So, it's Christmas Day. But rather than wishing you a Merry Christmas, my prayer, my hope for you, is that you and your loved ones would have a truly blessed Christmas.

Isn't it amazing that today we celebrate an event that took place over 2,000 years ago in an obscure corner of the world; the birth of a child in the most humble of circumstances; something that ordinarily should have gone unnoticed and been lost in the fog of history.

Yet here we are. Christmas Day. The day on which we celebrate the coming of Jesus, the Son of God, the Saviour of the world, into our world.

Luke 2:11-12 Today your Saviour was born in David's town. He is the Messiah, the Lord. This is how you will know him: You will find a baby wrapped in pieces of cloth and lying in a feeding box."

That's how the angels announced it to the lowly shepherds as they tended their flocks by night. It was a day like every other, until it wasn't! The Saviour was born quietly, but triumphantly.

Today your Saviour was born in David's town. He is the Messiah, the Lord.

Friend, in this world full of noise, of pain, of uncertainty, God's Answer arrives not with fanfare, but with Presence. Hope eternal is born not in a palace, but in a stable.

So, okay, today is a special day. A day for us to rejoice. A day for us to celebrate. But remember, it started out as a day like any other. The message of the circumstances surrounding that first Christmas?

God's plan isn't always easy, but it's always good. God is good … and God is God. Your God. He came for you.

That's His Word. Fresh … for you … today.
