FULL MONDAY SHOW: South Dakota LLWS assistant coach Brandon White (also Harrisburg HS football head coach) / Mason's moxie, Vikings QB2 quandary, Pohlad legacy, Canaries' new all-time skipper

Imagine playing for a world title with teammates you met just several weeks ago, in a sport you love, and in front of over 30,000 people mostly cheering against you and a global television audience in the millions.

Now, imagine doing that and you're 12 years old. And then imagine being a 39-year-old assistant coach and one of those kids — who just happened to belt a big hit in a 2-0 victory on Thursday — is your son.

Oh, by the way, you are a 15-year high school football head coach and your preseason No. 3-ranked team is 1,200 miles away, back home practicing without you. 

Indeed, Harrisburg's Brandon White is jam-packed with thoughts, emotions, activities, game plans, and amazing experiences these last few days at the Little League World Series in Pennsylvania.

His team from Sioux Falls that is representing South Dakota and the entire Midwest Region was just about to take on Connecticut on Monday evening when White was kind enough to add Happy Hour to his cavalcade of Zoom calls.

Before that chat, Happy Hour host John Gaskins barreled through a bevvy of Monday topics in the "John-o-Logue," starting with new thoughts based off a new interview with South Dakota State quarterback Chase Mason.

It isn't unreasonable to be unsure of if the former Viborg-Hurley standout and University of Nebraska baseball player will perform at a championship level as the Jackrabbits' new starter. After all, he has never started a game at SDSU — only backup and wildcat action — and he hasn't played a full game as a starting quarterback in six years, back to his junior year in high school.

But based off his reaction in a Happy Hour interview last week to a Zach Borg question about that lag time at QB1, it would be foolish to doubt Mason's moxy nor the possibility that will tear up most of his opposing defenses.

Gaskins explains why one snicker and one statement from that Borg interview said a lot about what to expect from Mason.

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Vikings have a massive QB2 quandary. Sam Howell's rating in Saturday's preseason game was 0.0. Should the team look for outside help, or can Howell and couple others be trusted, based off either NFL experience or camp performance?
