Dr. Carla Prado is a Distinguished University Professor and Registered Dietitian at the University of Alberta, holding a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Nutrition, Body Composition, and Energy Metabolism. She is among the top 1% of scientists worldwide, recognized as a highly cited researcher for her groundbreaking work on body composition and nutrition in chronic disease, particularly cancer. As Director of the Human Nutrition Research Unit, her innovative research has earned her numerous awards, including being named one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 and among Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100. She is also a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences and a member of the Royal Society of Canada's College of New Scholars.
