Welcome back to episode four of our series ‘Founder Stories’.In today’s episode, we speak to Jodhi Aghimien, founder of PullFit, she shares her journey to becoming a founder.

PullFit is an online marketplace where stylists and brands can connect, conduct business and raise their portfolios. As a stylist and costume designer herself, Jodhi knows first-hand the struggles of getting access to brands and clothes for your clients, so she developed Pullfit to help bridge this gap.

We hope you find this conversation as inspiring as we did when recording it.

Bayley (00:00):
Welcome to today's episode of Forward Thinking Founder Stories brought to you by Fox Williams. Our Founder Stories series shines a light on the remarkable journeys of underrepresented founders. As part of our ongoing efforts to support diverse entrepreneurial talent, we've created a platform where these inspiring people share their stories, lessons learned, and the unique challenges they've overcome.

Jodhi (00:01):
Okay, so I'm Jodie. The name of my business is PullFit. It's a online marketplace where stylists and brands can connect, conduct business and raise their portfolio.
Waste for sure. And also the problem of your portfolio, you know, being able to say, Hey, I'm a stylist. This is who I am. This is what I do or what I've done without having to rely on social media because social media has its own algorithm, its own ways of boosting who you are. So I felt like, well, if LinkedIn has a corporate space, then I can have a space for a stylist just like myself.
I would say really interesting and favorable actually for much of that 18 months, it was. very insular. It was myself. I have a core team of three, very insular in terms of it's just been me building out this idea. So working in kind of, you know, small focus groups, I know the challenge, but I am just one person.
, to be honest, Raising capital for sure, for sure has been the biggest challenge. I haven't really had a problem in, sales, because I've been in the industry for 10 years.
So it's been really useful to speak to her. The second I was here has been my brother, you know, as a software engineer himself, he's been very helpful in this process and just giving me, um, alternate ways of looking at things.
And I thought, you know, if we just had the one, you know, and it took me, you know, I kind of It stepped off the gas for about three months, three, four months, and to be honest, I looked back at the assessor's remarks, and it really helped me refine, you know, the pitch, um, and kind of gave me the drive to say, you know, I'm not stopping at one.

Bayley (00:07):
um, and just a couple of final questions. So we are at, Founders Investors event this morning.

Jodhi (00:08):
Yeah, I think today has been really useful. I very rare for me to come out to one of these. I'm very early in my fundraising stage. I would say what I love most about it is the connectivity aspect of it. And the fact that, you know, the guys at Venerex and Fox Williams, you know, give you that space to say, Hey, we will connect post this, you know, it's not. This is your one shot. And you know, that's the be all and end all., so I really liked that because I think it just really fosters our entrepreneurial community.
