It's 1963, a time of big hair, teen dance television shows, and racial divide. John Waters brought his vision of 60's Baltimore to life with this fun comedy about popularity and racial segregation starring Ricki Lake, Divine, Debbie Harry, Sonny Bono, and Jerry Stiller. A stage musical adapting the film would rise to popularity in 2002 spawning an adaptation of the musical to a new movie in 2007 by Adam Shankman starring Nikki Blonsky, John Travolta, Michelle Pfeiffer, Christopher Walken, Amanda Bines, Queen Latifah, James Marsden and Zac Efron.
