Today’s episode is about confidence: the benefits of it, the consequences of lacking it, and how to cultivate it authentically. This topic is much more complex than one might first imagine due to the conflicting messaging we’ve received about it, women especially. We are encouraged to be confident but then programmed to outsource our power and intuition to others. We’re reminded to be authentic but then told to ‘fake it til you make it’...So which is it? I address common misconceptions about confidence, emphasizing that it is not about arrogance but rather a healthy belief in our abilities and worth. I delve into the three cornerstones of confidence: our thoughts and beliefs, managing our emotions, and developing a healthy self-image. I briefly touch on how to develop the skill of failure tolerance and discuss the importance of creating a fail plan to anticipate and embrace potential failures as opportunities for growth. By reframing failure, we can build resilience and a healthier mindset (more on this in Episode 33). Ready to break free from the fear of failure and build authentic self-confidence?
