The holidays remind us of all the things we hoped would be different by now. For prayers to be answered, For ultrasounds to bring good news; For wombs and cribs to be filled, For silent nights to be anything but silent, For things to go back to "normal."

We can feel worn out from trying to hold on to hope in the aftermath of pregnancy and infant loss, but there is still a reason to rejoice this year—Jesus, the Promised One, the Prince of Peace, has come, and He is going to come again.

In this episode, Kristin Hernandez is joined by Megan Coker, Hope Mom and author of Rest: Advent in the Light of Christ after Pregnancy and Infant Loss. Megan and Kristin discuss the particular challenges Hope Moms face during the holiday season, as well as the encouragement we can find when our hearts feel heavy. We also discuss Megan’s new book and touch on the themes of hope, peace, joy, and love.

Megan is Hope Mom to Eden, Errol, Mason, and Mara. She is a military spouse that enjoys traveling the world with her husband, Ryan, and two living children, Elsie and Morgan. She spends her days as a photographer and doula.

Join me on this podcast as I navigate the murky waters of human behavior, current events, and personal anecdotes through in-depth interviews with incredible people—all served with a generous helping of sarcasm and satire. After years as a forensic and clinical psychologist, I offer a unique interview style and a low tolerance for bullshit, quickly steering conversations toward depth and darkness. I honor the seriousness while also appreciating wit. I’m your guide through the twisted labyrinth of the human psyche, armed with dark humor and biting wit.
