John Waters brought his vision of 60's Baltimore to life with this fun comedy about popularity and racial segregation starring Ricki Lake, Divine, Debbie Harry, Sonny Bono, and Jerry Stiller. A stage musical adapting the film would rise to popularity in 2002 spawning an adaptation of the musical to a new movie in 2007 by Adam Shankman starring Nikki Blonsky, John Travolta, Michelle Pfeiffer, Christopher Walken, Amanda Bines, Queen Latifah, James Marsden and Zac Efron.
