover this. And, man, I don't
know where I'm going to getthe money. Or maybe, like a lot of
us, you're scrolling throughnews headlines and they just say
it's only going to get worse. The headlines. Sometimes that's all

(06:02):
they say to us. It's onlygoing to get worse. But I want you
to write that fear down. Nameit. Because here's the truth. Fear
thrives in the dark. And theonly way you're going to conquer
it is to drag it into thelight. And then you got to practice
surrender. I'm going toencourage you to speak this prayer
aloud. Or maybe you're not oneof these aloud prayers. Just whisper

(06:24):
it in your own spirit. Say,lord, I give you my fear of. And
then name that specific fear, whatever that is. My fear of losing
my job. My fear of not havingenough for retirement. My fear that
everything's crumbling aroundme. Lord, I give that fear to you
today. You are my provider. Not my paycheck, not the market,
not my own hustle. And I wantyou to do a little thing with your

(06:48):
mind. Picture yourself justtaking that and handing it to God.
Just handing it to him. Lord, here you go. Kind of like you're
on a journey. You're settingdown this heavy backpack you've been
carrying for far too long.Just let him take it and just savor
in that relief. Feel thatrelief. Just leave it at the foot

(07:08):
of the cross. Then I'm goingto encourage you to meditate on Scripture.
See, God's word doesn't justinform one of the beauties of scripture.
It's one of the big reasons Ido this show. Because God's word
doesn't just inform, ittransforms. I'm going to encourage
you. Choose one of today'sverses and carry it like armor. John

(07:31):
14:27. Peace I leave you.Don't let your hearts be troubled.
Philippians 4:7. The peace ofGod will guard your hearts and your
minds. Or Romans 8:28. In allthings, God works for the good of
those who love him. Repeat it.When fear rises, write it on a sticky

(07:52):
note. Say it in the car.Whisper it before bed. Because no
budget. And hear me on this nobudget, no savings account, no financial
strategy can guard your heartlike God's peace. Because, friend,
God is the key to your longterm peace. And if you do these things,
it's going to break that idolof control and that that seeking

(08:13):
always for financialperfection. It's going to build spiritual
resistance. It's going torestore joy and peace, even in uncertainty.
And it's going to anchor yourConfidence in God, not your performance.
How about we pray together,Father? God, we just thank you for
being our faithful provider, our perfect peace and our unshakable

(08:34):
anchor. And Lord, we confessthat often, we often place our hope
in numbers and we let our fearcreep in when things shift. So today,
Lord, we surrender. We giveyou our fears, our what ifs, those
things that bother us, thosethings that weigh on our soul every
day and our striving, Lord, and we just ask that you help us.

(08:55):
Rest in your promises, Lord.Fill us with peace that surpasses
all understanding. And anchorour confidence in you alone. And
we ask this humbly inboldness. Sounds like a contradiction,
but we ask this humbly. And weask this in boldness and confidence
in Jesus name. Amen. Friend.Your confidence is not in your cash.

(09:20):
It's not in your retirementaccount, it's not in your bank balance.
It's not in the stuff that youhave. It's in Christ. Hear me on
that. It's in Christ. So Ijust want to encourage you today,
surrender the fear. Just handit over to God and embrace that peace
and walk forward. Knowingthis, you are financially confident

(09:44):
not because of yourperformance, but because of his promises.
I want to ask you a favorright now. Do me a favor and share
this show with somebody. Ifthe show is giving you value, if
it's giving you confidence, ifit's helping you walk in that financial
certainty, share it withsomebody who's been struggling, maybe,

(10:06):
you know, somebody in yourlife right now that's struggling
with that lack of confidence. They're putting all their things
in their cash and their bankaccounts and their stuff and you
know, they're just strugglingwith that. Just share the show with
them, Send them a text, sendthem an email, give them a call and
just point them to ourwebsite, financiallyconfidentchristian.com
it truly could be impactful tosomeone just by you sharing the show

(10:29):
with them. And tomorrow we'regoing to talk about a powerful, practical
daily rhythm to keep yougrounded in intentional living every
single day. Because that'swhat it's all about. It's about keeping
that momentum going. So untilthen, I'm going to encourage you
to stay anchored, staysurrendered, and stay financially

(10:53):
in yourself. God bless you andyou have a peace filled day.
